Transcript

00:00:00.000 all right i want to bring in sean kroll he has just filed a lawsuit against uh the atf
00:00:20.820 about something that is really honestly going to affect all of us and all gun owners if they
00:00:28.880 can get away with this they will come and take away your gun and it will happen faster than you think
00:00:36.200 now he is currently a structural engineer he is a decorated marine combat veteran um he served the
00:00:43.880 united states with distinction in afghanistan uh and he has a pistol with a 10 and a half inch barrel
00:00:52.300 and a stabilizing brace well that's a problem why because the atf has changed their mind
00:01:01.740 so he has just put together a uh a lawsuit and just filed it just a few minutes ago
00:01:08.980 we've been waiting for this uh to happen and he joins us uh now from wisconsin sean welcome
00:01:17.040 oh man i thank you for coming on but thank you for what you're doing this uh atf ruling that they
00:01:27.580 just changed and changed their mind and i believe have no standing have no way to actually uh do this
00:01:35.560 legally if this isn't fought in the court and won i think our second amendment rights are gone
00:01:43.040 do you believe it's that's hyperbole i know i'm inclined to agree you know um unfortunately this
00:01:52.640 is just uh another instance in a long list of arbitrary bans by the department of alcohol
00:01:58.480 tobacco and firearms uh to your point many of which were at one point deemed acceptable to be purchased
00:02:04.140 so i i agree wholeheartedly okay so tell me about your lawsuit why did you file it why is it being
00:02:11.020 filed in wisconsin and what does it say yeah so uh the reason for filing in short um again i i believe
00:02:21.660 this to be a a massive overstep by the atf and i don't believe it to be a a rightful or legal thing
00:02:29.040 to be done um i find it unfortunate that now as a civilian no longer an active uh service member
00:02:36.140 united states i still feel compelled to have to stand up for the rights of the people of this
00:02:41.040 country and unfortunately um i'm doing so from a branch of government that is sworn to do the same
00:02:47.120 uh part of the uh lawsuit that we have actively uh amongst myself and two other veterans is just
00:02:54.440 uh going against the atf for this ruling uh we we don't believe it to be valid we don't believe it to
00:02:59.280 be uh justify change in definition and so we wish to change that okay now you're filing in wisconsin
00:03:06.560 who is filing with you who do you have representing you yeah so the wisconsin institute for law and
00:03:14.080 liberty is the uh firm that i am working with uh again i have two other veterans one is a resident
00:03:20.320 here of wisconsin uh gabe tausher and the third is a uh veteran in the state of texas in amarillo
00:03:27.680 okay so if anybody doesn't know the wisconsin institute for law and liberty they are very very
00:03:35.300 good um and uh have a really good track record at things like this so this is kind of the you know
00:03:42.440 the reason why i asked this uh sean is um uh rosa parks was not the first woman to refuse to give up
00:03:49.620 her seat um she was just the best one to present to uh the world with the best chance
00:03:57.580 of of it sticking so i'm assuming that um there's others that are doing this but you are also you and
00:04:06.200 your your fellow um uh marines or or compatriots uh are are selected as one of the best cases out
00:04:17.120 there would that be true do you know yeah i certainly hope so um you know you you know we we pride
00:04:27.060 ourselves on you know not only our service but you know our continued service to our country uh in
00:04:33.560 all aspects now you know after all of our actual contracts with the department of defense have now
00:04:38.640 ended so yeah i would be inclined to agree okay so what are you arguing because it's it's a pretty long
00:04:46.220 um uh filing it's 25 pages and it covers a lot
00:04:52.720 yeah so again you know to i you know keep it relatively short we believe this ruling to be
00:05:02.920 unconstitutional we believe it to be against what the atf is within their bounds of being able to do
00:05:08.940 uh you're effectively taking an estimated 10 to 40 million americans that have purchased these braces
00:05:14.420 and you are making them sell them overnight and by doing so you are restricting their ability to not
00:05:20.440 only have their gun rights but to even participate in the voting experience as an american so we stand
00:05:28.100 to step in to hopefully stop or retract this change in definition so that we can again allow the people
00:05:36.100 of this country to exercise their second amendment rights how do you feel about the chances there in
00:05:42.400 wisconsin um so i believe the suit is actually formally being filed in amarillo texas uh again
00:05:52.280 the wisconsin institute for law and liberty is the one who is heading this up but there is a high
00:05:57.160 likelihood that in amarillo that this is likely to gain traction okay support so it is my understanding
