00:00:00.000
welcome to the podcast today uh we have a kind of an interesting one for you
00:00:04.840
involving uh our own glenn beck who has who left the show a little early yesterday
00:00:11.540
which was kind of nice because it gave me a chance to just rant endlessly about andrew cuomo
00:00:16.700
and his last day in office however he left for a reason glenn let well andrew cuomo definitely
00:00:22.100
left for a reason but glenn also left for a reason yesterday because he was getting on a
00:00:25.480
plane and flying to the middle east he is in the middle east in an undisclosed location doing the
00:00:32.500
show from there today he has kind of a behind the scenes of how everything is going and where our
00:00:40.500
efforts might lead next if you want to help with this effort you can go to the nazarenefund.org
00:00:46.260
i know that's a big big part of this although as glenn mentioned we've been able to pass our goal
00:00:53.360
at least our initial goal to rescue people in the middle east and obviously any um additional help
00:01:00.580
would be uh greatly appreciated though really your prayers would be really appreciated too we're
00:01:06.900
talking about christians and other religious minorities who are in severe jeopardy because
00:01:14.360
the taliban has taken over these are people who are vetted christians people we've worked with before
00:01:19.160
uh and these organizations have worked with before and they are going not to the united states but to
00:01:25.040
other third party nations and other areas and they need your help obviously the americans are being
00:01:31.320
evacuated by the military we'll see how that is going to go some of the translators as well and those types
00:01:37.640
of people who helped during the war but there's other people on the ground here there that are
00:01:42.340
in real trouble and everyone's trying to come together and get something done so if you can
00:01:48.180
help the nazarenefund.org is the place to go and um you can go to blaze tv.com slash glenn the promo
00:01:54.440
code is glenn there to save 10 bucks off your subscription to blaze tv we'll have more on this
00:02:00.400
today i'm live from the middle east um in uh one of the countries that is kind of commanding
00:02:24.080
control of what is going on in kabul um we have greeted i just i just landed about an hour and a
00:02:33.500
half ago uh so i'm a little discombobulated i left during the show yesterday uh and we've been flying
00:02:40.500
throughout the night to be able to get here uh it is now late in the afternoon and uh it is uh
00:02:48.820
it's a mess it's an absolute mess the good news is people have gotten out um the the u.s citizens
00:02:59.200
and those with uh you know what they say blue passports uh those who uh also have letters allowing
00:03:08.960
them to get in many of those people were sitting on the tarmac and now they are are leaving the tarmac
00:03:16.440
and getting into uh c uh what is it c one what are they 141s uh the transplant the transport planes
00:03:26.060
and the united states is saying that really if you're not at the airport now you're not really
00:03:33.580
going to get to go and they're asking for people to back up from the gate um because they've pretty
00:03:39.580
much given the gates over to the taliban and to uh isis and people have been trying to get
00:03:46.280
through the gate with their blue passport and they can't now the united states government is denying
00:03:52.860
all of this uh but let me give you this from a cbs reporter when one of the one of the more strange
00:03:59.820
uh communications from cbs i've ever seen a cbs reporter says i just got off a video call with a
00:04:07.320
u.s citizen a woman housing multiple women and children in her home some are very young others
00:04:14.120
are physically disabled i saw them all on a video she said she has tried multiple times with her blue
00:04:20.680
passport and can't get to the airport that's true those things are happening right now citizens
00:04:29.640
cannot get to the airport uh then somebody on this twitter feed said you should contact glenn beck
00:04:36.880
of the nazarene fund they have planes um then somebody said planes are useless when people can't get to
00:04:43.300
the airport yes indeed that's true that's why we also have helicopters they said the next person
00:04:50.540
uh tweeted uh dad of queens uh they have groups that are getting them to the airport as well
00:04:56.020
the nazarene fund is amazing misty said he said today the state department was tanking their efforts
00:05:03.240
that's when the cbs reporter said guys none of this is true
00:05:08.040
as dad of queens responded and didn't get one from cbs news are you talking about the state
