00:00:00.000 welcome to the podcast it's pat and stew in for glenn uh today on the glenn beck program
00:00:04.240 today we're going to talk a little bit about uh the the lack of hypocrisy in any way from
00:00:11.480 these politicians who just wind up telling you to stay in your home and then they go out and
00:00:16.040 have all sorts of fancy dinners and vacations well it's not hypocrisy because they can do what
00:00:20.980 they want yeah they're better than us they're better than we are yep that's the bottom line
00:00:24.320 much better than we are and they know better they know what we should do but they're not subject to
00:00:29.420 the same rules why should they be why should they're elite thank you pat yeah we also have
00:00:33.940 the staten island pub owner who uh they try to turn their pub into an autonomous zone so they
00:00:38.340 could stay open during covid uh they have a nice little message for andrew cuomo i think you're
00:00:41.980 going to enjoy and should you not vote for republican senate candidates in georgia because you're upset
00:00:47.320 about the election results in the presidential race uh a couple of attorneys are arguing this one of
00:00:53.640 which is a shockingly a prominent democrat who's been donating to democrats for a very long time
00:00:59.320 uh now he suddenly has come to see the light on trump but the way he's doing that is by encouraging
00:01:06.540 democrats to control the senate and the entire government it's a strange choice um make sure you
00:01:11.860 uh subscribe to pat gray unleashed on this uh if you're on your podcast right now click on over
00:01:15.940 search for pat gray unleashed make sure you subscribe to that podcast as well as stew does america
00:01:20.080 and let me tell you for the holidays we've got an incredible incredible gift for any annoying
00:01:25.560 liberal or conservative that you happen to love uh santifa clause the combination of santa claus and
00:01:31.540 antifa he's here from the north pole autonomous zone to save you you can get him at santifaclaws.com
00:01:38.140 on mugs and t-shirts and everything else also there's another one i think you'll like which is a uh
00:01:42.940 a cityscape on fire cities on fire christmas tree on fire and on the top it says it's not a riot
00:01:49.520 it's just a mostly peaceful tree lighting don't worry about it no big deal uh you can get that all
00:01:55.060 at stewdoesmerch.com uh make sure you to uh check it out and enjoy the podcast
00:01:59.840 you're listening to the best of the glenbeck program
00:02:10.600 uh you know what's great is the incredible consist consistency of these uh democrats who
00:02:19.520 tell us yeah you know you got to be careful we're just trying to save your life tell me more because
00:02:24.520 i haven't noticed uh consistency really but yeah i you know being a conservative maybe i'm just
00:02:29.760 judging them i think i think that's what's happening stew quite honestly thank you for being
00:02:33.620 open to that possibility yeah it could just be partisan hatred yeah i think that's i think that's
00:02:38.800 clearly what it is uh you're a hater and these are plus my magic muffins are done we just heard
00:02:45.060 that okay um they uh uh they know better than we do right and they're just they're just trying to
00:02:52.000 help us out so they're not subject to the same kind of rules that we are you know we're just we're
00:02:58.900 sheep or cattle and and they're the herders they're the ranchers and they just show us where to go and
00:03:05.160 what to do and what not to do but they don't have to do that it's like for instance it's like a
00:03:12.200 like a rancher who herds a bunch of cattle into you know a fenced off area yeah well you don't expect
00:03:19.020 the rancher to stay there with them do you no they're gonna move in they don't live outside
00:03:24.420 they don't live outside uh with the cattle that's ridiculous to expect that of them eating hay and
00:03:30.600 pooping in the grass that's not what their job is that's exactly right so when they tell you not to
00:03:36.680 go anywhere but they're taking vacations to cabo you should understand that they're better they're
00:03:43.300 better than you right and that's the thing i think people don't understand they think hey maybe we
00:03:49.100 should have the same rules and live by the same rules but why would we have the same rules as our
00:03:52.460 betters exactly it doesn't make any sense they're better than us we're not we're zeros why would we
00:03:58.660 have the same rules as these heroes thank you are the cattle yelling at the rancher as he's going back
00:04:03.700 to his beautiful home hey why are you in here with us no they're not no they're not saying that
00:04:09.240 that's all they say and who knows what that means i mean it could mean hey why are you going back to
00:04:14.380 that nice house instead of staying out here with us i guess i i guess i don't speak i doubt i doubt it
00:04:19.780 because they know better they know they're stupid and the rancher is smart and knows what's best for
00:04:23.840 them so for instance when a when the mayor of austin goes to cabo san lucas on vacation and then
00:04:31.100 everybody finds out about it good for him good for him good for him that's what i say good for him
00:04:35.560 that's right that's great i hope he had a great time i do too yeah i do too because you know how hard
00:04:41.120 he works and you know how smart he is and how he's looking out for everybody else and he's just telling
