00:00:30.000 Hey, we have a rapid-fire recap of the top stories from the weekend and some perspective on all that.

00:00:35.000 Also, pull up a chair, because Uncle Glenn has a new children's story for the folks and the governor of Wisconsin.

00:00:42.060 Also, John Irwin of the Irwin Brothers joins us to talk about a new Hollywood venture.

00:00:48.860 And believe it or not, it's good, and he's got the control of the stories he'll be telling with Amazon.

00:00:56.840 Chalk another win up for the right. 0.56

00:00:59.180 All this and so much more on today's podcast.

00:01:01.720 Let me tell you about pre-born.

00:01:03.040 Abortion is a tragic part of our lives as Americans and the rest of the world.

00:01:06.980 Even after the overturning of Roe vs. Wade, it continues to rob children of the right to live.

00:01:12.100 In fact, what's more devastating is that a majority of women who get abortions 1.00

00:01:16.700 say they would have chosen life if they just had some simple support.

00:01:22.480 Now you have the abortion pill, and abortions are going through the roof. 1.00

00:01:26.500 Pre-born's network of clinics saves 200 babies every day by offering free ultrasounds to expecting moms,

00:01:32.560 doubling that baby's chance that the mom will choose life.

00:01:36.080 You could make a difference between the life and death of so many babies.

00:01:39.880 As abortion continues to rise, pre-born is expanding their life-affirming care in the darkest corners of our nation

00:01:45.600 to help more hurting women and save more babies. 0.97

00:01:48.800 If you have the means, would you consider a leadership gift to save babies in a big way?

00:01:53.060 If you put $15,000 in, all tax deductible,

00:01:56.640 it'll place a machine, an ultrasound machine, in a needy women's center, 1.00

00:02:01.040 saving countless lives for years to come.

00:02:03.620 To donate, dial pound 250, say the keyword baby.

00:02:07.160 It doesn't have to be $15,000, it could be $15,000, it could be $15,000, every penny helps.

00:02:13.780 That's pound 250, keyword baby, or donate securely at preborn.com slash beck.

00:02:19.080 Preborn.com slash beck.

00:02:21.020 A single heartbeat can echo across generations.

00:02:25.040 Pre-born, sponsored by Pre-born.

00:02:33.620 All right, let me just give you the news as I see it,

00:02:44.080 what happened over the weekend of February 15th and 16th.

00:02:47.760 What happened this weekend, I think, is liberty, justice, and the truth breaking free.

00:02:52.200 So let's dive in here.

00:02:53.140 Cash Patel is taking the FBI helm.

00:02:56.940 His first full official day is today.

00:02:59.700 He was sworn in as FBI director with the hand on the Gita of a pledge to uphold his constitution.

00:03:10.480 It's not a bureaucratic shuffle.

00:03:14.200 It is a shot across the bow of the weaponized deep state.

00:03:17.320 This one makes all the difference in the world.

00:03:21.160 Cash is making people in Washington sweat, and he should.

00:03:25.720 Patel has vowed to root out corruption left, right, or center,

00:03:29.740 and the whispers of the Epstein client list that he told me over the summer was in a safe behind the desk of the director of the FBI.

00:03:41.420 I know that Cash Patel must have been in the office of the FBI on Friday because Pam Bondi said,

00:03:49.860 the client list is now sitting on my desk.

00:03:54.240 I'm reviewing it.

00:03:56.300 I have a feeling Cash took it out from behind that desk safe and brought it over to Pam Bondi.

00:04:03.480 She looked at it, and I'm hoping, as today is his first full day in office, it will be released today.

00:04:11.000 But transparency one way or another is coming, and justice isn't going to care who you voted for.

00:04:16.980 I'm going to tell you more about this coming up in just a minute.

00:04:19.940 Also, Trump has locked in his cabinet now.

00:04:22.220 He has finalized his cabinet this weekend.

00:04:24.900 Patel, RFK Jr., Tulsi Gabbard, the folks who have bucked the system, not bowed to it, are all in.

00:04:31.760 The Senate's buzzing.

00:04:33.600 But this crew is built to shrink government and not meddle abroad unless America is directly threatened.

00:04:41.160 No more endless wars.

00:04:42.900 No more nanny state. 0.99

00:04:44.860 Just constitutional governance.

00:04:46.620 That's what they're promising, and so far, that's what they're delivering.

00:04:50.100 The elites absolutely hate it, which makes me love it.

00:04:58.160 By the way, I don't understand.

00:05:00.280 Democrats, you've been preaching against the Pentagon forever now.

00:05:05.740 Wait.

00:05:07.460 Donald Trump says cut 8% of the defense budget in the next four years,

00:05:12.800 and you're somehow or another against that now?

00:05:17.060 Wow.

00:05:18.940 Hello, Democrat Lindsey Grahams of the world. 0.82

00:05:23.740 Midwest storms all through the states, but FEMA wasn't there.

00:05:28.860 Oh, no.

00:05:29.860 If you read the stories about this this weekend, you heard that it was chaos because FEMA had been cut.

00:05:36.780 Really?

00:05:38.000 Is that what caused the chaos?

00:05:40.480 Brule storm buried the Midwest.

00:05:42.240 Snow piled high.

00:05:43.140 Power was out.

00:05:44.420 Lives disrupted.

00:05:45.360 The media is whining about FEMA and the FEMA cuts, but hang on, because I think everyone saw this storm coming.

00:05:55.960 This wasn't like, oh, my gosh, it was a tornado that came out of nowhere.

00:06:00.640 The storm had to travel halfway across the country to get to your state, Illinois, Michigan.

00:06:08.480 You didn't have warnings?

00:06:13.080 Were you in Ghana?

00:06:15.900 How come you didn't prepare?

00:06:19.360 You see, it's weird. 0.98

00:06:20.400 When we know a hurricane is coming, Florida seems to be able to pull their head out of their rectum and actually prepare. 0.92

00:06:30.820 So when it hits, they can turn the lights back on.

00:06:34.180 But, gee, Illinois, Michigan, you just couldn't get it done.

00:06:38.960 What does Illinois and Michigan have in common?

00:06:43.120 Where are the governors?

00:06:45.000 Florida shrugs off hurricanes without federal babysitters.

00:06:48.200 Why can't Michigan and Illinois? 0.96

00:06:52.060 FEMA is nothing but a bloated crutch. 1.00

00:06:54.880 States need to step up or ask for help.

00:06:57.260 Oh, my gosh.

00:06:57.900 Wouldn't it have been crazy if when you knew there was this storm coming, you as a governor could have been in the same room with the president at the White House last week?

00:07:10.620 Maybe you got to pull them aside and said, hey, we got a big emergency coming.

00:07:14.620 Can you help us?

00:07:16.580 Seems other states did that.

00:07:19.540 Why weren't you ready? 0.99

00:07:20.940 People, you need to start relying on your states and demanding that your governors pull their heads out of their rectum. 0.91

00:07:32.000 Next story that I saw, the homelessness crisis. 0.98

00:07:36.340 Oh, my gosh.

00:07:37.440 It's a crisis.

00:07:38.600 Ha.

00:07:40.400 Ha.

00:07:41.920 That's the first time I've seen that one.

00:07:44.720 There's a homelessness crisis in our country?

00:07:49.060 What?

00:07:51.260 Yes.

00:07:52.340 Tent cities grew this weekend.

00:07:55.400 Yeah.

00:07:56.060 You know why?

00:07:57.160 According to the mainstream media, the HUD staff cuts by the Doge team.

00:08:04.800 Hang on just a second.

