00:00:25.240 Visit flyporter.com and actually enjoy economy.

00:00:30.000 Really good show for you today.

00:00:31.660 We talk about the border again and some of the things that are going on.

00:00:36.460 Also, Toby Keith died and so did Bob Beckwith.

00:00:40.780 You know who Bob Beckwith is, if you remember 9-11, but you don't recognize the name.

00:00:46.820 We'll point that out.

00:00:48.220 Also, we had J.D. Vance on talking about the Senate and the different things going on and the incredible administrative state that is building a cage around us.

00:00:59.300 What the Democrats accuse the right of doing, they themselves are doing, and we show it to you on today's podcast.

00:01:06.720 Brought to you by Preborn.

00:01:08.940 One of these days, maybe in our lifetimes, it's going to be possible to see the abolition of abortion.

00:01:14.320 History books of the future will write about the generational trauma, the breakdown of families, the destruction of basic morality, and how one day it came to an end.

00:01:22.780 But we are still there.

00:01:24.000 And in fact, the abortions have gone up because they're being made easier.

00:01:28.880 On this podcast today, you'll hear there have been two or three studies that show that the abortion pill is really damaging.

00:01:38.880 And gosh, they've just been recalled.

00:01:41.900 I mean, they've been published.

00:01:42.920 They've been examined.

00:01:45.720 But somebody wrote in and said, those aren't true.

00:01:49.340 And so they've pulled them.

00:01:50.800 Surprise, surprise, just a couple of weeks before a court case debating all of that.

00:01:55.420 Anyway, the Ministry of Preborn stands every day for the helpless among us.

00:02:00.400 And that's not just the babies.

00:02:02.040 That's also sometimes the moms. 1.00

00:02:04.020 They don't feel like they have anybody standing by them.

00:02:06.600 They don't have any money to get through.

00:02:09.160 And they don't have any faith that they'll make it.

00:02:12.900 Well, that's where the Ministry of Preborn stands in.

00:02:15.560 First, they give mom an ultrasound.

00:02:17.440 So she sees the baby's face and the body and hears the heartbeat.

00:02:22.020 That doubles the chance that the baby is going to be saved.

00:02:25.300 Then, if she doesn't have anybody, they'll tell her and they'll back it up.

00:02:30.380 For the next two years, you're not going to worry about it.

00:02:32.660 We're going to get you all the postnatal checkups.

00:02:35.780 We're going to help you with baby clothes and even books and toys and everything.

00:02:40.800 So you are safe and the baby is safe.

00:02:46.120 Preborn.

00:02:47.500 Preborn.

00:02:48.260 It is so worth your time and will bring the, I think, bring the grace of God upon us.

00:02:55.720 We need to be people of merit and be seen doing things of merit in the eyes of God.

00:03:01.700 And this is one of the best things we can do.

00:03:03.480 For $28, you can get an ultrasound, but you can give more if you want.

00:03:08.260 Pound 250, say the keyword baby.

00:03:10.320 It's pound 250, keyword baby.

00:03:12.060 Or go to preborn.com slash Glenn.

00:03:13.980 That's preborn.com slash Glenn.

00:03:15.780 You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.

00:03:32.000 It was a Tuesday morning.

00:03:35.120 Stu was at his house.

00:03:37.560 I was at my house.

00:03:38.820 We were both working at WFLA in Tampa, Florida.

00:03:43.040 It was the first year I had done talk radio.

00:03:47.260 I had just signed a deal to replace Dr. Laura on the premier radio network.

00:03:55.740 And it was supposed to start in January.

00:03:59.160 And we were really doing a comedy show.

00:04:01.740 We were making fun of everything. 0.66

00:04:03.540 And I was pretty much a boob at the time.

00:04:08.320 I didn't know where I stood on many things.

00:04:13.760 Because I was just doing comedy.

00:04:16.000 I was making fun of talk radio.

00:04:17.820 I was making fun of people like me, honestly.

00:04:19.480 And then my wife called me from work.

00:04:25.180 And she said, turn on the TV.

00:04:27.700 A plane has just hit the World Trade Center.

00:04:30.240 I said, what?

00:04:31.480 She said, yeah.

00:04:32.580 Turn on.

00:04:32.960 And Katie Corrick was on.

00:04:35.740 And it was the Today Show.

00:04:37.820 And they were talking about how it must be a small plane.

00:04:40.440 And I looked at that hole in that plane.

00:04:42.000 And I thought, that's not a small plane.

00:04:46.120 And I'm talking to my wife.

00:04:47.380 And the whole waiting goes off.

00:04:49.480 And Stu is on the other end.

00:04:51.400 He said, are you watching this?

00:04:52.400 I said, yeah.

00:04:52.760 I don't think this is a small plane.

00:04:53.980 He said, I don't think so either.

00:04:55.260 And just then, the second plane went in.

00:04:59.620 I said, we got to go.

00:05:00.560 We got to go to work.

00:05:01.500 I told my wife.

00:05:02.420 I said, honey, it's probably going to be a very long day.

00:05:05.040 I got to go.

00:05:08.200 As we were driving in, the World Trade Center collapsed.

00:05:15.920 When I got to the studio, I looked up at the monitors.

00:05:18.300 And I saw something I never thought was even possible.

00:05:26.220 It just pulverized.

00:05:29.580 It was dust.

00:05:31.380 And the people jumping out of the World Trade Center.

00:05:37.160 And America just shocked our innocence.

00:05:41.600 Who would do something like this?

00:05:43.800 We didn't know.

00:05:46.800 I had said just two years before that there would be blood, body, and buildings in the streets of Manhattan.

