Welcome to the podcast. It's a great show today. You don't want to miss it.
00:00:03.200
We have the one, the only Bill O'Reilly, who joins us for an hour today to go through what has gone on in the last week.
00:00:09.540
There's always a lot, and Bill always has a great perspective on it.
00:00:13.600
We then also talked to Madison Cawthorn. He's the youngest member of Congress, Republican.
00:00:19.520
He has been, of course, targeted that he's very much a threat to the left, and they have been coming after him.
00:00:25.040
We go through that, and we talk to small business owners from around the country that you have come together as an audience
00:00:32.100
to be able to help through the COVID craziness, people whose businesses were really on the verge of collapse.
00:00:41.840
You guys have stepped up and have helped them in dramatic ways.
00:00:46.360
We go through that with the people you've helped on today's program as well.

00:01:02.700
We're on with Dave Rubin today. Dave Rubin's on my show, Studios of America today.
00:01:10.820
It's an incestuous day at Blaze TV. Here's the podcast.
00:01:14.560
You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:01:29.020
Ladies and gentlemen, from his tour recently at Carnegie Hall,
00:01:36.260
Mr. Bill O'Reilly, the author of Killing Crazy Horse and Killing the Mob,
00:01:50.220
Yeah, I'm not going to get into it, but how difficult...
00:01:54.240
But first, I want to say that I'm going to offer up Mass on Sunday for your daughter.
00:02:01.840
And then privately, of course, if there's anything I can do to help you.
00:02:07.660
You know, you never know. We have a lot of clout, but whatever you need.
00:02:13.140
No, she's in an amazing hospital, and it's just...
00:02:16.240
It's really odd with COVID that, you know, people aren't allowed to be with their loved one.
00:02:23.000
One person is allowed in, and so she selected her sister to be with her the whole time.
00:02:31.940
I mean, we can't be at the hospital, can't be with her when she comes out.
00:02:36.880
Anyway, Bill, where do we even begin with this week's news?
00:02:40.720
All right, so I was surprised that Biden outed himself as this very enthusiastic progressive this week.
00:02:52.960
My analysis on BillOReilly.com was that he really doesn't have any core values, Joe Biden.
00:03:00.740
And I'm not saying that with any malice, but if you look at his career, he's changed on every issue,
00:03:07.580
including abortion, which is really hard to change on that, unless you have an epiphany.
00:03:16.280
So, you know, my assessment of Biden was, and I said this throughout the campaign and after,
00:03:23.260
if you elect him president, you're getting a malleable guy.
00:03:27.940
You're getting a guy who's basically going to court favor with his party and the press.
00:03:34.920
And the two press that he is most enamored with are the New York Times and Washington Post.
00:03:42.240
What people don't understand is that Joe Biden wants the approval of these newspapers
00:03:48.340
and that they are guiding him, more so than Schumer or Pelosi or any of the others, the Obamas,
00:03:57.420
that he wants to see those papers praise him on a daily basis.
00:04:05.660
So when you're going to take that turf, these are far left newspapers.
00:04:17.500
It always has been from George Washington onward.
00:04:21.420
And we got to wreck it and build a new country.
00:04:24.640
So essentially what it explained to me, then, if he wants the approval,
00:04:34.000
The fascist dictator that didn't leave office, Donald Trump, did six, six in his first week.
00:04:43.360
Joe Biden has done 40, a world record for presidents of the United States.
00:04:51.940
And the New York Times came out their editorial board and said, stop, stop with the executive orders.
00:05:05.060
It said stop because you're making it harder for us to get our progressive agenda passed in Congress forever.
00:05:16.420
It wasn't scolding Biden for being a progressive loon.
00:05:36.320
It was like, look, you're just undoing Donald Trump stuff.
00:05:38.820
The first few were just undoing Donald Trump stuff.
00:05:41.080
And if you want lasting change, you have to go through Congress.
00:05:43.660
But here's the here's the interesting point on this.
00:05:48.400
I don't think that anyone truly understands Joe Biden's real agenda or the or the the magnitude of force behind him.