00:05:15.740
department blocking or that the nazarene fund isn't doing what they're saying they're doing
00:05:20.600
well i am here to testify to you in fact be a witness and that's one of the reasons why i'm here
00:05:28.880
to be a witness to history let me play the video here um if you can play that video that i sent you
00:05:37.100
from the tarmac of kabul there are the transport planes and you see the people that the united
00:05:42.860
states government is taking in lining up to get onto those planes and lo and behold you start to see
00:05:49.740
another a couple of other uh commercial jets and this one is our airbus taking in women and children
00:05:57.460
so i don't know what part of all of this is a lie but that was taken from my team on the ground
00:06:06.100
in kabul we'd like to get more people out um but uh we're not getting any help from the state
00:06:17.180
department and it is obscene what the state department is doing right now you have the system
00:06:24.220
collapsing on the the outside okay you can take these people who are in the kabul airport
00:06:30.940
um we can't help you get anybody through the gate because ooh ooh taliban and isis and i guess we're
00:06:37.060
now afraid of them but uh by the way where are you going to fly that plane because they're not giving us
00:06:45.880
documentation for these people we've we've vetted them we know who they are and there's nowhere to take
00:06:53.780
them because they are blocking the countries from taking them they won't give them you know i told
00:07:00.840
you a story the other day of raul wallenberg raul wallenberg is a great american hero except he's not
00:07:09.920
american he's swedish but he's an american hero we asked him to do something and then what a surprise
00:07:15.580
we abandoned him we asked him to just report on what was going on over in um i think it was prague
00:07:27.420
i can't remember exactly a little fuzzy this morning uh but it was in world war ii and we wanted to know
00:07:36.220
budapest we wanted to know what was going on with the germans and the jews well he got there and he saw
00:07:44.780
what was going on and he they were loading them on trains to bring them to death camps and they were
00:07:50.120
liquidating all of these people and so what did he do he started issuing what's called a schutz pass
00:07:58.300
he against the king of sweden he started issuing schutz passes which said this person is now under
00:08:08.500
the protection of the king of sweden and they are swedish citizens nobody in the world wanted jews
00:08:15.900
the nazis were in sweden the king called raul wallenberg and said what are you doing you're gonna get
00:08:24.500
us all killed he said you want me to stop you're gonna have to come here and stop me myself these are
00:08:29.520
people we can't get the state department to issue our own schutz passes anymore but i have a little
00:08:38.980
i have a little surprise for the um for the secretary of state and the state department
00:08:47.560
i have the airplanes i have the money i will tell you right now all of these refugees have been spoken
00:08:58.380
for by countries all over the world except for the united states the united states won't take people
00:09:06.980
who are christians we'll take everybody else but not these christians not these people who as we told
00:09:16.580
you yesterday we had a phone call from a fantastic woman who has already saved girls from afghanistan
00:09:24.560
and she said i have 200 female judges and they're all marked for death because they put
00:09:30.660
their life on the line by sentencing men to prison and then the taliban opened up all the prison and so
00:09:38.720
who do you think they want to get that woman who dare put me in jail and tell me what i had to do
00:09:46.140
she's a woman so 200 of these judges including uh the um judges of the supreme court
00:09:54.560
i don't know i think they should uh i think they should have a country to go to
00:10:01.180
now we have several countries we have the united kingdom we have australia we have several in the
00:10:09.260
middle east but we can't get the state department should shoulds pass huh
00:10:16.840
so the state department i'm just i just want you to know because i know i know you like law and order
00:10:27.720
i know you like to do things the right way and so if you don't want to issue you know the papers so
00:10:36.440
these people can go to other countries i understand that um that's why i will fill up these planes
00:10:45.160
and i will fly them to mexico and these 200 female judges and the christians the families the moms the
00:10:56.580
children they'll all be playing someplace in mexico and then i'll walk them across the border because
