Transcript

00:00:00.000 Hello, America. Wow. Another bright and sunny day right here in the U.S. of A.
00:00:08.500 Almost a surreal day and surreal night last night.
00:00:13.300 President gives like this spooky movie speech.
00:00:17.140 And then then you find out that Tom Hanks and his wife have COVID-19.
00:00:23.960 I mean, then they they welcome everybody to. Hey, welcome to the NBA.
00:00:30.900 Going to be a great game. Unfortunately, all of those here in the stadium, you need to go home right now.
00:00:36.960 But everybody's completely safe. Wait a minute. We've already gathered in a large crowd.
00:00:40.960 What is the problem? Well, we find out even more. We have that update.
00:00:44.980 We also have some breaking news on Andrei Talashanko, a guy who was on his way to testify in Congress yesterday.
00:00:51.680 Until one senator, gee, I wonder who, said, we don't need this testimony.
00:00:58.200 We'll get to that information that you absolutely need to hear.
00:01:02.520 The Michigan, the Michigan guy who is, you know, at the auto plant and Joe Biden said, you're full of crap.
00:01:09.120 He's on the program today.
00:01:10.860 Also, Jeff Brown, a guy who can tell us exactly what's happening with any kind of vaccine or cure or any kind of medicine on COVID-19.
00:01:23.120 Actually, kind of a bright spot in today's world.
00:01:26.600 It all begins right now.
00:01:28.320 You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:01:44.660 All right. I want to give you our coronavirus update here quickly.
00:01:47.580 We have confirmed cases now one hundred and twenty seven thousand.
00:01:52.880 That's up from one hundred and twenty six thousand yesterday.
00:01:55.880 Total confirmed deaths four thousand six hundred and forty one.
00:01:59.380 That's up about three hundred patients that have recovered.
00:02:02.740 Sixty eight thousand plus now one hundred and twenty five countries have confirmed cases up from one hundred and twenty yesterday.
00:02:09.680 This is the best news.
00:02:11.440 The the case is considered serious, requiring hospitalization is down again today, down from twelve percent to eleven percent.
00:02:21.880 We now have one thousand three hundred and thirty six confirmed cases here in the United States and thirty eight deaths.
00:02:27.920 That number is about to go through the roof and you will understand in the next 30 minutes exactly why and what to do about it.
00:02:34.780 All 50 states have at least now one confirmed case or one presumptive case.
00:02:40.140 President Trump banned travel from mainland Europe last night for 30 days.
00:02:45.760 UK travel not currently affected.
00:02:48.300 They seem to be doing pretty well with this ban will limit human travel.
00:02:52.680 Cargo only travel will not face any restrictions at this time.
00:02:56.920 The order is effective as of today, March 12th, 2020.
00:03:01.640 President Trump indicated that he will consider other travel bans from any hot spots as a means to follow the CDC recommendations
00:03:08.360 to prevent bringing more infected people into the U.S.
00:03:12.320 Inbound travel to the U.S.
00:03:13.960 is now restricted for over a third of the world's population, including China, the U.K., Korea, Japan, Hong Kong and Iran.
00:03:23.000 But we all know we have the press.
00:03:26.680 We all know he's only doing this to Europe because they're different.
00:03:31.000 They look so different in Germany and Sweden and France.
00:03:38.540 The Congress was told yesterday that COVID-19 is 10 times more lethal than the flu.
00:03:45.960 If that comes as a shock to you that you haven't been paying attention, that's right now 10 times more fatal than the flu.
00:03:55.340 Containing the influx of infected people coming from other countries is super important, but also social distancing and isolation of the sick.
00:04:07.020 Bottom line is Congress was told this is going to get much worse quickly.
00:04:12.140 The U.S. stock market is taking a beating.
00:04:14.880 We've now into the bear market.
00:04:17.560 We must be doing OK.
00:04:19.160 We already closed once today.
00:04:21.520 We took another breather on the stock market.
00:04:23.660 It was open for maybe 10 minutes before they can.
00:04:27.240 You stop coughing while I do this.
00:04:28.640 Do it's really freaking me out, man.
00:04:32.040 Can you just check on the stock market?
00:04:34.840 I don't see it up in front of me how we're doing.
00:04:37.100 We we took another 10 minute breather.
00:04:39.340 I'm shocked that those things work.
00:04:41.740 But this is something that was put into the stock market as a safety valve.
00:04:45.340 Just in case panic starts currently down 1,900 points, 8 percent.
00:04:50.520 How much?
00:04:51.020 We were down as much as 10 percent this morning.
00:04:54.560 It stopped at seven.
00:04:55.660 Then it shot back up to 10.
00:04:57.080 The next time they stop it, if it has to be stopped today, we'll be at 13 percent losses.
00:05:01.280 They'll stop it for 10 minutes.
00:05:02.880 Hopefully everybody gain their senses.
00:05:04.660 And then it officially closes for the day if we ever hit 20 percent.
00:05:10.340 So they stop it at 7 percent, then at 13 percent, then they stop it for the day at 20.
00:05:16.400 Hopefully we won't get to that.
00:05:18.280 But I will tell you, we are in for a very long haul.
00:05:24.000 This is not something that is going to be over quickly.
00:05:27.140 President Trump also taking a beating in his approval rating.
00:05:32.060 Daily tracking poll, he stood at 1 percent net approval.
00:05:36.520 That's approve minus disapprove on February 25th.
