00:01:31.860 two terrorists brothers the zokar sarnev and tamarland sarnev when the cartel shipped drugs into

00:01:38.300 the country as this guy got arrested for um espionage okay trading secrets with the russians for monetary

00:01:44.140 compensation the largest corrupt police bust in new ormond history the days of the police are gone

00:01:51.340 so he was in this bad boy we're gonna go over his past the gang guys so that this all makes sense

00:01:57.160 all right we are back what's up guys welcome to fed it man today we got a big one you guys been

00:02:07.820 requesting this one for a very long time uh david parker ray aka the toybox killer so without further

00:02:13.600 ado i'm gonna go ahead and share screen for y'all let's get right into this thing because we got a

00:02:17.920 decent amount to cover here um so as y'all can see okay david parker ray um born november 6 1939 died

00:02:26.540 may 28 2002 also known as the toybox killer was american kidnapper torture serial rapist and suspected

00:02:32.540 serial killer though no bodies were found ray was accused by his accomplices of killing several women

00:02:37.480 and was suspected by the new uh by the police to have murdered as many as 60 women from arizona and new

00:02:43.200 mexico while living in elephant butte approximately seven miles north of truth or consequences which

00:02:49.440 yes guys that is a real town out there in new mexico don't ask me how they came up with that name

00:02:53.620 okay um ray soundproofed a semi-trailer which he called his toy box and equipped it with items used

00:02:59.860 for sexual torture he would kidnap between five and six women a year holding each of them captive for

00:03:04.580 around three to four months during this period he would sexually abuse victims sometimes involving his 0.78

00:03:09.160 dog or his wife who participated willingly in her husband's crimes and often tortured them

00:03:13.360 with surgical instruments then ray would drug them with barbiturates in an attempt to erase their

00:03:18.220 memories of what had happened before banning them by the side of the road guys this dude was on some

00:03:23.600 real evil time here man so we're gonna get into a documentary that i have here on uh david parker ray

00:03:30.500 and basically it describes who the guy is how he got caught and we're gonna walk through this and

00:03:35.180 we're gonna pause it as needed so i can give you guys my professional background uh i guess commentary

00:03:40.220 right as a former fed and uh yeah let's get right into it man

00:03:44.360 oh hold on let me turn the volume up real quick my bad guys

00:03:51.220 on the 22nd of march 1999 a terrified woman ran through the streets of new mexico naked 0.99

00:04:07.300 she'd escaped after being held captive by sadistic sexual torturer david parker ray 0.91

00:04:16.240 she wasn't his only victim i was scared i didn't know if he was going to kill me or not 0.99

00:04:24.380 he could get a woman in virtually any position she was his sex slave 1.00

00:04:32.380 more than 30 women had passed through parker ray's torture chamber 1.00

00:04:36.980 the police suspected that many of them had been murdered

00:04:40.340 i've never had any question that david parker ray uh is a serial killer

00:04:45.260 the police launched a vast this is the only serial killer guys that is suspected that no one really

00:04:52.580 was able to tie to a body um but you know from the fbi a bunch of different law enforcement agencies

00:04:58.340 that invested investigated this guy and his co-defendants it was very apparent that he killed

00:05:03.660 a bunch of his victims but you guys are going to see how he was able to avoid detection for so long

00:05:08.160 and how they never were able to pin any bodies on him which is kind of miraculous that he's labeled

00:05:12.800 a circular when no one was actually able to attribute bodies to him search for bodies but parker ray was

00:05:19.480 always one step ahead david was a very intelligent individual and took great lengths to make sure that

00:05:26.120 he was not discovered could one of america's most prolific serial killers get away with murder

00:05:33.600 new mexico a barren land with the second highest murder rate in america

00:05:54.420 cut off from the world by 40 000 square miles of desert truth or consequences is a town where people 0.80

00:06:04.780 go about their business and few questions are asked just to give you guys like a general um idea of what

00:06:12.980 it's like to live um in the southwest border of the united states because as you guys know i spent a

00:06:17.700 significant amount of time um in laredo texas right when i was an agent so the southwest border

00:06:23.060 guys is unlike any other place in the united states um there's a very it's a small town vibe

00:06:29.320 most of the people are locals have never left um you're right there next to the mexican border

00:06:34.280 there's typically always some kind of strong mexican culture and or connection in these types of towns

00:06:39.460 and um it's not what you're typically used to and accustomed to in a large city even a medium-sized

00:06:46.640 city anywhere else in the united states so it's really difficult to describe it but if you ever

00:06:52.780 have spent time or you came from anywhere on the southwest border you know exactly what i'm

00:06:56.900 talking about so that is another element as to how this guy was able to do this for so long without

00:07:02.060 getting caught population 6 000 and falling truth of consequences has kind of an undercurrent of

00:07:11.780 criminal activity we investigated a murder where a guy was stabbed 43 times we had another murder where

00:07:21.620 guy beat his wife and put her in the trunk of the car burned her in the car then there's a man found

00:07:28.020 dead in his apartment he had blue panties on and no other clothes he had a doorknob inserted in his rectum 0.93

00:07:36.580 and this is just a community where strange and bizarre crimes occur

00:07:45.860 on the 22nd of march 1999 the police received a call that would open a case

00:07:50.900 far more shocking than anything that's seen before

00:07:53.460 all right this is where stuff is about to get crazy guys

00:08:04.260 the call came from a panicked local after 21 year old cynthia the heel burst into her house

00:08:10.580 she was naked except for a metal dog collar attached to a six foot chain

00:08:14.740 this woman is the main reason that the police were able to uh find capture arrest and prosecute this 1.00

00:08:23.220 guy so uh really crazy stuff and it just so happened to be the luck of the draw you guys are

00:08:28.100 going to see how she escaped here in a second yes i'm calling for a young lady that ran into the house 1.00

00:08:32.740 she says she's just been raped she's got a chain on her and everything since i'm one right away 0.97

00:08:38.580 this lady's naked and everything else she said they've been holding her for three days 1.00

00:08:44.340 now i want you guys to kind of put yourself because i don't think you guys understand the gravity of

00:08:48.740 this imagine right you're down there right in in the southwest border somewhere not too far from mexico

00:08:54.180 i think this area is like maybe two hours from from mexico right and you're sitting there in your

00:08:59.780 trailer you know it's march probably pretty hot at this point just chilling and some chick naked

00:09:05.780 chick busts into your place with a dog collar on her neck frantically crying and saying i've just been 1.00

00:09:12.180 great i just been great oh my god they're coming after me going nuts right not being able to calm

00:09:17.780 down etc is busted please don't let them get me whatever she was hysterical guys so you know that

00:09:23.940 911 call doesn't do the situation justice that is wild like for her to be in that

00:09:32.180 mind state to be dressed the way she was well in this case not dressed at all with a dog collar on

00:09:37.300 her neck that only speaks to the evil that she witnessed but y'all are about to see right now 0.97

00:09:46.020 what she went through crazy stuff man some stuff out of a goddamn saw movie let's get back into it 1.00

00:09:53.940 so the officers arrive on the scene santievi hills telling them don't let them get me they they 0.99

00:10:03.460 kidnap me they uh tied me up they raped me the officers of course you know who just so you guys see

00:10:11.860 that guy's a agent for the new mexico state police now different agencies right different state agencies 0.96

00:10:16.900 typically will have investigators and they'll call them special agents right typically it's not done that

00:10:21.380 way they're just called the detective whatever but some states have like a special bureau like

00:10:25.460 for example like the gbi right the georgia bureau investigation they have special agents and that is

00:10:29.700 the state equivalent to the fbi in this case all right and the fbi gets involved in this investigation

00:10:35.700 as well which you guys are going to see here in a second but uh just you guys aren't confused

00:10:39.780 this is a state's law enforcement officer that's giving uh this interview

00:10:44.340 who and where and all these questions are coming up in their minds and uh sometimes it's really

00:10:49.700 difficult to get uh answers from a frantic person cynthia vahill was a prostitute with a heroin 0.98

00:10:58.500 addiction she said she was abducted by a client and driven to a house on the outskirts of truth or

00:11:04.180 consequences what's one trend that you guys have noticed as i've been breaking down all of these serial

00:11:09.860 killer cases whether it was samuel little um uh who else i broke down a bunch you know the night

00:11:16.980 stalker etc they typically prey on women uh that are vulnerable btk the zodiac killer uh it this is

00:11:27.700 ted bundy this is what they do a lot of times most serial killers and victims are women but a lot of

00:11:33.060 times they're also prostitutes and i'm going to cover this later on with gary ridgeway and uh as the

00:11:37.540 aka the green river killer a lot of serial killers target prostitutes because they're kind of like 0.92

00:11:43.380 this is going to sound harsh almost a forgotten class of society you know they're less likely to

00:11:48.020 have someone report them if they're missing they're less likely to have people up the police might not

