00:02:19.140 welcome to the glenbeck program
00:02:25.740 along with my executive producer the honorable
00:02:31.960 steve bergeer who for some reason changed his name early on to stew welcome thank you glenn i
00:02:40.100 appreciate that uh terrible telling of that story thank you appreciate it uh we also have in studio
00:02:45.140 somebody that uh you know you've probably never seen before um uh ezra is with us she is our uh
00:02:52.600 social media
00:02:53.440 manager yeah yeah what no seriously what's your real social media coordinator coordinator okay so
00:03:00.740 she coordinates our social media uh which apparently she told me today quote this has never been said
00:03:07.680 before you're big on tiktok
00:03:10.500 meaning like like you look fat on tiktok yeah i look fat everywhere right you know that's what i thought
00:03:17.340 not just tiktok instagram all of them yeah yeah so um you're streaming today on instagram and tiktok
00:03:24.580 correct the behind the scenes uh which is
00:03:27.200 it's riveting it's riveting it's crazy and it will fill that void left by colonel sanders and captain
00:03:38.500 kangaroo uh really so yeah will it you'll will it though yeah i'm pretty sure it does i'm pretty i'm
00:03:46.120 pretty colonel sanders produced a lot of good for the country now chicken ezra you told me a minute ago
00:03:51.940 that uh there's just a lot of mean-spirited things that are being said uh in the live
00:03:57.680 uh in the live comments yes who would have known they're not very nice not very nice on the socials
00:04:03.760 is it is it mainly fat or what is it or is it more nazi yeah what are they accusing them of today
00:04:10.360 yeah um you are you're a nazi i'm a fat nazi you're a fat nazi and how dare you you know support
00:04:16.220 republicans okay all right well that's good now is that on tiktok or is that on instagram that was on
00:04:21.300 instagram that was on instagram tiktok must love me if that's instagram yeah they just love me okay
00:04:26.960 you can follow it at uh at uh the instagram page for or tiktok page i don't i have no idea i have no
00:04:34.380 idea just uh dial pound 150 and i think that'll i'm not anyway uh all right uh let me just dial down
00:04:45.520 the middle yeah you know just do that you'll get there just keep trying these new complex things
00:04:52.420 yeah i mean i thought it was exciting when we had a phone in the car um california has a moral
00:04:59.960 obligation now according to governor newsom who is going to clean up in the 2024 election i mean
00:05:09.680 right i mean he is one with the american people he has said that they have a moral obligation
00:05:17.020 to ban diesel powered trucks to rectify which i think is a great word because it makes me think
00:05:25.620 of rectal which makes me think of an ass which makes me think of gavin newsom anyway ban diesel trucks
00:05:32.700 to rectify what global warming what do you think i would think global warming yeah right no decades of
00:05:40.340 racist practices okay okay so they are going to ban uh medium and heavy duty trucks uh and they all
00:05:51.440 have to be fully electric by 2035 now here's the good news those 17 states that just signed on with
00:05:59.960 all of california's emission standards and everything else bet you're gonna have to do it too you didn't
00:06:05.320 know about that in your state yeah you're now a slave to california who did that your governor and
00:06:12.660 your legislators so bye-bye electric cars in virgin i mean gasoline cars in virginia bye-bye diesel trucks
00:06:22.340 in virginia and other states i mean minnesota just stay in your house i mean really you get what like
00:06:29.840 a week maybe where it's nice stay in your house well that's why they built bridges enclosed bridges
00:06:37.000 all over minneapolis so you never have to walk outside tell you something about it that's true
00:06:41.440 yeah i never what the first time i went there i was like they just built they just turned this
00:06:45.020 entire city into a mall they did just walking from hotel to hotel yeah um now is it true that only
00:06:51.280 white people can buy diesel is that accurate well yes in well most parts of texas but i don't know
00:06:56.960 about california no here's the deal stew decades i'm quoting decades of racist and classist practices
00:07:05.260 including redlining and sitting decisions have concentrated heavy-duty vehicle and freight
00:07:13.620 activities in communities of color freight activities it's fascinating and it's not just color
00:07:23.600 it's low income communities now i don't know why they didn't build our airports and our bus stations
