00:00:00.000 Greetings everybody, I'm your host Krusty Canuck and today's show on this beautiful
00:00:28.800 April 18th 2019 we're going to be discussing the results of the Alberta provincial election
00:00:34.260 and more of the carbon fiasco I'm your host Krusty and well I'm not impressed it's great
00:00:42.300 to see that the NDP is out of Alberta and it's also great to see that we're actually probably
00:00:46.920 getting a little more progress but based on all the controversies that have been going on with
00:00:52.060 Jason Kenney and all these other guys and all these other clowns and who said what and he said
00:00:57.560 this and she said that blah blah blah come on people we're smarter than that was the NDP really
00:01:04.060 a force for good for Alberta honestly ask yourself this taxing people taxing people you know putting
00:01:10.580 more insurance claims raising all these wages you know everybody likes a good living wage I get it
00:01:16.920 it's worth it but have you actually been to some of the fast food joints and some of the smaller
00:01:21.480 joints out there in the major cities i.e. Edmonton and greater parts of Calgary and even eastern
00:01:27.540 Alberta here and do you not realize sometimes there's just not a lot of effort given when it
00:01:33.160 comes to you know getting things done makes you think now you know I remember minimum wage when I
00:01:38.600 was a teenager it was pretty low but you'll learn how to save your money and learn how to do things
00:01:42.780 right all right but needless to say I'm not saying that you can't or you don't deserve 15 bucks an hour
00:01:48.840 but what I'm saying is that you should make the effort to earn it too that's just my logic you know
00:01:53.880 I've had numerous jobs where I was making 10 12 you know and uh you know I did what I could save my
00:02:00.420 pennies you know I made some mistakes but I learned from those and paid my dues anyhow I'm glad the NDP
00:02:06.440 is out though you know regardless of uh whatever good intentions they had um they basically didn't
00:02:13.380 really well they didn't help the oil sector out Alberta is oil period you know uh yeah we've got
00:02:22.220 agriculture everything here but they weren't very fair to the farmers either too you know uh having
00:02:26.400 to put insurance on uh farm employees having to put insurance on uh their own family members which you
00:02:32.140 know generally people usually already have begin with that's what happens if you get big
00:02:36.420 government uh getting involved telling you how you have to be how you have to act how you have
00:02:41.320 to react and really it's none of the government's effing business it isn't you know who the hell is
00:02:47.680 the government to tell me how to run my business whether I'm uh you know uh harvesting you know
00:02:54.140 three or four hundred acres worth of canola or wheat or whether I'm uh trying to get oil out for the
00:02:58.820 people to drive their cars to work every day so the individuals out there they're disappointed
00:03:03.580 about the NDP not calling the shots well too bad you know is Jason Kenney any better I don't know
00:03:10.860 I don't know but uh you know personally I I do have some conservative values but I also have some
00:03:16.920 libertarian values meaning I believe in live and let live and keep big government out of our lives
00:03:22.140 that's right don't tell me what water I can use don't tell me what I have to drive
00:03:27.300 you know if I have the money to pay for it let me do it I don't need permission to fill my truck or
00:03:32.980 fill my car I don't need permission uh to assist my wife and helping her with her car you know I
00:03:38.440 mean and if you want to stop uh the so-called carbon footprint then maybe some of you political
00:03:44.220 types and you cronies stop jet setting around the world telling other people what to do because you
00:03:49.520 know how much carbon comes out of the back of an airplane apparently quite a bit and how much fuel
00:03:54.620 goes into a flight quite a bit quite a few pennies that comes to the taxpayers dollars
00:04:00.820 so a lot of you cronies can fly around tell us what to do does that sound familiar there miss climate
00:04:06.500 barbie you know 12 years to live apparently is that your logic okay didn't AOC say something like
00:04:13.940 that down in the states uh if you don't help ourselves we got like 12 years to live oh my god
00:04:19.140 it's like it's like it's world war ii like holy fuck ladies come on get a goddamn grip really
00:04:25.200 how bad is life really gonna be in 12 years oh we're all gonna die so we gotta charge an extra 10