00:04:46.220 you you need to stay in your home you stay put but i can go wherever i want it's a good thing and
00:04:51.700 especially you can go to a country that has it's not even attempting to stop coronavirus like they're
00:04:56.460 not they're not even trying they're not even they're not even saying like hey yeah you guys
00:05:00.680 should stay a few feet apart they're basically just just letting it roll they actually invite
00:05:06.040 people to bathe in baths of covid 19 that's true yeah it's in the salsa down there now they when
00:05:13.720 they make the salsa they mix in a little covid 19 right just to give that extra little tang yeah
00:05:18.580 uh-huh yeah they want everybody to have it it's fun it's fun it's basically their response
00:05:23.800 but go ahead take a vacation vacation to cabo we appreciate that that's fantastic and i love it then
00:05:29.860 when it comes out oh i apologize like you know everything the conditions were completely different
00:05:33.940 for me and as they are for you now and and i was fine doing that but i'm sorry that you found out
00:05:39.680 about it i'm basically what he said but yeah that is basically what he said and but that's okay
00:05:45.160 because he that's okay because he knows better than us yes right thank you for noticing if he's a
00:05:50.000 better person than us he gets to do more things than us if he's more important than us he gets to
00:05:54.780 take more important extravagant vacations and we shouldn't be able to take them because we're less
00:05:59.440 we're lesser thank you he's better we're lesser yes i don't understand that simple are people
00:06:05.460 what don't you understand about it i wish i really want that press conference from one of
00:06:12.000 these guys yeah i want gavin newson to come out and go look do you know who i am yeah you do do i
00:06:17.740 know who you are no i get to go to the restaurants you don't right when you start knowing when we when
00:06:23.480 we all start thinking about what bill is doing on a daily basis then bill can start going to the
00:06:29.120 fancy restaurants too until then i'm the governor i'm going to the restaurants screw you that's what i
00:06:34.060 would like to hear i actually want them to just tell us that kind of honesty would be refreshing
00:06:38.840 it would wouldn't it i i think i might vote for him in that in that circumstance if someone comes
00:06:43.380 out and gives that press conference they have my vote i'm all about it uh the l the mayor of los
00:06:49.480 angeles eric garcetti yeah eric garcetti is telling everybody what's in their best interest uh here's
00:06:55.300 what he has to say about what's coming up for the holidays so tonight i want to speak as always to
00:07:00.620 you candidly oh good good with the truths and the statistics that i get as soon as i get them
00:07:06.300 to share them with you and to know what we can do in the coming days it's as much what you choose
00:07:12.880 not to do as what you do do determine what happens here in our beloved hometown the choices between us
00:07:20.820 are stark between health and sickness between care and apathy and yes between life and death and yes
00:07:30.720 for too many of the people that we love my message couldn't be simpler oh no it's time to hunker down
00:07:37.140 there you go it's time to cancel everything and if it isn't essential don't do it uh-huh don't meet
00:07:44.500 up with others outside your household right don't host a gathering don't attend a gathering don't
00:07:50.440 and following our targeted safer at home order if you're able to stay home stay home
00:07:57.320 that's that's important it's important and the the uh the order is a little confusing to the people
00:08:04.860 of los angeles uh while there were new restrictions and allowable activities mirror those issued by los
00:08:12.460 angeles county last week so they're the same he's just saying them again okay i guess with more
00:08:17.780 intensity i don't know uh the language and messaging is far stronger than before uh this is not an
00:08:23.900 absolute lockdown however as the order spells out a variety of exceptions oh cancel everything has
00:08:30.240 has some exceptions like for everything he doesn't mean everything no not everything obviously not
00:08:35.640 everything right um let's say uh the exceptions still allow people to conduct business such as buying
00:08:41.200 food okay all right obtaining medical care okay yeah and going to other essential businesses like
00:08:47.440 automobile services okay all right it's a little bit maybe all right okay but sure your car if your
00:08:53.020 car breaks down you get you got to get it fixed and then other uh essential services like film
00:08:57.540 production well you can't live without movies right they gotta go out now there's no theaters to show
00:09:03.100 them in but you gotta keep producing those movies they're being produced is enough for me yeah i i really
00:09:09.140 feel good about that i feel safer knowing that hollywood is making movies and and and we should
00:09:14.200 also point out obviously many of the city's recreational activities remain open such as beaches parks and
00:09:20.760 public golf courses because golf is among it's essential the most essential yeah especially for people who
00:09:27.540 are our betters they need to be able to play golf so they have to have that available now if you like
00:09:33.020 something like loser sport well then no of course i mean they're kicking the san francisco 49ers out of the
