00:00:00.000 You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:00:10.180 Let's start with impeachment this morning as the Democrats rushed to impeachment.
00:00:14.560 I thought that I thought Mitch McConnell said it best when they rushed through impeachment in the House of Representatives only to sit on it.
00:00:22.060 Now, what are they afraid of? I don't know that they're afraid of anything.
00:00:25.260 We've heard all the conspiracy theories as to why Nancy Pelosi is holding on to articles of impeachment.
00:00:30.300 But moving forward, what will the Democrats do? How will they do it if they do anything?
00:00:37.480 Let's start this morning. The majority whip, James Clyburn, is talking about articles of impeachment and how long they're willing to hold these from the Senate.
00:00:45.920 Now, this is a fairly long clip. I just want you to hear a quick a little bit of what Clyburn answered when talking about this holding on articles of impeachment.
00:00:55.060 The president had more House members vote to impeach him than any president in history.
00:01:01.260 To an extent, the outcome was predetermined. We knew it after the president was impeached.
00:01:06.940 A bit of a surprise to many people when the House speaker, Nancy Pelosi, suggested that she might wait to transmit the approved articles of impeachment to the Senate,
00:01:17.760 which could possibly delay the Senate trial.
00:01:21.840 I want you to listen to what she said last night.
00:01:23.740 Delay transmitting the articles of impeachment and also sending over the House managers.
00:01:28.060 Listen to this.
00:01:28.600 We cannot name managers until we see what the process is on the Senate side.
00:01:35.940 And I would hope that that will be soon, as we did with our legislation, our Resolution 660, to describe what the process would be.
00:01:45.340 So far, we haven't seen anything that looks fair to us.
00:01:49.420 So hopefully it will be fair.
00:01:51.300 And when we see what that is, we'll send our managers.
00:01:54.400 Why the delay, Congressman?
00:01:58.000 Well, delay is made necessary because the majority of the Senate has made it very clear that he is not going to be impartial.
00:02:08.160 He's not going to be fair.
00:02:09.280 He will collude, if you please, with the White House, at least the White House's attorneys, in order to decide how he will go forward.
00:02:20.900 So why would the Speaker of the House step into that without trying to determine exactly what the majority of the leader plans to do?
00:02:31.980 So I'll stop that there.
00:02:33.360 In fact, this is that was James Clyburn talking about how why they are doing this.
00:02:38.260 What's funny about this entire process is most of us watched and the American people watched this impeachment process.
00:02:44.160 There are a lot of things that have happened for the very first time ever, ever.
00:02:48.860 And whether it's CNN or MSNBC, when you're not going to get a well-rounded picture of what's happening, what the Democrats have done, never have we seen an impeachment hearing done inside the Intelligence Committee.
00:02:59.900 It's got to go through judiciary.
00:03:01.460 That's the way that it's done.
00:03:02.640 That's where articles of impeachment are run.
00:03:04.620 But Adam shifted in something called an informal inquiry, which meant there were no rules.
00:03:10.860 He made the rules up as he went along.
00:03:12.520 He controlled those hearings.
00:03:14.680 He did them inside the basement in what's called the SCIF.
00:03:18.240 And most of you have heard this before, that word before.
00:03:21.300 But the SCIF is a soundproof room.
00:03:24.060 There are no recording devices in these rooms.
00:03:26.540 And a SCIF is generally where top-secret documents are kept.
00:03:29.340 So a facility has a SCIF, and it's on a need-to-know basis what's in that room when there are documents held there.
00:03:39.260 So if you are, let's say you're with FBI and you're working a case and there are documents for you in the SCIF, you sign in, you leave your recording devices, your phone, and everything else outside, and you're only reading the documents pertaining to your case.
00:03:53.020 A lot of people imagine that you can walk into this room if you've got the clearance and just start reading things.
00:03:57.500 That's not the way this ever works.
00:04:00.600 But Adam Schiff decided that he was going to have hearings inside that room and exclude other members of Congress.
00:04:06.300 He kept Republicans out.
00:04:07.700 I know for a fact in my home state, one of the members of Judiciary, Congresswoman Debbie Lesko, attempted to get into the room.
00:04:14.600 They would not let her into the meetings.
00:04:16.600 Funny how there were leaks.
00:04:18.460 Now, there was no way the Republicans on that committee were leaking the information that we heard.
00:04:22.200 The information that we heard coming from those meetings came from Adam Schiff or Adam Schiff's colleagues on the Democratic side of the aisle.
00:04:28.700 But for the very first time, there were these informal inquiry.
00:04:31.920 So that's how they were able to drag that first part of it out.
00:04:35.060 Then Nancy Pelosi said we were going to have a formal inquiry.
