00:00:30.000 But I've started to think the left flooded us with illegals to distract us from the real flood, which was legal immigration.
00:00:38.020 Good afternoon, everybody. I am Elad Eliyahu, the White House correspondent here at TimCast.
00:00:43.140 And today we have a very special episode because we are in Congress interviewing Republican congressional members.
00:00:48.120 And today we have a very special guest, Representative Randy Fine from Florida, freshman member from Florida.
00:00:52.920 Thank you so much for taking the time to speak to us.
00:00:55.560 We have a long range of topics that I wanted to get into, so I wanted to hop right into it.
00:00:59.180 And this is coming on the heels of news from last weekend about how two National Guardsmen were shot outside of the White House.
00:01:05.900 I wanted to get their names because one was already now killed.
00:01:10.420 That's Sarah Beckstrom from West Virginia.
00:01:12.520 Now, Andrew Wolfe, who is currently in critical condition.
00:01:15.860 As we understand, this was an Afghan refugee who our intelligence agencies collaborated with in the past to help us in Afghanistan.
00:01:23.320 We ended up giving him some refugee status to come over here a few years ago.
00:01:26.700 He didn't assimilate as well as he thought he could, and it led to this tragedy.
00:01:30.740 From 100 feet away, can I get your reaction to what went down and what should our response be?
00:01:36.300 Well, it's disgraceful.
00:01:37.300 Look, we let a Muslim terrorist into this country, and he engaged in Muslim terrorism.
00:01:42.420 I think we have to ask ourselves, how many Americans are we going to let die by Muslim terrorists before we do something about it?
00:01:48.360 This guy shouldn't have been here.
00:01:49.540 And the biggest problem we have with all this is people talk about, well, vetting, vetting, vetting.
00:01:54.200 The whole idea of vetting is a lie.
00:01:56.940 You can't know what's in someone's heart, and you can't know what's in someone's mind.
00:02:03.000 And so we should not be importing people from countries that hate America, saying, oh, they don't have a criminal record, therefore they're going to be fine.
00:02:13.660 That doesn't tell us what's in their soul.
00:02:16.260 And so we need to lock down our borders.
00:02:18.040 President Trump's done a great job on illegal immigration, but I've started to think the left flooded us with illegals to distract us from the real flood, which was legal immigration.
00:02:28.220 We need people in this country who love America, share our values, want to assimilate, and don't want free stuff.
00:02:34.200 And that is not our immigration system today.
00:02:36.240 We'll tap into more on the immigration conversation in a moment.
00:02:39.240 But I wanted to kind of follow up with you.
00:02:40.860 How would you respond to somebody who argues that we owe some sort of debt to those who collaborated with American troops and help us fight against the Taliban and other enemies of ours?
00:02:51.880 And if we don't help out these types of people, then in the future it will be more difficult to find people who are willing to collaborate with U.S. troops.
00:02:58.420 I think that's a fair point.
00:02:59.560 But maybe we could have sent them to a Muslim country that, I mean, maybe they needed to get out of Afghanistan, but there are 56 other Muslim countries around the world.
00:03:08.040 Maybe we could have asked Indonesia to take them on, the world's most populous Muslim country that's not known for massive amounts of Muslim terror.
00:03:14.380 So I think there is a legitimate thought.
00:03:18.020 If you helped us, maybe we have to take care of you.
00:03:20.120 Does that mean we have to bring them here?
00:03:22.000 The answer to that is no.
00:03:23.100 Absolutely.
00:03:23.820 I wanted to read you a part of a Truth Social post from the president following this attack.
00:03:28.380 He said, I will permanently pause migration from third world countries to allow the U.S. system to fully recover.
00:03:34.340 Only reverse migration can fully cure this situation.
00:03:37.580 Can I get your reaction to that?
00:03:38.660 And this kind of touches on the legal and illegal immigration topic that we were mentioning earlier.