00:05:41.160 Yesterday, it just came out.
00:05:42.660 He is now 11 points underwater.
00:05:44.860 That's a 12 point swing on the online phone based survey.
00:05:50.000 The president's handling of coronavirus cited as the major reason for the shift in voter attitudes.
00:05:56.680 This is a ridiculous charge, in my opinion.
00:06:00.300 Are there things that we could have done faster?
00:06:02.900 Yes.
00:06:03.780 Are there things we could have done differently?
00:06:05.540 Yes.
00:06:06.940 But I don't.
00:06:09.060 I mean, he gets blamed for whatever he does.
00:06:11.940 Yesterday, they were, I can't believe he's not doing enough.
00:06:14.880 OK, we're going to cancel all air travel.
00:06:17.900 For anybody who wants to come here for the next 30 days from, you know, Europe, where it's just exploding.
00:06:24.100 I can't believe he's doing that.
00:06:25.620 Do you know what it's going to go?
00:06:26.720 I mean, he can't win.
00:06:29.260 Joe Biden staffer accuses of Trump of deciding to let coronavirus get out of hand.
00:06:34.620 This is a senior staffer.
00:06:36.020 The digital director of the campaign tweeted yesterday.
00:06:38.980 Sure seems like this is getting out of hand.
00:06:40.920 And Donald Trump decided to let it be this way.
00:06:44.120 The tweet comes as Trump asked all Americans to put politics aside, stop the partisanship and unify as one nation and one family.
00:06:53.580 The calls for the staffer to apologize, gone unanswered.
00:06:57.860 Nobody's answering that phone.
00:06:59.140 Maybe because maybe because Joe Biden's expected to answer.
00:07:02.160 And he's like, I keep hearing this ringing noise.
00:07:05.260 I don't know what it is.
00:07:06.780 The WHO finally calls COVID-19 a pandemic.
00:07:12.820 We've known this for a while.
00:07:14.920 They actually said yesterday speculation, I should say those around suggested that the WHO did not call this a pandemic of a couple of weeks earlier when we all knew what it was.
00:07:28.680 It had fit the official definition.
00:07:31.780 But the reason why they didn't say that it was a pandemic is because they were afraid that people would go, wow, geez.
00:07:37.160 Well, if it's a pandemic, there's nothing we can do.
00:07:40.220 The decision came out yesterday to finally call this a pandemic because they're hoping that they can get people from throwing up their arms and saying, see, this is really no big deal.
00:07:49.780 It's a very, very big deal.
00:07:51.920 New obstacles to testing in the U.S.
00:07:54.680 Lack of critical region chemicals.
00:07:58.080 This is going to be a mounting problem.
00:08:01.060 We need certain chemicals.
00:08:03.040 We've been foolish.
00:08:05.620 This really started under Clinton and then just spiraled under control.
00:08:09.620 I've been talking about it now over three decades.
00:08:12.980 This has been a topic of of of of mine saying we are foolish to give everything to China.
00:08:22.580 They are taking control of our drugs.
00:08:25.440 And if they ever turn into an enemy, they control what we can do.
00:08:30.660 We control the medicine on the battlefield for America.
00:08:34.720 Now, the battlefield is America and it's not bullets.
00:08:38.340 It's the coronavirus and we need our own services and we need critical infrastructure here.
00:08:46.300 But this has been a 30 year spiral out of control.
00:08:50.240 It's going to take us a while between 70 million and 150 million Americans.
00:08:55.540 They're now saying are going to be infected with this fighting to make this one percent a reality.
00:09:03.420 The case fatality rate of one percent is the goal.
00:09:08.500 Let me say that again.
00:09:09.440 Fighting to make a one percent death rate a reality is a goal.
00:09:14.320 It's not automatic.
00:09:15.440 The one case, the one percent case mortality rate for covid-19 is not something that is consistent everywhere.
00:09:24.740 One percent or less is achievable and possible.
00:09:28.500 But it assumes infected people get critical medical care and every single one of us now has a role to play and we must take personal responsibility.
00:09:38.860 Your role is very simple.
00:09:41.100 Don't spread the disease.
00:09:43.660 Don't get the disease.
00:09:46.020 Don't expose yourself to large groups.
00:09:49.800 And I'm going to give you some information here in just a second that will show you this is easier than you think.
00:09:58.640 And in some ways harder than you think, only if you don't realize it's already here.
00:10:06.300 It's already here.
00:10:07.680 As we've seen in China, Iran, Italy, case fatality rates, 3.5 percent in China, 8 percent in Iran, 6 percent in Italy are probable with covid-19.
00:10:20.500 Once the hospital systems become overwhelmed, there is a goal that each of us should have.
00:10:26.960 Do everything you can to not get infected.
00:10:30.460 Wash your hands.
00:10:31.320 Don't touch your face.
00:10:32.240 Clean the surfaces that you touch all the time.
00:10:35.120 Socially distance yourself from others.
00:10:38.100 This will happen to you.
00:10:40.400 I've been saying this for a while.
00:10:41.560 We're all going to get this.
00:10:43.040 And the reason why I've been saying it is because I want people to understand, oh, this is never going to happen to me.
00:10:48.480 It's not going to come here.
00:10:49.340 It's not going to really be a problem.
00:10:50.640 It's going to happen to you.
00:10:58.100 This is the best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:10:59.980 And don't forget, rate us on iTunes.
