00:01:49.000 Well, Charlie, so thank you for coming to Indiana.
00:01:52.000 Thank you for loving our nation the way that you do.
00:01:55.000 I just want to give you a chance to share your heart.
00:01:58.000 What makes you tick?
00:01:59.000 What do you think our greatest battle is right now?
00:02:01.000 And what do we here in Indiana, grassroots community, what do we do to turn back the tide of this radical left?
00:02:08.000 Well, first, I just love Indiana.
00:02:10.000 What a great place.
00:02:13.000 I grew up in Illinois, and coming to Indiana, it reminds me what Illinois used to be in some ways.
00:02:19.000 Because there's so many people from Illinois that moved here that were great patriots.
00:02:23.000 Now, many of you know this, being from Illinois, we have term limits in Illinois.
00:02:26.000 It's different than most states.
00:02:28.000 It's one term in office, one term in jail.
00:02:30.000 So when we ask for our governor's cell number, actually mean his cell number.
00:02:39.000 I got one more.
00:02:42.000 My grandmother was a lifelong Republican, passed away in the mid-1990s from Chicago.
00:02:48.000 She's been voting Democrat ever since.
00:02:52.000 Indiana was always the state that I envied the most.
00:02:56.000 Can you tell the story real quick?
00:02:58.000 I didn't know this until you were speaking tonight over at the church at the meet and greet.
00:03:02.000 And you said something that blew my mind.
00:03:05.000 You liked Indiana so much that what did you do?
00:03:08.000 Yes, so it's interesting.
00:03:10.000 On a technical basis, this is true.
00:03:13.000 If you just look at any of our Turning Point USA 990 forms, so Illinois was becoming increasingly oppressive and authoritarian, and I wasn't really trusting who was running the Illinois government for good reason.
00:03:23.000 I think you would all agree.
00:03:25.000 And so I started to see some behavior from people across the country targeting groups like Project Veritas or targeting the pro-life groups in California from state-based attorney generals.
00:03:35.000 And I was like, I don't want this to happen in Illinois.
00:03:37.000 So I called one of my board members.
00:03:39.000 I said, we need to go and change our headquarters to a friendly state.
00:03:42.000 And he's like, all right, where?
00:03:44.000 I said, well, Indiana, obviously, right?
00:03:46.000 So if you look at our Turning Point USA 990 forms, we're headquartered in Crown Point, Indiana, if anyone's asking, actually.
00:03:56.000 Amazing.
00:03:57.000 And it was because of Attorney Jennifer Curtis Hill.
00:04:00.000 Because it was a sane constitutional defender that actually believed in the rule of law.
00:04:05.000 And so it's great to be home, I guess.
00:04:08.000 So how cool is that?
00:04:09.000 And our offices are in Phoenix, Arizona.
00:04:12.000 But like many people, I was like, I don't feel comfortable in Illinois.
00:04:15.000 So we got out pretty quickly.
00:04:16.000 But Indiana's always had the hardest working people, Midwestern work ethic, amazing values, very, very well-run state.
00:04:24.000 And I think that Indiana needs to continue to push back against Washington, D.C., this woke nonsense that's happening in our country.
00:04:30.000 We'll talk about that.
00:04:32.000 You asked about kind of why I do what I do.
00:04:34.000 I gave my life to the Lord in fifth grade, and it was the most important decision I made in my life.
00:04:40.000 I have always had a heart for liberty, and I've never liked bullies, and especially I don't like tyrants that have a lot of power that people then give them.
00:04:51.000 And so I've always kind of been trying to push back against that my entire life.
00:04:55.000 When I grew up, I was told in the church that politics and religion must be separate.
00:04:59.000 I'm sure a lot of you have heard this or go to churches where this is kind of taught.
00:05:04.000 And that's okay, because I believed that for a long time.
00:05:07.000 I always had my political views when I started Turning Point USA in June of 2012.
00:05:11.000 I was a Christian, but I always made sure to make it separate.
00:05:14.000 Like I would never blur the two things together.
00:05:16.000 I would never mention them.
00:05:18.000 And I really kind of had all of that challenge when I met my now pastor, Rob McCoy, that you mentioned, where I realized that if we're talking about what is right and wrong, we're talking about morals, we're talking about values, we're talking about truth, how is that separate than our faith?
00:05:32.000 In fact, it's in harmony with our faith because our faith instructs what is good, what is moral, and what is true.
00:05:39.000 And so then I was told by many pastors before, you know, nowhere in the Bible does it say you should get involved in politics.
00:05:44.000 Nowhere in the Bible you should do this.
00:05:46.000 And that's just not true.
00:05:47.000 In Jeremiah 29, 7, it says, you must demand the welfare of the nation or the city that you are in because your welfare is tied to your nation's welfare.
00:05:56.000 That's the Lord speaking to the people of Israel.
00:05:58.000 And some pastors will say, oh, nowhere in the Bible are there people that got involved in politics.
00:06:03.000 Well, then what do you do with Esther, Mordecai, Nehemiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, or Joseph, just the name of you?
00:06:09.000 All throughout the scriptures, there are people that are God's chosen people trying to influence secular government for his purpose.
00:06:17.000 And in fact, we as Christians are called to be salt and light in every arena.
00:06:21.000 And that includes whether or not we're going to talk about government.
00:06:24.000 And so I'm very clear about what matters most, right?
00:06:28.000 We must always prioritize our time, our treasure, our resources in a series of hierarchies, right?
00:06:34.000 We as Christians believe in that.
00:06:36.000 The ultimate most important thing, the most important thing we can do in our life is accept Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and get other people to do that as well.
00:06:42.000 That's the most important thing we can do.
00:06:45.000 And so, but my day job is the second most important thing.
00:06:50.000 What I do my three podcasts a day on, when I do my radio show, when I visit college campuses, so you don't have to, it's about the second most important thing, which is to make sure you could do the first thing.
00:07:00.000 Amen.
00:07:01.000 That if we act as if politics mean nothing, we act as if government means nothing, then we're all going to be sharing our theological opinions from prison.
00:07:09.000 And that's not an over-exaggeration.
00:07:11.000 And all throughout the scriptures, there is a theme where God's heart for his people is to set us free.
00:07:17.000 Liberty is not man's idea.
00:07:18.000 It's God's idea.
00:07:19.000 He does not want you to be a slave to addiction.
00:07:22.000 He does not want you to be controlled by a tyrant.
00:07:25.000 Jesus came here to set us free.
00:07:27.000 And God's heart for us here on earth is not to live under despotic tyrants or authoritarians that are telling us how to live our life, how to worship, how to make choices or decisions.
00:07:38.000 Liberty is the pursuit of virtue.
00:07:40.000 And so I believe at this time, because all times are different, this particular time, we as Christians have a moral obligation to fight for liberty against tyranny and rise up and it must start in the church.
00:07:51.000 Amen.
00:07:52.000 Kate.
00:07:56.000 Do you want to come to our church on Sunday and just preach for me?
00:07:59.000 Because I feel like you do an amazing job.
00:08:01.000 I'm like, yes, yes, this is amazing.
00:08:03.000 Okay, I love your understanding of the American church because you've really traveled this nation.
00:08:11.000 I mean, every corner of this nation.
00:08:12.000 You go, I mean, 330 days a year, you are on the road going to places in America.
00:08:18.000 You said something in one of your podcasts not too long ago about three types of churches.
00:08:25.000 And I want you to hit on that because you're seeing this.
00:08:27.000 I think I felt this as a pastor for many years.
00:08:30.000 I'm like, oh my goodness.
00:08:32.000 When you laid it out the way you did, I said, yes, that's exactly what I noticed 10 years ago was happening.
00:08:37.000 And for you to kind of put words to it, it like made my heart leap out of my chest.
00:08:41.000 Could you explain to us about the three churches that you're seeing?
00:08:44.000 Yeah, so there's three types of churches.
00:08:45.000 It's the three C's, and we'll go through it.
00:08:47.000 And I'm going to say this rather bluntly and plainly.
00:08:50.000 You know my heart.
00:08:51.000 If I offend you, sorry, I guess.
00:08:55.000 We're just going to be honest.
00:08:56.000 We're running out of time.
00:08:58.000 This political correct stuff is a bunch of garbage.
00:09:00.000 Okay.
00:09:01.000 So look, number one, let's start with the good, the courageous church.
00:09:04.000 Good pastors like Micah.
00:09:06.000 He's doing an amazing job.
00:09:07.000 Pastors that are standing up for truth.
00:09:10.000 Now, the courageous church is willing to stand up against government lockdowns and tyranny.
00:09:16.000 The courageous church is willing to instruct their congregation about all the decisions they have to make.
00:09:21.000 How do I marry?
00:09:22.000 Who do I marry?
00:09:24.000 How do I organize my finances?
00:09:25.000 Who do I vote for?
00:09:27.000 Right?
00:09:27.000 Is it a good or bad thing that I'm gambling?
00:09:29.000 The church must equip the congregation, the flock, with answers about all of these otherwise confusing issues.
00:09:35.000 The courageous church does not care what the New York Times says.
