00:03:07.880 you're listening to the best of the blend back program all right i want to walk you through

00:03:23.240 two stories that ran this week uh side by side because together they'll tell you something about

00:03:28.160 one of our you know major parties and you know let's be honest it actually tells us where any

00:03:34.220 of us will end up if we decide that the cause is bigger than the principles. So let me tell you

00:03:39.220 first the story about Graham Plattner, Democrat, frontrunner for the United States Senate in Maine,

00:03:46.460 taking the seat of Susan Collins, and they're calling him Maine's Momdani. That's enough to

00:03:51.680 throw me off the path, but if you like that kind of stuff and you're a Democrat, fine.

00:03:56.360 He sells himself as a working-class oyster farmer. He is a regular guy, anti-establishment,

00:04:03.620 But it turns out regular guy went to an $80,000 a year boarding school and comes from a family with a lawyer father and a world-famous architect grandfather.

00:04:14.280 So not the average guy.

00:04:16.080 And the average guy, if the average guy is a communist, that says billionaires just shouldn't exist, he's talked about deadly violence against political opponents. 0.99

00:04:25.960 he calls all police officers bastards and he has said rural white americans are actually racist 1.00

00:04:33.400 racist and stupid oh and then there's a little thing about that tattoo he's got a tattoo on his 1.00

00:04:39.400 chest used by the nazi ss it's inked on his body he says i didn't know what that was that's a 1.00

00:04:46.380 everyone knows what that is now on top of that the new york times reported that several women

00:04:53.920 who dated him described him as disturbing and intimidating with one of the ex-girlfriends

00:05:01.660 saying he was rough with her the reaction inside the party well not a lot senior democrat aide

00:05:10.600 has come out and said everyone's uh apoplectic about it but i haven't seen it his own supporters

00:05:17.560 congressman roe connor said that his behavior is wrong and toxic there's a second story i want to

00:05:25.160 talk to you about and it's the same story kind of this about a woman named uh geneve mcdonald

00:05:30.800 now she is a former main uh state representative she's a democrat she was the political director

00:05:40.260 of platner's own campaign she wrote an op-ed in the washington post blowing the whistle on the 0.96

00:05:46.640 man she was hired to elect. Will anyone hear that whistle? She said when she asked him about the

00:05:53.220 tattoo, he said, ah, it's a military thing, a little problematic, but nothing to worry about.

00:05:58.720 She believed him. Then the call started coming from Washington. Have you read about his opposition

00:06:04.980 file? Have you seen it? She hadn't. What she learned was that he absolutely understood exactly

00:06:13.220 what the ss symbol meant then there were the old post where he downplayed sexual assault

00:06:19.400 it disturbed her personally she was running it it disturbed her so deeply she quit

00:06:26.580 and here's those who are desperate for power want you to skip past after she left she was offered

00:06:37.100 $115,000 to sign a nondisclosure agreement to go quiet. She, thank God, turned the money down. 0.99

00:06:46.280 And when she watched the giants of the progressive movement, Bernie Sanders among them,

00:06:51.160 wave the whole thing away with a shrug and a line about, you know, nobody's a saint.

00:06:56.820 She wrote one sentence that I think is the most honest sentence spoken in America politics this

00:07:02.540 year we have learned to excuse what we should condemn and then enough is enough so those two

00:07:13.240 stories who this guy says he is what she says he is hold these two stories in one hand okay at the

00:07:19.520 same time now let me play a clip of what democratic voters are saying cut five well i think candidly

00:07:28.200 The Democratic Party has come up short in a lot of ways in terms of, like, whitewashing our candidates and being so morally elitist and kind of entitled at times.

00:07:36.500 We have to be willing to get dirty.

00:07:38.040 His baggage is nowhere near their baggage.

00:07:40.700 We're talking about people that are felons and people that take bribes.

00:07:45.180 I really kind of think that we all have skeletons in our closet and we've all made mistakes, especially when we're younger.