00:11:04.600 Welcome to the Glenn Beck program.
00:11:11.280 It is it's Thursday.
00:11:14.120 What a week.
00:11:15.520 What a week.
00:11:16.800 Every day seems like a year.
00:11:18.740 I was telling somebody yesterday the other day, last night I was having a meeting and I said, you know, then this happened.
00:11:25.360 And then the very next day this happened and somebody was sitting in the meeting went, Glenn, that first thing happened this morning.
00:11:31.740 The other thing happened this afternoon.
00:11:33.880 I'm like, this is the same day.
00:11:37.220 These things are changing so fast and they're so massive that it's the same day.
00:11:43.140 This is going to accelerate.
00:11:45.240 Welcome to our good friend, Pat Gray from Pat Gray Unleashed, who should not be here because he's going to get all of us sick.
00:11:56.500 But I'm not sick.
00:11:58.980 Oh, sure.
00:11:59.360 That's what they all say.
00:12:00.380 That's what they all say.
00:12:01.520 I do feel weird, though.
00:12:02.800 This whole thing is making me feel so weird.
00:12:05.860 Do you feel I just want things to go back to normal?
00:12:08.900 I mean, I think the last straw was Tom Hanks.
00:12:11.320 I'm like, no, no.
00:12:12.580 Come on now.
00:12:13.540 Now it's real.
00:12:14.500 It's real all up in here.
00:12:16.080 Now that Tom Hanks has it.
00:12:17.480 I think Tom Hanks is this generation's Rock Hudson.
00:12:21.840 And yeah, or Jimmy Stewart.
00:12:23.340 No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
00:12:24.560 I don't mean it that way.
00:12:25.460 He is our Jimmy Stewart.
00:12:26.440 But I mean, Rock Hudson, 1985.
00:12:30.420 Nobody was talking about AIDS.
00:12:32.800 And remember, he did something with Doris Day.
00:12:35.000 In a diseased way.
00:12:36.060 He's like Rock Hudson, you're saying.
00:12:37.880 Yeah.
00:12:39.260 Just hear me out for a second.
00:12:40.700 In 1985, no one was talking about AIDS.
00:12:43.800 The president hadn't even mentioned the word AIDS.
00:12:47.400 Nobody was talking about it.
00:12:49.660 It was this weird, scary disease that was really early on.
00:12:53.560 Nobody knew what it was.
00:12:55.500 But it wasn't mainstream.
00:12:57.040 And it was something that, you know, oh, only homosexuals get.
00:12:59.740 And then it was, well, maybe just anyone can get it from coughing or kissing.
00:13:05.700 And it just turned in this nightmare.
00:13:08.480 1985, Rock Hudson does, I don't remember, a special or something with Doris Day, who he'd been in a million movies with.
00:13:15.440 And he looks horrible.
00:13:20.360 And everybody's like, what happened to Rock Hudson?
00:13:23.300 I mean, if you don't know who Rock Hudson is, he was a guy.
00:13:26.920 He was, I don't know, the Tom Cruise kind of guy.
00:13:29.840 He always looked good.
00:13:31.620 Never seemed to age.
00:13:33.280 He was really in shape.
00:13:34.880 Everything else was, you know, the guy in the 50s and 60s and 70s of, you know, just this heartthrob.
00:13:43.300 But he was gay.
00:13:44.980 Nobody knew it.
00:13:46.820 He's on with Doris Day.
00:13:48.540 Then he goes to France for some radical experimental, you know, cancer treatments.
00:13:55.540 Well, Ronald Reagan was friends with Rock for years when he was an actor.
00:13:59.940 And so Ronald Reagan calls him in France and says, Rock, are you OK?
00:14:05.240 I just saw this thing.
00:14:06.360 It's that you don't look well.
00:14:08.120 That's when he said, Mr. President, I'll tell you the truth.
00:14:11.700 I have AIDS.
00:14:13.180 First time that Ronald Reagan knew or really most people knew anybody who had AIDS.
00:14:18.720 And he few days later, Rock Hudson comes out and he says, you know, I have AIDS.
00:14:26.580 I'm dying.
00:14:27.980 Ronald Reagan starts talking about AIDS.
00:14:30.180 And it was the first time that people went, oh, wow.
00:14:34.880 We might know people that are going to die from this.
00:14:38.780 That I think Tom Hanks may be the Rock Hudson of this generation because everybody knows and likes Tom Hanks.
00:14:46.440 And, you know, here's Tom Hanks filming with his wife, the new Elvis movie in Australia.
00:14:54.800 And they announced last night he's got COVID-19.
00:14:59.740 Hopefully, dear God, please don't let's not lose Tom Hanks.
00:15:03.820 But just him being sick, I think that in the NBA last night, I think shook America.
00:15:09.180 Those two things were, yeah, big time.
00:15:11.060 Yeah.
00:15:11.260 They shook me.
00:15:12.060 I know that.
00:15:13.400 Also, Tom Hanks has type 2 diabetes, I believe.
00:15:17.040 Oh, that's bad.
00:15:18.040 So, it'll be interesting to see how he deals with this.
00:15:21.340 Yeah, that's not good at all.
00:15:22.700 You have diabetes, that puts you in a higher risk category for death.
00:15:27.140 You know, the other thing is, I don't know if anybody else felt this way.
00:15:31.060 Donald Trump, what he said in his speech last night about Europe was absolutely the right thing to do.