00:09:38.000 The courageous church does not care about what the activists say.
00:09:41.000 The courageous church doesn't care if people walk out of sermons because you might have said something they don't like.
00:09:46.000 A courageous church does not look at success through budgets and buildings, which the most of the American church does, by the way.
00:09:55.000 Instead, they say, how many souls are we winning?
00:09:57.000 Are we proclaiming truth?
00:09:58.000 The courageous church is the vast minority of churches in America.
00:10:02.000 And just like courage in general is very hard to find, the courageous church is a growing but small community, and we're trying to help grow that at TPUSA Faith.
00:10:12.000 The second type of church is the cowardly church.
00:10:15.000 They're the church that knows what they should do, but they don't do it.
00:10:19.000 And they'll say the following couple of excuses.
00:10:21.000 We only do the gospel around here.
00:10:24.000 So do I.
00:10:25.000 And I believe the gospel is about creating disciples, not converts of all nations.
00:10:30.000 And discipleship goes deep.
00:10:33.000 Discipleship means you're going to equip people to make good decisions in every arena of life, including what kind of government you're going to have.
00:10:38.000 Don't tell me it's unimportant.
00:10:40.000 Don't tell me it doesn't matter.
00:10:41.000 More people have died from bad government the last hundred years than anything else.
00:10:44.000 So if you don't care about government, a lot of suffering can happen.
00:10:47.000 As we, as Christians, should try to limit suffering.
00:10:49.000 We should care for the least amongst us.
00:10:51.000 If you have bad government, oppressive government, tyrannical government, well, look what happened in the last couple years.
00:10:57.000 The lockdowns, the suicides, the mental health issues that are all byproducts of bad government policy and the type of system that we had.
00:11:05.000 The cowardly church, and here's my call for a lot of you.
00:11:07.000 If you have a pastor, if you are a pastor here in this audience that refuses to speak out at all about these issues, I want to challenge you because you can make a decision immediately to go from the cowardly to the courageous.
00:11:17.000 And for those of you that might be on an elder board, you might be tithing to a church and you're like, man, I'm not getting it out of my pastor.
00:11:22.000 They're quiet on this.
00:11:23.000 They say the Bible doesn't say anything about abortion.
00:11:25.000 They haven't mentioned Roe v. Wade.
00:11:27.000 They don't communicate about this stuff.
00:11:29.000 They won't do a July 4th service about the brilliance and the magic and the exceptional nature of how God gave us the gift of America.
00:11:35.000 They won't even dare do anything to honor our veterans.
00:11:37.000 Then you got to go challenge that cowardly pastor.
00:11:39.000 Do it lovingly and directly and compassionately, but ask for a coffee, ask for a meeting, and look that pastor in the eyes.
00:11:45.000 And you can listen to our library of podcasts and videos to give you the information necessary.
00:11:51.000 But have the conviction to do it and be like, hey, why don't you do a July 4th service just to say, thank you, Lord.
00:11:55.000 Lord, we live in the freest, greatest country ever.
00:11:57.000 Why don't you do that?
00:11:59.000 And don't give me this whole thing about, well, you know, we only do the gospel.
00:12:03.000 It says in Philippians 4:8, whatever is good, whatever is true, whatever is beautiful, think on these things.
00:12:07.000 America is good and it's worthy of appreciation and praise and thanks to the Lord because we're stewards of this nation.
00:12:13.000 The cowardly pastor cares more about the budgets and whether or not he offends a vast minority of people rather than proclaiming truth to the body that so sorely needs it right now.
00:12:24.000 And I just want to just kind of challenge that cowardly pastor and say, Where is your line?
00:12:29.000 Because there are 14 and 15-year-olds right now in high schools that are being taught there's no difference than a man and a woman.
00:12:34.000 There's 11-year-olds that are being prescribed puberty blockers that will do irreversible damage because of these lot the lies that are being pushed forward.
00:12:41.000 If the church won't say clearly what a man and what a woman is, why do we expect secular society to do that?
00:12:47.000 The church must lead on these issues.
00:12:49.000 Not to mention, as we are now knocking on the doorsteps of a goal that would have otherwise seemed unreachable, which is the reversal of Roe versus Wade.
00:12:57.000 After the slaughter of innocent life over the last 40 or 50 years, pastors need to be leaning in to this issue and educating on it properly.
00:13:06.000 So that's the cowardly.
00:13:07.000 Now, believe it or not, there's an even worse category, which is, I yearn for the cowardly over this, which is the complicit.
00:13:15.000 The complicit church is the one that has the LGBT flag outside of their church.
00:13:18.000 You all know what I'm talking about.
00:13:21.000 It's the church that has the BLM flag.
00:13:23.000 They were quick to go mobilize their congregation to fight systemic racism, whatever that is, but they remain quiet when it comes to the issues of the transgender or the unborn.
00:13:33.000 Or they won't take controversial stands unless it's been approved by all the right media members.
00:13:38.000 They're the ones that say that Jesus would want you to take the vaccine.
00:13:42.000 You've all heard these sermons.
00:13:44.000 They're complicit with the narrative and the agenda.
00:13:48.000 Now, these pastors, I'll be very honest, I'm working on this.
00:13:51.000 I'm very honest about my shortcomings, okay?
00:13:54.000 No, I'm true.
00:13:54.000 We all deserve forgiveness.
00:13:56.000 I have very little patience for these people, okay?
00:14:00.000 Patience is not one of your spiritual gifts.
00:14:02.000 No, it's not.
00:14:02.000 Running out of time.
00:14:03.000 We've got to do stuff, okay?
00:14:05.000 I'm going to be honest, right?
00:14:07.000 Which is like the gloves kind of come off.
00:14:09.000 Like, if you're in the ministry, like just outwardly spreading lies for Instagram likes because you're some kind of weird, like skinny gene-wearing, like TED Talk pastor.
00:14:17.000 No, don't.
00:14:17.000 Okay, I was just saying it.
00:14:19.000 Okay.
00:14:19.000 All right.
00:14:20.000 You're fine.
00:14:20.000 Hey.
00:14:22.000 No, no, no.
00:14:23.000 I have some skinny.
00:14:24.000 They always give me a hard time on Sundays.
00:14:27.000 Skinny legs, not skinny jeans, okay?
00:14:29.000 I'm sorry.
00:14:31.000 He passes the test tonight.
00:14:32.000 He's right on the line.
00:14:34.000 And the no-sock thing is very questionable, but that's okay.
00:14:40.000 Hey, this is summer for us here, man.
00:14:43.000 Okay?
00:14:44.000 Like, this is awesome weather outside.
00:14:45.000 I'm being completely stereotypical and accurate, by the way.
00:14:49.000 So, but if that's more important to you.
00:14:58.000 Oh, yes, go on.
00:14:59.000 Go on.
00:15:02.000 Micah aside, then most people should leave the ministry.
00:15:06.000 And I mean that, which is that you are not in the ministry to get Instagram likes or social media followers or to go sell books.
00:15:12.000 You're there to proclaim truth.
00:15:13.000 You're going to bring people closer to ultimate meaning.
00:15:16.000 And I'm afraid that the church far too often has become this kind of celebrity contest of people that are always trying to joust what the world thinks and not what the word says.
00:15:24.000 So the complicit church requires, in my personal opinion, direct challenging from the body of Christ and asking these pastors, whoa, whoa, whoa, it'd be better if you said nothing than you said all this nonsense.
00:15:34.000 And I could go through the names of these pastors and there are these national pastors that do this, and it's so disappointing.
00:15:39.000 And unfortunately, so the most amount of churches are cowardly, then complicit, and then courageous.
00:15:44.000 And so my heart at TPUSA Faith is try to make the courageous more empowered and to grow more courageous pastors and more courageous churches in any way we possibly can, try to shrink the complicit and try to shrink the cowardly because courage begets courage, right?
00:15:59.000 But here's the thing.
00:16:00.000 Here's how I know that we're trending the right way.
00:16:02.000 The last two years, lockdowns, all these different things, the churches that have taken stances on these issues, the ones that have decided to proclaim the truth and not care about the cost in an ironic, paradoxical way, their ties have gone up and their membership have gone up.
00:16:19.000 And I can tell you it is the rule in every corner of the country.
00:16:24.000 We've seen that at Life Church.
00:16:26.000 It's been amazing.
00:16:27.000 I know Pastor Rob McCoy has seen that.
00:16:29.000 I mean, God has blessed our church in amazing ways.
00:16:33.000 Tithes have gone up.
00:16:34.000 The membership has gone up.
00:16:35.000 We've seen, like, churches are closing their doors right now in our community.
00:16:39.000 And we're looking around and be like, this has been an amazing season of growth for us.
00:16:43.000 And I think it's because Pastor Nathan just said, I'm not going to sit idly by and stay quiet because the world's telling me to be quiet.
00:16:50.000 And that's what's driving God's spirit is being poured out on those types of churches.
00:16:54.000 Amen.
00:16:54.000 And the church has to be the place where the body goes for answers.
00:16:58.000 So when the church is cowardly or quiet or silent, then the mom that is right here in this audience right now that gets the question from your 15-year-old that just saw a TikTok video saying, hey, why is it wrong that you can choose your gender again?