00:07:37.580 and our freight yards right in the middle of really nice suburbs i don't know i don't know wait a minute
00:07:46.620 it could be because if they did that everybody who lived in those really nice suburbs would move
00:07:54.240 away and then they would have to cut the high the price of the housing and so those would become low
00:08:00.620 income neighborhoods i mean how racist are you you don't want to live next to the freeway
00:08:07.200 my gosh what's next oh i can't sleep at night because of the roar of the jet engines
00:08:13.880 my gosh you rich people make me sick oh i can't live by the bus station no no wow racists
00:08:26.640 this guy's gonna be this guy's gonna be good for the country you know who else would be good
00:08:31.280 if utah would just elect ellen mcmuffin uh running against uh running against mike lee
00:08:39.400 ellen mcmuffin is really really good he was a cia agent uh i don't know if you know and i think
00:08:47.800 what the country needs right now to repair trust is a cia agent in the senate you know um he uh he's he's
00:08:57.560 running a lot of ads running a lot of ads now uh trying to monetize uh you know his campaign get
00:09:05.620 somebody to somebody besides george soros and others like him uh to you know kick in on the
00:09:11.420 ellen mcmuffin train and see if they can get him elected so he's he is doing some really good ads
00:09:18.060 reminding everybody hey i was a spook and i think that's really good i think that's right in line with
00:09:25.680 what americans want right now is another spook running around uh we wait a minute hang on just a
00:09:33.780 second right now a spokesperson for the ellen mcmuffin campaign is joining us now hello glad
00:09:42.160 how are you i'm i'm very good how are you uh first of all fantastic and i just wanted to thank you for
00:09:47.660 your incredible consistent support for for evan and his campaign against extremist mike lee i know you've
00:09:55.800 been you just of course said that there would be nothing better than to have a cia spook yeah in the
00:10:01.880 senate oh yeah and uh i just wanted to thank you for your sure sure your support sure sure so um do
00:10:08.880 i mean have you thought thought this through that maybe you know at a time when are you okay
00:10:16.060 what are you really fat or i'm a fat man so i can ask that question uh no i'm in the excellent
00:10:23.440 physical condition okay all right um anyway i was just wondering have you thought this through i mean
00:10:30.040 the nsa the cia yeah all that they're i mean they're spying on americans oh yeah it's really
00:10:37.180 corrupt right now i know you're right it's great you know we have been trying to highlight that part of
00:10:42.240 uh evan mcmuffin's campaign that he was in the cia because of course it's something that we really
00:10:48.260 need right now uh we need more spying on american citizens we of course have a platform that's
00:10:55.940 very well defined and you know as a person who was in the cia imagine all the spying he could do if
00:11:03.360 he was written the senate uh it would be much he would spy three four or five times as much and
00:11:08.220 that's what i think really american people really uh won and that's why i think the voters of utah
00:11:14.260 won and i think the voters of utah should understand what's at stake here this is very important election
00:11:18.620 most poor election ever in history and stuff and it's important for the people of utah to know
00:11:28.080 that we are watching we're watching what they do we're watching how they vote we're going to make
00:11:34.580 sure that that they understand what's at stake here the globe is warming what do you hang on just a
00:11:41.080 second um what do you mean that you're you're you're watching them and uh you you're gonna well
00:11:47.220 uh i'm just saying you know that people should should watch what they do that's all what do
00:11:53.860 you mean they should watch what they do i mean that all right every every action has a consequence i
00:11:59.860 think you learn that when you're a child right and and if you know if you were to not vote for evan
00:12:07.680 mcmullin you know we we would we would know about that you know about and and and there are consequences
00:12:15.380 to to our actions see this is the kind of thing that i would think that people would kind of go
00:12:21.000 wait a minute i don't think i want a cia guy you know in the senate well he'll he won't know if you
00:12:27.860 didn't vote for him that's all we're saying is he like santa claus or does he have connections