00:11:53.300 necessarily put it at the top of their uh priority list when it comes to finding a missing missing

00:11:57.540 person that's a prostitute because since uh the nature of their nature of their work requires them to 1.00

00:12:02.420 kind of be transient all over the place a lot of police departments law enforcement agencies don't

00:12:06.580 want to expend a lot of resources going after someone that quite frankly they might be alive

00:12:12.660 they typically travel a lot and you might not find them in the jurisdiction in which they were

00:12:16.420 originally you know uh claimed missing so you know for i'm not justifying the fact that law

00:12:21.620 enforcement agencies don't prioritize finding missing prostitutes but you know i'd be how do i say this

00:12:28.020 i'd be ingenuine to not tell you guys the reality of why law enforcement agencies don't prioritize

00:12:32.820 finding them and for serial killers this is a recipe in uh in heaven basically because you're able to go

00:12:38.820 ahead and do what you want to do to a class of people that aren't necessarily going to have people

00:12:45.460 come looking for them this is exactly how someone like samuel little killed for damn near 30 plus years

00:12:50.580 all over the country and no one cared hell there are serial killers right now to this day guys that no

00:12:55.780 one has caught the long island uh strangler uh there's also a chicago strangler these guys are still out

00:13:01.780 there and what are their victims predominantly prostitutes guys so this is a class that these

00:13:07.860 guys are able to kind of that are vulnerable that these types of individuals are able to capitalize

00:13:12.980 on and david parker ray was no different let's get back into it as far as when a police officer is

00:13:20.580 called to an incident involving a prostitute that's always in the officer's mind is what degree of

00:13:26.020 credibility do i give this lady especially if it's a real bizarre story 1.00

00:13:33.540 the house and her story was definitely bizarre as y'all are going to see now along to david parker ray

00:13:39.300 a 59 year old mechanic cynthia said that she was on a bed in a kind of expanded trailer house she was

00:13:47.380 naked uh she was handcuffed and she had a collar around her neck which was attached to a pole she was 0.99

00:13:54.020 given a bucket uh for a toilet um she was sexually assaulted she was repeatedly sexually assaulted 0.92

00:14:02.820 she was under the impression she was going to be killed so she was desperate to to get out

00:14:09.540 cynthia vigil said that she was held in this house for three days

00:14:15.060 on the third day cynthia vigil said that a fight ensued 0.91

00:14:18.020 a lamp was broken cynthia vigil then was able to escape out the back door of this residence 1.00

00:14:29.060 parker ray was arrested

00:14:32.580 the police obtained a search but before but before guys we get into the arrest and what followed you

00:14:37.460 guys are probably wondering hold on myron like how did david parker ray even meet this girl well

00:14:44.340 thought ahead got y'all i actually have a phone call that she made uh i think it might have been like

00:14:51.380 one of those remote interviews where she describes how she met him uh so you guys can kind of understand

00:14:56.260 the gravity of under which this arrest was made so you guys got the full timeline so this is in her

00:15:00.740 own words how she met him events that led up to it was i was i was running from a boyfriend i had at the

00:15:08.420 time his name was well i'm not going to say his name but i was running from a boyfriend i had he got

00:15:14.980 really really clingy with me and um it see this is what happens guys when you'd be clinky girlfriend 0.91

00:15:22.740 runs away from you and then gets abducted by infamous serial killers see that's why you gotta have a frame

00:15:27.140 guys okay don't forget don't sim continue on kind of drove me crazy and so i was running from him

00:15:37.380 and i went to a motel off of central and

00:15:43.220 the reason why i was running from him is because i'm super independent and it's hard for me to um

00:15:56.740 to depend on a guy and so he got really clingy and wanted me just to sit there and look pretty

00:16:04.420 and not do nothing and so i took off and i went to a motel room and i went to this motel that i

00:16:15.140 wasn't allowed to be at and translation guys she had been caught at this motel more than likely on

00:16:22.740 other occasions with uh john's and that's why they said yo you can't come back here she doesn't want to

00:16:28.020 admit that but that's more than likely what happened hotels rarely you know decline your business unless

00:16:33.460 you're up to some type of nefarious activities on their property so i was hiding from them so when

00:16:40.340 the morning came and i had to be out because they were going to go in to do whatever you know clean

00:16:46.660 the rooms and stuff i had to be outside snuck out the back window and when i snuck out the back window

00:16:55.700 into the alley i guess david parkeray had seen me and i took off walking and

00:17:03.060 he seen this mutual well not mutual friend but he seen this friend of mine that he met that day i

00:17:10.260 guess and told that guy hey you know um i guess he knew my name and i don't know how he knew my name

00:17:18.180 he asked for me so cherry came up to me and told me that this guy wanted to do a date 0.94

00:17:22.740 so i went back with him to where the date translation um basically solicitation for sex

00:17:31.780 it is with this you know and i get it she's trying to you know minimize it a bit and this is typical

00:17:37.140 right because you don't want to sit there and say yo i was going to prostitute myself but that's what 0.62

00:17:40.900 it was it's not a date it's them setting up an arrangement to pay for sex rv was parked and as we 0.82

00:17:46.900 were approaching the rv i seen him hand him money through the window and terry took off running he

00:17:53.140 just left and so i got into the rv and i worked a deal for him for a date and i got the money and

00:18:02.180 well we went to the back of the rv before we worked out the deal for the date and when we got to the

00:18:07.620 back of the rv he handed me the money and stuff and i went to go put it in my shoe and when i was

00:18:12.820 bent over sitting down bending over to put the money in my shoe

00:18:18.420 he pulled out this badge and he like flipped it over and told me i was under arrest and he put 0.99

00:18:23.700 a handcuff on my wrist oh boy here we go shit's about to get real 0.98

00:18:32.660 and i was like what the heck and i was like what kind of cop are you now what's about to happen next 0.98

00:18:39.540 guys is probably one of the luckiest slash saddest things that happened and this i guess luck is what

00:18:49.780 got david parker ray able to capture this woman check this out the coincidence is wild because i

00:18:56.660 had never seen a badge like that before it didn't look like any apd badge that i had ever seen and

00:19:04.100 he said this by apd she means albuquerque police department guys he was with the state police

00:19:11.300 and i'm like well you know state cops don't do stings on prostitution

00:19:17.940 the fact that she knows that is a huge red flag she even busted a few times

00:19:23.540 and so i started fighting with him to get away and he had one hat one end of the handcuffs and the other

00:19:29.860 one was on my wrist and i was getting closer to the door i could feel my fingertips touching the door

00:19:36.180 she yelled cindy whoop so he yelled cindy watch what happens next and when he yelled cindy i like

00:19:44.900 i was in shock because i had given him the name crystal but i little did i know he had said cindy

00:19:52.500 earlier to that guy i don't know how he knew my name or nothing but when i got in the car i called i

00:19:59.300 told him my name was something different and so as i was getting approaching the door my fingertips

00:20:05.300 were almost touching the door she yelled cindy and i it paused me because i was a little bit in shock

00:20:12.580 and the female came out of behind a curtain in the rv and he and she shocked me she had this big 1.00

00:20:21.380 long red and white cattle prod and she stuck it in my neck and just shocked me and it knocked me at 1.00

00:20:29.860 like to the floor it knocked me to my knees so what are the chances that his accomplice has the same 0.75

00:20:37.540 name as the prostitute that just lied to him that you know coincidence right ends up giving david parker 0.98

00:20:45.700 raid the second that he needs right of her distraction to get his accomplice to shock

00:20:51.780 her so they can finally take control of her talk about luck man or in this case misfortune for the 1.00

00:20:58.660 victim and as soon as i was weakened by the shock they got both handcuffs on me and they drugged me

00:21:07.140 back and they handcuffed me to a cabinet in the back of the rv so then bam game over

00:21:15.700 now you guys know how she how they found her and how they got her um basically imprisoned so let's

00:21:24.900 go back to the original documentary but i wanted you guys to understand the full context as to how

00:21:29.540 she was caught in the first place and she ended up being there for three days escapes etc as you guys

00:21:34.180 already know um but let's get back into this house to investigate the prostitute's allegations 1.00

00:21:45.700 you can see it's a disheveled house not too surprising watch what they find guys pretty

00:21:55.460 disturbing stuff once they go inside the house they find where cynthia had been held

00:22:02.260 oh i wonder what that bucket is right there pretty disgusting but guess what guys even though that might

00:22:08.980 be disgusting it corroborates what her testimony and i think you guys got to understand when it 0.97

00:22:13.620 comes to prostitutes and taking their word for it um unfortunately you know prostitutes typically don't 1.00

00:22:20.260 come off as the most credible of victims right they do drugs a lot of times they lie there's a lot of

00:22:24.820 random disputes with johns so they're not considered credible credible witnesses so this surveillance

00:22:30.580 video that they're doing right now though the character of their potential witness typically isn't of the