00:06:03.760 that that is the the tactical choice perfect okay we are going and proceeding forward with that
00:06:09.380 okay i didn't know it was filed here in texas that explains that explains a lot thank you that makes
00:06:15.100 me feel much better okay so you are looking to um overturn the stabilizing but you're also if i'm not
00:06:25.200 mistaken um trying to make sure that this overreach doesn't happen in other categories beyond the
00:06:32.280 the stabilizing brace correct yeah so in general uh you know obviously we we hope to set a precedent
00:06:42.440 that again you can't unilaterally write law as the atf uh and by changing the definition they're trying
00:06:50.180 to go around that and to do it by other means and so what we are hoping to do is to again by stopping
00:06:57.780 this piece of of definition change we hope to set a precedent to where this cannot happen for any other
00:07:03.700 instance of any other uh type of item in the future so explain what that means because i mean i this this
00:07:11.800 law has come out it is absolutely nowhere in the mainstream press and i think that's for a reason
00:07:19.180 um they're avoiding this because they know if people understand what this means they will they will be
00:07:27.340 you know filing themselves i mean it would be i think it would be overwhelming the system with
00:07:34.320 litigation because it does just this one put maybe up to 40 million americans um in prison and it and it
00:07:43.060 forces you to turn over something that the atf themselves said was legal when you bought it now
00:07:51.540 they're changing with no grandfather law and this could go all the way all the way down to magazines
00:07:58.640 this could go to you know they are talking about banning all semi-automatic uh weapons which would mean
00:08:07.240 that really only the cowboy gun is is allowed oh and the red rider bb gun which will put an eye out
00:08:17.460 um yeah and that is accurate right can you kind of go into where this leads if it's not overturned
00:08:25.240 yeah so you know i think just uh recently within the last day or so they're finding now that
00:08:32.780 formally some of the triggers that are sold in the the industry are are now to be considered machine
00:08:39.060 guns you know the trigger assembly itself exclusively is a machine gun um you know you already have
00:08:45.420 instances where a vertical grip that is perpendicular to the direction of the barrel is making something
00:08:52.180 a felony to own versus if it's 15 degrees it has been safe you know you have a lot of these distinctions
00:08:58.100 that kind of exist in ambiguity to where you could very unwittingly do something that is illegal and
00:09:04.540 become a felon unbeknownst to your choices and so there is definitely an opportunity to expand this
00:09:11.940 if it gets pushed through and it is successful to apply to quite literally any other aspect of the
00:09:18.440 firearms industry and if we don't turn our gun in or if we don't alert them with a picture and
00:09:26.620 serial numbers and everything else um if we don't say hey i'm this citizen a and i have this gun and i bought
00:09:35.320 it here um if if this doesn't isn't overturned i'm automatically if i own one of these guns a felon
00:09:45.960 and they can arrest me but the problem is that this is exactly the way they did it in germany
00:09:52.500 they'll say turn in your guns but if you turn in your guns um then they have a register of everybody
00:10:00.620 if it is overturned anybody who's turned their guns in and turn all that information in they now
00:10:06.820 have a registry of that and you're not going to get your guns back if you overturn so a lot of people
00:10:13.200 are stuck in this place look i don't want to be a felon um but i don't want to turn my gun in and i
00:10:19.920 certainly don't trust the atf to give them my information yeah absolutely and you know it's worth
00:10:29.080 mentioning that the current amount of nfa submissions per year handled by the atf they are
00:10:36.700 oftentimes unable given the manpower that they have the resource allocated to to process all of
00:10:43.800 those in a given year i think the estimate is somewhere around 500 000 per year that are submitted
00:10:48.500 they can't get to them now so okay so wait a minute wait a minute explain that for people who don't
00:10:53.440 understand for instance if you have a legally owned automatic weapon a machine gun which is lawful
00:11:01.840 but they cost because you can only buy them from the you know prior to what 1980 or 1990 so they cost
00:11:09.420 an absolute fortune uh and drug dealers aren't buying them uh you know over the counter so they
00:11:16.020 cost a fortune and you have to go and apply for what is called a stamp and that vets you but to get
00:11:24.340 that stamp takes over a year but in this case they're saying you have to send all your information and apply
00:11:31.420 for that stamp but this goes into effect in 120 days there's no way to process all of those stamps