00:06:01.280
They learned from Barack Obama, you have two years and you really have the first hundred days where everyone will give you a pass.
00:06:10.580
So you got to jam it in right now before something happens and there's a tea party organized or or anybody knows what to do.
00:06:20.700
Everyone's still talking about the last president.
00:06:27.820
I don't disagree because they're very nervous, the progressives, that they'll lose Congress in two years.
00:06:36.560
So they want to jam everything up now, get it in stone if possible and drive the United States into a socialist state.
00:06:48.760
I mean, they want the government to run the economy and dole out to the favored groups.
00:07:00.460
So I will tell you, Bill, I've had I've kind of have a different view on exactly what you just said.
00:07:12.680
What what is happening right now is the the use of these divisions, the use of these favored status is very convenient right now.
00:07:25.800
But the money, the real money is not going to be going to those groups.
00:07:30.460
The real money is going to these oligarchs, these giant companies and CEOs and those with connections and those who will play ball with the new, you know,
00:07:41.260
great reset agenda of of climate change, union jobs, et cetera, et cetera.
00:07:50.480
I think that these marginalized groups, as President Biden has described them, will receive a lot of favorability.
00:08:01.040
On the on the on the other side, I'm not convinced that there is a blueprint to enrich the social media titans by the federal government.
00:08:13.220
I think that they are they have an alliance, the left wing Democratic Party, certainly allies with Silicon Valley.
00:08:22.800
But you've got to remember that the the Amazons and the Facebooks and the Twitters, they develop something that people all over the world want.
00:08:37.560
They've amassed trillions of dollars, an amazing amount of power because of what they developed in the capitalist marketplace.
00:08:49.680
Now, these people are incredibly powerful, as we saw with taking Donald Trump's megaphone away.
00:09:01.340
So I've started a free speech movement, NACI, very, very early.
00:09:12.920
At least then Americans will know what's happening because Americans, you know, they're addicted to the phones and looking at the screen.
00:09:19.260
They don't really know what the big picture is.
00:09:25.480
I have to see more facts that there is a collaboration between the federal government and Silicon Valley.
00:09:32.240
There is a sympathy and alliance, but I don't think it's an organized collaboration.
00:09:41.160
You know about the Made in America executive order that says the government agencies are going to have to work closer with U.S.
00:09:48.540
businesses rather than paying foreign businesses.
00:09:53.180
However, the Made in America office, which the acronym actually is M-A-O, M-A-O, M-A-O, they are they say they are going to work.
00:10:12.040
This order is deeply intertwined with the president's commitment to invest in American manufacturing, including clean energy, critical supply chains, growing, good paying union jobs and advance racial equity.
00:10:26.880
So what they're what they're saying now is if you're not part of the clean energy, racial equality thing, if you don't have the right kind of people on your board, if you are not doing critical race theory, you're not going to get any federal money.
00:10:44.540
I mean, look, changing businesses and bringing them into the fold.
00:10:49.380
But there are very few private businesses connected to the federal government.
00:10:56.300
But if you want a federal contract, you're going to have to, you know, bring in a rainbow of people to sit there and say, yeah, yeah, we're having a great time working for Lenny.
00:11:09.220
But I'm going to send you a rough I'm going to send you a rough copy on the same.
00:11:15.640
Yeah, but I'm not a conspiracy kind of guy, because I know how incompetent the federal government is and the state government, too.
00:11:23.720
Well, I mean, I just can't execute stuff like this.
00:11:26.620
I'm not a conspiracy guy either, except when there is a conspiracy.
00:11:33.320
And I'm going to send you an early draft of the book on the Great Reset that I'm writing right now.
00:11:40.440
Bill, you have to see what they're doing in Davos this week.
00:11:43.860
It is that now they some of these people actually truly believe this is going to be great, but it's called stakeholder capitalism.
00:11:54.180
And it is I mean, they are saying this week capitalism is dead and it's going to be replaced with stakeholder capitalism.
00:12:06.660
I mean, the build back better thing that's happening all over the world.
