00:00:58.380 Wasn't there like a Walgreens in Chicago where there's no items anymore?
00:01:01.980 It's just a tablet?
00:01:03.880 Yeah, deodorants locked up.
00:01:05.400 You know, like, why is deodorant locked up?
00:01:07.540 Because, like, it's big odorant.
00:01:10.080 You know, like, and, you know, it really, it's one of those things where you get used to it where you're like,
00:01:14.320 hey, let me push the button to order my deodorant and wait for the person to come over and give me my deodorant.
00:01:19.040 Like, can you give, can you give me the one with the 24-hour strength?
00:01:22.040 Because I'm really sweaty.
00:01:22.940 Like, that's not something you want to do with a person, you know?
00:01:25.300 Yeah.
00:01:26.000 But that's become the norm.
00:01:27.240 If you need, if you need formula, you got to wait for somebody to come and get it for you.
00:01:31.560 Here's a story from the New York Times.
00:01:34.160 Trump downplays Post threatening Chicago, saying he wants to clean up city.
00:01:39.720 The president had said on social media that Chicago was about to find out why it's called the Department of War,
00:01:44.640 drawing a fierce rebuke from Democrats.
00:01:46.400 Now, I'll tell you what I find funny in this.
00:01:48.840 All the liberals, not from Chicago, telling me from the South Side that I'm wrong, that my opinions are wrong.
00:01:57.520 I'm like, but you don't live there.
00:01:58.700 You don't live there.
00:01:59.740 Okay.
00:02:00.160 Megyn Kelly's got a video.
00:02:01.220 She did a show.
00:02:01.740 She said Trump can't just send in the National Guard to enforce the law.
00:02:04.340 That's clearly not legal.
00:02:05.820 Gavin Newsom says, aha, the base is splintering.
00:02:07.780 No, she's not wrong.
00:02:09.280 I'm not asking Trump go and send National Guard to enforce the law.
00:02:11.940 I'm saying the presence is welcome.
00:02:14.220 They'll clean up trash.
00:02:15.160 They'll make everything nicer and it stops the crime.
00:02:17.980 In fact, in the black community, often we saw this from Gallup polling across the country.
00:02:22.920 They are asking for more police presence to help deal with the crime.
00:02:26.860 So I'm going to say this to all those liberals.
00:02:28.260 I say, I would love it in my neighborhood if we saw this.
00:02:34.740 And these people from New York, from the northern suburbs, from the wealthier areas, they say, nah, it's ridiculous.
00:02:43.840 So here's what we're going to do.
00:02:45.040 We've got a woman running for office.
00:02:48.620 We're going to bring her in.
00:02:49.400 And she's going to tell us about what's going on and what she thinks and what she thinks needs to happen.
00:02:57.460 All right, let's get it set up, load it up.
00:03:01.540 Takes a quick second.
00:03:03.000 Christian, can you hear me?
00:03:04.340 Yes, I can hear you.
00:03:05.100 Thanks for joining me.
00:03:06.760 Do you want to just introduce yourself real quickly to everybody?
00:03:09.540 Yes, for sure.
00:03:10.300 So thank you again for having me on the show.
00:03:12.380 My name is Christian Maxwell, and I'm currently a candidate for Congress in Illinois, a Republican candidate.
00:03:17.580 So not the most popular thing to be in this state.
00:03:22.400 But I'm Illinois born and raised.
00:03:24.700 And then I came to Chicago to pursue school, and I ended up finding my husband here and marrying him.
00:03:30.840 And that's how I ended up being a resident of this amazing city.
00:03:33.360 So right now, I'm just in the middle of the fight that a lot of people are in, which is figuring out how to make Chicago a livable place once again.
00:03:40.380 So that's the thing I'm excited to talk about with you today.
00:03:43.420 Yeah, you're running in Congressional District No. 1.
00:03:45.660 That was Bobby Rush's district?
00:03:47.500 Yes.
00:03:47.980 And then now, most people don't even know, but it's not Bobby Rush anymore.
00:03:50.660 It's Jonathan Jackson, so Jesse Jackson's son.
00:03:53.180 But he flies so low under the radar with his effort that people literally don't even know this man exists.
00:03:59.820 All right.
00:04:00.100 Very easy opening question.
00:04:02.560 Should Trump send in the National Guard?
00:04:04.740 Yes, I do believe Trump should send in the National Guard.
00:04:07.620 And there's a few key reasons for this.
00:04:09.760 So when we think about the National Guard, the entire purpose of the National Guard is to do in-country work.
00:04:15.280 The whole concept of people kind of looking at it like a SEAL team is being deployed on U.S. soil to police and kind of like detain American citizens.
00:04:27.300 That's just not what the National Guard is.
00:04:29.340 And it's really sad to see them looked at the way they're being looked at right now, like an enemy force that's going to be against the American citizens.
00:04:36.960 Their entire purpose is to provide support to states while also being able to access federal funding so states don't have to bear the burden of needing those extra resources.