00:04:33.200 15 cents or more every time you fill up your car or truck and every time you eat and every time you
00:04:38.660 fart and every time you breathe and cows are bad right yeah well f you no it's a cash grab it's a tax grab
00:04:46.060 all it is you know how are you gonna save the world in 12 years with these plans you know my
00:04:54.780 understanding if the world's gonna end in 12 years wouldn't there be some kind of plan put together
00:05:00.640 for us wouldn't there be some kind of dome maybe being made some invisible force field you know i don't
00:05:08.160 know would it be like uh the movie 2012 you know where all these boats are being made in china
00:05:12.840 and then you know whatever's left to humanity after all the disasters is saved on these giant
00:05:17.720 ships is that the logic is that what you're saving up for is that a conspiracy that works
00:05:23.000 no it's greedy politicians telling us again what to do how to live our lives what we got to spend our
00:05:29.860 money on and more or less being punished for using our vehicles now i would love to see an alternative
00:05:36.160 to fossil fuel i would love to see an alternative to something that's you know it might hurt the
00:05:42.680 environment i'd rather see something that works right we've tried the wind how does that work
00:05:47.540 wind turbines okay generate some power but what lubricates all those working parts in said turbines
00:05:53.560 it's not vegetable oil ladies and gentlemen
00:05:56.680 and solar panels okay how many of you know about a canadian winter sure the sun does shine sometimes
00:06:05.880 but then there's other days we get overcast no storms white outs and everything not too great for the sun
00:06:11.660 now is it you know there was a few days this past winter that reminded us of the ice age now yeah so
00:06:18.520 i don't know folks think for yourself well i don't think in any kind of carbon tax is worth
00:06:25.320 the taxpayers efforts and it's basically just a cover-up to liberal spending and hats off the
00:06:32.400 individuals that are backing up ontario and other provinces in regards to fighting this in court
00:06:37.320 i personally believe it's unconstitutional you know canadians on average are paying anywhere from 40
00:06:43.640 to 42 and a half percent of taxes a year that's including municipal that's including provincial and of
00:06:50.740 course the federal taxes which you know we all should pay by this time now according to our
00:06:55.600 authority figures right you know and then every so often you get a letter from the cra stating
00:07:01.120 oh we've reassessed you and we've recalculated you owe this much more great so so-called professionals
00:07:07.820 back in whatever tax area that looks after this country reassessing you and your personal income
00:07:13.880 telling you what more money you have to pay up because they can't do the fucking math simple
00:07:20.260 adding and subtracting hmm anyhow before i lose a gasket here blow my mind with all this ritualistic
00:07:30.120 anger i want to say a hats off to somebody very very dear to me nanny my grandmother she recently just
00:07:39.420 passed away and uh by the looks of my finances at the moment i don't think i'll be able to get home
00:07:44.020 for the funeral anyhow i'm not asking anyone for any money uh well i'll ask you to donate to uh to my
00:07:50.780 page and to my work here you can reach me at crustycanuck.ca uh you can reach me at crustybcanuck
00:07:58.160 67 at gmail follow me on facebook and follow me on instagram on the same name crustycanuck
00:08:05.000 uh if you want to donate to my work here please do i encourage it i have t-shirts i have mugs all
00:08:10.900 that good stuff and 30 percent of every donation and every sale of my merchandise i will graciously
00:08:15.600 give to the calgary veterans food bank and if anything's left over i will gladly live to my
00:08:20.940 local legion here uh because i believe in helping up veterans and those in need to the best of my
00:08:25.680 ability but hats off to my grandmother her name is amelia she lived to the ripe age of 97 years
00:08:32.780 and uh she's overcome a lot she raised six beautiful kids one of them being my mother
00:08:39.020 who passed away a few years back and uh well nanny i miss you you know you taught me a lot
00:08:47.520 your patience and your virtue really inspired a lot in me and i'm thankful and i'm grateful that you're
00:08:55.780 in my life and i am so blessed that i had your teachings and your guidance i'm gonna miss you
00:09:03.180 you know but you'll be with gramps you'll be with mom you'll be with patty you'll be with everyone you
00:09:08.920 ever cared about ladies and gentlemen when the elderly pass let's keep this in mind that they've