00:07:52.320 and that was really a refrain we heard time and time again this kind of redemption arc

00:07:59.840 we can you know have faith and forgiveness uh stop stop we can have faith and forgiveness

00:08:08.100 let me ask this guy has not asked for forgiveness this guy has been denying all of these things

00:08:14.380 okay to give forgiveness you have to have somebody who is looking for forgiveness he's not

00:08:22.220 he's denying. Let me ask you this. How does the party that built its entire moral identity on

00:08:32.220 three pillars, fairness, ending racism, and believe all women line up to nominate a man

00:08:39.820 accused of frightening women, the women who loved him, a man who downplayed sexual assault,

00:08:47.220 and a man wearing an SS image

00:08:52.340 from the most racist regime in human history.

00:08:58.060 And then he lied about knowing what it was.

00:09:01.300 This is the hashtag Me Too party?

00:09:04.220 This is the party that told us 0.59

00:09:06.020 we should always listen to women when they come forward? 1.00

00:09:10.000 This is the party that told us correctly

00:09:11.960 symbols of hate are never just symbols?

00:09:14.580 okay yeah but the senate seat is online

00:09:20.640 those same people are looking at a nazi tattoo and credible accusations for women who loved him

00:09:30.520 worked for him and were frightened by him and the response is well i don't know too many saints

00:09:37.140 that's a problem and that that is a human problem this is not just a democratic problem

00:09:43.280 This is a human problem.

00:09:44.260 It's going to come for all of us if we let it.

00:09:48.040 And here's the lie at the very center of it.

00:09:50.500 The lie is this.

00:09:52.280 The ends justify the means.

00:09:55.160 They don't.

00:09:56.700 Well, yes, Glenn, we have to flip the Senate.

00:09:58.440 We have to stop the other guy.

00:09:59.360 We have to save democracy.

00:10:01.240 And if you have to swallow a Nazi tattoo and look away from frightened women and offer a whistleblower hush money to do it,

00:10:09.840 and that's just the cost of winning and it's the winning that matters,

00:10:12.920 Well, I'm telling you, that's not how it works.

00:10:15.980 That's never been how it works because the ends don't justify the means.

00:10:21.400 The means become the man.

00:10:25.300 The means make you into the very thing you set out to fight.

00:10:31.420 Think about what you're actually doing.

00:10:34.760 You pick up the cause of anti-racism.

00:10:37.440 and to keep their candidate they're now rationalizing an ss symbol that the guy put on his

00:10:46.340 body they picked up a cause of believing women and to keep their candidate they're now explaining

00:10:53.420 away the women did you see how the new york times treated these whistleblowers they pick up the

00:11:00.180 banner of fairness and transparency democracy dies in the darkness they love to say that

00:11:05.660 but to keep their candidate, somebody reaches for an envelope with $15,000 in it to buy somebody's

00:11:13.560 silence. I don't know. That's not defeating darkness. That's becoming a franchise of darkness.

00:11:22.840 Here's the problem. When you set out to slay a dragon, if you live your life one excuse at a

00:11:32.140 time. Nobody's a saint. You will wake up before very long and notice, oh my gosh, I have scales.

00:11:39.600 You're the dragon. That's the warning that everyone should hear and know for voting for

00:11:48.320 somebody like this. And it's bigger than his communism, which is enough, isn't it? Isn't it?

00:11:55.040 It's bigger than his communism, bigger than the math on Medicare for all, a plan that would cost

00:12:00.400 the entire state budget. I mean, bigger than any single policy. It's bigger than that. The real

00:12:06.420 danger is not what he can do to the state or to the country. It's what he does to you, your own

00:12:14.200 moral immune system. Because the first time you train yourself to excuse in your guy what you

00:12:22.340 would scream about in the other guy, you haven't just made one exception. You've reset the floor.

00:12:28.140 And I can hear people right now.

00:12:29.700 I can hear them. 1.00

00:12:30.760 You are such a hypocrite. 1.00

00:12:32.100 Donald Trump, Donald Trump. 1.00

00:12:33.220 I spoke out about all of the things about Donald Trump.

00:12:39.480 I spoke out about all of them.

00:12:42.300 I continue to speak out about the things that bother me about Donald Trump.

00:12:47.220 I don't blindly accept them.

