00:21:17.420 the DSA talking about abolishing the Senate. Listen. So you don't want to abolish the Senate,

00:21:26.480 the United States Senate, because that's what Article 1 is. The United States Senate

00:21:30.180 is a non-democratic institution. It gives more representation to people in smaller states than

00:21:38.740 to the 30 million people in California. That's how you have the balance. So you've got the House

00:21:42.080 of Representatives, which is population-driven, and then you've got the Senate. So every state,

00:21:47.100 if you're a small state, you still get two senators, even though you only get maybe one

00:21:50.540 congressman, in order to make all of the states have fair representation. So you say, I'm just

00:21:57.660 confused. When you ask normal Americans if Congress and the Senate and our political system is working

00:22:03.980 for them, most people are very unhappy with the political system, and they say- Stop. It has

00:22:09.000 nothing to do with, I'm just not going to let that propaganda go on. It has nothing to do, yes, I say

00:22:13.680 that. I say that. Senate doesn't work. Congress doesn't work. Why? It's not because it's

00:22:18.400 undemocratic. It's not because the way the founders did it. It's because we're not using

00:22:22.760 it the way the founders set it up. And by the way, it was you progressives that changed the

00:22:28.000 makeup of the Senate. We still, we haven't done since Woodrow Wilson. The Senate was supposed to

00:22:33.780 be representing the states. They were never to be elected. They were to be elected by the

00:22:39.100 legislature in each state their job the job of the congress was hold the purse strings they make all

00:22:46.360 the decisions on money that's why they have to be re-elected every two years because they know

00:22:51.000 our founders knew if they're spending money like crazy people you'll vote them out or at least

00:22:56.720 that's what they thought you would do you'll vote them out okay they're the closest to you so they

00:23:02.800 have to be every two years the senators were every four years but you never had a say in that

00:23:08.340 because they were trying to balance the people with the states.

00:23:12.540 So the federal government didn't get out of control.

00:23:17.880 So the state of Texas, the state of New York,

00:23:20.600 would always send somebody in who is just watching the back of New York.

00:23:59.500 court and they'd have to make a decision based not on politics or whatever feel good today

00:24:05.340 or whatever they believe but what the founders wrote in the constitution we haven't done that

00:24:11.220 in a long time so you want to complain about it's not working maybe we should try it the original

00:24:53.900 So what they'll do is they'll be about five to 10 years away from this vote, and then everybody will forget what we had, and you'll forget about, wait, wait, health care was a lot better in 2010 than it is now.
