00:00:00.000 You didn't melt the Liberty Bell, right?

00:00:02.200 You didn't burn down Independence Hall or anything like that.

00:00:05.320 Look, if our nation's history has to suffer for an Eagles Super Bowl trip, so be it.

00:00:10.120 Right.

00:00:10.520 I don't care.

00:00:11.340 I don't understand the celebratory burning things down.

00:00:15.560 You might recognize it more if I explained to you the concept of alcohol.

00:00:23.040 I mean, generally, I don't understand burning things down to the ground.

00:00:28.140 But once you added that little tidbit, it changes the whole picture, doesn't it?

00:00:34.960 It's going to be a great Super Bowl.

00:00:36.680 All right.

00:00:37.140 Coming up on today's podcast, we hit an awful lot.

00:00:42.200 We started the show with a look into the GOP and my feeling of don't send them another dime

00:00:52.680 and tell them you're not going to send them another dime.

00:00:56.500 But that may be hate, just me.

00:00:58.580 Also, we have an expert on what is going on.

00:01:01.160 Somebody who was born in the Soviet Union.

00:01:03.720 Somebody whose great-grandfather died in a gulag because, you ready for this?

00:01:09.160 He committed the crime of owning a bakery.

00:01:13.660 Talk about what is coming.

00:01:15.640 Also, a deep dive on the economy.

00:01:18.500 What you need to be prepared for.

00:01:20.620 If baked goods are a crime, I don't want to go directly to prison.

00:01:24.660 Amen.

00:01:25.320 Amen.

00:01:26.340 By the way, subscribe to the podcast right here on your podcast app.

00:01:30.520 Also, Studios America, available every single day.

00:01:32.820 You should subscribe to that as well.

00:01:34.040 And blazetv.com slash Glenn.

00:01:35.580 Promo code is Glenn.

00:01:36.780 Sponsored by Jace Medical, the American Society of Healthcare Pharmacists.

00:01:40.820 This is a group that tracks...

00:01:41.820 By the way, we didn't talk about this.

00:01:43.160 Did you hear about the WHO coming out with new nuclear stuff?

00:01:48.960 Who?

00:01:49.940 Yeah.

00:01:50.980 I'm not playing that game.

00:01:52.720 I tried to lure you in.

00:01:53.800 I know.

00:01:54.700 They came out and said, you know, maybe you should stockpile some more, you know, iodine tablets.

00:02:03.140 Oh, yeah.

00:02:03.760 You need some, I don't know, some antibiotics.

00:02:07.240 Maybe just have those on hand right now.

00:02:09.660 I mean, it's not that we're not talking about Russia or the war or anything.

00:02:12.620 We're just saying, oh, okay.

00:02:15.280 Well, the healthcare pharmacist side of healthcare pharmacists have come out and said, we're already

00:02:19.900 at a shortage of antibiotics, especially amoxicillin.

00:02:24.000 Kind of a critical drug there, I'm just saying.

00:02:27.520 Jace Case is the answer from Jace Medical.

00:02:31.320 It is a great way to keep yourself prepared for the worst.

00:02:34.200 It is a pack of five different courses of antibiotics that you can use to treat a long

00:02:40.060 list of bacterial illnesses in case things go wrong and there's a shortage or you're

00:02:45.160 on vacation and you're away from your doctor.

00:02:47.920 You can treat things like UTIs, respiratory infections, sinusitis, skin infections, and a

00:02:53.160 whole lot more.

00:02:53.800 However, I really urge you to take care of your family and have the basics on hand.

00:02:59.980 The Jace Case from Jace, J-A-S-E, medical.com.

00:03:06.340 Jacemedical.com.

00:03:07.460 Make sure you use the offer code BEC10 at checkout and you'll save 10 bucks off your order.

00:03:12.460 Jacemedical.com, offer code BEC10.

00:03:14.620 So, Stu is here wearing his Eagles hoodie and I just, I have to check.

00:03:35.860 I haven't, I haven't checked on the news yet.

00:03:38.420 I saw the Eagles win and immediately my concern was for the safety of the Liberty Bell.

00:03:46.040 Did they melt it?

00:03:47.600 No.

00:03:48.100 No.

00:03:48.380 There were some bus stations that were on fire that were damaged.

00:03:53.020 Okay.

00:03:53.380 Some light poles did not do so well.

00:03:55.160 Okay.

00:03:55.620 During the celebration.

00:03:56.680 All right.

00:03:56.940 Yeah.

00:03:57.140 I love those celebrations.

00:03:58.500 I mean, that's the way, that's the way, you know, when Tanya and I first got married,

00:04:03.460 we took our rental house and burned it down to the ground in celebration.

00:04:06.640 It was wonderful.

00:04:07.940 It's the only way to show you really care.

00:04:09.880 Okay.

00:04:10.920 Let's, let's take you to San Francisco.

00:04:14.600 In case you don't know, the video came out of Paul Pelosi's attacker on Friday afternoon.

00:04:21.760 It was after we were on the show.

00:04:24.220 So we didn't have a chance to comment on it.

00:04:26.240 I did comment on it online and it went viral and it is splitting everybody apart because

00:04:32.840 what I said was, why didn't you release this right away?

00:04:37.580 It is clear.

00:04:39.280 This is a hostage situation.

00:04:41.580 Okay.

00:04:42.360 There's no doubt in my mind.

00:04:44.660 There was nothing going on there except a hostage situation.