00:04:48.100 So what we see in a lot of other states right now is that a lot of people keep bringing up like, oh, red states, he needs to send them to red states first.
00:04:53.860 Well, the issue is that a lot of red states are already having multiple federal task force or federal integrated task force where they're working with the federal government and leveraging those resources.
00:05:04.640 And they have an open door policy.
00:05:06.700 They're not hiding their ICE, their, you know, immigration data from the federal government.
00:05:11.740 They're not lying about who's being released from Cook County jail.
00:05:15.620 They're not doing that.
00:05:16.760 They're saying, hey, this person, we just released this person who's not actually a citizen.
00:05:20.820 They're yours now.
00:05:21.840 And then ICE is able to go do what they need to do.
00:05:24.580 But in Illinois, what we see is that our governor has us literally on lockdown pretty much.
00:05:29.260 It's like a wall around Illinois.
00:05:31.460 And he does not want any federal intervention unless it's a check.
00:05:35.440 So, yes, we do need the National Guard.
00:05:37.640 Democrats have run Chicago for, what, 100 years?
00:05:40.140 Oh, gosh, they've had a stronghold forever.
00:05:42.100 In this district alone, the district I'm running for, I would be breaking a century, a century of democratic rule.
00:05:49.000 It would literally be crazy.
00:05:50.720 I, so I don't know if you're familiar, but I won't shut up about it.
00:05:55.480 I grew up in Chicago.
00:05:56.000 I grew up on the south side in the Garfield Ridge.
00:05:58.120 I love that.
00:05:59.140 Yeah.
00:05:59.780 So I've told the stories over and over again about my neighborhood.
00:06:03.940 There's an area that used to be called the Leclerc.
00:06:06.280 It's still called the Leclerc courts.
00:06:07.720 But they bulldozed it.
00:06:09.760 And I actually had a debate on Friday with a liberal who was from New York.
00:06:14.300 Mm-hmm.
00:06:15.200 And the reason why I bring this up, after 100 years of Democrat supermajority, congressionally, you know, at the federal level, at the state level.
00:06:23.300 Everything.
00:06:24.460 The crime hasn't stopped.
00:06:25.980 No.
00:06:26.220 The gangs still control a lot of these areas.
00:06:29.340 Mm-hmm.
00:06:29.520 The police have been unable to get a handle on this.
00:06:32.980 Mm-hmm.
00:06:33.220 And where I grew up, I made this joke to one of the shows the day before.
00:06:39.580 I was like, oh, I mean, Chicago's not that bad.
00:06:42.780 I mean, I was only shot at, like, two or three times as a kid.
00:06:47.340 My friend only saw one corpse dragged through an alley.
00:06:50.320 I only got—we only got mugged by gangbangers, you know, 15 times.
00:06:54.200 Like, the joke is, that shouldn't be happening.
00:06:56.880 So the question I have for you, especially with you running for office, is, you know, when I ask, like, should the National Guard come in, it's clearly because the policies aren't working.
00:07:05.880 Why do you think, after a century, they have not been able to get a handle on this crime?
00:07:10.940 One second.
00:07:11.760 And what should they be doing?
00:07:13.420 So what I think they should be doing—so I think as far as the policies, I do believe that the one issue I see right now with a lot of liberals is that they really do want to just do a one-size-fits-all approach to this.
00:07:25.040 So they're like, you know what?
00:07:25.920 We just want to talk to these people.
00:07:27.660 We want to talk to them, and we want to give them supplies.
00:07:30.180 And that—the only reason they're doing criminal things is because they don't have enough stuff.
00:07:36.060 I don't know, that sounds bad.
00:07:38.200 But here's the thing.
00:07:39.220 There really is a group of people who it's not about how much stuff they have.
00:07:43.600 They are just inherently bad people.
00:07:46.220 And I know that that's something that people don't want to talk about for some reason.
00:07:49.120 But there really are people who are beyond the reach of a dialogue, whether it's a mental health situation or just a, you know, just being so inundated with criminality that now it really is just the only way you look at life.
00:08:01.320 There are some people who are just inherently bad, whether they're rapers, murderers, drug dealers, you know, like whatever the situation is, there is no talking to them.
00:08:11.060 They're bad.
00:08:11.780 So no amount of affordable housing, no amount of food stamps, no truck parked in their neighborhood with vegetables and cucumbers is going to change how they approach life.
00:08:23.180 Yeah, you can do that for kids.
00:08:24.620 Please do that for kids.
00:08:25.540 Please do that for women in these neighborhoods.
00:08:27.800 Please do that for people who want to change.
00:08:29.820 But for the people who are not interested in changing, no, we don't want to give them more resources.
00:08:35.180 Here's what it looks like, though.
00:08:36.380 When you do open up resources to people who just have a criminal nature, what they end up doing is you'll open up more senior living facilities and then you will see their grandsons, these older women, their grandsons will infiltrate the senior living facility and be in their apartment unit and they can't even get them out.