00:12:49.440 i just don't buy the fact that you think he's such a horrible guy i don't buy it i know him

00:13:03.720 personally you don't so i can excuse you i know him personally i know his children i know the way

00:13:11.280 he treats people i know all of his co-workers they don't walk away they all they work for him

00:13:18.220 forever. They don't walk away and say, the guy is doing this at night. The guy's got a Nazi tattoo.

00:13:28.820 You've told yourself your principles are all important. You've told us you've got to live 0.69

00:13:34.900 by these principles. You force people, but they were never principles at all. They were just

00:13:39.380 weapons that you used when it was convenient. And you put those weapons down when it's not

00:13:46.300 convenient that's not a principle that's a weapon and people who can't tell the difference between

00:13:53.320 a principle and a weapon is a people who will follow anyone anywhere into anything let me ask

00:14:00.820 you if if it's all if it's if he starts to say you know what we need to round people up he's got the 0.81

00:14:08.580 nazi tattoo he's got we got to round people up we got to stop listening to israel or we have to stop

00:14:14.440 listening to these MAGA people. We need re-education camps. Will you follow him there 0.68

00:14:19.400 because the ends justify the means? What is your line? If you don't know what your line is,

00:14:28.940 I won't vote for a Nazi. I won't do it. I won't do it. I know that sounds crazy that I have to

00:14:34.300 say that, but for half the country, apparently you do have to say it. I won't vote for a Nazi.

00:14:40.000 won't do it i wouldn't have voted for robert bird if you don't know who he was old timey days

00:14:50.800 in the 1990s the democrats voted he was a grand wizard or grand dragon or whatever the hell they

00:14:57.940 are in the clan i wouldn't have voted for him this is the oldest trap in human history

00:15:04.960 every moment every every movement in time

00:15:10.900 that has turned into a monstrous movement or moment started out certain that they were the 0.93

00:15:21.160 good guys the bolsheviks were there to free the worker the terror in france was going to perfect

00:15:27.300 liberty everybody believed the cause was so righteous that the rules no longer applied to

00:15:32.680 them. And the cause is exactly what gave them permission to become everything they claimed

00:15:38.020 they hated. Show me a man who tells you the ends justify the means, and I will show you a man who

00:15:44.460 is about to do something he would have called evil a year ago. I don't want to end with a villain

00:15:54.220 here. I want to tell you a story of a hero, because there is a hero, and it's a Democrat,

00:15:59.900 Geneve MacDonald, a Democrat. 0.98

00:16:02.580 She had every worldly reason to take the money and stay quiet. 1.00

00:16:07.540 She could have taken the $15,000. 0.99

00:16:10.080 She could have probably had a great, bright career with the Democratic Party. 0.98

00:16:15.920 She could have held up her own side, her own career, her own team shot at power.

00:16:22.400 And she looked at it and said, no, enough is enough.

00:16:25.300 and she walked into the daylight and told the truth about her own people that is a democrat

00:16:31.620 i love that is a democrat i celebrate that's what moral courage looks like that's the antidote

00:16:40.080 not tribe over over truth but truth especially when it costs your tribe

00:16:47.120 so anyone in maine anyone anywhere who is about to step into the booth and you're telling yourself

00:16:55.840 that the cause is worth holding your nose on a guy with a nazi tattoo remember her

00:17:04.000 remember that the ends never justify the means the means are the only thing you actually

00:17:14.040 get to keep. You own them in the end. Your means, that's your character.

00:17:22.400 They become your party. They become your country. Choose them like your soul depends on it.

00:17:30.920 Because I have news for you. It does. This is the best of the Glenn Beck Program.

00:17:37.700 so a house oversight committee has just come out uh with a report and it's dropping the hammer on

00:17:46.540 minnesota governor tim waltz and attorney general keith ellison this report now exposes they both

00:17:54.360 knew about the taxpayer fraud uh programs the welfare programs as far back as spring of 2019

00:18:01.200 that's nine billion dollars that's billion with a b lost to medicare fraud alone in one state

00:18:10.820 since 2018 another 300 million dollars stolen from federal child nutrition programs meant for kids

00:18:18.240 feeding our future and its cronies feasting while the system was looted now here is the worst part

00:18:27.120 they didn't just fail to stop it they had the authority they had the clear authority

