He also lays out the reasons why the Trump campaign should be worried about the possibility of a Biden loss and why they should run up the ante in order to have a good chance of winning in 2020. 00:01:26.000 Roger Stone, so what I appreciate you, Roger, many things, is that you are taking a sober view of this upcoming election.

00:01:35.000 You think that we might have a 50-50 shot.

00:01:37.000 What are you most worried about?

00:01:38.000 Well, first of all, I'm a veteran of 13 national— That's why I trust your opinion the most.

00:01:42.000 Right, and I've been in over 700 campaigns for public office.

00:01:46.000 And I think I'm very realistic about our chances.

00:01:51.000 We have a free, fair, honest, transparent election.

00:01:54.000 We'll win handsomely.

00:01:56.000 But there's no evidence that that's going to happen.

00:01:59.000 You can't really point to any state, other than getting rid of the drop boxes in Wisconsin, you can't point to any state where there have been very substantial election law reforms.

00:02:11.000 So if people steal a car and there are no consequences for stealing that car, what will they do?

00:02:16.000 They'll go out and steal another car.

00:02:19.000 Yes, I think we had an abnormal number of anomalies and irregularities and outright fraud in the last election.

00:02:27.000 And if we have that again, we could be cheated out of victory.

00:02:30.000 So, for those who say we need to run up the vote as much as possible, beat the cheat, too big to rig, I'm on board, absolutely.

00:02:39.000 Massive turnout, racking up as much numbers as possible, that's part of the solution.

00:02:45.000 But there are other parts to it.

00:02:47.000 So I take what you say very seriously.

00:02:49.000 Back in 2020, I remember you spoke at an event and you were warning about the 2020 election.

00:02:55.000 Well, a lot of people thought, oh, we're going to win.

00:02:57.000 The polls are all there.

00:02:58.000 He said, no, no, no.

00:02:58.000 We have a big, big problem here.

00:03:01.000 If you could give three pieces of advice that would be taken by the Trump campaign right now, what would they be?

00:03:07.000 Well, they've already got the best candidate in American political history.

00:03:10.000 Well, that's right.

00:03:11.000 And the best thing about the Trump campaign is Donald Trump, and they can't beat that because he's a phenomenon.

00:03:16.000 Look, I worked for Ronald Reagan.

00:03:18.000 Ronald Reagan was very popular, but he could not get, you know, 100,000 people at the New Jersey shore at Wildwood, New Jersey.

00:03:25.000 He could never do that.

00:03:26.000 It's unheard of.

00:03:27.000 So, first of all, I think there are chain of custody issues that have to do with paper ballots.

00:03:31.000 If we are stuck with paper ballots, and let's take Pennsylvania as an example, mail-in ballots were challenged there.

00:03:37.000 They are clearly unconstitutional.

00:03:39.000 It's not even a close case.

00:03:40.000 The lower courts knocked them out.

00:03:42.000 The middle courts continued to To avoid them, and then the State Supreme Court, which is extraordinarily political and left-wing, put them back in place.

00:03:52.000 So the Philadelphia machine is going to be back at it again with paper ballots, just to use that as an example.

00:03:59.000 So I think there are chain of custody issues that really need to be very aggressively addressed.

00:04:06.000 Then secondarily, the people at the National Republican Assembly, Which has been around since the 30s.

00:04:14.000 The California Republican Assembly was one of the seminal groups in Ronald Reagan's rise.

00:04:20.000 They have an excellent program to find bad addresses, meaning certified by the post office to be undeliverable.

00:04:28.000 So let's take Florida because I know it best.

00:04:30.000 You take all 15 million voters, you run it through the program, you find 1 million undeliverable addresses attached to voters.

00:04:39.000 And now you go to the 67 counties and you ask that those people be removed.

00:04:44.000 That needs to happen in every swing state.

00:04:46.000 There's two things that you can do right there.

00:04:49.000 And the failure to do that, why do you think that's so difficult or it's not getting done?