00:11:04.580
that's the only way apparently you can come in legally to america so i'll just walk them across
00:11:12.000
the border and don't you dare think i won't do it all the state department has to do
00:11:18.300
is just allow the paperwork to go through so these people can be resettled everywhere in the world in
00:11:28.520
countries that want them america doesn't want them that's fine then stop being like the nazis
00:11:42.780
i tell you i feel exactly like the people must have felt
00:11:48.460
when they were just when they had the means when they had the money when they had the angles when
00:11:58.840
and the nazis wouldn't let them go why because they wanted to kill them
00:12:06.220
well that's exactly what the taliban is doing to these people
00:12:16.640
we have the airplanes we have the countries that want to take them
00:12:37.040
these uh judges are they were at the gate yesterday they've left the gate now
00:12:55.340
we're going to get them out or we're going to die trying
00:13:20.860
now england is leaving before we get out of there
00:13:27.100
because we're getting out of here we're pulling troops out now we're starting to pull our troops
00:13:31.300
when has the united states ever pulled troops out before the job was done
00:13:45.700
oh it was probably vietnam when we left people behind last time
00:13:53.460
camps i remember wearing the bracelets of the people who we think left we left behind
00:14:12.700
and i know it would probably be very unpopular with my listeners
00:14:42.900
there's something wrong with you people in washington dc
00:14:51.700
you didn't you're not doing the job so the american people are doing the job
00:15:01.900
you're listening to the best of the glenn beck program
00:15:17.840
uh i i wonder if this would have happened five years ago
00:15:21.920
if uh i could tell you what country i was in in the middle east but
00:15:28.720
not to the rest of the world but to the middle east because they are so afraid of reprisals from
00:15:34.020
uh the taliban from now a reconstituted uh al-qaeda and isis
00:15:41.660
and uh i don't think anybody trusts america anymore
00:15:45.940
i know i don't recognize my country anymore it's embarrassing
00:15:51.640
he was the former director of national intelligence
00:15:54.480
uh and uh i mean i just i love this guy richard how are you sir
00:15:59.400
thanks for having me i'm really a pleasure to be here
00:16:12.020
what is really important for our listeners to understand right now
00:16:16.420
is that what is happening was not an intelligence failure
00:16:21.880
everyone should feel very good about the fact that
00:16:29.000
uh the the people you pay to join the foreign service of the united states
00:16:34.680
and go work and our embassies overseas uh our military
00:16:38.820
they reported they saw the rise of the taliban early this
00:16:49.140
that's out of control certainly but even before may we could uh see that the
00:16:55.640
taliban was going to take advantage of the right administration
00:16:59.000
it's important to remember that this was not an intelligence failure but a
00:17:13.140
let me push back on you just to play devil's advocate and i thought i believe any of this but
00:17:18.880
biden will say well that was just one of many voices and of course there were
00:17:23.460
there were voices that said it was you know but but everybody really said that it was going to be fine
00:17:30.260
well i think uh the reality is is that that's not true there were plenty of warnings from
00:17:37.840
state and intelligence officials and let's just let's just be
00:17:41.200
um scotty miller who was in charge of bagram uh he warned biden directly and jake sullivan
00:17:53.120
directly i have this uh as fact he warned that if you shut down bagram
00:18:00.980
and you take away the 2500 troops you will quickly have 5000 nato troops follow you in leaving
00:18:08.840
this will be a disaster the taliban will see this as their opportunity and you won't be able to
00:18:17.320
respond now look in in the trump administration let's remember glenn that on january 20th of this
00:18:23.040
year donald trump handed joe biden a stable afghanistan a functioning embassy at u.s embassy
00:18:33.400
kabul and a taliban that was deathly afraid of getting bombed if they took over a city
00:18:42.440
the the problem is not talking to the taliban the problem comes in in what the taliban hears
00:18:50.720
and what the taliban heard under donald trump is we cannot reconstitute we cannot go forward and
00:18:58.100
take over a city we will get bombed and obviously once joe biden took office the taliban completely
00:19:07.220