00:22:36.820 highest they're able to corroborate her statements through independently searching the home and

00:22:41.220 seeing what she said was there in front of their own eyes so what does that do that builds credibility

00:22:47.540 for an otherwise uh how do i say this not best witness right it adds credibility to someone that

00:22:55.940 under other pretenses will more than likely not be believed by the court and or a jury of their peers

00:23:01.860 so this is a huge find for the police let's get back in the sunken living room area they see the bed

00:23:09.140 they see the pole but there's some chains and manacles there there's a bucket with her waist on the floor 1.00

00:23:17.300 there was obvious signs of a struggle and disarray in the room

00:23:23.220 obviously what they saw did not look like the area of somebody who had been kept there voluntarily

00:23:28.340 the search team also found a collection of sinister sexual devices

00:23:38.020 everything that they were seeing did nothing for them except to add evidence and corroboration to what

00:23:45.380 cynthia their victim was telling them

00:23:50.820 and bam just like that you take a otherwise non-credible witness and immediately make them credible

00:23:58.500 but nothing could prepare them for what they would find inside a simple white trailer

00:24:02.900 at the side of parker ray's house

00:24:07.780 wasn't really until the utility trailer was open that we really began to get a good understanding of

00:24:15.540 what we were potentially dealing with then pandora's box was open

00:24:21.220 inside footage guys look at that oh this guy

00:24:30.420 was not messing around okay this dude invested like if i'm not mistaken a hundred thousand dollars

00:24:36.820 into this toy box so to speak right this trailer that he you know moved uh kept on his property so

00:24:43.700 this dude was on some real demon time and this is all actual real crime scene uh footage

00:24:51.380 saw the gynecologist table right there

00:24:56.100 in the desert town of truth or consequences prostitute cynthia vahill was recovering in hospital 1.00

00:25:03.060 she had escaped from three days of sexual torture at the hands of david parker ray

00:25:07.940 parker ray had been arrested he was a 59 year old mechanic and a father of two 0.79

00:25:20.580 he claimed that the prostitute had agreed to a session of rough bondage 0.88

00:25:25.140 yeah okay bro they agreed to all that stop the cap okay was that was she a willing participant 0.60

00:25:31.460 yeah she don't want to do it she was willing okay

00:25:36.820 at parker ray's house the police were discovering the horrifying truth

00:25:42.580 and guys the fbi was all over this even though this was a state case when you get something wild

00:25:46.660 like this you're going to need help the feds are going to be interested and you know the fbi has

00:25:50.820 a fantastic forensic evidence response team so i'm not surprised that they are out there assisting

00:25:54.900 because you know let's be honest here you know the state police probably have a limited

00:25:58.340 amount of personnel that they could send in that area that

00:26:01.860 local police in that area aren't equipped to handle something like this so when you have

00:26:05.060 something this extraordinary occurring typically the feds are going to be called in for some

00:26:09.140 assistance even though this was a state investigation and the fbi was lending assistance

00:26:13.860 stuff like this can't be ignored even by the feds remember guys as you if you guys watch this channel

00:26:18.100 you already know premeditated murder kidnapping these types of crime in general typically fall on

00:26:24.260 the state unless there's some kind of interstate nexus and someone was kidnapped and passed

00:26:28.900 state lines etc the search team had arrived at a seemingly innocuous white trailer

00:26:34.500 look at all the tools pictures you know erotic photography skulls like this is crazy

00:26:50.660 it was pretty my man got diagrams in different positions he could put the victims like dude crazy

00:27:03.060 pretty amazing it was remarkable i'd never seen anything like it in my life

00:27:09.540 the first thing my eyes focused on was this black chair which turned out to be a gynecology chair 0.57

00:27:18.180 my man was dedicated to the cause holy oh just sitting there empty

00:27:29.220 there was medical equipment in and everywhere

00:27:33.220 drills modified drills with sexual devices on cages 1.00

00:27:37.300 i mean it was just this unbelievable looking den

00:27:47.300 this was a torture chamber

00:27:50.420 david paul yo and he had a sign in there called satan's den dude this guy was the real life jigsaw

00:27:56.020 like crazy i would be surprised if like the creators of jigsaw like got inspiration for the movie from this

00:28:01.860 guy and he actually did one other thing that was really sinister that you guys are going to recognize

00:28:05.860 immediately if you're a fan of any of these saw movies okay ray called the trailer his toy box

00:28:11.220 or satan's den to see it the first time just kind of give you a feeling of sickness and

00:28:20.260 it was just remarkable how everything was set up

00:28:25.460 everything in here denoted pain everything in here denoted destruction

00:28:32.020 there were several several items in there that were obviously meticulously crafted by hand

00:28:37.060 and were very very sinister

00:28:43.220 david was known as very adept with his hands as an excellent mechanic

00:28:48.180 by day parker ray worked for the local state park

00:28:52.740 and this is david's truck right here his original truck

00:28:56.420 so a handyman that has these type of crazy fantasies yeah well

00:29:01.860 nothing i guess nothing is beyond his imagination he could create whatever he wanted this dude was a

00:29:05.780 handyman he was well respected for his technical ability to those who knew him he was not the kind

00:29:12.420 of man who tortured women in his spare time ah he was just a real nice guy he just

00:29:19.700 real nice real smart he was always eager to to help these other guys do things you know around here

00:29:27.940 and these are some things that he's made he named them snake catchers that's a rope through a piece of pipe

00:29:37.700 and he had the ankle spreader this looks like something wait what the ankle spreader what

00:30:06.980 that he would have made um and he has it labeled ankle spreader

00:30:18.580 my man has the labels in there too oh oh no my bad excuse me one second could you imagine

00:30:23.380 this dude has a victim in in the spot and he's like going through his tools figuring out okay how

00:30:28.100 tall is this girl she's about five foot ten okay uh i got this labeled okay i got the ankle spreader 0.94

00:30:33.380 here this one is for 26 to 41 uh 41 to 50 okay cool 41 to 50 bam like my bed has like a whole rolodex 0.96

00:30:42.020 and organization skills when it comes to having a bunch of torture sexual torture devices you know this 0.99

00:30:48.580 speaks to the guy's crazy premeditation and predisposition really and how do i say this commitment

00:30:57.700 to making this happen i mean hell the dude wasn't making that much money guys working for the state

00:31:03.220 as like kind of a handyman he probably wasn't making more than like 30 to 50k at most yet this toy box that

00:31:09.620 he had cost him a hundred thousand dollars plus tell me if you're spending two three four times your 0.98

00:31:16.820 annual salary salary on something that means you really love that shit and his creativity with the 0.99

00:31:22.900 toys definitely demonstrate that he could get a woman in virtually any position that he wanted her in 1.00

00:31:32.020 she was his sex slave when they entered this this trailer 0.99

00:31:42.100 and then he had the dildo fashioned out of uh looks like a plastic pipe actually 0.99

00:31:48.740 these are nails that have been uh melted into this plastic collar and this would be inserted in her 1.00

00:31:56.420 vagina or anal canal and he would work it and work it until 1.00

00:32:00.660 um he could get it all the way in and then they would have these spikes here 0.99

00:32:05.140 this guy get poked it's going to be very painful and rip their inner thighs out 1.00

00:32:13.380 i have to wonder how many people insane no wonder you sick bastards wanted this guy so bad 1.00

00:32:21.540 i didn't even know who this guy was until y'all were messaging me like almost every day yo 0.99

00:32:26.180 david parker ray david parker ray the toy box killer yo even casey you guys remember him he um

00:32:31.300 my buddy from that lives in columbia now i'm actually going to go down and visit him and do

00:32:35.220 fresh fit down there but he was one of the people that even hit me up saying bro you need to do a

00:32:39.060 toy box killer and after he sent me that message i was like you know what let me look into this a

00:32:42.820 bunch of y'all been asking me about this guy and oh man y'all didn't disappoint i'll say that i'm

00:32:49.620 sure you guys are watching this in the chat right now like what is going on i came in contact with

00:32:55.700 all this stuff parker ray's terrifying den was evidence of a long campaign of sexual torture

00:33:08.180 the consensus was pretty clear that there were going to be additional victims here for example

00:33:12.980 the utility trailer was taken apart virtually and we collected trinkets rings necklaces jewelry

00:33:21.380 and just to give you guys an idea what he means by this if you look at the fbi um albuquerque

00:33:27.060 website right they have a whole page just on david parker ray and look at all the trinkets they found

00:33:34.500 in the toy box and to this day they're still trying to identify victims guys because remember they never

00:33:39.300 actually found a dead body that they could link to this guy effectively you know there were some

00:33:44.740 suspected women that might have been killed by him but as far as he goes he was never actually convicted

00:33:50.580 of any murder charges one of his accomplices were which you guys are going to see that in a second

00:33:56.180 but yeah even to this day guys the fbi maintains a page for him on their website to gather information