00:09:16.200 lived one hell of a life now my grandmother my grandpa survived the great depression they did
00:09:22.180 their part during world war ii and they overcame instrumental odds uh through every economic
00:09:28.340 upheaval that this country has seen and they still managed to raise six wonderful kids and those six
00:09:34.500 kids gave birth to me my sisters my cousins and they gave birth to some of my second cousins so
00:09:41.860 hats off to the walpole family in owens sound ontario hats off to everyone that counted too
00:09:48.340 but uh enough of that i don't want to get all emotional here i'm doing this show for you the
00:09:53.200 listener and the viewer i'm working on more videos as we speak too i had some software issues but
00:09:57.980 in the meantime this is what i've got to offer so please enjoy and if you have a comment uh at the
00:10:03.880 aforementioned uh addresses crusty canuck.ca reach me there or at crusty b canuck that's crusty
00:10:11.500 letter b canuck 67 at gmail or reach me at facebook on crusty canuck and instagram at canuck crusty
00:10:18.220 so moving on the election results is jason kenny the best best person i would say he's a hell of a lot
00:10:26.120 better than notley you know and it's not a matter of me settling or you know not getting out there and
00:10:33.800 choosing a better candidate i chose who i thought would be the better person for the job i didn't
00:10:39.420 care about gender or quota or parity i cared about who made sense in that last debate and you can
00:10:46.940 reference that in uh in the last podcast i had there or check out yourself i put links on the
00:10:52.700 page there but i said the last debate just didn't show a lot it was cbc basically refereeing um it was
00:10:59.700 like a high school fight if anything i've seen high school debate teams have more integrity and more
00:11:04.340 chutzpah than uh these clowns you know everybody's getting cut off everybody was uh being told what to
00:11:11.700 say when to say it and of course the officiator there stating oh you got one minute oh 45 seconds
00:11:17.300 oh you got this oh you got that oh it was like watching a bad episode of the air force holy shit
00:11:23.000 well i've seen some good political dates before but that one was just right the fuck out to lunch
00:11:28.640 ladies and gentlemen so with that being said i think jason kenny will do good for this province
00:11:34.860 uh but every conservative government that has been elected after any ndp or any liberal government
00:11:40.660 we're gonna have to tighten our uh our belts tie up our shoes a bit tighter and i predict that
00:11:49.000 there's going to be some social programs probably being cut because of the ridiculous spending that
00:11:53.440 notley uh committed you know regardless of her virtues regardless of what she promoted you know i'm a
00:11:59.580 firm believer in equal rights for all i i don't care if you're gay straight bi i don't care
00:12:04.200 you know i don't care uh what alliances are alive what alliances are not alive it's a matter of
00:12:10.460 common courtesy and human decency and that shit you're taught when you're raised ladies and gentlemen
00:12:15.280 that you don't need the government to show you that we don't we don't need the government telling us how
00:12:22.640 to be good to people we should have that instinct and that desire in us already regardless well
00:12:30.240 your kids are going to go to school get a secondary education they should be learning how to read and
00:12:35.120 write how do you prop their mathematics hell let's incorporate home ec again what's wrong with
00:12:41.240 teaching a kid how to cook for his or herself right bring back woodshop bring back mechanics bring back
00:12:46.240 drafting god i loved drafting when i was in high school i thought that was fantastic
00:12:49.900 you know i loved it so much i was actually thinking about prison as a career too
00:12:53.880 but then i realized oh wait a minute i'm being taught metric and everything's still imperial
00:12:58.060 oh well needless to say i persevered but uh yeah you don't see too many high schools out there anymore
00:13:06.380 really incorporating you know hands-on work and you know maybe that's what the notly government
00:13:11.380 should have done is incorporate a little more education in the education instead of sitting there
00:13:16.920 waving the virtue flag like a bad south park episode thing let's do it for the children oh yes let's do it
00:13:23.120 for the children yes exactly for the children but those children are going to grow up to be
00:13:27.640 so-called functioning adults right and they can't handle cooking some rice or they can't handle cooking