00:18:32.440 to suspend payments investigate and shut it down but instead they chose political protection

00:18:40.220 over people's treasure question is why they say fear of political retribution

00:18:48.080 from certain activist communities fear of being called racist or islamophobic

00:18:54.940 so instead of guarding the taxpayers money they guarded the fraud machine now i want you to hear

00:19:03.640 this there is one thing about not catching it there's another thing to turning a blind eye

00:19:09.020 and then it's an entirely different category when you when you take the whistleblowers the public

00:19:16.720 servants with integrity trying to expose it and you retaliate against them and the retaliation

00:19:22.820 was vicious private investigators were sicked on these people and and were told to dig into their

00:19:29.240 lives photos of their cars and their homes monitoring of their phones and their computers

00:19:35.720 questions about their school kids you know when i say questions about their the school and the kids

00:19:41.680 it's like this you got a you got a kid going to uh uh roosevelt elementary don't you be ashamed

00:19:50.520 something happened there huh that's the kind that's the kind of retaliation check-ins from the top

00:19:56.540 threats of military style surveillance warnings to stop digging or be labeled bigots they had

00:20:05.280 hotlines that were supposed to be anonymous and it would expose who was calling they blocked the tip

00:20:13.560 lines they shamed and punished anyone who dared to speak the truth wow now that's a different

00:20:20.440 category, isn't it? That's totally different than I didn't know what was going on. Totally

00:20:26.700 different than, okay, I knew what was going on, but I didn't say anything. This is, I knew what

00:20:33.040 was going on. Quote, I'm afraid. So I'm going to make others very afraid. And I'm going to use

00:20:41.380 every tool in the toolbook that is that's crazy

00:20:46.080 turning a blind eye to billions vanishing and then actively silencing those who are sworn to

00:20:55.000 protect the system public officials elected appointed betraying their oaths betraying the

00:21:01.100 people of minnesota and betraying you and me let me tell you if this is proven in a court of law

00:21:07.360 because here in America, you are innocent until proven guilty.

00:21:11.900 They should face the full weight of justice

00:21:15.780 and the full power of the federal government.

00:21:19.040 You swore to protect the people.

00:21:21.740 You swore an oath to protect the state, the Constitution,

00:21:25.500 the public treasury, not to play politics

00:21:28.840 while people are enriching themselves.

00:21:32.580 Turning a blind eye to rampant theft?

00:21:35.080 malfeasance obstructing justice by intimidating whistleblowers that's a crime against the

00:21:43.360 republic that is that you should face the harshest penalty not the death penalty but the harshest

00:21:51.240 the harshest penalty a public servant can ever face you should go to life in prison for what

00:21:58.700 you've just done. Removal from office, not enough. Fines, not enough. But no one is above

00:22:07.140 the law. Not governors, not attorney general, not their enablers. You know, and we don't do

00:22:14.140 show trials. We don't do political revenge. We're not supposed to. I'm not advocating that. We do

00:22:20.440 justice, blind, impartial justice, rooted in evidence and the rule of law. But make no mistake,

00:22:27.740 accountability is not optional on this one if you are a leader and you loot the public purse

00:22:35.040 and punish the righteous Americans need to demand that those politicians answer for it and I mean

00:22:44.760 I mean demand it you have a right to assemble you have a right to petition

00:22:50.260 if this one goes down and these guys walk away it's the end it's the end

00:22:56.140 Glenn what do you think the republic would be like today if Kamala Harris would have won

00:23:01.880 you tell me look at what this guy was doing look at what he was willing to do to protect himself

00:23:10.780 first thing none of this would have seen the light of day all of this would have remained

00:23:18.480 covered Tim Walsh would have been vice president sitting right there in the White House

00:23:23.000 with all of the machinery of the federal government behind him.

00:23:27.460 Imagine the same corruption, billions stolen, whistleblowers crushed,

00:23:32.620 not at a state level, but scaled up to the entire country.

00:23:36.160 Can you imagine the damage that they could have done at the federal level?

00:23:40.640 It would have been catastrophic.

00:23:43.220 Trillions potentially funneled away under the cover of equity or political fear.