00:34:03.860 came from somebody despite police appeals for more women to come forward cynthia was still the only known victim 1.00

00:34:12.740 but as a prostitute and drug addict she might not be believed in court

00:34:17.940 the police needed more credible witnesses

00:34:21.940 see so even with the stuff i told you guys before even though she was corroborated she's still not that credible

00:34:26.660 so with a case like this you want to get as many witnesses as possible now can you build a case around one witness

00:34:32.100 and put someone in jail absolutely but typically when you're going after someone like this you don't

00:34:36.740 want to miss you know you want to get as many witnesses as you can so you can make sure you put

00:34:40.020 someone like this away for good

00:34:48.340 inside the toy box parker ray had set up two video cameras this is probably when it comes to self-snitch

00:34:56.500 i guess this guy was on another level he really thought he was probably never going to get caught if he's

00:35:00.260 you know brazen enough to put cameras in the den suspicion was that he had recorded the suffering of his

00:35:06.500 captives it made sense to believe and was logical to deduce that there were videotapes somewhere

00:35:13.540 and many many were found were probably a hundred at least a hundred holy most of the tapes contain

00:35:22.500 nothing of relevance but one would prove explosive

00:35:31.540 it showed parker ray testing his equipment

00:35:41.220 yo could you imagine you you're recording yourself like kind of preparing to rob a bank and putting 0.98

00:35:46.260 that like somewhere in your house okay yo break yourself fool yeah not good enough 1.00

00:35:52.500 one more time break yourself fool give me the gun give me the money right now 0.99

00:35:57.380 i need more emphasis i mean how should i do this maybe i should put the gun for 0.99

00:36:01.620 break yourself fool oh that's the one cool got it all right done cut it no more takes let's get into 0.99

00:36:08.420 it could you imagine they find a video of you doing that crap like practicing and rehearsing 1.00

00:36:13.380 after you get caught in a bank robbery and they search your home this is effectively what's going on 0.90

00:36:17.300 with this guy you know he's out here testing the equipment oh let me make sure this thing works

00:36:20.820 oh well you know i could better organize this stuff let's make alphabetical order crazy man

00:36:25.860 you know how it's gonna work then it cut this might turn off and when it came back to life

00:36:40.980 it's what you see here is the inside of the toy box

00:36:49.060 it's what you see here is the inside of the toy box

00:37:02.020 you see a youngish blonde haired woman with david strapped down naked he's standing over top 0.97

00:37:13.380 of her or kneeling next to her at all times he's constantly touching her and it's obvious that he's

00:37:18.420 trying to get some kind of sexual gratification out of this she appeared to be unconscious or at 0.66

00:37:23.620 least unresponsive to anything he was doing to her um this hasn't have any of the earmarks of a

00:37:29.140 consensual encounter and as you guys know he was you know notorious for drugging his victims heavily

00:37:34.580 so they wouldn't be able to remember a lot of times what happened to them now it's going to get

00:37:37.860 even crazier uh between two people who just enjoy this kind of behavior the videotape was crucial

00:37:46.020 evidence of another victim but who she was was a mystery we're looking at this videotape how the idea

00:37:53.140 is crazy guys pay attention and we need to know who this person is he moves her leg at one point and 0.99

00:37:58.740 what's exposed on her right calf on the outside of her right calf is a tattoo and you can see it in

00:38:04.660 the video but it's not clear and it looks like a pretty you know it looked like a pretty big tattoo

00:38:09.860 so we took this tape to the fbi to have it enhanced once the image was enhanced we provided that to the

00:38:18.420 media bingo very shortly afterwards a woman came forward and said that's my tattoo that's me

00:38:26.660 that tattoo i have is unique nobody else has it kelly van cleeve was a 25 year old child minder

00:38:41.540 she was a friend of parker ray's daughter but had no recollection of ever going to his house

00:38:47.540 and no idea why the fbi had a picture of her tattoo

00:38:50.820 so imagine that guys you were graped you know in the past you don't even remember it you don't

00:38:57.940 even know about it and then you see all of a sudden the fbi puts out a bulletin looking for someone with

00:39:02.900 this tattoo and you have that same exact tattoo i could only imagine like what was going on in my

00:39:08.660 life wait wait i'm a victim and like you know i'm not a suspect wait hold on let me go see what's

00:39:15.380 going on here and then you find out what she's about to find out crazy they told me that it came

00:39:22.900 off of a a video they found in david's house toy box as they called it it was weird and i was scared

00:39:37.140 initially it was clear that she was having difficulty remembering everything that had happened to her in

00:39:42.900 the utility and just so you guys know his daughter glenda gene jesse ray um assisted him in doing

00:39:49.940 this uh these crimes you know and you're going to see here how she was a participant in this 0.91

00:39:54.740 particular instance with this witness with the tattoo we're talking about the sister the daughter was

00:39:59.620 definitely in on it guys crazy stuff the trailer and in her experience with david before the fbi

00:40:08.900 contacted me and by the way this is not to be confused guys with um the other girl cindy that

00:40:16.980 was also helping uh david parker ray so he has two female accomplices helping him in this you know so

00:40:24.100 that i think is a big reason why he was able to be successful as well because he had two women helping

00:40:28.660 to lure prostitutes obviously whenever you use a woman it disarms the girl that you're trying your 0.98

00:40:33.700 potential victim and you're able to go ahead and garner how to say this a bit more trust and put them in a

00:40:38.420 more vulnerable position ted bundy infamously used to do this as well what he would do is he would

00:40:43.380 walk up with a cast and he'd kind of pitch himself as a disabled guy or a hurt guy that you know just

00:40:48.580 needs a little bit of help hey can you help me carry my books to my car blah blah the girls will 1.00

00:40:51.700 go with him carrying the books and then you know what he would do is he'd have a crowbar and he'd when

00:40:56.340 she wasn't looking he'd smack her upside the head with the crowbar once he got back to the um car

00:41:00.420 then he'd drag her into the you know buggy and take off so this isn't a foreign tactic for a lot of these

00:41:07.460 um serial killers right because they need to be able to build trust especially with someone like

00:41:11.060 a woman who's going to be a little bit more apprehensive uh to get their victims so everyone 1.00

00:41:15.060 has a different method you know ted bundy wore a cast this dude used his girl and his daughter

00:41:19.940 everyone a lot of times when they're super prolific typically has some kind of game that they do

00:41:24.100 to find their victims i used to have nightmares of being tied to a table or handcuffs or

00:41:33.940 duct tape scared me but i could never put any of it together and then when the fbi called

00:41:43.060 then i knew they weren't just dreams imagine that having nightmares and not being able to explain

00:41:50.260 why until the fbi calls you oh my god they were real kelly was struggling to remember the details of

00:42:01.140 what parker ray had done to her but the police had made a chilling discovery in parker ray's house

00:42:06.980 which would explain everything a tape recording in his own voice that he played to initiate his victims 0.94

00:42:15.140 hello there bitch i'm going to tell you in detail why you have been kidnapped what's going to happen 1.00

00:42:23.620 to you this was sinister bro hold on did y'all catch that my man had a pre-recorded message 0.99

00:42:32.180 for the girls ready to go as soon as they woke up after being drugged and what you heard by the

00:42:39.540 way guys i'm going to rewind it for you guys so you get a better you hear that again that's actually his

00:42:44.260 voice literally opens up hey there wild i'm gonna rewind that just see i could catch that again

00:42:59.940 kelly was struggling to remember the details of what parker ray had done to her

00:43:04.580 but the police had made a chilling discovery in parker ray's house

00:43:08.020 which would explain everything a tape recording in his own voice that he played to initiate his victims

00:43:17.540 and guys the scary part is this thing was recorded in the early 90s if i'm not mistaken

00:43:21.220 this was recorded somewhere between 1991 1993 when i was doing my initial research on this case

00:43:26.340 uh so forgive me if i'm wrong it might be hazy i've been researching this thing for about two weeks

00:43:29.700 now and um yo the fact that he had a cassette ready to go you know just to kind of save himself time

00:43:39.380 kind of speaks volumes as to how many people he potentially actually had against their will um

00:43:46.340 yeah i would not be surprised if the people that created saw like the producers of saw

00:43:50.980 weren't inspired by this guy because as you guys know if you watch any of the saw movies same mo you

00:43:55.220 wake up all of a sudden like not knowing what the hell's going on next thing you know you hear that

00:43:59.300 voice i want to play a game you know so i would not be surprised if they didn't get some of that

00:44:05.140 inspiration for that movie from this dude hello there i'm going to tell you in detail why you have 0.95

00:44:13.940 been kidnapped what's going to happen to you this was sinister hello there bitch like yeah stuff now 1.00

00:44:25.860 you are obviously here against your will you're going to be kept chained talk about self-snitching 1.00

00:44:33.460 stupid stupid in a variety of different positions usually with your legs or knees forced wide apart 1.00

