In this episode, Charlie Kirk, former presidential candidate and founder of Turning Point USA, joins me to talk about his campaign for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination and why he thinks Joe Biden is not a serious contender. He also talks about why he believes that a Democratic presidential candidate should focus on three things: 1. defend the traditional American way of life 2. articulate a vision for the country that will ensure a better life for themselves and their children 3. defend and support the rule of law

00:00:34.000 Busy Newsday.
00:00:34.000 Listen to our sister episode.
00:00:36.000 This episode in particular goes through two news stories that no one else is telling you.
00:00:40.000 Buckle up.
00:00:41.000 Here we go.
00:00:42.000 Charlie, what you've done is incredible here.
00:00:44.000 Maybe Charlie Kirk is on the college campus.
00:00:46.000 I want you to know we are lucky to have Charlie Kirk.
00:00:49.000 Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks.
00:00:53.000 I want to thank Charlie.
00:00:54.000 He's an incredible guy.
00:00:55.000 His spirit, his love of this country, he's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created.
00:01:02.000 Turning point USA.
00:01:03.000 We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.
00:01:12.000 That's why we are here.
00:01:14.000 Do the decent people outnumber the cultural arsonists?
00:01:19.000 Is America and our very unique way of life worth preserving?
00:01:23.000 Or do our sins count so heavily against us that we must start over and form something unproven, uncertain, and assuredly dangerous?
00:01:33.000 Do we want to be a country that believes in families, or do we wish to create a country that is so full of our own pride, we believe we can create something new to replace this 2,000-year-old institution that we know as Western society?
00:01:48.000 Now, when I talk about Western society, the origins of Western civilization are thousands of years old.
00:01:54.000 But this small little experiment of freedom of speech, individual rights, rule of law, it really started with the United States of America in 1776, the Declaration of Independence.
00:02:04.000 Written in 1776 was our birth certificate, the laws of nature and nature is God.
00:02:09.000 And this should really ask the question of what does it mean to be an American?
00:02:14.000 Are we a country of guilt-ridden cultural pyrotechnics?
00:02:18.000 Or are we a civilization that looks to the past for inspiration to create a more stable and free tomorrow?
00:02:26.000 It's a very important word, stable.
00:02:28.000 We as conservatives don't talk about stability enough.
00:02:31.000 We do talk about freedom quite a lot.
00:02:33.000 But it's really hard to have freedom without stability.
00:02:36.000 Now, too much stability can be a bad thing.
00:02:38.000 That's called prison.
00:02:39.000 Prison is awfully stable, unless you get involved in a prison riot or someone tries to kill you.
00:02:44.000 But the idea of prison is you get three meals a day and you have no freedom.
00:02:48.000 But you actually can't have freedom if you do not have stability.
00:02:51.000 In Chicago, there's no freedom.
00:02:53.000 You must stay at home because the vigilantes and the criminals and the terrorists walk the streets at night.
00:02:58.000 In Portland, there's very little freedom because BLM Incorporated has decided to take over the entire city as their terrorist petri dish.
00:03:06.000 As I have postulated previously, this race of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris versus Donald Trump and Mike Pence is not normal. 0.88
00:03:16.000 All polling, precedent, and previous predictions by prognosticators must be thrown out immediately.
00:03:23.000 Instead, a broader picture must be constructed, asking fundamental, very basic questions.
00:03:31.000 Our current system, especially in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Florida, Arizona, and other battleground states, they are demanding a candidate do a couple of things.
00:03:41.000 Number one, be able to do a normal television interview.
00:03:45.000 Joe Biden cannot do that.
00:03:46.000 Number two, defend the traditional way of life.
00:03:51.000 Number three, articulate a vision for the country that will ensure a better life for themselves and their children.
00:03:58.000 Now let's focus on number two, defend the traditional American way of life.
00:04:03.000 What is that?
00:04:04.000 We've talked about this quite a lot on our program.
00:04:06.000 I want to thank those of you that support us at charliekirk.com slash support to get this message out.
00:04:10.000 Millions of people have heard it.