00:09:37.640 state they can't even play their home games anymore but luckily executives can go play golf and that's
00:09:43.980 what's important it is people don't realize covid is different for people of a certain status those people
00:09:54.260 should be able to go and do the things they should they can assess their own risk they can take care of
00:09:59.620 their own lives can you no who are you nobody who are we we're no ones yes we are nobodies so we don't
00:10:07.460 get to make those decisions we don't get to judge our own risk they do for they can do it for us that's
00:10:12.700 why they're so great pat they can not only do it for themselves but then they can do it for us too
00:10:18.220 yeah what great people they are to tell us all the things that that we can we can do on our own
00:10:24.100 or not do or not do it's really comforting is what it is it's comforting to have somebody
00:10:28.500 looking out for us like that because we're so stupid you know we're so butt stupid we can't figure
00:10:35.420 out what to do on our own we need eric garcetti or gavin newsom to tell us and gavin newsom look did
00:10:42.800 he go to a fancy dinner yes sure were there a lot of people there yes were those people members of the
00:10:50.360 upper echelon of the public health uh uh yes uh group there in in california sure should they
00:10:56.820 socially distance no no did they don't need did i do it outside at least no no they did not they
00:11:02.120 don't need to they don't need to they're them you're you get it get it through your head they
00:11:06.360 needn't even explain it to us no really we're fortunate that once in a while they'll condescend
00:11:12.340 to our level and tell us why they've done it i believe it was the mayor of san francisco for
00:11:17.260 example that also went to that same restaurant you know the same the french laundry yes which is
00:11:22.780 you know yeah hundreds and hundreds of dollars per plate at least yeah uh but hey good for them
00:11:29.660 i feel i'm happy they're enjoying their lives that's what i come out of this with i don't think
00:11:35.440 about hey maybe i should be able to do things too or maybe i should be able to make my own decisions i
00:11:39.080 never think that would be selfish that's selfish what i think of is thank god these public servants
00:11:44.720 are able to go to these hundred dollar three hundred four hundred dollar a dinner uh plate
00:11:49.980 dinners and fancy restaurants and gather with their friends in close quarters indoors i'm glad
00:11:56.220 they're able to do that so they can relieve the stress of their jobs because you know how stressful
00:12:01.320 it is to tell an entire populace they can't leave their homes no i don't know how stressful it is
00:12:06.440 that's exactly i can't relate to them because they're so much better than i am so i what do i know
00:12:11.460 you're you nothing they're them get it through your head right right thank god we can't be expected
00:12:18.840 they can't be expected to do what we have to do no it's just silly to even think of that you know
00:12:25.000 what's amazing is that it's become so obvious now that this is what they believe everything we've just
00:12:31.100 outlined even cnn has noticed it and called it out a number of democratic leaders apologizing or
00:12:39.340 reversing course after multiple occurrences of do as i say not as i do they have been caught not
00:12:45.280 following their own coronavirus guidelines the past few weeks brought into relief a pattern of leaders
00:12:51.720 failing to lead by example asking americans to make sacrifices that they themselves are unwilling to make
00:12:58.940 and appearing sorry only when they're caught trust is built slowly but it evaporates faster than
00:13:04.780 reservations at a fancy restaurant a lot of these leaders they are looking across the aisle to blame
00:13:10.240 republicans who aren't taking mask wearing seriously but maybe it's time they also look in the mirror
00:13:15.200 no and ask themselves if that amuse-bouche was really worth it wow i will say if i was going to hear
00:13:22.760 this segment i would not have expected to see it on cnn no way and i will say if i was going to see it
00:13:28.800 on cnn i would not have expected it from brianna keeler but no good job i mean that's yes how about
00:13:33.820 that thank god somebody is stepping up and saying that type of thing because it's so typical of the
00:13:39.620 media to just ignore it yeah i mean they've been doing a great job of it so far they didn't even get
00:13:45.920 on uh lori lightfoot when she told everybody not to go to beauty salons and then that day she went to
00:13:52.000 a beauty salon her explanation was wealth i care about my hygiene oh unlike the unwashed masses right
00:14:00.840 why would someone who i mean these peons of society do they care about washing their face and cutting
00:14:08.660 their hair no they don't care if they look like slobs and they do these people there's these people
00:14:13.900 walking around in the in public they're all just just embarrassing and dirty they're like pig pen
00:14:20.320 from charlie brown they're walking around there's a cloud of dust around all of them okay that's
00:14:24.920 what these these peons do exactly but not lori lightfoot who no she cares i mean if there's
00:14:31.040 anything lori lightfoot has going on it's a fantastic appearance
00:14:34.360 that's a really good observation on your part stew thank you a really good she is just a really