00:23:49.500 the house of cards just would have kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger the lies deeper the

00:23:55.540 grip tighter imagine thank god the american people saw through this in 2024 thank god we had a chance

00:24:05.000 to root this out let me let me say that again we have a chance to root this out chance and i believe

00:24:14.600 we have one chance. The job isn't finished. If I read another one of these reports, they go

00:24:20.640 absolutely nowhere. I'm going to lose my mind. We have a chance to root this out. This has got

00:24:28.420 to stop. And this isn't just about Minnesota. This should be a warning to every politician.

00:24:36.400 I don't care, Republican, Democrat, Independent. Every politician should be put on notice.

00:24:43.160 and all of us should demand

00:24:45.300 we root this out, this rot in our system

00:24:48.480 no matter the place, the party or the person

00:24:51.540 no sacred cows, no protected classes

00:24:54.360 no more blind eyes

00:24:56.040 because it might offend the wrong voters

00:24:58.360 every voter should be offended

00:25:01.660 by what has just been done

00:25:03.680 this is spiritual darkness

00:25:09.080 idols of power idols of of political survivor survival over truth and stewardship

00:25:19.160 this is bad and it happens in history empires they always fall from the inside not from the

00:25:27.760 outside leaders who forgot that they were servants not masters i read a book once what did it say

00:25:36.780 something like woe unto those who call evil good and good evil we're living it gang we're living it

00:25:45.460 let me say something to the whistleblowers thank you thank you you should sue

00:25:55.780 the state should pay you a buttload of money and you should sue not just the state you should sue 0.51

00:26:04.580 waltz uh and the attorney general and anyone else that was involved they put you through hell you're 0.56

00:26:14.240 the remnant you're the watchman stand firm thank you thank you for doing it and know

00:26:20.480 that you are now an example that the truth always wins eventually the truth comes out and to every

00:26:28.240 leader, fear justice. Fear God, not the mob. Honor your oath, or you will be exposed.

00:26:49.020 To those who are going to try to take this and cover this up, again, fear God,

00:26:57.640 not the mob fear god and justice because come hell or high water the american people are not

00:27:05.480 going to take it much longer we're not going to have you steal from us while we're trying to feed

00:27:13.680 our children you're stealing from us we're the ones working we pay your salary and you're stealing

00:27:23.500 from us. I'm telling you, when the American people, when that really, truly connects and

00:27:29.420 they stop playing stupid politics, you are in trouble, my friend. Stop playing this game. 1.00

00:27:41.460 To the people, this is our republic. Reclaim your republic. Demand transparency. Support

00:27:51.440 real oversight build a strong family build a strong community strong character feed hope

00:27:57.960 every day reject all of the lies choose right right now choose who you are going to serve

00:28:06.060 the god of truth or the failing gods of this age because only one of them is going to stand

00:28:12.660 the gates of hell are raging right now they're not going to prevail because good always wins

00:28:20.480 in the end. Even if I don't

00:28:22.500 see it in my lifetime, good will

00:28:24.660 win in the end.

00:28:28.660 Darkness will

00:28:29.280 not conquer us if

00:28:32.480 we stand as free men

00:28:34.420 and women

00:28:35.180 under God.

00:28:38.000 You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck

00:28:40.280 program.

00:28:44.240 Alright, I pray that you listen to this

00:28:46.460 story and really

00:28:48.120 listen, not just hear it, listen.

00:28:50.480 Because it is not just about one tragic day at a Texas track meet.

00:28:55.560 It's about who we are as people and what we're allowing ourselves to become.

00:29:03.360 I knew when I sobered up that I knew who I wanted to be.

00:29:10.960 But all I was left with was who I allowed myself to become.

00:29:16.140 And I became that man with a series of small compromises.