00:44:42.020 you'll be raped thoroughly and 36 to 41 inches guys remember he has that ankle spreader tool 1.00

00:44:48.020 repeatedly in every hole you've got 0.98

00:44:52.340 midway through the tape revealed that kelly's memory loss may have been no accident

00:44:58.500 you're going to be drugged up real heavy with a combination of sodium pentothal and phenobarbital

00:45:05.460 here okay let's just self-snitch some more while you're at it you know what uh dave just give me

00:45:10.820 your social while you're at it bro you know we're here already you know you gave us a pretty good 0.99

00:45:14.900 concoction for that but just give us a social it is what it is uh talk about stupid criminals but 0.99

00:45:21.140 this goes to show how cocky he was that he would never get caught my man recorded a cassette tape 0.99

00:45:27.380 self-snitching and telling the girls what happens to them what's gonna happen to them and what they 0.99

00:45:34.020 should expect unbelievable you're not gonna remember a fucking thing about this little adventure 0.99

00:45:40.660 or what has happened to you sodium pentothal and phenobarbital numb pain and induced amnesia 0.97

00:45:48.260 it seems i i love how he actually told them specifically what he was giving them as if like 0.70

00:45:52.740 some hooker from albuquerque is gonna know what the hell that is oh my god i know what that is i 1.00

00:45:57.220 remember that from chemistry class when i was in you know high school or oh i remember this when i was 0.99

00:46:02.660 in harvard taking you know advanced chemistry like the amount of detail that he's going into

00:46:08.980 is ridiculous because the class of people is more than likely kidnapping would never know what the hell

00:46:12.740 it is anyway and parker ray was using drugs to control his victims and ensure they would not remember his 0.95

00:46:19.220 crimes maybe explain some of the things that were done to me 0.97

00:46:26.420 being tied down and how uncomfortable you're gonna feel and being used as a sex slave oh and by the

00:46:36.980 way this recording guys is like some if i'm not mistaken somewhere between like 30 to 40 minutes long 0.53

00:46:43.220 like it's not like it's uh five minutes and hey welcome to the toy box like no he goes into

00:46:48.820 excruciating detail of what's gonna happen it's like a damn near 40 minute uh excerpt matter of

00:46:54.100 fact i'll show y'all i'll pull it up here so you guys can see it on the side

00:46:59.460 parker ray released kelly three days after taking her captive confident that she would never remember

00:47:04.660 her ordeal but as the police questioned her memories started to surface over time she was able to piece

00:47:16.420 together elements so here you guys go this is the uh like the full videos you guys can see us 40 about

00:47:22.740 45 minutes 44 minutes and 16 seconds occasionally if we want to take the time and trouble even under

00:47:29.700 these done both will be for my part i like getting off so there you go you guys get the idea but man

00:47:39.220 the captivity in the toy box i didn't know how long i had been there i could see under the duct tape once

00:47:49.540 in a while had all kinds of sex devices and whips and chains and stuff i remember him coming and going

00:47:58.420 several times but i don't know how many times when he was in there he was in there for a long time

00:48:09.380 i was scared

00:48:12.260 i remember telling him that i wanted to go home

00:48:17.540 i didn't know if he was going to kill me or not

00:48:18.980 i don't ever remember drinking or eating anything he um

00:48:30.260 let me up to use a port-a-pot once but i was shackled to do that

00:48:41.220 i remember him using different kinds of toys on me

00:48:43.460 and they hurt

00:48:54.820 yeah you can see the pain in her eyes man

00:48:58.100 craziness man it's about all i remember

00:49:10.100 the police his daughter set this girl up now had a credible witness but not necessarily one who

00:49:21.460 could get parker ray behind bars potential weakness that she had she didn't remember certain things

00:49:28.740 she didn't have a clear recollection of others and that weakens the case and the overall picture that

00:49:35.460 the jury is going to be given of exactly what david was up to so this was the guy that prosecuted

00:49:40.820 um parker ray and even for him you know he had cynthia first now he's got this girl but you know her

00:49:46.180 jogging memory can be problematic man so you know when you're prosecuting case in a court of law where

00:49:51.540 you got to win beyond a reasonable doubt stuff like this can come in you know give the defense

00:49:56.500 that reasonable doubt that they need remember guys whenever you bring a defendant into court it's

00:50:00.820 on the state to prove he's guilty the defense don't got to do anything they just got to respond and

00:50:05.620 rebut so their job is to create reasonable doubt the prosecution's job is to prove it beyond a

00:50:11.140 reasonable doubt the prosecution needed more and by parker ray's own admission there were many more

00:50:18.500 victims to find in his tape recordings he indicated that he had been involved in sexual assault since he 0.99

00:50:25.300 was 15. david was a self-snitching once again stupid arrested when he was 59 so he has approximately 44 0.97

00:50:34.420 years of practice as of the time this tape was made i've taken 37 women for these purposes 1.00

00:50:42.180 hell maybe more by now so many victims unaccounted for there was a fear that parker ray was more than

00:50:48.900 a sadistic torturer he could be a prolific serial killer you are expendable it may sound harsh and 0.97

00:50:59.540 cold but i won't have any qualms at all about slicing your throat if you believe what the tape is true 1.00

00:51:08.420 that he rapes and tortures women there's no reason not to believe the other parts about killing women 1.00

00:51:14.420 and disposing of their bodies is also true death was a constantly resurfacing idea from david not 0.79

00:51:22.180 from us but from david and his writings and his drawings and his tapes everything revolved around

00:51:27.300 death now you can see why the fbi is so certain that this guy was a serial killer and why to this day

00:51:33.460 even though they weren't able to prove any bodies you know explicitly to him beyond a reasonable doubt

00:51:39.220 this is why the fbi feels so strongly that this guy was a serial killer many law enforcement because

00:51:44.420 there's honestly no other recourse from once you kidnap and you know do this type of stuff to them

00:51:50.500 i think this girl only got spared one of the few because she was one of his daughter's friends you

00:51:56.500 know that might actually come back to bite him because she was too close to home but i guarantee

00:51:59.860 if she was some random whatever probably wouldn't have lived i've never had any question that david parker

00:52:06.260 ray is a serial killer there's never been a doubt in my mind about it whether the case was going to be a

00:52:11.860 murder trial would depend on whether we could link david to the actual killing of victims

00:52:21.380 if parker ray was a serial killer he lived in the perfect place to hide the bodies

00:52:27.300 all right this is pretty insane guys listen up here they're going to explain

00:52:30.900 all the advantages that you know parker ray had to evade capture for so long it's

00:52:36.820 actually kind of like a match in a match in paradise for serial killers

00:52:43.860 his house was on the shores of elephant butte lake

00:52:46.260 at 43 miles long and 200 feet deep it's the largest body of water in new mexico

00:52:55.860 there was a map that we recovered in david parker ray's house that was just

00:53:02.900 a map of the lake with x's on it david had a sailboat a large skiff sailing boat with depth

00:53:08.180 finding equipment a map with an x on in the you know lake

00:53:15.940 you know depth finding equipment

00:53:17.460 and he knew that lake very very well and he knew where the deepest places in that lake were

00:53:24.980 i was hoping that we were going to have a body i was praying that we were going to have a body

00:53:32.740 there were overall like between two and three full dive missions that were performed there

00:53:38.420 without being able to locate any evidence that we could connect definitively to the parker ray

00:53:44.500 investigation david had the perfect job if he wants to hide bodies or whatever he had access

00:53:51.140 to every nook and cranny of elephant butte state park also guys not to mention that lake

00:53:56.500 um is very murky i remember when i was researching this this is kind of an important

00:54:00.260 point that i wish this documentary highlighted more that lake is extremely murky and there's a

00:54:05.540 bunch of um fish that are kind of like will eat anything if i'm not mistaken if it's like

00:54:11.860 catfish or one or piranhas or something like that but it will make sense that he would dump it in the

00:54:17.220 water and wouldn't have a care in the world because the fish would get to the body before the police 0.99

00:54:21.700 would you know so that's more than likely why they couldn't find any remains he had access to areas

00:54:27.860 that are kept under lock and key that keep the public away from but to which he had access

00:54:34.020 another key had access to areas that regular people don't

00:54:38.260 we searched caves holes in the ground wells mines lakes we searched everywhere we could possibly

00:54:47.780 think it was endlessly frustrating

00:54:53.620 now you can see how this was the perfect storm brewing in parker ray's uh favor

00:55:01.140 the case against parker ray was weak the best witness had a patchy memory and unless bodies could be

00:55:07.140 found there was a chance that a murderer would walk free he was an intelligent man and capable of going

00:55:16.260 the extra mile and making an extra effort especially when it came to this kind of behavior to do what

00:55:22.180 he needed to do to avoid detection and i believe that's what he did

00:55:28.420 but parker ray hadn't thought of everything an extraordinary confession from one of his

00:55:33.140 acquaintances was about to blow the investigation wide open oh this is where there's a turning point