00:05:53.240 I was on WABC in New York.

00:05:55.040 And I said it would have the name of Osama bin Laden on it.

00:06:00.120 And I had completely forgotten that.

00:06:02.140 And we didn't have any answers.

00:06:08.740 And Premier calls me up and said, we need you to go national.

00:06:11.780 And I went home and I prayed and prayed and prayed and prayed and I said, you have the wrong guy.

00:06:16.620 I don't know what I'm doing.

00:06:17.800 I don't have an answer for this.

00:06:19.580 I have no idea.

00:06:20.840 And on my first national program, I think I said that.

00:06:28.180 I don't have any idea of what is really going on.

00:06:32.900 But if you'll stick with me, we'll find the answers together.

00:06:38.040 It was just a few days after the World Trade Center.

00:06:42.280 And I'm telling this story because there's a lot of people that are under 30 that probably have not heard this story or have been watched it or been taught the truth about what happened on that day.

00:06:56.080 Osama bin Laden had been waiting ever since Reagan pulled his troops out after the Marine bombing of the barracks in Beirut.

00:07:08.940 He saw that as a sign of weakness and he told his people at the time, oh my gosh, we can make the giant move.

00:07:17.620 And they had waited and plotted and 9-11 was the day.

00:07:23.380 They were trying to take out our stock market.

00:07:25.400 They were trying to collapse us economically.

00:07:29.880 They knew if we collapsed economically in our banking system, we would be over.

00:07:35.380 We've done a pretty good job at that since.

00:07:37.940 Everything that he wanted to accomplish, we've been accomplishing ourselves.

00:07:45.340 But I talked to Bob Beckworth.

00:07:47.860 He died yesterday.

00:07:49.080 Bob was the firefighter that happened to be on the fire truck when somebody came up, stood next to him.

00:07:57.820 He had no idea it was the President of the United States.

00:08:00.920 Here's what he told me just a few years ago.

00:08:02.940 The picture seared in the nation's memory.

00:08:09.940 President Bush at ground zero three days after the attacks.

00:08:14.920 A bullhorn in one hand, the other draped around firefighter Bob Beckwith.

00:08:18.520 That firefighter with President Bush was Bob Beckwith.

00:08:21.420 Bob Beckwith stood shoulder to shoulder with President Bush.

00:08:24.320 Bob Beckwith, a firefighter from Queens, New York in his mid-60s.

00:08:28.600 That day, he stood alongside the President and stepped onto the national patriotic stage.

00:08:37.760 Bob, are you there?

00:08:40.260 Yes.

00:08:41.100 Hi, Bob. How are you?

00:08:42.620 Very good. And yourself?

00:08:43.760 I'm very good, sir.

00:08:45.320 Very good.

00:08:46.060 I just wanted to touch base with you, your experiences with 9-11.

00:08:52.540 Because I painted a painting of you a couple of weeks ago for an auction.

00:08:58.860 And as I was painting you, I thought, you know, I know this man's story, but not really.

00:09:05.960 First of all, where were you on 9-11 when it happened?

00:09:09.660 When it happened, my daughter had called me that my grandson, going to school on his bicycle, was hit by a car about two blocks away from me.

00:09:22.440 And I ran over there to see what was happening, and I saw him on the ground, but he was moving, so that was a plus.

00:09:31.500 And I found out from the ambulance driver what hospital they were taking him to.

00:09:38.100 And I came home to get my car.

00:09:40.660 I listened on the radio, and I heard a guy say...

00:09:44.060 A plane has crashed into the World Trade Center.

00:09:47.040 We don't know anything about it.

00:09:48.020 And so I came inside, and my wife had it on the television already, and they had cameras there.

00:09:54.540 I was looking, and I said, that's a little bit bigger than a small plane.

00:09:58.240 Yeah.

00:09:58.420 I figured I got a bad day going.

00:10:01.140 My grandson gets hit by a car, and now a plane goes in.

00:10:04.960 Where were you living at the time, Bob?

00:10:06.660 I was living right here in Baldwin, New York.

00:10:09.500 When did the phone call come in that you had to go?

00:10:12.960 Were you with your grandson in the hospital, or when did you...

00:10:18.160 I went to the hospital to be with him.

00:10:21.340 Everybody was watching television at the hospital.

00:10:23.620 And I saw the South Tower come down.

00:10:27.780 Oh, my God.

00:10:29.760 One World Trade Center has collapsed in its entirety.

00:10:32.940 One World Trade Center is gone.

00:10:35.120 And then a few minutes later, the North Tower came down.

00:10:40.380 The North Tower just collapsed.

00:10:41.980 We need to collapse.

00:10:42.860 We need to collapse.

00:10:43.000 And I knew that there was guys in the building, you know, because the firemen were in there.

00:10:47.480 You know what goes through your head when you just hit you pretty hard.

00:10:51.860 I told my wife and my kids that I'm going down to Ground Zero.

00:10:55.660 And they said, don't go down.

00:10:57.040 You're too old.

00:10:57.460 I was 69 years old.

00:11:00.120 And they thought I was an old man there, and I'm going to get in the way.

00:11:04.440 So just don't go down there.

00:11:06.320 And the next day, I find out that Jimmy Boyle...

00:11:10.700 Now, Jimmy Boyle was the president of the UFA, the Uniformed Firefighters Association.

00:11:16.620 And I was one of his delegates.

00:11:18.940 And when I found out his son is missing, I said, that's it.

00:11:21.780 I'm out of here.

00:11:22.980 And I suited up the next morning, and I got to go down to Ground Zero.

00:11:27.220 So you're there.