had a different calculus they did not hear that they started to take city by city and nothing happened
00:19:14.700
that encouraged them to take over the whole country our troops were withdrawn before we evacuated the
00:19:22.420
embassy look i don't say this lightly but for a secretary of state to sit in cabinet meetings
00:19:29.800
and allow the military to leave afghanistan before state department employees are evacuated
00:19:36.560
that is abandoning state department officials foreign service officers good americans we should
00:19:44.380
not allow this to happen the secretary of state should resign in disgrace for allowing the military
00:19:51.740
troops to leave before we evacuated the embassy the foreign service officers in these embassies they
00:19:57.280
don't carry guns they're looking for political solutions they're doing applications for immigrants who want
00:20:05.100
to get out these are front line workers for the united states of america and pushing our good brand
00:20:14.760
they don't have guns they are not equipped in a hostile situation they should be protected
00:20:21.660
otherwise if they're not going to be protected they should be evacuated and they weren't this is shameful
00:20:28.560
i've spent 10 years in the state department and i'm outraged that this happened to the state department
00:20:33.460
richard i i don't understand what's happening at the state department we have we have planes on the
00:20:41.600
ground the nazarene fund which is a charity that i started years ago it has become this very very
00:20:51.020
competent charity we operate all over the world we have now as of today i think we're three thousand
00:20:57.700
dollars shy of thirty million dollars we have all the planes we have very competent people working
00:21:05.120
in kabul with the generals and everybody at the airport at the airport um we have the ability to move
00:21:13.640
thousands of people but we can't get the state department to do anything everything with the state
00:21:22.560
department is like pulling teeth and now they're not giving the i don't remember what it is but the
00:21:27.440
the permission for these other countries to take these people we have countries that want to take these
00:21:34.360
people and they won't give us any of the documentation any of the work they're all fully vetted everything
00:21:41.220
what is happening well let me tell you one thing that's happening is that the the paperwork processing
00:21:48.480
and a lot of the language skills for the state department are done by what we call local
00:21:54.460
employed staff l-e-s is how they call it and the locally employed staff are afghans they have now been
00:22:03.960
told by the taliban that they cannot leave the country they will be targeted because they worked for the
00:22:11.380
american embassy these people are in grave danger and the state department has not allowed them
00:22:18.140
the locally employed staff who has who have worked with americans for decades to not be evacuated
00:22:27.280
the taliban is not letting them out and the u.s military the biden administration is not demanding
00:22:33.060
that these locally employed folks uh get evacuated so they are in hiding when their lives are now in
00:22:41.500
danger we do not have a functioning embassy and people are outraged by this when the military leaves
00:22:49.600
you can't expect the state department to stay in a hostile zone
00:22:55.380
who's responsible for this who's pulling the strings at the state department
00:23:04.520
i i i blame uh secretary blenken's weakness for not standing up in a in a cabinet meeting i've been in
00:23:13.760
cabinet meetings and it's a lively discussion and decisions are being made and if you are not at the
00:23:19.940
table defending your agency then you are doing a disservice to your employees clearly secretary
00:23:29.660
blenken and wendy sherman the deputy secretary of state allowed these decisions to be made where the
00:23:36.420
military would be evacuated and their state department employees would not be taken care of how how is that
00:23:41.920
possible i have no idea but we do know when you talk about strings being pulled we do know that when
00:23:49.660
susan rice was the national security advisor for barack obama her two deputies one was tony blenken our
00:23:59.120
current secretary of state and the other was our current director of national intelligence both the
00:24:05.660
intelligence agencies and the state department are led by susan rice deputies susan rice is pulling the
00:24:12.780
strings she has the title of domestic policy advisor no one in america believes she's working on medicare
00:24:19.780
policy what is what what is it that we can do you know i've talked to so many senators and congressmen
