00:01:23.000 Dr. Carson everybody This is a how you doing everybody
00:01:33.000 Great to see you.
00:01:34.000 This is a homecoming for Dr. Carson.
00:01:38.000 Dr. Carson, you grew up not far from here.
00:01:47.000 I grew up in Detroit.
00:01:49.000 Uh, spent my first, uh, several years here.
00:01:53.000 And, you know, Detroit gets a bad rap all the time about being a horrible place, but I can tell you for certain There were a lot of people here who thought the right way, who believed in America, who encouraged me to climb the ladder of opportunity and that you could do anything that you could imagine.
00:02:11.000 And they believed in the difference between right and wrong and law and order.
00:02:15.000 That was Detroit.
00:02:18.000 But what has happened is that a lot of people who actually think the right way and have the right values aren't willing to stand up for them.
00:02:31.000 And the fact of the matter is, you cannot be the land of the free if you're not the home of the brave.
00:02:38.000 You gotta be able to stand up for what you believe in.
00:02:44.000 So Dr. Carson, I believe you are one of the most impressive and important Americans alive today.
00:02:53.000 I truly believe that.
00:02:58.000 Thank you.
00:03:00.000 You have saved countless lives personally and you've also impacted millions of people through your testimony and through your public advocacy.
00:03:08.000 I want to stay on Detroit for just a second.
00:03:11.000 Your story from Detroit to being one of the top surgeons on the planet is a remarkable one and it's one that is only possible in America.
00:03:23.000 I believe that if every black American learned more about Dr. Carson
00:03:28.000 than critical race theory, our country would be in a much better place.
00:03:32.000 And you know, there was a time when individuals like myself, who worked very hard, who believed in God,
00:03:50.000 who believed in right and wrong, Values that made this into a great nation were celebrated, but now there's a faction that denigrates those people.
00:04:03.000 Says that their Uncle Tom's and all kinds of things that they are called.
00:04:08.000 They don't appreciate them because they're more interested in getting people to believe that their victims.
00:04:14.000 And you know, teaching little white children that their ancestors are oppressors.
00:04:20.000 And little black children and minorities that they're victims.
00:04:24.000 Tell me, how is that supposed to make the country better?
00:04:28.000 There's no way that that does anything except cause division.
00:04:38.000 And remember this, you know, the United States of America is the major obstacle to one world government and Marxism In our system.
00:04:53.000 And that's why that's why there's such an effort to overcome us.
00:04:59.000 But they cannot overcome us militarily.
00:05:01.000 We're much too strong.
00:05:03.000 So the only way they can overcome us is interiorly.
00:05:07.000 They fork with the fabric of our country.
00:05:10.000 They denigrate the families.
00:05:13.000 They denigrate the communities.
00:05:14.000 They denigrate our values.
00:05:16.000 And they drive wedges between the people on the basis of race, Age, income, gender, political affiliation, religion, you name it, driving wedges, getting us to hate each other, when the fact of the matter is our strength came through our unity.
00:05:35.000 There were times in the early parts of our country where we had communities that were separated from each other by 100 miles, only 25, 50, 100 families.
00:05:43.000 They spoke different languages.
00:05:48.000 But not only did they survive, they thrive.
00:05:52.000 Why did they thrive?
00:05:53.000 Because they understood the concept of the common good.
00:05:57.000 That was something that you heard very frequently.
00:06:00.000 You know, not what's good for this group versus that group.
00:06:08.000 Not that this group had a problem before, so now let's make this group have a problem.
00:06:13.000 But what works for everybody.
00:06:15.000 And that is the thing that is so attractive about Donald Trump.
00:06:19.000 He recognized that a rising tide floats all boats.
00:06:23.000 Don't try to separate people.
00:06:25.000 Let's work together.
00:06:27.000 So Dr. Carson, right after this dialogue right here, you're actually going with the president
00:06:37.000 to a black church down the street where he's visiting before he comes and visits us, by
00:06:42.000 the way.
00:06:44.000 Thank you.
00:06:47.000 Dr. Carson, looking at Republican politics for the last 30 or 40 years, it is hard to find examples where candidates are willing to go into the Bronx or downtown Detroit.