00:12:15.760
You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:12:32.480
She was on with us about four weeks ago, I think.
00:12:36.520
She grew up an animal lover and an advocate and she rescues animals and she kept them or found them a new home.
00:12:45.900
She was doing this, you know, at the age of 13 and she's been doing it ever since.
00:12:52.300
Well, she opened up a neighborhood bar called Miss Kitty's Lounge in California named Miss Kitty because she saves cats.
00:13:09.480
At the same time, she was diagnosed with stage three breast cancer.
00:13:14.480
She underwent six months of chemotherapy, 15 rounds of radiation and a radical mastectomy.
00:13:25.680
She continues to fight and she kept her lounge going all the way through it.
00:13:33.200
When the pandemic struck, she was closed down by executive order.
00:13:41.300
And all of this started to really destroy her life.
00:13:49.480
And her her landlord was not exactly a friend of people who are struggling.
00:14:04.620
The last time you were on, I think you were one of those that I had to cut short on your story.
00:14:12.100
And I love the fact that when we told you that we wanted to raise some money, you were one of the businesses we selected.
00:14:35.840
Well, it's all their profits go to research, cancer research for stage four, which I'm stage four now.
00:14:44.320
And so like very little cancer research money usually goes to stage four.
00:15:01.420
A hundred percent of the money goes to stage four cancer research.
00:15:09.340
And so that's, we're chasing the science right now.
00:15:15.180
The one I'm on now is, was just approved in April.
00:15:23.280
Well, I, um, I, I'm thrilled to say that this audience is just truly amazing.
00:15:36.580
Uh, we have four small business owners and something else I'm going to tell the audience about.
00:15:42.120
Um, but that means Medivivor, uh, is going to receive a check in your name for $50,000.
00:15:56.100
The new treatment I'm on is, is, um, a lot easier than the last I was on.
00:16:04.440
Um, we're just hope, you know, just we're, you grab onto whatever hope you can.
00:16:10.860
And live the best life now, you know, I'm with your family, hug them close.
00:16:16.980
So our, our, our, um, our thoughts and our prayers, and I know people ridicule that, but
00:16:23.080
I know this audience and they, uh, are praying for you and will pray for you and, and your
00:16:34.440
Um, we, uh, have several people that we want to talk to quickly here.
00:16:48.820
This is a, uh, he opened his first restaurant in 1993 and, uh, he bought this property just
00:17:03.320
It has, uh, uh, uh, uh, a great heritage and he really was working to bring it all back.
00:17:19.720
Hopefully, uh, the founder and the owner of breakaway is Joe Crowley and he's with us
00:17:35.720
So tell me what has happened since we last spoke.
00:17:39.320
You were in pretty dire straits the last time we spoke.
00:17:44.460
Well, uh, Glenn, first and foremost, my health is getting better.
00:17:47.800
Uh, I know we spoke about, you know, I had a heart attack in the fall, uh, and, and
00:17:52.360
I'm getting stronger and better and, and my family supportive.
00:17:55.360
And, uh, we're very grateful, um, for that, uh, as, as an establishment, we're still closed.
00:18:01.940
Uh, we still have a full layoff of employees, uh, in, in the state, uh, we're, we're just
00:18:08.480
now looking to possibly, uh, have a March or an April opening, um, which we're not allowed
00:18:14.880
to have live entertainment in the building yet.
00:18:17.180
Uh, people really are not willing to commit to having functions and, and fundraisers and
00:18:25.880
The vaccine rollout in, in the state has been, um, very disorderly, very slow.
00:18:32.220
You're hearing stories about freezes being unplugged and thousands of vaccines, you know,
00:18:38.440
Uh, the elderly and the school teachers are having trouble making appointments.
00:18:42.140
So we're waiting for food service to come up, uh, to protect our employees.
00:18:48.120
Um, and I think when they, when the vaccine roll rollout gets a little smoother, um, we
00:18:54.300
can start eyeing and reopening, uh, maybe having some outdoor concerts when the weather today's
00:19:01.560
So, you know, we're not, we're not looking to get outside nine for so many reasons, Joe
00:19:18.100
Um, so Joe, I, I, I want you to know, uh, that we have, this audience has raised just a ton
00:19:26.780
of, uh, money and this doesn't make a dent in what you guys are facing.