00:12:32.840 well again when you when santa claus knows uh if you've been good or bad he knows when you're
00:12:42.180 sleeping he knows when you're awake right he also has half the information about you than evan mcdonald
00:12:47.180 does so just think about okay look if you're a utah voter you want to vote for mike lee you could do
00:12:53.080 that well that means people could also vote for against saddam hussein right you know who knows
00:12:59.300 see this goes again uh ellen mcmuffin has been saying that mike lee is in so many words an
00:13:06.660 extremist he is an extremist glenn he is an extremist yeah we've been looking into his activity
00:13:11.340 you and wow this guy's extreme want to go out some examples of that yeah i would um you ever hear of
00:13:17.040 a potato what you ever hear of a potato of a potato yes you know what mike lee does with them
00:13:22.340 no he cuts them up into into little sticks and he fries them in boiling oil and then he applies
00:13:32.560 it's called it's got it he applies a rock of some sort and small white crystals and then dips them
00:13:40.400 in tomatoes and vinegar okay so so about chocolate so does mike lee eat it he does it he eats it and
00:13:49.100 drinks it he drinks hot chocolate glenn it's extreme okay and by the way before i go i just
00:13:58.740 wanted to thank you for your constant and continual support of evan mcmuffin your your endorsement here
00:14:06.280 in utah has meant so much yeah i i haven't endorsed him and i just wanted to say well you haven't
00:14:12.320 endorsed him that's true but you have helped our campaign quite a bit because you keep calling him
00:14:17.300 ellen mcmuffin and we've done a lot of research on on evan mcmullen and we realized really nobody likes
00:14:25.640 him that's one of the central things we've learned in our research really um but the best testing part
00:14:33.240 of our entire campaign is that his name sounds like mcmuffin that's the only thing we can find
00:14:40.940 that's positive people like that's mcmuffins well and they like ellen right so you're calling him
00:14:46.060 ellen mcmuffin you are helping our campaign okay all right thank you very thank you very much
00:14:52.740 you're listening to the best of the glenn beck program
00:14:59.620 so stacy abrams says there's no such thing as a fetal heartbeat at six weeks
00:15:25.220 that's weird because i know there's a fetal heartbeat on the on the uh sixth week the seventh
00:15:35.120 week uh the eighth ninth tenth eleventh twelve all the way still heartbeat even now i still have a
00:15:43.500 heartbeat it's weird it's not fetal but i still have a heartbeat so no such thing as a fetal heartbeat
00:15:49.380 in six weeks not true says she now she says that this is a manufactured sound
00:15:59.800 if you haven't heard a fetal heartbeat here is a fetal heartbeat from
00:16:06.180 okay what is that sound what is that sound fetal heartbeat no no that is that is the sound you
00:16:19.200 here at a cheap motel something's going on in the room up above listen to it again tell me i'm wrong
00:16:26.480 tell me i'm wrong
00:16:27.680 that's what it is that's what it is and we put them into this magic box okay we just we go and we tape
00:16:39.700 from seedy motels we tape the goings-on in other rooms we put it in this magic box and then just
00:16:48.460 because we're trying to get rid of the hand sanitizer that uh that uh new york had that's
00:16:53.720 all expired now that they bought with taxpayer money we take that sanitizer that's what it is
00:16:59.480 they say it's a gel but you just wipe that all over a woman's belly and then you take the magic stick
00:17:06.300 and on that magic stick when you position it right you hit a little switch
00:17:11.420 and it makes the magic box play what you recorded at the motel
00:17:16.680 that's science for you that's stacy abrams branded science really yeah it's mania i'm quoting it do we
00:17:25.520 have do we have her actually saying this in audio here here she is
00:17:28.560 wow wow uh you know i thought it was a big deal that she thought she was the governor
00:17:50.140 um you know when she wasn't the governor and then she had this uh amazing turnaround where she said
00:17:57.700 she never said that i thought that was kind of amazing this is for people who follow the science
00:18:04.040 now i don't know if you follow the science but for people who follow the science i'm pretty sure
00:18:10.120 that's not a manufactured sound i'm pretty sure what that is is a heartbeat now i'm only saying that
00:18:21.460 because that's what science tells us uh and the evil magic box i don't know if i trust it well the