00:11:39.620 so what happens in between and they're playing cat and mouse on this they're being very coy on this
00:11:47.600 on what that means if you've applied and you don't have it yet correct you're absolutely correct so
00:11:54.460 to apply for the free uh tax stamp is what the one of the routes that you can do to be in compliance
00:12:03.020 with this new uh change of definition you can submit for your firearm to be what's referred to as an
00:12:08.600 sbr a short barreled rifle uh the issue to your point it oftentimes takes anywhere from 9 to 18
00:12:15.760 months to get that process and to be given the authority to legally possess that item now in any
00:12:23.200 other instance you would do so through a dealer who will hold on to the item until that acceptance
00:12:28.580 is granted to you and then issue that and transfer it over to you in this circumstance that we are
00:12:35.280 discussing this morning you already have that in your possession so when you exceed that 120 day mark
00:12:41.740 and you're you have still another anywhere up to 15 months to go before they could potentially approve
00:12:48.720 this you are by your own admission from the fingerprints and the photos that you have submitted
00:12:53.820 to the atf in violation of what you can legally possess at that time so you are at that point
00:13:01.700 immediately a felon all right so 120 days from the time of this law being posted this law was not had
00:13:10.620 not been posted um on the registry as of early last week when did they post the law when did the 120 days
00:13:19.020 go into action it is my understanding that that was this morning it was formally entered into the registry
00:13:25.960 and therefore you would have 120 days as of this morning to be in compliance with this new change
00:13:31.920 okay um sean i hope to have you on again um real quick do you think this is going to the court will
00:13:41.040 rule on this pretty quickly and hear the case i certainly hope so given the nature of these they're
00:13:49.480 usually long-winded arguments and battles but with that said we have hoped that uh the choice of
00:13:55.760 amarillo to be the state that we are filing suit in will have an effect and this will proceed and uh
00:14:01.700 get some traction here well again thank you uh again for uh filing this suit and and coming on
00:14:09.920 i really appreciate it i hope this story goes far and wide today because you need to understand
00:14:15.920 120 days from today if you own a a pistol that has a uh a pistol grip if you will a pistol brace
00:14:27.040 you will be a felon in 120 days uh and none of the options are any good to deal with it
00:14:36.320 you're listening to the best of the glenbeck program
00:14:43.220 here's a clip again from the world economic forum listen first off a video uh it's going to make you
00:15:06.500 see the future and understand a wonderful future where we can use brainwaves to fight crime be more
00:15:12.400 productive and find love that's wonderful you're in the zone even you can't believe how productive
00:15:19.380 you've been your memo is finished your inbox is under control and you're feeling sharper than you
00:15:25.820 have in a decade sensing your joy your playlist shifts to your favorite song sending chills up your
00:15:32.700 spine as the music begins to play you glance at the program running in the background on your computer
00:15:38.820 screen and notice a now familiar sight that appears whenever you're overloaded with pleasure
00:15:44.640 your theta brainwave activity decreasing in the temporal regions of your brain you mentally move
00:15:51.960 the cursor to the left and scroll through your brain data over the past few hours you can see your
00:15:58.200 stress levels rising as the deadline to finish your memo approached causing a peak in your beta brainwave
00:16:05.080 activity right before an alert popped up telling you to take a brain break but what's that unusual
00:16:11.880 change in your brain activity when you're asleep it started earlier in the month you send a text
00:16:18.740 message to your doctor with a mental swipe of your cursor could you take a quick look at my brain data
00:16:24.720 anything to worry about your mind starts to wander to the new colleague on your team whom you know you
00:16:32.320 shouldn't be daydreaming about given the policy against intra-office romance but you can't help
00:16:38.340 fantasizing just a little but then you start to worry that your boss will notice your amorous feelings
00:16:44.920 when she checks your brain activity and shift your attention back to the present you breathe a sigh of
00:16:51.860 relief when the email she sends you later that day congratulate you on your brain metrics from the past
00:16:58.080 quarter which have earned you another performance bonus you head home jamming to the music with your
00:17:05.040 work issued brain sensing earbuds still in when you arrive at work the next day a somber cloud has
00:17:12.540 fallen over the office along with emails text messages and gps location data the government has