00:19:32.840
Um, but, uh, we have divvied the money up and we have a check for you, uh, and breakaway
00:19:53.240
I, I, you know, I will let my crew know and my management know.
00:19:56.780
As soon as we come off the fire, no words, Glenn, um, you, you're, you're such an advocate
00:20:02.560
for small business and within the last year and, and your, your, your, your show and I'm
00:20:09.240
speechless and knowing everyone that knows me knows I'm never speechless.
00:20:19.980
Um, I, I mean, I, this audience is a small business audience and I grew up in the bakery
00:20:26.600
of my, uh, the back of the bakery of my dad's bakery and, uh, he lost his business in the
00:20:33.300
And I know what it's, I know what it's like to struggle as an entrepreneur and a, uh, and
00:20:40.560
And, uh, I'm lucky enough to be able to be a spokesperson for millions of Americans that,
00:20:47.060
uh, share your pain and understand it and wanted to help you out.
00:20:51.260
Well, I'll tell you, we, we're, uh, with this news that you're giving me now, we're going
00:20:56.780
to meet as a management group next week, and we're going to start making plans to, um, to
00:21:02.880
definitely get that spring open and maybe sooner than we would have before, maybe March, uh,
00:21:08.040
even if it means bringing a dozen employees back, we're going to get right at it with that
00:21:38.080
I don't know why our governments and our, you know, they've put these people out of business
00:21:47.980
But when we all work together, um, we can do something incredible and something that
00:21:53.720
maybe governments shouldn't be doing, uh, anyway, unless they're putting us out of business.
00:22:01.580
I want to take you to California to the other coast.
00:22:03.720
Now, uh, cronies is a sports grill and, uh, the, uh, the owner or co-owner Dave folds is
00:22:15.280
a guy who started his first location 30 years ago in Ventura, California.
00:22:19.800
Uh, they say they have the coldest beer and the best Buffalo wings around.
00:22:23.600
He has, uh, five locations and they, last time we spoke, in fact, he's on with us now,
00:22:34.660
Last time we spoke, it was really a trouble for you.
00:22:39.620
You're still, uh, are you open with outdoor dining or can you, have you been able to open
00:22:46.720
Well, we have five stores, but the Agura store is the store that, uh, my partners and I chose
00:22:53.280
to defy the orders and, um, and, uh, they're allowing outdoor dining again, which is kind
00:22:59.400
of crazy because I think it was just an arbitrary decision.
00:23:02.620
Uh, but my other stores in Ventura County, uh, there, they have returned to outdoor dining.
00:23:08.480
Thank goodness, because we were losing thousands of dollars every day.
00:23:18.580
Actually, I just looked at it right now and it was, it's, it's probably about more like
00:23:22.200
$24,000 right now because, because even after they allowed us to, in LA County to have, uh,
00:23:29.620
outdoor dining again, they're still finding me now.
00:23:32.460
I, I, today is the official day that you can reopen outdoors.
00:23:36.000
I don't know why they waited a week, but I still stayed open.
00:23:39.860
And the crazy thing is, if you look at this, I just have these numbers here.
00:23:43.800
When they closed us down around November 29th, there were 2,049 people in the hospitalization.
00:23:56.280
It tripled, but now they just say, okay, now you can open.
00:24:08.720
So Dave, we, uh, as you know, our audience, uh, has done a fundraiser for you and we're
00:24:16.540
divvying this, um, uh, divvying this money out and we have a check for you for $84,584 and
00:24:31.800
It is, uh, it's our privilege and, uh, and honor to stand with you.
00:24:42.120
Well, I'm sure I can share it with some other people too.
00:24:44.520
I, I, you know, we're in, we're in a bind man, but, but, um, I was very cool, man.
00:24:57.240
Make sure you, make sure you stay in touch so we, we can, uh, hear about the amazing
00:25:08.500
You know, I've been following you for a long time.