00:08:07.040 It's been a week for those cuts.

00:08:10.340 So, you cut the staff at the top of HUD a week ago, and all of a sudden, homelessness is out of control.

00:08:22.540 Eh.

00:08:23.420 Show me the cut that tanked housing overnight.

00:08:26.120 Could you do that for me?

00:08:28.380 I think this might predate Donald Trump.

00:08:32.440 I don't know.

00:08:32.980 Well, I've never seen any pictures of homeless camps all around the country before this last weekend.

00:08:39.560 This is decades of blue state failures, not a seven-day staffing trim.

00:08:46.640 Governors and mayors, you all own this now, not Uncle Sam.

00:08:52.700 Accountability is about to go local.

00:08:56.360 Hmm.

00:08:57.500 Closer to the people.

00:08:58.900 Well, maybe we can make changes.

00:09:03.400 Also, Trump and Zelensky, we're back at it.

00:09:06.620 Zelensky says he's not going to give the United States anything unless, I mean, he'll retire if, if Ukraine's allowed to join NATO.

00:09:19.660 Isn't this where we started this whole thing in the first place?

00:09:24.600 Germany's election, if we have time today, I want to talk about that.

00:09:27.660 They had a snap election, a campaign that went on the far-right AFD is on the rise.

00:09:36.100 That's because Vance was stirring the pot, you know, in Munich.

00:09:39.200 That's what happened.

00:09:40.660 Vance was meddling.

00:09:41.700 Now, you know, what we did is we cut all those USAID programs that were actually meddling in everybody's elections around the world.

00:09:52.020 We decided, nah, we shouldn't do that.

00:09:54.400 We should let the people of those countries decide themselves.

00:09:58.300 Yeah, you want to talk about a danger to democracy?

00:10:02.380 Stop meddling in people's elections.

00:10:05.000 Right?

00:10:05.720 Am I right?

00:10:08.180 Their vote was held yesterday.

00:10:10.840 And the fallout is Germany's to handle. 0.97

00:10:13.460 We'll watch.

00:10:14.040 We'll not wait in, hopefully.

00:10:17.720 I mean, unless it starts to hit our shores.

00:10:19.800 It's not our business.

00:10:21.560 Stateside, we have bigger fish to fry.

00:10:24.240 But there are some things that, if I have time, we need to talk about on that.

00:10:27.620 And Elon Musk is pushing for AI innovation.

00:10:34.900 The Doge crew cheered California's AI safety veto this weekend.

00:10:39.580 Less red tape, more breakthroughs.

00:10:41.560 At the same time, he just came out and said, we are at the event horizon of the singularity.

00:10:51.660 Oh, big deal.

00:10:52.940 What are the price of eggs?

00:10:54.900 Um, I don't know.

00:10:57.240 But we might have robot chickens that eat us soon if you don't pay attention to the singularity.

00:11:01.920 We'll talk about that coming up next hour.

00:11:04.400 And the FCC has called out CBS, their bias.

00:11:09.040 The FCC zeroed in on CBS this weekend, probes into news distortion, hinting at real consequences. 0.89

00:11:17.120 Fascist!

00:11:18.180 This is not censorship.

00:11:19.860 This is about accountability.

00:11:21.100 Now, hear me out on this.

00:11:25.040 Should stations be able to lie?

00:11:28.120 Well, no.

00:11:30.960 But notice I said stations, not outlets.

00:11:35.520 When you have a license from the United States government, you're in bed with the United States government.

00:11:46.380 I know I've done this my whole life.

00:11:50.540 I had to get an FCC third phone.

00:11:52.940 I'm a third phone license holder, I'll tell you that.

00:11:57.820 I don't even know what that means, but I've got one.

00:12:02.240 I had to take a test for it.

00:12:04.180 Yeah, 13 years old.

00:12:05.840 I'm at the FCC taking a test for my third phone license.

00:12:10.060 I promptly lost that license.

00:12:14.580 I mean, I still have it.

00:12:15.820 I didn't, I mean, I lost it, kind of like I lose my driver's license all the time.

00:12:20.740 But if you want to lose a license, what you have to do as a local broadcaster is to break FCC rules.

00:12:30.060 You see, local CBS stations have to have a license through the FCC.

00:12:38.520 They serve the local community.

00:12:41.480 Now, perhaps in New York and San Francisco, those people believe in their local community

00:12:46.640 that lying to the American people and changing interviews to be able to make one politician look better than the other in a newscast is a public service.

00:12:58.840 I mean, we can't have people knowing what they really believe and what they're really like.

00:13:04.680 We need them to win as a public service.

00:13:08.640 But I can't imagine all the red states and red cities feel that that was a public service from CBS News.

00:13:15.240 My question is, have you written a letter to your local CBS affiliate?

00:13:20.980 You see, any complaint letters where somebody writes in from the local community and says,

00:13:28.060 I think this was wrong, and I hope the FCC investigates you, and I've cc'd the FCC.

00:13:37.060 Too many c's for me to even follow. 1.00

00:13:40.940 I've cc'd the FCC, and so the FCC is going to know about it ASAP. 0.99

00:13:45.840 I'll tell you that right now, and hopefully they're going to kick your ASS. 0.98

00:13:49.340 Anyway, have you written your local affiliate yet? 0.99

00:13:55.680 And manufacturers warn of trouble.

00:14:00.020 Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep.

00:14:01.720 New York Times says the New York Fed's latest is pegged manufacturing at peak pessimism this last weekend.

00:14:08.980 A slowdown is looming.

00:14:10.340 We can't wait to blame Trump.

00:14:14.260 No, they didn't actually say that.

00:14:16.240 But you know they were thinking.

00:14:19.080 This is from years of over-regulation, globalism.

00:14:22.680 It's all biting back.

00:14:23.900 States can lead the fix, cut taxes, ditch the green tape.

00:14:28.240 Washington shouldn't be the only savior here.

00:14:30.740 Every state should take it on.

00:14:34.140 And finally, one last story, and it's a sad one.

00:14:40.720 It seems another major chain might be ready to bite the dust.

00:14:45.320 Bloomberg has reported that Hooters, the country's most famous breastaurant,

00:14:51.940 is in talks with the law firm Ropes & Gray to prepare bankruptcy.

00:14:57.080 It is always sad to see people struggle.

00:15:03.540 But even more sad when a great institution, an American institution like this, goes tits up.

00:15:14.300 Making the decision to shoot somebody isn't something that should be taken lightly.

00:15:18.280 It's not a decision you usually get to hesitate on.

00:15:21.280 Not the decision that you make every day, honestly.

00:15:23.640 The guy threatening your family is not going to wait while you have some internal debate. 1.00

00:15:26.840 Should I kill him? Should I not? Should I shoot him in the leg? 1.00

00:15:28.820 That's the dumbest thing ever. 1.00

00:15:30.880 You have to make that decision right then. 0.99

00:15:34.200 Now, wouldn't it be great if you had an extra option, a non-lethal alternative?

00:15:39.280 The Berna Launcher is the non-lethal alternative that's being used all over the country

00:15:44.420 by police and government officials.

00:15:47.580 It is the alternative to safeguarding your home, your person, your car.

00:15:51.700 It's legal in all 50 states.

00:15:53.920 No permits or background checks required.

00:15:55.860 It can be used by all age groups over 18.

00:15:59.440 It's the Berna Launcher.

00:16:00.520 It has powerful deterrents like tear gas and kinetic rounds with a 60-foot range.

00:16:05.260 And one shot can incapacitate an attacker for up to 40 minutes.