00:14:43.220 attractive person yes and she has to maintain that at all times she's not the strangest looking
00:14:49.100 person i've seen in my life no no with bug eyes no she's not no she's not no she doesn't look like
00:14:54.360 a muppet to me not not at all that's why i'm happy she's always able to groom herself as needed
00:15:01.840 again it's comforting yeah to me to know that she can do that thank you uh even though we can't
00:15:07.700 let's go to matt in texas hey matt you're on the glen beck program with pat and stew
00:15:21.300 hey pat and stew first of all welcome to texas man we're proud to have you
00:15:26.720 glad to have you thank you um hey and here's the thing i have this whole mass thing i haven't
00:15:32.060 understood from day one because it seems so simple it's such a missed opportunity why didn't they just
00:15:37.280 make it a patriotic thing from the very beginning just blame the entire thing on communist china not
00:15:44.720 not the chinese people but communist china apparently cnn would have been upset until today
00:15:48.660 obviously um but just blame that because you have people who are motivated by safety first and then
00:15:55.780 you have the people like us the entrepreneurs and whatnot who aren't motivated quite the same way
00:15:59.500 or motivated by other things so the people who are motivated by safety they're going to wear the mask
00:16:04.280 they're going to wear the mask but if you make it a patriotic thing and you say hey let's show the
00:16:08.420 rest of the world what the free of the freest country can do no new rules no new mandates we're not
00:16:14.940 going to tell you what to do we're going to ask you nicely if you love your fellow american if you
00:16:19.260 want to look out for your older veterans and older citizens then go ahead and do this wear this mask
00:16:23.680 because we don't have all the facts but here's what we do know what you'll know what you'll find if
00:16:27.140 you ask people nicely because trust me i grew up with the reddest of rednecks in texas and if you
00:16:31.580 ask rednecks nicely to do something yeah you'll be amazed they'll be the ones walking in the store
00:16:36.940 like yeah they'll be like hey buddy i see you don't have a mask man don't you love your fellow american
00:16:40.980 i got one in the car man it's nice my mama made it you'll be amazed at how people will go out of
00:16:49.060 their way to take care and look out for their fellow american when you just ask them and leave
00:16:53.460 it up to the goodwill of people probably right i think appreciate it thanks matt certainly a much
00:16:57.980 better approach and also i will say uh something that the media could not allow to happen because
00:17:02.900 donald trump was saying china was at fault here and they couldn't agree with it until now now
00:17:08.800 there's there's releasing information of you know they're finding documents and all this wonderful
00:17:12.820 journalism is being done about how bad china was at the beginning of this even though look dr burks
00:17:19.280 was saying that from the beginning that they were that china withholding information changed the way we
00:17:27.000 responded to the virus right we didn't think it was a big deal because china was telling us it wasn't
00:17:32.500 i think the problem with that though is that the drive to make everybody wear a mask uh was it was
00:17:41.220 driven by democrats and patriotism is the furthest thing from the mind of a democrat exactly and the
00:17:48.500 left couldn't even acknowledge it yeah they can't they don't acknowledge it they don't think that way
00:17:53.500 at all you see bits and pieces of this of of a good response in the way that they're doing this
00:17:59.840 every once in a while like there were places that were saying you know what a good place a good
00:18:04.660 thing for you to do in this time when things are closed times are tough go out to a park go out to
00:18:09.500 a beach stay away from people while you're there but you know be outside do things outside you know
00:18:14.780 if you're going to have a church service do it outside enjoy the great weather when you have the
00:18:18.580 great weather those sorts of messages would have been good what they what they did yesterday the cdc
00:18:23.380 yesterday was was also i think a good step which is they shortened the quarantine time i went
00:18:29.660 through the quarantine which i had to do 10 days uh of quarantine uh and now they're saying 7 to 10
00:18:35.940 right now they're saying it's down to 7 for what i i would have had 7 they cut it from 10 to 7 and
00:18:40.520 they cut it from 14 to 10 for the other type of quarantine the bottom line with that though is
00:18:45.440 what was happening and i will tell you personal experience here this is true that people don't
00:18:52.600 go get tested because they don't want to deal with the quarantine so they don't want to know
00:18:58.640 that they haven't we talked to people because we were in contact with people we had to call them we
00:19:02.780 had to say hey sorry we got it like you should probably go get tested or whatever um we're supposed
00:19:07.640 to tell everybody that we know or have ever passed in a hallway and uh what the some people were like
00:19:13.580 okay yeah go get tested but there was a decent amount of pushback on just like oh god don't tell me
00:19:18.200 that i don't my my we had people who telling us hey well my my uh son has got a football game and i
00:19:24.920 don't want him to miss that and my mom's coming into town it's like that's the exact time you want