00:04:50.080 Now there were some facts that the media had gotten wrong, but honestly, I mean, I read

00:04:55.940 a story where they're like, NBC needs to apologize.

00:04:58.660 No, no.

00:05:00.700 He was wrong in those facts.

00:05:02.840 Now I don't know why they.

00:05:04.180 You're talking about the guy who was suspended?

00:05:05.440 Yeah.

00:05:05.900 Yeah.

00:05:06.080 You know, I went back and listened to that and I don't know, 95% of it seemed like exactly

00:05:10.360 what I saw on the tape.

00:05:11.100 He said that, uh, he opened the door and then didn't immediately say anything.

00:05:16.620 He couldn't.

00:05:17.500 Right.

00:05:17.720 He didn't.

00:05:18.240 Right.

00:05:18.540 Right, right, right, right.

00:05:19.140 Yeah.

00:05:19.420 But I mean, but he's also said that he walked back before all of those things are true, 0.99

00:05:24.260 but the context was wrong.

00:05:26.460 Yeah.

00:05:26.880 I would say that's, that's accurate.

00:05:28.640 But there's no reason he should have been fired or suspended.

00:05:32.760 I don't even understand that.

00:05:34.340 Okay.

00:05:34.640 That's clearly political in his firing.

00:05:38.140 It was wrong in context, but his facts were right.

00:05:43.000 Okay.

00:05:43.860 Um, now after this was released, the guy with a hammer called from the San Francisco County

00:05:54.040 jail.

00:05:55.620 And this is what he said.

00:05:57.860 What did you want to tell me?

00:06:00.320 Um, not that y'all have seen the body cam footage.

00:06:02.120 I have an important message for everyone in America.

00:06:07.580 You're welcome.

00:06:10.200 The tree of liberty isn't dying.

00:06:12.860 It's being killed systematically and deliberately.

00:06:16.500 The people killing it have names and addresses.

00:06:19.360 So I got their names and addresses so I could pay them a little visit.

00:06:22.160 I have a heart-to-heart chat about their bad behavior.

00:06:24.000 The tree of liberty needs watering.

00:06:26.940 The tree of liberty needs watering.

00:06:27.540 The tree of liberty needs men of valor.

00:06:29.220 Patriots willing to put their own lives on the line to stand in opposition to tyranny.

00:06:32.380 This guy.

00:06:34.120 I would also like to apologize.

00:06:36.580 I want to apologize to everyone.

00:06:38.720 I messed up.

00:06:40.060 What I did was really bad.

00:06:41.740 I'm so sorry.

00:06:43.020 I didn't get more of them.

00:06:45.000 It's my own fault.

00:06:46.320 No one else is to blame.

00:06:47.600 I should have come better prepared.

00:06:48.720 I spent all my time exposing government to traveling online.

00:06:52.720 Only to have them silence my briefest speech as quickly as they could.

00:06:56.800 It circumvented the constitution of the private industry.

00:07:00.340 When the grooming class outsourges the retraction of your civil rights to the private industry,

00:07:04.620 it's called fascism.

00:07:05.760 Okay, this guy, A, is clearly not insane.

00:07:15.160 I mean, he seems to be speaking with reason in his own world.

00:07:25.080 You know, it's not ranting and raving here.

00:07:28.680 He is clearly, however, disturbed.

00:07:32.000 I don't know what it is with this guy.

00:07:34.100 I don't know how you take a lifelong hippie, a lifelong guy who has been not on the left,

00:07:42.700 on the far, far left.

00:07:45.400 The nudist left.

00:07:46.380 Yeah, the nudist left.

00:07:48.260 How you get him, who still has a BLM flag and a rainbow flag in his window of his home,

00:07:56.420 how you get him there, I don't know.

00:07:59.400 Now, they'll say, well, he was listening to the conspiracy theories online.

00:08:05.180 That's what he is doing.

00:08:07.620 Well, what about all the conspiracy theories on the left?

00:08:11.420 Are those just not effective?

00:08:14.960 I mean, let's remember, we had the same kind of guy go to try to kill our Supreme Court justices.

00:08:21.220 This is what happens when you have a world that has been set on fire and it was set deliberately.

00:08:33.900 It was set by the people who hate this country and want to reset it.

00:08:41.220 Now, there's two groups, the Marxists and the anarchists, and the other group are the people like the World Economic Forum.

00:08:50.800 They are undermining our story, our society, our wealth, our industry, our food.

00:09:01.260 They are undermining all of it, and it is clear.

00:09:08.540 So, what do we do about it?

00:09:11.080 Well, definitely not what he did.

00:09:14.920 Definitely not what he did.

00:09:17.440 But also, definitely not what the media did in this very case.

00:09:25.040 What did they do?

00:09:26.160 They immediately, they came out with a story and then immediately shut down everything.

00:09:32.620 How long did it take us to get the horrible, horrible footage from the cops on the beating in Memphis?

00:09:42.400 How long did that take us?

00:09:43.960 Two days?

00:09:47.760 How long?

00:09:48.600 I thought it was weeks.

00:09:49.440 Because they did have, they went through the whole thing where they fired the people, then the cops, then they announced the charges on the cops.

00:09:56.860 Okay.

00:09:57.180 They were complaining about how long it took.

00:09:59.580 Okay.

00:10:00.180 They were complaining how long it took.

00:10:02.360 Who was complaining?

00:10:03.320 The, you know, the people protesting in the streets.

00:10:05.480 People protesting in the streets.

00:10:06.660 Most likely the left.