00:04:39.020 And so then they kept it inside the Intelligence Committee and Adam Schiff ran an Intelligence Committee inquiry into impeachment.
00:04:48.260 It had no teeth.
00:04:49.500 It had absolutely no reason to exist other than to prolong and try to make the president look bad.
00:04:56.580 And it was working.
00:04:57.680 If you looked at what was happening at that time, the American people were listening to what Adam Schiff was leaking and then what was being said and saying this president should be impeached.
00:05:07.340 Let's move forward with impeachment proceedings, not necessarily throw him out of office, but there was enough meat on this bone to warrant going further.
00:05:16.900 So Adam Schiff brought witnesses in.
00:05:19.100 How many days were they in that committee of a formal inquiry before they brought in one fact witness?
00:05:24.920 As a matter of fact, the first three people they brought in, all three of those people admitted they weren't listening to that phone call.
00:05:31.780 They most of them, I think all three of them admitted they'd never even had a conversation on any level with the president of the United States.
00:05:37.960 No fact witnesses.
00:05:39.720 So abruptly, when all of this is going on, she turns it over and it goes to judiciary.
00:05:45.220 And Nancy Pelosi said of this process, we are like a jury.
00:05:49.700 We are going to look at exculpatory evidence.
00:05:51.920 We're going to come to a conclusion.
00:05:53.400 So now, knowing what you know, does anybody believe that there was exculpatory evidence that was even considered?
00:06:03.960 No Republican witness was allowed to testify.
00:06:07.060 So here's the spin from the other side.
00:06:10.060 They say, yes, there were.
00:06:11.380 There were two or three witnesses that were on the list or one witness on the list of the Republicans that testified.
00:06:16.740 That was because that witness or those witnesses were also on the Democrats' witness list.
00:06:23.440 There was no witness that was solely on a Republican witness list that ever saw the light of day as far as testimony is concerned.
00:06:30.780 The president's people were not allowed to participate.
00:06:33.200 And it had no teeth anyway because they do not issue articles of impeachment.
00:06:38.200 They don't draw them up.
00:06:39.400 They don't vote on them.
00:06:40.620 That's judiciary.
00:06:41.820 Now it goes to judiciary.
00:06:43.260 They had three lawyers testify.
00:06:46.680 They were all law professors and legal minds about the validity of impeachment.
00:06:51.340 Then they had four lawyers testify, Republican and Democrat from judiciary, Republican and Democrat from the Intelligence Committee.
00:06:59.460 So there are seven witnesses that we heard from.
00:07:04.400 None of them were fact witnesses.
00:07:06.900 None of them had any firsthand knowledge of this case at all whatsoever.
00:07:11.620 None of them.
00:07:12.400 After those seven people testified, Nancy Pelosi holds a press conference that said, we're moving forward with articles of impeachment.
00:07:19.940 I am not a lawyer.
00:07:22.860 But there are a lot of lawyers that listen to this program.
00:07:26.500 How many of you could get into a trial and send it to the jury for judgment?
00:07:31.480 Because that's what they did in judiciary when they voted on articles of impeachment.
00:07:34.660 In looking at the facts entered into testimony, if you're looking at the facts that have been testified to only, which is what you're supposed to do in a trial, how could you possibly move forward with impeachment?
00:07:47.160 There wasn't one factual thing said about anything the president did wrong.
00:07:51.620 They've moved the the the needle and the goalpost on all of this over and over again.
00:07:58.620 Quid pro quo, extortion, bribery, abuse of power.
00:08:04.960 It's always something new.
00:08:06.580 And the reason why they came to the conclusion on bribery was a focus group.
00:08:10.880 They were focus grouping different words that would resonate with voters.
00:08:15.400 Bribery worked.
00:08:16.100 That's why they switched it to bribery.
00:08:19.060 So judiciary judiciary votes on and across party lines or along party lines.
00:08:25.400 They vote to pass the articles of impeachment to the full house.
00:08:28.900 The only thing bipartisan about any of this were the no votes.
00:08:32.400 There was not one Republican that voted for it.
00:08:34.680 The standard set in 1998 by by Nancy Pelosi and by Nadler and this year and last year by both of them saying it needed to be both.
00:08:44.860 It needed to be both overwhelming evidence and it had to be bipartisan.
00:08:50.140 Neither is the case.
00:08:52.920 So now that the American people see what this is all about, they're back to saying they don't think this needs to happen.
00:08:59.600 As a matter of fact, in a few moments, we'll let you hear some of that.
00:09:02.120 Some of the voters saying.
00:09:04.500 That this is going to be bad for the Democrats, it's going to backfire.
00:09:09.000 And what are the reasons for all this in a moment?
00:09:11.100 I'm going to talk to you about what I believe are some of the main reasons why this is such an imperative for the people on the left.