00:03:43.780 Well, that Truth Social post may be the most consequential of his presidency to deal with the greatest challenge facing us in our country, which is immigration.
00:03:52.340 Let me be clear.
00:03:54.000 So we've talked about illegal.
00:03:55.220 We're talking about legal.
00:03:56.520 People who come to this country.
00:03:58.880 And look at New York.
00:04:00.200 Zohar Mandami got blown out in the election by natural-born New Yorkers, people who were born here, whether they were Republican, Democrat, black, white, Asian, Hispanic.
00:04:10.740 It was people who just arrived who elected him.
00:04:14.060 Now, if the people showing up in your country, they should be voting the same as the people who are already here.
00:04:19.720 Whether they're liberal or conservative, it should mimic that.
00:04:22.720 And if you're not, it means you're bringing in people who are changing the complex of your country.
00:04:26.400 That's not the purpose of immigration.
00:04:28.360 Our immigration system right now is filled with people who hate America, who do not share our values and want to change it, who do not seek to assimilate.
00:04:37.500 Look at Dearborn, Michigan.
00:04:39.140 And want free stuff.
00:04:41.000 That is a recipe for disaster.
00:04:43.460 And so we need immigrants, if we're going to have them at all, who love America, share our values, want to become part of the American melting pot, and don't want anything for free.
00:04:53.800 If you come here for freedom and opportunity, I'm willing to have that discussion if you say I love America.
00:04:59.500 If you come here for free stuff, stay at home.
00:05:01.740 Absolutely.
00:05:02.620 And the president also mentioned that he wanted to end or permanently pause.
00:05:06.800 It was all visas from Afghanistan.
00:05:08.940 I'm looking at a Wall Street Journal editorial that says,
00:05:11.600 Afghan refugees shouldn't be blamed for the violent act of one man.
00:05:15.020 Collective punishment of all Afghans in the U.S. won't make America safer, and it might embitter more people against the United States.
00:05:22.060 What's your response to that kind of sentiment?
00:05:23.900 You know, the same sort of people who write that say that it's better that 100 people go free from prison than one guilty person, than one innocent person be held in prison.
00:05:34.880 How many Americans are they willing to sacrifice on the altar of suicidal empathy?
00:05:41.560 My answer is none.
00:05:43.500 Absolutely.
00:05:44.220 Now I want to pivot to legal immigration.
00:05:46.660 I feel like this is one of those issues that's actually been one of the things dividing parts of the Republican Party, particularly H-1B visas.
00:05:54.160 We have roughly 700,000 active H-1B visas currently in our country.
00:05:59.140 About 70% of them are Indians, and it's predominantly disproportionately in the tech industry.
00:06:05.740 Some parts of the tech industry support the president.
00:06:08.800 I know Vivek Ramaswamy, Elon Musk have said positive things about H-1B visas in the past.
00:06:13.700 Other people in the MAGF movement have said this, undercuts American workers.
00:06:17.960 What's your reaction to all this H-1B stuff?
00:06:19.920 This is legal immigration that's still having unintended consequences for the American workers.
00:06:25.680 Well, here's what I think.
00:06:27.320 I think there's a lot of problems in the program.
00:06:29.680 If you have a specialized job, some sort of super specific programming job,
00:06:37.000 and there's not an American to do that job, and your company can't exist without it,
00:06:43.960 and that person's in India, I don't know that we should force your company to close.
00:06:47.460 But here's the issue.
00:06:48.600 You shouldn't import Indians to undercut American wages.
00:06:51.660 And that is what is happening.
00:06:53.440 And that is wrong, and that has to be stopped.
00:06:55.560 I understand that the H-1B visas are supposed to be for specialty work.
00:06:59.080 Correct.
00:06:59.300 But it seems as though more often than not, it seems to be people like,
00:07:04.140 are Americans incapable of filling most of these positions?
00:07:06.720 I think Americans could probably fill many of them.
