00:00:02.000Maybe listen to this on Saturday or Sunday.
00:00:05.000It's our conversation with Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty, one of the most biblically sound conversations we've ever had on the Charlie Kirk show.
00:00:14.000You've probably saw him from his very popular television show.
00:00:17.000And I think that you'll really enjoy this conversation.
00:00:21.000We talk directly to our nation's young people.
00:00:23.000We talk about what students can do to live a fulfilling and Christ-filled life.
00:00:40.000CharlieKirk.com/slash support is where you are able to get behind the work we are doing to almost publish two podcasts a day, sometimes three podcasts a day, one on Saturday, one on Sunday.
00:00:52.000And if you have been moved by the work we are doing, please consider supporting us at charliekirk.com slash support.
00:00:59.000If you want to get involved with Turning Point USA, the nation's largest educational movement focused on making sure your kids and grandkids live in a free country.
00:02:20.000We will not embrace the ideas that have destroyed countries, destroyed lives, and we are going to fight for freedom on campuses across the country.
00:02:33.000Welcome to this episode of the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:02:35.000With us is an American icon and someone who I really look up to and I've been wanting to talk to for quite some time, Phil Robertson, who is the author of a new book called Uncanceled.
00:02:45.000Phil, welcome to the Charlie Kirk Show.
00:02:54.000I wrote this one for the saved in America, finding meaning and peace with what's going on in a culture of accusations, shame, and condemnation.
00:03:11.000I'd never heard of a cancel culture for a while until one day a guy walked in front of me.
00:03:17.000That's about seven or eight years ago.
00:09:57.000And so, you know, if you believe we're in the end times, there's a couple different ways to look at that.
00:10:01.000And I'd love your perspective on it because eschatology can sometimes be an excuse for inaction where people believe that the world's falling apart.
00:11:51.000I'm like, why don't you just stop a minute and think all your sins in the Avalat are removed and you're guaranteed you can be raised from the dead.
00:12:00.000Why wouldn't at least you investigate how that came to be?
00:12:05.000And I said, take a look at Jesus Christ.
00:13:26.000Our founders, they knew what was going on, and they gave us the greatest country on earth.
00:13:32.000And we about screwed this thing up with all these edicts from the government.
00:13:37.000No God in the school system or anywhere else, really.
00:13:41.000So to the saved, we either have to change the minds of our neighbors, live a godly life so that they see, or we just have to trust in God and take our chances, no matter what happens to the country.
00:16:11.000And but this is an important point because this current younger generation, we have a lot of younger listeners, a lot of younger viewers.
00:16:18.000They're living through a similar, but in some ways different type of generational moment that is inundated with marijuana and you know alcohol and kind of a pleasure-focused society.
00:16:30.000Talk about how that actually really is an empty way to live.
00:16:35.000Well, it won't give you peace of mind.
00:17:35.000You, dear children, here's what I would tell an 18-year-old college-age person right now: you, dear children, the saved, are from God and have overcome them because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
00:18:36.000So to the young bucks, I say, and I've talked to many, many, many, I just point them to Jesus and say, because of what Jesus has done for us and who we are, he's the king of a spiritual kingdom inside of the Constitutional Republic.
00:18:56.000He's the one that dictates how we roll, and we roll that way.
00:19:00.000You can overcome the world if you do that because judgment one day is coming.
00:19:05.000The problem with America, listen to this.
00:19:11.000You therefore have no excuse, Romans chapter 2.
00:19:16.000You who pass judgment on someone else.
00:19:20.000I told you a while ago, sinners attacking sinful men, but a lot of saved men and women.
00:19:28.000You who pass judgment on someone else, whatever point you judge the other, you are condemning yourself because you who pass judgment on others do the same things.
00:19:43.000So we can't get into the cancellation business.
00:19:47.000As Christians, I'm a follower of Jesus, but I'm never going to stand up and say, well, I'm going to judge you and you can't.
00:19:54.000I'm just going to point them to Jesus.