00:09:17.860 We're going to get to that here in a few moments.
00:09:19.080 You'll hear from voters as well.
00:09:20.120 My name is Mike Broomhead and this is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:09:25.820 This is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:09:28.140 Hey, thanks.
00:09:28.620 This is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:09:30.060 I'm Mike Broomhead.
00:09:30.780 And so much here going on as we're talking about impeachment and the impeachment of a president of the United States.
00:09:36.660 This is an incredible time in our country.
00:09:40.040 Now, there is a story out this morning talking about the judicial appointments of President Trump.
00:09:46.880 Donald Trump has appointed now 25 percent of the circuit judges across the country.
00:09:51.900 Trump appointments now number 25 percent of the judiciary, which is driving, I believe, driving the left insane.
00:10:00.780 The prospect of Ruth Bader Ginsburg not staying on the court for another four years because of health reasons.
00:10:06.440 Now, I want to say this up front.
00:10:08.300 I have never nor will I ever wish anyone ill, including RBG.
00:10:12.820 We're just talking about how her health has been.
00:10:15.760 And can she fulfill another four years on that court?
00:10:19.700 People are saying that probably not.
00:10:22.180 Well, she is known as the liberal lioness of the court.
00:10:24.900 If Ted Kennedy was the liberal lion in the Senate while he were alive, she has been the liberal lioness and has voiced her displeasure in this president a number of times.
00:10:34.240 If she were not able to stay on the court, it will be a Trump appointee that replaces her.
00:10:39.120 So it is imperative for the left to get rid of Trump.
00:10:42.800 And if not Trump, the consolation prize would be to flip the Senate.
00:10:47.220 So we're watching this plan unravel.
00:10:49.480 And I believe I'm not a conspiracy theorist.
00:10:52.100 I don't believe in conspiracy theories.
00:10:54.400 Often there are some things that we find out later are way too shady to not be true.
00:11:00.960 We're going to get into that in a few minutes with what happened with Carter Page and the FISA investigation, because that turned out to be a nightmare for the FBI.
00:11:10.600 But in this case, the idea that they flip the Senate, if not replace Trump or both, is imperative because of Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
00:11:22.080 If the Democrats could control the Senate, they control the Judiciary Committee, which means they don't have to pass through any Trump nominee, not one.
00:11:31.300 So what they're doing now is setting up Trump is the bad guy.
00:11:34.340 They've got articles of impeachment that they know are really weak, as weak as it possibly gets over that phone call.
00:11:42.040 The more people hear of that phone call, the more they hear of what the charges are against the president, the more American voters are saying this is not something that we want.
00:11:53.640 This is not what impeachment was intended to do.
00:11:56.960 And we are watching the unraveling of them.
00:12:02.620 And I have to give Nancy Pelosi credit for politics.
00:12:07.760 And I mean this sincerely.
00:12:09.880 She is a phenomenal politician.
00:12:12.060 The reason why she's the Speaker of the House, she raises money like nobody's business.
00:12:15.840 She is a great fundraiser, but she also is a power broker.
00:12:19.460 Remember how she forced through Obamacare, making promises of fundraising and making promises of support and also promising bad things if her colleagues didn't get it passed.
00:12:30.900 But you look at what they are doing right now or how they've done this with articles of impeachment.
00:12:36.600 So this is what Nancy Pelosi's got going on.
00:12:39.300 And we're going to talk about more of this here in just a couple of moments.
00:12:41.520 Again, I'm Mike Broomhead on the Glenn Beck Program.
00:12:44.120 This is the best of the Glenn Beck Program.
00:12:49.460 Hi, it's Glenn.

00:13:08.360 Thanks.
00:13:12.660 Hey, thanks again for being here.
00:13:14.160 Merry Christmas.
00:13:14.840 Happy Hanukkah.
00:13:15.540 It's the Glenn Beck Program.
00:13:16.580 My name is Mike Broomhead in Phoenix, Arizona.
00:13:18.420 Looking at local and national economy, the American economy is going as good as it's gone in my lifetime for sure.
00:13:27.220 And if you look at statistics and who it's helping and who is gaining ground, this is working for all Americans.
00:13:33.780 This is a reason for us to celebrate.
00:13:36.620 Going back to 2016, there was a story, economists saying that a Trump win would tank the stock markets.
00:13:47.380 There was one expert economist in 2016, right after the election, before the inauguration.
00:13:52.960 And he was asked, how long will it take for us to recover from a Trump economy?
00:13:57.960 And he replied, we'll never recover.
00:14:00.660 That was the doomsday prediction.
00:14:04.520 That what he was going to do was destroy the American economy.
00:14:07.560 Well, the exact opposite has happened.