00:08:54.380 Wow.
00:08:55.060 You know, like there's a lot of situations like that or women will have Section 8 and then they'll have a boyfriend who's living there, who's dealing drugs out of a Section 8 unit.
00:09:04.460 And it's like, yeah, this is the housing that she should have because she has children.
00:09:08.720 But her boyfriend is literally not doing a single thing to provide for that household and is not incentivized to do so because his biggest cost is already covered.
00:09:18.060 And if you have Section 8, you have food stamps too.
00:09:20.540 What are you working for?
00:09:21.760 It's so, oh yeah.
00:09:22.760 I mean, that's another huge issue in the city, but it's so entrenched.
00:09:25.380 And so, you know, for me, when I was talking to my friends from the South, I mean, Southwest, I don't want to act like it's, you know, 45th or something, but we're by Midway Airport, LeClaire Courts area.
00:09:38.240 And I said, which would you prefer, the muggings at our local park or a handful of National Guard picking up trash and walking around the park?
00:09:47.700 Everybody laughs because they're like, no one fears National Guard.
00:09:51.180 They're not going to arrest you.
00:09:52.120 So in D.C., they're cleaning up garbage, but that presence.
00:09:55.460 So you talk about, you know, putting a vegetable cart in this neighborhood is not going to stop crime.
00:09:59.700 It's certainly not.
00:10:00.960 But there is a pressure created by having National Guard present, not enforcing, just being there.
00:10:07.300 Yes.
00:10:07.640 And it's fascinating that it is the well-to-do liberals in the wealthier neighborhoods telling me, my friends, and my family, the protection we're asking for is illegal, illegitimate.
00:10:17.560 We don't deserve it.
00:10:18.740 Yes.
00:10:19.700 Yeah.
00:10:19.900 And I think that for them, because me and my husband are foodies, so we drive all over the city.
00:10:25.240 Like, we will drive 30 minutes for donuts.
00:10:27.320 Like, that's how intense, how heavy we are into food.
00:10:30.720 So I drive to all neighborhoods.
00:10:32.680 Like, I'll go anywhere, you know, for cool food.
00:10:34.800 And what I end up seeing a lot on these Saturday mornings is literally what I described on that video.
00:10:39.140 And that morning I made the video, I was literally watching people do exactly what I described.
00:10:44.580 And when I came back to my area, I don't see people doing what I described.
00:10:49.300 They're not outside of their home as much as people in these other neighborhoods.
00:10:53.940 I mean, kids literally in, you know, some of these really nicer areas, their kids are still in their PJs.
00:10:58.140 Like, you literally got up and just, you just hit the door immediately to go live your life in your community.
00:11:03.660 You know why you're also doing that?
00:11:04.920 Because you have more businesses than we have.
00:11:07.640 Over here on the South Side, we don't have as many businesses as they have.
00:11:12.120 Most of the South Side is underdeveloped.
00:11:14.380 You don't have as many restaurants to choose from.
00:11:16.100 You don't have as many.
00:11:17.140 I mean, we have, in my community, it's a lot of people who live here in the Hyde Park, Woodline area.
00:11:21.580 We have a micro target.
00:11:23.320 We don't even have a full target.
00:11:25.400 I went in there to buy an iPad and they had to go get it from like the dungeon of the back of the store because it's so locked down.
00:11:32.740 Yeah, well, now it's like, wasn't there like a Walgreens in Chicago where there's no items anymore?
00:11:38.900 It's just like, it's a tablet.
00:11:40.760 Yeah, deodorants locked up.
00:11:42.300 You know, like, why is deodorant locked up?
00:11:44.420 Because, like, it's deodorant, you know, like, and, you know, it really, it's one of those things where you get used to it where you're like, hey, let me push the button to order my deodorant and wait for the person to come over and give me my deodorant.
00:11:55.960 Like, can you give, can you give me the one with the 24-hour strength because I'm really sweaty?
00:11:59.760 Like, that's not something you want to do with a person, you know?
00:12:02.200 Yeah.
00:12:02.740 But that's become the norm.
00:12:04.200 If you need formula, you got to wait for somebody to come and get it for you.
00:12:08.420 And I think that a lot of people don't realize that's how a lot of the city is living.
00:12:12.420 They're living like they are criminals and they're not the criminals.
00:12:15.300 So when I advocate for something like the National Guard, here's also why.
00:12:19.160 I think a lot of Chicagoans don't realize that CPD is currently down about 5,000 officers.
00:12:26.380 Bare minimum, they're down 3,000.
00:12:28.020 So if you have the National Guard here as a support and as a deterrent, that frees up more of the officers that we barely have.
00:12:34.520 I think we only have about 11,000 or 13,000.
00:12:37.400 It frees up some of those officers who may be stationed downtown to kind of go into some different districts because a lot of these districts are not covered the way that people would think that they are covered.
00:12:47.480 I actually know for a fact that there have been multiple times where the mayor has decided to pull Southside officers to go downtown to stand on corners to keep downtown safe.