00:18:31.020 the evil magic box was designed by men you know men who wanted to take i mean what was the quote
00:18:37.420 that men have the it was a sound design to convince people that men have the right to take control of a
00:18:44.840 woman's body amen what a weird see like what what a strange view of the world can i just tell you
00:18:53.200 as a man as a man uh and you know let's say a dirtbag man the the the the worst side of me as a man
00:19:04.580 if i'm if i'm getting women pregnant i have no desire to settle down yeah can i drive you there
00:19:14.020 how can i pay for that abortion okay guys would be all in for that that is much better than having a
00:19:24.020 child with a woman you were just sleeping with and you don't really want to have a relationship and
00:19:29.700 then that kid comes knocking on your door going daddy men would rather have you have an abortion
00:19:38.840 that's what makes sense to me how i'm trying to understand i'm trying to understand you think men
00:19:49.760 if they designed the machine would make it sound like nothing because they want to be able to get
00:19:53.300 out of whatever weird night they had last night i could be a cancerous growth i could be a cancer
00:19:59.660 growth i may be a tumor i may be a tumor that's what it would say this is of course why so many
00:20:07.920 on the left oppose the policy of having ultrasounds before the abortions yes because they know they'll
00:20:13.620 hear the heartbeat they will see uh if if there's a you know the the scan to see they can see the
00:20:19.400 movement they can see the baby formed when people are and it's 80 percent the mother is 80 percent
00:20:27.680 more likely to have the baby than kill the baby if she hears the heartbeat they know this
00:20:37.160 so that's why she's not discrediting men she's not just say i mean she's absolutely wrong about
00:20:47.720 men we we did that so you would have children don't think so um so she's wrong about that but what
00:20:57.540 is she doing she's discrediting the machine i mean in such a a neophyte way it's almost like
00:21:09.080 well i was at this airport and i just had to tell them look at how heavy that thing is
00:21:15.940 that's not going to be able to fly they're putting you into a hypnosis trap trance and they're saying
00:21:23.860 they're flying you someplace you're not actually going anywhere they're putting a mind trick in
00:21:30.280 so you think you went to your cleveland office i mean this really is we never went to the moon level
00:21:35.200 it is it is right you can see you can see it on the video you can see the heart beating you can hear
00:21:43.060 it this is what is going on it's you know it's a manufactured sound if you want to defend abortion
00:21:51.060 go ahead and defend it defend what you're actually doing stop denying what what is reality that's all
00:21:57.120 you have to do if this is such a great defensible policy then just come out and defend it but they
00:22:02.800 never can you notice even after the dobbs thing they're not talking about abortion they're talking
00:22:06.060 about well what if you have an ectopic pregnancy what if a woman has a miscarriage you can't get it
00:22:11.600 removed like first of all that none of this it has anything to do with the laws passed on abortion
00:22:16.340 but secondarily you notice how they can't go to the actual thing they say was so important i know
00:22:20.700 they keep defending these other things that aren't true and are much are a much totally you know
00:22:26.200 different process uh as we've been talking about but like if they really believe this was so
00:22:32.320 defensible they might occasionally defend it that's why they were successful for a long time
00:22:38.540 because they said look you don't want somebody else making decisions for the woman and for
00:22:46.820 the people involved that's let the doctor and the woman figure this out and we pray or we hope
00:22:55.180 that it is rare but it has to be safe and legal that's how they got you into the boat
00:23:03.580 because that's how most people feel most people are not for abortion at the very end they're not
00:23:12.600 but if if most people feel okay i don't know exactly when life begins i mean i think i do because the egg
00:23:24.180 is alive and the sperm is alive so it is life when they join but you can argue about this back and forth
00:23:33.140 most people feel like hey once it's you know kind of identifiably as a baby then we should kill it
00:23:41.300 and they they would say i i hope that it doesn't happen but in cases of incest or rape or something