00:19:56.000I'm going to love God and I'm going to love my neighbor.
00:20:00.000And I say, look, if you ever thought about following Jesus, look, this is who he is.
00:22:32.000And even if I did, I'd still love them.
00:22:35.000I'd love them, show them Jesus by my life and my words, and go on down the road and tell some more.
00:22:45.000So let's talk about that idea of love.
00:22:46.000I think some Christians agree with you and they'll say, well, Mr. Phil, you say we should love people, love God, love God, love people, the two commandments.
00:22:55.000Then why is it that you have some bad things?
00:22:58.000Not they'll say bad things or controversial things to say about people in a homosexual lifestyle.
00:23:05.000Yep, I love them, but I think there's a better life for them and immortality is hanging in the balance.
00:23:15.000Let no debt, this is Romans 13, let no debt pay your debts.
00:23:23.000Let no debt remain outstanding, except now just think about this, the continuing debt to love one another.
00:23:35.000For he who loves his fellow man, here is something profound, has fulfilled the law.
00:23:44.000You're like, how in the world could you feel the law?
00:23:46.000And all these don't do this, do this, don't do that.
00:23:49.000How could you fulfill that by loving your neighbor?
00:23:54.000If you love him, you won't mess with his woman.
00:23:57.000If you love him, you're not going to shoot him.
00:24:00.000And if you love him, when he makes a mistake, you would forgive him.
00:24:05.000And on Therefore, the commandments: do not commit adultery, do not murder, do not steal, do not covet, and whatever other commandments there are in the entire Bible, I'll add, summed up in this one rule: love your neighbor as yourself.
00:25:22.000And sometimes love means we have to tell people the truth.
00:25:26.000And also, we conflate the different types of love in America: agape, phileo, eros, and storge, all sorts of different types of love in the Greek, a romantic love, eros, storge, a parent-child love, phileo, a brotherly love, or agape, a sacrificial love.
00:25:44.000And I believe Paul was using agape in this particular, or he might have been using phileo or story, I can't remember, but definitely John 3:16 is agape.
00:25:54.000Talk about how sometimes the loving thing is to tell the truth.
00:27:45.000I have a story about God making the cosmos, coming down in flesh a couple thousand years ago, dying on a cross to pay for my rotten sorry hide, and guaranteed I'd be raised from the dead.
00:28:01.000gives me his spirit so I can live a spiritual life with help from him while I'm here.
00:30:54.000Some are made that way, unfortunately.
00:30:57.000And the third one is some don't marry like the Apostle Paul because of the kingdom of God and all the work he's got to do and the danger of it all.
00:31:53.000Yeah, it's such a great story that when you look at all the texts and add them all up, 41 people, I think, 40, 41 put all this together.
00:32:02.000I don't see how that many individuals could have ended up and all the prophets making all these predictions, hundreds of years, thousands of years.
00:32:13.000Genesis 3, 15, it starts out, talking to Satan, man has just fallen.
00:32:20.000Someone from the seed of a woman will crush your head before this is over.
00:32:55.000It's useful for teaching, for rebuking, for correcting and training in righteousness so that the man of God will be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
00:33:07.000This is really a healthy thing, your Bible, and you're applying the principles to it.
00:33:33.000And I would tell all the younger people that listen to the show there, I would just tell them, you get out and you seek God, begin to put these scriptures into practice, and you'll grow in the faith as you can give your life to it.
00:33:46.000Just remember, all of us are going to go six feet deep in a hole.
00:33:51.000This is the answer that gives you hope.
00:33:54.000It's the only thing I've found since I've been on planet Earth that gives you hope beyond the grave.
00:35:17.000Any other thoughts on the book you wanted to talk?
00:35:18.000I know we talked about a lot of other stuff except the book.
00:35:21.000Most of them that have read these first copies, they've really said that, you know, Robinson, that is a hard argument to get around finding meaning.
00:35:30.000Jesus, when we all sin to begin with, when we get old enough to sin, we sin, he cancels us.