00:17:10.000 And you go to your pastor and the pastor says, sorry, we don't do that around here.
00:17:13.000 That is a failure to your congregation.
00:17:15.000 The church needs to have the boldness and the ability and the knowledge to go to that mom and say, hey, let me tell you what.
00:17:21.000 Let me tell you what the scriptures say about gender.
00:17:23.000 Let me tell you what the scientific data shows you about gender dysphoria.
00:17:26.000 Let me tell you about how just because you feel something, it doesn't mean you are something, but how it says in the scriptures, your heart will actually lead you astray.
00:17:34.000 And so this is where I think the church has an opportunity.
00:17:37.000 And if the mom who goes to the pastor doesn't get it from the pastor, she'll go somewhere else.
00:17:43.000 She'll go to some weird like Oprah Winfrey self-help book or something.
00:17:47.000 Seriously, some sort of like Eastern Buddhist meditative podcast or something.
00:17:51.000 No, seriously.
00:17:52.000 Or she'll go to the view.
00:17:53.000 Yeah, exactly.
00:17:56.000 And which is a very real thing, which is they're going to seek counsel somewhere.
00:18:03.000 And so, look, there's an intentional spirit of confusion that is trying to come across our land right now.
00:18:10.000 And I think pastors and churches are seeing one of the great opportunities to lead the lost and lead the confused towards truth and towards the natural law and anchor them to reality and certainty.
00:18:21.000 Amen.
00:18:21.000 I love it.
00:18:22.000 So you're in academia a lot.
00:18:24.000 I mean, that's kind of your wheelhouse.
00:18:26.000 You've seen colleges really push this left-leaning agenda.
00:18:31.000 You've seen it now trickle down into high schools and even middle schools and elementary schools.
00:18:37.000 What is going on?
00:18:38.000 We've got a lot of young people in the audience right now or watching over at, this is being streamed over at our Life Church Noblesville campus as well.
00:18:44.000 And we know that there's a group of students over there watching.
00:18:48.000 They're getting ready to step out into this.
00:18:50.000 What would you tell them saying, okay, this is what you're going to hit when you go to college?
00:18:54.000 Or maybe you're in a high school right now, even in Hamilton County in the central Indiana.
00:18:58.000 We are seeing radical, nonsensical ideology being pushed down the throats of our children, totally void of their parents, okay?
00:19:07.000 And students or parents are being told to get out of school boardrooms.
00:19:11.000 Don't tell us what you think, mom and dad.
00:19:13.000 This is not your job to teach the kids.
00:19:16.000 Let us do whatever we do with your kid three eight hours a day, and you don't get a right to say what you want us to do.
00:19:22.000 And what would you say to the students that are getting ready to step out and the parents that are in that situation right now?
00:19:27.000 How do we combat this, Charlie?
00:19:29.000 Yeah, so let me just first make some positive, and then I'm going to indict college because that's kind of what I do.
00:19:34.000 So just be a lifelong learner, okay?
00:19:38.000 You don't need to go to college to learn.
00:19:40.000 The amazing part of where we are in the world is you can listen to podcasts, take online courses from Hillsdale College, read books, be a lifelong learner.
00:19:50.000 The more, the old quote, which many of you know, the more I know, the more I really realize how little I know when I thought I knew it all.
00:19:55.000 And that's something that we should all embrace, which is my favorite part of my day is when I turn my phone on airplane mode and I do my two hours of learning.
00:20:01.000 Hillsdale courses, Victor Davis-Hanson articles, whatever it is, I love diving into there's two types of knowledge, right?
00:20:07.000 There's practical knowledge and then there's eternal knowledge.
00:20:10.000 Practical knowledge is who's the governor of Michigan, who's the governor of Indiana.
00:20:13.000 These are things that can change.
00:20:15.000 Eternal knowledge is knowledge of things that never change.
00:20:18.000 They'll be true today, they'll be true 200 years from now, and they were true 200 years prior.
00:20:22.000 Eternal knowledge is rooted in the Bible, which of course we call wisdom.
00:20:26.000 Eternal knowledge is wisdom.
00:20:27.000 Our schools almost never touch on eternal knowledge and they're hyper-focused on practical knowledge, okay?
00:20:32.000 So I just want to just first say, please, for the students out there, the parents out there, be lifelong learners.
00:20:37.000 If you want to fight for liberty, and I see the great Moms for Liberty shirt up front, they do a wonderful job.
00:20:42.000 Such a good job, by the way.
00:20:43.000 They're targeted by the FBI.
00:20:44.000 That's how good of a job they're doing.
00:20:46.000 No, and I'll get to that in a second.
00:20:47.000 It's unbelievable what's happened.
00:20:48.000 Is that if you want to protect liberty, you must make learning one of your top priorities.
00:20:52.000 And this kind of surprises people because they're like, oh, Charlie got it all figured out.
00:20:56.000 Like, do you know everything about the World Health Assembly and the World Economic Forum?
00:20:59.000 Do you know everything that they're doing?
00:21:00.000 The World Economic Forum, our governor just went there two days ago.
00:21:05.000 And just so you know, yeah, there were a lot of people like, what the heck is Indiana's governor doing in Switzerland right now?
00:21:11.000 I didn't know that, but I did know.
00:21:13.000 I did know that he vetoed the transgender bill.
00:21:15.000 Oh, my God.
00:21:16.000 Which, by the way, they overturned his veto, I believe.
00:21:19.000 Which is awesome.
00:21:23.000 And he's a Republican.
00:21:27.000 I have gone after your governor totally.
00:21:29.000 He's a waste of time.
00:21:31.000 And so, no, you go to the World Economic Forum, you're whining and dining amongst some of the most evil and terrible people the planet has to offer.
00:21:38.000 And it's just unbelievable.
00:21:39.000 Davos, Switzerland, go read the Great Reset.
00:21:42.000 So your governor, I didn't even know that.
00:21:44.000 It's amazing.
00:21:45.000 Is rubbing elbows amongst people where their stated goals are saying you'll own nothing and you'll be happy.
00:21:49.000 America will no longer be the world's superpower and Western values will be to a breaking point.
00:21:53.000 Those are the goals of the World Economic Forum.
00:21:56.000 And so can't quite imagine what that would be all about.
00:21:59.000 But to the point is that I want to kind of go a level deeper, which is you want to protect liberty, you have to learn.
00:22:06.000 Okay, so about education, right?
00:22:08.000 So let's start with college.
00:22:10.000 College can be a great thing for some young people.
00:22:12.000 It could be a terrible thing for some young people.
00:22:15.000 This is the third rail of American life that everyone kind of gets really nervous about that no one wants to say out loud, but it just needs to be repeated.
00:22:23.000 College is a scam for most young people.
00:22:25.000 It is a scam.
00:22:27.000 And let me be very clear.
00:22:29.000 I prefaced it saying, I love learning.
00:22:32.000 That's one of the reasons why we need to be honest about college.
00:22:35.000 Let's start with one.
00:22:36.000 The national graduation rate is 59%.
00:22:38.000 41% of people that go to college do not graduate.
00:22:41.000 All of you know at least a couple people that went to college and dropped out.
00:22:44.000 They never should have gone to college in the first place.
00:22:46.000 Meanwhile, we have a record deficit of carpenters, electricians, plumbers, welders, entrepreneurs, police officers, firefighters.
00:22:54.000 Why?
00:22:55.000 Answer.
00:22:55.000 It's because most suburban moms don't want their kids to work with their hands.
00:23:00.000 It's true.
00:23:01.000 It's considered you failed as a parent in upper middle class society if your kid ends up working construction.
00:23:06.000 It's a stigma, and you know it's true.
00:23:08.000 We ask our high school seniors, hey, where are you going to college?
00:23:12.000 Not why are you going to college?
00:23:14.000 If most parents even understood an iota, a fraction of the kind of Russian roulette with the values that will happen when you send your kid to college, they would be flabbergasted.
00:23:23.000 The number one piece of reaction, I travel, as you mentioned, 330 days a year, I meet a lot of people.
00:23:27.000 They say, Charlie, I have four kids.
00:23:29.000 Half of them share my values.
00:23:30.000 I say, where did they go to college?
00:23:31.000 And they said, oh, I thought that Purdue is this great school.
00:23:34.000 I thought IU is this another thing against them, you know, as an institution, but they're indoctrination factories.
00:23:38.000 They are.
00:23:39.000 And you will play Russian roulette with these kids, these values, Notre Dame as well, Michigan, U of I, the University of Illinois.
00:23:46.000 And so the question is: what is the redeemable value of these colleges?
00:23:49.000 It's increasingly less.
00:23:51.000 People say, well, you need the piece of paper because it's, oh, so it's a credentialing exercise, which it is.
00:23:56.000 I mean, you want to know why colleges are so devoid of wisdom.
00:23:59.000 Well, because there's no God.
00:24:00.000 Without God, there is no wisdom.
00:24:02.000 The beginning of wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord.
00:24:06.000 And so let's just.