00:11:28.300 You snuck across the bridge on the island.

00:11:31.600 Then you sneak across the barrier with National Guard.

00:11:37.140 Right.

00:11:37.500 And then what happens?

00:11:39.000 And then I came into Ground Zero, and I tell you, it was a shark.

00:11:43.440 You can see the people running as these buildings begin to grow.

00:11:46.020 As you were running, racing for their lives.

00:11:48.260 One of the buildings is partially collapsed.

00:11:51.420 Mains that has yet unidentified survivors will be found in underground.

00:11:55.400 The first thing that came to my mind was, this is how it probably looked in the Blitz.

00:12:00.920 Yeah.

00:12:01.640 Wow.

00:12:02.480 You know what happened?

00:12:03.720 I worked down there all that day.

00:12:06.780 And I was on the Bucket Brigade, and I found a shovel, and I started digging with the guys.

00:12:12.240 And we found a pumper.

00:12:15.360 A pumper is a fire engine in the rubble.

00:12:18.640 And we told the crane operator to put the rig out in the street, which he did.

00:12:25.660 Some guy comes over, and he says, the president is here.

00:12:31.120 And I saw the guys put their shovel down, and I put mine down, and I walked out to the street.

00:12:36.820 And there's that pumper we just dug out of the rubble.

00:12:39.620 So I jumped up on it, and right across the street was a command post, a tent with all microphones in front of it.

00:12:48.460 I figured, oh, that's where the president's going to talk.

00:12:51.780 This Secret Service man came over to me, and he said, is this safe?

00:12:56.500 I said, yeah.

00:12:57.720 And he said, well, jump up and down on it for me.

00:12:59.900 So I jumped up and down on it for him.

00:13:01.940 And he said, okay.

00:13:03.500 He said, somebody important's coming over here.

00:13:07.180 And when they come here, you help them up, and then you get down.

00:13:10.920 I said, okay.

00:13:11.940 Because you do what the Secret Service guy tells you to do.

00:13:15.540 The president comes around, and he does a hard right, and he comes right in front of me, and he puts his arm up.

00:13:21.620 So I pull him up, and I turn him around, and I said to him, are you okay, Mr. President?

00:13:26.920 He said, yeah.

00:13:28.600 And I start to get down.

00:13:29.960 He said, where are you going?

00:13:31.160 I said, I was told to get down.

00:13:32.700 He said, no, no, you stay right here.

00:13:34.020 And he put his arm around me, and that's my story.

00:13:37.860 That's unbelievable.

00:13:40.480 It is.

00:13:40.920 It really is.

00:13:42.000 I didn't know any of those things.

00:13:44.620 What did the president say to you at one point?

00:13:47.820 Do you even remember when he turned to you in the middle of the speech, and he said some things to you?

00:13:52.720 Do you remember?

00:13:53.660 No.

00:13:54.220 We couldn't hear.

00:13:55.200 We couldn't hear each other.

00:13:56.680 We did speak to each other, but we didn't hear each other.

00:13:59.740 It was too loud.

00:14:01.440 The guys, they were yelling.

00:14:03.740 I didn't remember him having that megaphone, that bullhorn.

00:14:07.640 Really?

00:14:08.280 And then he started to speak, and he's speaking to the right.

00:14:11.080 And the guys on the left, they're yelling, we can't hear you.

00:14:16.420 And then he turned to the left with the bullhorn, and he said, I can hear you.

00:14:22.340 And the whole world hears you.

00:14:24.680 And the people who knocked these buildings down.

00:14:28.140 Will hear all of us soon. 0.69

00:14:29.620 They went crazy. 0.93

00:14:32.240 They went nuts. 0.65

00:14:33.920 They started chanting, USA, USA, USA.

00:14:38.840 And it was, he said everything in those three sentences.

00:14:43.260 Those days changed America.

00:14:47.400 Those who were born shortly before or after don't remember an America the way I remember it.

00:14:55.960 It was a completely different place after 9-11.

00:15:00.800 There's one more part of the story.

00:15:02.180 We lost Bob Beckwith this week, the voice you just heard.

00:15:07.380 So that part of history has now been lost to the ages and to digital memories.

00:15:17.240 This is the best of the Glenn Beck program.

00:15:21.820 The good senator, dare I say great senator, from the state of Ohio, J.D. Vance.

00:15:27.780 Hello, J.D.

00:15:29.100 Hey, Glenn.

00:15:29.660 How are you?

00:15:30.480 I'm good.

00:15:31.060 Uh, so, uh, I want to talk to you about the, uh, Senate border bill here in just a second.

00:15:35.680 But, uh, do you have any comment on this shocking, shocking news that's just breaking

00:15:40.700 that Donald Trump is responsible for everything he did in, uh, while he was in the White House

00:15:46.520 and can go to trial?

00:15:48.940 So I first heard about this like three minutes ago when I was waiting to come on your show.

00:15:53.200 Right.

00:15:53.780 I haven't read the, I haven't read the ruling.

00:15:55.520 I have nothing, uh, particular to say about it other than, look, I, I, I agree with Trump

00:15:59.820 that the president has pretty broad, um, pretty broad immunity from a large number of prosecutions

00:16:05.560 for what he does while he's in office.

00:16:07.500 You know, you can't go after the president for doing his constitutional duties in the same

00:16:11.240 way that most police officers are immune, you know, from most prosecutions for doing

00:16:15.380 their job.

00:16:16.600 Uh, I haven't seen this case, but I'm not shocked that the D.C.

00:16:19.380 Circuit ruled against the president.

00:16:20.500 As we know, a lot of these things have become political.