00:04:11.000 But the American way of life is you generally do not have to worry about losing your life on the way to work.
00:04:17.000 That we actually have a generally peaceful country.
00:04:21.000 You can defend yourself, defend your family with a firearm of your choosing.
00:04:25.000 You can work hard and play by the rules and see your life materially, spiritually, socially, and culturally improve.
00:04:33.000 It means that you can believe in big ideas and see those ideas defended, hopefully by your government and your politicians.
00:04:39.000 The American way of life means that if you're really upset with somebody, you can go to the ballot box and change leadership.
00:04:45.000 You can change direction.
00:04:46.000 You could change the way that laws and public policies actually passed.
00:04:51.000 The American way of life means that we can agree to disagree, that just because you might have a different idea doesn't mean that you should lose your job or be punished for that.
00:05:00.000 The American way of life is now the question of the 2020 race.
00:05:07.000 So currently, this race is flipping upside down in real time.
00:05:12.000 This race is increasingly, we're talking about the presidential race, in my own estimation, appearing like a two-car race where the lead car just blew a tire and the car right behind it is just hitting its stride.
00:05:24.000 Now the car behind it is President Trump's campaign.
00:05:27.000 Now as things are trending, it's looking more and more competitive and likely that President Trump will have a narrow race and a path to victory come into November.
00:05:37.000 I'm going to articulate that even more later in this program and also in our sister episode today.
00:05:43.000 We must take a second and pause and recognize first how much the president has had to endure so that he's able to protect the American way of life.
00:05:53.000 Remember the FISA scandal and still no people have gone to prison to date for spying on the president illegally?
00:06:00.000 The Mueller investigation and the Russian hoax? 0.71
00:06:03.000 Almost going to war with Iran?
00:06:05.000 Barack Obama undermining President Trump at every single corner?
00:06:09.000 A failed impeachment scandal where they did impeach the president but unsuccessfully removed him from office. 0.87
00:06:16.000 Having to deal with the Chinese coronavirus and China's aggressive moves and lying about their nefarious behavior when it came to the virus. 0.89
00:06:25.000 Dealing with leakers within the White House like John Bolton, Amarosa, and many people up and down his entire staffing structure. 0.89
00:06:31.000 And then they all try to create backstabbing best-selling books where they use the access that was granted them by the President of the United States, granted generously, and then they go try to sell a best-selling book on the access that was given to them.
00:06:47.000 And how about the Republican Party betrayal?
00:06:50.000 People that ran for Senate positions with the President's endorsement.
00:06:55.000 They didn't say one bad thing when they ran for the United States Senate position, like in Utah.
00:07:00.000 They took the President's endorsement in full stride, only to then become the number one anti-Trump senator in the entire Republican Party, Mitt Romney.
00:07:10.000 The fact that President Trump is still in this race, as closely as he is, is a true testament to the remarkable tenacity of the person of the president.
00:07:22.000 And also something that we have discussed at great length before.
00:07:27.000 That President Trump is a reflection of the spirit of the country.
00:07:32.000 You see, the American ethos, unlike the French or even the Chinese national ethos, is toughness.
00:07:40.000 If I had to put the Chinese Communist Party ethos, it is lie, cheat, and steal until your enemies disappear.
00:07:46.000 The French ethos is probably more about camaraderie, taking time off and enjoying the pleasures of life. 0.76
00:07:53.000 Jean-Jacques Rousseau, Michelle Foucault, and Jacques Derrida talked at length about this.
00:07:58.000 That the American ethos is toughness.
00:08:01.000 This is a theme, and I'd love your thoughts on this theme.
00:08:04.000 Please email me at freedom at charliekirk.com.
00:08:08.000 America is tough.
00:08:10.000 Trump is tough.
00:08:12.000 This idea of toughness, this idea that no matter what you throw at our nation, we can persevere through it, is something that I think the president needs to lean on that even more.
00:08:22.000 We are a tough nation.
00:08:25.000 We don't actually accept losing very well.
00:08:28.000 We don't like being beaten down.