00:16:09.220 With the Berna Launcher, you can be confident that you are prepared to defend yourself against potential threats.

00:16:15.080 They're trusted by over 500 government agencies, police departments, security firms all around the country because they work.

00:16:21.500 If a situation calls for action but not lethal violence, you want the Berna Launcher.

00:16:30.140 Berna dot com slash Glenn.

00:16:32.000 Now, back to the podcast.

00:16:33.920 You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck Program.

00:16:38.620 Welcome to the Glenn Beck Program.

00:16:40.540 We're glad that you're here.

00:16:41.400 Stu, I don't know if you saw the Democratic Wisconsin governor, Tony Evers.

00:16:51.000 He's not exactly on the Trump train.

00:16:53.720 Really?

00:16:54.300 Yeah.

00:16:54.540 That's a shocking development.

00:16:55.600 It's a shocking...

00:16:56.020 Yeah, it is.

00:16:56.560 It is.

00:16:56.940 It is.

00:16:57.200 You know, it kind of amazes me that...

00:17:00.880 I mean, I get it when you're against, you know, going in and cutting the spending of any of these crazy things.

00:17:08.460 I get it.

00:17:09.200 Because you're probably on the take.

00:17:11.000 You know what I mean?

00:17:11.940 You're probably part of that system that somehow or another benefits you.

00:17:16.080 I don't know exactly how, but I can get it.

00:17:19.480 I mean, it just tells me who you are.

00:17:21.600 But when you are still on the bandwagon of, you know what?

00:17:27.400 Boys are girls, and they're going to compete in sports.

00:17:31.180 I don't get it.

00:17:32.500 I really don't get it.

00:17:34.100 Because nobody really thinks that way, really, anymore.

00:17:38.320 I mean, is that true?

00:17:41.720 I mean, they lost, right?

00:17:43.480 They lost with that approach, which is something they should note if they care about winning in the future.

00:17:49.100 Correct.

00:17:49.400 That being said, you know, they...

00:17:52.080 Does nobody think about that?

00:17:53.100 No.

00:17:53.500 No, you're right.

00:17:54.260 Nobody.

00:17:54.740 Not nobody.

00:17:55.700 It's not even close to nobody, right?

00:17:57.080 Like, they still got millions and millions.

00:17:59.040 I mean, they got, what, 40-something percent of the vote.

00:18:01.420 I'm not sure that that 40%, though, was...

00:18:05.160 They're not on that bandwagon, for sure.

00:18:07.400 I'm against cisgenderism. 0.95

00:18:09.360 That's not what they were voting on.

00:18:11.680 I agree.

00:18:12.880 That's not what they were voting on.

00:18:15.200 But there is a large...

00:18:16.460 There's still a good chunk.

00:18:17.600 I don't know.

00:18:18.100 What is it?

00:18:18.500 A quarter?

00:18:19.400 40% of Democrats?

00:18:21.220 30% of Democrats?

00:18:22.400 Somewhere in there, maybe, that really still do believe in this, you know, woke sort of line?

00:18:29.180 So, do the math for me.

00:18:30.820 How many Democrats are there now?

00:18:32.720 30% of the population?

00:18:34.820 Yeah.

00:18:35.440 Yeah.

00:18:35.880 Okay.

00:18:36.240 But, I mean, obviously...

00:18:36.880 And only 30% of that population?

00:18:39.000 That's like 9%, 10%.

00:18:40.860 So, you got 10%.

00:18:42.040 10% is always nuts.

00:18:44.280 Yeah, that's true.

00:18:45.240 That's true.

00:18:45.640 I mean, obviously, you could also say some...

00:18:49.360 I was going to say Democratic voters, 30% of Democratic voters, but still, it's only 15%, 20%.

00:18:54.160 Yeah.

00:18:54.500 So, it's not that big.

00:18:57.320 But it is, I think, still a significant...

00:18:59.240 You're talking about tens of millions of people.

00:19:01.700 Sure.

00:19:02.260 Sure.

00:19:02.940 And we...

00:19:04.020 Look, you know the reason why we all...

00:19:05.940 You know, we look at these people who are online, and we think, good heavens, they're crazy, right?

00:19:13.560 I wouldn't want to live next to that guy.

00:19:15.180 We've all lived next to that guy, right?

00:19:17.500 Our whole lives, we looked...

00:19:18.800 We just didn't talk to that guy.

00:19:20.620 We told our kids, don't talk to that guy.

00:19:22.580 Something wrong with that guy.

00:19:23.660 You know the old lady down on the street with all the cats? 0.99

00:19:25.860 Don't talk to her kids. 0.95

00:19:27.880 You know, we all had those crazy people.

00:19:31.140 Nobody listened to them, and they were kind of isolated in our neighborhoods.

00:19:34.440 Well, now, they all have the internet, and now they're all getting together, and like,

00:19:38.580 oh, yeah, well, I can outdo that.

00:19:40.520 I'm even crazier than you are. 0.96

00:19:42.960 But it's the same number of crazies, right? 0.88

00:19:46.560 It's just that they're now in a group, and you're like, oh, wow, it seems like there's

00:19:51.820 a lot of them.

00:19:52.400 No, they've just all been hanging out in our neighborhoods.

00:19:54.500 We just didn't see all of them around the world together in one place.

00:19:59.520 I think that's true.

00:20:00.480 I think it's a healthy thing to have some separation in your life from all of this,

00:20:04.760 you know, and realize that, you know, some people, like, if you're believing crazy things,

00:20:09.300 you might be fine.

00:20:11.100 Good job.

00:20:12.220 Like, everyone had that crazy person around the town.

00:20:14.180 You're right.

00:20:14.600 And most of them were harmless.

00:20:16.420 Most of them, yes.

00:20:16.840 But when they get together, it's a problem.

00:20:19.560 It's one thing.

00:20:20.420 Again, I always think about this with so many of these issues.

00:20:23.300 It's one thing for you to have an opinion that's, in my view, crazy.

00:20:28.160 It's another thing for you to ask me to participate in your delusions.

00:20:33.860 Yes.

00:20:34.340 And, like, I don't, you know, that's...

00:20:36.640 Right.

00:20:37.080 We used to, the guy would be out getting the mail, and you'd be driving by, and you're 0.98

00:20:40.600 on a small street, and you'd be like, oh, crap. 0.99

00:20:42.720 Oh, crap. 0.99

00:20:43.160 He's going to just look at me. 0.99

00:20:44.460 I should stop and say hi.

00:20:45.820 And so, you know, he'd look at you like, you're not driving past me without saying hello.

00:20:49.000 And so you'd stop, and you'd kind of roll down the window.

00:20:50.740 Hey, you, I love you.

00:20:53.960 Well, it's happening.

00:20:54.840 And then he would tell you some crazy things, and you'd be like, oh, man, crazy times, man.

00:20:58.700 Crazy times.

00:20:59.260 Crazy times.

00:20:59.620 Sorry, I'll see you.

00:21:00.400 Yeah, and you roll up the window, and you go away.

00:21:02.420 Yeah, and everything's fine.

00:21:03.120 But now he's like, you're not going anywhere until you absolutely agree and wear this badge

00:21:08.060 and put it online right now.

00:21:09.720 Say the word Hamas!

00:21:11.280 You're like, well, no.

00:21:12.860 Yeah, no.

00:21:13.380 Okay, that's the difference. 0.67

00:21:15.300 So Tony Evers apparently is that crazy guy who lives on the street, you know.

00:21:20.740 But we're just hearing about him because a lot of people got together and went, he should

00:21:24.420 be our governor.