00:15:36.620 Absolutely.
00:15:37.420 Everybody's like, that is just so racist of him.
00:15:41.580 Stop it right now.
00:15:42.720 I thought he only liked Europeans.
00:15:44.620 I thought that was the knock on him.
00:15:46.060 Now he's racist against Europeans?
00:15:48.340 You know, he hates those Germans because they look so different.
00:15:51.540 Anyway, it was absolutely the right thing to do.
00:15:55.100 But I watched that last night and it was one of those things where I thought, oh my gosh, what?
00:16:01.920 I mean, did anybody else watch his speech and think, holy cow?
00:16:06.080 I said that out loud when he said that.
00:16:07.980 Yeah.
00:16:08.440 Holy cow.
00:16:09.440 I think that, too, hit a lot of people who are conservative because we go through this thing where the media is so awful to Trump and so unfair to him that it's easy to see every single story in this kind of constant plot against Donald Trump, which absolutely exists through all of these storylines, including COVID-19.
00:16:31.800 Like, they have been completely unfair to him.
00:16:33.700 Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:16:33.940 Absolutely.
00:16:34.680 But, like, a lot of people are saying, oh, this is a hoax.
00:16:38.260 They're going after him because they want the economy to crash.
00:16:40.560 This is not a big deal.
00:16:43.080 Donald Trump is not out there trying to sink Donald Trump's presidency.
00:16:46.320 No.
00:16:46.520 Donald Trump is out there on television telling you you can't go to Europe.
00:16:50.020 Well, I guess you can.
00:16:50.980 It was a little bit unclear.
00:16:52.460 You have four days.
00:16:53.920 You have four days to return.
00:16:56.100 Yeah.
00:16:56.860 And then after that, you're going to have to go through screening.
00:17:00.920 You may be held elsewhere.
00:17:03.940 This is a really big deal.
00:17:05.700 None of our allies were alerted by this.
00:17:10.440 What's going on in Europe, France is on fire right now.
00:17:16.880 And France is not taking this seriously at all.
00:17:19.480 We have friends.
00:17:20.140 Tanya told me, you know, we have friends who went to France.
00:17:23.360 And I said, wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute.
00:17:25.440 Those people, they took their family to France?
00:17:28.180 She said, yeah.
00:17:29.060 And I said, all right, not going to church.
00:17:31.840 If they're going to church, not going to church.
00:17:34.320 Don't want the kids playing with their kids for 14 days.
00:17:37.660 They were in France.
00:17:38.840 And what they did was they're like, oh, my gosh, we just decided $200 round trip to France.
00:17:44.820 Yeah, there's a reason.
00:17:47.000 It's true.
00:17:47.740 I got all this.
00:17:48.220 It's tempting.
00:17:48.780 It is tempting.
00:17:49.660 I got all this meat on sale.
00:17:51.700 You know how much, you know how expensive meat is.
00:17:53.900 I got all this meat on sale.
00:17:55.240 I got it for pennies for the pound.
00:17:57.980 And, you know, they're saying that it's spoiled meat's been sitting out in the sun for the last 14 days.
00:18:02.520 But it came from a lab.
00:18:03.560 Yeah.
00:18:03.920 But it's fantastic.
00:18:05.700 It was so cheap.
00:18:06.740 Yeah, it's cheap for a reason.
00:18:08.620 And people aren't taking it seriously.
00:18:10.800 And that's what Donald Trump did last night was start to take it seriously for the American people and hopefully started to wake them up.
00:18:19.620 But right after he was done, boom, NBA.
00:18:22.280 Boom, Tom Hanks.
00:18:23.480 Yeah.
00:18:23.900 And it's interesting, too, because CNN can't say now that he's calling this a hoax and he's not taking it seriously.
00:18:30.180 So instead, it changes to now he's a xenophobe.
00:18:33.460 So now because he's taking it seriously, now he's a xenophobe and he's not allowing anybody.
00:18:37.920 It is exactly cannot win.
00:18:40.080 No, it's exactly the right thing to do.
00:18:42.420 Now, it is.
00:18:43.620 You have to understand, as we told you yesterday, the reason why we're not canceling schools.
00:18:49.080 That is the easiest thing to do.
00:18:50.600 That is that.
00:18:51.200 Doesn't that seem like the smart thing to do?
00:18:52.660 Because we all know schools are Petri dishes and they have done it through colleges.
00:18:56.520 Right.
00:18:57.020 It's happened to a lot of universities.
00:18:58.640 Some schools have been canceled.
00:18:59.820 So why are they doing it at universities pretty much universally now?
00:19:03.220 Or it's it's trending that way.
00:19:05.460 But you're not seeing schools all over the country cancel.
00:19:09.360 Forty four percent of parents cannot stay home with their kids.
00:19:15.280 Right.
00:19:15.560 So we're in this catch 22 where we know that parents are.
00:19:21.520 What are they going to do?
00:19:23.300 They can't.
00:19:24.260 They may not be able to work from home.
00:19:26.040 They have to work.
00:19:28.920 They have their kids come home.
00:19:31.100 The entire 44 percent of households collapse under that.
00:19:36.920 Isn't it true also that very few children are getting this?
00:19:39.920 Yeah, but no, they are getting it.
00:19:41.700 It's like there is.
00:19:43.040 What is it?
00:19:45.460 Hepatitis.