00:04:53.000 Because it seems so obvious.

00:04:54.000 First of all, I think it's a little too early to say that it is not being done.

00:04:58.000 I think some lawsuits are underway.

00:05:01.000 I think you have a new attitude at the Republican National Committee and things are getting better.

00:05:05.000 The real question is why didn't it happen over the last three years?

00:05:09.000 So yes, we're playing catch-up ball, but right now I think it's a mistake to form the firing squad in a circle.

00:05:16.000 No, I'm with you.

00:05:17.000 We all have to work very closely together to try to get these reforms.

00:05:20.000 Some of them are technologically more difficult.

00:05:24.000 I read Carrie Lake's submission to the Supreme Court.

00:05:28.000 Now, I'm not an attorney, but it appeared to me like, yes, there is a question about the security of these electronic voting machines.

00:05:38.000 In 2016, Just before Donald Trump's improbable victory, I wrote a piece for The Hill, which was then under different ownership, in which I talked about the vulnerability of the electronic voting machines and the fact that you could go to Best Buy and buy a device for about 25 bucks that would allow you to penetrate one of these machines.

00:05:58.000 It's just a computer, and they're not supposed to be centrally linked.

00:06:02.000 David Brock, these people came down, how dare you say electronic voting machines can be penetrated?

00:06:07.000 Then when Hillary lost, she filed three recounts in Michigan, Pennsylvania, I'm not sure what the third state was now, but in both cases her whole argument was that the machines had been corrupted. 0.69

00:06:19.000 You've seen the videos of Democrat after Democrat after Democrat saying that the machines can be corrupted.

00:06:25.000 So it's an area of concern.

00:06:28.000 Who do you think Donald Trump should choose as his Vice President?

00:06:32.000 If it were me?

00:06:32.000 If you're the senior advisor and you get to call the final shot.

00:06:36.000 I would take Tulsi Gabbard.

00:06:37.000 Okay, tell me why.

00:06:38.000 I would take Tulsi Gabbard because we need to get some new votes. 1.00

00:06:43.000 She is a lieutenant colonel in the U.S.

00:06:46.000 Army Reserve.

00:06:47.000 She's an Iraq and Kuwait combat veteran.

00:06:50.000 She's a championship surfer. 0.98

00:06:53.000 On the big issues, the war in Ukraine, Now, that's not to denigrate anyone else.

00:06:59.000 I love Ben Carson.

00:07:00.000 She is rock-solid. She's also, I think, very charismatic.

00:07:04.000 She's sure-footed in the sense that she's run for president before. Go watch her 1.00

00:07:11.000 debate with Kamala Harris and you'll see exactly why I would like to see her. 1.00

00:07:15.000 Now, that's not to denigrate anyone else. I love Ben Carson. I love Ben Carson.

00:07:20.000 I love Elise Stefanik, who I think's been very good on the issue of the

00:07:24.000 corruption of the New So I'm not against anyone, but if I had my choice, that's who I would choose.

00:07:32.000 So the issues in front of us, again, you're a campaign veteran, you see things before they happen.

00:07:38.000 Do you think we'll be running up against Joe Biden when it comes to November?

00:07:41.000 I do not, as I told your conference in Palm Beach.

00:07:45.000 I know.

00:07:45.000 I know your answer.

00:07:48.000 You've had a bold declaration.

00:07:49.000 And I'm not being rude.

00:07:50.000 I'm just handling event issues.

00:07:51.000 Perfectly alright.

00:07:54.000 Look, I believe that this debate coming up could be Joe Biden's Waterloo.

00:07:59.000 Yes, the stakes are very high for President Trump, but they're also very high for Joe Biden.

00:08:04.000 If he falls on his face, he's done.

00:08:07.000 I still believe that the leaders of the Democratic Party are increasingly uncomfortable with his ability

00:08:14.000 to get through a campaign.

00:08:17.000 To be clear, I've never said that Michelle Obama will run for president or wants to run for president.

