00:02:58.440 never reached out to me okay you guys are awesome too in your own special way anyhow i had spent some

00:03:04.000 time with my uncle my aunt uh my sisters and just had a really really good time something i really

00:03:09.540 really needed and i especially had a great time uh northern ontario with my father my stepmother

00:03:13.760 uh the cottage there and just chilling out you know doing some annual labor throughout the day you know

00:03:18.840 chopping some wood doing some gardening that kind of thing uh eating fresh vegetables uh some fresh fruit

00:03:24.460 and just really really put my feet up and just kicking back it was a holiday that was well over

00:03:29.920 overdue and i had to take it but uh it was something i needed it touched with my my roots again back to my

00:03:37.940 home base that kind of thing and just reflect on things for what they really are and regardless of

00:03:43.200 what might be coming in the near future or the plight that's going to happen to us canadians who knows

00:03:50.140 but it was just good to be with the family and friends uh nieces nephews all that good stuff

00:03:54.300 especially the individuals that made their way to come and see me my stepbrothers especially

00:03:59.180 you know uh the time and effort they took so i'm grateful so that's why the title card says

00:04:04.780 gratitude and grievances episode 303 ladies and gentlemen i am showing some gratitude to my uh

00:04:11.980 uh to my stepbrothers who have given up some of their time to share with me which was nice

00:04:18.380 and i'm ever so grateful so i'm showing some gratitude there gratitude to my family and friends

00:04:23.420 who did make the effort to come around and say hello all that good stuff microphone keeps uh

00:04:28.620 slinging here anyhow make a long story short had a great time ladies and gentlemen and i'm grateful

00:04:32.740 those little things that everyone has done thus far to make this podcast what it is and just to make

00:04:39.020 things a lot easier for us uh to keep things going here my microphone stand is screwy here anyhow folks

00:04:44.860 i'm just showing some gratitude for what we have and i've said some in some of my videos there too

00:04:50.540 to show the positive things the pot is of light and what we have and we have to keep going regardless

00:04:55.900 regardless the manufacturer director does not keep your chins up and question the authorities question

00:05:01.100 the status quo all that good stuff and especially what's going on in britain right now with all the

00:05:05.660 censorship and people going to jail for saying bad words online in the name of immigration it puts 0.51

00:05:11.740 things in perspective folks is the same doctrine going to come here i hope not let's hope not for

00:05:19.180 the sake of our sanity here ladies and gentlemen uh but like i say once again i am grateful uh to

00:05:24.860 everybody who has come around and who said hello and to my family and friends that have made the effort

00:05:30.060 to keep in touch after all these years too and those individuals never bothered to keep in touch well

00:05:35.180 you know where i am if you want to find me you can still find me and talk to me don't be shy you've got

00:05:40.220 my contact information right and if for some reason if you think it's beneath you to say something to

00:05:47.740 me or to talk to me then that problem is on you not on me or anybody else okay because i know what kind

00:05:55.820 of friend i have been to a lot of people out there and i know where i stand and i know what i believe in

00:06:01.580 and what i fought for and what i'm going to keep fighting for so keep that in mind ladies and gentlemen

00:06:07.340 those individuals that uh just didn't really care to say hello you know anyhow enough of that uh

00:06:13.420 whining i'm just trying to be grateful to the fun times i had i'm grateful to be back here in alberta

00:06:19.100 too but back to work uh come friday and i'm back to be happy to be back with my wife and to get things

00:07:07.500 gracious for some of the things we have you know my parents flew me to ontario to get things on the go

00:07:13.100 and i had a great time the flight there everything was planned you know uh it was about maybe a month

00:07:17.980 and a half uh the flight was booked prior to my departure so there should be no problems or hiccups

00:07:23.740 uh but i'll come to the grievances momentarily you know but uh it didn't it didn't go off with

00:07:30.700 any problems i got the airport okay well i had a friend of mine give me a ride i had to give him

00:07:35.900 some gas money but it was worth it and uh i just really enjoyed the flight there and and then the