00:19:46.080 There's a hepatitis that spreads really easily, not through the blood.
00:19:51.640 And kids, babies can get it.
00:19:55.140 And they have found that every adult around these babies will get hepatitis and they'll
00:20:01.400 be knocked out.
00:20:02.980 They test the children and the children all have it.
00:20:05.800 All the babies have it.
00:20:07.000 But it doesn't affect their their immune system.
00:20:09.460 It does.
00:20:10.080 It's not manifesting in any way where it's harmful for them.
00:20:13.920 Spanish flu is the opposite of this.
00:20:16.460 In 1918, Spanish flu kind of short circuited.
00:20:20.000 If you had a strong immune system, it put everything into overdrive.
00:20:25.420 And so all the strong immune systems were breaking down.
00:20:28.520 So all the children and under 18, they were the real targets.
00:20:32.920 This is the opposite.
00:20:34.440 So they're getting it.
00:20:35.980 It's just not hurting.
00:20:37.320 It's not hurting them.
00:20:38.340 Can I give you one other update here?
00:20:39.780 Yeah.
00:20:40.420 So for the second time since these rules have put in and both of them in this week, we
00:20:45.020 have hit the tripwire of the stock market down 1700 points again.
00:20:49.760 Today, including another, the 7% thing on the S&P 500.
00:20:54.940 So there's a 15 minute break and we're in that window for the second time this week at
00:20:59.220 this time.
00:20:59.840 Okay.
00:20:59.960 So I'm going to tell you something that I just don't want to, I just don't want to be
00:21:05.980 a freak out guy.
00:21:07.300 I don't want you to panic.
00:21:10.020 But I wrote to my wife today and I said, honey, I want our money out of the stock market.
00:21:16.960 We've been going back and forth on this.
00:21:18.760 So amazing.
00:21:19.760 I just, I just texted my wife.
00:21:22.760 Did you?
00:21:23.480 The same exact thing.
00:21:24.640 I said, honey, I want out of the stock market.
00:21:26.880 And we're down 20%.
00:21:28.560 We're down 20%.
00:21:30.340 That's now bear territory.
00:21:31.980 That's now means that that's a sign of recession.
00:21:34.660 And here's why.
00:21:37.340 This is the more facts that come in.
00:21:40.960 We are at least 18 months away from having a vaccine available or available.
00:21:48.420 Okay.
00:21:48.840 Now there's going to be ways to fight it.
00:21:51.020 It's going to be a bell curve, although the other side of the bell seems to be a little
00:21:55.040 lopsided.
00:21:56.440 We think at this point that there's not going to be a flu season on this.
00:22:00.720 It's just going to keep going.
00:22:01.980 We don't know, but we think we don't know, but we think you can get reinfected on it.
00:22:08.480 And when you do, that's even worse.
00:22:10.840 China is reopening all of their factories and everything else.
00:22:15.800 People are going back to work.
00:22:17.440 If that remains stable, then we can go, okay, we don't, once it burns through your system,
00:22:26.960 it's not going to reignite and you have to repeat everything all over again.
00:22:31.720 And it would have peaked at what?
00:22:33.100 80,000 people.
00:22:34.660 In fact, yeah, which is not if they're telling the truth is not that big a deal.
00:22:38.480 So here's the, here's the problem.
00:22:40.680 This is going to last us, you know, three to seven months minimum.
00:22:47.360 And we're going to go through other cycles.
00:22:49.280 If we can get through the summer, it's going to come back worse.
00:22:52.180 Look at the pandemics in the past.
00:22:54.580 It's a year into it, a year and a half into it.
00:22:57.380 To me, that says we're going to have significant down for a significant period of time.
00:23:05.520 We're going to go through tough, tough times.
00:23:09.760 Economically?
00:23:10.400 I mean, obviously, as well as the actual situation.
00:23:13.360 I'm talking about economically alone.
00:23:15.400 The whole situation, this is going to change.
00:23:19.360 We will be different people.
00:23:21.620 And I'm talking globally on the other side of this.
00:23:24.180 When this is all past, we will be doing things then that will remain with us forever that we would have never done today.
00:23:35.560 It's going to change the way people work, the way we interact, the software, the systems.
00:23:40.920 Absolutely everything is going to change because of this.
00:23:44.920 And I don't want you to freak out.
00:23:48.340 You should not freak out.
00:23:49.740 If you are young and you have your money in the stock market and you're 40, leave it in the stock market.
00:23:56.020 Leave it in the stock market because you can never predict the top.
00:23:58.360 You can never predict the bottom.
00:23:59.980 Leave it in.
00:24:00.520 It will eventually come back.
00:24:02.280 If you're somebody, I'm 56.
00:24:04.060 I'd like to be able to say when I'm 65, you know what?
00:24:07.200 I just want to go and do something else.
00:24:08.940 Uh, I could be wiped out.
00:24:12.360 You know, if this continues to go on, you could be wiped out.
00:24:16.820 If you're 60, 65, get your money out of the stock market.
00:24:22.300 Take your loss now.
00:24:23.700 It's going to be a rough couple of months.
00:24:25.460 Even when people try to blow it off and they're like, oh, it's just like the flu.
00:24:29.200 First of all, the flu is serious.
00:24:30.680 But remember, let's just say it is like the flu.
00:24:33.680 The flu year one really sucked.
00:24:36.460 I don't know if anyone's noticed that.