00:14:09.780 Let me just run down some statistics perspective.
00:14:12.500 I have very close friends that I mean this sincerely.
00:14:16.280 I have very close friends that are very liberal.
00:14:18.900 I have a friend that I grew up with that I love like a brother.
00:14:21.900 One of my first friends when I really I grew up in southwest Florida in a town called Fort Myers.
00:14:26.380 I moved there when I was young.
00:14:27.740 I was 11 years old and one of my first friends.
00:14:30.280 And we grew up in the same neighborhood, rode the same school bus.
00:14:33.840 We were inseparable as a group for years and years and years.
00:14:36.860 And how we breathe the same air and became so polar opposites politically, I don't know.
00:14:42.260 But we still we argue like crazy, but we love each other like brothers.
00:14:47.100 And his view of the economy being dismal.
00:14:50.940 And he's a business guy.
00:14:53.280 He's a guy that runs a business.
00:14:55.720 This is impossible for me to wrap my arms around outside of a disdain for Donald Trump.
00:15:02.560 You can have a different opinion on feelings, but the facts are still the facts.
00:15:07.920 We know that here in the month of December, the Dow Jones has added over 10,000 points since Trump was inaugurated.
00:15:16.700 10,000 points since inauguration day.
00:15:19.500 The Dow, the Nasdaq and the S&P, the three big indicators, have all touched and or set records this month.
00:15:29.600 All of that is absolutely true.
00:15:31.880 The lowest unemployment rate in 54, 55 years.
00:15:35.920 That also is true.
00:15:37.300 Highest number of Americans employed.
00:15:39.900 But when you look at the demographics.
00:15:42.780 It's the lowest black unemployment in America since they've been keeping the statistic.
00:15:47.920 Same with Hispanic unemployment.
00:15:50.740 Over 60% of the jobs created during this administration.
00:15:54.820 Notice I didn't say by this administration.
00:15:57.740 During this administration, over 60% of those jobs have gone to women.
00:16:03.260 You've got unemployment low, employment rate high.
00:16:07.700 You also have growth.
00:16:10.020 You have people's incomes growing faster now than they have in decades.
00:16:14.280 And very low inflation, which means you are not just keeping up with your way of life, with your raises.
00:16:20.580 You're actually living better.
00:16:22.820 The bottom of the economic ladder, the lowest earners in America, have seen the greatest growth.
00:16:29.820 There are two indicators.
00:16:31.060 They say it's been years and years and years since both have been a positive answer.
00:16:34.920 One is, are you better this year than you were last year?
00:16:38.260 The answer from the majority of Americans is yes.
00:16:42.000 Do you believe you will be better off next year than you are this year?
00:16:45.580 Again, the overwhelming answer from the American people is yes.
00:16:49.880 Working class Americans are earning more and keeping more of their own money.
00:16:54.820 The tax cuts helped everyone.
00:16:56.760 And this is my problem with what we're seeing in America, that instead of us being overjoyed, it's, I live in a desert.
00:17:05.300 I live in Phoenix, Arizona.
00:17:06.680 There is a time of year we call monsoon season where the rains come.
00:17:11.080 People dance in the streets when it rains here because of the long spans without rain.
00:17:17.820 When it rains, it's a joyous experience.
00:17:20.860 We should be overjoyed with the rain right now.
00:17:23.680 We had so much of an economic drought and climbing out of a recession, businesses scraping by and not thriving.
00:17:31.360 And now businesses, big and small, are thriving and individuals are thriving as well.
00:17:36.100 As a nation, we should be overjoyed.
00:17:39.200 And as a party, the Democrats should be overjoyed.
00:17:43.780 The Democrats should be thrilled with what's going on.
00:17:47.220 The working class Americans, the working poor, as they call them in America, that they claim to be the champions for, are living better now than they have in decades.
00:17:59.200 Wage increase, job growth.
00:18:01.860 You have the Democratic candidates that are still selling a bill of goods that say we need an economy that works for everyone.
00:18:09.280 What demographic is the economy not working for?
00:18:12.960 Every American that wants a job right now has a job.
00:18:16.440 And we also know wages are going up.
00:18:18.620 They can't say that they're not good jobs.
00:18:20.300 They absolutely are good jobs.
00:18:23.700 We have now shown that when the government gets out of the way, the lives of people improve.
00:18:30.520 They do it themselves.
00:18:31.780 All this president did was unleash the job creators.
00:18:36.520 And look what it's done.
00:18:39.160 I will say one thing that a mindset shift that all of us could learn from.
00:18:45.500 When you hear the Democrats talk about givebacks to corporations, I want you to change the way they think and the way you think.
00:18:55.920 A tax cut is not giving anyone anything.
00:18:58.680 A tax cut is taking less from them.
