00:00:47.400 of new anti-donald trump books tell-alls from people who are in the family who are in the

00:01:43.400 you're listening to the best of the glenn beck program

00:01:53.480 in a world where nothing makes any sense whatsoever a guy who was absolutely celebrated

00:02:03.840 for the last five years for his play on broadway hamilton uh lynn manuel miranda oh this is a good

00:02:10.740 story what a hero the guy is oh yeah because he took white people and made them black um if you 0.97

00:02:16.880 tried the reverse of that if you had a bunch of black people that you decided yeah i'm gonna i'm 0.85

00:02:22.260 gonna put white actors in there can you imagine they'd tear down the theater oh yeah and we've seen 1.00

00:02:26.280 it i mean they've canceled all of these people they have to come crying and begging for your

00:02:30.300 forgiveness for accepting a job they were offered but okay they made all the founding fathers black and 0.86

00:02:35.160 and uh lin-manuel miranda i think is hispanic and he was playing hamilton so uh it was celebrated by

00:02:41.900 every person on the left bill and hillary clinton loved it the obamas adored it and when mike pence went

00:02:49.200 to go see it like he got booed in the audience right remember like that's how woke they were oh so

00:02:53.780 mike pence can't even see our play right because it's woke and wonderful and he doesn't deserve it

00:03:00.760 he doesn't deserve it well now all of a sudden oh that's really problematic they say good things

00:03:06.300 about the founding fathers and you know the founding fathers were actually white people and

00:03:10.120 and they were slave owners and that's the only thing we can remember about them and can we talk

00:03:14.580 about how problematic it is that you're um uh taking black culture and with the music and just

00:03:20.300 taking it away from black people and putting it a foist right upon the audience through a hispanic 1.00

00:03:27.160 man and and and white historical slave owners all of which is problematic all of it's problematic all

00:03:33.180 of a sudden yeah that's problematic huh it's so amazing by the way do we did we uh does anybody

00:03:40.420 know the founding fathers didn't actually rap did we did people know that pardon me yeah they didn't

00:03:46.440 the first rap song was like 1979 i think something rappers delight by the sugar hill gang that's right

00:03:54.940 yeah yeah that was that was post founding fathers interestingly that song started in 1979 still

00:04:01.180 going today it's still it's the longest song i don't know all i remember them talking about dinner

00:04:07.260 one of them was talking about having dinner over someone's house oh that's right that's all i remember

00:04:12.480 about that song it's like look that's an interesting thing not not a lot of people do it not a lot of

00:04:17.200 people sing and perform about having dinner over someone's house the only part i remember about that song

00:04:22.440 is wham bam ho jam holiday in and uh that meant a lot to me it meant a lot to me oh you have a

00:04:30.140 bumper sticker on your car it says wham bam ho jam holiday in yeah i was wondering i wonder why he has

00:04:35.820 that now i know if your girlfriend diss you then you take her friend i think is how okay goes something

00:04:41.480 like that hey yeah i want to make sure that everyone knows that we are not being critical in any way

00:04:46.740 of those high level lyrics no i love them i'm very critical of the constitution and our founding

00:04:51.480 documents but not that's trash delight but it is interesting because they have turned on this

00:04:58.700 now completely uh that they are saying that it is a big problem that uh that this you you know one

00:05:07.000 of the things all of a sudden now it's a big problem right and like what's interesting about the

00:05:10.980 the hamilton thing in particular because there's so many of these stories but the hamilton one is

00:05:15.680 interesting in particular because the only reason to like hamilton is if you respect the story of the

00:05:21.840 founders like if you love our country and love how it was founded and you want a different way to

00:05:26.720 essentially get history right which is obviously a bs history but still like it's an entertaining

00:05:31.400 presentation of history but you have to like the history you have to think oh god these guys did

00:05:36.160 something great in our world because they actually do admit that yeah in the play right you can't do that

00:05:41.940 no you can't that's a big problem yeah it's so ridiculous all of these things that were designed

00:05:48.580 to be woke essentially are now not woke enough and that's the lesson you're never going to be

00:05:54.960 woke enough there's never going to be a time where you're woke enough hallie berry yesterday

00:05:59.780 hallie berry a as you may know an african-american actress she was the wasn't she the first 0.99

00:06:07.700 african-american actress to be nominated for best actress or i don't remember which one it was she

00:06:12.660 was in she she uh can't think of the name of the movie it was sort of a dark movie she was in

00:06:18.260 um but it was it was very well received monsters ball uh monsters ball yeah yeah yeah and so she