00:29:20.480 and most people don't notice it

00:29:23.300 until there's a problem in their life

00:29:25.340 and then even then

00:29:26.780 I dismissed it a lot

00:29:28.320 because I was like

00:29:28.860 how come these things keep happening to me

00:29:30.860 before I realized

00:29:32.440 wait a minute

00:29:32.880 maybe that's because life is trying to teach me something

00:29:36.060 that I refuse to learn

00:29:37.320 the problem is not other people

00:29:39.120 the problem might be me

00:29:40.440 so I want to talk to you about

00:29:42.880 who we're allowing ourselves to become

00:29:44.420 let me tell you the story

00:29:45.360 17 year old Austin Metcalf

00:29:47.100 he's a high school athlete

00:29:48.400 he's a kid with his whole life ahead of him and he was at a field event in frisco texas just outside

00:29:55.440 of dallas last april this kid comes in wants to see wants to sit in this one area it is a team

00:30:03.640 tent he was told you can't sit here blah blah words were exchanged the kid 19 years old his

00:30:10.520 name is carmelo anthony he was asked by multiple witnesses 19 leave the tent it belongs to the

00:30:18.140 opposing team. He refuses. He swears at them. He taunts them. He reaches into his backpack

00:30:25.500 grabbing something apparently and repeatedly saying, you touch me and you just see what happens.

00:30:33.380 At one point he pulls a knife out. Austin, by all accounts, stays calm, not looking for a fight.

00:30:42.000 When Anthony pulls out a semi-serrated folding knife,

00:30:47.040 he just turns around and he just drives it deep into Austin's chest.

00:30:53.640 Pierce's bone punctures his heart, a gaping fatal wound.

00:30:58.920 Yesterday, the jurors saw the autopsy photos

00:31:02.440 and some people gasped, one woman put her hand over her mouth.

00:31:06.760 Oh my God, it's horrible, horrible.

00:31:09.160 anthony the accused just looked down he didn't look at the photos that's what happened young

00:31:17.220 life full of promise cut down in a moment of rage another kid full who had his whole life in front

00:31:24.820 of him full of promise drives the knife into that kid now he's standing trial for murder

00:31:31.660 his claim is self-defense but it's completely falling apart witnesses including some called

00:31:38.280 by his own attorney have painted a very different picture. Anthony as the aggressor, the defiant

00:31:45.360 one, the threatening one, the one who escalated everything. Again, even witnessed, yesterday was

00:31:50.640 a witness called by his own attorney. It was like, that's not what happened. He was the aggressor.

00:31:57.120 Okay, so that's just the way things happen in court, okay? And this is a story that men have

00:32:03.000 been murdering men forever let me show you what happens to this story and what is old but also

00:32:10.820 new that needs to be changed what happens when that story hits the wider world well there are

00:32:17.580 people that don't want you to see um you know the truth they don't want they want you to see

00:32:24.080 not the dead boy and the knife and even the testimony. They just want you to see color.

00:32:33.480 They want you to see a black defendant and a white victim. That's it. Now, let me prove this 0.98

00:32:38.920 out. I want to play two pieces of audio here that came out yesterday. The first one is not his

00:32:44.560 mother, but a black mother. She says this about her standing at the courthouse watching this 0.87

00:32:53.920 whole thing. Listen. If evidence does come out that Carmelo was not in fact fighting for his

00:32:58.780 life when he stabbed and killed Austin Metcalf, do you think that the black community will accept

00:33:03.260 that? If evidence shows that he did not, no, we're going to stand by ours regardless. They 0.78

00:33:09.480 stand by theirs. We're going to stand by ours regardless. I'm a mother first. I'm a black

00:33:14.040 mother. Let me put that on there. I'm an African-American mother. So I have to put away

00:33:18.840 my color first and step into the motherhood. Nobody wants to see their child slain, so I do

00:33:26.360 want to send prayers to Austin Metcalfe, their family. But at the end of the day, I got to think

00:33:32.060 like, okay, what did you do to them or whatever to cause this to happen, the reaction? We got to

00:33:36.940 start taking accountability for our kids. Because then again, if my kid, that's why I said Catch

00:33:41.140 22, if my kid was Carmelo and I feel like his back was up against the wall, I'm going to tell

00:33:45.700 straight up better mind than yours better mind than yours so either way go everybody loses a 0.60

00:33:51.660 black boy allegedly ordered and i say allegedly heavy on the allegedly allegedly ordered somebody 0.50

00:33:58.880 you see what i'm saying so yeah this is this this is about race

00:34:03.000 i can't even make heads or tails of that okay if it was proven he was not defending himself but he