00:24:08.000 And by the way, this is the title of my upcoming book, which is very, you know, very vanilla title called The College Scam.
00:24:16.000 If I was a college professor, I would actually use that book in my classroom.
00:24:20.000 Yeah, that would be awesome.
00:24:22.000 Which they're happy to buy a bunch.
00:24:24.000 So all proceeds, by the way, the book, go to Turning Point USA, which is great.
00:24:29.000 That'll really bother them.
00:24:30.000 So it's a 10-count indictment.
00:24:33.000 But let's just start with one.
00:24:34.000 That's every bad idea that you find to be reprehensible started at a college campus.
00:24:38.000 Men can become pregnant, college campus.
00:24:40.000 No difference than men and women, college campus.
00:24:42.000 Steve on the police, college campus.
00:24:44.000 Open book, critical theory.
00:24:45.000 Critical race theory, critical theory, college campus.
00:24:47.000 These are the incubators and the validators of every single bad idea in society.
00:24:51.000 Why is this the least church generation in the history of America?
00:24:55.000 Because in college campuses, with evangelistic zeal, they tell your children and grandchildren not to believe in God, and pleasure is the ultimate pursuit.
00:25:02.000 Now, I didn't go to college.
00:25:04.000 So people say, how dare you talk about all this?
00:25:06.000 Well, look, I'm the best and worst person to be able to talk about college because I could talk about how you could actually do something in your life without having to go to college.
00:25:13.000 But also, I'm a little bit of a subject matter expert because I've spoken over 150 colleges in the last decade.
00:25:18.000 We have an organization on over 750 college campuses, and I've spoken from Berkeley to Boulder to Stanford to UCLA to Brown to Marquette and live to tell about it all across the country.
00:25:31.000 And so, but let me tell you this: college can be the right solution for some young people.
00:25:34.000 If you know why you're going for an affordable way and you really know what you believe in, you're not going to be susceptible to all their indoctrination.
00:25:41.000 But let me tell you bad reasons to go to college.
00:25:43.000 My parents are making you.
00:25:44.000 That's an awful reason.
00:25:45.000 Like, oh, I'm going to figure out it along the way.
00:25:48.000 Why?
00:25:48.000 What are you going to figure out exactly?
00:25:50.000 If you go to college and try to find what you're going to study, you're going to lose something along the way.
00:25:55.000 You're going to lose those kind of values you were raised with.
00:25:58.000 And so people say, well, Charlie, what would you do to replace it?
00:26:00.000 Well, I took a gap year.
00:26:01.000 It's been a gap decade now.
00:26:03.000 And started an organization.
00:26:05.000 God blessed it along the way.
00:26:06.000 It's been amazing.
00:26:07.000 But for parents out there, I just want to try to challenge you to try to not make your child going to college about you.
00:26:14.000 If you're afraid to turn to your neighbor and say that, hey, Johnny's not going to college, if you're afraid to say that because of the social stigma or the looks or the people like, huh, then it's more about you than it is about the child.
00:26:27.000 And I can tell you this: out of all of our, we have over 100,000 donors at Turning Point USA, most of which are over the age of 50.
00:26:34.000 And the letters I get daily from parents saying, I wish I would have never sent my kid to college.
00:26:40.000 They won't talk to me.
00:26:42.000 They don't share my values.
00:26:43.000 They don't believe in God.
00:26:44.000 They're unhappy.
00:26:45.000 It's happening every day, everybody.
00:26:47.000 So just be very careful.
00:26:49.000 And I'm afraid people aren't talking about this enough.
00:26:51.000 It's like this automatic, almost, we must send them no matter what.
00:26:55.000 And then, so we need more trades.
00:26:57.000 We need all these sorts of different things.
00:26:58.000 But there's also, there's also just kind of this idea.
00:27:02.000 I mean, there's like two good schools left in the country.
00:27:05.000 Hillsdale is one of them.
00:27:07.000 That's one, it's good.
00:27:09.000 I grew up in Hillsdale, by the way.
00:27:10.000 Did you really?
00:27:10.000 Yeah, yeah.
00:27:11.000 The Great Hillsdale College.
00:27:12.000 They did an amazing job.
00:27:13.000 They do.
00:27:14.000 Even those schools that used to be good, like Grove City is no good anymore.
00:27:17.000 They've gone totally woke.
00:27:18.000 What was the second college?
00:27:19.000 It depends.
00:27:20.000 Liberty's pretty good.
00:27:21.000 Liberty University is pretty good.
00:27:22.000 We got some schools.
00:27:23.000 I'm sure I'm forgetting one.
00:27:24.000 Someone's upset.
00:27:25.000 But I mean, there's a couple ones peppered across.
00:27:27.000 Regent, you're right.
00:27:29.000 Your region's good.
00:27:30.000 That's right.
00:27:30.000 Michelle Bachman's there now.
00:27:32.000 She does a good job.
00:27:33.000 And so besides that, though, it's a vast minority of schools.
00:27:37.000 Let me just kind of close with this, which is you must know why you're sending your kid to college, how you're educating them, but understand it starts even younger.
00:27:43.000 The indoctrination starts in high school, it starts in middle school, it starts in the fundamental value shaping of social media and all that.
00:27:49.000 And so, look, my first immediate goal, if we had 20 to 30% less kids going to college, America would be a much freer and better place to live.
00:27:59.000 And so the goal that I would have is having a lot of people not go to college and to learn to actually do something useful because we have a whole generation of young people that borrowed money they don't have to study things that don't matter, to find jobs that don't exist.
00:28:14.000 And they say, hey, Charlie, you know, I got this degree in lesbian archery, and I don't know why I can't find a job.
00:28:25.000 Okay.
00:28:25.000 Okay, hold on a second.
00:28:28.000 I have to ask, is that, does that, come on, is that really a thing?
00:28:32.000 Come on.
00:28:32.000 Is that like underwater basketball?
00:28:34.000 That you can't immediately dismiss it.
00:28:38.000 Oh, this is why China's winning.
00:28:40.000 So, yeah, okay.
00:28:43.000 Well, okay, what we're going to do now, though, on that note, that is amazing.
00:28:47.000 I love that.
00:28:48.000 I'm going to use that one.
00:28:49.000 Okay, we are going to, we're going to open it up for some questions for Charlie because Charlie, I mean, one of the best on his feet kind of thinkers and speakers in this nation.
00:29:00.000 So we want to kind of just give you a chance to come down and share, ask a question, let Charlie share his heart on that issue.
00:29:07.000 So, not all at once, but if you would like to do that, we got Connor down here.
00:29:11.000 We got Jared right there.
00:29:12.000 And they're just at some point, just come on down and we'll get to questions here so you can start doing that.
00:29:17.000 Now, while they're doing that, hit on this point real quick for me.
00:29:21.000 We hear all the time in the media, Charlie, that America is a fundamentally racist nation.
00:29:28.000 I love how you defend America and her history, and you make a great argument for what has happened to racism since America was founded.
00:29:37.000 Yeah, I mean, thank you for saying that.
00:29:40.000 I spend a lot of time reading history of our founding fathers, and I get really defensive of them, actually.
00:29:45.000 They were unbelievable people.
00:29:46.000 We're the least racist country ever to exist in the history of the world.
00:29:49.000 That's right.
00:29:50.000 We have a supply and demand problem with racism in America.
00:29:53.000 We have an incredible demand to try to find the race crimes, hoaxes, which they are hoaxes.
00:29:58.000 But yet there's such an unbelievable low supply that there's kind of a cottage industry of creating your own race hate crimes and try to make them popular.
00:30:08.000 In what world do you have a problem with racism where someone like Jussie Smollett tries to come up with their own race crime?
00:30:15.000 Do you think they were doing that with the KKK in the antebellum South where they were coming?
00:30:19.000 No, like there was plenty of actual legitimate racism at the time.
00:30:23.000 So let's kind of go through all of their kind of accusations.
00:30:26.000 First of all, let's realize and recognize what we have.
00:30:28.000 The fact that we're a multiracial, multi-ethnic, ethnic, multicultural society, and we get along as well as we do in our country is unbelievable.
00:30:37.000 The fact that we've been able to bring people from every corner of the world and we get along really, really well, despite what you kind of see on CNN and on television, is a remarkable accomplishment.
00:30:47.000 And so let's go kind of back to the Founding Fathers.
00:30:49.000 A common kind of incantation that they'll say is that the Founding Fathers were super racist.
00:30:54.000 They own slaves.
00:30:55.000 Therefore, they're not worthy of study or appreciation.
00:30:57.000 Well, something we all have in common as human beings is you're all born into a world you did not create.
00:31:02.000 And every single one of the founding fathers was born into a world where slavery was everywhere.
00:31:06.000 And then they had a couple choices to make.
00:31:08.000 And they started to think very deeply about this.
00:31:10.000 And thanks to the writings of the Declaration of Independence, the movement of the abolition of slavery began.
00:31:15.000 Vermont abolished slavery in 1777, the first state to do so.
00:31:18.000 In 1775, it was the first anti-slavery convention ever held in the history of the world, chaired by Benjamin Franklin.