00:23:49.940 like that then you know go ahead but it should be rare but it should also be safe and legal
00:24:00.100 that was winning celebrate your abortions i've had 1800 abortions and i loved everyone i think it
00:24:11.220 was my well it was my 300th that's when i'll always remember that was so great that i celebrated at the
00:24:18.160 time i mean that's where they lose everybody and because they've celebrated their abortion and are
00:24:27.120 losing regular people you can't put that genie back in the bottle what do they have to do they now
00:24:33.980 have to take the insane step of discrediting medical machines and technology this is after
00:24:43.880 two years by the way of them claiming the biggest scandal in the world was people saying the voting
00:24:49.000 machines were hacked after they had previously said that voting machines were hacked in previous
00:24:53.120 elections they lost uh do a search real quick on twitter social media is stacy abrams does she have
00:25:01.980 a warning that this is miss or disinformation because this is important medical information right this is
00:25:10.820 important medical information she's saying that ultrasounds are not real that the sound of the baby
00:25:19.960 is not real it's really what she's doing here this is what she's saying and this is a relatively
00:25:25.720 recent thing from the left where they started calling it a flicker instead of a heartbeat remember
00:25:29.580 that whole thing the new york times just called it a flicker in a random article and we're like wait
00:25:33.540 what a flicker it's been a heartbeat we've known it's a heartbeat it's one of the the most amazing
00:25:38.780 moments of early pregnancy right you're there maybe your spouse is with you you hear the heartbeat for
00:25:45.880 the first time it's an overwhelming emotional experience it is or it's created by men to control
00:25:51.520 women or it's just a a a mechanical sound of some sort now this is this is honestly gang think this
00:26:01.020 through because this is where life gets very scary this is where you go to authoritarian rule and you can
00:26:07.920 kill millions of people because you're truly now discrediting things that everyone knows is true
00:26:19.160 okay so if you disagree with it you can say that is an evil magic box that has made up sounds in it to
00:26:28.400 convince people if they will buy that you're at the salem witch trials you're at the salem witch trials
00:26:37.900 well if she doesn't float she wasn't a witch that's what you're looking at right now
00:26:45.960 and what's frightening is she can say this with a straight face and no one discredits her from her
00:26:56.460 own side no one is saying today you know i was for stacy abrams and then i heard that and that's just
00:27:02.260 evil magic box stuff that's witchcraft what are you talking about what are you talking about i can't
00:27:07.860 support her and this this is a this a woman who is delusional and has dangerous thinking you know
00:27:14.680 we can't put her into a role of any kind of authority if she thinks this she really believes
00:27:21.100 this and if not she's just she doesn't care about lying nobody's saying that nobody's saying that on
00:27:27.340 the left not a soul you don't think that they can convince those people that you are a terrorist
00:27:38.920 because of the way you vote of course they can they're so emboldened right now she thinks she can
00:27:48.360 get away with saying this and people in the audience don't laugh at her or stand up in that
00:27:55.180 public setting and go come on everyone on the panel nods and not vigorous agreement their heads
00:28:01.380 you don't think they can convince half the country that you should be eliminated liquidated put into a
00:28:10.640 camp whatever authoritarians love to do i got a news for you i'd be saying the same exact thing
00:28:18.800 if people on the right were doing this we are headed towards dangerous dangerous times
00:28:27.080 we better wake up and stand together because this is a frightening it's hilarious but because people
00:28:37.440 are taking it seriously it is a terrifying statement the best of the glenbeck program
00:28:47.920 welcome to the glenbeck program uh i want to play something from yesterday that joe biden
00:29:07.420 said uh about taxes a global tax listen to this cut four
00:29:13.400 with partners in the americas africa europe and the middle east and the indo-pacific
00:29:22.220 we're working to build a new economic ecosystem well where every nation every nation gets a fair shot
00:29:29.740 and economic growth is resilient sustainable and shared that's why the united states is championed