00:07:09.460 I have many peers in New York in the tech industry who feel as though they are getting undercut.
00:07:13.480 They are.
00:07:14.400 I could pay you $200,000, or I can get an H-1B visa and pay the guy $70,000.
00:07:23.660 That's what a lot of is going on.
00:07:25.100 They're just trying to import cheap labor.
00:07:27.000 And that should be a criminal offense in this country.
00:07:30.140 And if you said if you do that, you're going to go to jail, that fraud would stop.
00:07:33.900 Absolutely.
00:07:34.400 And I wanted to ask you, on immigration and the future of the Republican or MAGA movement,
00:07:38.380 do you think we're heading towards like a net zero immigration type mindset?
00:07:42.800 I hope not.
00:07:43.260 I want a net negative.
00:07:45.800 Wow, okay.
00:07:47.020 No, no.
00:07:47.280 Pre-immigration.
00:07:47.840 Net zero is a failure.
00:07:48.960 There are tens of millions of people in this country that need to go home.
00:07:53.580 You know, the number one issue facing voters right now is affordability.
00:07:57.660 The number two that I hear about is immigration.
00:07:59.680 And the two are intricately linked.
00:08:01.780 When you have 30, 40, 50 million people in your country who shouldn't be here,
00:08:05.140 that drives up the cost of housing.
00:08:06.800 That drives up the cost of health care.
00:08:08.300 That drives up the cost of education.
00:08:09.960 That drives up the cost of insurance.
00:08:11.560 We need to get all these people out to both make America safe and to make America cheap.
00:08:15.860 It's a big deal, and I'm all in to port them all.
00:08:18.160 Absolutely.
00:08:18.520 I wanted to pivot to another topic that's been in the news recently
00:08:21.680 and the Trump administration's been busying themselves with,
00:08:24.520 and that's dealing with the drug cartels in Venezuela
00:08:29.220 and preventing the flow of drugs.
00:08:32.220 They have called the Maduro regime illegitimate and narco-terrorists,
00:08:36.360 and they've been bombing boats out of the water.
00:08:38.580 Can I get your reaction?
00:08:39.440 What do you think about the administration's actions so far in the waters around Venezuela?
00:08:44.000 Well, let me clarify one thing.
00:08:45.140 I believe it is generally a consensus from Democrats and Republicans that the Maduro regime is illegitimate.
00:08:51.020 I think that is not in dispute.
00:08:53.580 Some of the left doesn't like—they want to make drugs great again, apparently, and say,
00:08:57.820 you know, bring them all in.
00:08:59.220 Oh, gosh, God forbid we hurt a drug dealer.
00:09:01.520 Look, I support President Trump.
00:09:03.040 He's trying to keep America safe.
00:09:04.640 Bombs away.
00:09:05.140 Should Congress have any say in the military actions that they are pursuing on the—
00:09:10.020 Well, we always do.
00:09:11.160 We have oversight.
00:09:12.320 But here's the deal.
00:09:13.240 For me, I trust Donald J. Trump.
00:09:16.020 I trust him.
00:09:16.860 He's never let me down.
00:09:17.820 I trust his judgment.
00:09:18.940 So I don't feel a lot of need to pick apart while he's doing.
00:09:21.660 You know, Democrats want to pick apart everything he's doing.
00:09:23.780 We had basically an invalid as president for four years.
00:09:26.520 They didn't care at all.
00:09:28.140 Now we have a guy who works 20 hours a week, and they're obsessed with his MRI.
00:09:31.060 I mean, just the lack of bad faith on the part of the Democrats is repulsive, and I trust President Trump's judgment.
00:09:37.040 The president ran on no new wars, and he's definitely helped end a lot of conflicts around the country.
00:09:42.160 But I feel as though some MAGA supporters have some reluctance in going along with this.
00:09:47.300 What would you say to somebody who says, we don't need to do regime change in Venezuela.