00:25:12.180
And I, uh, I, uh, I think I might even get a goatee going like you too.
00:25:39.460
Madison Cawthorn, an eighth generation resident in North Carolina's 11th congressional district.
00:25:46.980
2014, he nearly died in a tragic automobile accident, left him partially paralyzed and in
00:25:53.720
Uh, his ordeal, uh, really built his faith, made him a fighter, helped him appreciate every
00:26:01.420
day and inspired him to help everyone he encounters overcome whatever adversity they
00:26:11.040
Madison is committed to defending the values of faith, family, and freedom.
00:26:15.900
He's the youngest member now of the 177th Congress, Madison Cawthorn, not only represents the residents
00:26:24.240
of, uh, North Carolina, but also young Americans across the nation who want their voices heard
00:26:32.020
He is under attack now, um, as an enemy of the state or the enemy of Congress.
00:26:40.040
We, uh, are joined now by Congressman Madison Cawthorn.
00:26:50.880
And it's no exaggeration that I am under attack by what I'd call the mainstream media and by
00:26:58.300
You know, the, uh, the number one reason I think this is happening, and it's no surprise,
00:27:02.100
we knew this was going to happen, is because the people in my district, you know,
00:27:05.840
that they had a choice throughout every election, you know, you can send someone who wears tasseled
00:27:10.260
loafers and pleated pants and, uh, has soft hands and is going to go and, you know, get
00:27:16.760
And, uh, you might see his name in the paper when he signs onto a bill, but you know, uh,
00:27:21.000
really just, uh, uh, someone to go to DC and keep the status quo, or they could have chosen
00:27:26.840
to send somebody like me, somebody who wants to go there and destroy the administrative state,
00:27:31.660
get rid of what we call these swamp creatures, these bureaucrats who have, are not elected,
00:27:38.540
And then they're, they're promoted within these three letter agencies.
00:27:41.520
And then they pass ridiculous regulations upon me.
00:27:44.520
Uh, they don't, Congress doesn't want me in there because I'm someone who's going to speak
00:27:48.180
out against this radical agenda of being able to rule through executive order, uh, and being
00:27:53.120
able to tell the American people what to do and when to do it.
00:27:58.380
And if I'm hated within Washington, DC, but beloved in my mountains of Western North Carolina,
00:28:04.240
then Glenn, I got to tell you, I think I'm doing something right, sir.
00:28:07.040
So, um, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez yesterday, um, responded to Ted Cruz, um, when he said,
00:28:20.360
Uh, she said, I'm, I'm, I'm happy to work with almost, uh, anyone other than the GOP, uh,
00:28:37.040
I mean, is there, is there any relationship there?
00:28:40.180
There is, well, there is not, and I think this speaks to the broader issue that we're
00:28:45.380
seeing, you know, in our culture, and now it's seeping into our government.
00:28:49.520
It says, Hey, you don't exactly agree with every ideological point that I do.
00:28:55.280
Uh, you know, the, the Congress has been calling it Nancy Pelosi and Joe Biden.
00:29:01.220
They've been calling for, I'm using air quotes here, unity.
00:29:05.000
Uh, but Glenn, I've said this many times, my friend Charlie Kirk said it as well.
00:29:09.740
They're not talking about the American unity we imagine, uh, that was under Ronald Reagan
00:29:15.620
or, or, you know, on, uh, December, December 12th, right after the Twin Towers fell, that
00:29:22.460
Glenn, they're talking about Soviet unity, the kind of unity where you've silenced every
00:29:29.080
You have absolutely no diversity of thought, and therefore everybody agrees with you.
00:29:34.660
You know, they would, they would go in somewhere where there were enemies.
00:29:40.520
And then they would go back home and say, look, I brought peace to the region.
00:29:48.040
And it's not, it's not conducive to a healthy and prosperous society.
00:29:53.260
You know, having dueling ideas is what leads us to making better decisions for the American
00:29:58.340
So Madison, um, you know, we can, and we have unified before.