00:31:24.000 By the time the Constitution was ratified in 1787, nine out of 13 of the original states or colonies had already independently abolished slavery.
00:31:33.000 We right here, believe it or not, where we're sitting, is in the Northwest Territories.
00:31:36.000 Well, you used to be called the Northwest Territories.
00:31:38.000 What I mean by that is there was an act of Congress in 1787 called the Northwest Ordinance.
00:31:44.000 It had several articles.
00:31:45.000 Now, Article 6 of the Northwest Ordinance said the following, that every single square mile or acre of the Northwest Ordinance would be free of slavery.
00:31:55.000 And it was passed by every single state, 13 to nothing unanimously.
00:31:59.000 When they were thinking about expansion of new lands, they knew new lands must be free and not slave.
00:32:05.000 Now, think about this.
00:32:06.000 If you're expanding new lands, isn't that a projection of your values?
00:32:09.000 A projection is what you believe.
00:32:11.000 Yet 13 colonies agreed that the Northwest Territories of now, what is Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Minnesota would be slave-free.
00:32:20.000 Not to mention, Thomas Jefferson signed a moratorium of the importation of new slaves in March of 1807.
00:32:26.000 The practice of slavery was starting to be decoupled to such a great extent thanks to the abolition movements of William Wilberforce in Britain that the British Empire actually used their own troops to enforce the abolition of the slave trade by going and arresting slave traders all throughout the 18 teens and 1820s.
00:32:44.000 John Quincy Adams, America's sixth president, only served one term.
00:32:47.000 He was such a focused abolitionist that after he lost the presidential election to Andrew Jackson, that he went to go run for Congress so they had to come up with a new rule in Congress that you could not introduce the same bill every single day, which was a bill to abolish slavery.
00:33:01.000 He was so focused on it.
00:33:03.000 Now, of course, we had a Civil War.
00:33:05.000 We fought a war to end slavery.
00:33:06.000 Hundreds of thousands, 600,000 Americans died to be able to abolish slavery.
00:33:10.000 But let's just kind of take a step backwards and understand where we're living today.
00:33:14.000 There are more slaves right now on the planet than any other time in human history.
00:33:19.000 The fact you end slavery is a big deal.
00:33:21.000 Why did we end slavery?
00:33:22.000 We ended slavery because of the courage and the heroism, the bravery, and the moral clarity of the founding fathers.
00:33:28.000 When they were born, slavery was everywhere.
00:33:30.000 When they died in the 1820s, slavery was largely on the way out and was abolished in the vast majority of the population in North America.
00:33:38.000 That's something that's worthy of study, appreciation, and gratitude.
00:33:42.000 I love it.
00:33:42.000 Amen.
00:33:46.000 I have a feeling you're going to be a professor at Hills Hill College here pretty soon.
00:33:51.000 So that's...
00:33:52.000 You'll have a professor that didn't go to college.
00:33:54.000 I think it's amazing.
00:33:55.000 It'd be wonderful.
00:33:56.000 All right, hey, let's start here, Connor.
00:33:56.000 It's amazing.
00:33:58.000 Who do you got?
00:33:59.000 Adam?
00:34:00.000 Hey, Adam, what's up, buddy?
00:34:03.000 All right, this is what mic color do you have?
00:34:03.000 Good, good.
00:34:05.000 The yellow one?
00:34:07.000 Okay.
00:34:07.000 Is that yellow mic on there, Carl?
00:34:09.000 Can you hear me now?
00:34:09.000 Yep.
00:34:10.000 Yep.
00:34:12.000 My question is, in a state like the one you grew up, like Illinois, it's very, very clear who the people who are fighting our values are.
00:34:22.000 They typically have a D next to their name.
00:34:24.000 But in states like ours, everybody likes to call themselves a Republican.
00:34:30.000 So my question for you is, how do you tell the difference between a rhino and a patriot?
00:34:36.000 I feel like that's a joke coming.
00:34:37.000 I don't know.
00:34:37.000 How do you tell a difference between the rhinos?
00:34:41.000 A patriot doesn't go to Davos.
00:34:43.000 How about that?
00:34:44.000 Yeah.
00:34:54.000 Yeah.
00:34:55.000 So look, there's a checklist, right?
00:34:57.000 So they'll talk a good game on guns, which, by the way, I just want to say, what an unbelievable, horrific tragedy in Texas.
00:35:03.000 It ruined my day, honestly, the last 24 hours.
00:35:06.000 Just such unspeakable evil.
00:35:07.000 And just the immediate political...
00:35:10.000 Robert Francis O'Rourke starts interrupting the press.
00:35:12.000 I mean, these people are so despicable, honestly.
00:35:14.000 Like, it's basically they're giving a eulogy in a funeral and they interrupt it for political purposes.
00:35:19.000 And so just, it should be a time of national mourning, and they immediately go into a political posture.
00:35:23.000 It's so disgusting and so gross.
00:35:25.000 But yes, I mean, Republicans will talk a good game on guns.
00:35:28.000 They'll talk a good game on these things, but there are certain issues where they'll really kind of go back.
00:35:33.000 And a couple of them that you kind of spot check on is, you know, how do they feel on mandatory vaccines?
00:35:40.000 How do they feel on lockdowns?
00:35:41.000 These are ways to flush out the rhino, right?
00:35:44.000 To get them from behind the brush.
00:35:45.000 Like, ooh, now I see you.
00:35:47.000 Right?
00:35:47.000 Will they admit that there is a globalist force trying to squeeze the American way of life?
00:35:53.000 Do they pander to every need, want, and concern of corporations?
00:35:57.000 Or do they just kind of give you open-ended platitudes and one-liners that always kind of sound good?
00:36:02.000 Are they willing to say that when it comes down to it, they will defy the federal government and Joe Biden to protect their voters?
00:36:08.000 Or are they just going to kind of go back to cushy type of sound bites?
00:36:12.000 So, this is something that our political vehicle, again, we have TPUSA Faith here, which is a 501c3, but we have a political vehicle, Turning Point Action and Turning Point PAC, where we're going to be heavily involved now in the vetting of candidates.
00:36:23.000 And I think this is very necessary.
00:36:26.000 Where I was on, there's some great, there's, and this is not a slide against any organization.
00:36:32.000 They do wonderful work, but I think better work can be done of giving you the information of the good candidates.
00:36:38.000 And because I have no vested interest.
00:36:42.000 I don't go to DC.
00:36:43.000 I don't lobby for stuff because a lot of these organizations are always lobbying.
00:36:46.000 It's weird, right?
00:36:47.000 They rate the candidates and they lie.
00:36:49.000 I don't do that.
00:36:49.000 I don't care.
00:36:50.000 I just want to make sure you guys can make good decisions and give you the honest truth.
00:36:54.000 And I could tell you that your question is so good because Republican politicians take you for granted.
00:37:01.000 They think they can kind of raise a bunch of money and wink and nod and be like, yeah, I'm going to say the right things to the grassroots, when in reality, they're so distant from your actual values, right?
00:37:11.000 And so I think that it's beyond necessary and it's time that the grassroots gets the information so you guys can make the best decisions.
00:37:18.000 And the final thing I'll say is get involved in your primaries, everybody.
00:37:22.000 Your primaries are so unbelievable.
00:37:24.000 You guys just had primaries.
00:37:26.000 I don't know how they worked out.
00:37:27.000 I hope they worked out favorably, but okay.
00:37:29.000 Cool.
00:37:30.000 Jared.
00:37:31.000 Hi.
00:37:32.000 My name's Lori, and I am a Hoosier who moved to North Carolina.
00:37:36.000 So how do I find my courageous church?
00:37:38.000 Because I can't find one.
00:37:40.000 So I'm sorry.
00:37:41.000 I need that courageous church.
00:37:42.000 How can I find it?
00:37:43.000 Do you live here in Indiana?
00:37:44.000 No, now I live in North Carolina.
00:37:45.000 If I was here, I know where to go.
00:37:48.000 I was going to say, like, hello.
00:37:51.000 I'm sorry.
00:37:53.000 North of Wilmington, Topsal Island, by Camp Lejeune.
00:37:57.000 Okay, I don't know any in that specific area.
00:38:00.000 I have some great ones in Charlotte, some great ones in Boone.
00:38:02.000 We'll connect you, though.
00:38:03.000 So this is part of.
00:38:04.000 That's what I want.
00:38:04.000 So we're developing.
00:38:05.000 We haven't even been doing a year.
00:38:06.000 Jared is doing a great job with us.
00:38:08.000 And so at TPU SA Faith is, we want to have just a directory of vetted churches that you could find.
00:38:13.000 And people are messaging me, and I respond really quickly on my podcast where they say, What's the great church in Albuquerque?
00:38:19.000 Steve Smotherman's church.
00:38:20.000 How about Phoenix, Arizona?
00:38:21.000 I got a long list.
00:38:22.000 And it's amazing that sometimes they live five minutes away and they had no idea.
00:38:26.000 And so we'll definitely get you connected with one.
00:38:28.000 I don't know one off the top of my head in that particular area, but we have at least 10 good churches in other parts of North Carolina that I know.