00:13:34.640 a meal or they can't handle putting together a table because they don't have the basic skills
00:13:39.980 so when it comes to education let's talk about reality here and i think the ucp might have a good firm
00:13:46.180 hand in that well but then what you think if you uh beg to differ or if you want to debate
00:13:51.240 please let me know uh give me a comment below here you can reach me at podbean
00:13:55.200 crusty knucks podcast on podbean leave a comment when i post this uh this cast and we can go from there
00:14:01.700 all right but uh you cp i don't know i think they're probably the better party
00:14:09.040 and with the landslide of winning you know 64 seats out of an 87 seat legislature i think they're
00:14:15.880 probably going to do a better job you know i think they're really going to get things running
00:14:24.420 and probably put some more faith back in the oil patch you know i got nothing against working for
00:14:29.180 a living i got nothing against anybody out there hauling ass whether it be 12 16 hour days but
00:14:33.720 there's got to be a purpose there's got to be a reason for it and to automatically just dismiss the
00:14:37.680 oil patch because the environmental impact well no one considers the environmental impact when it
00:14:42.720 comes to people dumping raw sewage in the saint lawrence seaway do they okay la belle provence can
00:14:48.040 get away with that and then uh certain officials in the quebec parliament can sit there and dictate
00:14:54.140 uh the pros and cons of canadian oil all they want but i don't see too many quebec people standing up
00:15:00.320 and saying uh uh screw you charlie on that right i'm not dissing quebec i love quebec i've worked a lot
00:15:07.500 of good quebecers i've met some fantastic people from la belle provence and uh well they want oil
00:15:13.860 right they want oil you know there's a market for canadian oil out there and rather than just us
00:15:21.720 selling to the states and trying to div up whatever profits to give equalization how about we start
00:15:28.440 standing up to ottawa and saying uh no fuck you charlie you take enough tax already you're not taking
00:15:34.580 are any more of our oil so and then they wonder why people want to separate hmm interesting right
00:15:41.420 so oh you you've heard enough about the ass clown in ottawa mr justin trudeau and is threatening to
00:15:49.360 sue mr sheer yeah because uh you put him on the spot welcome to adulthood justin you make a mistake
00:15:56.580 you own it that's for everybody in your cabinet too so i just hope this uh election will inspire the
00:16:03.280 rest of canadians to make the right decision especially when it comes to october right um
00:16:09.880 there's no such thing as a perfect government you and i both know it right no such thing as
00:16:14.700 as perfect politics or a perfect democracy but uh god i have worked and i have fought with a lot of
00:16:22.440 guys who deserve a hell of a lot better than that right we gotta look after our veterans we gotta look
00:16:28.260 after our seniors we have to look after the first nations and make sure they got clean water folks
00:16:33.260 period i i think clean water is beyond a right water is life whether you swim in it bathe in it drink
00:16:42.060 it wash with it clean water why is that so difficult
00:16:46.900 why ask yourself that you know is it mismanagement is it poor leadership
00:16:54.360 you could factor all those uh things in there but uh when the federal government says they're gonna
00:17:00.860 clean up the water body well do it i don't care what shield you wear i don't care if you're conservative
00:17:07.380 liberal or ndp i don't care if you're libertarian i don't care if you're uh mad max is uh people's party
00:17:13.100 of canada let's clean it up everybody deserves a a clean drink of water period well water's life
00:17:22.060 there's no excuse for it as far as i'm concerned no so next election let's think about the politicians
00:17:30.220 and uh think about uh how they screwed a lot of good people out there especially people back home in
00:17:36.580 ontario people i missed and people some old friends and family well my family members are paying
00:17:41.760 ridiculous amounts of taxes and uh you know they can never get a straight answer when something needs
00:17:46.600 to be said all right all the people that harp about uh you know mr ford and his you know buck a beer
00:17:53.840 scenario well that's what happens when you elect a liberal government to look after things and they
00:17:58.740 spend spend spend spend spend put yourselves into debt and then here come the conservatives again who