00:12:58.840 Wow.
00:12:59.120 So while a lot of Black people are saying, you know, they're just going to be downtown, well, great.
00:13:03.940 Let somebody else think about downtown so we can be thought of.
00:13:07.160 Because when I say that the Southside is not a priority, we're not a priority.
00:13:11.420 Do you find that the Black community in Chicago, these neighborhoods, would prefer a greater police presence?
00:13:17.700 I think that's why a lot of people are really upset.
00:13:19.820 The comment I keep seeing is they're not going to come to the Southside.
00:13:23.040 And initially I was like, guys, why are you so hung up on that?
00:13:25.440 But then I really thought about it and I'm like, this is almost like a reverse cry for help.
00:13:29.580 People are basically saying, like, they're just going to not think about us again.
00:13:33.540 That's what I think that people are saying when they keep commenting over and over that the National Guard isn't going to come to the Southside.
00:13:40.780 It's because people are used to calling 911 and nobody comes.
00:13:44.580 And even if they do come, the response time for CPD is pretty low.
00:13:48.160 Again, it's not their fault.
00:13:49.320 I don't blame the officers.
00:13:50.740 I blame the mayor for not doing.
00:13:52.720 One, his promise when he ran was that he was going to hire 200 more detectives.
00:13:56.720 For one, you can hire more detectives to close cases, but also hire the additional officers that we need for the city.
00:14:03.280 He hasn't hired the 200 new detectives.
00:14:05.600 He hasn't hit that goal.
00:14:07.440 And if anything, I think CPD has gotten smaller under his leadership.
00:14:10.460 I wonder if that's like a common Chicago thing that you call 911, nobody shows up.
00:14:15.480 Yeah, I watched a burglary next door.
00:14:17.680 So I actually live in a really interesting area.
00:14:19.200 It's like being, I don't want to call it gentrified, but they're knocking down old stuff and putting up million dollar homes.
00:14:24.420 And I literally watched the million dollar home next door to me be burglarized.
00:14:28.120 Like somebody came up on a scooter and started bashing this glass door, patio door on a million dollar home.
00:14:35.440 And before the million dollar home was even built, three guys came up with chainsaws and took their time and robbed the construction containers.
00:14:42.800 I called CPD and nobody ever came.
00:14:44.360 Yeah, and there's always some excuse of priority or something like that.
00:14:50.020 But what are, I left when I was 23, so I come back periodically for the holidays.
00:14:56.360 What's it like with the gun laws now?
00:14:58.460 I mean, can you defend yourself?
00:14:59.840 So I think that if you are willing to study the laws pretty much very often, you need to know what you can and cannot do here because there's a lot of rules on law abiding citizens.
00:15:10.940 There's more rules for us than obviously it is for criminals.
00:15:14.560 So if you don't understand what is considered your castle, like you can't just, your car is not an extension of your castle here in Chicago.
00:15:21.840 So if your car is being burglarized, like there's not much you can do.
00:15:26.460 You have to be in, and you should always have to be in imminent harm in order to use a weapon.
00:15:31.860 I definitely feel that.
00:15:33.520 But the way that you can really get caught up and end up in jail as a law abiding citizen, if you don't know all of the rules and regulations for how to use your weapon here, you can get in a lot of trouble.
00:15:44.320 And to be honest, they will probably throw the book at you even more than they would actual criminal.
00:15:47.700 So if you, I would say anybody in Illinois, you should have your FOID, even though it's really ridiculous that you have to have one, but you should have your FOID.
00:15:55.820 And then you need to go and get your concealed carry because it's your job to self-rescue.
00:16:00.080 In a state like Illinois, they cannot rescue you.
00:16:03.260 You have to self-rescue.
00:16:04.740 It takes an officer, even in a good area, it takes officers to like 15 minutes to get to you in a good area.
00:16:10.540 What are you going to do for 15 minutes if you don't have a weapon and you don't know how to use it?
00:16:15.480 You're going to die.
00:16:16.280 So, or be raped or whatever.
00:16:19.440 For women who, I see a lot of women walking around.
00:16:21.160 I'm like, I really hope that you have something in that little pouch besides lip gloss because, you know, it's a lot more going on here than Chicago is going to tell you because they're not transparent about how much crime is happening in this city because they want you to feel safe.
00:16:34.420 It's not safe.
00:16:35.460 Yep.
00:16:35.880 And I think that DC was accused of doing this too, flubbing the numbers to make it seem like everything's safe.
00:16:40.560 We want to get those tourists in here.
00:16:42.300 And then Chicago's pretty brutal.
00:16:44.740 So, it's pretty brutal.
00:16:45.820 It's really brutal.
00:16:46.960 Yeah.
00:16:47.200 People don't realize I brought, I did a video on TikTok and I was talking about, I'm like, guys, I don't know if you know, but there's a really extensive cartel presence in Illinois.