00:07:41.340 flight back well kind of like i said i'll get to that shortly ladies and gentlemen you know uh watch

00:07:47.340 the olympics let's just say i was impressed with some of the canadian i was impressed with some of

00:07:52.060 the canadian athletes but i was not impressed with the politics of the whole thing needless to

00:07:55.660 say we had some of our athletes kick ass and take some names which is good and i'll even give a 0.56

00:07:59.660 little salute out there to the break dancer mr wizard who received gold for the bebop or the b-rock 0.82

00:08:04.300 whatever they call it anyway break dancing ladies gentlemen it's an art form as far as i'm concerned 0.89

00:08:08.860 it shouldn't be in the olympics excuse me but uh he kicked ass and took names so good for him 0.95

00:08:16.700 mr wizard but uh we'll see the next olympiad if they're going to have ballroom dancing

00:08:21.900 or maybe interpretive dance for all the activists out there who knows hey who knows what's gonna

00:08:26.060 happen

00:08:29.820 anyway time will tell but uh i've rambled on enough about how grateful i am and i am grateful

00:08:36.300 to the people in my life so far and uh i'm even grateful to people that haven't shown me any

00:08:40.940 gratitude so you guys know who you are uh right back after this stay updated and follow christie

00:09:48.380 themselves during my holiday i am very very grateful thank you very much for your kind words and support

00:09:53.980 and keep on liking subscribing share it all over the place and those people out there haven't showed

00:09:58.620 me any time of day you know who you are and i'm not going to sit and dwell on things and all that too

00:10:04.700 i reached out to many people over the past uh 10 years and not too many people have given me

00:10:09.900 responses back either than my friends and my family and the people that actually make the effort to say

00:10:16.060 hello crusty how are you you know what i mean but i'm not going to keep dwelling anyhow now it's up for

00:10:22.060 the grievances ladies and gentlemen okay i'm having some issues with my microphone here i guess you can

00:10:27.580 see it has been a few weeks so i should have uh went over this thing with a fine tooth comb uh needless to

00:10:34.060 say i'm just trying to keep it steady so i don't have to sit here and look like some kind of over

00:10:37.260 overblown broadcaster uh covering some uh serious sporting event needless to say uh my grievance is

00:10:44.300 simple okay now i took air canada okay i took air canada uh the flight was bought for me i'm not dissing my

00:10:51.660 parents for giving me a good flight like i said when i arrived at the airport in edmonton everything

00:10:56.860 went smooth you know security checks all that good stuff everything was fantastic everything was hunky

00:11:02.860 dory you know i've managed to bring the luggage i needed with me and the luggage i brought back all

00:11:07.740 that good stuff but here's the kicker now it was about a month and a half when my stepmother my father

00:11:13.660 booked these flights for me my to there and my back return all that good stuff okay now

00:11:21.660 at 6 30 in the morning uh yesterday eastern standard time i received an email that the uh

00:11:27.020 flights have changed okay i understand delays i've been delayed before in other airlines don't worry

00:11:32.380 okay i'm not devastated because of one delay what pissed me off throughout the whole day was

00:11:38.380 there were three delays for the one flight from north bay to toronto and then another three delays

00:11:43.500 from toronto to edmonton so it was frustrating now the thing is is that air canada apparently had this

00:11:49.500 all over the country there was all this crap going on canada wide apparently now from i understood

00:11:55.980 from other passengers and other staff at both airports there were some issues with this whole 0.88

00:12:02.620 thing now apparently there might be a strike in the works okay now we've had enough strikes over the

00:12:09.260 years to understand that there's always going to be a grievance no matter what what it usually comes

00:12:13.660 down to is the union grievances now from i understand uh airline pilots make a pretty penny

00:12:19.340 now i'm not dissing the skill and the craftsmanship and the responsibility these pilots do have when it

00:12:24.620 comes to getting people to point a to point b across the country across the continent and across the globe

00:12:30.220 or all over the globe for that matter where i do have a grievances is that when you have customers

00:12:36.060 paying top dollar especially for canada's number one airline air canada right and you don't have the 0.93