00:10:08.340 Now, everybody is upset and should be.

00:10:11.680 If you're not, if you've seen that video from Memphis, you should be horrified.

00:10:17.480 But there is an explanation for that and how that happened and why that happened.

00:10:22.540 And we can get into that later.

00:10:24.660 But you release the videos.

00:10:27.400 You don't want trouble.

00:10:28.680 You release the video.

00:10:30.960 Every step of the way, they tried to shut down information.

00:10:35.780 When you shut down information and lack transparency in a world that doesn't trust anyone, what happens?

00:10:49.620 People start making up their own stories.

00:10:53.820 Conspiracy theories happen in a society that is shut down all information because they'll see things and they'll be like, that's not right.

00:11:02.680 Something's wrong with that.

00:11:03.820 How did you get this guy?

00:11:07.060 Well, okay.

00:11:07.960 It can happen.

00:11:09.060 And apparently it has happened.

00:11:11.920 But all of the other facts, the BLM, the rainbow flag, all of these things, and him being a lifelong nudist style hippie, just didn't fit.

00:11:24.560 It doesn't mean it wasn't true.

00:11:26.220 So let me give you Journalism 101.

00:11:31.260 Question authority.

00:11:34.680 That's Journalism 101.

00:11:38.320 You question the details.

00:11:42.000 You don't just take it on their word.

00:11:45.860 That's the problem with our society.

00:11:48.480 Journalists just take them at their word.

00:11:52.820 And they do it not because they're part of some conspiracy or anything.

00:11:58.660 They do it because they believe the left is right about America.

00:12:04.040 They honestly believe it.

00:12:06.500 I honestly don't.

00:12:09.400 I think a return to the Constitution and the Bill of Rights is the only way out for freedom.

00:12:18.340 So the Seattle Times, they come and put a list together who, quote, made fun of Paul Pelosi.

00:12:28.640 And it says in their headline, hold them accountable.

00:12:33.220 I'm sorry.

00:12:33.660 That's from Adam Kinzinger.

00:12:36.520 Hold them accountable.

00:12:38.600 These are the people that raised doubts and amplified conspiracy, according to the Seattle Times.

00:12:45.540 Ted Cruz, Clay Higgins, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

00:12:50.540 Here it is.

00:12:51.400 Prominent figures.

00:12:53.280 Number one, Glenn Beck.

00:12:55.620 What did I do?

00:12:56.920 Raised doubts about the details of the attack.

00:13:03.300 Now, how did I raise doubts?

00:13:07.000 I addressed doubts.

00:13:10.480 Why haven't they released this?

00:13:13.260 Look at what's happening online.

00:13:15.940 Conspiracy theories.

00:13:17.780 Was he part of a gay group?

00:13:19.520 Did he know this was a setup?

00:13:21.920 What happened?

00:13:22.940 What I said was, release the footage.

00:13:29.320 Why won't you release the footage?

00:13:32.440 It will tell the story clearly and you'll be past all of this.

00:13:37.740 So when authorities tell me this is what's going on and we don't want any conspiracy theories and they have the way to stop all conspiracy theories.

00:13:49.660 And they don't do it.

00:13:52.280 Everyone should raise doubt.

00:13:54.580 What is going on?

00:13:56.020 Why won't you do that?

00:13:57.700 They still haven't told us why they waited so long.

00:14:01.700 Was it truly because of the both sides of the court said they didn't want it out?

00:14:10.760 Most likely.

00:14:12.580 Ninety nine percent.

00:14:14.860 However, because all of the activity from everyone, including NBC.

00:14:19.780 Why did you fire this guy or suspend him?

00:14:24.440 Why didn't you just come out and and say the truth that we found not up to our standards? 0.99

00:14:31.100 Bull crap. 0.95

00:14:32.600 Have you suspended people who reported all kinds of misinformation in the last five years? 0.99

00:14:39.840 I can guarantee you, no.

00:14:42.200 So why the punishment on this guy?

00:14:44.700 Why these things just take conspiracy theorists and just has their wheels turning.

00:14:54.660 There is no intent from most people, I think, in the media and most people in positions of power to actually get to the truth.

00:15:10.000 You want to know why conspiracy theories are happening?

00:15:12.940 Because what truly happened in the 2020 election and the 2022 election?

00:15:22.780 Now, I'm not saying it was stolen.

00:15:25.600 I'm not saying it wasn't stolen.

00:15:28.060 I'm saying there's enough out there to make a reasonable person question.

00:15:34.360 And if the roles were reversed, you know, the Democrats would have been raising hell over this.

00:15:43.160 So now it's the Republicans raising hell.

00:15:47.440 OK.

00:15:49.260 What do you say we take that power to raise hell away from both sides?

00:15:54.600 Why is it no one will actually do an official and credible accounting?

00:16:05.380 My guess is there's nobody that we all trust.

00:16:09.060 So what do we do?

00:16:15.100 What do we do?

00:16:16.640 Well, first thing you do is you do not take to heart.

00:16:23.260 People that say things like that phone call from San Francisco, you do not do that.

00:16:29.220 You, you know, I was reading, I was reading today out of Mark and I've highlighted two things.

00:16:40.580 When you see these things come to pass, do not be alarmed.

00:16:45.260 And then a couple of verses later, it says, but you must be on guard.

00:16:51.380 So that's what you need to do.

00:16:53.720 You're seeing things.

00:16:56.180 You're seeing things that will lead to our destruction.