00:08:24.000 What I believe is that if he releases his delegates and he lets the convention choose,

00:08:30.000 that's who they will choose.

00:08:32.000 And perhaps she can be persuaded that she is their strongest potential candidate to stop Donald Trump.

00:08:39.000 So I'm going to stick by my prediction.

00:08:41.000 Do I think she wants it?

00:08:42.000 No.

00:08:43.000 But I think she'll take it.

00:08:47.000 Hey everybody, Charlie Kirk here.

00:08:48.000 A movement to change how we elect our president is growing, led by radical left-wing activists who don't think their side should ever have to lose the presidency again.

00:08:57.000 It seeks to do away with the Electoral College as devised by the framers of our Constitution.

00:09:02.000 Today, 18 states have signed on to overhaul how presidents are elected.

00:09:07.000 That's why my friends at Hillsdale College are conducting a national survey on presidential selection.

00:09:12.000 Hearing directly from informed patriots like you is critical.

00:09:15.000 So please take their national survey on presidential selection today at charlieforhillsdale.com.

00:09:21.000 I'm a huge fan of Hillsdale College.

00:09:22.000 Their students are at the top and they're receiving the best educational available today.

00:09:26.000 It's America's greatest college.

00:09:28.000 Period.

00:09:29.000 Hillsdale's educational outreach program on behalf of Liberty are just tremendous.

00:09:32.000 I've taken so many of their online courses.

00:09:34.000 I plan to complete them all.

00:09:35.000 Now you can help Hillsdale understand the views of mainstream Americans on the critical issue of presidential selection, which will help Hillsdale in its future work defending Liberty.

00:09:44.000 Visit charlieforhillsdale.com to start your national survey on presidential selection.

00:09:48.000 charlieforhillsdale.com You are the expert of high stakes parliamentarianism.

00:09:58.000 You've done it many times.

00:09:59.000 You know how conventions operate.

00:10:00.000 Let's get into detail.

00:10:01.000 How would this work in Chicago?

00:10:03.000 That works very easily.

00:10:05.000 So Joe Biden releases his delegates.

00:10:07.000 So he has to then just, he has to release.

00:10:10.000 Yes, but again, he's not resigning as president.

00:10:13.000 He's simply announcing that he's not running again.

00:10:15.000 So you think that's possible?

00:10:16.000 Yes, and he blames his health, but who would be surprised, right?

00:10:19.000 Okay.

00:10:20.000 Okay, so now you go to an open convention in which any delegation or any delegate can put forward the name of any And in a showdown at that convention between, say, Michelle Obama and Gavin Newsom, I think that she's the overall emotional favorite.

00:10:43.000 She's the most popular Democrat in the country, other than her husband, and he's not eligible.

00:10:48.000 So mechanically, it's not that difficult.

00:10:50.000 Now the question is, what do we do with Kamala Harris? 0.54

00:10:54.000 Well, in any normal scenario, she would be next in line if the presidential candidate said he wasn't running.

00:11:03.000 She's the sitting vice president, but she makes even less sense than Joe.

00:11:09.000 And they know she can't win.

00:11:11.000 So it's really not that complicated.

00:11:14.000 Michelle and her husband offer Kamala a Supreme Court seat. 0.97

00:11:19.000 She is a former Attorney General of California.

00:11:23.000 She's no less qualified than the last person we put on the court. 1.00

00:11:27.000 She's actually probably more qualified. 0.96

00:11:28.000 She may well be.

00:11:29.000 Katanji Brown-Jackson.

00:11:30.000 She may well be.

00:11:31.000 So I think that's one way to resolve that issue.

00:11:36.000 Within their party, obviously race is very important.

00:11:40.000 Minorities are an important constituency, so she would be next in line.

00:11:45.000 The only way, as I said in Palm Beach, the only way you can replace a woman of color is with another more popular woman of color. 0.98

00:11:53.000 And so then, this convention floor knife fight, do you think that there would be kind of a council of elders before they let it break out in a backroom, super delicate type deal?