00:34:12.180 was the aggressor she says yes because of race i will stand with them because they stand by theirs

00:34:18.440 that's the worst thing you can do my mother would have said if everybody's jumping off a bridge would

00:34:23.040 you jump off a bridge no it's wrong you don't do that then she brings in motherhood now this is

00:34:28.720 what a mom should do to some degree in this way a mom or a dad i've told i've told my kids i don't

00:34:35.720 care what you do in your life i don't care i will always love you what that means at the extreme

00:34:41.820 example uh the extremes is um my daughter goes out and does what anthony carmelo is alleged to

00:34:50.600 have done that means i sit at the table with her i go to the prison with her i don't defend her

00:34:59.000 but i love her and i'm with her but you cannot expect society to change if you don't hold you

00:35:07.560 know, she says, we got to stand by our kids. No, no. We stay by our kids' side just as God stays by

00:35:13.980 our side when we screw up. He loves us. He's with us, but he requires a penalty, okay? And if you

00:35:21.260 don't get it here on earth, you're going to get it with him. So we look to our heavenly father and

00:35:27.120 say, how would he deal with it? Well, he would not abandon us. He would not disown us. He would love

00:35:32.920 us he would counsel us he would see to the punishment but he would do it with love and he

00:35:39.300 would always be there that's our responsibility as a parent now let me show you a minister and

00:35:45.820 what he said listen to this cut seven i come out here every thursday and we pray for people going

00:35:51.220 to court because this we know this is the final frontier of racism and it's legalized here it was

00:35:59.560 announced yesterday that there's no black jurors that were chosen. What are your thoughts on that?

00:36:04.900 That's why we need God. That's why we need God. And that's why he's going to show

00:36:11.440 who's in control. And would you be open to giving us your personal insights

00:36:16.960 into the Carmelo Anthony trial and what your thoughts are on it?

00:36:21.980 I just want justice done. You know, we know. Okay, stop. Nope. Okay, stop. So he just wants

00:36:29.260 but this is the this is where this is all about race he starts it there it's all about race

00:36:34.500 now i believe he's got a good heart i just think he is misguided if i understand him correctly he's

00:36:41.400 misguided here because people want you to believe that this is just an endless american morality

00:36:49.540 play of systemic racism over and over again they want you to ignore that anthony was asked to leave

00:36:56.120 15 times that he put his hand into the bag and dared them he said i'm not leaving f you all

00:37:04.540 they want outrage they don't want evidence division not truth i i we have to love him

00:37:14.440 carmelo we have to we as people and you know we it's easy for us be hard for the family

00:37:20.820 but we as people have to forgive him but there must be justice and look at how the press just

00:37:27.320 plays along no blacks on the jury as if as if justice requires a racial quota

00:37:33.720 here's what they left out there are minorities on that jury it's not all white people

00:37:39.140 there's just not black minorities okay and the one prospective juror who was black who got

00:37:46.560 herself disqualified. How? Was it because the prosecution was racist? No. Can you be fair?

00:37:57.660 Can you be blind as a juror? And she said, I don't think I could put another brother in jail

00:38:03.120 if he's guilty. Well, then you can't be on the jury. She removed herself because she couldn't

00:38:11.360 promise fairness that's not the system failing that is a human being in a moment of honesty

00:38:18.260 admitting she couldn't live up to the blindfold and so the system worked and a jury of your peers

00:38:24.540 doesn't mean people who look like you it never has it does mean this citizens who can set aside

00:38:33.060 their bias racial political cultural and weigh the evidence with integrity this has been hard

00:38:41.000 for whites to judge blacks and blacks to judge whites,

00:38:43.740 but that's what it requires if you're on a jury. 0.80

00:38:47.220 Now, perhaps we think that the juror needs to look like us 1.00

00:38:50.120 because we don't think the people of other color 1.00

00:38:52.920 hold the same values, 0.99

00:38:54.360 and that is terrifying if that is true.

00:38:56.900 And these voices here that I just played for you

00:39:00.140 make me think that is true, 0.99

00:39:02.740 but that can't be fixed by putting more whites or blacks

00:39:06.500 or anybody based on race in the jury box.