00:06:25.740 she now is in um retreat mode because she had the audacity to accept a job acting in a role as a 0.99

00:06:37.020 transgendered person now she herself she's not trans she is female one of the 911 biological female 0.77

00:06:45.780 biological female and i think identifies as such i think i'm not mistaken i believe so and she now

00:06:52.220 is had to you know i can't i should not have taken this role i'm so sorry she's apologizing to

00:06:58.200 everybody and what's funny about it it's like this used to be the sign of a woke actress right

00:07:04.140 right beautiful woman yep who would take the role as i mean we saw it in with with charlie 1.00

00:07:10.160 in monster and all uglied up in was that monster's ball or was that monster's ball and monster are two 0.80

00:07:16.660 different monster okay i think it was monster monster was yeah the female serial serial killer 1.00

00:07:21.360 and she was celebrated she had no makeup on and she didn't comb her hair yeah so she really took a

00:07:27.020 risk there there was like a kind of a comedian's trope over the years where it would be like you'd make

00:07:32.140 fun of the actress who took the the role as a handicapped person or uh the very the very straight 0.79

00:07:38.720 actress who would take a job as a gay person to show that they they understood those communities 0.72

00:07:43.840 and that used to be the thing that would get you woke and get you an oscar so now the thing is you 0.87

00:07:47.940 can't ugly yourself up you actually have to get an ugly actress to play that part yes that's actually 1.00

00:07:53.440 a beautiful woman she can't play an ugly part yeah what about ugly actresses how do they get gigs 1.00

00:07:57.940 what about what i want to see that happen i i do too i want to see that happen now it can't be far

00:08:04.600 away it can't be what about taking what if there was someone who was not believable in their life

00:08:10.160 and you're you're replacing them with an actress who's a good actress i think you'd have to have a 1.00

00:08:14.320 crappy actress play the role of someone who can't act definitely i mean it's it sounds ridiculous charlie 0.96

00:08:20.620 had a similar incident lately right with a transgender i think it was a transgender i think it was her yeah

00:08:25.280 yeah this one i was fascinated by was was kristin bell you may remember she's married to dax shepherd

00:08:30.980 she's in a bunch of commercials and she's been in various good commercials together she and her

00:08:36.100 husband they're kind of a nice little couple i think yeah yeah and so she took a role on a cartoon 0.70

00:08:40.840 that i think was on i think is on netflix and she plays a um an ex a character called molly on a show

00:08:48.660 named central central park i've never seen the show but this is her statement she came out now that

00:08:54.780 the she it's a voice of a child who is mixed race now she's not a child right she's not a child 0.97

00:09:00.560 right right what she's not a child and she's not mixed race and she was playing this role on this

00:09:05.760 cartoon this is what she said this is her her her statement about her stepping down as the voice of a

00:09:13.240 freaking cartoon character this is a time to acknowledge our acts of complicity here is one of

00:09:21.200 mine playing the character of molly on central park shows a lack of awareness of my pervasive

00:09:27.720 privilege casting a mixed race character with a white actress undermines the specificity of the

00:09:35.180 mixed race and black american experience okay first it's mixed race so you can't have a black person do 1.00

00:09:43.160 it right because it's it's the specificity of the mixed race experience is that you have to find

00:09:48.300 someone who's mixed race and and like look you're not she acts as if she was like an accountant for 1.00

00:09:55.480 the the ss like you didn't like you play you were the voice you're not complicit you played the voice

00:10:04.260 of a cartoon character relax first of all yeah and and you know the was anybody calling for her to step

00:10:12.920 down for that role i don't think so i think you always get one or two activists that say this you know

00:10:17.260 it's the same thing that started like years ago when they were like you know what apu on the

00:10:20.320 symptoms simpsons is a bad is it problematic yeah and at first everyone's like what like you know

00:10:26.500 first of all he's like he's seemingly a very good guy on the show one of the only people on the show

00:10:30.960 who's a good person uh and uh you know he's one of the most prominent roles and like yeah it's voiced

00:10:36.400 by you know hankazaria but you know he's just a just a silly voice to be okay used to be okay now not

00:10:42.260 okay now who's gone um now you might say to yourself well they could just get a mixed race 0.97

00:10:47.840 character right to go along yeah no you can't do that either oh you can't no because um uh jenny slade

00:10:55.720 uh jenny slade is a another comedic actress who of course you remember from all of her uh works all

00:11:02.220 the jenny slade across the spectrum things that she does and does so well yeah the entire spectrum