00:16:56.040 And some people were like, oh, man, don't talk about it.
00:16:58.180 Don't talk about it.
00:16:58.760 I'm like.

00:18:34.180 Come join the party.
00:18:34.900 But no, let's talk about it.
00:18:36.720 Because when you have a cartel presence, that means you have a trafficking presence.
00:18:40.680 And if you're, you know, a young woman, like, you're a commodity.
00:18:45.580 You know, like, you have to be aware of your surroundings in a way that's a lot higher here.
00:18:50.240 And I think that a lot of people just think of gang violence and it's like, oh, it's just some Black guys on the South Side.
00:18:54.940 Like, no, there's a lot of different types of crime in Chicago.
00:18:58.280 This is why you see, you know, there was just recently, it was a Chinese person who was, I think they were, they, the DA got them because they were trying to change over $65 million from a transaction for fentanyl.
00:19:13.660 And then there was just recently a major cartel leader from the Sinaloa cartel, I believe, apprehended here or charged here.
00:19:22.140 I'm like, that's like, that's like Mexico.
00:19:25.600 I'm like, this is not Chicago.
00:19:27.560 It's so beautiful.
00:19:28.480 It's so beautiful.
00:19:29.340 But do not let that fool you.
00:19:31.380 There is a real criminal element here that goes so much deeper than just Black guys on the South Side where people are like, they shouldn't be over-policed.
00:19:38.700 I could care less about the crime that people think this is about.
00:19:42.820 There is something that the government knows that we're not 100% aware of that I for sure want them to come and handle.
00:19:49.240 Please come and handle that.
00:19:50.680 What I just never understood, and it's one of the reasons why I decided to leave the city, is how after 100 years, they've not solved anything.
00:19:58.180 I mean, we go back 100 years, we're talking about Al Capone, and you still have violent crime, and the gangs have gotten worse.
00:20:07.460 Yes.
00:20:08.220 But why do people keep voting for the same thing and for the same people?
00:20:12.160 It's just not getting solved.
00:20:13.380 So that's something that I've been looking into as well.
00:20:16.580 There are less and less people voting in these elections.
00:20:19.240 Even though there is still a Democratic stronghold, they have just broken the wheel of so many conservative or even moderate Democrat voters to the point where they just don't show up.
00:20:28.180 If you even look at for some of the surrounding suburbs where there's mayoral elections, you'll have a mayor win with like 1,400 votes.
00:20:35.060 Wow.
00:20:35.200 That's like an event.
00:20:37.180 You know, that's not like a town's worth of people.
00:20:39.820 So even with the mayor, Mayor Johnson, I mean, he didn't get that many votes.
00:20:43.400 It was like less than like 300,000.
00:20:45.200 And I think it was honestly in the hundreds of thousands.
00:20:47.820 Chicago's a really big city.
00:20:49.520 So it's like there wasn't some overwhelming majority of people who said that Brandon Johnson was going to be a great mayor.
00:20:54.840 It was a small group of people who cared enough to go out and vote.
00:20:58.760 And they didn't come back for the runoff, which is why Paul Vallis ended up losing.
00:21:03.960 Paul Vallis would have been the mayor.
00:21:05.300 Now, honestly, I know quite a few black people who voted for Paul Vallis and for sure wanted him over Brandon Johnson because nobody in their right mind wanted Brandon Johnson.
00:21:13.920 If you ask any black person who's like, I don't want to call him boomer age, but even like my age and up, they know for a fact that his whole, the youth just needs to kumbaya with me and they're going to come over to the law abiding side.
00:21:26.540 Everybody knows that's not a thing.
00:21:27.960 It's not a thing, which is why you see youth taking over downtown now.
00:21:32.020 And you see, if you check a lot of the schools around here, they literally have 50% absentee rates.
00:21:38.060 A lot of CPS schools can't even get kids to come to school.
00:21:41.000 And he's a CPS product.
00:21:42.420 Like he's actually a CPS teacher and the CTU president is literally like his puppeteer.
00:21:48.080 She has his little puppet strings.
00:21:50.100 He's not, he's not, none of the stuff that Brandon Johnson is doing is because he's sitting there plotting on Chicago.
00:21:55.200 He is a puppet of the highest order and Stacey Davis Gates, whatever her name is, she honestly needs to go on like a watch list.
00:22:03.880 Like that lady is behind so much of the destruction of our children in the city.
00:22:08.980 I honestly would love to see CTU get dismantled.
00:22:12.820 I would love to see them be dismantled.
00:22:14.560 Because they're a big reason why the city is dysfunctional.
00:22:17.000 I was looking up a congressional district one in Illinois.
00:22:20.200 You actually have a decently active congressional district.
00:22:23.220 Jonathan Jackson won with 208,000 votes to Marcus Lewis's 108,000.
00:22:28.380 That's like near 50% turnout, like 40 some odd percent.
00:22:32.680 I pulled up AOCs because she's so famous.
00:22:34.740 It's a great example.