00:21:25.380 Okay, well, you know, whatever.

00:21:26.940 So he introduced a budget that, you know, he announced, and he was very excited.

00:21:32.020 Of course, he didn't mention the language thing, you know, the language part of the budget.

00:21:36.520 In there, they changed the word mother to inseminated person, which I think has a lot of respect.

00:21:45.260 Don't you?

00:21:46.020 Oh, it's lovely.

00:21:46.820 I mean, I think that shows the love that most of us were created in, you know.

00:21:52.800 Well, hey, inseminated person, inseminated person, I'm on the phone.

00:21:59.880 You know, I mean, that's good.

00:22:01.380 That's good.

00:22:01.860 Shows a lot of love and respect.

00:22:04.020 Also, besides mother, inseminated person, also paternity has been changed to parentage.

00:22:12.180 I don't know what the parentage?

00:22:15.140 I don't even understand how that even makes it more woke.

00:22:17.120 Yeah, I don't have any idea.

00:22:19.080 References to wife or husband are now spouse.

00:22:23.300 The word father is changed to parent.

00:22:25.840 Mother is swapped out for person who gave birth to the child or inseminated person. 0.82

00:22:31.840 So wait, father is an inseminator?

00:22:34.480 It should be.

00:22:35.220 It should be.

00:22:35.660 Right?

00:22:36.000 Inseminator.

00:22:36.460 It's going to be consistent.

00:22:37.080 It's just parent?

00:22:38.020 That sounds like it.

00:22:38.760 Because you could use parent for mom.

00:22:39.760 Doesn't that sound like a superhero, though?

00:22:41.280 I'm the inseminator.

00:22:42.260 I'm the inseminator.

00:22:45.240 Inseminator here to inseminate.

00:22:46.840 There's no need to fear.

00:22:48.840 An inseminator is here.

00:22:51.060 Yeah, I like that.

00:22:52.140 That's good.

00:22:53.720 That's good.

00:22:54.380 In fact, I've got to use that as a new pickup line at the bars.

00:22:56.900 Hey! 0.99

00:22:57.800 Let's open up the door.

00:22:58.520 I'm the inseminator!

00:23:01.140 Okay, good, good, good.

00:23:02.960 I like that.

00:23:03.680 Okay, so anyway, he's done that.

00:23:06.160 And I thought, you know what?

00:23:07.580 Let's just get on the bandwagon.

00:23:09.100 Let's just get on the bandwagon.

00:23:10.200 Oh, really?

00:23:10.640 Yeah, so I want to start something.

00:23:13.040 Just a little children's story today.

00:23:16.000 I think you're going to like it.

00:23:17.800 It's time for Uncle Glenn's non-inseminator story time.

00:23:22.900 Because I didn't inseminate anybody that created you.

00:23:26.880 But I want to read a story to you.

00:23:29.420 So it's a little story. 0.97

00:23:31.140 It starts out with, well, it's in a bat-crap crazy town of Genderland. 1.00

00:23:36.500 And little Timmy is there. 0.98

00:23:37.700 And he's scratching his head and he's screaming,

00:23:39.140 Which Pat is my dad?

00:23:41.520 Which Pat is my mom?

00:23:43.000 If any of you are, you colonizer enablers.

00:23:47.500 It starts out the way every great story starts out, doesn't it?

00:23:51.580 So Pat 1, Pat 2, and Pat 3, three gender-neutral anti-racist warriors,

00:23:56.460 snorted over their intersexual oat milk lattes,

00:23:59.900 wearing spouse spectrum sashes and the parentage puzzle pins

00:24:04.260 and the decolonized family armbands.

00:24:06.860 And the first one said,

00:24:09.020 I'm the inseminated person of color who birthed you,

00:24:12.300 dismantling white supremacy.

00:24:14.660 That was Pat 1, rejecting mom or mother for maximum wokeness.

00:24:20.220 Then Pat 2 grinned and said,

00:24:22.240 I handled parentage duties, centering bioptic joy.

00:24:26.840 And no cisgender father is here. 0.94

00:24:30.300 Oh, little Timmy just smiled as Pat number three,

00:24:33.360 twirling a secret splice cape with a land back patch,

00:24:38.400 cackled,

00:24:39.060 My indigenous genes got spliced into your cells at conception.

00:24:43.620 Smash the patriarchy, kiddo.

00:24:46.500 Well, Timmy just looked at those three people,

00:24:49.400 said, no, I mean, male, female, which one's my mom?

00:24:53.540 All of them looked at little Timmy, male, female,

00:24:56.560 and then Timmy realized once more,

00:24:59.220 none of these freaks knew any longer how to even describe a woman.

00:25:04.760 Okay, okay.

00:25:06.020 Which one of you chest fed me?

00:25:08.580 Timmy asked.

00:25:09.600 Pat 1 waved to pump me,

00:25:11.680 non-binarily, in solidarity with trans folks,

00:25:14.980 which we spell with an X.

00:25:16.920 Pat number 2 brandished a buddy system bottle,

00:25:19.960 me, amplifying queer joy.

00:25:22.480 Pat number 3 giggled,

00:25:24.520 I chest fed via eco-friendly proxy.

00:25:27.900 Climate justice, baby.

00:25:30.060 Then all three in the parentage patrol began chanting,

00:25:33.940 spouse, parent, inseminate, smash the white fragility. 0.98

00:25:37.560 It didn't really rhyme, but none of them do nowadays.

00:25:41.000 Just then, Timmy's friend, Sammy,

00:25:43.480 another gender-neutral name,

00:25:45.780 burst in, shrieking,

00:25:46.760 and my inseminated person says,

00:25:49.620 I'm a non-binary climate refugee.

00:25:53.500 Help! 0.98

00:25:54.080 I don't even know what that means, Timmy,

00:25:56.020 and I don't think the people who came up with that

00:25:57.960 know what it means either.

00:25:59.900 Well, Timmy and gender-neutral, 1.00

00:26:02.220 named Sammy, double I, double E,

00:26:04.600 then hatched a plan.

00:26:06.480 Later that day,

00:26:07.840 at the gender-neutral, anti-racist jamboree,

00:26:11.580 Timmy grabbed a mic, yelling,

00:26:12.860 I identify as a Reelsville revolutionary,

00:26:17.220 and I outwoke you all.

00:26:19.460 By genderland law,

00:26:21.080 my specialized splice genes

00:26:23.520 make me the supreme,

00:26:25.500 intersectional,

00:26:27.680 ruler of all.

00:26:29.900 You three are my subordinate spouses.

00:26:32.900 Time out in the parentage penalty box

00:26:35.160 without any trigger warnings

00:26:36.620 and without any oat milk.

00:26:39.540 Well, the crowd gasped

00:26:40.780 as the Pats tripped over their pronouns,

00:26:43.120 drenched in their non-binary glitter. 1.00

00:26:45.760 Timmy then hijacked the Progress Wagon,

00:26:49.220 blaring old Louis C.K. monologues,

00:26:51.640 zooming to Reelsville,

00:26:52.920 where Mom and Dads still liked normalcy.

00:26:56.620 The Pats chased him, yelling,

00:26:58.500 But we're for dismantling the systems! 0.85

00:27:01.580 Timmy mooned them, shouting,

00:27:04.400 See you later, crazies! 1.00

00:27:07.040 Just then,

00:27:08.380 the wagon crashed into a barbecue joint.

00:27:11.240 Timmy escaped with a rib,

00:27:12.840 giggling,

00:27:13.480 Sanity and meat! 0.93

00:27:16.560 Perfect.

00:27:18.120 So, here's your little story.