00:19:31.500 to get tested right like before your mom who's likely elderly is coming into town you probably want
00:19:37.360 to know if you have covid but it's look it is completely disruptive but i honestly think if people
00:19:43.660 would just do what the caller was talking about and just be like look you know let's let's do the
00:19:48.020 best that we can we can't shut down society and when you try to tell people restrict yourself out
00:19:52.940 of this problem just sacrifice all of your life until we get this under control that is not a message
00:20:00.560 that's going to connect with anybody because even in these places where they have the strict mandates
00:20:06.480 they're not being followed they're not being followed people went into quarantine before the
00:20:13.600 mandates started because they were afraid of what was going on and they came out of the quarantine
00:20:17.780 before they ended because they were done with it if you can if you if you can actually take a moment
00:20:23.800 and communicate reliable information consistently without haranguing people you can get some good
00:20:31.640 results but they they've been incapable of doing that from the beginning the media can't do anything
00:20:38.080 but say you know what if you don't do everything that we say in the order that we say it it's because
00:20:44.440 you like donald trump and you're a racist and you don't care about old people you're killing grandma
00:20:48.540 and this has been a terrible approach not only because it's not true and not only because it is just an
00:20:55.640 awful thing to do to your fellow person but also because it's not effective in any way it doesn't work
00:21:01.020 people don't listen to it yeah they don't trust us they don't trust us enough to believe the best
00:21:07.040 about us that we would do what we can uh to avoid infecting anybody especially the most vulnerable
00:21:13.520 among us and if they would have yes in the beginning said look let's protect the most vulnerable among us
00:21:18.640 and let's make sure that those uh who are really in danger here don't get infected and the rest of
00:21:26.960 you just act responsibly yeah i think that would have been received really well i think
00:21:31.000 and we'd be way further ahead of the game than we are who's going to connect with that message
00:21:35.560 the caller brought it up in terms of patriotism but i would also argue like it's a message that
00:21:40.580 would connect with people of faith right to say like you know look i understand this is annoying
00:21:44.580 but can you sacrifice for other people like that is a christian conservative message that's that's not
00:21:51.020 a liberal message that is a christian conservative message and instead they were like no we are
00:21:57.000 welding you in your garage and that is not going to help it makes people you even pointed this out
00:22:02.220 with a vaccine if they mandate it people are going to be i don't want to take it less likely to take
00:22:06.160 it yeah and they're going to do it anyway because they want to push you around and force people and
00:22:10.460 they don't trust us Andrew cuomo will do it anyway yeah he will because he doesn't i mean it's not
00:22:15.460 about how many people get the virus or how people feel it's about andrew cuomo making sure he gets a lot
00:22:20.920 of books sold and acting like he can go on these press conferences and get praised by the media
00:22:25.860 and people need to call that out there's been a lot of places i mean look at florida florida has done
00:22:31.700 uh really well in comparison to places like new york and has had some of the least restrictive rules
00:22:38.380 but i think desantis has treated his populace like adults he said look this is real these are real
00:22:46.040 problems we have a lot of vulnerable people in florida a lot of elderly people in florida their death
00:22:50.500 rate should be really high but he said look go out there we're going to keep things open i mean it's
00:22:56.380 i believe they're at 100 capacity now you can even like in stadiums and stuff now the stadiums are
00:23:03.220 choosing themselves to to hold back capacity but yeah but you you notice the games that are played
00:23:09.260 in florida if you watch college football uh the games that are played in florida are much higher
00:23:16.040 attended than anywhere else in the country yeah and that's a good sign for the super bowl which is
00:23:20.900 also happened to be being played in tampa this year uh but it is uh it is wow are you planning to go
00:23:26.840 are you trying to not only already have my ticket oh you do which i bought i believe in april oh wow i
00:23:31.800 was like screw it i'm i'm i'm making this happen i'm willing the super bowl into existence uh but yeah
00:23:37.340 no i i you know i'm all set to go i'm i it's funny i've been doing these polls every couple of months
00:23:42.920 on twitter uh saying do you think the super bowl will be played on the date supposed to be played
00:23:47.420 with a pretty close to full audience and it was i think when i first asked it it was like the summer
00:23:54.020 and people it was like maybe maybe 40 percent of people said no and then it was up to about 80
00:23:59.200 percent of people last time i asked it i should ask it again today to see i mean because i think
00:24:02.640 quite clearly that the nfl is not there's any way they're going to do that they're not going to let