00:12:04.000 They bring Pelosi, they bring in Obama, they bring in Soros and Schumer and they figure this out.

00:12:09.000 Yes, only because the structure of their convention is very different than ours.

00:12:14.000 Explain that.

00:12:15.000 They have superdelegates.

00:12:16.000 So if you're a congressman or a senator or a state party chairman or a national committee person, for example, you're automatically a delegate.

00:12:24.000 Then if a state Is won by the Democrats by a specific margin, you get bonus superdelegates.

00:12:33.000 The superdelegates are all insiders.

00:12:35.000 The superdelegates are all party officials or elected officials.

00:12:39.000 So yes, it would look democratic, small d, on television, but it would be managed.

00:12:47.000 So, that ends up happening.

00:12:50.000 Let's say, let's play this out.

00:12:51.000 Trump v. Obama.

00:12:55.000 What are the odds?

00:12:56.000 Be the Caesar's Palace.

00:12:57.000 Set the wage.

00:12:58.000 I'm still with Trump, only because she is untested.

00:13:03.000 If you look at polls right now, he beats her fairly handily, but that's because she's not a candidate.

00:13:10.000 Interestingly enough, in 2016, also in 2012, when we took polls for Donald Trump, He did not fare particularly well, but he was completely unfazed.

00:13:20.000 And I said, why?

00:13:21.000 And he said, well, you don't understand, I'm not a candidate.

00:13:23.000 As soon as I become a candidate, these poll numbers will change.

00:13:26.000 I doubted that.

00:13:28.000 I was completely wrong.

00:13:29.000 As soon as he became a candidate, he skyrocketed in the polls.

00:13:32.000 So I don't think people see her in that context, which is why you have this gap.

00:13:40.000 It's very, very tricky to run against a woman at any level. 1.00

00:13:44.000 It's very tricky.

00:13:45.000 Come on.

00:13:45.000 Especially in today's times.

00:13:46.000 Unless it's Hillary Clinton, who's particularly despised. 0.99

00:13:49.000 No, and built in decades of... Of negatives.

00:13:52.000 Yeah, that's exactly right.

00:13:53.000 I think that's a unique situation.

00:13:54.000 And Michelle Obama is legitimately a juggernaut. 0.96

00:13:56.000 I mean, she sold like 20 million copies of her book or something.

00:14:00.000 And she also essentially has no public record to attack because she's never voted on anything.

00:14:05.000 That's right.

00:14:06.000 She could say, well, Joe Biden, that's not me.

00:14:07.000 I'm not responsible for his policies.

00:14:10.000 And other people, she would be uniquely that way.

00:14:13.000 Gavin Newsom would be tougher.

00:14:14.000 So out of Gavin, Gretchen, and Obama, you think Obama would be the toughest?

00:14:21.000 Yes, I actually do.

00:14:22.000 First of all, I think they have a problem replacing a black vice president or a woman of color with a white nominee within their party.

00:14:30.000 I just think that's problematic, which is why I still think their internal solution would be Michelle.

00:14:36.000 So, and by the way, I think it's a mistake for people to joke about that or people not take that seriously.

00:14:41.000 I think that's a grave, grave mistake.

00:14:43.000 Oh, I'm taking it very seriously.

00:14:45.000 I know you do, but not everybody does.

00:14:47.000 Because I think deeply about these things, as you do too.

00:14:50.000 And by the way, you should really take Roger Stone seriously.

00:14:53.000 He's been right about a lot of things for many years, and he's been in almost every major high-stakes political knife fight for a long time.

00:15:00.000 Bush v. Gore, Nixon.

00:15:01.000 You have a Nixon tattoo, don't you?

00:15:03.000 I do.

00:15:03.000 I have a tattoo of Nixon on my back.

00:15:08.000 It's about the size of a grapefruit.