00:22:35.980 She won with 132,000 to 59,000.
00:22:40.240 Substantially less turnout in her district.
00:22:42.840 It's fascinating to see that in CD1, the Republican turnout rivals AOC in her own district.
00:22:50.960 Do you think you're going to be able to, obviously you're going to say yes,
00:22:53.540 but you're going to be able to rally the people of your district and vote for some change?
00:22:57.700 So when I look at this whole fight, for one thing, I'm taking it one day at a time.
00:23:01.800 And I don't do a lot of boasting at all in this because I've never run for politics or done anything in politics.
00:23:06.980 But what I'm looking at is that people have never been more fed up than they are right now.
00:23:12.400 And with Trump in office, they have just a thread of hope.
00:23:15.680 And I honestly do believe that if there was ever a time to do it, it's now.
00:23:22.960 Jonathan Jackson, most, if you go up to, I'm actually going to probably do it pretty soon.
00:23:26.820 I'm going to just walk around the Hyde Park area and I'm going to ask random Black people,
00:23:30.420 do you know who Jonathan Jackson is?
00:23:32.120 They don't know him.
00:23:33.660 They don't know him.
00:23:34.860 He's slapping up billboards over literally destroyed areas all throughout the Black communities,
00:23:40.680 just slapping his face up there talking about people over politics while Black businesses close
00:23:45.620 all over the district.
00:23:47.700 Black women are unemployed.
00:23:49.860 It's like the people that he talks about all the time, they're not doing better with him
00:23:53.860 as a representative.
00:23:55.020 I looked at all of the legislation that he's done as a congressman.
00:24:00.820 None of it is about Illinois.
00:24:02.540 And to be honest, none of it is about Black people.
00:24:04.980 So the very people who elect him, I really wonder if they're checking his work because he's
00:24:09.640 on Capitol Hill with, I mean, when you pay for a representative, Illinois is investing
00:24:15.860 about $3 to $4 million a year into Jonathan Jackson and his suite of team members who aren't
00:24:21.640 doing anything.
00:24:22.660 He's produced less than, I think, 15 pieces of legislation.
00:24:26.140 He's been a representative since 2023.
00:24:28.800 How do you do less than 15 pieces of legislation in several years in a district that has this
00:24:35.920 much need?
00:24:37.140 And you don't really hear a lot about him at the national level.
00:24:40.360 No, he doesn't because he really is a wallflower.
00:24:43.320 A lot of people usually call him a wallflower.
00:24:45.640 He's the, I think the only reason to be honest that he ended up running is because his brother
00:24:49.020 got locked up.
00:24:50.000 So his brother, Jesse Jackson Jr., who was probably the original kid who was supposed
00:24:54.800 to, you know, be his daddy's like, you know, main kiddo.
00:24:58.020 But he embezzled about $800,000 of his own campaign funds.
00:25:02.060 So he had to get locked up for a little bit.
00:25:03.600 He just got back out and put his little intellectual glasses back on and he thinks he's going to run
00:25:08.400 in District 2.
00:25:10.120 That should not be a thing.
00:25:11.640 You shouldn't get fresh out of prison and then go try to run for a representative again
00:25:15.620 and think that you have a shot.
00:25:17.160 But in Illinois, these men, the true oligarchy, which is Jesse Jackson Sr., Jesse Jackson Jr.
00:25:23.720 and Jonathan Jackson, that's an actual oligarchy because they love that phrase.
00:25:27.680 They think that they own Illinois and that this is their way to just keep themselves top of mind
00:25:32.520 a little bit, keep a decent little salary, you know, a decent salary to put on the books
00:25:36.680 and to just stay relevant.
00:25:38.240 But Illinois is tired of being a toy.
00:25:40.640 Yeah.
00:25:40.940 How many of the, in the past 20 years, how many politicians in Illinois went to prison?
00:25:45.520 I mean...
00:25:45.900 Oh man, it's actually sad because I can't count at this point.
00:25:50.380 Um, that's, that's a normal thing is for, you know, Illinois politicians to end up going
00:25:56.100 to not just like, they don't even just get a civil suit.
00:25:58.880 I mean, they really go to prison to do hard time.
00:26:03.020 Like that's how I'm like, they don't, they don't just do a little bit of crime or kind
00:26:07.240 of just overstep a little bit.
00:26:08.880 No, they just like, they're like, no, I'm going for it.
00:26:11.560 I'm going to embezzle a million dollars almost.
00:26:13.320 And, you know, have to do multiple years.
00:26:15.400 And I just can't understand how that's normal.
00:26:19.100 But also that's why I know that I want the national guard to come and I want Trump to
00:26:23.060 have his eye on Illinois because I know why they don't want his eye on Illinois because
00:26:27.860 of the level of corruption.
00:26:29.380 Yep.
00:26:29.720 When Pritzker, during the pandemic, Pritzker kept Illinois in disaster mode longer than
00:26:34.720 almost any other state, I think in the U S he kept it in disaster mode.
