00:03:18.700 racket known as the French connection. These French laboratories were supplying America with so much of

00:03:26.460 the drug that the bus led to a heroin famine on the streets. What nobody knew was that this success

00:03:36.340 would lead to disaster. Shutting down the French connection was indirectly opening the door to 0.96

00:03:42.160 something every bit as dangerous. The Sicilian mafia. In the coming years, they would fill the gap in the

00:03:50.860 market and forge a relationship with the most feared mafioso in America, Carmine Galante.

00:03:58.720 In 1974, two years after the French connection was busted, Carmine Galante walked out of prison,