00:06:59.000 What is your takeaway or your impression of President Trump's willingness to go into communities that don't always overwhelmingly vote Republican?
00:07:07.000 Well, you know, President Trump is not your typical politician.
00:07:11.000 He doesn't run around with his finger in the air seeing which way the wind is blowing.
00:07:18.000 And, you know, he's very different.
00:07:25.000 The first time I met him, neither one of us were running for president.
00:07:29.000 I was at Mar-a-Lago, and I was talking to him, and somebody came up to him and said, Rod Stewart is here.
00:07:36.000 Rod Stewart is here.
00:07:37.000 He says, I don't care.
00:07:39.000 Ben Carson's here.
00:07:40.000 And I'm talking to him.
00:07:41.000 But, you know, I think people genuinely know that he cares.
00:07:52.000 You know, I noticed that the workers at Mar-a-Lago, he knows their names.
00:07:57.000 He talks to them.
00:07:58.000 They love him.
00:07:59.000 The same thing at Trump Towers, all the places he actually communicates with people.
00:08:05.000 He's not just using people like typical politicians do.
00:08:09.000 And that's why the people in the Bronx and all these places where they don't expect him to have any traction, they recognize what's going on.
00:08:18.000 The other thing is, Americans are a lot smarter than the news media and the leftists think they are.
00:08:25.000 And they recognize that if we allow the leftists to succeed in using our justice system to prosecute and persecute their political opponents, If they're successful in doing that, we will not have the United States of America anymore.
00:08:53.000 We will have the United States of Banana Republic.
00:08:58.000 We will be the biggest banana republic in the world.
00:09:01.000 We're already laughed at.
00:09:03.000 How could a country like ours have a leader who can barely find his way off the stage?
00:09:11.000 You know, this person has control of the nuclear codes.
00:09:16.000 is control of the military, control of so many aspects of our lives, and the people around him
00:09:23.000 know that he's incompetent, but they are more interested in power than they are in the well-being
00:09:30.000 of our nation, and we have to change that. Dr. Carson, how do you recommend this audience that
00:09:41.000 that is all about action, action, action, and their advocacy, respond.
00:09:46.000 But when their friends or family or potential voters say, I'm not sure about voting for Donald Trump because he's a convicted felon.
00:09:55.000 Well, you know, I see so many people who have one or another reason that they don't want to vote for Trump.
00:10:02.000 And they say, I can't stand him.
00:10:04.000 And when you press them, yes, his policies were good for me.
00:10:08.000 I have to admit that.
00:10:09.000 But I can't vote for him.
00:10:12.000 What if you were a patient who had a serious disease that required a very competent surgeon?
00:10:18.000 Would you rather have a surgeon who has poor bedside manner and saves everybody,
00:10:23.000 or great bedside manner and kills everybody?
00:10:26.000 And you know, the founders of our country, they study every single political system that
00:10:50.000 ever existed in the history of the world.
00:10:53.000 And one of the things that they discovered is that they, no matter how they start, they all move in the same direction.
00:11:00.000 Growth, infiltration, and domination.
00:11:04.000 And we have in Donald Trump somebody who understands that concept.
00:11:11.000 And wants to give the power back to the people, because that was the stopgap measure that our founders built into our system.
00:11:19.000 The people and their ability to change when the government is inappropriate.
00:11:25.000 We have that ability.
00:11:30.000 But.
00:11:34.000 But it means we have to vote appropriately.
00:11:37.000 Everybody in here has a sphere of influence.
00:11:40.000 Use that in an appropriate way.
00:11:42.000 Teach people.
00:11:43.000 Don't just go into the booth or look at the voting sheet and vote for the name that looks familiar.
00:11:49.000 You need to know who those people are.
00:11:51.000 Most people say, I know that name.
00:11:53.000 It could be Satan.
00:11:55.000 No, you don't want that.
00:11:56.000 We've got to do better than that.
00:11:58.000 We've got to study who we're voting for.
00:12:01.000 And we also have to get involved in the process.
00:12:05.000 Volunteer to be a poll watcher.