00:15:10.000 It's like a floating head between my shoulder blades. 1.00

00:15:14.000 I'm the only man you know in the world with a dick on the front and the back. 1.00

00:15:20.000 That's Roger Stone. 1.00

00:15:22.000 Sorry.

00:15:23.000 But Roger, you faced the lawfare beast head-on.

00:15:26.000 I was happy and thrilled.

00:15:29.000 I advocated for your pardon both publicly and privately.

00:15:32.000 And I was thrilled that President Trump pardoned you.

00:15:34.000 And that was the right decision.

00:15:36.000 And it was so terrible that you got targeted.

00:15:40.000 And you're able to speak here because of that?

00:15:41.000 I'm alive because of it.

00:15:43.000 I mean, in all honesty, they're supposed to send you to a prison near your home.

00:15:48.000 They wanted me to go to a prison in Georgia.

00:15:49.000 I live in South Florida.

00:15:51.000 If you've read their sentencing memo, they wanted to give me seven to nine years because of my involvement in foreign election interference in our election, which is not what I was charged with or convicted of.

00:16:02.000 It is a completely rigged system, and as I said in my remarks today, The analogies between what they did to Trump and what they are doing to Trump right now and what they did to me are like, it's a perfect match.

00:16:13.000 That's why I bring it up.

00:16:14.000 And out of that struggle, I'm sure you develop some wisdom and you can start to see where things are going.

00:16:20.000 Do you think they're going to sentence Donald Trump to prison on July 11th?

00:16:23.000 Yes, I do.

00:16:24.000 Absolutely.

00:16:25.000 What does that look like?

00:16:26.000 How long?

00:16:26.000 What is the excuse?

00:16:27.000 Build it out.

00:16:28.000 Well, I mean, the judge has this complete authority and he has an ability now, a chance to become a liberal icon.

00:16:35.000 They're probably dangling a federal judgeship in front of him.

00:16:39.000 He could become the most popular, well-known Democrat in the country overnight.

00:16:43.000 He's also part of a faction of the Democratic Party that's been working on this for a long time.

00:16:49.000 So, most lawyers I know, they're not capable of thinking in political terms.

00:16:55.000 They say, well, yes.

00:16:56.000 First time offender.

00:16:58.000 The judge may give him jail time, but then he'll stay the sentence pending appeal.

00:17:02.000 He has no previous.

00:17:03.000 No.

00:17:04.000 This is all election interference.

00:17:06.000 So if the goal is to get him off the campaign trail, if the goal is to suck up his money in legal fees, if the goal is to continue to blacken his name, yes, I fear the absolute worst.

00:17:17.000 I pray that I'm wrong.

00:17:18.000 You think that he could be imprisoned before the election?

00:17:21.000 I think he could be imprisoned on July 12th.

00:17:24.000 How would he show up at the RNC the next week?

00:17:27.000 He'd have to do it virtually somehow.

00:17:30.000 I mean, these people are capable of absolutely anything.

00:17:34.000 So let's game that out.

00:17:35.000 And again, some of this is speculation.

00:17:38.000 Who would benefit?

00:17:39.000 It's that coibono, right?

00:17:41.000 Who benefits from Donald Trump being imprisoned on July 12th?

00:17:44.000 Well, I think it allows him to drive the whole convicted felon narrative, which is an important part. 0.91

00:17:52.000 There's four parts to their strategy.

00:17:54.000 Trump is a convicted felon.

00:17:56.000 January 6th, which is crumbling before your very eyes. 0.99

00:17:59.000 Yes.

00:18:00.000 Abortion.

00:18:01.000 The Republicans want to make abortion illegal every place.

00:18:04.000 That's not accurate.

00:18:05.000 That's not what the repeal of Roe v. Wade does.

00:18:09.000 And then they're going to come back because there's a subset of House Republicans who favor extending the age before you can receive your Social Security benefits and means testing outside income to potentially cut your benefits.

00:18:22.000 You can bet you're going to see TV commercials about that as well.