00:16:59.900 Don't be alarmed.

00:17:01.940 Just be on guard because there's going to be a lot of people that tell you, do this, do that.

00:17:08.320 False prophets.

00:17:10.300 Don't.

00:17:11.960 Don't.

00:17:14.340 Follow in the footsteps.

00:17:15.760 Make sure your feet are shod in the gospel of peace.

00:17:24.160 Your feet should take you away from things like this and towards truth.

00:17:34.960 This is the best of the Glenn Beck program.

00:17:37.860 Welcome to the Glenn Beck program.

00:17:46.660 I want to talk to you about what is coming, what you need to prepare for so you can change the way you spend money.

00:17:55.760 And let me give you some information that will help you understand how to navigate and know what is real or what is not.

00:18:06.600 You keep hearing that credit cards are going gangbusters and everybody's fine and the default rate, blah, blah, blah.

00:18:16.220 You're hearing a lot of that.

00:18:17.300 And a lot of that will be based on American Express.

00:18:21.000 Why should you not look at the stats of American Express?

00:18:28.640 Do you know, Stu?

00:18:31.280 No.

00:18:32.340 American Express is one that demands that you pay it off.

00:18:35.620 So, generally speaking, it is people who have more money that will carry an American Express.

00:18:41.680 But more importantly, American Express, your FICA score is between 40 and 60 points higher to be able to get just a regular green card American Express over Discover or Capital One.

00:18:57.440 Okay.

00:18:57.900 So, you're not looking at the riskiest ones.

00:19:03.860 Right.

00:19:04.240 Okay.

00:19:04.420 And when you look at the riskiest ones, Capital One, they've been taking, you know, subprime borrowers, people who are living on the edge and living on their credit card.

00:19:17.840 Those are Discover cards and Capital One cards, generally speaking.

00:19:22.520 Well, Capital One is turning off the spigot of the credit in a lot of places.

00:19:31.200 They've just begun doing this.

00:19:33.220 Their loss is up year over year.

00:19:37.280 $1.4 billion.

00:19:39.620 They've just had to write off this year.

00:19:41.660 Okay.

00:19:42.500 Because people failed.

00:19:46.440 Their charge-offs for both of them have gone from one and a half percentage points to four percentage points.

00:19:57.260 And we're in an economy that our leaders are telling us is good.

00:20:03.100 It's healthy.

00:20:04.020 It's growing.

00:20:05.200 It's wonderful.

00:20:06.360 What did Biden say about it?

00:20:08.280 It's, uh, God, what was it?

00:20:10.560 It was a half swear.

00:20:11.960 I can't remember what it was.

00:20:13.400 Smart as hell.

00:20:14.140 That's what it was.

00:20:14.800 Or strong as hell.

00:20:16.200 Strong as hell.

00:20:17.120 That's this economy.

00:20:17.880 Strong as hell.

00:20:18.720 If this is strong as hell, who is it strong as hell for?

00:20:23.380 You know the answer to that.

00:20:25.760 The rich.

00:20:27.100 It is getting harder and harder for the people at the bottom end.

00:20:32.060 You will have nothing and you'll be happy.

00:20:36.520 It is the promise from the World Economic Forum.

00:20:40.280 By 2030, you will be happy owning nothing.

00:20:44.800 Now, I don't know how that is possible in a society set up around ownership.

00:20:51.660 The reason why ownership is so important in America is because that's the way you can hold on to wealth, grow wealth, by buying your own home, not your car, but by buying assets and owning things that increase in value.

00:21:09.160 That's how we have lifted the poor class into the middle class and the middle class into an upper class. 0.77

00:21:18.500 That is unique and really, truly very American.

00:21:25.060 Ownership.

00:21:25.720 But you take that ownership, how are you going to save money?

00:21:30.500 How are you going to grow money?

00:21:33.520 Okay.

00:21:34.600 Now, let me take you to the cars.

00:21:37.760 People, just a few years ago, if you went to buy a used car, it was $7,000 to $15,000 average.

00:21:44.920 It is now $20,000 to $25,000 for a used car.

00:21:51.020 What's changed?

00:21:54.200 Well, the Wuhan virus changed everything.

00:21:59.220 That collapsed the supply chain.

00:22:01.540 You can't get the supply chain back on track.

00:22:05.240 Okay.

00:22:05.500 So, we're still short cars.

00:22:08.660 That makes your used car more expensive.

00:22:12.260 So, that's why you've gone from, at the top, $15,000 to now $25,000, the top of average.

00:22:21.960 Okay.

00:22:22.560 It's gone up $10,000.

00:22:25.100 Has your salary gone up?

00:22:27.880 Has your savings gone up?

00:22:30.240 Has your, I mean, with inflation.

00:22:32.460 That's real dollars.

00:22:33.800 That's not inflation.

00:22:35.240 That's real dollars.

00:22:36.440 Inflation is on top of that.

00:22:39.720 Why are we paying so much money?

00:22:42.560 For everything.

00:22:44.660 Well, one of the reasons is we're no longer leading the world.

00:22:48.360 We are intentionally hobbling ourselves with oil and gas prices.

00:22:53.640 They're not refilling the strategic oil reserve because President Biden says it's still too high.

00:23:01.680 Well, you know what?

00:23:02.880 You may be in a war that you are creating right now, President Biden.

00:23:07.300 What do you say you bite the bullet because you don't seem to have a problem spending money everywhere else and fill our national strategic supply back up?