00:16:22.960 And I hate to say it, Glenn, I think we have to be honest with ourselves as conservatives

00:16:25.880 that much of what is framed as legal in this country is now just politics.

00:16:30.840 And we have to wake up to that reality and deal with it.

00:16:33.700 Yeah.

00:16:34.460 Um, next hour, I'm going to go through some of the stuff that's going on with the legal

00:16:38.260 system and, uh, conservatives are in real trouble.

00:16:41.200 They're blocking, uh, uh, attorneys, uh, by threatening to sue them and destroy their

00:16:48.060 lives and take away their license.

00:16:49.720 If they, if they start to represent any client that disagrees with this administration, this

00:16:54.360 is, I mean, I personally think when they say, you know, Donald Trump will be a dictator.

00:16:59.360 Okay.

00:16:59.820 Well, what's the difference?

00:17:00.920 Cause this is what we have now.

00:17:02.560 We, we are so close to really a dictatorship, uh, closer than I've ever seen this country.

00:17:11.140 Yeah, I agree.

00:17:11.940 And we also have parents, of course, having their parental rights taken away for not consenting

00:17:15.840 their kids, gender identity.

00:17:17.980 Uh, my first exposure to this, by the way, Glenn was, I was advising this company Parler,

00:17:23.320 which was sort of an original free speech alternative to Twitter after January the 6th,

00:17:28.380 Google, Apple, Amazon, just in a very coordinated way came against this company.

00:17:33.340 It was very obviously a violation of antitrust laws.

00:17:36.420 Nobody, no major law firm would represent that company because they would have their lives

00:17:40.660 ruined.

00:17:40.980 And that's when I sort of realized that what we're witnessing is complete institutional capture

00:17:45.600 by the left.

00:17:46.480 And I think, you know, this is one of the reasons why my politics are what they are.

00:17:50.440 I've been trying to encourage my fellow conservatives to wake up to this new reality that we're living

00:17:54.900 in, because if this is what we're dealing with, then it's not a question of, well, you

00:17:59.200 come into office and you, you fight over tax rates and you fight over regulatory reform.

00:18:03.660 We have to really recapture many of these institutions.

00:18:06.280 That should be the goal of conservative politics in the 21st century.

00:18:09.760 And again, I encourage my fellow conservatives to wake up to that reality.

00:18:13.220 I'd like to see somebody put together a conservative law firm with the best lawyers in the country

00:18:20.240 that are willing to stand together and fight this together.

00:18:23.520 And I think at least my audience, and I think most audiences on the right would consider coming

00:18:29.080 up with a legal defense fund because, you know, anybody who serves with Trump, it's going

00:18:32.820 to need one because they're going to go after him all the time, constantly.

00:18:36.480 All right.

00:18:36.720 Let me talk about the border.

00:18:38.820 The Senate border deal is not a border deal.

00:18:42.060 As I look at it, A, it's a war package and tied to it is a really bad immigration policy. 0.53

00:18:52.560 It has nothing really to do with the border or solving that.

00:18:56.280 Would you agree or disagree?

00:18:58.040 Look, I agree with that, Glenn.

00:18:59.420 Again, we have to be honest that what happened here is the neoconservative establishment of

00:19:05.700 the Democrats really want $61 billion for Ukraine, and they have been working very hard to figure

00:19:10.420 out how to package that to the American people.

00:19:13.000 Now, what we came up with in the Republican Senate, and you know, I'm the biggest Ukraine

00:19:16.680 skeptic probably in the United States Senate, is like, look, guys, even if you're pro-Ukraine,

00:19:21.860 you've got to secure the border before you do anything on Ukraine or our voters are going

00:19:25.820 to go absolutely crazy and rightfully so.

00:19:27.880 So this fig leaf is what we came up with.

00:19:30.620 And I got to be honest with you, Glenn, it is worse in the execution than I feared that

00:19:34.360 it would be.

00:19:35.240 There's a couple of provisions here that I think is very important for us to be honest

00:19:39.200 about how bad they are.

00:19:40.900 OK, so the first is it takes away the right to grant asylum from immigration judges who

00:19:46.220 are not perfect and gives them to USCIS asylum officers who are basically the most left

00:19:51.860 wing officials within the immigration bureaucracy.

00:19:54.100 So you basically are giving Mayorkas and his stooges control over who gets asylum in this 0.91

00:20:00.060 country.

00:20:00.840 Very big mistake.

00:20:02.280 Second very.

00:20:02.780 Hang on just a second.

00:20:03.500 Hang on just a second.

00:20:04.220 Isn't this akin to what Congress did years ago by giving all of the power to make the

00:20:13.080 decisions and make the laws inside the administration so nobody gets blamed for it and they just go

00:20:18.960 their own way and you can't hold them responsible.

00:20:20.680 This is the same thing, isn't it?

00:20:22.700 Just giving the administration more power and leeway to do whatever they want.

00:20:27.360 That's right.

00:20:27.920 With maybe the most important issue facing the country, of course, which is immigration, 1.00

00:20:31.620 not just now, but for all time.

00:20:33.440 It's who do you allow to become a citizen in your country?

00:20:36.040 It's like the fundamental question of national sovereignty.

00:20:39.260 And it gives it over to a guy who, by the way, Glenn, the House is impeaching maybe today.

00:20:43.800 And we're talking about giving this guy massive authority.

00:20:46.200 The second big issue here, Glenn, is it has this sort of border emergency shutdown, which

00:20:51.820 actually sounds good, right?

00:20:53.340 If you were going to say, you know, as soon as you get an illegal alien coming across, you

00:20:57.380 shut down the border, you radically change enforcement.