00:26:39.460 Do you know why?
00:26:40.060 Because it paid the bills for RTA, RTA is currently 700 billion, I think $700 million, uh, underwater
00:26:48.660 because COVID funded ended CPS, our public school system, 100% supported by COVID funding.
00:26:55.460 They're like, I think a billion dollars underwater.
00:26:58.000 Now, um, there's so many different industries across Illinois that he was able to pay the bills
00:27:03.260 for with COVID funding.
00:27:04.380 So he was content to keep Illinoisans locked in their houses and tell them it was a disaster
00:27:09.140 for as long as possible.
00:27:10.860 It also created fake jobs.
00:27:12.940 So now when you see people saying that there, that there's less jobs being created, well,
00:27:17.900 it's because there's not a bunch of fake COVID jobs being created.
00:27:20.760 People going and shoving swabs up your nose at Walgreens.
00:27:23.560 That's a fake job.
00:27:25.700 You know, healthcare, all this fake healthcare hiring that Illinois did the only new innovation
00:27:30.680 that you see in Illinois right now.
00:27:31.920 Now, if you come, you will notice that the only new businesses are dispensaries, autism
00:27:37.140 clinics, and kidney dialysis businesses.
00:27:41.720 Somebody tell me I'm wrong.
00:27:43.780 I drive over the South side and the only thing I see is new dialysis clinics because people's
00:27:48.260 kidneys are failing here.
00:27:49.560 That's something that needs to be looked into.
00:27:51.100 There's a bunch of new autism clinics and ABA clinics, and then there's dispensaries and
00:27:55.820 the dispensary money, nobody knows where that's going because it's going back to rehabs apparently.
00:28:01.040 And then it's discretionary funding for Illinois to decide how they spend.
00:28:04.840 So all the taxes from dispensaries is not actually going to Illinois at all.
00:28:08.200 I saw this.
00:28:08.740 I can't remember what show I was watching recently, but someone mentioned one of the characters
00:28:12.520 was like, yeah, I was thinking going to Chicago, but you know, I'm not sure it's the
00:28:15.800 right place for me too, windy.
00:28:17.360 And I love that there are, it's kind of shocking when I find out there are people who genuinely
00:28:22.780 believe the Windy City is called Windy because of actual wind, when it's actually about how
00:28:28.100 all the politicians are corrupt and blowing hot air.
00:28:31.260 And it's like, for a hundred years, we've lived that way.
00:28:34.300 Yeah.
00:28:34.660 And it's an expectation.
00:28:35.820 I know a lot of people, they'll keep, I see people like, man, I really hope you don't
00:28:39.200 change once you get in.
00:28:40.960 And the thing I think that's different about me is that I don't have anybody in my ear.
00:28:44.940 I don't have some shady characters over my shoulder telling me what to do.
00:28:49.980 Like I really am basically a rogue agent.
00:28:52.260 And even though I'm a Republican and I'm a conservative, I don't think the Republican
00:28:56.540 party even knows what to do with me in the state because I'm not a normal candidate.
00:29:01.320 I haven't done, I'm not doing anything the way that they usually do it.
00:29:04.980 This is the GOP's problem, or at least one of their problems.
00:29:08.980 They don't want to invest in these districts, like congressional district number one.
00:29:14.560 Their attitude is it's a foregone conclusion, but that means every two years it gets more
00:29:20.040 and more democratic controlled.
00:29:21.900 You, you, you, you have to go after these districts that are democratic, democratic party
00:29:27.000 entrenched that will actually weaken all the other areas and improve your, your standing
00:29:30.620 in this, in the swing districts.
00:29:32.100 Imagine if you destroy a democratic stronghold, it you're, everything else is falling.
00:29:37.600 I've literally had multiple people who were in the GOP in Illinois tell me, oh, your district
00:29:41.920 isn't one of the ones like that's a focus for us because you know, it's a, a dim plus
00:29:46.480 24 or whatever it is.
00:29:48.040 And I'm like, I don't care what, I don't care what the data says you've, for one, you've
00:29:52.880 never had a candidate like me.
00:29:55.400 And for me to be in this area, this is the best shot you will ever have.
00:29:59.720 So to have multiple GOP people still tell me, oh, you know, I don't really know if,
00:30:04.420 you know, we're going to spend there, but we're going to spend in some random area
00:30:07.340 in Illinois, um, because that's an easier win.
00:30:10.280 The GOP needs to buck up.
00:30:11.980 Yep.
00:30:12.520 They need to buck up.
00:30:13.440 And the actual person who's over the GOP in Illinois, they need to have somebody who
00:30:16.880 has more of a mind for strategy because I'm pretty fed up to be honest, as a person who's
00:30:20.720 a, I still consider myself, I'm just a citizen, a person who decided to go for it.
00:30:24.480 That is nothing different about me.
00:30:26.380 I'm a regular, I'm a mama for, I just did homeschool this morning before this interview.