00:18:03.980 have to you know tighten up the belt and uh start cutting things right that's just how it works
00:18:11.020 no i'm not saying it's a good thing but i'm not saying it's a bad thing either i'm not going to sit
00:18:16.940 here and say uh you know doug ford's a great guy but uh i am going to say well he really gave win a run
00:18:24.160 for her money and some of my friends and family in ontario you know really couldn't stand her and her
00:18:30.480 blabbering and her whole diversity concept when it came to you know letting everybody just walk
00:18:38.940 right in you know i don't know that's just when she's gone she's a win bag you know the whole
00:18:45.840 cabinet's a bunch of all the win bags anyhow tell me what you think you can reach me at crusty
00:18:50.520 canuck.ca crusty canuck correction crusty b canuck 67 at gmail.com or send me a comment or two on
00:18:59.280 facebook same name crusty canuck or an instagram
00:19:02.120 i need to hear your voices folks challenge me debate talk to me let's get the dialogue going here
00:19:10.460 let's get things on the run let's keep talking you know this alberto election is only the stepping
00:19:19.360 stone so i think probably something greater you know as i said nothing's perfect you're not going
00:19:24.480 to find a super perfect government in any situation any country but uh excuse me it's time for canadians
00:19:34.880 to stand up and get pissed off you know really and alberta proved it well they proved it and yeah
00:19:42.800 there were some other decent candidates out there uh mr mendelson seemed legit he was happy to do oil he
00:19:48.760 was happy you know to straighten things and strengthen things rather but uh well he just did he didn't
00:19:57.160 get a seat okay and i'm so bloody happy too that the mr liberal representative mr khan himself even
00:20:04.880 though he sounded like he had good points in the debate never got elected well done well done alberta
00:20:12.800 because i'll tell you this right now the liberals i grew up with okay aren't the liberals that are out
00:20:20.560 there today not even close all right you're sitting there waving the flag of all this kumbaya isms and
00:20:29.440 everything right you're forgetting about security you're forgetting about people's ability to work
00:20:36.560 and think for themselves right too many nannies out there too many nanny states looking after things
00:20:43.760 and liberal and ndp are alike when it comes to that so that's my spiel on that right well let's hope uh
00:20:51.760 when october comes around folks ladies and gentlemen that we actually think don't put your heart into it
00:20:57.840 save your heart for your jobs and your families and your loved ones and your passions
00:21:00.960 but let's start looking at the good people that can do some good work in this country they might be
00:21:08.240 conservative they might be ppc you know they might be libertarian no i myself i'm getting tired of big
00:21:17.760 government telling you what i can and cannot do with my money and with my time i fought for canada
00:21:24.400 my comrades fought for canada we fought together against what we thought was a terrible thing
00:21:34.160 we thought we were doing a good job and then the last thing we want to see is this country turn into
00:21:38.640 something other than canada right
00:21:43.840 i'm not saying that on a racial stereotype i'm not trying to segregate i'm not trying to be hateful
00:21:48.880 here i'm talking about we fought for a democracy that works let's keep it working folks you know
00:21:58.640 a lot of us crusty old vets we don't care what color you are we don't care what religion you are
00:22:02.960 we don't care what your preference is in or out of the bedroom we just care about looking after good
00:22:09.280 people that care in return right so when it comes to the next federal election let's look at the
00:22:16.400 veterans let's look at the seniors let's look at the people that have worked 30 some cases 40 years
00:22:23.760 right let's keep education as education not indoctrination let's start teaching younger
00:22:30.640 people how to do things on their own how to make their own meals how to make a chair how to make a
00:22:37.200 table you know how to change a tire
00:22:40.480 how to sometimes put your goddamn cell phone down and have a fucking conversation with somebody
00:22:48.560 don't worry folks i'm guilty of that too sometimes my wife and i are just as guilty for that
00:22:53.520 and i have to catch myself to put it down and say
00:22:55.920 fuck babe how was your day you know i mean
00:22:59.920 actually have a heart-to-heart actual face-to-face conversation over a cup of tea or coffee or a beer