00:19:01.780 The government doesn't give you anything.
00:19:06.160 They take less from you.
00:19:08.220 A tax is them confiscating some of your earnings.
00:19:12.020 If they take less, they take less.
00:19:14.540 That's not giving you anything.
00:19:17.400 And I'll tell you, that shift in mindset would have people go a long way when looking at how this economy has improved.
00:19:24.780 Not done with this by a long shot.
00:19:26.480 There is still so much more to talk about with the economy.
00:19:28.500 Statistically proven for both local and the federal level, what this president has done with policies that has unleashed the American people and how it's going to bode for him in the next election cycle.
00:19:39.720 All of these things, impeachment, all of it intertwined in the economy is one of the key pieces of it.
00:19:44.740 We're going to get to more of this coming up here in just a moment.
00:19:46.820 And again, my name is Mike Broomhead.
00:19:48.140 I'm in Phoenix, Arizona, and this is the Glenn Beck program.
00:19:50.720 Talking about the economy and what's happening in America, there's just good news, and it's something we all should be celebrating.
00:20:00.180 Why are the Democrats being defeated?
00:20:01.740 It's because it goes against the policies of what's happening.
00:20:04.660 You realize that Barack Obama couldn't get elected right now.
00:20:07.540 There's no way that he is far enough left, if you can believe it, that he could get elected.
00:20:12.620 His border policies, Joe Biden is actually apologizing for the border policies of the Obama administration as part of his presidential run.
00:20:21.340 It's also why he's playing to 50 people in Iowa, but that's what he's having to do.
00:20:25.440 But when it comes to the economy, you're hearing the Elizabeth Warrens and the Bernie Sanders and, well, even the billionaires, the Styers and the Bloombergs, you hear them wanting to punish wealth.
00:20:38.200 When you talk about paying their fair share, we can talk about the cliches forever, but let's look at what happened to unleash the American economy, and it's working, which is why they have to say it's not working.
00:20:49.560 First of all, when the president took office, he did what he could do by executive order by rescinding a lot of regulation.
00:20:56.680 If you would ask corporations five years ago, four years ago, what is more oppressive and what is harder for you to work around, taxes or regulation?
00:21:07.080 There are a lot of corporations who have a hard time answering that question.
00:21:11.200 Compliance with big companies and even small companies is difficult.
00:21:14.260 Trying to get around the federal regulations or to deal with federal regulations is costly.
00:21:19.560 I was a contractor for many years.
00:21:21.780 I was I was an electrician and then I had my own company for a while.
00:21:24.960 And you understand that compliance or nonproductive labor eats up a lot of money in your company, even if you're small.
00:21:33.140 And I ran mine out of my house.
00:21:35.740 It is a difficult thing to do.
00:21:38.640 So you look at the compliance and the regulation that and restrictions that are put on businesses, and the president began to rescind those.
00:21:46.740 And the way he won the election is not with the Russians.
00:21:50.700 If you look at the over 200 districts that President Trump won in swing states, those 200 plus districts in swing states that had twice voted for Barack Obama voted for him.
00:22:03.360 Some by a very slim margin.
00:22:05.300 We understand that.
00:22:06.380 But the message that this president sent was to the American worker.
00:22:10.340 This was to the working class.
00:22:12.680 And I would say to you, probably many of them working class Democrats, the president said, I am going to reduce regulation and taxes on your bosses.
00:22:22.840 They are going to make more money.
00:22:24.600 But what they're going to do is reinvest in their business.
00:22:27.320 They're going to repatriate money.
00:22:29.080 They're going to repatriate jobs.
00:22:30.880 So those manufacturing jobs you've been relying on, those $25 and $30 an hour jobs are going to be secure.
00:22:39.620 You're not going to be fighting over $12 and $13 an hour jobs.
00:22:43.280 And they liked what they heard.
00:22:44.940 And they said they were going to give him a chance.
00:22:47.580 This president will go back into those swing states.
00:22:50.020 And he will say promises made, promises kept.
00:22:52.380 Because he reduced regulation where he could on his own without legislation.
00:22:55.980 And then beyond that, he was able to get the Congress to fight over a tax cut.
00:23:01.500 And the tax cut passed through.
00:23:03.700 And we watched the economy begin to soar.
00:23:06.980 Now, we talk about deficits.
00:23:08.720 And the Democrats are telling you the tax cuts are responsible.
00:23:11.900 You can just Google, search it yourself.
00:23:13.800 Don't take my word for it.
00:23:14.920 If you're someone on the left that's listening as opposition here and is looking for a way to defeat what I'm saying, go and look at the raw data.
00:23:23.960 The United States Treasury is collecting more income tax dollars from individuals and businesses now than ever in the history of America, even when adjusted for inflation.