00:55:45.060 police believed that victims of david parker ray's campaign of sexual torture

00:55:49.700 were buried in the new mexico desert

00:55:54.980 but no bodies had been discovered and the case against him was on rocky ground

00:55:59.060 the only known surviving victims were a heroin addicted prostitute and a woman whose memory of

00:56:05.220 her captivity had been scrambled by parker ray's cocktail of drugs even though there was a good

00:56:10.580 amount of corroboration to go after someone like this with no bodies i could see why the prosecution

00:56:14.820 was hesitant you know you want to put guys like this away forever because think about it you only

00:56:18.100 get one chance if you try to prosecute him and he beats it he walks forever versus you taking a little

00:56:22.580 bit more time to gather more evidence develop more witnesses develop more cooperators and then come at

00:56:27.780 him right from the first get and get him prosecuted because remember guys double jeopardy is a thing

00:56:32.500 in the united states for my international people and this is why oj still to this day can never be

00:56:37.540 tried for the nicole simpson murder and ron goldman you know when even though he damn near decapitated his

00:56:44.820 wife which actually broke that down as well if you guys want to go check it out in the documentary playlist

00:56:49.540 but kelly van cleave clearly remembered what happened before she was drugged

00:56:56.340 in july 1996 she was abducted from this once bustling bar on the outskirts of truth or consequences

00:57:05.620 we rounded up a bunch of friends and went bar hopping and this is where we ended up

00:57:12.740 we always ended up here no matter where we started this is where we quit

00:57:24.820 there used to be a little mini bar sitting here

00:57:28.820 pool tables right there and we were playing pool and i had ordered a beer

00:57:35.860 and i left to take one of my drunk friends home

00:57:44.580 and came back and some of my other friends left

00:57:49.060 and at the end of the evening it was just me and jesse

00:57:56.180 jesse ray david's daughter

00:57:59.780 jesse agreed to give kelly a lift home but she drove straight to her father's house

00:58:08.740 the fact that it was his own daughter kidnapping just shows the depth of his resolve when it came

00:58:13.300 to this behavior and uh and also showed his lack of emotional involvement with just about anybody or

00:58:19.780 anything crazy i just remember being on her couch her dad's couch the next thing you know you

00:58:28.100 triggered my trap card david ray parker i mean sorry david parker a.k.a seto kaiba walks into the room

00:58:37.860 that's when they held the knife to my throat i put the dog collar on the duct tape the handcuffs

00:58:49.380 and i ended up tied to a table

00:58:58.100 jesse ray was arrested for her role in kelly's abduction are you optimistic that you'll be out

00:59:06.180 soon yeah well i guess i guess this is how her and her dad spent you know daddy daughter time 0.99

00:59:12.500 that's how they bonded kidnapping chicks and torturing them in the fucking toy box 1.00

00:59:17.860 talk about good parenting oh man 0.99

00:59:20.180 it wasn't the only time she'd taken someone home to meet her father in july 1997 one year after

00:59:30.260 kelly's abduction a friend of hers had gone missing from the same bar marie parker was a 21 year old

00:59:37.220 mother of two it was almost midnight she said she was going to go home and check on her kids she'd be

00:59:44.740 right back by the time the bar closed at two o'clock she still wasn't there and her car was still there

00:59:50.740 so but somebody said jesse followed marie out marie is one of the unaccounted for victims that

00:59:59.220 people heavily suspect was killed by david parker ray

01:00:02.740 no one has heard from marie parker since that night she had two little girls

01:00:12.980 there was no way she was going to leave her kids so i knew something had happened

01:00:18.020 the similarities between kelly's abduction and marie's disappearance seemed unlikely to be coincidence

01:00:24.500 you ever heard of a woman named marie parker not really no

01:00:28.580 stop the cow she's a woman that uh disappeared about two years ago and i just thought i'd ask 0.97

01:00:37.540 you know i said that'd be on the tree i'd ask if you had any information she could provide me with that

01:00:43.300 you know with marie parker we knew and just so you guys know his sister his uh not sister his

01:00:47.540 daughter actually went to the police to report her father's suspicious activity there was a little

01:00:53.140 bit of a fallout and she ended up kind of getting back on her dad's side and like helping him

01:00:58.900 with the criminal activity so it's actually insane how it's at first she kind of had a heart for it

01:01:04.020 but then she kind of changed her mindset so you know i'm just going to support my dad anyway so

01:01:09.220 yeah i guess some you know dads and daughters like to go out and have dinner daddy dinner uh

01:01:13.860 daughter daddy dates and you know which i think is actually really cool i think that's a good thing

01:01:18.580 um you know spending time with your daughter of course because i think the father to daughter

01:01:22.660 relationship is critical to that woman's overall um future acceptance of positive masculinity but in 1.00

01:01:29.460 this case you like you know what fuck it my dad wants to kill uh whores and uh put him in his toy 1.00

01:01:34.500 box so be it we got a bond so it shows how much his daughter loved him even though she originally 1.00

01:01:39.940 snitched on him but regardless this is some sick stuff he was involved but we didn't have enough

01:01:45.540 information or evidence to to pin anything on him she's the one that disappeared from one of the bars

01:01:53.620 yes sir i don't think one that i know what the incident that's on you were a part of that might

01:01:58.980 no certainly not on the night marie disappeared jesse ray had been at the bar with a friend of her father's

01:02:07.700 called roy yancey

01:02:11.860 the police suspected he was an accomplice and brought him in for questioning

01:02:18.980 his statement was astonishing

01:02:24.020 from what i understand is that he's had many years of kidnapping and torturing and killing women

01:02:28.980 the story that roy gave was that marie parker had in fact been a victim of david parker ray that

01:02:35.700 she had been abducted while she was in the toy box she was systematically tortured over a period of a

01:02:41.860 couple of days when she wasn't being tortured she was placed on a cot and slid underneath a part of the

01:02:48.020 the uh the wall in the toy box that they could shut and lock uh and at the end of all of this uh the

01:02:54.820 the information that roy yancey gave us was that he was instructed to kill marie parker by strangulation

01:03:01.380 how did you come up with the idea to kill marie uh that was david ray parker's idea that's pretty

01:03:09.220 remarkable it just seemed like it went up to a different level and each level went up to it became

01:03:15.300 more overwhelming and then i began to wonder where is it going to end i know they ended up giving me a

01:03:21.220 rope and telling me to strangle her and she wasn't dying fast enough okay but you said she wasn't 1.00

01:03:28.500 dying fast enough was she struggling or now testimony like this guy's typically always ends 0.81

01:03:33.300 up problematic because you got one crook snitching on her another crook typically for some type of

01:03:37.620 leniency so this type of information is almost always hit with like a grain of salt but there are some

01:03:44.020 facts in his favor where he might be telling the truth obviously the daughter was there we know the

01:03:48.180 daughter's involved in the situation through the other witness that had that tattoo so even though

01:03:51.860 there's some corroboration um a witness like this typically isn't the best but to get criminals in

01:03:59.620 prison you have to talk to criminals that are also involved in the life to get the insight so it's kind

01:04:04.660 of a double-edged sword that police have to deal with when talking with cooperators witnesses source of

01:04:10.180 information etc yes we have no doubt that his statement was accurate his details were such that

01:04:17.860 it's unquestionable that roy yancey killed marie parker i was told not to tell anybody anything or i was

01:04:25.540 going to be killed and thrown in a ditch and who told you that i did 0.94

01:04:34.020 if roy yancey could take the police to marie parker's body they'd finally have the evidence to link

01:04:39.220 parker array to murder let's see what they find david and roy according to roy yancey took the body

01:04:47.140 out to a remote location in the desert rolled it down a ravine covered it up with a little bit of

01:04:51.540 dirt and then drove back and roy was very specific and detailed about the location where this happened

01:04:56.980 he remembered he said pretty well where this was we felt that if we were able to locate this body

01:05:05.460 it was going to be a domino effect and soon this was going to lead to more and more and more

01:05:14.020 we spent the better part of a week with roy yancey going to several different locations we had

01:05:20.420 40 people out looking in these areas we had helicopters out looking in these areas and still

01:05:25.540 we we weren't able to recover a body and roy's i guess hypothesis which seems to be credible and makes

01:05:31.460 sense is that david returned to that location after the body had been disposed of and relocated it

01:05:40.900 well for all the self-snitching he made one smart move right there

01:05:45.940 yet again david parker ray had been meticulous in avoiding detection

01:05:51.380 we spent a great deal of time chasing an intelligent man who was well versed in what he was doing it's

01:05:57.300 interesting how he took such crazy steps to cover his tracks in the outside world but took none of

01:06:02.580 those those very steps to protect himself within the confinements of the toy box very interesting

01:06:09.140 and and certainly able to cover his tracks very effectively we were always one step behind him