00:12:08.000 And if you're a poll watcher, don't listen to the people who say you can watch the poll, but you gotta do it from way over there where you can't see anything.
00:12:15.000 We don't have to accept that.
00:12:17.000 We don't have to accept it if they say the signatures don't have to match.
00:12:21.000 We don't have to accept it if there are 100 ballots from the same address and they say it's okay.
00:12:27.000 It's not okay.
00:12:28.000 We don't have to accept it if people don't have voter ID.
00:12:31.000 We don't have to accept any of these things.
00:12:33.000 This is America.
00:12:35.000 Dr. Carson, this election is unlike anything we've ever seen before.
00:12:48.000 It is the first time since the 1892 election where we have two independent presidential terms to compare and contrast.
00:12:57.000 In 1892, it was Grover Cleveland v. Benjamin Harrison.
00:13:01.000 Grover Cleveland served as president, and then Benjamin Harrison became president.
00:13:05.000 than people were able to compare both presidencies.
00:13:08.000 And then they went back to Grover Cleveland.
00:13:10.000 Donald Trump hopes to be the first president since Grover Cleveland and only one of two presidents
00:13:16.000 in our history to serve two non-consecutive terms.
00:13:20.000 Can you compare and contrast or tell the audience how you, how they should compare and contrast the four years
00:13:27.000 of Trump and the four years of Joe Biden?
00:13:29.000 Well, you should ask yourself, do you have more money to spend when you go to the store?
00:13:36.000 Do you have more money to spend when you go to buy gas for your car?
00:13:41.000 Think about that.
00:13:42.000 Do you feel safer walking down the street at night time?
00:13:47.000 You know, are you concerned about what's going on at the border?
00:13:51.000 You know, think about all these people who are coming into our country.
00:13:55.000 You know, the eight people from Tajikistan who were just found who had ISIS connections.
00:14:01.000 Those are the ones that we know about.
00:14:03.000 What about the ones that we don't know about?
00:14:06.000 And if the terrorists aren't coming into our country and planning something terrible, then they're not very good terrorists.
00:14:13.000 So, I mean, we have a lot to be concerned about, but we have an ace in the hole.
00:14:20.000 God.
00:14:21.000 We have God on our side.
00:14:26.000 Okay?
00:14:28.000 You know, if he was willing to spare Sodom and Gomorrah for the sake of ten people, we
00:14:43.000 got this.
00:14:44.000 Okay, but we have to do our part.
00:14:47.000 That's the part.
00:14:47.000 We have to do our part.
00:14:49.000 So, Dr. Carson, I'm so glad you brought that up.
00:14:51.000 And this is an audience that loves the Lord and wants to honor God and honor country.
00:14:56.000 What do you have to say, two parts, to the first part of the question I'll ask, to Christians who say, I think God is done with this country?
00:15:04.000 I think that our worst days are ahead.
00:15:06.000 How would you respond to that?
00:15:08.000 I would respond to that by saying, God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him cannot perish but have everlasting life.
00:15:19.000 And secondly, please Dr. Carson, so just really quick, here in Michigan, our data analysis
00:15:43.000 of Turning Point Action shows us that there are hundreds of thousands and close to maybe
00:15:49.000 even 500 to 750,000 Christians that don't vote and or they passively vote.
00:15:57.000 Even worse than that there are Christians that say, I don't know if I can vote for Donald Trump.
00:16:02.000 How would you respond to both of those?
00:16:04.000 Christians who don't vote or Christians that I would say the reason that we have the freedom that we have now and the ability to live in peace is because there were people before us who were willing to stand up for what they believed in.
00:16:24.000 many of them not just to vote, they gave their lives so that we could have freedom and peace in our country.
00:16:33.000 And I would ask them the question, what are you willing to do for your children?
00:16:43.000 Because what we do today will have a dramatic impact on the kind of life that they will have.
00:16:50.000 The debts that they have to pay, the people that they have to deal with, the principles that they will value or not value, depending on how we present them.
00:17:03.000 We've got to remember, this is the United States of America.
00:17:07.000 This is America.
00:17:08.000 We have the can-do spirit, not the what-can-you-do-for-me spirit.
00:17:13.000 That's what made us into a great nation.