00:23:35.740 So exactly what this president said was we are going to broaden the economy.
00:23:40.420 We're going to put people back to work.
00:23:42.340 And that will raise the dollar amount in the United States Treasury.
00:23:46.380 The reason why we're having such high deficits is we are still spending at an alarming pace.
00:23:51.080 There's no doubt that spending needs to be reined in.
00:23:53.960 And the analogy I use with my local audience in Phoenix is I use the analogy of Black Friday after Thanksgiving.
00:24:04.780 How is it that companies get in the black when they're drastically cutting their prices?
00:24:09.600 The answer is volume.
00:24:11.780 They broaden their customer base.
00:24:13.680 So instead of Walmart selling 100 TVs on Saturday, Walmart sells 1500 TVs on Saturday because they're on sale or on Friday, on Black Friday.
00:24:24.580 That's how they get in the black.
00:24:27.900 Well, with the American economy, they made us it made us more competitive.
00:24:32.200 So we look at just those two things alone.
00:24:34.660 But then you factor in this USMCA.
00:24:37.140 Do you realize?
00:24:38.300 And this is where a lot of people say, you know, Donald Trump isn't really as conservative as other presidents have been.
00:24:43.520 Donald Trump and the USMCA gave the labor unions in America exactly what they wanted in a lot of ways.
00:24:51.120 Mexico is required, according to the USMCA, to improve working conditions and safety conditions in their manufacturing plants.
00:24:58.820 And there are wage minimums for Mexican workers.
00:25:02.820 What that does is make America more competitive in the manufacturing world.
00:25:07.200 That's why they're talking about a couple of hundred thousand jobs.
00:25:10.980 The same with agriculture in America.
00:25:14.040 This is the USMCA that Nancy Pelosi had on her desk for over a year and then came out last week and said, we're doing it because it's good for the American people, not because Donald Trump.
00:25:24.880 She sat on it for over a year.
00:25:28.640 Now the news that China.
00:25:31.540 Is going to drastically reduce tariffs next year, beginning with a lot of them in January.
00:25:36.800 Which means that I am a free trade person.
00:25:39.740 I'm not someone that likes tariffs.
00:25:41.760 I was doubtful of the president and thought it was a bad idea to get into a trade war.
00:25:46.240 And it does hurt people economically when that happens.
00:25:49.500 In the long run, the way it looks, our economy is soaring even more because it is the tariffs are going to start going away.
00:25:58.040 China is starting to deal with the US realizing they need to be a part of our economy.
00:26:03.180 These are all good things that this president has done.
00:26:07.380 I'm not saying it to defend him, to get him reelected president.
00:26:11.320 I'm saying as an American, look at what's happened this time of year.
00:26:15.660 All Americans are feeling better.
00:26:17.800 I shouldn't say all Americans.
00:26:19.260 Every demographic of American is feeling better.
00:26:23.060 Why?
00:26:23.980 And how do you know?
00:26:25.460 Travel over Thanksgiving was the highest in decades or forever.
00:26:29.760 Same thing we're seeing holiday travel now.
00:26:32.300 Gift giving and spending.
00:26:33.820 You look at the spending that's happening now online and in brick-and-mortar stores.
00:26:39.340 It's setting records.
00:26:40.520 Why?
00:26:41.140 People are willing to take a risk they weren't before.
00:26:44.620 You limit yourself with the holidays for Christmas.
00:26:47.220 You talk about what's your maximum you're going to spend on gifts.
00:26:50.360 You stay within a budget.
00:26:51.980 People are taking more of a risk now.
00:26:53.840 They're willing to use a credit card because they believe their job is secure.
00:26:57.260 These are the working-class Americans.
00:26:59.560 And when inflation stays low, they have more discretionary income.
00:27:03.020 It's a huge difference for a working family.
00:27:05.740 I spent my entire life, until I got into radio 10 years ago, as an hourly wage worker or an employer of hourly wage people.
00:27:14.740 And a spike in gas prices is a tax on the working family.
00:27:19.520 How many of us out there have spent time in our lives working for a living, you know, five-gallon bucket of tools in a work truck,
00:27:26.100 where you make a decision on Thursday, do I buy lunch or bring lunch because I may need that five bucks to get gas in my car to get to work tomorrow to pick up my paycheck on Friday?
00:27:37.620 That paycheck-to-paycheck worker.
00:27:40.680 They are seeing improvements in their life.
00:27:42.920 They are seeing improvements in their quality of life financially.
00:27:46.120 And along with that, we're watching anybody else that has, I have a retirement account.
00:27:50.860 I have a 401k.
00:27:51.920 You look at the people that have investments in this country, and we've added over $11 trillion.
00:27:58.060 It's approaching $12 trillion now, I believe.