00:30:30.440 I'm a regular woman, made my husband breakfast this morning.
00:30:32.620 Cause this is off day.
00:30:34.120 Like I'm normal.
00:30:35.280 Um, but when I look at this from a business perspective, cause I'm a business person as
00:30:39.560 well, there's a lack of strategy.
00:30:41.820 Why is the Republican party, even at the national level, not investing in more digital, uh, digital
00:30:47.500 media?
00:30:48.080 Why are they not going out and making sure that they have an infrastructure to tell the
00:30:51.860 stories they need to have?
00:30:53.040 We're still missing the plot when it comes to really selling what it means to be a Republican
00:30:58.020 and to be conservative and to care about the country and be a Patriot.
00:31:02.380 Being a Republican is a, I mean, being a conservative and loving America is awesome.
00:31:06.980 The military is awesome.
00:31:08.520 That's why we don't have enough young men going into the military now where people are
00:31:11.280 terrified of the national guard because people know nothing about the military.
00:31:15.560 Hexeth is turning it around though.
00:31:17.080 Hexeth is doing a great job.
00:31:18.420 I love what he's doing.
00:31:19.760 Recruitment is up.
00:31:20.760 Yeah.
00:31:21.260 What, what, what, what the GOP needs to understand it.
00:31:23.420 You look at the Democrats and they keep producing these squad member, social media, personality,
00:31:28.020 influencer types.
00:31:29.240 It works for them.
00:31:30.460 Not that they're doing all too well right now, to be completely honest.
00:31:33.340 But when you think about who are the most prominent Republicans, it's a bunch of stodgy
00:31:39.960 suit wearing, you know, they're nerds.
00:31:43.560 They're not, they're not approachable by the average person.
00:31:47.360 There's, there's, there's something good to the professional in the quorum and that I can
00:31:50.260 respect, but you need to get personal and personable.
00:31:54.440 And I'll say this in, in your district, especially for a place like Chicago, the GOP should be
00:32:01.820 investing to erode and chip away at these strongholds.
00:32:06.000 Otherwise you're just crossing your fingers that you can try and win in a swing district.
00:32:10.500 But then, then all you're really doing is having a battle over gerrymandering instead
00:32:14.240 of actually trying to win the argument.
00:32:15.560 But, uh, we are, we are close to, uh, wrapping up.
00:32:19.440 So if you have any final thoughts or you want to let people know where they can find you.
00:32:22.880 Yeah.
00:32:23.420 So I want people to definitely visit my website, christianmaxwellforcongress.com.
00:32:27.500 I can't do this for Illinois without you, even if you're not an Illinoisan and you're
00:32:32.340 an American citizen.
00:32:33.340 Oh, victory in Illinois is a victory for the U S and I mean that Illinois is a stronghold
00:32:39.160 for some of the most corrupt dysfunction that plagues our country in general.
00:32:43.100 And a lot of the things that they try here and test here spreads to other areas.
00:32:47.220 Pritzker loves the work that he's doing and he's going and tampering in other people's
00:32:51.220 elections, going into places.
00:32:53.000 Like I think he went into Wisconsin and all of those areas.
00:32:55.980 Don't let people like him win here because he will spread his dysfunction via his not-for-profit
00:33:01.300 all throughout the country.
00:33:02.440 And he's already doing it.
00:33:04.160 So if you're a person who wants to be a part of creating the best future or the best chance
00:33:08.000 we have for a better future in America, invest in my election, spread the message, look for
00:33:12.920 more people you can help in Illinois because a victory here is a victory for all of us.
00:33:16.820 And we truly do need help because Illinois is basically North Korea at this point.
00:33:20.900 And we just need, we need help.
00:33:23.700 We need help.
00:33:24.780 So send help.
00:33:26.060 Trump, I hope you see this.
00:33:27.700 Hey, send help.
00:33:29.840 Send help.
00:33:30.840 Did you mention you have a website or a social media handle?
00:33:33.480 ChristianMaxwellForCongress.com.
00:33:35.180 And then on TikTok, I started off this entire journey as the Mod Pun, which stands for the
00:33:39.660 Modern Pundit, but that's just the M-O-D-P-U-N, the Mod Pun.

00:34:01.240 And yeah, come back and visit, you know.
00:34:03.920 I'm in visit.
00:34:04.820 I was just there for the 4th of July.
00:34:06.540 And I'm upset with how the 4th of July celebration is no longer Chicago.
00:34:10.100 There's a lot to talk about with Chicago, but I wish you the best of luck.
00:34:13.920 Really do appreciate you joining.
00:34:15.080 And we'll definitely, we'll reach out to you and we'll keep track of your campaign and
00:34:18.100 see where you're going.
00:34:19.020 And then we'll see you next time.
00:34:21.220 Okay.
00:34:21.480 Thank you so much, Tim.
00:34:22.380 Take care.

00:36:58.100 Well, I don't know, man.
00:36:59.580 Maybe the Republicans are wrong.