00:24:32.720
and they're all screaming bloody murder what what is it that we can do um because once the once they
00:24:42.480
leave office i mean sorry once they leave the airport all these people are going to be slaughtered richard
00:24:48.780
just slaughtered it is americans are going to be uh held hostage if we don't get this right
00:24:58.240
and i think that what we can do it first of all we have very poor choices right now we are in a corner
00:25:05.880
we have a variety of really bad but wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait wait if i'm president
00:25:12.240
of the united states and you come into me and this is going on i say i'm going to airlift
00:25:17.320
you know 10 000 marines and i'm going to clear that damn area out and get our people out isn't that an
00:25:25.140
option that is absolutely an option that's a dangerous option but it is an option that i think
00:25:32.540
we have to look at because all resources should be used the u.s government resources to get americans
00:25:39.320
out um my my point is we're in a very bad situation with terrible options uh which are forcing our
00:25:49.280
hand to go in and in a messy situation try to clear areas in order to get to the americans
00:25:56.680
this is causing our american men and women who work in the military to go into an unnecessary
00:26:04.460
conflict zone but they shouldn't be uh having to to to do this and yet we find ourselves in this
00:26:13.460
situation but i think okay okay have to be able to do is articulate very clearly as people who have
00:26:19.640
access to the media and and social media everybody on this hearing our voices need to articulate get
00:26:27.280
the americans home and get them home soon richard grinnell former acting director of national
00:26:35.580
intelligence always great to talk to you sir sir stay safe thank you this is the best of the glenbeck
00:26:44.620
program representative chris stewart is with us now um in washington dc hi chris how are you
00:26:53.520
good morning glenn i'd say thank you god bless you for you and the nazarene fund and the you know the
00:26:59.860
hundreds of thousands of people maybe more who've contributed uh that kind of effort is what's so
00:27:05.480
important right now yeah chris um i i was uh talking to richard grinnell about an hour ago about
00:27:13.140
this debacle and the white house is is is now saying to the press that they're demanding uh you know
00:27:22.240
a little you know a little pat on the back for how well this is going now i don't think i've ever
00:27:28.280
seen anything worse than this and it gets worse by the hour yeah this is this is a generational failure
00:27:36.400
glenn i really believe that just like we see pictures of saigon evacuation at the helicopter at
00:27:42.780
the top of the embassy and every american knows what that is even though it took place 50 years ago
00:27:46.940
50 years from now our grandkids will see pictures of those 800 afghans in that c-17 and they're going
00:27:53.860
to know instantly what it is this will be remembered and it's not going to be remembered as a great
00:27:59.880
success for president biden it will be remembered as a the greatest failure in a generation and how they
00:28:06.880
can try to twist this and try to turn the narrative that they should be congratulated well it's beyond
00:28:13.440
description but american people aren't that stupid and they're not looking at this thinking man they've
00:28:19.160
done a great job and even the press for heaven's sakes recognize that now i expect and i'll bet you
00:28:24.800
do as well the press will eventually turn on this and try to create the impression that it was handled
00:28:29.380
well no way in the world they're going to be able to pull that off it's just such a catastrophe
00:28:34.140
it can't be reframed as anything other than that do you believe that you know we're pulling troops out
00:28:42.800
beginning today today the the airport is a mess there are pictures now of people standing in
00:28:51.820
you know knee deep in sewage um just trying to get close to the gate to to show their passports to
00:29:00.720
show their papers that they should be let into the gates um and the white house says we'll have
00:29:07.040
everybody out we'll have everybody out that you know a u.s citizen do you believe that no of course
00:29:14.320
i don't i don't think there's a person in the world who believes that except for perhaps president
00:29:18.000
biden and if he does he is the only one but we've already begun to wind down we talk about the august 31st
00:29:25.360
deadline as if you know at 12 o'clock on that day all u.s forces just click their uh you know click