00:27:20.120 Story time from Uncle Glenn today.

00:27:22.140 I think they probably really will enjoy that,

00:27:25.120 you know, in Wisconsin,

00:27:28.400 where it's always sane.

00:27:30.080 It's always truly sane.

00:27:32.480 You're streaming the best of the Glenn Beck program,

00:27:35.320 and you can find full episodes

00:27:36.680 wherever you download podcasts.

00:27:38.820 So, do you remember what it used to be like

00:27:41.400 when you would go to a movie,

00:27:44.420 and it was a Christian movie,

00:27:45.440 and you'd be like,

00:27:46.040 Oh, jeez.

00:27:46.860 And it was just embarrassingly bad.

00:27:50.060 And, you know,

00:27:51.460 it just was.

00:27:52.240 It just was.

00:27:52.880 Very few times.

00:27:54.340 You know,

00:27:54.860 gone were the filmmakers

00:27:56.680 like Cecil B. DeMille

00:27:58.040 that actually understood

00:27:59.800 the scriptures,

00:28:01.860 understood what he was doing,

00:28:03.600 didn't want to mock that,

00:28:05.140 and actually liked people

00:28:06.900 who were, you know,

00:28:08.360 following the God of Abraham,

00:28:09.480 Isaac, and Jacob,

00:28:10.260 and tried to make something

00:28:11.320 that was true.

00:28:12.040 Those guys had been long gone and dead

00:28:14.220 and run out of Hollywood.

00:28:16.980 But then came the Irwin brothers.

00:28:19.840 Then came Dallas Jenkins,

00:28:22.000 you know,

00:28:22.340 from The Chosen,

00:28:23.300 John Gunn.

00:28:24.820 And they formed

00:28:26.240 kind of a fellowship of the ring,

00:28:28.520 if you will,

00:28:29.160 storming the gates of Mordor,

00:28:30.700 otherwise known as Hollywood.

00:28:32.960 And the Irwin brothers,

00:28:34.920 they are responsible

00:28:36.080 for the Jesus Revolution,

00:28:37.820 which is a fantastic movie.

00:28:39.960 The Unbreakable Boy,

00:28:41.320 I just had Zachary Levi on,

00:28:44.100 and he is,

00:28:45.500 this movie,

00:28:46.360 I told him,

00:28:46.960 is just one of the best movies

00:28:48.720 I've seen in a long time.

00:28:51.220 It's just such a good movie,

00:28:53.760 and on top of it,

00:28:55.120 it just makes you feel good,

00:28:56.900 and you can just learn so much.

00:28:59.020 I mean,

00:28:59.380 at least I did.

00:29:00.180 I watched it the whole time going,

00:29:01.420 I don't think I'm that guy.

00:29:03.060 I don't think I'm that guy,

00:29:04.840 unfortunately.

00:29:06.580 But just great movie.

00:29:08.700 It doesn't feel like

00:29:09.760 a Christian movie

00:29:11.520 used to feel.

00:29:12.960 The Irwin brothers

00:29:13.860 have really kind of mastered this

00:29:15.720 as they,

00:29:17.180 you know,

00:29:17.540 as they made their films,

00:29:18.980 they came out

00:29:19.700 and started

00:29:20.420 The Wonder Project,

00:29:22.140 which is something

00:29:23.360 that's going to produce film

00:29:24.360 and television,

00:29:25.160 and now has a seat

00:29:26.660 at the Hollywood table,

00:29:28.240 you know,

00:29:28.940 but we've sanitized it

00:29:29.980 for their protection,

00:29:30.740 and it's a seat

00:29:33.080 that I think

00:29:34.080 they're going to keep,

00:29:35.480 and they're working

00:29:36.320 in the system,

00:29:39.220 but not,

00:29:40.100 they're not of the system

00:29:41.520 that has long neglected

00:29:44.480 the Christian audience,

00:29:45.380 and they're coming out

00:29:46.160 with something brand new

00:29:48.060 this week on Netflix,

00:29:50.320 and John Irwin

00:29:51.860 is with us now.

00:29:53.720 Hey, John,

00:29:54.160 how are you?

00:29:55.180 Glenn,

00:29:55.680 how you doing, man?

00:29:56.480 It's good to,

00:29:58.120 as always, man,

00:29:59.000 she's been a wonderful friend

00:29:59.800 for a very long time,

00:30:01.240 and yeah,

00:30:02.600 it is an exciting time

00:30:04.140 in our industry,

00:30:06.000 for sure.

00:30:07.240 It's sort of

00:30:07.640 an unprecedented moment,

00:30:09.080 and I think that's just

00:30:10.420 because the voice

00:30:11.140 of the audience

00:30:11.780 has been so clearly heard,

00:30:13.440 you know,

00:30:13.980 that it's given us

00:30:15.000 the ability

00:30:15.520 to maintain control,

00:30:18.480 creative control,

00:30:19.300 but also really harness

00:30:21.640 the relationships

00:30:23.160 with some of these

00:30:23.860 studios and streamers.

00:30:25.360 And I feel like,

00:30:26.260 I may have made a mistake.

00:30:27.460 Is it Netflix

00:30:28.140 or is it Amazon Prime?

00:30:29.900 It's Amazon Prime.

00:30:30.740 Amazon Prime, okay, good.

00:30:32.460 Sorry about that.

00:30:33.260 Thank you.

00:30:33.840 It's House of David.

00:30:35.520 It comes out this Thursday.

00:30:36.560 It's the project

00:30:37.160 that I've,

00:30:38.140 I remember when I was

00:30:39.040 16 years old,

00:30:39.980 my dad bought me

00:30:41.040 a camera with money

00:30:43.140 he didn't have,

00:30:43.860 and I didn't know

00:30:44.340 how to use it,

00:30:44.920 and we went straight

00:30:45.520 to Israel

00:30:46.060 and filmed a little

00:30:47.720 walk and talk documentary,

00:30:49.080 and there's something

00:30:50.120 just that the Bible

00:30:51.260 came to life

00:30:52.140 in a whole new way,

00:30:54.060 and I went to

00:30:54.720 King David's Tomb,

00:30:55.840 and right there

00:30:56.920 I started dreaming

00:30:58.540 about eventually

00:31:00.080 getting to do

00:31:00.660 the story of David,

00:31:01.460 and so a lot of the films

00:31:02.440 that I've made,

00:31:04.180 many that you mentioned,

00:31:05.760 I'm grateful for that,

00:31:06.500 are kind of working up

00:31:07.780 the courage

00:31:08.280 and the skill

00:31:08.980 to try to helm

00:31:10.420 David's story,

00:31:12.360 and there's this wonderful

00:31:13.000 group of filmmakers,

00:31:13.860 you're exactly right,

00:31:14.680 that we're willing

00:31:15.780 each other on to success

00:31:16.820 and talking all the time,

00:31:18.160 and I do feel like

00:31:20.840 I'm in Dallas Jenkins' wake,

00:31:22.200 and he's a wonderful

00:31:22.940 friend and collaborator,

00:31:25.180 and so it's amazing

00:31:26.660 to finally get to tell

00:31:27.640 biblical stories,

00:31:28.460 it's been a dream of mine

00:31:29.640 for quite a long time.

00:31:31.080 You guys have,

00:31:31.820 I mean,

00:31:32.260 I love all of you,

00:31:33.240 you're just cut

00:31:34.680 from the same cloth

00:31:35.560 and just not willing

00:31:36.760 to give up,

00:31:37.540 and you get better

00:31:38.260 and better with every movie

00:31:39.320 that comes out.