00:24:05.940 the full crowd in there they may have it on the same day yeah it'll probably be played it does seem
00:24:10.480 like they're doing everything i watched a football game between the baltimore ravens and pittsburgh
00:24:14.700 steel last 3 40 p.m on a wednesday so i think they're trying to get that super bowl in on time
00:24:21.360 amazing uh let's go to justin in new york hey justin you're on the glenn glenn beck program with
00:24:26.420 pat and stew oh hey hey go ahead this is where you come in yeah you should try talking now yeah it's
00:24:34.720 pretty cool oh i'm sorry i'm trying i'm trying to get my coat on um so last night i was watching
00:24:40.560 uh tucker carlson and they were and they were saying that um they tested some samples for the
00:24:47.340 american red cross where there was antibodies uh from last march or april way before we were told about
00:24:59.000 this so it would indicate that coronavirus has been in our community or in our country a lot longer
00:25:05.900 than what we thought oh yeah because they had antibodies from people that were tested clear
00:25:10.640 back in march when really that was those were the first cases that happened in the u.s so for people
00:25:16.700 to already have antibodies at that point at that point i see what you're saying yeah well i think it
00:25:20.580 went back to probably december of 2019 it seems to be the current uh some people believe november
00:25:25.700 um but it does seem to be earlier here in the states uh there has been some recent reporting on
00:25:31.460 that um wow but uh that wouldn't i mean i think the first cases came in february right that we knew
00:25:38.900 initially in los angeles maybe there were like very travelers yeah from from china and such uh but they
00:25:45.040 i know it's it's an interesting thing it's tough to really it didn't seem like it was exploding at that
00:25:50.100 time if you look at um if you look at all-cause mortality you see a huge spike in march and april i mean
00:25:55.380 it definitely seems like that's when it really hit but we don't we don't know exactly what i look it's
00:26:00.060 china and and until you know we will find out at some point in like 2060 that china knew way more
00:26:10.320 than we ever knew it's like when you know when when some iron curtain falls and somebody leaks some
00:26:15.000 documents you find out you know decades later with these communist regimes what actually happened
00:26:19.960 we've seen it over and over again with the soviet union as as their um you know their country
00:26:26.760 crumbled we found out all sorts of stuff that we didn't know well china is still claiming 86 000
00:26:32.040 people are infected to this day i mean come on and 4 634 people have died it's absolutely i mean that is
00:26:40.920 asinine no it's not true that can't be it's got to be 10 times a hundred times a thousand times higher
00:26:48.780 than that i when will we know and probably not for a really long probably not for a real long time for
00:26:53.700 a really long time they have a they have a way uh to they seem to be able to just like make people
00:26:58.860 disappear quite often they're like hey did you know they have like a million uyghurs in camps i was
00:27:03.900 like how do we how is that new news how do you get to a million before anyone notices in the year 2020
00:27:08.440 and it's like well you know they just did it they just did it yeah you know when you have control
00:27:13.060 over society it's a lot easier to do these things and look it's also easier to control a freaking
00:27:17.640 virus when you can weld everyone in the garage it is it is when you when you can uh you can basically
00:27:24.260 ruin the lives of anyone who speaks out about it you can hide a lot of cases i mean that's what
00:27:28.780 they did with the doctors who discovered initially this is the best of the glenn beck program and we
00:27:35.900 really want to thank you for listening barack obama you know it's only when he shows his his face
00:27:48.800 again that you think wow that's right uh that this is why i dislike this guy so much with all the
00:27:56.780 intensity of a billion white hot burning suns i dislike this guy uh ever since he he left the white
00:28:03.340 house he's been hinting at the idea that the internet and social media have helped create
00:28:08.060 the single biggest threat to the united states democracy which by the way we're not a democracy
00:28:14.040 but he also uh credits his win back in the day to harnessing social media um and now he is trying to
00:28:25.340 shut down conservative thought on social media even more than it's already being shut down he doesn't
00:28:31.520 think that the twitters and facebooks of the world are doing enough to shut down conservatives he wants
00:28:38.720 being honest i it's just unbelievable to me the fascism of these people and yet it's supposedly
00:28:47.680 republicans who are the fascists we're the ones who want to hear more opinions not less uh but let us
00:28:56.460 at least show our side of the argument um but obama said i don't hold the tech companies entirely
00:29:06.120 responsible because this predates social media it was already there he's talking about i guess the
00:29:12.040 thought that he doesn't think is worthwhile but social media has turbocharged it so he wants them to
00:29:19.600 be more responsible and shut down more opinions on the internet we have to have a serious conversation
00:29:28.020 about what these business models look like the algorithms the mechanisms whereby we can create