00:23:06.080 whatever well we forget that so there's more things at stake here than just you know canadian
00:23:14.880 pride when it comes to our elections let's get back to some basics and start hiring people that have
00:23:20.720 the qualifications right meritocracy classic meritocracy you know and when i look at this
00:23:28.320 government here now in alberta i'm looking at meritocracy i think
00:23:31.280 to its almost finest point you know you have all these people that are actually qualified to do
00:23:38.640 things and they're not put in key positions just because of their gender or because they're associated
00:23:44.080 with with some group they all promote merit they all promote integrity and genuine interest and
00:23:51.280 genuine desire to look after the people of alberta now if we had that in ottawa well you know i don't
00:23:58.160 think we'd have a problem with the liberal party the problem is that we don't we don't have
00:24:04.960 officials in ottawa looking after our interests they're looking after their own and a handful of
00:24:09.600 people in quebec and a handful of people ontario and a handful of people in europe you know how they
00:24:16.000 want to see things how they want to rule things all the time so when people ask me and people have
00:24:23.440 pointed and you know accused me of being you know sexist there's nothing sexist about hiring somebody
00:24:29.680 who could do the job it doesn't matter what gender you are can you do the work as far as i'm concerned
00:24:37.040 you're hired if you can't right anyway something to think about folks you know the alberta election
00:24:44.160 was a success as far as i'm concerned and now i can work in the rest of the country
00:24:48.400 yeah i don't want to see alberta separate alberta is just as important to canada as what quebec is
00:24:54.320 what pei is what newfoundland labrador northwest territories none of it yukon bc saskatchewan manitoba
00:25:01.040 and ontario alike new brunswick you know every province has its importance every person has their
00:25:10.480 importance every man woman and child have their importance in this country as far as i'm concerned
00:25:17.120 you're all worth fighting for all these
00:25:23.040 but we got to have people in there that are willing to fight for us too
00:25:26.800 they're willing to look at the whole carbon fiasco and say okay no more carbon tax
00:25:32.080 willing willing to say okay you want to put all this much crap in the river and in the air fine
00:25:37.440 tax those individuals that do that tax the people responsible for that don't give 12 million bucks to
00:25:45.440 the loblaws they didn't need it but we all know based on my last episode how well in sync the whole
00:25:51.440 weston family is in tune with the liberals and ndp right that 12 million dollars could have gone to uh
00:25:59.840 the grassy roots nation that needed clean water that needed needed help needed a boost
00:26:06.480 or could have gone to other reservations or it could have gone to some seniors
00:26:09.120 or it could have gone to some schools that needed renovations right oh but what do i know you're
00:26:14.720 just a crusty old veteran what the fuck do you know eh quite a bit common sense common sense politics
00:26:21.280 is what we need folks you know and if anybody's interested in running
00:26:27.360 for any other party i highly suggest we get some more blue collar folk out there in the world
00:26:31.760 you know from all walks of life doesn't matter farmers carpenters mechanics trades people of all
00:26:37.440 sorts all shapes and sizes all genders and identities whatever that may be but needless to say
00:26:44.480 well let's get some more blue collar common sense ground in there you know there's nothing wrong with
00:26:50.000 making money nothing wrong with paying taxes as long as the taxes are going to something legit and don't
00:26:55.600 tell me roads what a con that is holy fuck all right used to be running joke all those two seasons in
00:27:04.080 canada winter and construction
00:27:08.160 unfortunately that's becoming a reality you're seeing more and more construction going on more and more
00:27:13.600 congestion and more and more bullshit so don't tell me that comes with roads all right
00:27:19.360 anyhow like i say let's get into the frame of mind where we need some more blue color mentality
00:27:26.640 it's more common sense getting people in there making decisions for us not just for a handful of
00:27:34.560 people that can be flown to a private island yes and sit around and talk about oh how am i gonna sell
00:27:40.800 Canada down the road yeah you know how that goes anyhow folks i've been crusty canuck