00:17:20.320 subpoenaed employees brainwave data from the past year they have compelling evidence that one of your
00:17:26.580 co-workers has committed massive wire fraud now they're looking for his co-conspirators you discover
00:17:34.660 they are looking for synchronized brain activity between your co-worker and the people he has been
00:17:40.360 working with while you know you're innocent of any crime you've been secretly working with him on a
00:17:46.120 new startup venture shaking you remove your earbuds
00:17:50.080 stop for a second please stop how many feel comfortable with this this remember was introduced
00:18:00.200 as you know your future and showing you how exciting things can happen in your future you'll be able to
00:18:10.360 increase your productivity we'll be able to fight crime you'll be able to find love who's comfortable
00:18:17.120 with just this now let me just play the beginning of uh one of the eggheads at the world economic forum
00:18:26.560 talking about this go ahead
00:18:28.000 you have the rest what do you think is it a future you're ready for
00:18:35.340 you may be surprised to learn that it's a future that has already arrived
00:18:42.980 everything in that video that you just saw is based on technology that is already here today
00:18:48.740 artificial intelligence has enabled advances in decoding brain activity in ways that we never
00:18:55.760 before thought possible you've heard a lot about ai over the past few years here at davos it's been the
00:19:04.900 talk of the hour but i want to talk about it in a different way which is the ability to decode
00:19:12.240 brainwave activity after all what you think what you feel it's all just data data that in large
00:19:20.680 patterns can be decoded using artificial intelligence consider this the average person thinks thousands of
00:19:28.080 thoughts each day as a thought takes form like a math calculation you're happy you're tired you're hungry
00:19:34.800 you're elated neurons are firing in your brain emitting tiny electrical discharges as a particular
00:19:43.240 thought takes form hundreds of thousands of neurons fire and characteristic patterns that can be decoded
00:19:48.040 with eeg or electroencephalography and ai powered devices in fact what you're seeing here is my brain activity
00:19:56.240 while i'm wearing a simple device like the one on the right we're not talking about implanted devices of the future
00:20:04.680 i'm talking about wearable devices that are like fitbits for your brain
00:20:09.680 it used to be that there was very little we could tell from eeg activity but already using consumer wearable devices
00:20:18.680 these are headbands uh hats that have sensors that can pick up your brainwave activity earbuds
00:20:25.680 headphones tiny tattoos that you can wear behind your ear we can pick up emotional states like are you happy or sad or angry
00:20:33.680 we can pick up and decode faces that you're seeing in your mind simple shapes numbers your pin number to your bank account
00:20:45.680 it's not just your brain activity here that we can pick up we can also pick up your brain activity in different places
00:20:52.680 like as your neurons fire from your brain down your arm and send signals to your hand to tell you how to type move
00:21:00.680 all of that can be decoded through electromyography and that's what you're seeing here is a device now in the form of a simple wearable watch
00:21:10.680 that can pick up that activity and one of the pivotal acquisitions of the field meta acquired this company control labs
00:21:17.680 in 2019 because major tech companies are investing and helping to make these devices
00:21:25.680 universally applicable as the way in which we interact with the rest of our technology in fact the coming future
00:21:32.680 we are um we are um we are there gang everything's to who you remember you remember the crazy days back in the 90s when i would
00:21:45.680 talk about this stuff and it was really truly science fiction it was science fiction it was a prediction from people like
00:21:53.680 ray kurzweil ray kurzweil of where we were headed in the very near future um and when you said very near future it seemed like it was a long way away
00:22:04.680 you know it was 2020 2030 this would begin to happen and i've been i've been telling you um since 2016 i i started to get very very specific
00:22:17.680 that our jobs are going to be in danger our jobs are going to be in danger because
00:22:24.680 things like ai will be able to take jobs away from people this is why um when i've ever spoken of universal basic income
00:22:38.680 i have not dismissed it um out of hand as un-american universal basic income as it's been debated
00:22:49.680 has is wrong and i do not think it's an answer for anything i think it will only cause more problems
00:22:56.680 however what i have said is we have to discuss something because what's going to happen is these tech companies
00:23:05.680 like microsoft uh google and others they will start to create things that take the jobs
00:23:18.680 you