00:08:31.000 Instead, we look at the next day as a chance to pick up ourselves when all other forces might be against us and improve on what happened before us.
00:08:41.000 And that is where I think Trump is at his very best.
00:08:44.000 Some people might call this relentless.
00:08:47.000 I think a good term for this is anti-fragile.
00:08:50.000 I didn't come up with that term, a phenomenal best-selling book was called anti-fragile.
00:08:55.000 Some people might call it unwavering or refusing to quit.
00:08:58.000 You see, the president's magic, the reason why I think he's going to be so tough to beat down the stretch, and why I think he's going to be one of the best late-breaking candidates in American history, is no matter what you throw at him, his capacity to persevere, to endure that level of stress, is completely and totally remarkable.
00:09:20.000 And so the question really is going to be: what is the American way of life and what is trying to threaten the American way of life?
00:09:28.000 And in this episode in particular, I want to hear from you.
00:09:31.000 I want to hear your thoughts on this, freedom at charliekirk.com, on what you believe Donald Trump needs to do more of in order to secure victory against Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
00:09:44.000 The best five ideas our team on the Charlie Kirk show are going to compile, put together, and we're going to mention them in an upcoming episode of the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:09:53.000 And if they're really good, I might just tell some important people that might be able to do something about it.
00:09:57.000 Freedom at CharlieKirk.com.
00:09:59.000 So I want to focus on two stories in particular.
00:10:03.000 These two stories should be in the main national news conversation and narrative of our country.
00:10:08.000 One in Virginia and one in North Carolina. 0.69
00:10:11.000 When Donald Trump argues to defend the American way of life, he means dramatic, systemic changes to local institutions that have generally worked, is inappropriate, and being driven by BLM Inc. for the demise of Western society. 0.68
00:10:29.000 I've been waiting to talk about this story all week. 0.80
00:10:32.000 I've been chomping at the bit for the right opportunity and the right opening to speak about this.
00:10:39.000 Judge Nolan Dawkins in Virginia released a rapist despite prosecutors pleading for a no release.
00:10:48.000 The rapist, Ibrahim Buachi, then went and shot his accuser, Carla Elizabeth, right after he was released.
00:10:57.000 This is all because of Judge Dawkins, who conveniently retired in June, and he was given a retirement parade by local individuals in the Alexandria region.
00:11:07.000 Here's how the Washington Post wrote it up: The incident in Carlo Dominguez's apartment last October was violent, and it was not consensual, she testified in Alexandria District Court in December.
00:11:18.000 The man she accused, Ibrahim E. Buchani, was indicted on charges including rape, strangulation, and abduction and jailed without bond in Alexandria.
00:11:27.000 Then the coronavirus pandemic hit.
00:11:29.000 So then on April 9th, despite the objections of an Alexandria prosecutor, circuit court judge Nolan Dawkins, they released Bukhani on only a $25,000 bond with the condition that he only leave his Maryland home to meet with his lawyers or his pre-trial service officials.
00:11:48.000 Now, because hardened criminals like Buccaneer followed judges' orders, just like they followed the law, right?
00:11:56.000 As soon as he was released, he immediately returned to Alexandria, Virginia, and hunted down his accuser, Carla Dominguez.
00:12:06.000 So if you're a young woman listening to this and a person rapes you, and then you testify to put that person in prison, in Kamala Harris's or Kamala Harris's America or Joe Biden's America, that person might be released on $25,000 bond.
00:12:29.000 He then hunted her down, shot her, and killed her.
00:12:33.000 She did not have to die.
00:12:36.000 And her blood is on the hands of the newly retired judge, Nolan Dawkins.
00:12:42.000 Now, what's even more stunning is upon his retirement, Judge Dawkins received, as I mentioned, a 100-car parade because he allows rapists out of prison early because he's worried they might get the Chinese coronavirus.
00:12:55.000 Now, here's one question I have.
00:12:58.000 If masks truly work the way that they tell us, why didn't they give Ibrahim Buccane a mask, socially distance prisoners, instead of releasing him back into society?
00:13:10.000 Carla Dominguez is dead.