00:12:43.100 courtesy of getting your shit in order customers get frustrated now you heard me ramble on about my tv 0.96

00:12:49.820 provider screwing around okay both my wife and i we have talked to three different people at each occasion 0.99

00:12:57.260 to get my television sorted out and what it came down to was a technical issue within our remote

00:13:03.020 okay our remote and would you think that the powers that be it said television provider

00:13:10.620 could give us that information hmm would you think that

00:13:15.500 not a chance okay so the amount of times that i complained and i bitched and moaned and the amount

00:13:25.100 of times my wife complained and bitched and moaned to these individuals that we pay to give us a good television 1.00

00:13:30.300 service not one of them could come up with a viable solution to give us a hand to figure a simple

00:13:35.580 thing out but instead we did send a tech like we asked for and he maybe did six ten minutes or or so

00:13:43.820 of work to show us how to do something which in turn is going to cost me roughly seventy five dollars

00:13:49.900 because of his services all because the powers that be in this big corporation that owned ctv and gave

00:14:01.100 themselves a healthy raise couldn't hire six people to tell us what the f was going on

00:14:07.820 so what's that tell you folks so then that reminds me because of the incompetency of certain individuals

00:14:13.260 at air canada okay delaying a simple flight three times so originally i had a flight planned for 10

00:14:19.900 o'clock then it was 10 30 then it was 1 30 then it was 150 and then it was 220 and eventually we got

00:14:26.540 in the air roughly about a quarter after three so i sat at that airport where i could have spent more

00:14:31.180 time with my family driving around north bay hanging out you know being there for them you know thinking

00:14:38.780 that oh i better get here because i got this flight at this time right another five and a half hours

00:14:43.660 gone waiting for a plane right now when i got to toronto same thing mid-air i get a text you know i

00:14:52.140 should have had airplane mode on oh my bad crusty how dare you i should have an airplane mode on but

00:14:57.020 needless to say i got received another text saying flight in toronto to edmonton is delayed another 20

00:15:02.300 minutes oh great so i know all this crap before now the rumors were is that there wasn't enough crew

00:15:08.140 or another technical issue now i heard the term technical issue about seven times

00:15:12.780 in regards to the north bay flights and in regards to the toronto flights and then it came down to the 0.78

00:15:17.820 crew issue so here's this big fucking airline that has all these wonderful bells and whistles and 0.99

00:15:23.660 great commercials and great safety videos and they couldn't get their shit together tell the 0.99

00:15:28.940 passengers what the fuck was going on right but hey guess what for my trouble waiting for north bay 0.99

00:15:34.620 you know what they gave me you know okay look at this folks oh look at that that's a pretty piece 1.00

00:15:40.380 of paper isn't it oh my god it's a voucher it's a meal voucher oh joy smack my ass and call me judy 0.99

00:15:48.380 for all my troubles and inconveniences they couldn't fucking muster up 25 but no i got 1.00

00:15:53.900 fucking 15 now what does 15 bucks get you in an airport slap and tickle for someone else's pickle 0.99

00:16:00.620 hey a coffee and a reach around maybe a donut or a latte if you're lucky maybe a bowl of chili a bun 1.00

00:16:08.060 who knows it gets you sweet fuck all in modern airports today ladies and gentlemen might get you a 0.99

00:16:12.700 parking voucher for another trip right but this is all they can goddamn come up with a 15 dollar 0.99

00:16:19.180 effing fucking voucher really so it doesn't matter if i paid for the flight or my parents paid for 0.98

00:16:25.580 the flight or if other people pay for a flight or if your job pays for the flight they 1.00

00:16:29.420 fucked you around because they couldn't get their shit together right so that's my grievance ladies 1.00

00:16:34.860 and gentlemen with the airline because i could have been home last night roughly around five o'clock 1.00

00:16:39.820 mountain standard time but no because of the skull fuckery they promoted and the bullshit and the 0.98

00:16:45.100 politics right and the basically trying to save face in the midst of bullshit okay i didn't get home to 0.98

00:16:52.140 about 130 okay now i'm great to be home and i'm grateful for the opportunity of seeing my family

