Diddy is on trial in Los Angeles federal court on a RICO charge and two sex trafficking charges related to a woman named Cassie Ventura, who claims she was drugged and sexually assaulted by Diddy while in his care.
00:00:00.000But we're going to switch gears entirely, and we're going to talk to our guest, GoodLogic, here, who has been reporting from the Diddy trial.
00:00:28.200So I watched some of your video yesterday, and I admit that I have been following along at this Diddy trial just to see what kind of crazy lifestyle choices have been made by our top celebrities.
00:00:40.780Yesterday I saw a story that apparently he—apparently Diddy had Obama-shaped ecstasy pills.
00:00:48.420Well, yesterday was kind of a bombshell in the sense that Dr. Dawn Hughes, she is—she's the psychologist who testified.
00:00:57.960On behalf of Amber Heard in the Dept v. Heard trial, she took the stand to give a lecture to the jury about the—what is—what should be expected from someone who's been a long-time sufferer of domestic violence.
00:01:13.800And specifically talking about, you know, how they end up coping with it, with what issue—who they end up disclosing it to, and why they stay with them, as well as how it affects their memory.
00:01:25.900Those are the four areas that she's really focused on.
00:01:45.320So for those of your viewers who may not be following up with exactly what this trial is about and the charges here,
00:01:52.060so there's a RICO charge and two sex trafficking charges.
00:01:56.220And one of those sex trafficking charges relates to a model singer named Cassie Ventura.
00:02:02.300The state explains, and Cassie's testified—she spent four days on the stand saying how she started her relationship with Diddy after she was already a model and had one hit song,
00:02:17.280And quickly thereafter—that was in 2007—and quickly thereafter, they developed a personal relationship, and she fell very hard for Diddy.
00:02:26.560Diddy seemed to work very hard to get her attention.
00:02:28.740And near the end of 2007, they started dating an on-and-off relationship for 11 years, which ends in 2018.
00:02:39.660And then a year into it, or thereabouts, he introduces her to what he would call freak-offs.
00:11:41.600He's like, so we go to this—I come to the Soho house, which is where we had this meeting.
00:11:45.440And when we're there at the Soho house, I walk in, and Diddy's standing there, and there's this wall of windows overlooking Beverly Hills.
00:11:53.520And he's looking out the windows with his back to me, and his hands clasped behind his back like he's a super—he's like a Marvel supervillain.
00:12:14.320He's like, and, you know, we were homies, and you knew she was my girl.
00:12:17.700And we agreed to just put it in the past, and Cassie showed up, and he was very—he was very confused and disappointed that she was—he was going—that he saw that Cassie just went right back to him.
00:12:27.820And because he spent the year with her, and that he said, you know, I was—I was very—I was very hurt.
00:12:33.440And he ended up in being to defense, to their credit, he made it to defense that Cassie played him and Diddy, that Cassie was playing both of them,
00:12:40.900and that he—he assumed that she would never go back to him, and that she was playing both of them.
00:12:46.740So we've got a real soap opera going on here, the Diddy trial.
00:13:17.940I do a recap of what happened that morning, the afternoon, and at night, I go through a much more detailed breakdown as to what we saw that day.