00:13:14.000 She's dead because a judge wanted to destroy Western society and civilization, Judge Dawkins.
00:13:22.000 Judge Dawkins, honored by local officials with a 100-car parade, they're going to name a back alley after him, according to the Alexandria local news service.
00:13:34.000 He roamed free, hunted down his accuser, and killed her.
00:13:37.000 You probably didn't hear that on the network news.
00:13:39.000 You probably didn't hear that from Joe Biden or Senator Harris.
00:13:43.000 Of course you didn't.
00:13:44.000 Now, this is not an isolated incident.
00:13:46.000 In California, nearly 18,000 inmates are set to be released under governor, who's a tyrant, Gavin Newsom's order, 18,000 inmates.
00:13:56.000 If you live in California, go buy a lot of firearms to defend yourself and your family.
00:14:00.000 It is not safe.
00:14:01.000 There are people that are going to be prowling the streets.
00:14:04.000 There are people that are going to be hunting down young women.
00:14:06.000 And they are coming out of the prisons at record rates.
00:14:09.000 And this is not hyperbole.
00:14:11.000 I just gave you an example of someone who was raped.
00:14:15.000 The justice system did its job and Ibrahim was in prison with no bond. 0.52
00:14:20.000 A liberal leftist activist judge who hates America, wants to see it burn, releases Ibrahim.
00:14:28.000 Ibrahim is released and goes and kills his accuser.
00:14:32.000 This, of course, all comes as Democrats in Joe Biden's party are aggressively pursuing my pastor and good friend of the Charlie Kirk Show, Pastor Rob McCoy, for simply holding church.
00:14:43.000 So pastors are going to prison, rapists are going free, and innocent children are being murdered in the streets.
00:14:50.000 Here's another story I do want to mention.
00:14:52.000 A stunning new investigative report reveals that Biden campaign officials funded a radical left organization in Minnesota that paid tens of thousands of dollars to bail out violent criminals out of jail, including a serial rapist, domestic abuser, a murderer, and a would-be cop killer.
00:15:10.000 In May, at least 13 Biden campaign staffers donated to the Minnesota Freedom Fund, which pays bail fees for women who commit crimes.
00:15:19.000 Of the 184 people set free from jail by this fund in recent months, only about a dozen were involved in the protests or riots, according to the fund's director.
00:15:29.000 The rest are regular criminals.
00:15:31.000 Some of them are extremely dangerous. 1.00
00:15:33.000 How about Christopher Boswell, a serial rapist? 0.98
00:15:36.000 This is the party of Joe Biden, is what Joe Biden wants. 0.98
00:15:39.000 Boswell is currently charged with sexual assault, kidnapping in two separate cases and assault.
00:15:44.000 He's now out on the street, thanks in part to Joe Biden's campaign.
00:15:47.000 How about Darnica Floyd? 0.75
00:15:49.000 After allegedly stabbing a man to death in 2008, Floyd was charged with second-degree murder.
00:15:53.000 Now she's out on the streets thanks to Joe Biden.
00:15:55.000 How about Donovan Boone?
00:15:56.000 After being freed from jail, Boone failed to show up in court and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
00:16:01.000 He was in jail for breaking into his ex-girlfriend's house, attempting to strangle her.
00:16:05.000 Now he's a violent fugitive thanks to Joe Biden and his campaign.
00:16:09.000 How about Jalil Stallings?
00:16:10.000 During the Minnesota-Minneapolis riots in May, Stallings tried to kill police by shooting at them with a modified pistol that looked like an AK-47.
00:16:19.000 He's now back on the streets thanks to Joe Biden and his campaign.
00:16:22.000 This is now the status quo of Joe Biden and the Kalmala-Harris campaign.
00:16:27.000 This tells you everything you need to know.
00:16:30.000 This is just further proof that you and your family will not be safe if Joe Biden wins.
00:16:35.000 Go buy as much ammunition and firearms as you can.
00:16:38.000 And even in the environment that Joe Biden Democrats harbor, the environment that would become the rule as opposed to the exception, we're seeing that Americans still aren't safe due to the unmitigated terror that Democrats are endorsing.