00:09:51.500 We shouldn't be applying a ton of pressure.
00:09:53.400 We shouldn't be moving all of our military assets, you know, not all of them.
00:09:56.800 But as I understand, we have an aircraft carrier there among other assets.
00:10:00.380 I mean, President Trump's going to stop the flow of drugs.
00:10:02.700 That's not regime change, and that's not a war.
00:10:04.900 That's called law enforcement and stopping drugs coming in the United States.
00:10:08.060 He's not bombing people going for a pleasure cruise.
00:10:11.020 He's bombing people who are attempting to use boats to bring drugs to the United States.
00:10:15.280 I say keep it up.
00:10:16.380 Bombs away.
00:10:17.020 But ultimately, as I understand, they're only bomb.
00:10:19.360 This is like a drop in the bucket as far as drugs are concerned.
00:10:22.440 Like Venezuela, even if there was regime change or completely stop sending drugs to our country,
00:10:26.420 as I understand, 99% of our drugs are still flowing through Mexico and through other cartels.
00:10:30.540 So we just give up?
00:10:31.700 I mean, you know how you eat an elephant?
00:10:33.220 One bite at a time.
00:10:34.540 The fact that a good idea doesn't solve the entirety of a problem does not make it not a good idea.
00:10:41.020 Absolutely.
00:10:41.860 There's also been some reporting from the Washington Post in regard to our military actions around there.
00:10:46.780 The big thing has been that they shot a drug vote, and it was incapacitated, and then they did a follow-up strike.
00:10:55.040 Pete Hexth, Secretary of War Pete Hexth, has been getting a lot of flack for this.
00:10:58.980 Have you heard this stuff?
00:11:00.000 What is your reaction to it?
00:11:01.060 And do you believe that the Washington Post is fake news or this is credible reporting?
00:11:05.200 I think the administration said that was false.
00:11:07.620 And like I said, I trust President Trump's judgment.
00:11:10.240 Absolutely.
00:11:10.640 If there were to be a conflict that did break out in Venezuela, do you think the Americans should accept any refugees coming out of Venezuela?
00:11:19.680 No.
00:11:20.040 I think we need to get out of the refugee business because refugees have turned into a scam.
00:11:25.760 TPS has turned into a scam.
00:11:27.160 TPS is temporary protective status.
00:11:29.880 Democrats believe once you're here as a refugee temporarily, you can never leave.
00:11:33.980 So, no, I think America needs to get out of the asylum business.
00:11:37.320 Absolutely.
00:11:37.600 And just to follow up on the strikes, the reason I really wanted to focus on that a little bit more was because there are many Democrats who are saying that if the reporting from the Washington Post is true, they're accusing the Secretary of War of potentially committing war crimes.
00:11:50.800 And I believe it was Admiral Bradley, who Pete Hexth named, is doing it.
00:11:55.180 So there's the senator from Connecticut, Van Hollen, who said this could potentially be viewed as war crimes.
00:12:01.700 Same with Mark Kelly from Arizona.
00:12:03.180 What is your thoughts on these Democrats pushing that line?
00:12:07.300 And also, I believe it was Mark Kelly who recently said that if you're being told that you should refuse illegal orders.
00:12:12.940 These people are idiots.
00:12:14.260 I mean, there's no other way to put it.
00:12:15.480 Look, in the case of Mark Kelly, he engaged in sedition.
00:12:18.000 I mean, he should be arrested for what he did.
00:12:19.960 So, no, I don't pay any attention.
00:12:22.020 Look, if Donald Trump cured cancer, they would talk about how terrible it is for all the businesses that make money off of cancer.
00:12:28.420 These people simply hate America, they hate Donald Trump, and they're intent on our destruction, and we're here to fight them.
00:12:33.660 Absolutely.
00:12:34.760 One last topic that I wanted to hit on is that, I don't know if it's everybody, but definitely people on the right feel as though it's open season on them.