01:06:17.060 there's thousands upon thousands of deep narrow ravines nooks and crannies and where do you look

01:06:24.580 we could be standing above her right now and and fyi guys so them not finding the body actually hurts

01:06:31.460 them and the reason why guys is like when you're doing a criminal case anything that um the police

01:06:36.660 that uh anything that the police find that's exculpatory meaning it's evidence that can actually

01:06:41.060 be used in the defense's favor must be turned over so the fact that they had this witness that's

01:06:45.780 cooperating and then he tells them oh i know where the body's at he takes them out there the bodies

01:06:50.020 aren't there even though there's a good uh inclination that david parker ray moved the bodies

01:06:55.460 it still hurts that witness's credibility you know significantly by the way because now the defense

01:07:00.260 can hold on to and be like well listen you have this witness he committed the murder allegedly but

01:07:04.340 you tell me he can't even take you to where the body is so something like this actually hurts the

01:07:09.620 prosecution because they have to turn this over and it's a tally mark in the w column for the defense

01:07:14.420 creates that reasonable doubt that i keep telling you guys about never know it and i often wonder

01:07:21.540 how close did we actually come to to her or some of the victims during the course of this

01:07:27.220 roy yancey pleaded guilty to second degree murder and was sentenced to 20 years

01:07:33.380 but david parker ray maintained his innocence and without marie parker's body murder charges could

01:07:38.820 not be brought against him it's extremely frustrating to know that he's committed murders and yet you

01:07:44.900 not have sufficient evidence to bring this matter to a resolution in a court of law but the fact that

01:07:50.340 we couldn't prosecute him for murder made it all the more important that we successfully prosecuted

01:07:55.060 him for the rape tortures and kidnappings that we could prove in court that he did so now you guys

01:08:01.140 know you can see why the prosecution was so careful to not indict and prosecute this thing until they

01:08:06.820 felt that they can 100 convict them because you don't want someone like this to beat the case

01:08:10.500 and be on the loose forever so you know i applaud the prosecution for taking their time though it kind

01:08:15.860 of sucks because other victims can be caught um to make this thing is like nice and tight and they can 0.93

01:08:21.700 maximize it the trial of david parker ray began on the 29th of june 2000. 0.97

01:08:31.220 his fate now lay entirely in the hands of kelly van cleeve despite her patchy memory she would have

01:08:40.660 to convince a jury that he had kidnapped and sexually tortured her

01:08:43.940 i didn't want to go to court i didn't want to have to go face him but i did it he couldn't hey chat

01:08:55.860 what do you guys think the verdict is going to be from this trial start start putting in the

01:08:59.380 chat right now what you guys think is going to be the outcome here be out on the streets any longer

01:09:04.420 i had to do it because i had to do what i could guilty or not guilty but to save other women

01:09:21.060 as kelly took the stand parker look at him he has such an innocent looking demeanor you know

01:09:25.700 he could pass as anybody's grandpa man let alone you know you find out that this dude is responsible

01:09:32.100 for a hundred thousand dollar trailer playing cassette tapes 10 years old to torture his 0.98

01:09:35.860 victims and has damn near every tool he needs to uh torture women sexually crazy world we're in this

01:09:41.780 guy reminds me kind of like ted bunny ted bunny was the same way he looked really cool and normal 0.92

01:09:46.420 law student well-spoken etc you know no one's like did this guy really do it so a lot of times these

01:09:52.980 serial killers look just like average regular people man ray was just feet away it was the

01:09:58.580 first time she'd seen him since her captivity he was just sitting there with a smug look on his face

01:10:05.700 and it pissed me off he acted like he was totally innocent and he had done nothing wrong

01:10:23.300 i didn't want to cry and let him know how much he hurt me

01:10:27.380 i didn't want to be his victim

01:10:34.500 that was difficult

01:10:38.580 kelly explained what she could of her ordeal in the toy box but under cross-examination she was

01:10:44.100 attacked rigorously i remember guys cross-examination is when the opposite side

01:10:50.420 asks you questions so she's the prosecution's witness she's kind of given her testimony

01:10:54.740 then the defense comes in and starts confronting her on all kinds of things you know and remember

01:11:00.660 it's the defense's job to create a little bit of reasonable doubt so a lot of times what defense

01:11:04.500 attorneys will do will kind of come in ask you questions that not necessarily always all the way

01:11:09.220 pertinent but it'll hurt you i'll give an example it's not uncommon for a defense attorney to get you

01:11:14.500 understand like is it not true that you've lied on several occasions in your life uh well i guess you

01:11:21.620 know i might have lied to my parents about a party one time or whatever but no no that's have you

01:11:26.340 lied and then you know yes or no and you're like uh yes and they do that on purpose because all the

01:11:33.220 jury can hear is like have you lied before and you're saying yes to it even though the context isn't

01:11:37.780 necessarily there the fact that you said yes to a lie sticks in the head of the jurors right so

01:11:44.500 that's a defense tactic to kind of attack your credibility without necessarily hurting your

01:11:49.620 credibility if that makes sense you guys get what i'm saying because everyone's lied before

01:11:53.620 but they frame it in a way where you're evil if you've lied ever right so that's the defense job

01:11:59.860 man smoke and mirrors deflect deflect deflect create reasonable doubt bam the defense point of view

01:12:07.300 has to be in this case that she's not a credible witness and therefore should not be believed

01:12:13.780 because she couldn't remember what happened you sit up there on the stand and wonder

01:12:22.420 are these guys gonna believe me david's story was that she came over quite willingly that they had some 0.96

01:12:29.140 beers and that uh she had consensual sex uh that the the sex became kinkier as she stayed longer and that 0.97

01:12:38.340 uh he uh cleaned her up and sent her home at the end of it just lies i think he did it more to protect

01:12:48.260 himself since she was so close to his daughter and there was no there was no way in a small town like

01:12:54.020 that that they wouldn't have been able to trace it back to his daughter since they were friends

01:12:57.620 i think that and several witnesses saw them leave together that's another thing why i don't think

01:13:02.100 park ray killed this particular woman that was the most difficult part was all the lies that they said

01:13:11.540 i could have faced david without the lies

01:13:17.860 people often do things that they can't live with and so they have to change the way they feel about

01:13:25.780 what happened or the way they report what happened or the way they feel about themselves to account for

01:13:33.140 that behavior the defense's claims that kelly had consented to be in the toy box were contradicted

01:13:40.980 by parker ray himself on the initiation tape that he played his victims told you that tape will come 0.96

01:13:47.380 back to haunt him man you are obviously here against your will you'll be raped thoroughly and repeatedly 0.94

01:13:55.700 in every hole you've got but there was a talk about self-snitching problem kelly could not 0.86

01:14:03.780 remember if parker ray had played the tape to her so the judge ruled it was not relevant the man talk

01:14:11.620 about al judge story was not allowed to hear it the suppression of the audio tape weakened our case

01:14:21.620 because they were not able to hear david's actual planning preparation and his own voice you're going 0.97

01:14:28.580 to be kept like an animal as far as i'm concerned you're a pretty piece of meat your 1.00

01:14:34.740 pussy and asshole is going to get a real workout this was essentially a confession this guy bro 1.00

01:14:41.060 the prosecution did have one more weapon to draw on the video footage of parker ray torturing kelly in 1.00

01:14:53.780 the toy box when you look at the tape you see that there's no evidence of injury because he's not

01:15:09.140 beating her he's touching her gently he caresses her breasts he lightly rubs her stomach he lightly rubs 0.62

01:15:18.340 her arms she was able to sit there and loosen up her joints and the way you would if you'd done 1.00

01:15:23.860 something strenuous and uh that was our interpretation of the tape i knew the defense was going to try to

01:15:30.180 turn everything around on me master deflector but i didn't think that with the tape

01:15:39.380 i figured everybody would know

01:15:43.060 everybody could see i wasn't there willingly yeah well common senses are so common man

01:15:50.260 almost 50 of the u.s population reads below his sixth grade level man crazy stuff

01:15:56.100 after a two-week trial the jury retired to consider whether kelly's testimony was enough to lock up

01:16:05.140 parker ray for life kelly's the one who let's see what the verdict is guys you can vote earlier let's see

01:16:11.540 the jury has to believe in order for them to return a guilty verdict i didn't think there was going to be

01:16:17.700 any way that a jury would come back with a not guilty verdict in this when they finally made a decision

01:16:24.580 and everybody got back to the courtroom i knew it was going to be a guilty verdict

01:16:33.220 it had to have been a guilty verdict

01:16:42.580 they fooled me

01:16:46.580 the judge required a unanimous decision and on july the 13th 2000 the jury announced the verdict

01:16:52.820 some jurors did not believe kelly's testimony so parker ray could not be convicted it was a hung jury

01:17:07.860 so what's uh next from here you guys gonna see when they came back with a hung jury verdict

01:17:13.460 the decision was made to retry the case this time with a different jury and a different judge