00:38:33.000 Dream City has one in Asheville.
00:38:34.000 I know that's quite a ways.
00:38:36.000 That's the other side, right?
00:38:38.000 Charlotte, we have a couple in Raleigh.
00:38:40.000 But I know, I'm just saying that we're building that work and we're strengthening it.
00:38:44.000 But we want to be able to make sure you know the good churches so you could support them with your tithes, your time, and your offering.
00:38:51.000 So God bless you.
00:38:52.000 That'd be a good app.
00:38:53.000 Like if you had an app on your phone, like a turning point app, like a church app, like right in your church.
00:38:58.000 Yes.
00:38:59.000 Yeah, I know, right?
00:39:01.000 Love it.
00:39:02.000 I'm going to make you.
00:39:02.000 Okay, you're hired.
00:39:07.000 Connor, yeah.
00:39:08.000 Okay, because of my understanding of the history and how this country was founded and the sacrifices and the blood that it took to get liberty and justice for all.
00:39:25.000 Do you believe or think that it's going to be able to be kept or brought back to us peacefully?
00:39:38.000 That's my prayer, and that should be your prayer too.
00:39:40.000 The other side doesn't want that.
00:39:41.000 And so I denounce violence in every form whatsoever because the other side continually tries to provoke us towards it.
00:39:47.000 And I want you to think about it.
00:39:48.000 It's almost as if they're trying to trigger a reaction that then can trigger a counterreaction to really take our freedoms and liberties away.
00:39:56.000 You could see that with how they reacted to the January 6th stuff, which they want to create like a whole new kind of superstate.
00:40:01.000 I'm going to kind of connect it to the Moms for Liberty, Moms for Liberty, wonderful organization, where they literally go and show up at school board meetings to complain about curriculum.
00:40:10.000 And they said in the memo, the National School Board Association of America memo, they wanted Joe Biden to use the military police and to go send in the National Guard to school board meetings because they were so worried that parents were complaining about curriculum.
00:40:28.000 Now, if they want to keep things peaceful, why would you want to bring the military police to school board meetings?
00:40:35.000 Go a step further.
00:40:36.000 One of the leaders from Moms for Liberty, was it you or it wasn't you?
00:40:40.000 Okay, no.
00:40:40.000 Okay, I want to make sure I get okay.
00:40:44.000 That was literally spied on by the Department of Justice using threat assessment tags because they showed up at a school board meeting.
00:40:51.000 So there's very, very malevolent and pernicious and dark activity happening at the top levels of our government.
00:40:58.000 Let me tell you what.
00:40:59.000 The other side, I think, wants to try to provoke us so that they can use force against us.
00:41:04.000 I believe, though, that our greatest asset is what God gave us, which is our ability to speak, to have dialogue.
00:41:11.000 In the beginning, there was the word.
00:41:12.000 The word is actually rational speech.
00:41:14.000 And the word was God.
00:41:15.000 The word was with God.
00:41:16.000 And the word became God.
00:41:17.000 I believe that our greatest hope is to win people over using our capacity to persuade and to convince and have better arguments.
00:41:27.000 They're the ones that continuously have to use force against us.
00:41:31.000 We're the ones that can win people over when they hear our arguments and our ideas.
00:41:35.000 So you ask me, do I think it can happen peacefully?
00:41:38.000 Yes, I do.
00:41:40.000 In fact, I believe that I don't want it to happen.
00:41:44.000 No one wants that, okay?
00:41:46.000 In any way, shape, or form to happen any other way besides that.
00:41:49.000 Let me say one final point on this, though, which people ask me all the time, Charlie, are you pessimistic?
00:41:53.000 Are you optimistic?
00:41:54.000 And I refuse to answer the question because if I tell you I'm optimistic, then you're going to go home and do nothing because you say, oh, we're going to win because Charlie said we're going to win.
00:42:02.000 If I say I'm pessimistic, you're going to go home and say, I'm going to do nothing because Charlie said we're going to lose.
00:42:08.000 So the way I'm going to answer the question is, what are you doing about it to make sure we win?
00:42:14.000 That's the answer, which is it takes all of us in how we purchase goods, in where you send your kids to school, in what you buy, in where you travel, in all these things that matters.
00:42:24.000 Reviving citizen government.
00:42:26.000 And I could tell you right now, from the World Economic Forum to the people of the World Health Assembly, to the people in our government, they're super paranoid and nervous that the everyday citizen is rising against their regime.
00:42:39.000 They don't understand why we have not given up yet.
00:42:43.000 They don't understand why everyday Americans are more hopeful.
00:42:47.000 They thought that we were going to give up and raise the white flag.
00:42:50.000 But guess what?
00:42:51.000 We as Americans are tougher than that.
00:42:53.000 We're not the French that run away when things get bad.
00:42:57.000 We're not the British that complain about everything all the time.
00:42:59.000 No, we're Americans.
00:43:00.000 And it's going to take a lot more than an interfered with election and this joke of a president and all this nonsense to have us give up.
00:43:09.000 Not after the history we have, not after the greatest generation, not after the founding fathers.
00:43:14.000 We got a lot of fight left in us as Americans, and they don't get it.
00:43:18.000 And that's why we're going to win.
00:43:19.000 Thank you.
00:43:20.000 I appreciate it.
00:43:20.000 Amen.
00:43:21.000 It's awesome.
00:43:23.000 All right, Jared.
00:43:26.000 Hi, my name is Malachi, and I was wondering if you were going to add any middle school content soon.
00:43:34.000 If you want to start a middle school Turning Point USA chapter, that's right.
00:43:38.000 I love it.
00:43:39.000 You want to do that?
00:43:43.000 Yes, so we have a great question.
00:43:44.000 We're working on curriculum.
00:43:46.000 We're working on some things through Turning Point Academy.
00:43:48.000 We're going to have some big announcements soon, actually, with a church in Phoenix, Arizona.
00:43:52.000 That's going to be really exciting.
00:43:54.000 We're going to have Christian biblical curriculum, Christian biblical economic teaching that, if the Lord decides to bless it, can maybe be outsourced to schools across the country.
00:44:02.000 There's a lot of people doing curriculum.
00:44:03.000 We're not going to try to duplicate anything, but I think that there is a unique need for Christian-based civic education right now that really makes a good defense of America and from a Christian and biblical worldview.
00:44:15.000 And that includes sixth, seventh, and eighth grade as well.
00:44:18.000 And I tell parents this: look, our podcast, and we'll talk about our podcast at the end of this conversation.
00:44:24.000 Never a swear word, never any.
00:44:25.000 I always kind of warn parents ahead of time if there's sensitive topics.
00:44:29.000 Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders, I think, should be listening to our podcast.
00:44:32.000 You could learn a lot, news of the day, and I think it would actually make you more informed and better understanding kind of what's happening in the world around you.
00:44:38.000 So God bless you, Malachi.
00:44:39.000 Yeah, it's awesome.
00:44:40.000 Thanks for being there.
00:44:41.000 Here's a follow-up.
00:44:44.000 And I just turned 11 today, and I'm wondering if you have any books besides your Bible that are good for me to read.
00:44:54.000 That's a great question.
00:44:56.000 So 11 years old.
00:44:57.000 I'll give you a couple good books.
00:44:59.000 So when you're 11 to 15, parents should be getting their kids to read a lot of biographies because kids need heroes, okay?
00:45:05.000 Biographies are great ways to be able to get kids to believe that their life can have meaning and to rep because at that age of life, they really need someone to kind of look up to.
00:45:14.000 Find a good biography on Winston Churchill, he's the greatest man to live in the 20th century.
00:45:18.000 A story of pure will, and we all live freer today, thanks to Winston Churchill.
00:45:23.000 For 11 years old, if you can get through it, Mere Christianity is a great book.
00:45:28.000 If you can get through it, I think you're smart, so you could do that.
00:45:32.000 And then I would also recommend the Founder's Bible, which is a phenomenal Bible that my great friends gave me, which is a way to read the Bible and also have some historical knowledge throughout.
00:45:44.000 If you're willing and able for it and your parents are okay with it, because there are some sensitive and suggestive scenes, 1984 and Brave New World, but those are a little bit more adult books at times.
00:45:54.000 But they'll teach you a lot about tyranny and they'll turn you into an ultra-patriot very, very quick.
00:45:58.000 An ultra-mega patriot.
00:46:00.000 Oh, ultra-mega.
00:46:01.000 That's right.
00:46:02.000 Isn't that the craziest thing?
00:46:03.000 Oh, my goodness.
00:46:03.000 That was so funny.
00:46:04.000 I was like, yeah, that's what I am.
00:46:05.000 That's what I love.
00:46:07.000 Put that on a shirt.
00:46:08.000 Love that.
00:46:10.000 The final thing that I would say, boy, at age 11, kind of just a really good kind of go-to reference and go-to book for anybody of any age is kind of the timeless work of our founding fathers.
00:46:26.000 Anything that they wrote from the Federalist Papers or their private journals are just great to go to.
00:46:30.000 But I gave you enough references, so dive into those.
00:46:34.000 Be a lifelong learner and find out.