00:29:36.860 global minimum tax and we will work stop you know what that means that means trapping every
00:29:45.380 business where they are no one can move and get a better deal someplace else that's what that means
00:29:53.100 um also the bankers all met uh with the uh house yesterday and um the um the oversight committee
00:30:06.320 for uh finance and banking regulations they uh they had uh one guy who i just i can't get enough of
00:30:15.440 um uh they had uh what what's his name from a jamie diamond from jp morgan chase and he said something
00:30:24.880 incredible he said no no we don't we're we're we're don't have any policies that we would stop funding
00:30:34.060 oil and gas really because esg kind of sounds like one congressman uh bar is with us now he's the
00:30:43.900 congressman andy bar from uh kentucky he was there did you ask jamie diamond to explain esg to you
00:30:52.000 hey glenn uh good to be on your program thank you yes uh we we wanted to make sure that we
00:31:00.000 talk to all of these leaders in finance about uh their policies and whether or not they were going
00:31:06.860 to cave into the the woke thinking on wall street and be bullied by the biden financial regulators
00:31:14.980 and politicize the allocation of capital or whether they were going to defend free enterprise
00:31:21.660 and the free flow of capital as it as it is supposed to be efficiently allocated based on supply and
00:31:28.480 demand for your listeners who don't know esg uh stands for environmental and social governance
00:31:35.700 which is a a trendy uh way in which the progressive left have weaponized uh the banking system
00:31:44.520 uh to discriminate against uh companies and causes that they don't like that are unfashionable
00:31:51.380 such as the fossil energy industry or the firearms manufacturing sector or or trans uh you know parents
00:32:00.960 you know that are speaking out against trans issues or you know that you're coca-cola you got to learn
00:32:07.220 to be not so white all of that stuff that's that's the s in esg exactly and this is a form of discriminatory
00:32:17.080 lending uh banks should uh be making lending decisions based on objective risk-based metrics not
00:32:25.340 the standards of woke corporate cancel culture and the biden administration has weaponized financial
00:32:32.220 regulators to steer investors into uh these esg funds uh and uh what the american people need to know is
00:32:41.920 that they may be unwittingly financing the agenda of the far left and the result for retail investors
00:32:49.220 glenn is that they are now invested in higher fee less diversified and lower return investments
00:32:58.320 uh and only 21 percent finra which is the self-regulatory organization for stockbrokers
00:33:04.620 in concert with the university of chicago they did a study a survey of retail investors in america
00:33:10.560 and only 21 percent of mom and pop investors saving for college saving for retirement counting on
00:33:17.980 financial performance in their 401k or their ira only 21 percent of americans even know what esg is
00:33:25.960 so there's a real disconnect between the institutional investors that the state pension funds the black
00:33:31.960 rocks and the vanguards the asset managers and wall street and some of these big banks and retail
00:33:37.320 investors but retail investors are actually the owners of the capital and many of these um progressives
00:33:45.360 on wall street have um have misallocated their capital in ways that that diminish returns
00:33:51.860 uh and advance uh political agendas ahead of uh financial returns so wasn't jamie diamond
00:33:58.560 lying when he said no we don't have any policies that would discriminate or or uh defund um
00:34:06.700 oil and and gas they are fully signed on to esg programs he even went as far in saying it would be an
00:34:15.820 absolute what did he say disaster or american nightmare if we stopped oil and gas well not all
00:34:23.860 of these banks or asset managers are are created equal to be fair some of them have more aggressive esg
00:34:30.460 policies than others i will say that um at least in the case of mr diamond uh that he wrote in a letter
00:34:39.440 to shareholders and i highlighted this in my questioning of him that we need a marshall plan for
00:34:44.960 u.s energy dominance to help ourselves and our allies to decrease our dependence on on russia for
00:34:52.160 example or foreign sources of energy and so he at least and his institution jp morgan chase they uh
00:34:59.240 admit that they will continue and they committed to continuing to finance oil natural gas i focused on