00:17:00.540 okay but you look at the airlines in this country and what it costs to fly within the country it would

00:17:05.820 have been cheaper for me to fly to britain than to fly around canada would have been cheaper for my

00:17:09.980 family to send me to britain and send me back i probably would have had better connection

00:17:13.740 right when you look at this this this buffoonery that has been instilled on us ladies and gentlemen

00:17:20.940 all right and other agreements i have too is that more and more of these unions are starting to speak

00:17:25.100 up again more unions are starting to come out of the woodwork again okay now i did have a video

00:17:30.300 queued up here with uh fred hahn uh fqp out of ontario now this fred hahn guy obviously he's homosexual 0.98

00:17:38.940 i personally don't care what his preference is it's not my concern but he's a union boss okay

00:17:44.940 and uh he's been going on these anti-semitic rants quite a bit and his excuse is that he represents

00:17:50.620 290 000 workers okay well if you represent 290 000 workers mr frederick hahn you should keep your

00:17:57.580 political opinions to yourself and worry about the benefit of this 290 000 workers you represent

00:18:02.620 it's it's simple but i guess it's simple is too hard these days right because you have to reinvent

00:18:09.340 words and reinvent politics for the sake of your union right i always understand unions as representing

00:18:16.540 the workers and staying by the workers not your own political dogma so mr fred hahn up yours yeah you

00:18:23.580 know what anyway enough of that anger i'm still pissed off over this uh 15 voucher oh well you inconvenes

00:18:31.340 me for about six hours and i get 15 bucks hey oh wow oh big spenders hey oh wow that's great 0.99

00:18:37.820 cheap bastards that's all needs to say i won't be flying with you clowns ever again 0.99

00:18:54.140 and ladies and gentlemen you're back to episode 303 of the crusty canuck podcast gratitude and

00:19:02.140 grievance i'm your host crusty canuck ladies and gentlemen and welcome welcome all back it's good

00:19:06.780 to be back in alberta i am glad i had such a great holiday with family and friends especially got to

00:19:11.900 see my old high school friend peter and hanging out with him and his new girlfriend and robin and i forget

00:19:17.420 the other people we were hanging out with but it was pretty fast and furious those few days but uh

00:19:23.180 good times good times had to be had um i also went and visited some of my fallen family members i

00:19:29.340 went to see my mother's grave uh great aunt's grave and my grandparents grave and i actually cracked open

00:19:34.220 a beer and i sat by my grandfather's grave and shared a beer with them you know that's something he

00:19:39.660 liked uh when i got in the military he he uh enjoyed that because he did his time during world war ii

00:19:45.260 and he liked the fact that i was making a career out of this service and we always crack a beer and

00:19:51.260 shoot the breeze about his experiences and my experiences that kind of thing that kind of bonding

00:19:55.500 so when i went and visited his grave i cracked a beer and i poured some down you know one for me

00:20:01.340 one for my homie that kind of thing and uh just reflected on some pretty cool things

00:20:06.940 i mean like it's not a short it was nice to go see the family hang out get back in touch with the

00:20:11.980 important things in life ladies and gentlemen your family you know uh whoever is your family

00:20:17.020 it doesn't matter color creed gender identity sexuality it doesn't matter whoever is your family

00:20:22.540 keep that bond alive ladies and gentlemen keep that bond strong keep that bond real and keep it pure

00:20:27.660 to the best of your ability because it just it just warms your heart now enough of this drum circle hippie

00:20:32.540 stuff but i i think you all know what i mean and i i'm very very grateful i had the opportunity to go home

00:20:39.820 and to touch base again you know i got to drink some homemade liquor which was kind of cool you

00:20:45.100 know because the government gets enough of that already uh leave the homemade stuff alone and like

00:20:50.940 i said touch base with some of my aunts and uncles too so that was that was good again so uh but the

00:20:56.620 grievance is always of course the air canada thing and my tv provider and what's going to be coming in

00:21:01.260 the next few months ladies and gentlemen so be prepared for that but on that note ladies and gentlemen