00:11:07.700 we're all we're fans of all of her yeah i mean they're all multi-format media empire or

00:11:14.360 entertainment empire i just ordered her eight track collection did you really yes and it just

00:11:20.060 came in it's incredible so she stepped down as well as the voice of a freaking cartoon because she is 1.00

00:11:25.840 also uh white and playing the role of a mixed race now i don't know why this is so widespread in 0.96

00:11:30.860 hollywood i don't know why they're just realizing it now here's her quote now again she is a white 0.96

00:11:36.520 person but she's also jewish okay all right um so again jewish you could say religion race all 0.99

00:11:42.980 sorts of different things people say about that but she she says this at the start of the show i

00:11:47.940 reasoned with myself that it was permissible for me to play missy which is a freaking cartoon character

00:11:53.400 by the way because her mom is jewish and white as am i but missy is also black and black characters 0.99

00:12:00.940 on an animated show should be played by black people now what about the white part the white

00:12:07.220 part right she is a literal match white and jewish of the mom of this character and even that's not

00:12:14.520 specific enough she had to abandon her job and i don't know her but it doesn't i don't does she have 0.99

00:12:20.680 does she have a lot of this stuff gone does she have offers of this level coming in like crazy i mean

00:12:25.280 she's you know kirsten bell her husband hosts one of the most popular podcasts in the country is also

00:12:29.640 an actor they make plenty of money they've got a four million dollar house they're doing okay i don't

00:12:34.260 know is jenny slate doing okay she might be i don't know anything about her other than the eight track

00:12:37.620 collection that i just bought so i don't know but like this is what she says she says engaging um

00:12:42.920 playing missy she's engaging in an act of erasure of black people ending my portrayal of missy is one

00:12:50.080 step in a lifelong process of uncovering the racism in my actions first of all in this particular case

00:12:56.540 you are literally not erasing a black person you're drawing one it's the exact opposite of black erasure 0.97

00:13:02.720 you're actually drawing a black person okay that's number one number two i know pat we're supposed to 0.97

00:13:11.080 understand the stories of these women and they own their own truth i hope you know that they own

00:13:17.940 their own truth right that's beautiful so who are we to disagree exactly they acknowledge their

00:13:23.060 own racism when they say they're a racist i guess they're racists i don't want to take that away from

00:13:29.020 them i would say that doesn't sound very racist but you know what they're saying it's right they're

00:13:34.060 racist and i don't want to take their truth away from well it's your white privilege saying that it's 1.00

00:13:37.740 not racist right it is racist it is racist it's their big fat dirty racists yes they are basically 0.99

00:13:43.340 david duke in a cocktail dress thank you and i'm glad they have admitted that and expressed their 0.99

00:13:48.700 truth i wouldn't have necessarily seen it that way but they've told us that they're racist so we must

00:13:55.420 accept their racism who are we who are we i'm not a racist no if i was doing a character uh like missy

00:14:02.300 i would say why am i a man doing it right say how dare you yeah what if it's a trans child and then i

00:14:08.220 say well i'm not a child they'd say um well i guess if you are identifying as a child then you

00:14:13.480 are this is the thing you just need to get out ahead of these things before you accept the role

00:14:17.540 you need to identify in the nine different ways that define the character which by the way we are

00:14:23.200 talking about a job we the only requirement of this job is pretending to be something that you're not

00:14:31.020 it is acting it's legitimately fundamentally the only thing you have to do in this job

00:14:38.560 is pretending you're someone that you're not and they still can't get this through their heads

00:14:43.340 you're never gonna have unless you get the person you're gonna have to do every movie's gonna have

00:14:47.740 to be like private parts with howard stern where they all play themselves because it's the only person

00:14:51.480 you're allowed to play i can be specific as as howard stern i can play howard stern as robin

00:14:59.280 quivers i can play robin quivers outside of that how can you even have this industry anymore

00:15:03.760 this is all nonsensical and there's no limiting principle here pat you know there's no reason

00:15:09.200 why what i'm saying as howard stern can only play howard stern is untrue there's no there's no part of

00:15:16.260 their reasoning that makes it so that wouldn't be the case there's no no quite the opposite limiting

00:15:21.720 principle on quite the opposite yeah yeah you're listening to the best of the glenn beck program

00:15:30.680 stew was just talking about this video where a uh a young woman asks other young people

00:15:46.360 about the statistics of how many unarmed black people were killed by police last year

00:15:53.980 um and so the the guesses are wide ranging i would say uh but the answer of course well they they get