00:21:00.120 But this sets the emergency authority at 5,000 illegal immigrants a day, which is close to

00:21:06.280 2 million a year.

00:21:07.300 And again, Glenn, it gives Mayorkas broad discretion to waive this emergency authority.

00:21:12.520 So this is not a good package.

00:21:14.320 We should vote it down.

00:21:16.240 I actually, good news, when we had a meeting as a Senate conference yesterday evening, and

00:21:21.620 I think everybody pretty much agrees that we cannot proceed on this thing right now.

00:21:26.600 We just need to continue to hold everyone's feet to the fire so that this package doesn't

00:21:30.480 become law.

00:21:31.660 And again, we have to remember, this is all about hiding from the American people the 0.90

00:21:35.960 ball on Ukraine.

00:21:37.340 They don't want to be called to account for a vote on Ukraine.

00:21:39.820 So they're going to call it border security.

00:21:41.980 That's not what it's about.

00:21:42.800 We are paying, correct me if I'm wrong, the salaries of everyone in their civil service.

00:21:50.840 So the entire government is now being subsidized by the United States taxpayer.

00:21:58.320 Are we not paying everybody's compensation here in America and over in Ukraine?

00:22:06.520 I don't know if it's everybody in Ukraine, Glenn, to be clear, but it's a lot of them.

00:22:11.140 We're certainly paying for core parts of their civil service.

00:22:14.420 And we know this, that they're paying for their social security, I believe.

00:22:18.840 We're paying for their pensioners. 0.96

00:22:20.100 We're paying for a lot of their civil service.

00:22:21.600 It's absolutely right.

00:22:22.780 And we also know that there's a lot of skimming off the top.

00:22:25.080 There's a lot of corruption.

00:22:26.000 It's a corrupt country.

00:22:26.980 We've known that for well before this war started.

00:22:29.440 But here's the issue, Glenn.

00:22:31.340 We are told that this war is all about repelling Russia so that Ukraine can be an independent

00:22:37.860 bulwark.

00:22:38.760 What is actually happening is that we've strengthened Russia and Ukraine has become a welfare client 0.67

00:22:45.140 of the United States, not just now, but in perpetuity.

00:22:48.140 So we have failed at the fundamental objective.

00:22:50.560 We've spent well over $100 billion to accomplish that failed objective, and there's no end in

00:22:56.000 sight.

00:22:56.700 It's time for the statesmen in this country to step up and say, enough is enough.

00:23:01.080 This has to stop.

00:23:02.120 As Donald Trump said, maybe the most important thing he said on the campaign trail is, we

00:23:06.340 need the killing to stop.

00:23:08.280 That's what's in America's interest, and that's what I'm fighting for.

00:23:12.860 Senator Schumer came out and said, if we don't vote for this, well, American soldiers, our

00:23:19.380 American boys and girls are going to be over on the front lines fighting Russia in the

00:23:24.940 next five years if we don't pass this.

00:23:28.520 It's fear-mongering, Glenn, and it's not true.

00:23:30.860 And by the way, if the argument goes something like this, the Russians are going to roll through 0.74

00:23:35.780 Ukraine, and then they'll roll into Berlin, and that's the point at which American troops

00:23:40.780 will be called to fight the Russians.

00:23:42.580 Well, here's the problem with that.

00:23:44.680 Germany has, I think, the fourth or fifth largest economy in the world.

00:23:48.000 They spend way less than 2% of GDP, which is the NATO target on defense.

00:23:53.220 If the Germans are at that much risk of the Russians, we need to say to the Germans, get 1.00

00:23:58.820 your own house in order, stand up your own security forces, don't rely on the Americans 0.99

00:24:03.460 to bail you out.

00:24:04.900 It actually calls into question, Glenn, and I'm going to get roasted for saying this,

00:24:08.760 but good, because it's a conversation we need to have.

00:24:11.400 What is the purpose of NATO if the only thing it does is provide more people for us to support?

00:24:17.100 NATO is supposed to be an alliance.

00:24:20.120 The Germans step up.

00:24:21.580 Everybody steps up.

00:24:22.520 The only two countries, or at least the only two major countries with big economies that

00:24:27.480 do their job on defense are France and the UK.

00:24:30.660 Western and Central Europe have got to step up in a bigger way, Glenn, and we should not 0.99

00:24:37.140 be asked to effectively subsidize their security apparatus.

00:24:41.700 That's not an argument for an ally.

00:24:43.440 That's an argument for another welfare client, and the United States has far too many of

00:24:47.020 them.

00:24:48.540 So let me switch subjects.

00:24:50.500 We talked about the lawyers and how they are being blocked, if you're on the conservative

00:24:57.240 side.

00:24:58.440 Yesterday, the House Judiciary Committee on the weaponization of the government highlighted the

00:25:05.820 Biden administration's efforts to, quote, address propaganda and misinformation in books that

00:25:13.740 were being sold.

00:25:15.460 And Jim Jordan yesterday outlined an effort to stop Amazon from selling certain books that

00:25:25.660 disagreed with the administration.

00:25:28.060 I mean, you want to talk about book burning.

00:25:32.020 Do you know anything about this?

00:25:33.920 And when is when is someone going to stop this?

00:25:40.620 Well, credit to Jim Jordan and the House Judiciary for actually using their subpoena powers meant

00:25:47.560 to be used in investigating here.

00:25:49.000 But, look, Glenn, this is akin to what we saw with the big tech companies colluding with

00:25:53.140 the government to silence the Trump campaign, to promote the Biden campaign.

00:25:57.640 This is what I talk about, institutional capture, Glenn.

