00:04:22.600 it is the fastest road to failure. And I'm going to lay this case out for you. I want you to ask

00:04:29.280 yourself, you just got out of high school, let's say you were in 12 years of a really broken system.

00:04:37.880 Is that broken system? Do you want more of that? Do you think that what they didn't prepare you for

00:04:45.640 on moving out of your house, even understanding financing, being, being able to read or write or

00:04:52.020 do math, do you think those people will suddenly prepare you for success in the next four years

00:04:58.780 while you're paying for it? Because here are the facts. Listen to these. Today, only 37% of

00:05:07.700 high school seniors are proficient in reading. 37%. In math, it's worse. Only 24% of your fellow

00:05:19.760 graduates in high school can do math. That's the foundation. Here's what happened. This system

00:05:30.720 took the hard-earned money, really, from your mom and dad through crippling taxes. We spent more

00:05:37.680 money per pupil than anyone else in the world. And what do you have to show for it? Now that same

00:05:48.640 system, the same experts to design that nightmare want to want you to step up to the plate and bet

00:05:56.220 100 grand or more on four years of what? The same. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing

00:06:06.880 and expecting different results. Here's what's going to happen. You're going to take on debt,

00:06:11.440 $37,000 on average, often more than $50,000. You're also going to give up earnings, another $120,000

00:06:20.240 in lost wages over four years. And then what? Those who are graduating now are trying to tell you the

00:06:28.720 lesson. Over half of the graduates are underemployed or working jobs now that never required a degree

00:06:36.980 at all. Those jobs don't exist. If your major is psychology, communications, anthropology,

00:06:45.680 or any of the new studies programs, odds are, listen to this, your degree will carry a negative

00:06:54.160 return on investment. So in other words, you'll never pay that off. Never. You'll never make

00:07:00.040 enough money to even break even on that education. Now, maybe you're okay with being straddled with

00:07:08.940 educational debt for the next 20 years. I'm not. I don't think a lot of people are. I know your

00:07:14.500 parents are not. The system is going to tell you in four years, don't worry, we'll pass that back.

00:07:21.300 We'll pass that debt back on to the shoulders of who? They'll say the government, but it'll be your

00:07:26.440 mom and dad again. So your mom and dad that paid through the nose for your elementary and your high

00:07:32.160 school education, then tried everything they could to help you through your college education,

00:07:36.540 they're going to be saddled with the debt of your and everybody else's education. What kind of system

00:07:41.960 is that? That is a con. This is the biggest con in our history. The house always seems to win here.

00:07:52.100 You never do. Your parents never do. The other thing they'll convince you of is we, that's why we

00:07:57.980 need violent revolution. No, we just simply need people like you saying, I finally get it. And I'm

00:08:02.920 not playing that game. I'm not gonna play that game anymore. If you do play the game, here's what's

00:08:09.520 gonna happen. You're gonna send out resumes. Doors are not gonna open. Many are gonna double down with

00:08:15.340 graduate school because maybe it'll get better later. Another con. Throwing more time, more money

00:08:20.720 after the bad because they can't admit to themselves this has been a waste. That's human nature.

00:08:28.180 Don't fall into that. Because here's the darker cost. In those years you spend in college,

00:08:36.920 you won't just be spending your hard-earned money and all of your hard-earned time to what? Memorize

00:08:43.740 facts that you'll promptly forget? You're going to be taught despair. You are going to be trained to

00:08:51.240 believe the system is rigged and there is no hope but through destruction, violence, and blame of other

00:08:58.440 people. That's the education that the universities are actually selling and it is a lie.

00:09:18.220 and I don't know if you can relate to this, universities are the record companies of the

00:09:23.120 old world. Okay? In the day, in my day, record companies controlled who made it. They charged you,

00:09:30.800 they owned you, they told you what to play, and then came something called Napster.

00:09:37.300 Napster was going to put all of these companies out of business, but the record companies colluded with

00:09:42.660 government and did everything they could to put it out of business, and they thought they won.

00:09:48.180 See, this is why there's a push for socialism and communism or anything like that, because they

00:09:52.600 need a big government to enforce for the oligarchs. That's what they need. 1.00

00:11:08.320 a sham. Well, what is a sham are those taxi cab medallions. They were crazy. For a while,

00:11:13.500 they were selling for like a million dollars. You couldn't get enough of them

00:11:16.520 because there's only a limited number of cabs and the city got their money and you could buy one of

00:11:22.500 those medallions for a million bucks. And so somebody a long time ago who's in a working class

00:11:27.260 could buy a medallion. And in the end, that would be their retirement. They could sell that

00:11:31.340 and they'd have their retirement money. They could pay off their house or whatever.

