00:09:21.600Newsom is as establishment as it gets.
00:09:24.600As the governor of the nation's largest state,
00:09:26.120he's the logical next in line candidate
00:09:27.780for the establishment faction of the Democratic Party,
00:09:29.660but perhaps also the best-known Democrat
00:09:31.600who isn't Harris or 80-plus years old.
00:09:35.660But this comes at a time when the establishment
00:09:37.580is highly unpopular, including with Democratic voters.
00:09:41.320Last year, Newsom made a few conspicuous moves towards a more heterodox centric side by inviting people like Charlie Kirk on his podcast and shifting to the right on transgender athletes.
00:09:50.900And in January, he announced his opposition to California's proposed wealth tax that might appear on this November's ballot.
00:09:56.160You know, I got to see if I can get an interview with Gavin Newsom.
00:10:00.320You know, I don't care to talk about Trump or any of that.
00:10:04.320These moves, although not necessarily popular with Democratic primary voters, might suggest a
00:10:10.000candidate trying to break out of the establishment box. But Newsom's strategy has been a little
00:10:13.860contradictory. Who was one of his most recent podcast guests? Hunter Biden, the pardoned son
00:10:19.500of the former president. Indeed, indeed, we get the point. I don't care to revel in the failings
00:10:24.840of Gavin Newsom all that much. But talk about what's currently going on. And we got this from
00:10:29.040abc news kamala harris eyes possible 2028 comeback but some former allies look to fresh faces holy

00:11:12.280the Republican Party's in trouble. Let me pull up this year old 270 to win. Here's the current,
00:11:18.720that's a Senate map. Let's pull up the House map. Here's the current House electoral map.
00:11:23.340This is what 270 to win calls the 2026 consensus. As of right now, Republicans have 211 likely seats. Democrats have 205. There are 19 toss ups. However, Republicans have the advantage, needing only to win about seven seats to secure that majority, whereas Democrats would need to win 13.
00:11:44.980So it's looking good for Republicans. But again, this is consensus. And the problem with consensus
00:11:52.080is the call she market predicts Democrats will take 226 seats to Republicans 204 with only five
00:11:59.300toss ups. Well, according to the people making the bets, it's a done deal. Democrats are going
00:12:04.620to win. Now, this makes literally no sense. Sabato's crystal ball has Republicans at 13,
00:12:10.560213 to Democrats 206 with 16 toss-ups, Republicans favored. Cook Political Report has Republicans at
00:12:17.940212 to Democrats 205 with 18 toss-ups, Republicans favored. Inside Elections has Republicans at 215
00:12:25.340to Democrats 206, massive favorites. Split ticket. This is a new, I'm not familiar with,
00:12:33.500maybe it's not new, but they have Democrats at 224 to Republicans 202, and that just seems
00:12:38.100nuts to me. When you look at all of the standard polling, which typically has favored Democrats,
00:12:44.480not perfectly in the midterms, but in larger federal elections in the presidential cycle,
00:12:50.280it's looking good for Republicans, plain and simple. And for that matter, when we take a look
00:12:56.900at 2026 right now, as the consensus map shows, Republicans holding 50 seats, Democrats 407,
00:13:03.360Democrats would have to win. They'd have to win every toss up and flip a Republican seat,
00:13:09.300which just seems insane. Yet Calci's prediction markets believe Democrats will take 51 seats. I
00:13:16.580just don't. They think Alaska is going Democrat. That's crazy. When you when you jump to inside
00:13:22.680elections, 52 Republican, 45 Democrat. These are not conservative pollsters. These these are
00:13:29.900traditionally beneficial to Democrats. Right now, across the board, in terms of polling,
00:13:35.540even Kalshi's betting is 57% Republicans will control the Senate. On the House, however,
00:13:41.800it is 79% Democrats will control the House. So I just got to say, we don't know for sure,
00:13:51.780and I ain't going to place any bets, but the Democratic Party's in shambles. Honestly,
00:13:55.580guys tell me, what are they offering? What is their message? They don't have one. This is from
00:14:01.600the Atlantic. The Democratic base is angry. Is the party paying attention? This is from June 18th,
00:14:06.700just a few days ago. So correction, I think I said it was from today. It's from from five days ago.
00:14:11.620Perhaps I should have expected the meeting to devolve into chaos. It was predictable,
00:14:15.020especially if you subscribe to the essential maxim that any room containing several dozen
00:14:18.900women of a certain age and summer shandy on tap is bound to get a little rowdy. Well, that's just
00:14:23.840plumb sexist, ma'am. Unfortunately, well, most guys are going, yup. Unfortunately, the chair
00:14:29.800of the Ohio Democrats did not see it coming. Oh, my God. Kathleen Clyde started the state party
00:14:37.360leader was standing in a small stage at a bar in the Cleveland suburbs, having just finished
00:14:40.140delivering what was supposed to be a stirring call to action to a group of local Democratic
00:14:42.860activists. Her tone, however, has not conveyed any particular sense of passion about the upcoming
00:14:47.400midterms. The ladies in the audience did not seem impressed. And now, oh, no, it was time for
00:14:51.840questions. What are we going to do differently? One woman asked, pointing out the Democrats brand
00:14:57.360is terrible. Eventually, the microphone was abandoned. Another woman asked, why don't the
00:15:01.180Democrats have a good message? A third woman chimed in a little frantically. What can we do?
00:15:05.260I am sick of these affluent white female liberals. They don't care. They're like,
00:15:13.340what are we saying? That's all they care about is their cult, their cult, the Democratic cult.
00:15:18.200fit in, fall in line, convince people they're not offering anything. They know they're not
00:15:24.480offering anything. They're literally saying we're not offering anything and they expect you to vote
00:15:28.600for them. Otherwise they shun you. If that's the way politics goes, we are driving off a cliff
00:15:34.660because no one in the bus has the balls to grab the steering wheel and tell them to stop.
00:15:40.280I don't care about fitting in. I don't want to die. And that's what we get from the Democratic
00:15:45.820party. Clyde's eyes were wide. She hadn't expected friendly fire. We do have a good
00:15:51.680message. Affordability. What have Democrats ever done on affordability? I'm not sitting here. And
00:15:57.760this is what I love. This is what I love because I know the libs are going to be like, yeah,
00:16:00.260but the Republicans don't care about the Republicans. They suck, too. I'm talking
00:16:03.240about the Democratic Party is failing. They're making arguments. The Democrats are going to
00:16:07.360take the midterms. Perhaps they will. I don't see the path forward, but it may exist. Then in
00:16:12.3202028, they're offering up Kamala Harris. Don't come at me and complain about Republicans because
00:16:17.080right now, well, let me just, not even right now. I don't like the Republican party. They suck.
00:16:21.880They won't do anything either. But that's not the point. The point is when it comes to regular
00:16:25.980people, Donald Trump's going to be like, you know, we're going to bring jobs back. Democrats are like,
00:16:30.940things will be cheaper. Yes. But how? Trump will tell you, well, you know, we're going to do plan
00:16:36.240A, B and C. And then you can complain all you want and say, how does that make things cheaper?
00:16:41.080Trump's going to say things like, we're going to make what he has done.
00:16:44.300We're going to make NATO pay more for their military entanglements.