00:35:05.100 coal kentucky's a coal state 22 percent of america's electricity generation still comes from coal we're
00:35:11.280 going to need coal in the future just like we're going to need other fossil energy sources uh natural
00:35:16.560 gas and oil and he did commit at least to me that uh his institution would continue to finance fossil
00:35:24.740 energy and and we need to we we don't need to be bullied by climate alarmists non-investor stakeholders
00:35:30.720 or biden financial regulators to choke off financing or investment into american energy companies and and
00:35:37.880 yet that is what the esg movement is that they are uh they are um trying to implement their green new
00:35:44.080 deal their their their radical climate alarmism agenda through financial regulation and through
00:35:50.280 the financial system and this is uh absolutely compromising american energy dominance american energy
00:35:56.560 independence uh and we've we've literally gone glenn from a position of american energy dominance to
00:36:02.740 uh energy uh energy desperate in just two years under the the these biden policies in concert with
00:36:09.300 woke wall street we're about to do the same thing to farming yeah yeah exactly and so my argument is we
00:36:18.500 need more not less financing i mean we we talk about uh the biden war on energy uh you know canceling the
00:36:24.640 keystone xl pipeline canceling infrastructure projects holding up 4 400 drilling permits frustrating
00:36:30.500 uh the construction of new refineries all of that's true but ground zero in the biden war against
00:36:37.120 american energy and american energy independence and affordable reliable energy is the weaponization
00:36:43.100 of financial regulation because let's face it this is a capital intensive industry uh and uh investors
00:36:51.540 just will not allocate capital into this capital intensive industry unless they know that there's some
00:36:56.460 uncertainty with the regulation so um uh some of the other ceos i will say are not as uh are not as
00:37:05.880 open to financing energy and so we made it we made a big point about keeping politics out of the business of
00:37:14.360 banking be a bank don't don't be a don't be a political party okay so um we're talking to uh congressman
00:37:20.820 andy bar from kentucky he is on the house financial services uh committee and also member of the house
00:37:26.600 foreign affairs committee um let me uh let me ask you did you get to visa and mastercard and american express
00:37:36.840 with the with the new gun uh registration yes so one of my one of my colleagues uh congressman
00:37:46.900 williams from texas uh did press the uh the the bankers the bank ceos on this issue of course
00:37:53.580 uh this was uh this is a new merchant code for your listeners and and for those of us who believe the
00:38:00.700 second amendment is fundamental uh that they have created the banks didn't do this but the credit card
00:38:07.080 companies created a new merchant code for firearms and um and some banks have participated in pushing for
00:38:16.360 this and that the danger of this of course is that it allows for um woke banks who pursue this esg
00:38:24.700 agenda to discriminate against americans who are exercising uh their lawful second amendment rights
00:38:31.240 it is it is the concern is it is a way in which banks can um stop the financing of americans simply
00:38:39.900 exercising their rights um the bankers uh yesterday when asked about this question from congressman
00:38:46.940 williams they said look this was not our decision we just follow the rules but the truth is but the
00:38:52.220 truth is this is a of deep concern because it's another way in which the financial system is weaponized
00:39:00.600 to discriminate against americans who are simply exercising their rights but it was amalgamated bank
00:39:05.860 that was pushing for the change uh of the rules they were the ones who brought esg to america in the
00:39:12.720 first place strangely a union bank um and they're the ones who were pushing for this and and got it
00:39:20.080 changed so are they saying now we're held to some international banking standard and we can't do
00:39:25.340 anything about it yeah they are and i joined with several of my colleagues in writing a letter to that
00:39:31.320 bank and uh objecting to their uh their pushing of this to again politicize capital allocation
00:39:38.680 and politics should not be in banking it should be about uh you know objective factors is the borrower