00:26:00.600 We have bureaucrats in the government working with some of these companies to engage in a mass 0.72

00:26:06.660 censorship campaign in this country.

00:26:08.740 And it's largely hidden, of course, because it's shadow banning on social media.

00:26:13.280 It's the books you don't see when you type in a search on Amazon.

00:26:16.960 That's what's so evil genius about it, is that we don't even see it.

00:26:21.700 But this is how totalitarian regimes operate, is that they can control what you think and

00:26:26.720 what media can you consume.

00:26:28.520 Then they control what you behave.

00:26:30.240 And that's when you're no longer a free citizen.

00:26:32.560 Look, I think that this is illegal stuff.

00:26:34.640 Potentially, people should be going to prison for it. 0.80

00:26:37.100 And this is the best argument, maybe, that I can make for a future, you know, Attorney

00:26:42.900 General Josh Hawley or someone else, is you've got to go after these guys and actually force

00:26:49.060 them to suffer consequences.

00:26:50.220 It's the only language these people understand is power.

00:26:54.120 And if you're going to use your constitutional authority to shade into unconstitutional censorship,

00:27:00.380 you've got to face consequences for it.

00:27:01.800 At the very least, you ought to lose your job.

00:27:03.120 You know, you are, you're very effective as a senator, and I would hate to lose you as

00:27:08.880 a senator, but Ohio is a very important state.

00:27:13.440 Has there been any talk about consideration of you being a vice presidential candidate?

00:27:20.280 I've seen the media stories, Glenn, and as I've said, of course, if the president asked

00:27:24.220 me, I'd think about it.

00:27:25.660 I do think it's extremely important that we reelect Donald Trump.

00:27:29.080 But I like being a senator.

00:27:30.160 I think that's the best way for me to serve the people of Ohio.

00:27:34.000 And that's, that's, that's my honest answer is, yeah, I'd think about it, but I really

00:27:37.280 like my current job.

00:27:38.340 And to your point, Glenn, we actually need people at all levels of the federal government

00:27:42.480 if we're going to implement an effective agenda.

00:27:44.660 The president is, of course, the most important, you know, things like immigration, foreign policy,

00:27:49.380 he controls almost unilaterally.

00:27:51.680 But you need good lawmakers.

00:27:53.700 And that was one of the problems with the first Trump administration, way too many Republicans

00:27:58.060 fighting against the leader of their own party.

00:28:00.860 If we want to work effectively, we can't have that.

00:28:04.200 Are we going to see a close of the border?

00:28:07.100 I mean, a meaningful, meaningful securing of the border before the election?

00:28:10.800 I hate to say it, probably no, unless Republicans grow a lot stiffer of a spine here, Glenn.

00:28:18.700 Here's the leverage that we have.

00:28:20.780 It's two things.

00:28:21.780 It's Ukraine and it's government funding.

00:28:24.240 We would be, we would need to be willing as a unified Republican conference, House and

00:28:29.260 Senate to say, we're not funding any more of your government until you get illegal border

00:28:34.260 crossings below, you know, at least a thousand per day, right?

00:28:37.100 This is a significant reduction of where it is.

00:28:39.920 I don't see that, that resolve within my fellow Republicans.

00:28:43.220 I think that there are some of us who would do that.

00:28:45.380 I certainly would, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

00:28:48.860 And I hate to say it, Glenn, but I'm just being honest with you.

00:28:51.120 Yeah.

00:28:52.020 All right.

00:28:52.980 Thank you for loving country more than self.

00:28:55.660 I appreciate it.

00:28:56.520 J.D. Vance.

00:28:57.900 God bless.

00:28:58.300 Thank you, Glenn.

00:29:01.020 The best of the Glenn Beck program.

00:29:07.100 In today's Glenn Beck Morning Newsletter, which is free at glennbeck.com, you will find

00:29:13.000 these stories.

00:29:13.740 I'm going to touch on these, just the headlines first, and we're going to go back to them.

00:29:16.880 Jim Jordan shows Amazon files federal censorship efforts to digitally burn books.

00:29:28.480 Effective GOP attorney generals face politicized ethics charges.

00:29:34.580 Democrats trying to strip all opponents of representation in court.

00:29:40.540 Biden's DOJ continues to abuse the FACE Act.

00:29:45.580 Completely unjustified, Medical Journal retracts major studies critical of the abortion pill

00:29:51.580 ahead of the Supreme Court clash.

00:29:54.800 Montana parents face arrest after refusing to go along with daughter's sex change.

00:30:00.500 Virginia Democrats trying to pass a bill to make bipartisan election oversight a hate crime.

00:30:11.720 Let me start with this.

00:30:24.180 Stu, look up the definition of fascism for me, will you?

00:30:28.160 People, when they hear fascist, they think concentration camps.

00:30:32.280 And that usually is the way they end because you have to have, you know, you have to get rid of the

00:30:40.360 political people that disagree with you because unless you're in a free state, you can't have people

00:30:46.540 who disagree with you speaking out.

00:30:48.960 Hey, that's the definition.

00:30:51.480 That's the first definition of freedom is being able to speak your mind.

00:30:55.580 Well, you can't do that.

00:30:57.660 And it starts with intimidation.

00:31:00.160 It starts with suggestion, then intimidation, and then shove and shoot.

00:31:07.560 So you have to have these concentration camps.

00:31:09.960 But that's not in the definition, if I'm not mistaken, of fascism, Stu.

00:31:15.280 I'll give you the dictionary definition.

00:31:16.840 A political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts a nation and often race above the individual.

00:31:24.200 I mean, it's just so...