00:11:35.400 That was a way to wealth for a lot of people in the taxi cab business in New York City.

00:11:39.900 About 15 years ago, they were the price of 10 physical cabs. One cab, one plate for one cab.

00:11:50.200 You could buy 10 physical cabs without the plate or the plate. Okay? Million dollars plus.

00:12:24.220 And education is being democratized exactly the same way. Today, you can audit. You want to go to a

00:12:31.140 great university? MIT. Did you know you could get every class and audit every class at MIT for free?

00:13:49.080 They won't. BYU, BYU Provo, BYU Idaho, BYU Hawaii, what is it, like $5,000 a year to go?

00:14:12.380 But Harvard won't. Yale won't. Because they're not in that business. They don't practice what they

00:22:06.780 And then it became even more distorted. And it was like, cause you have to now have money and you

00:22:11.280 have to have the right labels and, you know, I've got to drive a Beamer and whatever. Okay.

00:22:17.220 None of that was success. That's not what America is supposed to be. America is supposed to be the

00:22:22.080 place where you can chart your own course. You know, I, I, I want to say again, I so appreciate

00:24:13.500 But now you're being told marriage is old fashioned. Having kids isn't important. Kids are just a

00:24:18.840 burden. No, kids are not a burden. Marriage is unbelievable. You're being told happiness comes

00:24:26.860 from kids. Keep your options open. No. No. If you don't keep your options open, you're not going

00:24:35.840 to be able to chase those experiences. You got to have no commitments. No, no, no. You should be

00:24:40.740 committed to a few things. What if the greatest lie this generation is being told is that freedom means

00:24:48.720 never being tied down? What if that's the biggest lie? Let me make a case. Do you know that the longest

00:24:57.540 running human, the longest running study on human happiness is an 80 year old project done by Harvard

00:25:05.660 and they have come to one conclusion? What is happiness? What gets you to happiness?

00:25:12.860 happiness. It's not money. It's not fame. It's not even if you have your health, you've got

00:25:18.900 it. No, it's not even health. It's relationships, stable, loving, long term relationships. The people

00:25:28.780 who they have found over 80 years in this study, the ones that are the happiest, the ones who live

00:25:34.560 the longest are the ones that made the scary choice to commit.

00:25:42.900 Marriage isn't a chain. I hate people who say, I'll borrow a chain. It's not a chain. It's an anchor.

00:25:50.000 It anchors you to things that are true. It holds you steady when things are really stormy.

00:25:59.400 I mean, we are living in a time where temporary jobs, you're going to have to retool every five years,

00:26:03.240 temporary housing, temporary situations. I mean, marriage is really a radical thing.

00:26:09.680 And it's the only place that you can say, this is forever and mean it. Now I hedged my bet. I told

00:26:15.960 my wife, I'd like a prenup because I'd just gotten out of divorce. I'd like a prenup. And she said,

00:26:20.740 nope, I'm done. And she started to walk out and I'm like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, what,

00:26:27.340 what can we talk about? And she's like, no, there's nothing to talk about. If that's how you want to

00:26:32.200 frame our marriage. If you want to start our marriage by negotiating an end, then you're not

00:26:36.840 the guy. The guy I will marry will be the guy who will say, we're going to hit hard times and we are

00:26:43.440 going to really struggle, but we are never giving up. I'll marry that man. I won't marry you with a 0.89

00:26:50.940 prenup. She was right. It's a place you say forever and forever is what you actually are

00:27:04.480 craving forever. And then children, you think the world is dark. You think the future isn't worth

00:27:11.000 much. Hold your child for the very first time. Look into their eyes. Your entire perspective changes.

00:27:36.800 live something bigger. I've learned more lessons than I've ever taught my children. I have learned more

00:27:42.380 lessons from my children. And every strong civilization was built on strong families.

00:27:48.840 Rome, all of it. America. John Adams wrote, the foundation of national morality must be laid

00:27:55.460 in private families. You want the government out of your business? Good. Then make your family

00:28:02.840 eternal and private and moral. The collapse of a family is always the collapse of the civilization

00:28:13.720 and the culture. So here's the truth. Families and marriage, it's not the end of your freedom. It is

00:28:19.680 the beginning of your purpose. I know this to be true. Without that, without a serious relationship,

00:28:32.240 with somebody in your life that you're sharing your life with, it is just a series of disconnected

00:28:37.420 moments. And I am sorry if you are looking for a spouse. I'm sorry if you are on this path and you're

00:28:43.200 like, I know all this, Glenn. You will find that person. Just don't give up. And if you are young, start

00:28:52.000 looking.