00:39:46.840 credit worthy yeah uh is it based on sound underwriting does this borrower have the ability to repay
00:39:53.660 regardless of what what they're doing and so in addition to fighting esg we've also been
00:39:59.300 promoting uh fair access to banking you know long ago there was um discrimination in banking and
00:40:07.340 read what they call redlining where um um african americans were denied access to credit for racist
00:40:14.380 reasons this was a horrible practice well today the discriminatory lending is against conservatives
00:40:21.160 it's uh banks in concert with liberals in government who use the weaponize the banking system to
00:40:27.960 discriminate against um those who are exercising their second amendment rights or the fossil energy
00:40:33.600 industry or as you say you know parents who just want visibility into uh their schools and and so we
00:40:41.000 cannot allow this to happen uh we want to depoliticize finance and this is going to be a major major focus
00:40:47.560 of republicans on the financial services committee when we take the gavels back when we retire nancy
00:40:52.800 pelosi and take back the majority you're you're going to be the the the committee chairperson most
00:40:58.460 likely are you not well i'm in the leadership of the committee and patrick mckenry is our ranking
00:41:03.960 member now okay so he will be the chairman of the full committee and he is on board with uh our our focus
00:41:10.980 on this um and and many of my other colleagues are are really focused on this congressman huizinga who
00:41:16.700 will chair the capital market subcommittee french hill from arkansas brian style from wisconsin
00:41:21.760 and and and we are going to shine a a bright light on this and make sure that investors know
00:41:29.300 that that uh some of these uh some of these uh leaders in finance are not doing right by them
00:41:36.420 as investors the the the job of of a fiduciary an investment advisor the job of the investment advisor
00:41:43.800 is to maximize returns for the investor it is not to pursue a political agenda at the expense
00:41:51.740 yes the investor and that's what we're seeing uh with this political agenda infecting uh the
00:41:58.480 financial markets even some of them are even saying a friend of mine went and talked about esg was asked
00:42:03.840 about esg uh at this uh you know investment seminar thing and the guy said look i mean it's going to
00:42:09.900 cost money uh you're going to probably lose money in the investment first 10 years but it's going to
00:42:14.660 really take off and he's like you're talking to a group of people that most of us have gray hair
00:42:21.280 we're here we're you know 10 years away or five years away from retirement age and you're talking
00:42:28.020 to us about selling to us something that you say is most likely not going to be the best return for
00:42:35.320 the next 10 years and i had to ask you about that that's kind of a problem um a big problem and and
00:42:42.440 consider this also glenn uh the most of these esg funds carry uh much higher fees so the reason why
00:42:52.160 blackrock and some of these other asset managers are are promoting this is because uh they say it
00:42:58.020 takes their skill to put together these environmentally friendly funds and so they charge on average 43%
00:43:05.400 higher than non-esg funds and not only not only that uh they violate the basic test of of investing
00:43:12.180 investing 101 which is diversification they're heavy on tech and they're light on energy and if
00:43:17.720 you you see what happened in the markets in the equity markets over the last eight nine months
00:43:22.320 a huge tech sell-off and energy prices went up so if you were invested in energy you did better
00:43:27.860 well many investors who are unwittingly invested in esg they their losses were much more severe
00:43:34.560 because there was this huge tech sell-off and they didn't have any energy stocks in their portfolio
00:43:39.400 andy i am up against the network break and i've really got to run but can you give me yes or no
00:43:43.420 question are you up to speed on the digital currency and what's going on with all of that
00:43:48.600 yeah the government i'd love to have you back next week to talk about you know digital currency if you
00:43:54.800 if you can i'd love to talk to you about the dangers the dangers of a central bank digital
00:44:00.540 currency and why we need to promote private sector innovation not have the government uh run
00:44:05.500 digital currency thank you so much that's congressman andy barr from kentucky you can follow
00:44:09.420 him at barr b-a-r-r.house.gov