00:16:04.100 into the answer uh i think we've said it enough times it was actually nine nine unarmed uh black it

00:16:10.220 was it 18 for whites was it 18 unarmed whites last year something to that i think it was about double

00:16:15.640 um but here's here were some of the guesses so um of course police brutality has been a very big

00:16:21.560 subject lately how many unarmed black men do you think were killed by police um over the past year

00:16:28.260 over the past year um i think i think blacks get killed by the police unarmed way more than white

00:16:37.600 people but um like have you seen any numbers or statistics like do you know if it's a couple hundred

00:16:42.000 or a couple thousand by chance i don't know the exact statistics offhand thousands thousands right

00:16:49.460 now i believe i saw a post that said that right now 493 have been killed just this year

00:16:55.300 how i can't put a number on that because i genuinely do not know i honestly don't know the

00:17:01.600 the answer the honesty at least yeah um and you know as you're out there protesting shouldn't you

00:17:07.940 know something like that shouldn't shouldn't you have done a little research on this and know what

00:17:11.780 you're talking about know what you're protesting yeah the order of events is important learn then

00:17:16.480 protest exactly understand the issue you're talking about then go march that would be nice yeah it would

00:17:23.200 make a lot of sense a thousand a thousand at least at least more members of the black community

00:17:30.340 compared to members of the white community as a whole are stop this one for a second but i love this

00:17:35.880 one because he he realizes he doesn't understand he doesn't know the number yeah okay and then he

00:17:41.400 decides to back off to something he sure is true right more members of the black community than the 1.00

00:17:46.840 white community for sure which is not true which is not true and he realizes that about halfway through

00:17:51.660 his sentence too because he's not sure of that yeah he doesn't have any stats on any of it but he

00:17:57.600 tries to fake his way through it killed in general i i think that that might not be true but yeah it isn't

00:18:03.800 anywhere in how big of a region that's in all of america yeah in america oh it would be that would

00:18:09.980 be so hard for me to say trillions it would be hard for me to even guess that i would imagine you

00:18:14.880 know probably in the dozens of thousands in the dozens of thousands at least could be hundreds of

00:18:20.080 thousands it could be millions it could be billions or trillions like stu just guessed trillions

00:18:26.200 uh is it i don't know maybe is it quadrillions i know it's at least trillions but it could be

00:18:32.420 quadrillions is it a bajillion i don't know i don't know maybe maybe what am i what am i uh

00:18:38.260 forget what i'm doing there it's uh the gun guy what was it he was what am i i saw that's sad yeah

00:18:47.240 that we've we've forgotten so quickly only 10 years after that event yep anyway there were there

00:18:52.660 were more guesses thousands probably thousands a week to if you're talking about all america yeah

00:18:58.340 monthly probably thousands monthly i i wish i knew that number but way too many than than it should

00:19:04.300 so do you think it's like a couple hundred couple thousand like do you think you can give like a

00:19:09.360 ballpark at all based off of like media reports videos you've seen i would say in the hundreds near

00:19:16.800 thousands i'm not sure do you know so i was actually reading um a statistic in the wall street journal

00:19:22.220 because i was asking people this question and i really wasn't sure either

00:19:24.580 and the wall street journal said that last year um nine unarmed black men were killed by police

00:19:30.360 you know i think wait before we get to his answer by the way in the same sentence it was nine

00:19:36.780 unarmed black people 19 unarmed white people so that's the stat from last year that's tough to hear

00:19:45.880 and when people see that yeah it just perpetuates their own bias oh sure yeah like i'm sorry it's the

00:19:53.180 truth it's reality it is a fact it doesn't perpetuate anybody's bias it just informs you

00:20:01.600 as to what reality is yeah it's not perpetuating a bias no and you know that is that's a huge thing

00:20:08.740 because i love it's it he's obviously showing his own bias by immediately saying dismissing the actual

00:20:14.760 fact of the matter only nine people were killed right uh and saying well all that does is perpetuate

00:20:20.180 bias but it's not just people random people in colleges that do this there is a story in the

00:20:24.760 washington post that came out this weekend about the washington redskins and you know the whole

00:20:29.460 redskins name controversy has been going on for for many years and uh one of the biggest talking

00:20:35.700 points and the reason it's kind of gone away for years and years was the fact that multiple polls

00:20:40.780 showed that 90 percent of of native americans were not bothered by the name this has happened over and

00:20:47.820 over and over again over and over and over again for multiple pollsters multiple years

00:20:51.580 they it's it's sort of one of those things that shuts down the debate all right why are we pissed