00:46:36.000 Here's something I wish someone would have told me at 11.
00:46:38.000 Find out the best way you learn.
00:46:39.000 If you read books best, do that.
00:46:41.000 If you listen to audio books, do that.
00:46:42.000 If you're a visual person, do that.
00:46:45.000 And I wish someone would have told me that earlier because I'm the best at listening.
00:46:49.000 I listen to books all the time.
00:46:50.000 Some people aren't that way.
00:46:51.000 I'm an okay reader.
00:46:52.000 I just love consuming information audibly.
00:46:54.000 I just remember it better.
00:46:55.000 So God bless you, Malachi.
00:46:57.000 Thanks for being here.
00:46:57.000 Appreciate it.
00:47:00.000 And I think we'll do.
00:47:02.000 I hate to cut it short, but I just want to be respectful of everyone's time here.
00:47:05.000 But I think we'll maybe do two more questions, if that's okay.
00:47:09.000 Does that sound like I know?
00:47:10.000 I'm sorry.
00:47:12.000 I could stay later.
00:47:12.000 I just, I mean, whatever you guys want.
00:47:14.000 Your team is going to kill me.
00:47:15.000 They were like, okay, hey, he said, he said it's not.
00:47:19.000 It's still light outside.
00:47:20.000 That's true, it is.
00:47:20.000 And I want to be respectful of your time, but look, I also want to bless you guys in any way I can, so I'm here to stick to this.
00:47:27.000 We'll do maybe a couple more.
00:47:29.000 So we'll see what that is.
00:47:30.000 All right, Connor, what do you got?
00:47:32.000 Hi, my name's Mackenzie, and I was thinking about your topic of the three churches in the three C's.
00:47:38.000 And I was speaking to actually a few of my Christians in my fellow circles, ones, especially my age.
00:47:43.000 And I was trying to ask them, like, why don't you stand up?
00:47:45.000 Why don't you fight for things?
00:47:47.000 Why do you see this as an issue?
00:47:48.000 And two of the reasons they give me is they like to quote Romans 13, 1 to me.
00:47:52.000 Let every soul be subject into the higher powers.
00:47:54.000 There is no power but of God.
00:47:56.000 The powers that be are ordained of God.
00:47:57.000 And so they like to say, well, we're supposed to be subject to them.
00:48:00.000 God obviously put them in place there, so we need to respect their leadership.
00:48:04.000 And then they also like to throw the argument out there, well, we know what's going to happen in the end.
00:48:08.000 We're told how the end is supposed to look.
00:48:10.000 So anything we do is not going to stop it.
00:48:12.000 So why fight now?
00:48:13.000 Because we ultimately know how it's going to end.
00:48:16.000 How should I respond to that?
00:48:17.000 Because I know that's not right, because I know we're still called to fight.
00:48:20.000 How should I respond to them saying, well, we need to be subject, and we also just need to, I guess, be okay with it because it's not going to matter in the end.
00:48:26.000 You just asked a great question, but I'm going to involve you in the answer, okay?
00:48:29.000 All right.
00:48:30.000 So in Romans 13, it says we must submit to all rulers and those in authority, right?
00:48:34.000 So I'm going to ask you, and there's no wrong answer, but let's kind of learn together.
00:48:38.000 According to the U.S. Constitution, who are the rulers?
00:48:41.000 We the people.
00:48:42.000 Right.
00:48:43.000 So the politicians have to submit to us.
00:48:46.000 Yes.
00:48:50.000 Do you know how many pastors?
00:48:53.000 It is amazing how many pastors in this last two years have said to me, Micah, you're not submitting to the authority God raised up.
00:49:02.000 I'm like, who is that?
00:49:03.000 It's us.
00:49:04.000 What are you talking about?
00:49:05.000 And that's the amazing break that the founders are able to accomplish.
00:49:09.000 The sovereign is with the people, not the king, not the bloodline, not the pullet bureau, not the bureaucracy.
00:49:15.000 So the rulers actually, if they read Romans 13 and they're elected, they must submit to our will, which is the people.
00:49:23.000 And we submit to God's will, hopefully.
00:49:25.000 Okay?
00:49:25.000 Number one.
00:49:25.000 Number two, you asked about eschatology, okay?
00:49:28.000 The study of the end times.
00:49:29.000 So people ask me all the time, Charlie, are you pre-trib?
00:49:32.000 Are you post-trib?
00:49:34.000 Look, I'm pan-trib.
00:49:35.000 It's all going to pan out in the end, okay?
00:49:40.000 Never in the gospels does Jesus say to stop fighting evil or proclaiming truth if you think things are all of a sudden going to be going towards.
00:49:50.000 Never does it.
00:49:51.000 It says, occupy till I come.
00:49:53.000 Be salt and light.
00:49:55.000 So look, people say all the time, Charlie, the house is on fire.
00:49:58.000 I just want to get the kids out.
00:50:00.000 Jesus is coming next Thursday.
00:50:01.000 We're all getting zapped up.
00:50:03.000 I say, you're using your eschatology as an excuse.
00:50:05.000 Jesus says the time of the hour is unknown.
00:50:07.000 You look at the signs of the times, but if your inaction is correlated to an apathy, then I'm going to say something provocative.
00:50:13.000 You're no different than Bretta Thunberg.
00:50:18.000 How dare you?
00:50:19.000 Seriously.
00:50:20.000 How dare you?
00:50:21.000 Let's think about it.
00:50:22.000 Greta Thunberg and people that don't act because they're eschatology are doing the same thing for the same reason.
00:50:27.000 The world is going to end, so why does it matter?
00:50:31.000 And that's nihilism.
00:50:32.000 That is not Christianity.
00:50:34.000 Christianity, we should be trying to proclaim the truth.
00:50:36.000 If you think things are falling apart, you should be accelerating your attempt to try to spread God's goodness, not the opposite.
00:50:43.000 So the answer I would say is reject your friend's cynicism and excuse and nihilism.
00:50:47.000 Try to say, well, we know how the book ends, and we also know what we're supposed to do.
00:50:50.000 We know that the persecution is supposed to intensify, but we lean in.
00:50:54.000 We know that the lies and the slander are going to increase, but we lean in.
00:50:57.000 And we know that God will bless us or judge us based on how we do that at that period of time.
00:51:02.000 So challenge your friends, but not allow their eschatology to be an excuse for their inaction.
00:51:07.000 Wonderful question.
00:51:08.000 Thanks for being here today.
00:51:12.000 We'll do two more.
00:51:13.000 Okay, we'll do two more.
00:51:14.000 We'll do two more.
00:51:15.000 Here and there.
00:51:16.000 Okay.
00:51:16.000 Hi, Charlie.
00:51:17.000 My name's Amanda Tokas.
00:51:19.000 And about a year ago, I started kind of a grassroots effort in my school district getting involved and recently decided to go ahead and run for school board.
00:51:28.000 Thank you.
00:51:30.000 One of the things that I'm already tackling is trying to identify sexually explicit books within our schools.
00:51:37.000 And I tapped into that and the media and a lot of people, of course, have gotten the National Library Association involved.
00:51:44.000 And of course, they're attacking me.
00:51:46.000 My question to you then is: do I engage or do I disengage?
00:51:50.000 So are they attacking you for trying to label me as a book banner and racist and homophobe?
00:52:00.000 Okay.
00:52:01.000 Well, if it's making, if it's harder for you to do your job, then I'm always okay with responding and all that.
00:52:07.000 I think you should fight lies wherever they come across your life.
00:52:11.000 That's my own personal opinion.
00:52:13.000 And so, kind of, let's talk about this kind of idea of book banning.
00:52:16.000 This is such insane.
00:52:17.000 So, the protection of the innocence of children, by definition, requires standards and restriction.
00:52:23.000 By definition, I mean, the innocence of children is something that Jesus Himself went out of his way to say that we have a moral obligation to try to protect.
00:52:31.000 And so, this is where liberty goes wrong if you don't understand what liberty is.
00:52:35.000 Liberty is the pursuit of virtue.
00:52:37.000 Liberty is not doing what you want to do whenever you want to do it.
00:52:40.000 I'll prove it to you.
00:52:40.000 The least free person that all of you know is an alcoholic.
00:52:44.000 They are the least free people in the world.
00:52:46.000 They are a slave to their flesh.
00:52:48.000 The flesh is always telling you to do what you want to do, when you want to do it, how you want to do it.
00:52:52.000 Liberty is restraining yourself towards virtue because that's actually keeping you free.
00:52:56.000 And you, as a parent or guardian, have to do the restraining.
00:53:00.000 So, you're not a book banner.
00:53:02.000 No, no, no, you're implementing virtuous books and good things, but you will prevent nonsensical garbage and yes, satanic garbage from being put towards 10 and 11, 12-year-olds, stuff that is pornographic by any other objective measure.
00:53:15.000 So, I just want to encourage you, first and foremost, you're doing the right thing.
00:53:18.000 National Library Association, all these maniacs, whatever they're doing, whatever.
00:53:22.000 So, I think there's something really sick and twisted about this growing pervert movement in America that wants to keep on trying to go after people's children.
