Stu and I were just talking, and it's been a good week of shows.
00:00:08.560
I know, we didn't mean to, but somehow or another we pulled off, you know, four good shows.
00:00:14.460
Now, that means one of them was kind of weak. I don't know.
00:00:22.340
I will say it is important for you to realize that, you know, just because we had a few good shows, you shouldn't raise your expectations.
00:00:31.520
Yeah, no, don't expect, like, this one to be good.
00:00:35.340
And that's important because then you'll start expecting stuff.
00:00:41.960
Like, we want you to have the lowest expectations possible.
00:00:44.600
So this one really was, well, you find out for yourself.
00:00:49.800
We've got some great stuff today, all part of the program that you're about to hear.
00:01:05.820
You have not taken Relief Factor yet, or you have?
00:01:11.380
And, Jib, what is the ailment that you have that you're living in constant pain?
00:02:14.420
You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck Program.
00:02:26.700
And good news about the jobs being added, right?
00:02:30.500
Yeah, it just shows that they have no idea how to control the things they say they know
00:02:35.420
It's almost like a centrally planned economy is not something we want.
00:02:41.620
Well, 19% are very worried about the safety of their money, and 29% are pretty worried about
00:02:57.800
And I will tell you right now, don't worry about the security of your money in the bank.
00:03:05.920
If you have more than $250,000 in the bank, in one bank, then you should worry about it.
00:03:13.660
But if you don't, you're going to get up to $250,000 back from FDIC.
00:03:20.820
Okay, now with that being said, don't worry about the security of the money in your bank.
00:03:29.740
Worry about the value of the money in your bank.
00:03:43.120
But because everybody's going to get whatever they had in new dollars, how much are those
00:03:54.040
That is the secret here of why people are not freaking out.
00:04:00.000
They're not understanding how inflation works and what we're doing.
00:04:04.500
So, the interest rates continue to go up because it's killing the value of the dollar
00:04:12.840
because the United States of America, our government, is spending us into oblivion.
00:04:31.060
That means if you had $100 in the bank, and it's the same $100 that you had in the bank
00:04:37.320
10 years ago, it's probably worth about $0.90 or $0.80 today.
00:04:44.700
It still says $100, and the FDIC will still give you $100 back.
00:04:58.500
The banking system, the banking system can be a complete route.
00:05:04.660
It's the dollar that you should be concerned about.
00:05:10.320
I mean, I might push back a little bit with a tad minor bit of concern about actually getting
00:05:19.440
I mean, I know it's insured, but I keep looking at this program and thinking to myself, they
00:05:25.180
don't have the money to insure all these banks.
00:05:33.100
They're not going to break their promise on giving you money, especially since I think
00:05:37.920
they're intentionally wanting the greenback to break.
00:05:49.000
Again, an insurance program is set up not to have every single dollar that could possibly
00:05:54.600
That's not how any insurance product works, right?
00:05:57.320
They don't have to have all the money available to pay everything.
00:06:04.260
A percentage more than they believe they'd ever need.
00:06:06.640
And if it goes higher than whatever they have in that fund, which was, what, $128 billion?
00:06:14.480
Which it already has, though they've had other ways to cover it so far.
00:06:18.220
Bigger banks stepping in, doing all those other things.
00:06:20.580
If it goes beyond that, they will pass more money for it.
00:06:31.600
The bank will charge more for the service because they have to pay more for the, quote, insurance.
00:06:36.640
I mean, you're going to wind up paying for it in some way or another.
00:06:39.060
You'll pay for it in the value of your dollar and the actual amount of dollars you have at the bank.
00:06:44.800
I have no doubt that the government will do whatever they have to do to protect these programs.
00:06:52.260
But, like, we do have a lot of political dysfunction in this country.
00:06:58.860
And it's also questionable whether it's good for the country.
00:07:01.900
I mean, at some level, you start spending all of this money and you're ruining the dollar.
00:07:06.420
No, they already have their escape hatch planned.
00:07:21.060
I guess what I'm saying is if that's not – I'm not confident.
00:07:24.860
You're like, be confident that your money will be there.
00:07:27.680
If that's how this plays out, that's not confidence.
00:07:30.820
Well, I'm trying to give you the – I mean, everything is nuanced.
00:07:44.120
I mean, you know, in – you could get Reichmarks like crazy in the Weimar Republic.
00:08:05.080
Taking your money out of the bank right now does nothing except perhaps accelerate a banking collapse.
00:08:16.520
Take it out strategically and put it in other things that might hold value.
00:08:29.200
I mean, they were already – they already were talking about we don't have enough land for wind farms.
00:08:37.300
The Secretary of Energy or one of these guys said, I think it's about time we start looking at eminent domain and just taking that land.
00:08:53.560
I mean, I don't know what's going to have value.
00:09:04.320
If you had food – this is why my Patriot Supply delivers in unmarked boxes.
00:09:10.180
In Weimar Republic, anybody who knew, anybody who had prepared, they were suddenly called hoarders.
00:09:17.600
And they were demonized in the press because they were hoarding all the food.