00:31:40.800 So you made

00:31:41.660 the first one,

00:31:43.380 the first episode

00:31:44.220 of King David

00:31:45.020 starts with him

00:31:47.000 with the slingshot,

00:31:48.360 right?

00:31:49.020 And Goliath?

00:31:50.660 Yeah,

00:31:51.200 it really is

00:31:51.920 the classic

00:31:52.600 hero's journey.

00:31:53.620 Season one

00:31:54.200 of Pass of David

00:31:55.000 is the story

00:31:58.760 of the rise

00:32:00.140 of this young

00:32:01.540 outcast shepherd boy

00:32:02.860 chosen to be king

00:32:04.880 in a nation

00:32:05.460 that already had one

00:32:06.480 slaying a giant,

00:32:07.640 and it really is

00:32:08.600 that classic storytelling,

00:32:10.900 and I think

00:32:11.880 in many ways

00:32:12.700 David is the

00:32:14.140 origin of many

00:32:15.060 of those other

00:32:15.680 origin stories.

00:32:16.780 I mean,

00:32:16.940 this is the original

00:32:17.700 hero's journey,

00:32:18.740 and so if you like

00:32:19.400 those classic stories

00:32:21.280 like Lord of the Rings

00:32:22.780 or Star Wars

00:32:24.540 or Harry Potter,

00:32:25.340 I think a lot

00:32:25.900 of those stories

00:32:27.160 have their roots

00:32:28.540 in many ways

00:32:29.300 in David,

00:32:30.100 and this is the first,

00:32:31.700 the original

00:32:32.640 hero's journey

00:32:35.640 kind of,

00:32:36.200 or one of them,

00:32:36.740 and so it's going

00:32:39.200 to feel very familiar

00:32:39.940 even if you're not

00:32:40.780 familiar with the material.

00:32:42.080 Ari,

00:32:42.300 do you,

00:32:43.800 I've always thought

00:32:45.300 when I read that story

00:32:46.180 that everybody was like,

00:32:47.980 David, 0.98

00:32:48.380 shut your mouth, 1.00

00:32:49.140 what are you doing? 0.98

00:32:49.920 This kid doesn't have a chance,

00:32:51.320 this kid doesn't have a chance,

00:32:52.520 what are you doing?

00:32:53.780 How did you explain

00:32:55.580 or deal with the,

00:32:57.800 here's this kid

00:32:58.880 that nobody thinks

00:33:00.820 has a chance

00:33:01.560 stepping up?

00:33:03.300 How did you deal

00:33:04.000 with the rest

00:33:04.800 of the army

00:33:05.340 that was there?

00:33:06.000 Well,

00:33:07.380 it's,

00:33:07.960 it's,

00:33:08.880 that's the fun thing,

00:33:10.280 you know,

00:33:10.560 Ken Burns,

00:33:11.160 I think,

00:33:11.480 calls it

00:33:11.980 emotional archaeology

00:33:13.640 is the idea of,

00:33:14.820 you know,

00:33:15.040 when you study history

00:33:16.120 and then you,

00:33:17.640 you really make it

00:33:18.740 real and emotional,

00:33:19.600 and that was one

00:33:20.240 of the questions

00:33:21.000 that I had

00:33:21.820 was,

00:33:23.060 how in the world

00:33:24.460 did King Saul

00:33:25.560 let this kid 0.84

00:33:26.760 go out

00:33:27.340 and fight

00:33:28.040 this giant?

00:33:29.440 And we,

00:33:29.820 we really spend

00:33:30.680 a lot of time

00:33:31.780 answering that question,

00:33:33.180 and I think the reason

00:33:34.020 is that,

00:33:34.540 that,

00:33:35.440 that Saul

00:33:36.340 sensed,

00:33:37.600 you know,

00:33:38.080 David was also

00:33:38.920 anointed king

00:33:39.620 and he sensed

00:33:40.180 that courage

00:33:40.780 and conviction

00:33:41.480 and when no one

00:33:43.180 else was willing

00:33:44.100 to,

00:33:44.640 to challenge

00:33:45.580 Goliath,

00:33:47.360 you know,

00:33:48.280 David was so

00:33:49.140 passionate about it

00:33:50.060 that somehow

00:33:50.660 that,

00:33:51.840 that convinced

00:33:52.620 a king

00:33:54.180 to say yes

00:33:55.000 and that was

00:33:55.460 a pretty cool

00:33:56.520 thing to dramatize

00:33:58.940 and really try

00:33:59.640 to get right.

00:34:00.180 I had not seen

00:34:00.840 anything in film

00:34:01.680 and television

00:34:02.160 that really was

00:34:03.220 like,

00:34:03.480 you know,

00:34:03.680 I feel like

00:34:04.440 that,

00:34:04.800 that feels real

00:34:05.500 to me

00:34:05.900 and,

00:34:06.360 and so we,

00:34:07.880 it's a pretty

00:34:08.420 spectacular

00:34:09.080 episode of the series

00:34:11.580 and the series

00:34:12.220 really is,

00:34:13.040 I've never had

00:34:13.940 resources to put

00:34:14.800 things on an epic

00:34:15.580 stage like this

00:34:16.660 and,

00:34:17.540 and,

00:34:18.700 and it really

00:34:19.600 is an epic TV show

00:34:20.680 and I,

00:34:21.300 I love it

00:34:22.260 and I really hope

00:34:22.960 the,

00:34:23.200 the audience

00:34:24.240 loves it as well

00:34:24.920 and I hope

00:34:25.320 it draws attention

00:34:26.000 to,

00:34:26.760 I remember,

00:34:27.460 you know,

00:34:27.800 when some Amazon

00:34:28.680 executives first read

00:34:30.100 the scripts,

00:34:30.700 they're like,

00:34:31.000 we really like

00:34:31.640 these scripts

00:34:32.100 I'm like,

00:34:32.440 you know,

00:34:32.680 it's based off

00:34:33.260 a bestseller,

00:34:33.920 you should check

00:34:34.380 it out,

00:34:34.820 it'll change

00:34:35.260 your life,

00:34:36.200 you know,

00:34:36.960 five billion copies

00:34:38.680 can't be wrong,

00:34:39.720 right,

00:34:40.000 if I'm in there

00:34:40.420 that's good,

00:34:41.280 so that's what,

00:34:41.820 that's my hope,

00:34:42.220 I hope people

00:34:42.620 will,

00:34:42.940 will,

00:34:43.300 will read the

00:34:44.180 Psalms of David

00:34:44.800 in a whole new way.

00:34:45.480 How did you deal

00:34:48.720 with Goliath?

00:34:49.940 You know,

00:34:50.140 he's described

00:34:50.660 as a giant,

00:34:51.540 blah,

00:34:51.720 blah,

00:34:51.860 blah,

00:34:52.000 and I think

00:34:52.580 you have him

00:34:54.800 portrayed as

00:34:55.460 something like

00:34:55.940 14 feet tall.

00:34:57.780 Why do we believe

00:34:59.200 he was,

00:34:59.880 I mean,

00:35:00.060 other than the

00:35:00.740 scriptures tell us

00:35:01.360 he was a giant,

00:35:02.420 what do we think

00:35:03.960 was happening there

00:35:04.840 with this guy?