00:29:34.680 more of a common conversation that means he wants to hear from people who believe the things he does
00:29:41.800 but he doesn't want to hear from those who don't and that cannot be just a commercially driven
00:29:47.300 conversation so obviously government needs to intervene in these social media giants as well
00:29:53.360 and help them shut down conservatives this could get really bad if we don't stand up to it and it
00:29:59.320 makes no sense especially for public figures and office holders like they keep saying they're gonna
00:30:04.200 they're gonna censor donald trump's tweets and you know sometimes they'll post warnings with them and
00:30:09.900 all these things it's like let's just let's just take this scenario for a second let's say you
00:30:13.740 somebody gets elected let's say donald trump gets elected in 2016 and two years into his
00:30:18.860 administration he just turns into an actual racist and starts just tweeting actually racist things
00:30:24.300 right really like that we'd all agree we're racist let's just say that happened and twitter censors
00:30:29.880 them all because they're racist how do we know who to vote for in 2020 shouldn't we have the
00:30:36.720 information that yes like when a public figure like think of the things the crazy things that
00:30:41.920 ilan omar has said online or aoc has said online do you want those things censored no i don't i want
00:30:49.560 her to be saying those things so that i know who these people are and i know that i don't want them
00:30:55.800 elected right it's not why would i want to hide any any public figures comments of any sort with the
00:31:04.020 exception of illegal activity right i mean obviously if someone's literally threatening threatening
00:31:09.000 someone's lie life or something you know that's a totally different story but when you when you
00:31:12.920 talk about like commentary that you might totally disagree with and think is misleading people i mean
00:31:18.680 like you know if people like on the left will say well donald trump is tweeting these conspiracy
00:31:22.980 theories about the election or conspiracy theories about about um covet or whatever it is well we need
00:31:29.240 that information to judge whether we want him to be president next time right and what he probably runs in
00:31:35.620 2024 right all these things should be out there for us to be able to judge and the idea that twitter
00:31:42.260 facebook should be the arbiters of truth on this is is ridiculous we did a thing on studios america on
00:31:50.480 fact checkers this week and i was just going back for some classic examples and i went back to a
00:31:55.640 politifact fact check of glenn back from you know the obama era and he was talking about john
00:32:02.160 holdren remember the science advisor yeah and how at one time he advocated for forced
00:32:07.200 i think he said proposed uh was his actual word uh forced sterilization and mandatory abortions
00:32:14.300 compulsory abortions right uh glenn got rated pants on fire for that claim now what really pants on fire
00:32:22.280 now you go back and you read the guy's book his own book yeah where he proposes and i went through
00:32:28.120 the dictionary definition of propose exactly what he did proposes for discussion he says just like
00:32:35.240 that uh we should we there needs to be discussion around whether it's you know whether we should
00:32:40.120 have x y and z and goes through those exact proposals that glenn outlined and at the end they say well he
00:32:45.920 never actually did them and it's unlikely that they'll happen pants on fire it's like well that's
00:32:49.880 not what glenn said he said he proposed them which he did he did should have been true you want to say
00:32:54.520 mostly true because you don't like this characterization you could go there to go all
00:32:58.000 the way to not only not false but pants on fire their worst rating and and then these are the people
00:33:04.040 who are making the fact check decisions to see whether your tweet is true or not whether it gets a
00:33:10.260 warning whether it gets uh demonetized whether it gets uh you know thrown into oblivion and not shared
00:33:16.460 with anyone and and think of how convenient this is when you come to like a selection bias type of
00:33:21.180 situation you know we've said a thousand things on this show today right like you could clearly find
00:33:25.880 the overwhelming majority of them are unquestionable right like you just we're just talking about basic
00:33:31.040 things that would be rated true then there's some things where we have opinion where you they may say
00:33:36.120 true or false but if you pick the statements from republicans that are false which everyone says
00:33:42.360 something wrong every once in a while and you give you rate them false all the time
00:33:46.800 then you shrink their audience and then when they say the thing that's true that you don't like
00:33:52.460 well you don't have to fact check that one and so that gets to a smaller audience the reverse with
00:33:58.060 the left they fact check things that are true obviously democrats occasionally every once in a while
00:34:03.460 say something that's true they pick those things fact check them true they don't fact check the ones
00:34:07.440 when they're false and then their audience grows not shrinks and when they say the false thing it goes to
00:34:12.960 more people which is a terrible outcome but it's one that these you know these organizations propagate