00:09:34.580
I think that's – it's good advice to be prepared, right?
00:09:38.320
It's irrationally stupid for the government to tell you there's nothing to worry about at all.
00:09:43.680
This is what they're trying to say with these banks.
00:09:49.660
And you should be skeptical as to whether this is going to be a major problem.
00:09:54.240
Preparing yourself for major problems is part of what you do as an adult.
00:10:04.800
Do you see the thing – we're going to talk about it later.
00:10:06.440
Do you see the thing up in New York, the Marine, that this guy was – this homeless guy, this black guy, was harassing everybody on the subway?
00:10:16.320
Now, nobody is – I mean, very few people are riding the subway now in comparison to the way it used to be because it is so dangerous, okay?
00:10:27.220
They just sit there in the car and they're like, just don't – just be invisible.
00:10:32.680
And by the way, we should mention you mentioned the race because, of course, this is becoming a racial issue.
00:10:58.940
So, a Marine comes up behind him and puts him in a chokehold.
00:11:04.600
Two other people are helping hold this guy down.
00:11:14.840
So, the Marine grabs him, puts him in a chokehold, chokes him out.
00:11:21.480
Now, they're going after the Marine saying he's a murderer.
00:11:28.360
Is the government doing things as it's collapsing around you?
00:11:42.640
And I love the fact that they're saying, maybe we should bring in, maybe we should have, you know, bring back all the mental institutions and just involuntarily, you know, admit people.
00:11:57.400
I'd like to stay away from, you know, the Arkham prison and hospital.
00:12:09.580
So, they're saying that maybe we have to scoop all these people and involuntary institutionalize them.
00:12:27.060
Those are always used by dictators in very bad ways.
00:12:31.040
And I don't care if it's a dictator on the right or the left, you don't want to give them carte blanche on just picking people up and putting them in an asylum.
00:12:41.240
So, is the government of New York, they are not taking the steps to arrest people.
00:12:55.500
A decent person just trying to get to and from work, riding the subway, is abused almost every day.
00:13:04.980
They're frightened, honestly, frightened that once those doors close and you're in a tunnel and somebody stands up and says something, nobody's going to do anything.
00:13:14.980
Everybody's just like, just please get to my station.
00:13:21.240
And then, if somebody stands up because the guy's getting really quite abusive, if you hurt him in any way, you're the criminal.
00:13:34.600
The government should be saying, any government of, for, and by the people, what part of government is the most important part in that government?
00:13:54.820
Yeah, I was going to go for one of the three, but yeah, that works.
00:13:59.500
So, any government that is protecting itself and doing everything it can to make it harder for you to protect yourself is a problem.
00:14:17.540
We all know the dollar is, well, not all of us know.
00:14:23.480
The end of the dollar, as we know it, is coming.
00:14:33.420
It was 80% of global currency that is being held as gold in the reserves all around the world.
00:14:48.240
That means a smart person, like all other countries, are hedging their bet.
00:15:05.100
Or are they trying to criminalize it so you can't get it so you have to stay in the dollar?
00:15:13.360
The violence on our streets, the crime going up.
00:15:29.680
So, is the government making it easier or harder for you to protect yourself?
00:15:36.520
They're taking away your guns and anyone who defends themselves, they're doing a George Floyd march.
00:15:48.000
You have a hostile government that no longer understands this is a country of, by, and for the people.
00:16:10.520
This is the best of the Glenn Beck program, and we really want to thank you for listening.
00:16:21.980
I try not to bring you, well, I try to bring you news where people are standing up and fighting back and winning.
00:16:30.920
This one is early, but first, this is going to just, it'll drive you out of your mind.
00:16:37.440
However, by the end, you're going to love this story.
00:16:41.500
The federal government recently told a Catholic hospital in Oklahoma to either blow out its small candle or stop serving the elderly, disabled, and low-income patients.
00:16:55.640
St. Francis Health System is the 12th largest hospital in the nation.
00:17:02.680
The health system cares for 400,000 patients a year.
00:17:05.960
It has given away more than $650 million in free medical care in the past five years alone.
00:17:17.340
St. Francis' mission is to extend the presence and healing ministry of Christ in addition to providing compassionate and top-notch care to its patients.
00:17:26.420
St. Francis lives out its religious mission by maintaining multiple chapels throughout the hospital.
00:17:37.640
If you're a Catholic, you will understand this right away.
00:17:41.380
If you are not, let me educate just a little bit.
00:17:44.960
1960, they open their doors, and they have a sanctuary candle.
00:17:49.340
If you walk into any Catholic church, there is always one either hanging from the ceiling or on a pillar somewhere near the altar,
00:17:57.280
and it is in double glass, and it is a giant candle that burns constantly.
00:18:08.500
This is something that Catholics, it is the ever-present representation of the living Christ, that he is always with us.
00:18:26.120
Well, the government has come in and decided that they have to get rid of that open flame.
00:18:34.360
They've got to get rid of that open flame because it poses a danger.
00:18:42.320
The flame is not near medical equipment and patients.
00:18:48.820
It sits on a brass basin, is affixed to the wall, has a brass top covering it, and sprinkler heads just above it.