00:18:25.000 Even though that is not Donald Trump's position.

00:18:31.000 Yeah, he could become Mandela.

00:18:34.000 He could become our version of Mandela. 0.56

00:18:37.000 He becomes a martyr.

00:18:38.000 It would be an overreach.

00:18:41.000 But there's also the medium ground.

00:18:43.000 So what if they don't send him to Rikers Island, which is a hellhole?

00:18:47.000 You think they could send him to Rikers?

00:18:49.000 I most certainly think they could, sure.

00:18:51.000 The judge can do whatever he wants at this point.

00:18:53.000 But what if they give him home confinement?

00:18:56.000 He's confined to Trump Tower and he has to wear an ankle bracelet.

00:19:00.000 Well then it becomes like William McKinley's campaign of 1896.

00:19:03.000 If he can't come to us, we'll have to come to him.

00:19:06.000 People would have to make pilgrimages to where the president is.

00:19:10.000 I think it would be a horrific overreach.

00:19:16.000 Hey everybody, this month as we celebrate Father's Day, I'm reminded of my own dad.

00:19:20.000 He's a man of strong values, went to church, had family dinners, and we always honored the flag.

00:19:24.000 These values shaped our home.

00:19:26.000 My dad taught me to stand up for my beliefs, cherish loved ones, and appreciate our freedoms.

00:19:30.000 This Father's Day, I found a perfect way to honor him with an AMAC membership.

00:19:33.000 AMAC, the Association of Mature American Citizens, champions the values my father instilled in me, family, faith, and freedom.

00:19:40.000 amac.us slash charlie is the way you do that.

00:19:44.000 By joining AMAC, you support an organization that fights for these principles.

00:19:48.000 For June, you get a two-year membership for just $16.

00:19:51.000 Two years for the price of one.

00:19:53.000 Join me and thousands of others proud to be AMAC members.

00:19:56.000 Go to amac.us forward slash charlie.

00:19:59.000 Let's celebrate Father's Day by standing up for what our dads believe in.

00:20:03.000 Happy Father's Day, everybody.

00:20:04.000 And again, that is A-M-A-C dot U-S forward slash charlie.

00:20:10.000 Let's celebrate Father's Day together.

00:20:12.000 amac.us forward slash charlie.

00:20:17.000 Tell us about the 1896 election.

00:20:19.000 Well, basically, William McKinley would come out on his porch and delegates would come from all around the country.

00:20:25.000 Why couldn't he travel?

00:20:26.000 It just wasn't done that way.

00:20:28.000 Two things.

00:20:28.000 First of all, you didn't go to the convention.

00:20:31.000 The convention met, nominated you, and then they sent a messenger to tell you you had been nominated.

00:20:36.000 And then you wrote a letter back of acceptance.

00:20:39.000 That's how it worked.

00:20:39.000 It's probably a better country.

00:20:41.000 And candidates did not actively campaign.

00:20:45.000 I mean, you had campaigns on their behalf, but a presidential candidate It would be unseemly. You would come out on your porch and

00:20:52.000 there'll be several thousand people today. It would be Arkansas. Tomorrow it

00:20:56.000 would be California.

00:20:57.000 The next day it would be Tennessee. People would make a pilgrimage to where

00:21:00.000 McKinley went. He would give a speech. He would give a speech.

00:21:05.000 And this is before TV and so the newspapers would write it up.

00:21:08.000 Right, and newspapers would get handed from person to person all the way to California.

00:21:13.000 So most of the papers were published in the East.

00:21:15.000 Once you finished reading a paper, that was valuable.

00:21:18.000 You gave it to someone else who read it and then gave it to someone else.

00:21:22.000 The guy, Mark Hanna, was the Republican National Chairman.

00:21:26.000 He was the Ohio Chairman.

00:21:27.000 He really created the political career of William McKinley.

00:21:32.000 His contribution to politics is the handbill.

00:21:36.000 He's the first guy who invented the handbill.