00:30:14.200
We don't have to have anything really in common except a few principles.
00:30:17.880
And those principles, everybody raises their hand to say, I will protect and defend those
00:30:24.940
Um, are they, are there principles we can unite on Madison?
00:30:30.860
If we don't, if we don't agree on the constitution and bill of rights?
00:30:36.600
No, that there are no principles we can agree on.
00:30:38.760
Cause you know, people will say like oftentimes like to refer to people like myself, Josh Hawley,
00:30:43.840
Matt Gates, Ted Cruz, they say we're far right.
00:30:46.780
But I kind of wince when I hear that, because as you know, there's no such thing as far right
00:30:58.380
And if you do not agree with that document, then you and I do not see eye to eye.
00:31:02.960
Uh, the, the problem is, I mean, you see, uh, AOC, to bring her up again, she has literally
00:31:08.900
said that perhaps it's time to start a commission to look into, uh, this, this journalism that's
00:31:14.560
That means getting rid of freedom of press, the press, uh, these people want to censor
00:31:19.480
what we can say so that they, they can control what we can think about.
00:31:23.500
And you can see throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, they're trying to control when we can congregate,
00:31:28.100
when we can worship, where we can get together.
00:31:29.860
Uh, you know, in 1776, the way the seeds of, uh, of, of our, of our freedom were planted,
00:31:38.720
It was done in churches and it was done in town squares.
00:31:41.420
Uh, but they've gotten rid of the new town square.
00:31:43.640
So you can't really speak your mind there on social media.
00:31:45.760
You can't go out to a bar anywhere in the country.
00:31:47.940
And I'm telling you, they won't even let us go into church.
00:31:51.600
So what do you see as the, the main fight for you?
00:31:55.840
Where are you, what are you going to concentrate on?
00:32:00.900
So what is the thing that you say, this is where I can be most effective?
00:32:09.100
So on one side, I'm elected to help the people of my district.
00:32:12.620
And now that we're moving into the era of big government under the Democrats, you know,
00:32:22.020
And I think it's bad for the entire country's economy and prosperity in the long term.
00:32:27.400
Uh, and so, you know, I'm going to be working on infrastructure reform, trying to get more
00:32:30.700
rural broadband, but you know what, where I'm really trying to cross, uh, cross boundaries
00:32:35.360
and break into new people groups that don't normally think conservative thoughts is I'm
00:32:39.880
wanting to present these big conservative ideas of limited government, of, uh, self self-determinance,
00:32:48.580
I'm wanting to bring those and package them well on social media so that people in my
00:32:53.180
generation have been deceived by socialism can realize that, you know, our, our policies
00:32:57.540
work, our ideas work, uh, because right now you are many people in my country, in this
00:33:02.800
country, uh, they are only being exposed to what the left is telling them.
00:33:06.860
And, you know, the left is telling them that everyone on the right is xenophobic, bigoted,
00:33:13.460
But my friend, you know what, I, if they want to attack people for not having a college
00:33:17.080
education, I got to push back on that and say that I think that if we had less people
00:33:20.920
wearing suits and ties and more people wearing work boots, making legislation decisions in
00:33:28.280
Um, what has your life been like since the election and, and, uh, entering into Congress?
00:33:39.240
So I'll say it's been, it's been a tale of two cities, you know, on one side, I have
00:33:46.920
created a lot of enemies inside the beltway of Washington, D.C. Uh, the establishment on
00:33:52.020
the left detests me because I'm willing to stand up and speak out against them. Uh, they
00:33:56.340
know that I've got my own platform, so I, I, I don't need to bow down to these journalists
00:34:01.080
who, uh, think that they can determine everything that happens in this country. Uh, and so sometimes
00:34:06.240
when I go to Washington, I feel pretty despised. But then as soon as I come back to Western
00:34:11.000
North Carolina, I, I'm greeted with love and thankfulness from people because they're excited
00:34:16.120
to have someone that actually represents their viewpoint. And people are starting to realize
00:34:20.240
just like you saw how, uh, the SEC is not allowing, you know, just normal everyday Americans
00:34:25.540
to be able to beat these hedge fund managers. Uh, just as you saw throughout the election, uh,
00:34:30.220
they didn't want normal everyday Americans in Wisconsin or Arizona to be able to determine
00:34:33.980
the election outcome. Uh, and when I go up there and speak out against this, these people
00:34:38.960
that detest it, but the people in Western North Carolina, the people I was elected to represent,
00:34:43.180
they love it. And it is the honor of a lifetime to get to serve them.