00:29:31.460
their heels and they and they are transported back to the u.s we have already begun the drawdown as you
00:29:36.840
know 300 marines who were embassy security forces who by the way glenn are marines they know how to
00:29:42.840
fight i can promise you those guys didn't want to be evacuated they wanted to stay there with their
00:29:48.060
brothers and do what they could to help this situation but yesterday 300 marines brought down and if
00:29:53.440
you just look at the timeline and this is blazingly obvious but it's something that needs to be i think
00:29:58.440
discussed we have 6 000 u.s forces there now six days to be able to draw them out and counting
00:30:05.620
it takes at least three days now to begin and to focus on those security forces and by the way
00:30:12.080
withdrawing forces when they're surrounded and when they're outnumbered and when they're outgunned by the
00:30:17.540
way now because those the taliban has as you know billions of dollars of u.s weapons
00:30:21.740
that is an incredibly delicate and a very dangerous operation and it has to be done over time
00:30:28.600
so i think the focus uh over the next really six days but particularly in the last three days will
00:30:34.260
be on just that getting the u.s military out and there's no way in the world you're going to get
00:30:40.080
out all the american citizens and there's no way in the world we're going to get out those afghans
00:30:44.500
who with great courage and commitment believed us when we said we will not abandon you work with us
00:30:52.340
work as interpreters work in whatever fashion you can to help us we will not abandon you and that is
00:30:57.840
exactly what we're doing to them right now chris you're one of the best fiction writers i've i i know
00:31:03.940
you're you're a great writer and you also write non-fiction books um but uh just just write a
00:31:12.120
little fiction with me here for a second it's it's two months i'm sorry it's uh two weeks from now
00:31:17.520
are we going to be seeing and dealing with hostages
00:31:21.600
well i think that depends if you talk to what white house spokeswoman uh depends on what the
00:31:29.240
definition of a hostage is at that point right just like some of the other definitional battles
00:31:33.800
they've had but if you were an american or if you were at afghani who has been promised that they
00:31:38.960
will be evacuated and you're no longer able to do that and you're under the power and uh and and have
00:31:45.760
no no ability to to remove yourself that seems to me like a hostage now whether the taliban actually
00:31:52.980
holds a gun to their head and says you can't leave or if they just shut down every method of leaving
00:31:57.900
any means of beating it's the same outcome uh and and the great fear and this is obvious i think it's
00:32:03.800
the one thing that everyone understands the taliban could in a moment sorry the taliban could in a
00:32:09.680
moment say these are our hostages they could put guns to their head which is why by the way glenn two
00:32:15.220
days ago or yesterday the president went to the taliban and says hey we need more time than august 31st
00:32:20.380
they said no and the president came back said oh good well i've announced we're going to leave on august 31st
00:32:25.340
it's because he has that great fear of these americans and these afghans being held hostage
00:32:30.840
and why did we send the cia chief over to meet with the taliban yesterday what was that all about
00:32:37.900
you know that really is kind of an unusual occurrence and working in intel it was puzzling
00:32:43.340
to many of us i think this is my observation on this um and i think it's probably right uh i think he's one of the
00:32:51.500
few people around the president that he probably trusts right now uh because that's not normally
00:32:56.620
it's cia's purview normally that'd be someone from state would be involved with that perhaps with some
00:33:01.980
military detail assigned to him but uh that was an interesting thing and i honestly don't don't
00:33:07.160
understand the explanation for it we haven't been provided with one oh geez and you're on the
00:33:13.300
intelligence uh committee your oversight on that um the um uh the embassy we left bagram and just left
00:33:26.420
it turned off the lights um i can't i don't even understand it we built a billion dollar embassy
00:33:33.220
there's got to be things in there that we don't want other people to have and i certainly don't want to
00:33:38.340
have the taliban allow them to have our billion dollar building are we going to blow that up yeah
00:33:46.980
well yeah i i don't know but i mean i can tell you this the former president made it very very clear