00:21:39.000 Just a piece of paper that extolled the virtues of your candidate.

00:21:43.000 We had the most aggressive grassroots campaign for William McKinley in the party's history.

00:21:50.000 He was a public relations executive before he became a party boss.

00:21:53.000 Just out of curiosity, when did that change?

00:21:55.000 William Jennings Bryan, the whole idea of populist conventions?

00:21:58.000 Soon after that, right?

00:21:59.000 Well, but even Franklin Roosevelt did not go to the 1944 convention to accept his nomination.

00:22:06.000 He didn't go to any of his conventions.

00:22:08.000 So it slowly, with the advent of television, is what it changed.

00:22:13.000 And basically, as you know, conventions became television shows, which is what they really are.

00:22:19.000 So let's say that Trump can participate in his convention.

00:22:26.000 What should the themes be?

00:22:27.000 You've been to so many of these things.

00:22:29.000 Since it's a made-for-television spectacle, what's the story?

00:22:31.000 What's the visual?

00:22:32.000 What's the aesthetic?

00:22:33.000 What are the stories that you think should be told?

00:22:35.000 Storytellers.

00:22:37.000 I think it's about peace.

00:22:39.000 It's about prosperity.

00:22:41.000 It's about security.

00:22:42.000 And then we also have to take the opportunity to clarify our position on life and to clarify our position on Social Security, which is, yes, it's immunization, but you know those attacks are coming, so you might as well deal with them up front.

00:22:56.000 The convention will be very, very well watched.

00:22:58.000 If they put Trump in home confinement, that VP selection is even more important.

00:23:04.000 I totally agree with that.

00:23:06.000 Look, there's two schools of thought here, OK?

00:23:08.000 There's one school of thought.

00:23:10.000 President Nixon himself once told me, look, when you're looking for a running mate, don't look for someone who will help you.

00:23:16.000 Just find someone who doesn't hurt you.

00:23:19.000 That's one way of thinking of it.

00:23:20.000 The other one is to find somebody who brings some constituency, some group to the table.

00:23:27.000 That rarely works.

00:23:29.000 That's true.

00:23:29.000 It does rarely work.

00:23:30.000 It backfires more than it works.

00:23:31.000 But then, you know what?

00:23:32.000 No billionaire businessman has ever been elected President of the United States, David.

00:23:36.000 No, for sure.

00:23:36.000 So the rules are changing.

00:23:37.000 So the game plan typically is, if you're the insurgent rebel candidate, the Leviathan and the machinery makes you take their guy as the VP.

00:23:47.000 Reagan with Bush.

00:23:49.000 I think those days are over.

00:23:51.000 So the idea of ticket balancing... Okay, so then who would be detriment?

00:23:55.000 Like, for example, Marco Rubio is being considered, or others.

00:23:58.000 Who would be like, no, Nikki Haley would be awful. 1.00

00:24:01.000 I think we can all agree, right?

00:24:02.000 There's one I can agree with.

00:24:03.000 Look, I'm not going to criticize my own... But Nikki... Yes, Nikki I'm happy to criticize.

00:24:07.000 I'm not going to criticize my home state senator.

00:24:10.000 No, I'm not asking you to criticize, I'm just asking.

00:24:12.000 But I do think, if you look at the criteria, so what are you looking for?

00:24:16.000 First of all, you want somebody who the American people can look at and recognize that they have the stature, the gravitas, the experience, the judgment, the temperament to actually be president if that becomes necessary.

00:24:30.000 Then secondarily, or maybe this is first, you want somebody who is an America first Republican.

00:24:36.000 Someone who's a non-establishment Republican.

00:24:39.000 Someone, in my opinion, who is not a neocon.

00:24:43.000 Then, once those considerations, you want somebody who's sure-footed.

00:24:48.000 Somebody who has been through a national campaign and has the experience in the national press.

00:24:54.000 In 1960, Richard Nixon was prevailed upon by President Eisenhower to take Henry Cabot Lodge, the UN ambassador, former senator from Massachusetts, as his running mate.