00:53:29.000 We're on the side of parents, they're on the side of perverts, and the innocence of children is something we must defend unquestionably no matter what.
00:53:38.000 Thank you.
00:53:39.000 Awesome.
00:53:42.000 Yeah, yeah, yep, yep.
00:53:43.000 All right, so we'll do one more question, but first, just first, I want to do a selfish plug really quick, everybody, if you'll go with me.
00:53:50.000 So, as I mentioned, we do three podcasts a day, three hours of radio day.
00:53:54.000 We are under constant threat by Google and Facebook to kind of kick us off these platforms.
00:54:00.000 So, one way you guys could bless us, it's totally free of charge, is you guys could subscribe to our podcast and become and just you can take out your phone, it's free of charge, really easy.
00:54:09.000 I think there's QRQ.
00:54:11.000 Now, if you did it at the other church, that's great at the other location.
00:54:14.000 Which is, if you don't know what a QR code is, where's Malachi?
00:54:19.000 Malachi could walk you through that.
00:54:21.000 Let me tell you why this blesses us really quick.
00:54:25.000 This is a free of charge way we could stay in touch.
00:54:28.000 If we could be maybe become your daily news source, maybe once a week, we do pod.
00:54:32.000 I mean, you'd agree, Micah, we spend a lot of time on it, a lot of research.
00:54:34.000 So, thank you guys for considering it.
00:54:36.000 Once you go to that page, you hit the subscribe button, which is the upper right-hand corner, or you can just take out your podcast app, type in Charlie Kirk Show.
00:54:43.000 It blesses us.
00:54:44.000 We had over 127 million listeners last year, and we are the number one podcast out there that regularly talks about the gospel and brings people closer to the Lord.
00:54:54.000 So, please consider doing that.
00:54:56.000 Thank you, and we'll go to the last question.
00:54:59.000 Hey, wait, I think we got Amelia there.
00:55:02.000 Yeah, okay.
00:55:03.000 Awesome.
00:55:04.000 Yep, one last question.
00:55:06.000 Well, my name's Amelia, and mine's kind of a two-part question.
00:55:10.000 So I've been interested and had a passion for freedom pretty much my whole life since I was a little girl.
00:55:18.000 And I've had other Christians actually tell me that Christians shouldn't be involved.
00:55:24.000 And I watched a Ronald Reagan speech a few weeks ago, The Evil Empire.
00:55:29.000 That's what it's called.
00:55:30.000 And he was talking about how Christians that think that, it's actually a pride issue because they think they're above it.
00:55:39.000 They're above politics and things.
00:55:40.000 And I just wondered what you thought of that.
00:55:42.000 And also what a young conservative like me can do to get involved.
00:55:46.000 Because, you know, I post on social media and all those things, but you only can reach so many people like that.
00:55:53.000 Well, first of all, I totally agree.
00:55:54.000 It's a pride thing.
00:55:55.000 I also think that it's twofold.
00:55:57.000 I think some people don't want to get involved because they don't want the annoyance of it.
00:56:01.000 They wish it didn't exist.
00:56:03.000 You know, people say all the time, oh, politics is messy.
00:56:05.000 Like, so is the church.
00:56:06.000 What's your point, right?
00:56:07.000 Anything that involves human beings is going to be messy.
00:56:09.000 But politics is important.
00:56:10.000 It's very important.
00:56:11.000 The type of government we have matters a lot.
00:56:13.000 I'm not saying it's more important.
00:56:14.000 Remember, first thing, second thing.
00:56:16.000 But we have to push back against that nonsense in every single possible way.
00:56:21.000 Your second point, what can a young conservative do?
00:56:23.000 What can conservatives do?
00:56:24.000 This is a great final question, by the way, because I was going to get here.
00:56:27.000 So many of you came here tonight and you laughed, you got excited, and you're wondering, all right, Charlie, well, what do I do?
00:56:33.000 The odds seem overwhelming.
00:56:34.000 Like, I've done everything that's been asked of me.
00:56:37.000 I watched Tucker Carlson.
00:56:41.000 I bought the pillow.
00:56:46.000 I have piles of relief.
00:56:48.000 Which is funny.
00:56:49.000 I actually do both of those things.
00:56:51.000 I did actually buy a pillow.
00:56:52.000 I was like, I got to support that guy.
00:56:53.000 He's amazing.
00:56:54.000 I got piles of relief factor.
00:56:58.000 I reverse mortgaged my home.
00:57:01.000 I have this weird chair that goes up the stairs.
00:57:03.000 I don't even know what it does.
00:57:05.000 Like, what else can I do?
00:57:08.000 I'm going to give you some marching orders, everybody, which is we have to change our attitude to an attitude of courage.
00:57:14.000 And that is from the Lord in all that we do.
00:57:16.000 What is courage?
00:57:17.000 Courage is doing the right thing when you do not know how it's going to work out.
00:57:22.000 Courage is committing yourself to the good above the expedient.
00:57:27.000 Moral courage is the most necessary yet absent characteristic in men.
00:57:31.000 And the cool thing about courage is anyone can be courageous.
00:57:34.000 You don't have to be smart.
00:57:35.000 You don't have to be rich.
00:57:36.000 You don't have to be well-connected.
00:57:37.000 Anybody can make a choice to be courageous.
00:57:40.000 You just have to make that choice.
00:57:42.000 The courage, the courageous person says, I don't care what will be done to me.
00:57:48.000 I care what is good and what is true.
00:57:50.000 So we as Christians are called to do more courageous actions.
00:57:52.000 That's number one.
00:57:53.000 Number two, we got to build more stuff.
00:57:55.000 We got to build bigger families.
00:57:56.000 We got to build bigger churches.
00:57:58.000 We have to build bigger businesses.
00:58:00.000 We are made in the image of God as creators.
00:58:02.000 We got to create more stuff and build more stuff.
00:58:04.000 And we have to take more risks, in my personal opinion, in the marketplace and building bigger churches and bigger communities and doing all that.
00:58:10.000 We have to stop this cynical nonsense, which was alluded to earlier.
00:58:13.000 Charlie, everything's falling apart or it's falling into place or whatever.
00:58:16.000 I'm not going to do anything.
00:58:18.000 Reject that.
00:58:19.000 Time and the hour is unknown.
00:58:20.000 We have to think bigger, more ambitiously.
00:58:22.000 We're up against the most unhappy, the most kind of foolish and quite honestly like degenerate political movement ever.
00:58:29.000 They're always negative all the time.
00:58:30.000 We could be the positive.
00:58:32.000 We have the true answers.
00:58:34.000 So we should always be spreading that with joy and compassion and magnanimity.
00:58:39.000 And the final thing I'll say with this, which I think is really important of what you can do, is you've got to keep on bringing it to the Lord.
00:58:45.000 Fast and pray for your nation.
00:58:47.000 Daniel did this.
00:58:48.000 And I encourage people at least once a month, if you're worried about your country, and again, you've got all the accessories around your house, right?
00:58:54.000 You know, the relief factor and the pillow and all that.
00:58:56.000 I'd say your time would be better used fasting and praying for your nation.
00:59:00.000 The Lord will speak to you.
00:59:02.000 Ask God for wisdom and he will give it to you generously is what it says in James 1.5.
00:59:06.000 And so keep on bringing that to the Lord.
00:59:08.000 And I think God will speak to you in amazing ways.
00:59:09.000 Mike, whisper in your ear, run for office.
00:59:11.000 Whisper in your ear, support that ministry.
00:59:13.000 Whisper in your ear, Micah's family needs some help and support.
00:59:16.000 Pray for them.
00:59:17.000 So be constantly engaged and involved.
00:59:19.000 And it's a posture change, which I know is hard for some of you, where we have to stop being a spectator and start being a participant in the arena.
00:59:28.000 It could be something as simple as getting involved with the TPUSA faith group that we have at Life Church.
00:59:33.000 It could be something like, hey, I'm going to help the local Republican organization.
00:59:36.000 I'm going to bring them cookies once a month.
00:59:38.000 Whatever it is, you're going to get more engaged and more involved.
00:59:40.000 I'm going to be a priestly committee man.
00:59:42.000 I'm going to go help register voters.
00:59:43.000 All these things matter.
00:59:44.000 But that changes with the attitude.
00:59:47.000 An attitude of optimism and of joy and of asking God, God, use me as your vessel wherever we possibly can to fight for liberty to set the captives free.
00:59:56.000 God bless you.
00:59:57.000 Appreciate it.
01:00:00.000 Yeah.
01:00:00.000 Well, can we just thank Charlie for being here?
01:00:04.000 This is incredible.
01:00:05.000 I mean, you are such an encouragement.
01:00:08.000 And thank you guys so much.
01:00:11.000 God bless Indiana.
01:00:12.000 Thank you, brother.
01:00:13.000 Appreciate you.
01:00:14.000 Yep.
01:00:14.000 Yep.
01:00:20.000 Thank you so much for listening, everybody.
01:00:22.000 Email me your thoughts as always, freedom at charliekirk.com.
01:00:24.000 Thank you so much for listening.
01:00:26.000 God bless.