00:24:37.660 Year two was worse.
00:24:40.080 Year 102 is what we're talking about today, right?
00:24:43.160 Like in year 102, well, we've been able to get a handle on it.
00:24:46.080 And I think the same thing is true with this.
00:24:48.200 But year, and we have a much better system now too.
00:24:51.040 I don't think it's going to be 1918.
00:24:52.760 But we don't.
00:24:53.180 But it is a scary time.
00:24:54.240 It's worse in some ways because of the mobility of the people of the planet.
00:24:58.260 And the fact that we are seeing now that self-isolation is helpful.
00:25:07.760 But unless the people take it seriously, we are going to go just the way of Germany, just the way of France, just the way of Italy.
00:25:17.920 Which is not good in case you haven't been paying attention because the people didn't self-isolate.
00:25:25.180 And I want to show you later on in the program exactly what that means.
00:25:30.380 You've got to take this seriously right now.
00:25:33.600 You should show the really quick video of Rudy Gobert from the Utah Jazz and how unseriously he was taking it.
00:25:42.200 Two days later, he's got the virus.
00:25:46.440 The best of the Glenn Beck Program.
00:25:54.860 Hey, it's Glenn, and you're listening to the Glenn Beck Program.
00:25:57.840 If you like what you're hearing on this show, make sure you check out Pat Gray Unleashed.
00:26:01.600 It's available wherever you download your favorite podcasts.
00:26:06.300 This is the first pandemic that can be controlled.
00:26:10.580 This, according to the WHO, it is officially now a global pandemic.
00:26:15.340 They made that announcement yesterday.
00:26:18.140 We found out from the president that no travel from Europeans to the United States for 30 days.
00:26:25.460 He's talking about massive packages to the American people, including a tax holiday.
00:26:31.600 Or at least deferred small business loans of up to $50 billion in money accessible.
00:26:40.840 The immediate reaction from the Democrats was, this is ridiculous.
00:26:45.560 We need more food stamps.
00:26:47.360 I mean, it's crazy what's going on.
00:26:50.080 We really have to pay attention to what Congress is doing because, believe me, they will not waste this opportunity.
00:26:58.420 They will not waste this election or this coronavirus emergency because of the election coming up.
00:27:07.580 And the media is in overdrive trying to make the president look bad.
00:27:11.280 We'll tell you the truth.
00:27:12.240 When he screws up, we'll tell you.
00:27:13.500 When he doesn't, we'll tell you.
00:27:14.760 We want to be fair and objective because this is way too important.
00:27:19.800 If you remember during the election of 2008, there was a guy named Joe the Plumber who said, you know, I've worked hard for my business.
00:27:27.740 And, you know, you want to tax me more and give it to other people.
00:27:31.600 And that's when Barack Obama really kind of outed himself as a guy who believed in the Marxist tendencies of share the wealth.
00:27:40.460 And he had that amazing exchange where he's like, I just think there comes a time where you've made too much money.
00:27:46.700 That didn't stop America from voting for Barack Obama, but it was a wake up call to many people.
00:27:53.120 I think now, not Joe the Plumber, I think there is a Jerry the autoworker.
00:27:57.620 He's a guy who was meeting with Joe Biden in a group of autoworkers just before the just before the primary.
00:28:05.780 And he just asked the vice president a question about taking guns and the president unloaded on him.
00:28:15.600 And it was quite an amazing exchange.
00:28:18.620 We have Jerry with us now.
00:28:21.620 And his name is Jerry Wayne.
00:28:24.080 He was on with Dave Rubin yesterday.
00:28:27.340 I called Dave and said, hey, Dave, can you give me Jerry's phone number?
00:28:30.940 Thank you very much for coming on this program as well.
00:28:34.100 Jerry, appreciate it.
00:28:35.980 Yeah, thank you very much.
00:28:36.840 I appreciate you having me on.
00:28:37.820 So let me let me ask you a couple of questions first.
00:28:41.340 Are you because we didn't see any of the interaction prior to and the vice president came after you like you were a jerk and an enemy.
00:28:51.620 Can you tell me, was there anything that we didn't see before that video that that put you in a position to where he thought this guy is just going to attack me?
00:29:01.560 No, on all the videos, I think they captured just about everything.
00:29:06.020 Some of the videos you got to fish through, though, to see exactly what my question was.
00:29:10.160 I was quite respectful and articulate with my question.
00:29:14.100 I took some time to actually to write it and be able to actually move forward on that.
00:29:20.140 Because you were reading it off of your cell phone and you had an expectation of meeting him or as I was just in case you had a moment.
00:29:28.040 You wanted to ask this question.
00:29:30.080 Yeah, I had no idea that I was going to be able to ask the question.
00:29:33.580 I just want to be prepared in case I did have the opportunity.
00:29:36.500 I mean, how many chances do you get to do that?
00:29:38.940 Right. Now, you are a long term autoworker.
00:29:42.480 You're a strong union guy.
00:29:45.080 Are you was was this an honest question?
00:29:48.080 And I mean it this way.
00:29:50.360 There are people who are asking questions because they want to make a point.
00:29:53.340 And then there's others who may make a point while doing it.
00:29:58.020 But they're asking because they really want to know because Joe Biden might have been a candidate that they might have voted for.
00:30:03.680 Are you a guy who has voted for Democrats before would consider a a Democrat or not?