00:17:15.000 But we have to play our part.
00:17:22.000 There are so many different forces at play here in this election.
00:17:26.000 We need to have the grassroots turn out in record numbers and do the work.
00:17:30.000 Register new voters.
00:17:32.000 Find low-propensity voters.
00:17:33.000 You might say, what is a low-propensity voter?
00:17:36.000 A low-propensity voter is your Uncle Frank who complains all the time that grocery prices are too high, that crime is going up, that the country is not what it used to be, but he doesn't vote.
00:17:48.000 That is a low-propensity voter.
00:17:50.000 Raise your hand if you know somebody like that in your life.
00:17:53.000 Every person raising your hand, you've got to go find that Uncle Frank, register him to vote, and tell him it is their duty to go vote for Donald Trump or I never want to hear your complaining ever again.
00:18:05.000 Dr. Carson, how do we best identify, register, find those low-propensity voters?
00:18:13.000 This election will be determined by whether or not we are able to translate the concern that the everyday American has for the direction of the country into ballots and votes.
00:18:26.000 All we have to do is get people to open their eyes and look and see what's going on.
00:18:32.000 Just like with Benjamin Harrison, And Grover Cleveland, it's the same situation.
00:18:37.000 We're fortunate in the sense that we've had these two administrations juxtaposed right next to each other.
00:18:45.000 You don't have to remember back 20 years or 30 years ago.
00:18:48.000 You just have to remember three or four years ago to see what was going on and what's going on now.
00:18:54.000 And we're going to continue down this downward spiral unless we change it.
00:18:58.000 And like I said, our founders gave us the ability to change it.
00:19:03.000 But we have to take advantage of that.
00:19:05.000 That is really the key right now.
00:19:08.000 It is all in our hands.
00:19:10.000 We have to talk about it.
00:19:12.000 Don't shy away from those conversations at the dinner table and in your neighborhoods.
00:19:18.000 go out there and proclaim the gospel of freedom in this country.
00:19:25.000 Thank you.
00:19:31.000 At Turning Point USA, our educational arm, we've been partnering with you and American Cornerstone, bringing Dr. Carson to college campuses across the country.
00:19:40.000 And he has been selling out auditoriums, by the way, and doing a great job.
00:19:48.000 What have you witnessed, seen, or maybe even learned from these college campus visits that might be helpful for our audience to hear?
00:19:58.000 Thrilled to see those young people because they recognize that the pathway that we're on right now will preclude them realizing the American dream.
00:20:09.000 They realize that we need to make a course correction.
00:20:14.000 They are willing to do that.
00:20:16.000 We all need to get behind them.
00:20:19.000 We're talking about their future.
00:20:21.000 You know, there are some older people here like myself.
00:20:24.000 You know, we've Realize the American dream.
00:20:28.000 Everything has worked well for us, and we're going to sell into the night and nothing's going to happen.
00:20:35.000 But 20 or 30 years from now, the things that we're putting in place right now will have a dramatic impact.
00:20:42.000 I think a lot of those college kids understand that, and that's why they are moving.
00:20:47.000 They're not listening to the lies anymore.
00:20:49.000 You can only listen to lies for so long.
00:20:52.000 And, you know, one of the things that happens before countries change into a Marxist regimen is they dumb down the population.
00:21:01.000 Have you noticed that?
00:21:03.000 When Alexis Tocqueville came here in 1831 to study our nation, he was blown away by the fact that he could find a mountain man in the middle of the forest and the guy could read.
00:21:14.000 The guy could tell him about the Declaration of Independence.
00:21:19.000 What do we have now?
00:21:20.000 You see those men on the street interviews and they ask them, you know, who won the Revolutionary War?
00:21:25.000 They don't even know what you're talking about.
00:21:27.000 They don't know who won any war.
00:21:29.000 They don't know who, what countries are next to our country.
00:21:34.000 They don't know anything.
00:21:35.000 I mean, it must hurt to be so stupid.
00:21:37.000 But the fact of the matter is, you have to dumb down the population first In order to get people who already have a wonderful situation to accept something worse than what they have.
00:21:54.000 And that's what they're doing.