00:28:00.440 $12 trillion in wealth in the time that this president has been in office.
00:28:05.240 This is a time, especially this time of year, when Americans take inventory about how blessed we are as a nation.
00:28:14.500 This is a time when we should be overwhelmed with joy and thankfulness that we are in a time of prosperity in this country.
00:28:21.500 But instead, because of American politics, they're going to take the facts I gave you and tell you that those aren't the facts for everyone.
00:28:28.260 No, they're not the facts for everyone, but they are giving people an opportunity like they've never had before.
00:28:35.240 I have grandchildren now, and I think about them, and the oldest one in 10 years is going to be making choices about either college, workforce, or military.
00:28:48.920 Am I setting him up to be successful if he works hard?
00:28:53.500 And the other thing I will say is charitable giving.
00:28:56.280 The three things we have to offer this world, money, talent, and time, those are the three things we have to offer the world.
00:29:03.920 And you will see a spike in charitable giving from every level because even the most working class, what we would call the working poor in America, are feeling blessed by improvement, and they tend to give even more.
00:29:17.160 I say this as a form of encouragement.
00:29:21.520 If you read the news, which I do every single day because of this job, half of America seems to think that we are on the verge of economic collapse.
00:29:30.520 We have not seen these kind of great indicators in American economy, certainly in my lifetime.
00:29:35.860 This is a time where entrepreneurs are taking risks, where people are changing jobs because they're available, where you're able to go out and earn more money.
00:29:46.200 Nothing is perfect, and we're far from perfect, but we are so far improved from where we've come.
00:29:51.560 And then we get into the argument about, well, how much did Obama add to the stock market and how much?
00:29:55.840 It's such a silly, silly argument.
00:29:59.820 You want to have that argument, let's do that.
00:30:01.980 You know, the coach of the Cleveland Browns has led that team.
00:30:05.020 No offense, Cleveland, by the way, I'm using you as an example.
00:30:07.920 But the coach of the Cleveland Browns has won a lot more games this season than they've won in the two previous seasons combined.
00:30:14.420 You want him or Bill Belichick as your head coach?
00:30:19.000 There's a difference between doing better than we were and setting records.
00:30:24.640 There's a major difference.
00:30:27.620 And the policies of the left aren't working or weren't working, and we're seeing the policies of the free market and giving people more of their money and low taxes as being the fuel to an economy.
00:30:39.820 It defeats everything these presidential candidates on the left stand for, and it defeats every bit of their message.
00:30:46.320 So the only way to do it is to tell you that it's not true.
00:30:52.200 You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:30:58.720 You know, the fact of the matter is, when we look at this FISA case, every American should be concerned.
00:31:04.520 We should be able to pull Donald Trump's name out of it, which I've been saying for a very long time.
00:31:08.140 My name is Mike Broomhead. I'm in for Glenn today, and I want to thank you for being a part of the show.
00:31:13.100 Merry Christmas.
00:31:14.500 The important things that are facing this country right now, when the president said drain the swamp, this is a part of what the president said.
00:31:20.760 But if I could, and I don't know that I can do it, I wish I could, remove Trump from the equation because of the polarizing figure that Donald Trump has become.
00:31:30.000 The left has a seething hatred for him, and you understand when you hate something, you can never do anything wrong to them, and they can never do anything right.
00:31:38.140 But what happened to President Trump, what we're seeing now, what's been revealed in a report, and there's some very important things about this IG report that America must understand.
00:31:47.440 Number one, he had no arrest nor subpoena powers.
00:31:51.680 No one had to talk to him.
00:31:53.720 The only people that spoke with him were people willing to speak.
00:31:57.500 And what he found was damaging.
00:32:01.100 But when you look at what's happening or moving forward, there is a criminal investigation going on right now.
00:32:07.080 The U.S. Attorney's Office is looking at this, and they do have subpoena and arrest powers.
00:32:14.540 You are going to see very prominent figures lawyer up.
00:32:17.480 When the IG report came out, the first thing James Comey said was, this vindicates me.
00:32:24.020 Lindsey Graham asked Horowitz under testimony, is he vindicated?
00:32:29.340 To which the inspector general said, this doesn't vindicate anyone who ever touched it.
00:32:34.940 So then James Comey went on with Chris Matthews, or I'm sorry, Chris Wallace, and said, you know, he's right, and I was wrong.
00:32:44.140 He didn't take any blame.
00:32:45.480 He pleaded ignorance.
00:32:47.220 He said, I was ignorant.
00:32:48.060 I didn't know this was happening.
00:32:49.420 It shouldn't have happened.
00:32:51.120 Well, when you look at the investigation, there's a reason why James Comey and Andrew McCabe ran that investigation out of headquarters.