00:30:14.180 Yeah. So, well, first of all, I'm not I'm not an autoworker.
00:30:17.060 I'm a millwright by trade.
00:30:18.000 I'm a union millwright.
00:30:18.760 And yes, you're right.
00:30:19.380 I'm very, very strong with the union.
00:30:21.260 OK, I really support him.
00:30:25.320 Yeah, I I think I was on.
00:30:27.760 Yeah, the show last night I said I didn't vote for Trump last election.
00:30:31.320 And I I I you I grew up Democrat for sure.
00:30:36.460 I don't I don't choose either side right now.
00:30:39.220 I'm I'm just an American.
00:30:40.420 That's all I am.
00:30:41.100 Good for you.
00:30:42.080 OK, so you ask your question about you say, you know, he's taking the take.
00:30:49.080 You're you're going to be taking our guns.
00:30:51.020 Can you tell us the question that you actually asked him?
00:30:55.640 I can I can paraphrase.
00:30:57.560 I don't have it in front of me.
00:30:58.460 That's fine.
00:30:58.740 Yeah, so it's actually two questions in there.
00:31:02.120 One, I was curious about how he was going to keep us working like we are now.
00:31:06.500 Right now, our work is we're doing really, really well.
00:31:08.760 All the trades are out there making working a ton of hours and putting a lot of money into
00:31:12.420 our pensions.
00:31:13.420 And he wants to come here and say that he can do a better job.
00:31:15.900 So I asked him how he was going to do that.
00:31:18.060 I wanted him to tell me what his plan was to make it even better than what it is right
00:31:22.300 now.
00:31:22.820 It's doing really well at the moment.
00:31:24.560 All right.
00:31:24.840 And then I wanted to see how he's going to obtain our votes.
00:31:28.780 There's there's a there's a quite a large percentage of people that want to hold their
00:31:34.860 guns.
00:31:35.180 And they also want the Democratic Party to to to represent their unions.
00:31:40.080 And I don't see how you're going to split that right down the middle and get both things
00:31:45.580 done and get and get the vote.
00:31:47.060 So that's not an adversarial question.
00:31:49.100 That is, you know, basically, I would read that as I want to vote for a Democrat, but
00:31:54.560 I'm worried that a you don't have a plan that's going to make things better.
00:31:59.100 You can say that.
00:31:59.800 But I want to actually hear your plan.
00:32:01.140 I want to believe you.
00:32:01.860 And second, I'm really concerned because you guys keep talking about taking guns.
00:32:05.880 I want a Democrat to win, but you're going to take our guns.
00:32:09.520 Is that when he turned on you?
00:32:12.600 Well, just to back it up a little bit, it's not I don't care if it's a Democrat, Republican
00:32:17.000 or anything.
00:32:17.760 I just I want somebody in office with.
00:32:20.080 But you're willing.
00:32:20.720 It's not like you Democrats are all going to.
00:32:23.120 It wasn't that.
00:32:25.160 Right.
00:32:25.680 Right.
00:32:26.040 OK, I didn't.
00:32:26.900 Yeah.
00:32:27.140 All right.
00:32:27.540 So and is that when the tone completely changed in your mind with him?
00:32:32.580 The gun question.
00:32:33.660 Yeah, well, his first remark, what kind of made me get be drawn back a little bit, you
00:32:40.840 know, but I kind of let him dig his own hole after that.
00:32:45.720 So was it a surprise to you that he said that he reacted that way to you?
00:32:53.540 Yeah.
00:32:54.060 For being a politician, I didn't expect that whatsoever.
00:32:57.160 I kind of expected him to just tell me like, hey, we're not taking questions right now, you
00:33:02.160 know, and just kind of go around and go around the bush a little bit.
00:33:05.060 Right.
00:33:06.600 But I think he showed up there knowing that, you know, the unions there and then the Democrats
00:33:11.240 usually don't win unions and stuff like that.
00:33:13.700 And I think he wanted to go there just for a quick stunt and get our vote and walk out.
00:33:17.700 I don't think he was prepared for it.
00:33:20.380 To earn it.
00:33:21.240 So when his aide said, OK, all right, we're going to move on.
00:33:27.820 He hushed.
00:33:29.480 He hushed her pretty sternly.
00:33:32.120 What was your reaction to that?
00:33:33.760 I didn't really pay much attention to it.
00:33:37.100 I figured, you know, they had their own, you know, professional relationship.
00:33:40.020 They're going to do whatever they're going to do.
00:33:41.260 That's not what I was there for.
00:33:42.160 I was there to make a stand.
00:33:43.380 Yeah.
00:33:43.620 I was there to to call him out on something.
00:33:46.240 And I want him to be able to respectfully articulate what his actual plan is to do it,
00:33:51.980 because if you're going to go out and try to take our guns, it's not we're not going
00:33:55.560 to go.
00:33:56.340 We're not going to go easy.
00:33:57.400 So when he said, I'm not going to come for your guns, I I own a shotgun.
00:34:01.720 And then he started talking about the AR-14s when he said to you, you're a liar.
00:34:11.320 Basically, you're a liar.
00:34:13.100 You know, you're you're saying you brought up the viral video that was on CNN.
00:34:17.980 It wasn't doctored.
00:34:19.140 It was a it was a conversation with CNN.
00:34:21.320 And he absolutely denied that that was even real.
00:34:25.940 Do you think he knew what I mean?
00:34:27.980 Go ahead.