00:20:56.760 off about it if 90 right when they're not and so there was a a um a story in the washington post

00:21:03.720 which basically came out and apologized for their own poll where they said hey you know we're sorry

00:21:11.500 the shutdown debate over this issue because our poll was basically responsible for no one caring

00:21:19.660 about this anymore and it's like wait a minute are you a news organization that's why are you apologizing

00:21:26.780 for for reporting accurately the group you say should be offended that isn't again we're we're always

00:21:33.600 doing this where we say oh as white people we can tell you native american african american

00:21:39.700 uh what you should be offended by and if you're not appropriately offended the way you should be

00:21:46.160 we'll just take the thing off the market there will be no more washington rescans there will be no more

00:21:51.840 and jemima we'll just get rid of it so therefore you can't be lured into the sense of not being offended

00:21:57.260 over this thing you're not offended by i'm actually offended that you keep leaving off that list

00:22:01.840 uh you mentioned at jemima where's uncle ben why have you chosen you know a black man who's smiling

00:22:10.360 on the label what a stereotype that means that they think black people smile all the time

00:22:17.720 i know i don't understand the uncle ben thing i really don't get it jemima i mean there were there

00:22:23.700 was a time where jemima was used in a way that was not uh a long time ago a long time ago and

00:22:29.300 aunt jemima you know we brought this up african americans buy aunt jemima at like four times the 1.00

00:22:35.280 rate of any other group so they're apparently not offended by the label right because they bring

00:22:39.400 it into their home on a regular basis how could you be think about this for a second i'm trying

00:22:42.700 to think of what the right product is uh you know if you were an african american and you go to buy

00:22:48.520 a product there's lots of products with white smiling faces on them here's one that has a black

00:22:53.620 smiling face on it a motherly figure who's taking care of of breakfast for you because she makes 1.00

00:22:59.400 good pancakes pancakes yeah exactly syrup and pancakes of course you'd be drawn to that product

00:23:04.280 as an african american because you don't see it as like some racist thing you see it as like you know

00:23:08.520 hey here's someone who's a friendly face that's familiar and it seems to have been targeted

00:23:13.220 specifically at african americans who buy it at gigantic rates listen to this quote from washington

00:23:18.660 post this is the headline of the story i'm talking about a survey explores how native americans feel

00:23:23.500 about the name washington redskins no it's not that survey this one is new like what it's your

00:23:31.520 survey why why are you degrading your own work think about this the washington post in a time

00:23:37.760 where media organizations are struggling came up with a poll in 2016 that totally changed a debate

00:23:44.020 to the factual arrangement in which minorities opinions were respected and they're apologizing

00:23:50.440 for it they go on to say the post poll has been blamed for killing the debate the truth is our

00:23:56.620 collective response did and that never should have happened the name is a dictionary defined slur

00:24:03.020 whether or not 10 of native americans or 50 of your co-workers or your favorite aunt acknowledge it

00:24:10.040 like what you're totally dismissing the opinion of the group you say is offended as if they don't

00:24:17.100 matter at all and and and that is like excusable in this in this circumstance um and by the way they

00:24:24.120 they decided they they got a new poll this one said only 70 percent of native americans didn't care

00:24:29.060 about it so now now they're constant beating them over the head for multiple decades what do you want to

00:24:34.480 bet it was a push pull where they were yeah totally was so they gave them 40 uh emotions

00:24:40.540 because they wanted to get okay maybe that top line number yep isn't great but if we can get kind

00:24:46.100 of fine like some of them are offended we can highlight that part this is what the uh this is

00:24:50.660 they had to put this in their own article quote the reasons they gave for feeling uh for feeling that

00:24:55.900 way uh uh is that they weren't offended um it's it's just a name it honors or represents their heritage

00:25:02.600 and people are overly sensitive that's what the native americans said the survey presented how dare

00:25:07.860 they they don't know any better than they don't know we've got to help them be offended we got to

00:25:12.560 help them um the survey presented respondents with more than 40 emotions and asked them to indicate

00:25:17.240 whether each represented how they felt about the team's name the word picked most was proud

00:25:23.440 they're trying so hard to tell native americans they should hate this name

00:25:31.940 and like the story of the logo is amazing like it was it used to just be an r that was the logo for

00:25:40.260 the redskins and a native american came in and they used a real native american as a model because

00:25:46.640 the native americans felt like it shouldn't if it's redskins it shouldn't just be an r you should

00:25:50.020 have us represented so they came up with this great logo that was designed by native americans