00:23:19.860 We're intentionally shooting our feet.

00:23:24.320 So, gas prices go up, which makes people think, okay, well, they're getting rid of the gas car.

00:23:31.980 Everybody's going to electric.

00:23:33.440 Maybe I should buy an electric car.

00:23:35.380 Well, electric cars are expensive.

00:23:37.460 They're new and expensive.

00:23:42.860 Okay.

00:23:44.180 Plus, your energy costs are going up.

00:23:47.640 The more you build, the more people buy electric cars, the higher your energy price, the higher your electricity bill.

00:23:57.400 Who's paying for that? 0.60

00:24:00.640 How do I afford that on top of my brand new car?

00:24:06.000 You can't.

00:24:07.580 And if you could afford a new car, you're paying full sticker, if not above.

00:24:12.960 And you know what?

00:24:15.140 I have to buy something.

00:24:19.080 So, I'll buy a used car at an unbelievable price.

00:24:23.340 Now, let's look at the price to borrow the money for that car.

00:24:36.220 Okay.

00:24:36.900 So, on average, we have gone from 3.6 as your rate to borrow money for a car.

00:24:49.560 3.6.

00:24:50.500 The average now is 6.8.

00:24:56.180 Okay?

00:24:57.500 That's a lot of money over the lifetime.

00:25:00.040 Just in the last year, that's an additional $2,000 that you have to pay for your car.

00:25:06.120 But that's if you have good credit.

00:25:09.720 If you're subprime, subprime is as high as, with insurance, 26%.

00:25:19.780 That's loan shark stuff.

00:25:24.700 That's, you'll never, ever, ever pay for that car.

00:25:28.900 You'll never get out of that.

00:25:32.580 So, what are you going to do?

00:25:34.620 So, now people are losing their cars because our repossession of cars is now higher than it was at the peak of the financial crisis of 08.

00:25:48.500 And we're in an economy that is strong as hell.

00:25:56.040 It's not working for the average person.

00:25:59.220 I hate trickle-down economics.

00:26:03.840 It's clear you do because nothing's trickling down.

00:26:07.140 Have you noticed that?

00:26:08.400 Nothing is trickling down.

00:26:10.680 Because you're not giving any incentives for people to invest in anything.

00:26:18.060 You are dictating what technologies and everything else that you're going to invest in as the United States government.

00:26:28.840 And you're going to have and tell the banks what they should invest in.

00:26:33.540 The rest of us are holding on going, I don't know what's coming tomorrow.

00:26:37.520 And we're already doing that because of technology.

00:26:41.320 We have no idea what technology is going to do to any of our jobs.

00:26:47.640 So, do I invest in a new factory?

00:26:55.860 Do I wait for a couple of years?

00:26:58.560 There's no incentive to build a factory here.

00:27:02.280 I don't know what the energy costs are going to be.

00:27:05.940 So, there is no trickle-down.

00:27:07.600 This is society without trickle-down.

00:27:11.540 The rich just keep getting richer.

00:27:13.520 And you're not seeing any of it.

00:27:15.880 None of it.

00:27:16.620 So, here's the thing that I want you to be prepared for.

00:27:24.780 And that is helping each other out.

00:27:31.220 Being prepared with your food.

00:27:35.100 With your energy. 1.00

00:27:37.320 Don't go out and blow your money on stupid stuff. 1.00

00:27:43.140 Don't. 1.00

00:27:43.580 Everything that they are telling you in the media that we're strong as hell is not true.

00:27:49.280 Have you heard anyone talk about Saudi Arabia getting rid of the petrodollar?

00:27:54.040 Have you seen that anywhere, Stu?

00:27:55.760 No.

00:27:56.500 Hey.

00:27:56.720 How could that possibly be?

00:27:58.840 How can the Saudi say, yeah, we'll take any kind of money? 0.96

00:28:04.200 That is the United States of America going off of the gold standard.

00:28:10.260 We replaced gold with the petrodollar.

00:28:14.580 We said our dollar is the only way you can buy oil.

00:28:19.200 And that's what kept the dollar sound.

00:28:23.620 Well, now, wait a minute.

00:28:25.880 If that's no longer true, what's keeping our dollar sound?

00:28:30.660 And why hasn't there been any discussion of this?

00:28:34.540 Why isn't anyone talking about something that is going to affect you, your future, your children, your debt, your job, your medicine, everything is going to be affected by that.

00:28:50.240 And yet, nobody's told you anything about it.

00:28:57.500 I just find it curious that the leaders of expense are the things that the Great Reset is trying to get rid of.

00:29:11.480 Car, worth a fortune.

00:29:13.720 If he hadn't have emptied our strategic oil reserve, fuel would be through the roof, just like it is everywhere else.

00:29:24.820 Meat.

00:29:25.740 You know, they don't want you eating meat.

00:29:27.640 Have you seen?

00:29:28.240 It's going to go up another 15% this year.

00:29:30.760 Have you heard that stat?

00:29:33.480 Chicken.

00:29:34.220 God help us with chicken. 0.86

00:29:35.500 Did you see what happened in Connecticut this weekend?

00:29:38.120 One of the bigger chicken producers burned to the ground.

00:29:41.780 100,000 chickens gone.

00:29:45.040 What's that going to do to the price of chicken?

00:29:47.700 All of the things that they say they want to eliminate or change, all of those things going through the roof.

00:29:58.520 Can't get fertilizer. 0.79

00:30:00.600 Can't get fertilizer. 0.79

00:30:03.520 Why?

