00:16:30.660 on it. There's nine justices, five are Muslim. A man blasphemes Allah and the Prophet. Or maybe
00:16:39.440 be just a law. He gets arrested and charged because he lives in a town that has a dominant
00:16:45.240 Muslim political faction, say Hamtram. Hamtram, is that how you say it? Okay, he gets arrested,
00:16:52.040 he gets criminally charged for blasphemy, and he files a lawsuit. And it doesn't matter what
00:16:56.020 happened, the court says, let's say the court denies it, so he appeals. He finds himself before
00:17:00.200 the Supreme Court, and they argue this is clearly protected free speech. You can say whatever you
00:17:06.680 believe? How will a majority Muslim Supreme Court rule on that question? I'll give you a few seconds
00:17:15.340 to stew and think about it and comment. And now I'm going to tell you the most likely scenario.
00:17:21.320 The question I have for you, do you believe they would uphold the conviction on blaspheming Allah?
00:17:26.320 Or do you believe they would say it is free speech to blaspheme Allah? Here's what they
00:17:32.620 would likely say. At the time of the ratification of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights,
00:17:37.980 the founding fathers did not believe blasphemy was protected, though Jefferson to a certain degree
00:17:44.000 did. Most of the founding fathers agreed that if you blasphemed, you could be and would be
00:17:50.680 criminally prosecuted. In fact, many were. And it was actually not even fully challenged until the
00:17:58.300 50s, while many blasphemy charges started to dissipate, the question asked, is it constitutional
00:18:06.140 for a jurisdiction to pass a law banning blasphemy? This court upholds. Yes, this man blasphemed Allah.
00:18:16.780 And therefore, according to the original interpretation of the of the First Amendment,
00:18:22.080 You are not, you do not have a free speech right to blaspheme.