00:18:59.700
But the federal government said, we're going to shut you down unless you put the flame out.
00:19:06.460
Well, unfortunately, there is an attorney that didn't like that too much.
00:19:15.140
And she just wrote, Secretary Becerra, and said,
00:19:19.600
In 25 days, you will cripple the operation of one of the premier hospitals in the state of Oklahoma,
00:19:26.240
simply because they keep a candle in the hospital chapel.
00:19:29.840
If you refuse to accredit St. Francis Hospital South,
00:19:33.360
it will result in such unreasonable financial losses to the St. Francis health system
00:19:38.040
that it would abruptly and immediately jeopardize its services to the elderly,
00:19:42.900
disabled, low-income patients that rely on Medicare, Medicaid, Children's Health Insurance Program,
00:19:54.180
I write in the hopes that you will see reason, or at least the law,
00:20:04.780
Her name is Lori Windham, and she is part of the Beckett.
00:20:08.900
She's vice president and senior counsel at the Beckett Law Firm.
00:20:18.920
Oh, I read your letter, and it made me all warm inside.
00:20:24.080
So this isn't about, I mean, the hospital has pilot lights.
00:20:31.100
They have flames that are all over the hospital that if you extinguish this one,
00:20:36.940
you would have to turn off all of the pilot lights, but they're not asking for that.
00:20:46.360
You know, I have been doing religious liberty work for many years now at Beckett.
00:20:53.340
I'm not easily shocked anymore, but the idea that a federal agency is going to come after your ability
00:21:00.980
to serve the poor, the elderly, and the disabled just over a sanctuary candle
00:21:06.580
when they're willing to make waivers for all these other things.
00:21:10.500
This is not how any of this is supposed to work.
00:21:13.260
So, I mean, I like your confidence that you're going to lose, and you would lose with this Supreme Court.
00:21:25.280
But how open and shut is it locally in circuit courts?
00:21:35.880
It is open and shut because we have, first, the Constitution,
00:21:39.600
which our federal agencies ought to be paying attention to.
00:21:42.820
And we also have laws in the books, like the Religious Restoration Act,
00:21:47.700
that make it clear that if the government is going to restrict your religious exercise,
00:21:54.660
This is a textbook case of not having a good reason.
00:21:58.860
But I want to tell you, this is breaking right now.
00:22:02.100
We just got a letter from CMS saying that they have seen the light.
00:22:06.560
And in fact, they are going to allow the candle to continue to glow and to light the chapel.
00:22:13.420
Now, see, this is even a happier ending than I thought we had.
00:22:26.640
That's exactly right, and that's what's so important to know.
00:22:29.900
You know, you get these letters from these federal bureaucrats,
00:22:33.280
and they think that if they just tell the religious people,
00:22:37.860
No, you're going to pay, you know, this unbelievable amount of money
00:22:41.760
if you don't give in, that people are just going to give in.
00:22:48.720
It shows the power of someone who's willing to stand up and say,
00:22:52.400
no, this is my faith, and I'm going to fight for it.
00:22:56.220
I think that, Lori, we have more religious freedom now
00:23:05.600
If you stand up now for your religious freedom,
00:23:08.480
I mean, people are putting the Ten Commandments back in front of courthouses
00:23:14.220
and in front of, you know, the city or county buildings
00:23:30.300
Go the religious liberty that you have thought you lost.
00:23:35.980
And some of this stuff needs to be challenged that you don't,
00:23:49.800
And, you know, we take some of these cases to the Supreme Court,
00:23:59.320
And so I think that right now those who are opposed to religious freedom
00:24:03.460
are going to depend on, you know, on scaring people,
00:24:10.380
And what people need to understand is the law is on their side.
00:24:19.280
no, we're not going to allow this to happen to us.
00:24:27.560
and call them extremists and possible terrorists,
00:24:34.360
and they are trying to infiltrate the Catholic Church.
00:24:38.400
There was another story, I can't remember what it was.
00:24:40.420
I read this story yesterday about another 19 Catholic churches
00:24:50.420
Is the government specifically targeting Catholics?
00:24:53.540
You know, I don't know where all of this is coming from.
00:25:03.040
And I think that it shows that when people are standing up for their faith,
00:25:07.240
others are paying attention, and some of them aren't going to like it.
00:25:10.200
You know, one thing I want to mention legally here,
00:25:12.640
and some of the protections that have actually been strengthened,
00:25:15.000
is the Supreme Court has said when people start to do this,
00:25:19.260
when people in government start to crack down on religious freedom,
00:25:21.880
and it's these really blatant violations of rights,
00:25:25.000
they can actually be personally liable for what they have done.
00:25:29.100
The courts can actually go after them individually.
00:25:31.880
And that's something important for people to understand,
00:25:37.840
If you're going to crack down, if you're going to discriminate,
00:25:40.680
if you're going to go after those who are out there living faithfully
00:25:56.140
Is this something, if somebody is having a problem anywhere,
00:27:07.300
that's an encroachment on our religious belief.
00:28:05.360
But that didn't look like an incompetent attempt