00:30:04.360 Well, Russia makes most of the fertilizer that we would use.

00:30:08.460 Oh, okay, so let's go pick a war. 0.69

00:30:10.180 With Russia. 0.96

00:30:14.220 And I want to talk to you about the war with Russia.

00:30:18.320 Because that's another thing that doesn't make sense.

00:30:21.840 Patten down the hatches.

00:30:23.680 Do your own homework.

00:30:25.760 Look at where do you have your dollars?

00:30:30.320 If you have anything.

00:30:31.680 You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.

00:30:41.380 Carol Markowitz joins us now.

00:30:43.260 She is the co-author of Stolen Youth, and she is also a New York Post columnist.

00:30:48.340 Carol, as a parent of four children, and as a typical, I think, American, I am overwhelmed with what my kids are bringing back from school and what they're having to deal with everywhere.

00:31:07.940 And I don't even know where to start.

00:31:11.380 Hi, Glenn.

00:31:12.160 Thank you so much for having me.

00:31:13.620 You bet.

00:31:13.780 Yeah, that's the real, you know, problem with what's happening around us is that it's coming at them from every direction.

00:31:20.840 It's actually not just schools.

00:31:22.360 It's happening in their pediatrician's office and in their library and on their television, obviously.

00:31:29.660 And in so many different ways, the kids are being indoctrinated.

00:31:33.340 And so in this book, we lay out all the different examples of how this is happening and what we can do about it.

00:31:40.120 I know you're very into history.

00:31:42.420 And so we start out with a historical chapter of how this isn't the first time in history that kids have been targeted in this way.

00:31:48.620 Totalitarian systems throughout history have first started with the kids.

00:31:53.980 And you mentioned I was born in the Soviet Union.

00:31:55.840 I came to the U.S. as a small child, but I, you know, was raised with the idea of this can happen at any moment.

00:32:02.820 And now it's happening.

00:32:05.000 So, so, Carol, you know, what's frightening is you don't know who to trust.

00:32:10.260 And now I'm getting to the point to where I'm talking to doctors and I don't necessarily trust them.

00:32:17.720 I talk to, you know, psychologists, child psychologists, and I really, my radar is just way up.

00:32:25.860 And you don't know who to trust.

00:32:28.360 And even if you speak frankly, a lot of times they're not speaking frankly back to you.

00:32:33.960 Yeah.

00:32:34.680 Well, that's, you know, it's going to be an uphill climb because we've allowed this to fester in our society for so long.

00:32:41.220 And so much of it went unchecked.

00:32:42.920 And look, I blame myself, you know, just as much as anybody else.

00:32:45.800 I know that there have been moments in my life where I didn't fight the way I should have for the sanity that I now, you know, demand.

00:32:53.800 And so I think parents need to understand that this is going to be a fight.

00:32:57.400 The last word in our book is fight because it's not going to be easy and it's not going to be simple and it's not going to be fast.

00:33:03.520 It's going to take a while.

00:33:04.680 You mentioned psychologists.

00:33:06.600 Kids are in this, you know, real anxiety moment where they're taught like that the world is going to end at any moment and that they have to do something about it.

00:33:17.180 And the psychologists are so responsible for this.

00:33:19.660 I have to tell you, I would I've thought about my kids and what they're going through, what they face.

00:33:26.040 And I think every time I end up the same place, I cannot imagine being a child today.

00:33:34.380 There is the world is going to end because of, you know, climate catastrophe.

00:33:40.420 Right.

00:33:40.600 You know, we're going to have to eat bugs and there is no male or female. 1.00

00:33:47.180 There's no gender. 0.99

00:33:48.440 There's no truth.

00:33:49.680 There is no God.

00:33:51.320 It is the most depressing future you could possibly think of.

00:33:57.180 And then on top of it, there's no two plus two.

00:34:01.620 So there's no real math.

00:34:03.760 There's nothing that you can turn to.

00:34:06.760 Right.

00:34:07.240 So you've just, you know, addressed everything that we talk about in the book and especially the two plus two equals five and the rest of it.

00:34:14.500 But, you know, there is hope.

00:34:16.020 And the hope that I want to explain to people is that if you come from a utilitarian society like I did, you couldn't even in your home protect your children.

00:34:25.840 You couldn't tell them the truth in your home because you risked their lives.

00:34:29.600 We're not there yet in America.

00:34:31.140 We are still at the place where you can protect your kids in the home.

00:34:34.640 You can give them the truth in your home.

00:34:37.240 And you can make them the kind of resilient adults that you want them to be, that this isn't just, yes, all of these different, you know, outlets are coming for your kids.

00:34:46.900 But you are the last line of defense.

00:34:48.660 And that last line of defense still exists in America.

00:34:51.620 So I was teaching a class over the weekend and I was I was talking about what's inside your bubble, what's outside of your bubble.

00:35:02.240 And it used to be framed by your house, you know, is your family rules, mom and dad.

00:35:08.120 And it wasn't it wasn't this way in everybody's house that it was good influence.

00:35:11.720 But generally speaking, the outside only came in through friends.

00:35:17.580 Even television was, you know, and radio was not what it is now.

00:35:23.520 Right.

00:35:24.420 Everything is in our house.

00:35:26.780 And I think most parents feel like I am swinging as hard as I can, but I don't even know what I'm swinging against.

00:35:35.100 And I'm having to swing against everything.

00:35:37.780 And they feel very alone and and and they don't know what to do.