00:32:59.180 It was so they could dot the I's and cross the T's, correct?
00:33:03.300 They wanted to make sure that everything was done right.
00:33:06.840 Everything was done right.
00:33:09.860 And it wasn't.
00:33:11.460 This was political from the word go.
00:33:13.740 And I don't necessarily, when I say political, do I mean Republican Democrat?
00:33:18.200 I think this was self-preservation by McCabe and Comey.
00:33:22.340 They had to investigate Hillary.
00:33:24.200 They had to investigate Trump.
00:33:25.660 And they didn't want their names on a bad report when dealing with the one that would become president.
00:33:30.780 And they guessed, like everybody else guessed, that it was going to be Hillary.
00:33:34.220 Now, without going into all of the other parts of this, look at just what happened in the request for a FISA order.
00:33:42.260 They went to a FISC or a foreign intelligence surveillance court with a boatload of shoddy evidence and claimed it was all true.
00:33:50.020 As a matter of fact, during the time when the media in America was defending all of this before they had any of the proof either way.
00:33:59.100 One of the CNN anchors said they the dossier was used as evidence.
00:34:05.360 They must have verified it.
00:34:07.840 Because they wouldn't do it.
00:34:09.300 They wouldn't use it if it wasn't verified.
00:34:11.460 That's not how they operate.
00:34:13.500 That's not how they're supposed to operate.
00:34:15.940 A little insight into FBI former agents with the FBI.
00:34:21.260 There is a very strong fraternity of former agents.
00:34:26.140 They take the character and the honesty of the agency very seriously.
00:34:33.560 These are people that are very well-educated, intelligent people that could have done a lot of other things and made a lot more money.
00:34:40.520 But they dedicated their career, well, since 9-11 in counterterrorism and keeping America safe.
00:34:46.800 And doing so within the confines of the Constitution, they take that very seriously.
00:34:51.860 The reputation of FBI matters to former agents of the FBI.
00:34:58.080 And when you see former agents with a seething anger toward what James Comey did for political purposes, they can't stand it.
00:35:07.620 Start at the beginning of the fact that they ran it out of headquarters and not out of a field office.
00:35:11.980 James Comey is not an investigator.
00:35:13.980 James Comey is a bureaucrat.
00:35:15.440 He had no business touching an investigation, number one.
00:35:19.080 First and foremost, without a doubt, that never happens, nor should it happen, and this is why.
00:35:26.000 But when you look at what they did to Carter Page, they took a document known as the dossier that was riddled with lies.
00:35:34.560 The dossier was written by a man named Christopher Steele.
00:35:37.580 Christopher Steele was a British agent and a Russia expert.
00:35:42.300 He was hired to go to the Russians to get dirt on Donald Trump.
00:35:48.820 He wrote things in that dossier that were so untrue.
00:35:53.640 But it's opposition research.
00:35:56.280 So when Hillary Clinton's campaign says sources say this and sources say that Donald Trump was doing horrible things with prostitutes in a hotel in Moscow.
00:36:04.640 Well, the president's lawyer comes out and hands over his passport and says he wasn't even in Moscow when they say this happened.
00:36:12.800 That's a political fight.
00:36:14.400 When you use that dossier as evidence to surveil an American, you are swearing to a judge that this is stuff you've proven.
00:36:21.400 They didn't vet this dossier, not one word of it, not one word.
00:36:28.720 So if you have neighbors, if one of your neighbors said of you to the police, I think my neighbor is a drug dealer.
00:36:39.120 I've been writing down the fact that there are kind of the strange cars show up at the house and they don't stay very long and they stay come at all hours of the night.
00:36:48.140 And I'm pretty sure that they're dealing drugs.
00:36:50.520 Here is a list of the cars I've seen in their driveway in the past 48 hours.
00:36:54.480 So a police officer takes that information from you and goes to a judge and swears to a judge that this is the comings and goings that they've seen.
00:37:03.760 And there's a reason now to surveil you either electronically or to search warrant for your house.
00:37:10.280 That would be the most absurd thing you could imagine.
00:37:14.640 But what they've done is exactly that.
00:37:17.180 Those police officers take your information, they vet those license plates, they do their own surveillance, they do their own homework, and they go with evidence to a judge to get a search warrant if it's warranted.
00:37:28.020 They don't take someone else's word for it.
00:37:30.740 And that's exactly what happened in this FISA case.
00:37:34.460 Hey, it's Glenn.
00:37:35.400 And I want to tell you about something that you should either end your day with or start your morning with.
00:37:41.380 And that is the news and why it matters.
00:37:44.020 If you like this show, you're going to love the news and why it matters.
00:37:47.740 It's a bunch of us that all get together at the end of the day and just talk about the stories that matter to you and your life.