00:16:50.000 Democrats oversee the great American terror.
00:16:56.000 How about this story?
00:16:58.000 This is the American way of life under attack.
00:17:00.000 On Sunday, 25-year-old black man, Darius Semmons. 0.79
00:17:07.000 This is one of the most unbelievably outrageous stories I have seen recently. 0.96
00:17:12.000 And you probably haven't heard about it.
00:17:14.000 This story should be front-page news, but instead, we're worrying about BLM Incorporated and how awful you listen to this podcast might be.
00:17:25.000 25-year-old black man Darius Semmons murders a five-year-old, Cannon Hinnant, who is white, in Wilson, North Carolina, in front of the boy's two young sisters.
00:17:39.000 So here's what happened: Darius Semmons, a black man, 25 years old, goes over to his neighbor and sees three children playing in the yard.
00:17:50.000 Five-year-old Cannon Hinnant and two young sisters.
00:17:54.000 He goes and shoots the five-year-old at point-blank range in front of his sisters.
00:18:00.000 This is a tragedy, no matter the races involved.
00:18:04.000 But you're smart.
00:18:06.000 You know that if the skin colors were reversed, if it were a white shooter and a black five-year-old boy, it would be national news, plastered on every paper and every activist meeting program.
00:18:19.000 It would be at the forefront of Joe Biden and Senator Harris' presidential campaign.
00:18:24.000 In fact, they would have mentioned it in their debut as running mates.
00:18:30.000 You probably have never heard the name Cannon Hinnant, and you probably never will again.
00:18:35.000 After this episode, you probably never hear it, and hopefully it doesn't go back into your memory.
00:18:39.000 But you've probably never heard of the name Secoria Turner, the eight-year-old girl who was shot in Atlanta after crossing over a BLM Incorporated barricade next to a burnt-out Wendy's eight-year-old girl.
00:18:51.000 The activist media is intentionally covering up slaughters of young children at the hands of criminals.
00:19:00.000 It's no longer about black lives or innocent children dying.
00:19:04.000 Remember, their outrage over kids in cages. 0.60
00:19:07.000 They don't care about that.
00:19:09.000 It's actually never about what they say it's about.
00:19:11.000 It is a backwards Orwellian exercise, where if they're accusing you of something, you better believe that they are the ones that are actually doing what they say you are doing.
00:19:24.000 So this is the question that I've been wrestling with in the last couple days.
00:19:29.000 Are there more reasonable people than pathological, emotive, cultural arsonists?
00:19:36.000 I do understand, and I admit, that there will be people that go and vote Democrat this November.
00:19:43.000 But after all of this, after the things I've just talked to you about, after the murder in the streets, after the early releases from bond, after 18,000 criminals from California being released because of the Chinese coronavirus, can you process 60 million people voting Democrat in November?
00:20:04.000 That's what's going to happen.
00:20:07.000 This election is going to be tight.
00:20:09.000 And almost guaranteed, 60 million human beings are going to vote for the party that embraces and endorses all of these ideas.
00:20:18.000 That is the question that has yet to be answered.
00:20:21.000 I don't think we have a good answer to that yet.
00:20:24.000 Are there more reasonable people than cultural arsonists, people that want to live a normal way of life?
00:20:29.000 That's the message that President Trump has to deliver to this nation.
00:20:33.000 It is him on his shoulders where Western civilization rests.
00:20:39.000 You see what the Democrats are doing in California, what they're doing in Virginia.
00:20:43.000 Criminals will be released.
00:20:45.000 More and more innocent women and children will be hunted down and will be killed.
00:20:49.000 The American way of life is you can live a stable and peaceable life so that you can flourish, build a family, accumulate a little bit of wealth, and extend your values for generations to come.
00:20:58.000 That is now severely under attack due to what the Democrats and the radicals are embracing and advancing.
00:21:05.000 They think they are closer than ever to their radical power grab.
00:21:09.000 They really do.
00:21:09.000 They think that they are getting closer and closer to being able to implement their sinister and backwards and malevolent worldview.