00:34:19.420 all the time uh yeah and obama uh has been pretty prominent over the last few weeks for some reason
00:34:28.020 he's he's getting in to everything um and he was just uh interviewed by peter hamby from good luck
00:34:38.220 america had some interesting things to say to the young advocates or activists uh people like aoc here's
00:34:45.720 what he what he had to say if you're a young activist today and you believe really passionately
00:34:50.280 in a slogan like defund the police what is your advice to that activist also knowing that a lot of
00:34:56.120 politicians won't go near that phrase it's interesting we take for granted if you want people to buy your
00:35:01.720 sneakers that you're going to market it to your audience if a musician drops a record there there's
00:35:08.320 going to try to reach certain audiences speaking to folks where they are it's no different in terms
00:35:15.060 of ideas if you believe as as i do that we should be able to reform the criminal justice system so that
00:35:21.660 it's not biased and treats everybody fairly i guess you can use a snappy slogan like defund the police
00:35:29.440 but you know you've lost a big audience the minute you say it which makes it a lot less likely that
00:35:34.940 you're actually going to get the changes you want done snappy a snappy so slogan he still has the
00:35:43.180 whistle going on that wasn't for him apparently uh part of the oval office uh carried with him
00:35:51.340 outside of his presidency as well the snappy snappy slogan um i love that because he's just
00:35:59.420 admitting the truth here which is they all believe in these crazy ideas the question is
00:36:04.620 only whether you say them or not yep right so elanomar says them i don't think he doesn't say
00:36:10.480 i don't think he disagrees with defund the police he just doesn't like the slogan he just doesn't
00:36:15.120 like the slogan because it's too snappy snappy and it turns people off because when you tell people
00:36:21.400 what you actually plan to do and that's defund the police uh you're not supposed to do that
00:36:26.420 he wants it done subversively uh so you don't you you don't uh announce your intentions that clearly
00:36:35.700 and i i keep wondering too like if you defund the police how do you uh how do you implement a math
00:36:43.020 mandate how do you how do you enforce a mask mandate when you've defunded gonna be difficult
00:36:49.500 how are you gonna keep people locked up in their homes if you defunded the police
00:36:52.780 yeah i don't know that i want the answer to that question it's probably really scary national
00:36:56.980 guard yeah i don't know somebody else will come to your home god only knows but a force will be
00:37:01.420 involved but yeah this is this it goes back to van jones when he went into uh the white house and we
00:37:08.560 went through his older commentaries and he said he wanted to drop the medical radical means to get the
00:37:13.940 radical ends he was okay saying no longer saying he was a communist and no longer being a radical right
00:37:20.120 because at the end to get the result he wanted it was smarter to put on a suit and go into a
00:37:26.460 business meeting and convince companies that they should all adopt a replicate of the green new deal
00:37:31.620 and that's always been what barack obama is all about hasn't it he won't he won't come out and say
00:37:37.620 look i'm a i'm a marxist even though he has followed the marxist theory his entire life he said it a long
00:37:46.100 time ago but he wouldn't say it when he was going into office because he knew that would hurt him
00:37:50.640 exactly politically exactly he's covering and and by the way this he's right on this point if you want
00:37:57.040 to he's smart if you want to become if you want to get something done as a progressive he is correct
00:38:03.100 that defund the police scared the hell out of everybody it scared the hell out of democrats it
00:38:07.960 scared the hell out of any uh fringe republican who might have voted for joe biden those people were
00:38:15.200 scared because of the things ilan omar and aoc advocate for like getting rid of police so that
00:38:21.500 when you call 9-1-1 nothing happens like that is like that's something that you don't need to be
00:38:26.440 some hardcore republican right to believe in that so it did scare off some voters he's right that the
00:38:31.940 better approach to get to those policies is to not say them out loud but it is it is really freaking
00:38:37.740 revealing when you have to hide the thing that you want i never have a problem saying i want lower
00:38:42.860 taxes i never have to say oh well what we want of course is uh uh to defund the the government
00:38:52.180 government like i don't need to say that i want lower taxes because i believe people should have
00:38:56.200 more of their own money period like i don't need to hide it i don't need to hide like people are like
00:39:03.100 oh well let's oh you know what let me give you a great slogan we are not for abortion we're for
00:39:09.580 choice we are pro choice i have no problem saying i'm against abortion i don't pro-life is a fine
00:39:16.980 summary because it also does encapsulate uh the argument however i have no problem saying i'm
00:39:26.020 against abortion i don't think women should have the right to choose to kill their children yes i think
00:39:31.160 that's a bad idea and i don't run from it i don't need to run from it but they do they do because
00:39:36.500 they're radicals