00:34:28.360 And that that caught me off guard more than him, his initial response.
00:34:33.060 I was I was expecting him to like, yeah, we are going to take him and stuff like that.
00:34:36.640 And I tell you, well, I would have respected that a lot more than him beating around a
00:34:39.660 bush and trying to back up a little bit.
00:34:42.140 At least then we can have a conversation about it and move forward.
00:34:46.020 You know, and the reason I sat there and he kind of got aggressive with me, but I wanted
00:34:49.840 to listen.
00:34:50.860 And I think that's what America is lacking right now is people actually wanting to listen to
00:34:55.200 each other.
00:34:55.640 And I wanted to give him that opportunity.
00:34:57.300 And I listened to him.
00:34:58.580 And not only did I hear him, but all of America did.
00:35:01.580 So let me play what he said that was, you know, the viral video.
00:35:06.540 Oh, yeah, they're all doctored.
00:35:07.860 Here's what he actually said.
00:35:09.480 And how do you translate this into anything other than, yeah, I am coming for your gun.
00:35:14.240 Listen, buy an assault weapon that has multiple rounds or buy an assault weapon that has 100
00:35:20.720 rounds, even though it may not.
00:35:23.700 You can't point to the fact that it, in fact, had stopped it before.
00:35:27.280 Do you want more of them on the street?
00:35:29.260 Do we want to do that?
00:35:31.100 So to to gun owners out there who say, well, a buying administration means they're going
00:35:35.960 to come for my guns.
00:35:37.100 Bingo.
00:35:37.640 You're right.
00:35:38.160 If you have an assault weapon, the fact of the matter is they should be illegal, period.
00:35:42.640 OK, what's your problem with that, Jerry?
00:35:46.120 And I mean this sincerely, you know, he's just saying it's assault weapon.
00:35:50.500 You can keep your gun, just not that kind of gun.
00:35:54.220 You know, the reason he wants to go after these, quote unquote, assault weapons, these
00:35:59.580 long guns.
00:36:01.160 Why is that?
00:36:02.040 Is it because they're so accurate?
00:36:03.720 Because I tell you what, handguns kill more people than these so-called assault weapons.
00:36:09.880 So if he really cared for the American people, don't you think he'd be going after them?
00:36:13.620 Because he's not.
00:36:14.960 And that makes me feel as if there's an underlying issue there.
00:36:17.920 And that makes me want to hold on to him just that much more.
00:36:20.940 Now, what is the reaction to you now?
00:36:24.580 Have you had fallout at work?
00:36:26.420 The people that were around you?
00:36:28.360 What what is your life been like in the immediate?
00:36:32.220 He just walked away.
00:36:33.580 What did the people around you do and how are you being affected positively or negatively
00:36:38.880 now in your life?
00:36:41.280 Well, it's been quite a roller coaster.
00:36:44.000 Yeah.
00:36:44.140 When I was there, there was quite a few people that were not happy with the question that
00:36:47.880 I asked.
00:36:48.220 I was definitely rubbing against the grain there.
00:36:50.540 And I think it was it was just more important for me to stand up for America than it was the
00:36:54.360 people around me.
00:36:55.880 But I tell you what, since then, I have had a flood of support from my peers and unions
00:37:01.840 across the nation.
00:37:03.600 Really?
00:37:04.860 Yes.
00:37:05.420 In what way?
00:37:07.620 And saying that some people call me a patriot.
00:37:11.080 Some people are calling me a hero.
00:37:12.840 And if that's what they want to call me, that's great.
00:37:14.780 I'm just a guy.
00:37:16.680 I'm just a guy that wanted to say something on his mind to a peer of mine who happened
00:37:20.260 to be Joe Biden.
00:37:21.260 I think it's important that people know that Joe Biden is nothing more than a peer.
00:37:25.680 Really good point.
00:37:26.540 What is the what's the general takeaway you hope people get from that interaction?
00:37:36.360 There's two things.
00:37:37.400 One, take time and actually listen to each other, even if it is an opposition, because
00:37:41.000 you might learn something.
00:37:41.920 Two, stand up.
00:37:45.140 As an American, it is your duty.
00:37:47.600 Thank you so much.
00:37:50.780 I appreciate it.
00:37:51.560 Jerry Wayne, the man who confronted Joe Biden and was called full of excrement by the vice
00:38:00.800 president.
00:38:02.000 And he never denied it.
00:38:03.540 Never once in that call did he deny he's full of it.
00:38:06.480 Yeah, never.
00:38:07.260 I didn't even catch that, Stu.
00:38:08.680 I should have asked him.
00:38:09.480 Yeah, you didn't press him.
00:38:10.420 You're not a very good interviewer, obviously.
00:38:12.460 But I will say he did not seem to be adversarial.
00:38:15.780 He did not seem at all to have some big.
00:38:17.640 I thought those were reasonable questions.
00:38:19.780 Totally.
00:38:20.140 And there's a certain brand of person who, like, once a YouTube hit, I'm going to have
00:38:25.340 this big YouTube moment with Joe Biden.
00:38:27.240 That was not what that was.
00:38:28.340 Yeah, no.

00:38:46.520 He was a guy who was way on the other side, worked with Jank or Sank or whatever his name
00:38:51.640 is, worked with that guy at Young Turks and woke up and was like, wow, I am standing
00:38:57.940 with the wrong people and is truly a remarkable man.