00:35:43.820 So where do we even start?

00:35:46.740 So, you know, there are a lot of places you can start, but obviously school is a major one.

00:35:52.360 So for people on, you know, who are conservatives, we've been pushing for school choice for, you know, forever.

00:35:58.120 And now it's sort of taking hold and it's really catching fire in the last few years after parents really saw what was going on in the schools when the schools closed for COVID.

00:36:06.520 Hold on just a second, just a note, just a note for Texas voters.

00:36:12.040 You voted in Republicans, but they gave the school board to the Democrats, you know, for fairness.

00:36:18.360 So you're not going to have free schools here.

00:36:21.400 You're not going to be able to have school choice here.

00:36:23.840 That's Texas Republicans for you. 0.97

00:36:26.380 Anyway, go ahead.

00:36:27.260 Unacceptable.

00:36:27.980 Yeah, completely unacceptable.

00:36:29.420 Our family moved to Florida very publicly in the last year.

00:36:32.620 I'm a New York Post columnist.

00:36:33.820 So it was a news story and a lifelong New Yorker.

00:36:36.460 I love this, you know, I really love New York.

00:36:38.080 And we moved to Florida to get our kids away from the wokeness that was attacking them from every angle.

00:36:44.640 So it might involve moving.

00:36:46.240 It might even involve, you know, maybe not moving to another state, but maybe switching schools, maybe finding a new community.

00:36:51.780 And it's something that we have to act on.

00:36:54.360 I know it sounds hard and for some people, maybe impossible, but whatever you can do to get your kids out of this insanity that has gripped our culture, I think parents need to do it.

00:37:05.620 I think people that don't see the trans, you know, gendered person in the library or something like that, if it's not really super obvious, they think their kids are safe.

00:37:16.340 If parents are living in cities, they know that this is happening.

00:37:21.480 Before we left New York, I would say half, maybe three quarters of my 12-year-old friends were trans.

00:37:28.060 I mean, you know, they weren't really trans, but they would declare themselves non-binary.

00:37:32.600 They would, you know, say that they felt that they were not the right gender.

00:37:36.340 And this became a popular contagion, and it's happening in every city.

00:37:40.940 I hear this from parents all the time.

00:37:42.860 It's happening less in smaller places.

00:37:45.260 It's happening less in, you know, suburbs or rural areas.

00:37:48.680 But the contagion is coming.

00:37:50.360 I don't want anybody to feel like they're safe.

00:37:52.260 So until we can beat this back everywhere, no one should stop fighting.

00:37:57.460 Okay, so you started in the schools.

00:37:59.420 What's next?

00:38:00.240 Well, a lot of the ideas that we fund, for example, libraries that have events that we completely would not support, that we cannot accept for our kids.

00:38:13.300 I mean, Drag Queen Story Hour and various things like that.

00:38:17.160 There's no reason we should be funding it.

00:38:19.100 Take it to your local politicians.

00:38:20.640 Have them stop funding these kinds of events.

00:38:23.980 Pediatrician's office.

00:38:25.040 You know, yes, the majority of them are going to be woke, but you have to do your research and you have to talk to them.

00:38:30.240 And if they don't know what a woman is, then they're not the pediatrician for you. 0.58

00:38:34.320 So if you go into your pediatrician and you just ask them that, because if I ask them that, they know exactly what they know.

00:38:44.860 But I did say to a child psychiatrist or psychologist just recently, tell me about genders.

00:38:53.380 And she just looked at me and she said, what do you what do you want to know about genders? 1.00

00:38:58.180 And I said, are there 80 plus genders?

00:39:02.040 She said, there are two.

00:39:03.880 And I was fine.

00:39:04.920 I thought that answered it.

00:39:06.040 Is that far enough?

00:39:07.940 That's what you want to hear.

00:39:09.120 Yes, you want to hear that there are two genders. 1.00

00:39:11.160 If they're not sure about that, then they're not the doctor for you.

00:39:14.440 And again, I know this is hard.

00:39:15.900 I admit in the book that I haven't always stood up for things the way I wanted to.

00:39:21.120 One example that I give is my son switched schools in first grade and his new school had the climate march.

00:39:28.400 And he was new at the school.

00:39:30.160 And I just I wanted to pull him out of it, but I didn't.

00:39:33.520 And so my little one first grader marched around with a sign that says Earth dies, we die.

00:39:39.720 But at home, I explained to him that this this fear makes no sense.

00:39:44.640 And if you look at the, you know, the fears that they're being instilled by these environmental activists,

00:39:50.420 you can see that these activists live a very lavish and unconcerned life.

00:39:54.360 So don't worry about the earth, you know, dying.

00:39:57.080 So I didn't do what I needed to do, which was pull him out of there.

00:40:01.240 And I would never make that mistake again.

00:40:02.980 But, you know, you learn from these errors, you move forward.

00:40:06.220 And most importantly, you enforce the ideas at home.

00:40:10.540 So, Carol, I want to push you on this a little bit, because.

00:40:15.940 Yeah.

00:40:17.300 I used to think as long as you can do it at home and really instill it in home, that really does help.

00:40:26.240 But, yeah, it's it's not enough if you and your wife are the only ones really saying this, 1.00

00:40:35.380 because the rest of the culture, everything they see says mom and dad are stupid and old. 1.00

00:40:43.640 Yes, you're absolutely right. 0.99

00:40:45.580 And that's why, again, I think that you have to form community.

00:40:49.200 You have to find like minded people.