00:12:43.780 We're coming off the heels of Charlie Kirk being murdered in cold blood.
00:12:47.280 And then there's these other two National Guardsmen.
00:12:49.340 It's right-wing coded.
00:12:50.540 It seems as though law enforcement people are willing to say that Iser Gestapo, in the case of Tim Walz, is the common line among the Democrats.
00:12:57.420 I just wanted to get, what's your reaction to those who feel as though it is open season on those on the right, and particularly on Charlie Kirk's passing recently?
00:13:06.280 Can I get your reaction to that stuff?
00:13:07.860 They're right.
00:13:08.940 I mean, it is.
00:13:09.660 Look, there are three people who have been arrested for making threats against me.
00:13:13.080 There's a meaningful percentage of the left who believes that violence is acceptable.
00:13:17.800 I've filed all kinds of bills on this.
00:13:19.380 I've filed a bill that will basically throw you in jail for the rest of your life if you get in the way of ICE.
00:13:23.800 I mean, keep in mind, what's ICE trying to do?
00:13:25.660 They're trying to deport foreign invaders, and these people want to stop it.
00:13:29.980 We have—I wish I could tell you I was incredibly optimistic and bullish on the future of our country.
00:13:35.720 I am not, because a meaningful percentage of the country hates it and wants to destroy it and believes in using any means necessary to do it.
00:13:42.720 So those people who are concerned have every right to be, and, of course, that's why we have a Second Amendment.
00:13:47.240 Absolutely. I also think it's worth mentioning that some of the loudest voices on the right suspect that there is some foul play when it comes to the killing of Charlie Kirk.
00:13:55.600 I don't know if you've seen this, but what is your reaction to some of these voices?
00:13:59.100 I'm reading a tweet from Candace Owens from earlier this morning that says,
00:14:02.880 I can now say with full confidence that I believe Charlie Kirk was betrayed by the leadership of Turning Point USA and some of the very people who eulogized him on stage.
00:14:11.140 She's a delusional idiot. I don't really pay attention to what she has to say.
00:14:15.060 What do you—do you think there's a sense of these conspiracies?
00:14:18.520 Well, yeah, look, people—
00:14:19.260 Like, on the right that—
00:14:20.660 People—it's not on the right. Conspiracy theories are everywhere.
00:14:23.500 I think people try to telegraph things onto things that aren't the case.
00:14:27.460 I mean, what happened to Charlie, sort of—I mean, it's a horrible story, but someone who was radicalized into transgender stuff went nuts and shot him.
00:14:36.480 I mean, the story in and of itself is terrible enough.
00:14:39.220 I don't think we have to make up wacko conspiracy theories in order to do it.
00:14:43.660 But I think it is justified that people feel concerned about what happened to Charlie Kirk. It was terrible.
00:14:49.420 Absolutely. And just to wrap it up,
00:14:50.980 a few of the themes that we mentioned are things that I believe are dividing the Republican Party.
00:14:54.620 So the Charlie Kirk stuff, I feel as though, is dividing the Republican Party.
00:14:58.580 H-1B visas and that, I believe, is dividing the party in parts.
00:15:03.000 Israel has been a very inflammatory issue.
00:15:05.720 How do you think the right wing in MAGA can work to overcome the divisions currently within the coalition?
00:15:10.800 Well, we have to stop listening to the foreign influence-funded division.
00:15:17.340 You know, there was a big thing a couple weeks ago when Elon released
00:15:19.800 released where X-accounts were coming from.
00:15:22.160 And we learned that all of these groups that were causing problems in MAGA,
00:15:26.400 a huge number of them weren't American.
00:15:28.080 We've seen this on a lot of the anti-Semitism stuff.
00:15:30.640 They're from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
00:15:32.820 Most of this division is not organic.
00:15:35.240 It is fueled by paid actors, whether it's Qatar or it's, frankly, China
00:15:39.180 that just wants to divide us from within.