01:17:26.580 i didn't want to go through court again

01:17:29.140 but i had to he was not gonna hurt anybody else

01:17:38.420 nine months after the first trial ended the retrial got underway in a boost to the prosecution the new

01:17:45.620 judge decided that parker's initiation tape was relevant and keep in mind guys that double jeopardy

01:17:50.900 only comes into play if you were found innocent not necessarily if the um there was a mistrial

01:17:57.140 of them to the case and allowed it to be heard parker ray's voice filled the courtroom 0.99

01:18:04.660 so the second judge clearly has some common sense w judge hello there bitch 1.00

01:18:11.940 you probably think you're gonna be raped and you're fucking sure right about that i remember hearing his 1.00

01:18:18.180 voice and it sends shivers down my spine you're not gonna remember a fucking thing about this little 1.00

01:18:25.940 adventure it was like you could cut through the air with a knife as far as i'm concerned you're a pretty 0.99

01:18:35.860 piece of meat be smart and be a survivor

01:18:43.300 have a nice day

01:18:46.660 the audio tape was a crucial piece of evidence but everything rested on kelly's testimony

01:18:52.260 for parker ray to be found guilty kelly would have to take the stand once again

01:18:56.900 and convince the entire jury that she had been kidnapped and tortured i was vulnerable i was scared

01:19:07.620 but i was angry that he got away with the first one

01:19:12.020 was he gonna get away with the second one the police believe that david parker ray was a serial killer

01:19:23.380 but as no bodies had been found he couldn't be charged with murder

01:19:27.940 instead he had been tried for the kidnap rape and torture of kelly van cleeve

01:19:32.820 but at the first trial the jury had been unable to agree unanimously that he was guilty

01:19:39.700 at the retrial once again everything rested on kelly

01:19:43.620 unless her testimony was believed by the entire jury the charges against parker ray could be dropped

01:19:50.500 it's very difficult to tell people you don't know 0.96

01:19:52.740 intimate things sexual things about your life we tested her credibility in the fire that sucks that 0.91

01:20:07.380 she has to go through trial twice man imagine like reliving that horror two times in front of everybody

01:20:13.700 fire of cross-examination and trial twice her life must have been hell

01:20:21.140 i think it was harder the second time than it was the first time because i had already been there

01:20:29.300 i already had to tell my my story to

01:20:33.860 thousands of people i didn't know

01:20:40.660 and that first jury didn't believe me on april the 16th 2001 after a week-long trial

01:20:48.260 the jury retired to consider what they'd heard it took them just five hours to reach a unanimous verdict 0.97

01:20:55.300 i was bam got him gotcha bitch sweating finally i didn't know what they were gonna say 1.00

01:21:05.700 i had no idea 0.99

01:21:06.500 we got guilty

01:21:17.460 and he got 224 years in prison

01:21:20.900 a w

01:21:21.860 and we partied

01:21:29.700 she probably remember that night either the night she was with him and then the night after he got

01:21:35.780 convicted two blackout nights

01:21:41.300 do you believe kelly's version of events was true oh this is going to be hilarious this is the defense

01:21:45.300 attorney that defended uh david parker let's see what he says

01:21:48.020 oh so the question is whether i believe that she was abducted by the ray family and held captive

01:21:57.300 and uh and raped and tortured yeah i believe it

01:22:07.860 can't make this shut up people 0.93

01:22:09.220 but you're his defense attorney you seem to be saying that your client is guilty

01:22:21.060 i do seem to be saying that don't i but here's the important distinction guys

01:22:26.820 it's not his job to know if the client is guilty and convey that his job is to convince you that he's

01:22:34.100 not guilty and convey that that's what a defense attorney does

01:22:41.380 oh man just hilarious to hear from him though obviously at this point

01:22:45.460 you know the case was done more than likely david parker was i think dead by this point because

01:22:50.180 you guys know he died in the early 2000s but uh it just goes to show you know how convincing

01:22:54.340 the evidence actually was i mean the dude self-admitted on a freaking cassette tape 0.95

01:22:58.660 on some jigsaw type crap

01:23:00.180 in a deal with the prosecution david parker ray gave up his right to appeal

01:23:07.220 in return his daughter jesse was released without trial for her role in kelly's abduction

01:23:12.980 that's the only noble thing he did was protect his daughter that he had put into this life in the first

01:23:17.300 place i knew that not everybody i would ever defend would be innocent i knew that some of the people

01:23:28.260 that i represented would be truly bad people and this is kind of like the the morale issue that

01:23:36.820 defense attorneys kind of tackle every day nine out of ten times dude you know your client's guilty

01:23:42.260 like you just know it you know you had to bet your life you would absolutely bet that they were guilty

01:23:46.580 but that's not their job their job is to be impartial and deflect and create a little bit of reasonable

01:23:51.460 doubt and you know their job is to convince you that hey it might have been someone else my client might

01:23:56.900 be the prime suspect suspect according to police but hey dude this guy looks kind of good too and

01:24:02.340 that's the defense's job and i believe that on the spectrum of people who do not belong in society

01:24:10.340 uh david parker ray is right in there

01:24:15.700 not only did he think he was guilty but he doesn't even think he belongs in society bro

01:24:18.820 well i'll give him credit where it's due he still defended him to the best of his ability

01:24:26.420 and got a mistrial the first time so clearly he was able to do his job to some degree

01:24:30.980 he says david ray part david parker ray died of heart failure soon after the trial

01:24:43.460 well that's what you get man

01:24:52.180 so he had only survived eight months of his sentence

01:24:54.340 was justice done i don't think justice can ever be done in these types of cases

01:25:07.060 yeah he died because before he could fully cooperate which just sucks because we'll never

01:25:11.140 know how many bodies he actually had what david did to these women no amount of punishment to him 0.96

01:25:19.620 can take away what those women have to live with david took too much of me away 0.97

01:25:30.500 i feel like i'm a totally different person

01:25:35.380 i don't go anywhere i don't trust anybody

01:25:42.420 i miss the old me

01:25:43.540 so the last known number we knew according to the fbi guys

01:25:51.220 was 40 victims from several states however no bodies were found so this is the only serial killer

01:25:58.980 guys ever that has no bodies actually attributed to them through conviction

01:26:05.140 which is what makes him so unique and his methodologies the one that used to be wild and crazy and

01:26:16.420 sassy and wasn't scared

01:26:18.980 i would do just about anything to get the old me back

01:26:40.180 i wish he wouldn't have died i want him alive

01:26:43.620 i agree it's better for them to live long i don't even i think the death penalty is kind of an easy way

01:26:49.460 out 0.98

01:26:52.340 i would ask him why why me why did he take me home why didn't he kill me that's his daughter's fault man 0.98

01:27:02.180 i wish he was still alive so he could tell us what happened to all those other girls where he buried them 0.95

01:27:14.180 how he killed them

01:27:17.460 so those other families could have some closure

01:27:19.300 all right so the estimate is he killed more than 30 women

01:27:42.660 nobody's ever found

01:27:43.700 so you guys might be wondering where is uh david parker ray's daughter now and according to google

01:27:51.940 it says hendy now lives in hamilton after serving eight years in new mexico for her involvement

01:27:57.540 hamilton community members expressed frustration and worry on social media about having

01:28:00.900 hendy live close to a local school so uh yeah that's where she's at now and you guys can see here

01:28:07.460 as of you know december 11 2022 she's out of prison at this point and you know her dad

01:28:15.700 um kind of locked that in i guess that's the last honorable thing you could do before he passes away

01:28:20.420 but uh yeah guys that is the toy box killer hope you guys enjoyed that one that one was

01:28:25.140 very well um very much requested and i gotta put this guy up there in the top two or three as far as 0.61

01:28:31.860 like most sadistic individuals um because the extent that he went to carry out this sexual fantasy

01:28:40.180 by far blows every other serial killer out the water when it comes to like meticulousness planning 0.98

01:28:45.860 methodologies investing their own money like this dude is like the freaking

01:28:51.220 bill gates and robert kiyosaki when it comes to serial murders murders like this dude invested heavily

01:28:56.260 and and clearly it paid off you know if it wasn't for that girl that escaped this probably would

01:29:00.020 have never come to light so he he invested in himself and he his girl actually was the one

01:29:05.300 that made the fuck up it wasn't him it was the girl guys and this is how cynthia cynthia actually 0.52

01:29:09.620 escaped but i wish this um documentary went into a little bit more detail but she ended up stabbing his 1.00

01:29:15.700 wife or his girl uh aka cindy with like an ice pick and running away so yeah that small lapse 0.98

01:29:25.380 in judgment just like she had that small lapse when uh parker ray's girl said cindy she was able to

01:29:31.860 capitalize and get out of there and shine a lot on this dude but yeah man definitely one of the most

01:29:37.140 methodical so hope you guys enjoyed that video man um i'm gonna catch you guys on the next episode of