00:39:11.000 That's only fixed when we all understand and hold the same self-evident truths.

00:39:19.960 We need jurors in every case who can see the defendant as a man and not a symbol.

00:39:28.240 We are judging the individual, not the symbols, not culture, good, bad, guilty, or innocent.

00:39:35.600 That is the American promise, and it is imperfectly kept.

00:39:39.760 it's been betrayed but the north star we have always tried to steer toward and this is not

00:39:47.660 steering toward you remember oj simpson oj simpson walked free not because the church the jury

00:39:54.780 believed he was innocent they said that at the time but later in interviews years later they've

00:40:00.700 all admitted it they wanted to send a message to the man to stick it to the system they played

00:40:07.400 politics with a murder trial years later some of them express regrets because the blood on those

00:40:15.880 gloves told its story and they knew it but they wanted to make a political point at the time and

00:40:22.720 so they let a killer go free we always get in trouble when we turn a courtroom into a billboard

00:40:32.040 for our grievances instead of a sanctuary for truth. I want fair trials. If the evidence shows

00:40:41.960 that this is not the story that I just told you, then he should go free, but not because of

00:40:49.340 something political or racial. Moral boundaries of our society are cracking, and they're cracking

00:40:55.960 because we are prioritizing the narrative over reality.

00:41:00.060 It's amazing.

00:41:00.900 They're trying to destroy our story of who we actually are

00:41:04.300 and replace it with a story of who we should never, ever become.

00:41:08.940 When we teach young people that justice is about racial score settling

00:41:13.340 rather than right and wrong, 0.95

00:41:14.700 when we allow race hustlers to poison the well, white or black,

00:41:20.260 before a piece of evidence is even heard, that's not progress. 0.69

00:41:24.020 that's regression

00:41:25.740 that goes back to

00:41:28.040 tribal blood feuds

00:41:29.620 and it's all dressed up in modern

00:41:32.080 university language

00:41:33.640 and it spits on the grave of 0.96

00:41:35.880 every American, black, white 0.96

00:41:37.680 anyone who bled for a system

00:41:40.180 where the arc bends towards

00:41:42.020 justice, not vengeance

00:41:43.620 the American

00:41:46.040 justice system is supposed to be blind

00:41:48.000 not

00:41:49.840 colorblind in some naive slogan

00:41:52.040 sense, but truly blind

00:41:53.700 to politics, to pressure, to wealth, or social status, or the mob, or headlines.

00:42:02.300 And we've never achieved it. We've never fully achieved it. It's like a tide. That's why our

00:42:09.240 founders said a more perfect nation. We are gathered to build a more perfect nation. It's a

00:42:14.360 tide. It rolls in, and then it goes out. And right now, the tide is so far out, I can't even see the

00:42:20.640 water anymore the rhetoric is so loud now the temptation send a strong message is so strong

00:42:27.960 i'm not sending a strong this message that needs to be said is this kind of crime any kind of crime

00:42:35.200 will not be tolerated that's the only message you're you get justice for the family of the

00:42:42.140 person that was hurt or abused or killed you then try to teach this personal lesson that that is

00:42:48.280 outside of polite society you have no place doing this in society so cool off think about it and try

00:42:54.760 to reform yourself and then the third is a message to those who want to commit these crimes don't do

00:43:01.120 it or you'll get the same the activists and the activists are there and they are desperate for

00:43:09.120 another narrative to fuel the fire but it is our job yours and mine to push back to see past the

00:43:15.820 race baiters and the selective outrage and demand that juries and judges and citizens

00:43:22.080 look for the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Guilt or innocent based on evidence,

00:43:26.920 not identity. That's not just the legal way. That's the American way, the way all men are

00:43:34.460 created equal, the way of a republic that dares to say character and content matter more than the

00:43:40.880 color of your skin. Austin didn't deserve to die in a seat in a tent. And Carmelo deserves a fair

00:43:49.560 trial, truly fair, without the circus. And you and America deserve better than to let another

00:43:55.440 generation be taught that justice is whatever serves the narrative. Stand firm, demand the truth,

00:44:01.620 reject the easy tribalism. Because if we lose the blindfold, we lose everything worth preserving.