00:40:51.260 We're social creatures.

00:40:52.760 We need each other.

00:40:53.740 It's not you can't just retreat into your own family and expect everything to be OK and that your kids are not going to be influenced by the outside.

00:41:01.500 They are.

00:41:02.420 That's why, again, when half my daughter's friends decided they were trans, we didn't ignore it. 1.00

00:41:06.760 We didn't pretend it wasn't happening.

00:41:08.600 We discussed with her how it that sometimes, you know, people feel uncomfortable in their bodies as they approach puberty and how that might lead to them, you know,

00:41:17.320 getting involved in something that they don't actually believe.

00:41:20.080 So you have to be kind of also my my co-author and I, Bethany Mandel and I, we have different approaches to this.

00:41:26.620 And we discussed both approaches in the book.

00:41:28.760 Bethany homeschools her children.

00:41:30.380 I send mine to public school.

00:41:32.000 And the idea that, you know, for me, my kids are out in the world.

00:41:36.620 So when they are at home, I reinforce everything that we believe.

00:41:40.360 And she protects her kids from the outside influences as much as she can.

00:41:45.300 But obviously, as we mentioned in the book, this is coming from every direction.

00:41:48.480 It's not just schools.

00:41:50.060 So you could only do so much.

00:41:51.980 So we both have different approaches to this.

00:41:53.880 But both approaches involve reinforcing in the home what your family believes.

00:41:59.080 Carol Markowitz, Stolen Youth is the name of the book.

00:42:03.820 Can we talk a little bit about suicide?

00:42:05.820 Do you address this in the book?

00:42:06.860 We only address it in terms of how it's used to shut down the transgender debate and how there's this pretense that if we don't confirm that a girl is actually a boy or, you know, some other new identity, they'll commit suicide.

00:42:23.160 And therapists pressure parents into doing what they want them to do because they will say, if you don't reinforce your child's gender, which is not the gender they were born with, then they'll kill themselves.

00:42:37.220 And, of course, parents will do whatever it takes for that not to happen.

00:42:42.060 Yes.

00:42:42.800 We'll do everything within reason and within truth.

00:42:45.600 Do you have any thoughts on why suicide is going through the roof?

00:42:53.240 I mean, you're looking at this.

00:42:54.860 My feeling is it's just that nothing has any meaning anymore.

00:42:59.060 Nothing is real or worthy and there is no reward for merit.

00:43:05.100 Yeah.

00:43:05.660 The merit thing is huge.

00:43:07.480 I think that moving away from merit is just part of the woke system.

00:43:11.840 It says that we're all the same and we're all average and there's no difference between any of us and you shouldn't try.

00:43:18.700 The suicide thing, I think that, and I think we'll be learning about this for years, but I think the pandemic responses had so much to do with our suicide rates.

00:43:29.480 I mean, emergencies rose by, I think, 25% mental health emergencies among children 5 to 11 and even more by kids 12 to 17.

00:43:39.060 I think it's in the 30s and they just the suicide attempts during that time period between March and October of 2020 when all the kids were inside their homes, not allowed out in places like New York where that extended, you know, for months and months, even beyond that.

00:43:55.200 I think we really did damage and the idea that we could just shut down our world and everybody will be okay.

00:44:02.960 We know that that's not true and we'll be facing the repercussions of what we did.

00:44:06.600 There's a chapter in our book about COVID, even though obviously as we move past COVID and the restrictions move into the rear view mirror, the impulse is just to forget about it.

00:44:17.320 But we can't forget about it.

00:44:18.620 Something horrible was done to our children and we can't let it go.

00:44:22.620 We need to have accountability.

00:44:24.720 Talking to Carol Markowitz, she's the co-author of the book, Stolen Youth.

00:44:29.080 It's a guide for parents so you know what you're dealing with and how to fight it.

00:44:34.080 Let me take you back to the Soviet Union.

00:44:35.860 We've only got a couple of minutes.

00:44:37.220 Tell me about your grandfather.

00:44:38.300 So my great grandfather, Aaron Gelberg, died in a gulag in the Soviet Union all the way in the east by Japan and he was arrested for the crime of owning a bakery and for, you know, having a business at a time where that became illegal.

00:44:54.820 The lines just shifted out from under him and I write about all the people that were there for saying the wrong thing, not saying the right thing strongly enough.

00:45:03.880 And how that conformity is coming here.

00:45:06.500 We feel it.

00:45:07.380 We see it.

00:45:08.020 So much of the COVID response, for example, was dictated by that conformity.

00:45:11.840 You weren't allowed to speak out. 1.00

00:45:13.520 You were crazy. 1.00

00:45:14.300 You were a heretic. 1.00

00:45:15.280 You were, you know, you were somebody that couldn't be trusted if you did not say the exact same things that everybody else was saying.

00:45:21.180 So we need to be really careful about this conformity that's coming to our shores.

00:45:25.620 It began in other places.

00:45:27.340 We might not be a totalitarian system yet, but it's happening.

00:45:31.080 Yeah.

00:45:31.880 Carol, thank you so much.

00:45:33.200 Your articles in the New York Post, your columns are just fantastic.

00:45:38.300 And I wish you the best.

00:45:39.880 Thank you for fighting.

00:45:41.040 Thank you so much.

00:45:42.020 Thank you.

00:45:42.500 You bet.

00:45:42.820 Carol Markowitz, Stolen Youth is the name of the book.

00:45:51.180 We'll be right back.