00:25:55.920 using a real native american model and that's offensive they're gonna get rid of the logo now

00:26:01.120 supposedly it's not 100 confirmed but espn is reporting that the name is going to change logo

00:26:06.960 still up in the air um now we don't know the name is going to change did you see their statement

00:26:11.720 i mean their statement was like i mean dan snyder is is he caving in now that's that's what they

00:26:17.840 believe so the the statement came out from the redskins which was like in this time we feel we

00:26:24.380 need to look at the name and study whether it's okay for people like it was one of those for you

00:26:31.260 know and it certainly read as if they were going to overturn it yeah the reporting afterward has said

00:26:35.960 they are going to do it within the next couple months they think before the 2020 season they will

00:26:41.160 change the name of the redskins before the 2020 season reporting's been wrong before but that is the

00:26:45.980 current uh state of the reporting uh so we'll see he has been so daniel snyder the owner has been so

00:26:52.760 steadfast on that yeah and he said we'll never change it pretty amazing how much he stood up to

00:26:57.660 this nonsense as an eagles fan it's the only reason i like the redskins it's the only thing i've ever

00:27:02.020 done that i've actually liked and again like i don't have any i don't have any affinity for the

00:27:05.940 redskins name it's just the folding for no reason when they have the fact nobody's offended on their

00:27:11.740 side it started obviously as a a piece of of of essentially propaganda to honor the washington

00:27:20.860 to honor the uh the native americans um they were honoring the coach at the time several players at

00:27:26.080 the time you go back to the history of the word it was a native american term used to describe

00:27:30.640 themselves uh this is unquestioned in history like even people who oppose it and actually know the

00:27:36.300 effects don't question that they say that at some point some people use it in a derogatory way

00:27:41.220 although there's much more evidence that it was not used that way like it was it's not that it's

00:27:45.920 never been used that way but again i asked the audience and i asked you pat have you ever honestly

00:27:51.560 in your entire life ever heard one person use that term in a derogatory way towards native americans no

00:27:59.380 ever i have literally never heard it the only time i've ever heard it is there's one quote from a

00:28:06.280 minnesota newspaper in 1863 that every one of these stories highlights where they did use it

00:28:12.600 in a derogatory way but of course was not around in 1863 did not get that but we know that it started

00:28:17.400 as a good term we know that when the team named it uh it was a good term it was meant to honor

00:28:22.780 native americans but 160 years ago somebody did use it in a derogatory way and it's like amazing

00:28:28.460 fundamentally pat when you're naming your team you don't name it after something you hate

00:28:33.600 right right you name it after something you want to root for and honor you know i wouldn't name

00:28:38.700 my team the north texas avocados because avocados are evil i hate them so i wouldn't name my team

00:28:45.680 after that i'd name it the cheesy fries because i like cheesy fries it makes sense tough but doesn't

00:28:52.920 sound menacing but okay right it doesn't have to be menacing it doesn't have to be yeah i mean the new

00:28:58.720 our pelican the new orleans pelicans don't seem all that no it doesn't no it really doesn't

00:29:03.080 this is the best of the glenbeck program

00:29:09.400 uh there's also something speaking of uh nfl quarterbacks um patrick mahomes had a pretty

00:29:20.440 good day yesterday oh my god where he signed a fairly significant contract uh well a bit of an

00:29:25.980 extension of a current one yeah he's got a two-year deal right now and they extended it 10 more years

00:29:30.320 so 12 years years 477 million dollars and it could go up to 503 million 503 that's half a billion

00:29:38.140 dollars now my i think the highest ever for a quarterback was like gosh what 150 160 something

00:29:43.800 like that uh it's like three times as big as any other quarterbacks contract in history the previous

00:29:48.960 biggest sports contract was uh mike trout i think with the angels which was 425 or 430 over 10 years

00:29:55.920 it's a little more common in baseball i mean nobody gets that kind of contract and that was fully

00:29:59.940 guaranteed completely he's got 430 million definitely coming to him trout trout yes that's not the case

00:30:06.320 not the case for mahomes but still you know 140 is fully guaranteed which is pretty that's not bad but

00:30:13.420 again that's more than like any other quarterback ever right for their entire contract value guaranteed no

00:30:18.680 matter what happens now he could break a leg and never play again like theisman which you certainly

00:30:24.240 don't wish on anybody uh but he'd make 140 million dollars and by the way he's 23 years old

00:30:30.000 477 million dollars coming to him he's 23 incredible incredible

00:30:37.120 you