00:34:46.280
You know, I tell you that we've, we've talked about it on this program several times,
00:34:49.860
really since nine 11, if you, you know, Nancy Pelosi is talking about building a fence around
00:34:55.780
the Capitol and that she is, uh, feels the enemy is within. I got to, got to believe that
00:35:01.420
makes the Republicans feel good. The enemies are within, uh, they're surrounded by people
00:35:06.140
in Congress that want them, uh, dead according to Nancy Pelosi. And the best way to keep Congress
00:35:13.140
safe and for the continuation of our, of our, of our system, of our government in case of a horrible,
00:35:19.220
uh, terrorist attack or something else, uh, you know, God strikes the building with lightning or
00:35:25.360
something. Um, the best way to protect is to send all of the Congressman in the Senate home.
00:35:33.240
We can do all that you do electronically and you then are more responsible and more plugged in to
00:35:42.640
your local area and you don't lose touch with those people. And those people can actually not
00:35:48.820
lose touch with you. They don't have to go to the hallowed halls and, uh, see everybody all puffed up
00:35:55.000
in their big offices in, uh, in Washington DC. They're protected for continuation of government.
00:36:02.700
They're protected from corruption, at least easy corruption. It makes the lobbyist have to spend
00:36:08.360
a lot more money flying all around the country. I don't know why we haven't proposed this in Congress
00:36:14.220
yet. Well, you know what? I do think that there is something to be said for all of us, uh, coming
00:36:20.160
together and sitting down and creating relationships. Uh, I do understand what you're
00:36:24.780
saying. And, you know, Glenn, I've actually made the decision, although it creates a lot
00:36:28.260
more stress on me and a lot more travel time. Uh, I do not live in Washington DC. I don't have
00:36:33.100
a residence there. I sleep in my office. And the reason is because of exactly what you just said,
00:36:37.780
uh, Glenn, I don't want to be inundated inside of Washington DC. I don't want that to be my home.
00:36:43.980
I don't want to feel like that's normal. So I've decided to live back home in my district. So I've
00:36:48.220
got to fly a whole lot more. My life is here. Uh, my life is here, my, my church, my friends.
00:36:54.440
And you know what? I've got to go out to Cracker Barrel. I've got to go to the gun show. I've got
00:36:58.080
to go to church and my constituents can look me in the eye and say, Hey, why did you vote on this
00:37:03.560
bill? Why are you doing this? Why are you backing down? Why don't you have a backbone? And you know,
00:37:07.920
I think there's a lot to be said for that. So I don't think we should allow our congressmen and women
00:37:11.800
to be able to live in Washington DC. I think that's the reason they put it on top of a swamp.
00:37:16.320
It is. Um, yeah, the, the only thing is I do have a little bit of concern about doing
00:37:22.800
Congress through electronic means. Uh, you know, when, if I look back to history and look at
00:37:28.120
really when the death throes of the Royal Republic were happening, it was right towards the end
00:37:31.940
to the fall. There's really a lot of centralization of power in almost nearly what they would call
00:37:37.140
proxy voting. And so Glenn, you know, I got to give that some more thought, but there is something
00:37:41.500
to be said for living in your district, which I committed to do for the rest of my term in
00:37:46.120
Madison Cawthorne. Thank you so much. Uh, best of luck and, uh, keep up the, uh, proverbial
00:37:54.420
and, uh, metaphorical fight in Congress. Thank you so much.
00:38:00.340
Uh, Glenn, you're a patriot. Thank you for fighting for all of us. Talk to you soon, sir.