00:25:05.000 Nixon was in Alabama campaigning the day that Lodge announced in California that if Nixon and Lodge were elected, the cabinet would have, using his words, would have a Negro in it. 0.71

00:25:17.000 This was news to Nixon.

00:25:18.000 Nixon said, we don't choose people on the basis of the color of their skin.

00:25:21.000 We choose people on the basis of their qualifications.

00:25:25.000 It became a three-day thing because Lodge had never told Nixon he was going to pop this out.

00:25:32.000 It's just one example.

00:25:34.000 So you need someone who understands that it's a supporting role.

00:25:40.000 Particularly with Donald Trump.

00:25:41.000 See, it used to be the candidate for president would remain above the fray, and the candidate for vice president would do the heavy attack work on the Democrats.

00:25:49.000 Well, Donald Trump is his own attack machine.

00:25:52.000 He's a brawler.

00:25:54.000 He will take the fight right to the Democrats.

00:25:57.000 So that model is now outdated.

00:26:00.000 Let's be candid.

00:26:01.000 Mike Pence was perfect right up until the moment that he wasn't.

00:26:06.000 And so it's conceivable that in September, Trump was unable to campaign, so they take the rallies from him.

00:26:13.000 We might all have to make pilgrimages to New York.

00:26:16.000 Or Florida.

00:26:17.000 If they give him Florida for home arrest.

00:26:20.000 Again, it's up to one judge.

00:26:21.000 This judge, I'm sure, I'm sure they're lobbying him heavily, and he has to weigh it.

00:26:26.000 If he does the aggressive thing, does it help the Democrats?

00:26:29.000 And that's, you can make arguments either way.

00:26:32.000 Well, but there are radicals within their group, I think, who have already overreached and they don't recognize it.

00:26:39.000 I think there are saner voices who will see this as an overreach, but we should not think that all thought in their party is monolithic any more than it is in ours.

00:26:49.000 Roger, you're a creative thinker.

00:26:51.000 We'll close with this.

00:26:52.000 What ideas or principles or policies should the Republican Party embrace to broaden the tent or solve some big issues we're facing?

00:26:59.000 I personally think that given Joe Biden's record on criminal justice reform, and given the First Step Act and the Second Chance Act, there's more to be done in that area.

00:27:12.000 But I don't think the President has gotten the credit he deserves for reforms in that area.

00:27:20.000 I think we can make deep incursions among African American voters. 1.00

00:27:24.000 Based on our record, the lowest level of black unemployment in American history.

00:27:30.000 The real serious criminal justice reform, which most of the members of the House Democratic Caucus have been talking about for 30 years, but then voted against it only because it was proposed by Donald Trump.

00:27:43.000 And then lastly, to be somewhat forward-looking, and I think the President's already done this, Yes, we should not be opposed to cryptocurrency.

00:27:51.000 I'm very pro-crypto.

00:27:53.000 We should embrace Bitcoin.

00:27:55.000 The government should not have a monopoly on our money.

00:27:57.000 It's that simple.

00:27:58.000 If you are skeptical of crypto, I can win you over that simply.

00:28:01.000 The government should not have a monopoly on our currency.

00:28:04.000 Do you trust the government?

00:28:05.000 No.

00:28:05.000 Therefore, it should be decentralized so that we can control the currency.

00:28:09.000 Agreed, 100%.

00:28:12.000 Yeah, well, that's the same thing.

00:28:13.000 Gold, silver, it's all the same sort of thing.

00:28:14.000 Crypto is basically a digital equivalent.

00:28:17.000 The same principles that make gold valuable is the same principles that make Bitcoin valuable.

00:28:21.000 There's only so much of it.

00:28:23.000 You know where it is and you can't touch it, but you can transact with it.

00:28:26.000 Roger, how can people support you and get behind you?

00:28:29.000 They go to stonezone.com.