00:35:06.760 Well,

00:35:07.040 you know,

00:35:07.240 what's interesting

00:35:07.720 about that is

00:35:08.320 we really go

00:35:09.000 into a lot of

00:35:09.560 the sort of,

00:35:10.480 I would call it

00:35:11.300 the mythology

00:35:11.940 of at least

00:35:14.420 what,

00:35:15.040 you know,

00:35:16.260 Israelites at that time

00:35:17.460 would have thought

00:35:18.200 Goliath was

00:35:19.500 and this whole

00:35:20.300 backstory of

00:35:21.660 the Nephilim

00:35:23.360 and of sort of

00:35:24.340 fallen angels

00:35:25.240 and that there was

00:35:25.800 sort of at least

00:35:26.940 a myth in that day

00:35:28.100 or,

00:35:28.940 or,

00:35:29.260 or true,

00:35:30.000 who knows,

00:35:30.480 you know,

00:35:30.840 that,

00:35:31.380 that,

00:35:31.800 that,

00:35:33.240 that would have

00:35:33.720 struck fear

00:35:34.580 into,

00:35:35.200 into,

00:35:35.700 into Israel

00:35:36.340 that really explains

00:35:37.420 why he would have

00:35:39.240 taunted them

00:35:39.760 for 40 days

00:35:40.700 and so we needed

00:35:41.780 an enormous guy,

00:35:43.100 not only tall

00:35:43.780 but also broad,

00:35:44.780 you know,

00:35:44.980 Thanos and Avengers

00:35:45.900 was always sort of

00:35:46.660 my,

00:35:47.080 my sort of benchmark

00:35:48.580 for the character

00:35:49.400 and Martin Ford

00:35:50.220 who's just wonderful

00:35:51.220 and in the Mortal Kombat

00:35:53.240 movies and just a great guy

00:35:55.140 played the role

00:35:56.720 and,

00:35:57.220 and you,

00:35:57.460 you get to know

00:35:57.940 the character as well.

00:35:58.880 I think,

00:35:59.300 you know,

00:35:59.760 that's what television

00:36:00.480 gives you the opportunity

00:36:01.260 to do is,

00:36:02.800 and he,

00:36:03.580 and we went big.

00:36:04.600 I mean,

00:36:04.820 he is,

00:36:05.260 he's,

00:36:05.740 he's as tall,

00:36:07.120 he's as big as,

00:36:07.940 as could be historically

00:36:08.900 justified

00:36:09.440 but I also think

00:36:10.720 it's justified

00:36:11.200 by the material.

00:36:12.120 I mean,

00:36:12.220 he really did

00:36:12.760 strike terror

00:36:13.500 into,

00:36:14.680 you know,

00:36:16.280 into the army

00:36:17.280 and that's why

00:36:18.860 they,

00:36:19.300 there was this

00:36:19.740 40 day standstill

00:36:20.860 and when you see

00:36:21.780 Martin Ford,

00:36:22.920 when I saw him

00:36:23.700 in person,

00:36:24.180 one of the questions

00:36:24.740 people asked

00:36:25.280 from the trailers

00:36:25.820 was David afraid

00:36:26.840 and I can assure you

00:36:30.460 he would have been afraid

00:36:31.360 and I think

00:36:31.920 anytime you try

00:36:32.960 something great

00:36:33.620 or something

00:36:34.240 that you feel

00:36:34.700 you're destined

00:36:35.400 or called to do,

00:36:36.240 you're going

00:36:37.040 to have to

00:36:37.660 step beyond

00:36:38.500 your fear

00:36:39.020 and so,

00:36:41.540 and so Martin

00:36:42.540 is just,

00:36:43.100 is just terrifying

00:36:44.160 when he's in costume

00:36:45.060 and then when you

00:36:45.560 use visual effects

00:36:46.660 to blow him up, 0.77

00:36:47.800 so did you,

00:36:48.200 it's,

00:36:48.700 it's,

00:36:49.700 it's,

00:36:49.900 it's even more scary.

00:36:50.860 Did you have him

00:36:51.620 like eat snacks

00:36:52.640 or anything

00:36:53.100 because he's,

00:36:54.100 I mean,

00:36:54.260 he's really ripped

00:36:55.160 but I was just

00:36:56.400 watching a cowboy movie,

00:36:58.000 I had a cowboy movie

00:36:58.700 I was painting

00:36:59.440 this weekend

00:36:59.980 and,

00:37:00.280 and I don't remember

00:37:01.940 who it was,

00:37:02.440 John Wayne or somebody

00:37:03.220 and they took

00:37:03.880 their shirt off

00:37:04.620 and I was like,

00:37:05.820 ooh,

00:37:05.960 that's not a good look,

00:37:06.840 John,

00:37:07.500 because back then

00:37:08.880 you weren't cut,

00:37:10.420 you know,

00:37:10.740 now you take

00:37:11.940 your shirt off

00:37:12.740 and you better be cut

00:37:13.860 but especially back then

00:37:16.400 he just would have

00:37:17.680 been enormous

00:37:18.440 and not,

00:37:19.420 you know,

00:37:19.620 exactly,

00:37:20.140 right?

00:37:20.760 Yeah,

00:37:21.000 yeah,

00:37:21.180 I'm glad you mentioned

00:37:21.880 that because he was

00:37:22.600 coming off the,

00:37:23.600 the Roland Emmerich

00:37:24.620 TV show,

00:37:25.660 Bill's About to Die

00:37:27.140 on Peacock

00:37:28.060 and he was very sort of,

00:37:28.900 he played a gladiator

00:37:29.720 and he was very sort of cut

00:37:30.780 and I did say that,

00:37:32.320 you know,

00:37:33.140 these people

00:37:34.320 would have had to

00:37:34.980 survive on the land

00:37:37.380 and,

00:37:37.880 and with really

00:37:38.920 formidable circumstances

00:37:40.140 he just would have been big,

00:37:41.580 he would have been like

00:37:42.300 a gigantic grizzly bear,

00:37:44.300 you know,

00:37:44.740 and,

00:37:45.580 and so that's what we went for

00:37:47.440 and he started,

00:37:48.400 whatever bodybuilders say,

00:37:51.160 carving,

00:37:51.560 I don't know,

00:37:52.180 but he did whatever

00:37:52.880 he needed to do

00:37:53.600 to just get big

00:37:54.960 and,

00:37:55.620 and he does,

00:37:56.300 he looks like,

00:37:57.440 okay,

00:37:57.740 I,

00:37:58.000 I buy that this character

00:37:59.400 would have just been

00:38:00.140 a formidable beast

00:38:01.880 you know,

00:38:03.160 of a human

00:38:03.740 but not,

00:38:05.040 not necessarily

00:38:05.640 a bodybuilder

00:38:07.180 and,

00:38:07.640 and I credit Martin

00:38:08.560 for doing that,

00:38:09.180 I mean,

00:38:09.300 he's just very,

00:38:09.920 very,

00:38:10.260 very dedicated

00:38:11.040 as an actor

00:38:11.800 and,

00:38:12.320 and he did the work

00:38:13.880 and,

00:38:14.180 and,

00:38:14.580 well,

00:38:15.260 if you ever,

00:38:15.660 he really looks great

00:38:16.180 and I'm very proud of,

00:38:17.080 if you ever need somebody

00:38:18.160 that just looks big and fat

00:38:19.500 and doesn't have like

00:38:20.560 a bodybuilding shape,

00:38:21.940 you know,

00:38:22.720 to them,

00:38:23.060 you can call me,

00:38:23.840 I'm,

00:38:24.100 I'm willing to eat

00:38:24.960 as much as you want,

00:38:26.140 you know.

00:38:26.660 You'd be like the spectators

00:38:30.260 like,

00:38:30.640 I'm not going to go out there.