00:31:26.280 Say it again. Say it again. Say it again.

00:31:27.820 Exalts nation and often race above the individual. 0.99

00:31:32.020 Gee, who's doing that right now?

00:31:34.720 Tell me who is elevating race above the individual right now.

00:31:39.100 Tell me. Tell me with a straight face that is the right.

00:31:42.900 It is insanity to believe that.

00:31:45.380 It's insanity.

00:31:47.000 Every single person on the left is constantly telling us that this skin color is the most important thing about you.

00:31:54.380 It's constantly told to us that it's defining your entire life.

00:32:00.500 Your skin color tells you whether you're oppressed or not or whether you're a good person or you're not. 0.65

00:32:05.420 And we're the ones somehow.

00:32:07.520 I mean, it's so amazing that this has ever happened.

00:32:10.000 But it is a philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts a nation and often race above the individual.

00:32:15.380 And that stands for a centralized, autocratic government headed by a dictator, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition.

00:32:29.400 I don't know which party's about to lose their candidate from being on the ballot at all.

00:32:36.560 Which one is that?

00:32:38.940 A suppression of opposition?

00:32:41.700 Oh my gosh.

00:32:42.480 I, I, I, I, you're never going to get to any of your points if you don't turn off my microphone right now.

00:32:47.040 No, no, no.

00:32:47.620 I think this is fine.

00:32:49.660 It is, uh, it's, it's incredible.

00:32:52.220 And it doesn't include the, the biggest part of the actual mechanics of fascism, which is public private partnerships.

00:33:03.660 Businesses are allowed to be businesses.

00:33:05.800 Unlike in, in, uh, communism, they're allowed to be private businesses unless you disagree with the state.

00:33:14.120 But then they'll intimidate you and eventually just take you out.

00:33:19.400 Somebody else will get your business and, uh, you're gone.

00:33:24.340 Public private partnership.

00:33:26.460 Okay.

00:33:27.800 Now I just, I, I, I want to drill into your head.

00:33:32.640 Whatever they say that we're doing, they're doing.

00:33:38.400 Hey, good example.

00:33:40.020 They just, they call us fascists.

00:33:43.100 Could you read that one more time, Stu?

00:33:45.420 Sure.

00:33:45.740 Uh, a political philosophy, movement, or regime that exalts nation and often race above the individual.

00:33:51.520 That stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictator, severe economic and social regimentation and forcible suppression of opposition.

00:34:01.560 Okay.

00:34:02.660 You can see why they have to stand on nationalism.

00:34:07.300 Okay.

00:34:08.400 When we say we're proud to be Americans and we hold America high in our esteem, it's not at the expense of the individual.

00:34:19.240 In fact, it's because of the defense of the individual.

00:34:24.360 We are nationalistic.

00:34:25.960 Okay.

00:34:27.620 The, everything that the constitution says, everything that at least that I believe, and I think the vast majority of people that are, that claim to be conservative, that they truly are conservative.

00:34:39.840 It's because of the declaration of independence, the constitution and the bill of rights, which is all about the individual.

00:34:47.220 They're about collective salvation.

00:34:49.900 So if you're not a collectivist society, or you're not pushing for collectivism, you can't be a communist or a fascist.

00:34:59.000 Can't.

00:34:59.760 So everything they say we're up to, they're doing.

00:35:05.540 And I mean, just, you know, they said Donald Trump was just killing us overseas and none of our allies had any respect for us.

00:35:14.040 Well, I can think I can check that one.

00:35:16.760 They say that we're nothing but religious zealots that would force our religion on children in schools.

00:35:24.080 Who's doing that?

00:35:25.820 We're asking for school choice so the individual can choose if they want that or not. 0.99

00:35:34.560 They're, they've come up with this new woke crap and LGBTQ, which is a religion. 1.00

00:35:43.300 A religion requires excommunication. 1.00

00:35:46.180 If you don't go along with a high priest, they demand that you stick to the dogma.

00:35:54.260 There is no questioning of it.

00:35:57.480 Which one has the religion that they're, they're putting in schools?

00:36:01.440 They say that we're going to have a dictator.

00:36:03.440 Well, public private partnerships, silencing opposition, environmental and social regulations, medical tyranny.

00:36:11.060 We've got that.

00:36:14.320 The right is just in bed with big business.

00:36:16.760 Really?

00:36:17.560 Name the corporation that stands by the right and, and waves that flag.

00:36:23.580 Name the corporation.

00:36:25.980 It certainly isn't Coors.

00:36:30.420 In bed with big business.

00:36:33.040 That we don't really care about the lives of the poor and the immigrant.

00:36:37.080 And yet with what they're doing, the immigrant is being used and built by the drug cartels. 0.98

00:36:46.780 The women are being raped every day, sold into slavery. 0.99

00:36:53.180 We don't care. 0.99

00:36:55.300 Don't care about the poor.

00:36:57.520 Really?

00:36:59.040 Is your definition of caring for the poor what's happening in L.A., what's happening in San Francisco?

00:37:05.760 Because I think you don't care for the poor.

00:37:10.260 We're going to make, you know, they just want to, they're going to throw you back in chains to the African American. 1.00

00:37:15.960 Who's doing that?

00:37:20.520 They just want to overthrow the government.

00:37:22.300 You know, those people on the right, they have no respect for the Constitution.

00:37:25.340 They want to overthrow our system of government.

00:37:27.040 You can't even name our system of government.

00:37:29.900 You keep calling it a democracy.

00:37:31.700 It's a republic.

00:37:33.920 Well, they just want chaos in the streets.

00:37:35.940 We do.

00:37:36.540 You were the one with Chad.

