00:11:38.940 is, of course, Marwan Barghouti's name, who's seen as a big unifier.

00:11:42.820 Does that also perhaps send off some alarm bells as to whether Israel is truly committed to peace in the future,

00:11:49.500 because he's seen as a unifier of all the Palestinians?

00:11:55.500 And I think Marwan Barghouti has been consistently at the top of all Palestinian surveys

00:12:00.480 when it comes to public opinion, something that's really surprising for many,

00:12:10.580 I think it's very important to understand that for Benjamin Netanyahu,

00:12:14.740 it has been never about having a peace agreement.

00:12:18.040 Many people argue that Marwan Barghouti could be a very solid Palestinian leader

00:12:23.380 that could push for a more inclusive approach on the Palestinian side,

00:12:29.040 a more unifying approach from the perspective of the Palestinian leadership,

00:12:32.460 that would, of course, provide more legitimacy to the steps that the Palestinian leadership

00:12:36.760 would like to take.

00:12:38.740 I don't think Netanyahu is interested in that.

00:12:40.760 Netanyahu is someone who invested heavily on Palestinian division,

00:12:44.000 not just between Fatah and Hamas, but also from within.

00:12:56.720 Now, it's also important to understand that for many Palestinians,

00:13:11.960 Xavier, looking ahead, one of the statements that's coming out was Hamas's armed wing,

00:13:17.960 saying that it is committed to the ceasefire agreement as long as the timeline,

00:13:22.160 even if this timeline is long, as Israel adheres to their side of the deal here.

00:13:28.940 It's that side of the deal that people are concerned about.

00:13:31.860 Ultimately, also, and this is the armed wing talking, they have to disarm.

00:13:36.120 And that's something that actually Hamas has been quite reluctant and vague about.

00:16:59.200 The destruction in Gaza is massive, and the international public opinion and international

00:23:50.520 Just to reiterate on this, twenty Israeli men are expected to be handed over to the Red Cross.

00:24:15.160 Many accuse Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of blocking a deal for a ceasefire and return of those captives for his own political gain.

00:26:15.820 Now, what we know is there are at least 1,700 Palestinians that are going to be freed today.

00:26:23.120 And these were the Palestinians that were either arrested or missing since the 7th of October, 2023.