00:38:32.500 I am,

00:38:33.180 I am often,

00:38:33.940 I remind myself

00:38:34.760 how glad I am

00:38:35.620 to be on the dark side

00:38:36.880 of the camera

00:38:37.480 and I love working

00:38:39.040 with a great actor

00:38:40.380 but,

00:38:41.240 but it's nice to be on,

00:38:42.840 it's nice to be on the camera,

00:38:44.860 on the side of the camera

00:38:45.680 where no one recognizes you

00:38:47.060 and you can eat Taco Bell

00:38:48.280 whenever you want.

00:38:49.580 So,

00:38:49.940 the Wonder Project

00:38:50.800 is,

00:38:51.200 is the company

00:38:52.000 that you started.

00:38:52.620 You're also doing

00:38:53.300 the Wright Brothers?

00:38:55.840 Yeah,

00:38:56.060 we're developing

00:38:56.600 quite a bit.

00:38:57.660 Jeremy Latcham

00:38:58.360 that produced

00:38:59.300 Iron Man

00:39:00.220 and many other movies

00:39:00.800 at Marvel.

00:39:01.620 You know,

00:39:01.760 there's just this movement

00:39:02.560 and,

00:39:03.160 you know,

00:39:04.160 the things that I'm

00:39:04.760 really passionate about

00:39:06.000 are,

00:39:06.620 are,

00:39:07.180 you know,

00:39:07.580 the Bible

00:39:08.020 and then also

00:39:08.580 the American story.

00:39:10.280 You're doing

00:39:11.020 George Washington still?

00:39:13.240 I'm doing,

00:39:13.960 yeah,

00:39:14.060 my next movie

00:39:14.760 as soon as I wrap,

00:39:16.100 I guess it's okay

00:39:16.660 to say this,

00:39:17.300 it's live,

00:39:17.820 who knows?

00:39:18.640 It's,

00:39:19.580 my next film

00:39:21.360 that I go immediately

00:39:22.000 into pre-production on

00:39:23.020 is the young life

00:39:24.080 of George Washington.

00:39:25.020 I know we share

00:39:25.540 that passion

00:39:26.080 for just the great figure

00:39:28.060 in American history

00:39:29.300 and his formation.

00:39:30.860 We're developing

00:39:31.560 the Wright Brothers

00:39:32.340 and,

00:39:32.880 and there's just

00:39:34.360 quite a bit

00:39:34.860 of stories.

00:39:35.500 I just,

00:39:36.020 I love America's story

00:39:37.740 and what it represents.

00:39:39.020 And,

00:39:39.160 you know,

00:39:39.500 hang on just a second.

00:39:41.360 Hang on,

00:39:41.600 what are you,

00:39:41.900 when you're doing

00:39:42.880 the young George Washington,

00:39:44.320 are you,

00:39:45.040 are you making his mother 1.00

00:39:46.680 a giant pain in the ass 1.00

00:39:48.160 because she was? 1.00

00:39:50.140 You know,

00:39:50.820 there's been,

00:39:51.520 in the three revisions

00:39:52.640 of the script,

00:39:53.440 it's trying to figure out

00:39:55.040 on a dial

00:39:56.440 of like two to nine

00:39:58.320 how much of a pain

00:39:59.740 she could do.

00:40:00.480 I mean,

00:40:00.980 not many people realize,

00:40:02.400 I think you pointed this out,

00:40:03.660 I remember that,

00:40:04.220 that she wrote a letter

00:40:05.860 like in criticism

00:40:07.140 of him not,

00:40:07.980 he shouldn't like

00:40:08.840 run to be president

00:40:09.740 for a second term

00:40:10.960 because of his

00:40:11.580 ice cream habit.

00:40:13.200 And she got him

00:40:13.920 when he was,

00:40:14.560 when he was young,

00:40:15.820 he went up the gang plane,

00:40:17.140 he was going to join

00:40:17.880 the British Navy

00:40:19.240 and he was,

00:40:20.280 I don't know,

00:40:20.720 15 and she was like,

00:40:22.040 no George,

00:40:22.800 you can't leave me.

00:40:23.820 No George,

00:40:24.240 yeah,

00:40:24.740 that's one of the real

00:40:25.660 elements of the story

00:40:26.880 and it brings comic relief

00:40:29.680 but also you see

00:40:30.380 the pressure he was under

00:40:31.380 and he really had

00:40:32.300 to become a man

00:40:33.040 long before his time

00:40:34.620 because of the death

00:40:35.260 of his father

00:40:35.820 and his half-brother.

00:40:36.800 And it also,

00:40:37.620 it also is important

00:40:39.200 to show that,

00:40:40.240 I mean,

00:40:40.840 when he came back down

00:40:42.040 off that gangplank

00:40:42.920 and brought his stuff back

00:40:44.640 and said,

00:40:45.140 mom,

00:40:45.620 if you need me

00:40:47.360 by your side,

00:40:48.160 by your side,

00:40:48.780 I will remain.

00:40:49.660 It shows that he sacrificed

00:40:51.660 everything he wanted to do

00:40:53.280 his whole life,

00:40:54.360 his whole life,

00:40:55.380 he sacrificed for others.

00:40:57.140 He did that over

00:40:58.220 and over again.

00:40:58.880 Yeah,

00:40:59.120 that is a common thread

00:41:00.360 of his relationship

00:41:02.160 to what he felt

00:41:03.040 was his duty

00:41:04.480 and purpose

00:41:06.380 was so strong

00:41:07.140 and long before

00:41:07.760 there was an American anthem

00:41:09.060 or an American flag,

00:41:10.240 you know,

00:41:10.360 there was one man

00:41:11.500 that galvanized

00:41:13.340 this idea

00:41:14.140 for a long period of time

00:41:16.020 and so I love

00:41:16.920 to study the formation

00:41:18.140 of leaders like that

00:41:19.780 and that's also a story

00:41:21.120 I've been wanting to tell

00:41:22.000 for a long time

00:41:22.680 and I do want to just say

00:41:23.760 it is the voice

00:41:25.260 of the audience

00:41:26.000 that allows us

00:41:26.880 to do these projects.

00:41:28.700 When we started negotiating

00:41:29.740 with Amazon Prime,

00:41:31.660 creative control

00:41:32.400 was an essential

00:41:33.580 non-negotiable

00:41:34.480 item

00:41:34.940 and they were glad

00:41:36.680 to give it to us

00:41:37.520 because of the success

00:41:38.660 of the work

00:41:39.800 and so there's a relationship

00:41:41.660 between a small group

00:41:42.500 of filmmakers

00:41:43.080 that I'm so grateful

00:41:44.680 to be a part of

00:41:45.380 but there's also

00:41:46.400 a relationship

00:41:46.920 with all of us

00:41:47.860 as an audience

00:41:48.580 and when we support

00:41:49.440 these things

00:41:50.100 it gives us leverage

00:41:51.600 to get more things made

00:41:53.200 and if you watch

00:41:54.260 the trailer

00:41:54.580 to House of David

00:41:55.180 you know,

00:41:55.460 I've never been able

00:41:56.080 to put anything

00:41:56.780 on this sort of

00:41:58.780 epic scope

00:42:00.020 and scale

00:42:00.740 and it really is

00:42:02.260 because of our

00:42:03.000 unified voice

00:42:04.080 that these things

00:42:05.140 are happening

00:42:05.700 and I'm telling you

00:42:06.800 there is a revolution

00:42:08.000 of values

00:42:09.380 and belief

00:42:10.520 going on

00:42:11.820 in Hollywood

00:42:12.600 right now.

00:42:13.460 Yeah.

00:42:13.860 John,