00:37:38.180 What was it?

00:37:38.700 Chaz in Seattle.

00:37:40.000 You're the one that we're trying to get rid of all the police and reimagine how we're going to take care of people on the streets.

00:37:48.020 We're the ones that want chaos on the streets.

00:37:50.500 They don't care about national security.

00:37:52.300 You have 10 million people coming across the board.

00:37:54.940 We all know they're terrorists.

00:37:57.440 Yeah, but they don't really care. 0.86

00:37:59.040 I mean, you know, they're terrorists themselves, you know.

00:38:03.860 Well, really?

00:38:05.020 Well, I guess if that's true, which it absolutely isn't, at least we're not farming it off to Hamas and Hezbollah and Iran. 0.93

00:38:14.420 You support terrorists.

00:38:16.560 You support the terrorists on the streets here in America.

00:38:21.580 They're just going to take away your choice.

00:38:23.800 My body, my choice.

00:38:25.200 Really?

00:38:25.480 Unless it's anything other than an abortion.

00:38:28.260 You know, they just want to make sure that white people get the jobs. 0.81

00:38:34.600 Well, you've lowered the standard at the FCC.

00:38:40.720 I'm sorry, the FAA.

00:38:41.840 FAA lowered the standard at the FAA to the point to where if you're handicapped, black, trans, whatever the flavor of the month is,

00:38:53.440 they don't have to have the same test scores even.

00:38:56.860 They don't even have to test and have the same amount of competence to be an air traffic controller if they're not white. 1.00

00:39:05.680 But, uh, I don't think that's a good idea.

00:39:09.920 Which one is hiring just solely on race?

00:39:13.560 Now, here's the last one. 0.74

00:39:15.600 We're Nazis.

00:39:16.900 In Florida, they've been banning books.

00:39:19.840 Really?

00:39:21.060 Really?

00:39:22.100 We know that's not true.

00:39:23.920 We know that came from the left.

00:39:26.060 But again, if we know that the left accuses us of things that they are doing, let me give you this.

00:39:30.960 Jim Jordan yesterday revealed internal documents secured via the subpoena of Amazon highlighting the Biden administration's efforts to address propaganda and misinformation in books for the online retailer.

00:39:51.420 Okay, wait a minute.

00:39:53.480 They say that I'm responsible for misinformation and propaganda.

00:39:59.680 I will correct anything that I get wrong.

00:40:03.440 You show me where I'm wrong, I will correct it.

00:40:06.480 It's not a matter of opinion.

00:40:08.500 It has to be a matter of fact.

00:40:10.500 Show me where I'm wrong.

00:40:12.700 They don't.

00:40:13.780 They can't.

00:40:15.200 I am not for the banning of any voices.

00:40:21.320 I want to make sure everybody, those who disagree with me,

00:40:24.400 they should have a space in society and should be heard.

00:40:29.160 None of this digital ghetto stuff. 0.53

00:40:33.340 They say we're burning books or we're banning books.

00:40:36.620 And yet now we have the documents, the effort reminiscent of the Twitter file.

00:40:43.500 It starts with an email in 2021 from a White House official seeking the opportunity to discuss the high levels of propaganda and misinformation and disinformation of Amazon.

00:40:55.740 Now, why were they so upset with Amazon? 0.89

00:41:00.560 Well, because Amazon believed retailers are different than social media communities and provided their customers with access to a variety of viewpoints.

00:41:12.580 For the Biden administration, letting Americans actually read the other side is unacceptable.

00:41:19.420 This is a country that despises Nazism.

00:41:24.160 And yet you can buy Mein Kampf.

00:41:26.600 You can't in Germany. 0.95

00:41:28.620 Here you can.

00:41:29.920 You can buy Mein Kampf.

00:41:31.600 You can read Mein Kampf out in the open.

00:41:34.140 It doesn't make you a Nazi.

00:41:35.940 It makes you somebody that wants to understand what happened back then.

00:41:39.360 What was this guy even saying?

00:41:41.480 Without being able to read the insane ramblings,

00:41:45.580 you have no idea what he really was talking about.

00:41:49.020 You have no idea.

00:41:50.240 You can be duped into anything.

00:41:53.620 You'll be duped that, you know what, the Germans really didn't know. 0.95

00:41:58.440 Yes, they did.

00:42:00.220 It's in Mein Kampf.

00:42:04.360 But here, we can't argue about science anymore.

00:42:10.320 You can't have those books for sale online at Amazon.

00:42:13.540 So, after the meeting, one staffer asked,

00:42:18.720 is the Biden administration asking us to remove books

00:42:21.400 or just concerned about the search results and order or both?

00:42:27.700 Amazon, after the meeting, moved not to promote books questioning the vaccine.

00:42:33.360 So, you're not going to find it.

00:42:40.920 Wow.

00:42:43.600 Who's censoring?

00:42:44.900 Who's burning books?

00:42:47.040 Who's silencing people?

00:42:49.040 And the left will just say,

00:42:50.380 well, that's because it was about the vaccine.

00:42:52.600 Oh, okay.

00:42:53.100 So, if you're right, then you're okay with censoring.

00:42:58.640 Because I'm not.

00:42:59.520 I'm not cool with that.

00:43:02.000 I really would love to hear the other side

00:43:04.820 and how, you know, the Great Reset

00:43:08.120 and all of the things that are coming out from Klaus Schwab,

00:43:14.600 ESG, everything else,

00:43:16.060 how that's not true.

00:43:17.620 I'd like to read those things.

00:43:19.720 I have read those things.

00:43:22.860 Why are you so afraid of someone else?