00:33:52.100
on a number of occasions and he spoke about this publicly and he was adamant about it in private
00:33:57.780
we will take every american citizen we will take every afghan ally then we will throw us troops
00:34:03.300
second thing we will not leave them a single stick of equipment and uh as you know we've left
00:34:09.300
them billions of dollars and bagram was a great example of that it's a very secure location now
00:34:15.300
it's difficult to evacuate people from because it's isolated and it's nearly impossible to get u.s
00:34:20.180
citizens and afghan allies to bagram so there is that and there's and there's that's understand why
00:34:25.300
we wanted to protect kabul and use that as a primary resource but to your point glenn about the uh the
00:34:31.620
facility the building the equipment that's there and unfortunately we know classified information
00:34:37.780
that was left there uh to abandon that overnight without any explanation to our allies by the way
00:34:42.820
who are also relying on bagram for much of their support uh and the explanation is well we couldn't
00:34:48.100
protect both of them then adapt your plan if you can't protect a resource that you need adapt the
00:34:54.580
military operation so that you can you can't just turn out the lights as you said in the middle of
00:34:59.780
night and leave it for the for the taliban i don't know if you saw this but um kamala harris was in
00:35:07.540
vietnam yesterday and her plane was delayed i haven't heard an update on this i've been on a plane
00:35:13.620
all night um but um her plane was delayed because of the cuba syndrome what they're calling the cuba
00:35:21.380
syndrome some people they didn't say who um that were was on her junket over there were
00:35:29.460
affected by something that we only identify as the cuba syndrome some sort of array from somebody
00:35:36.660
targeting her hotel rooms and her staff's hotel rooms uh i can't imagine that that would have
00:35:45.380
happened just even a few weeks ago uh to a vice president but do we know if she's okay what happened
00:35:52.660
and who would be responsible for something like that yeah this is this is what we know and and
00:35:58.660
that i think i can discuss uh the savannah syndrome or cuba syndrome as you talk about we've been aware
00:36:04.180
of it now for probably three years or just short of three years there are not just a few there are
00:36:08.900
hundreds of people who have been we believe who have been attacked by this we think we understand
00:36:13.220
what kind of weapon it is it should frighten the life out of every american to think that diplomats
00:36:18.100
and members of the u.s leaders of the u.s government you can't travel overseas safely
00:36:22.580
any longer if this is to continue uh so with the vice president was as again as i understand it was
00:36:29.220
a couple of diplomats who were in the hanoi embassy who had uh were showing symptoms of this
00:36:35.620
the symptoms are fairly consistent they're long-term this isn't an imaginary thing this is an actual
00:36:42.020
physical manifestation and uh and we have no way to counter it and no way to identify when an attack
00:36:48.900
is taking place again it puts every one of our diplomats every one of our military every government
00:36:54.660
person and civilian as well and you could be a target of this potentially anyone overseas uh and
00:37:00.660
and you have no idea when or how it takes place it really is a concern for us that originally the cia
00:37:06.900
didn't take it nearly as serious as they needed to they take it very very seriously now but we've
00:37:11.700
got an awful long way to go before we understand this and are able to protect u.s persons from such
00:37:16.580
an attack so who do we think is responsible for this i mean china russia either well take your pick
00:37:26.580
um and you know the information on that is it's fairly closely held and it's understandable but uh
00:37:32.020
you know there's a number of allies that uh can you tell me can you tell me um uh how it works i mean
00:37:41.940
can you tell me is it a what are the symptoms how long does it last is it deadly yeah it's not deadly
00:37:51.060
in the sense it doesn't kill you there's a number of possible explanations a microwave an intense microwave
00:37:56.500
a couple other possible uh scientific explanations the the symptoms are everything from nausea to
00:38:04.900
uh disorientation severe headaches uh you know dizziness etc etc long-term loss of memory and and
00:38:12.020
again this is something you can physically demonstrate through uh an examination it's not
00:38:17.940
you know it's not something just imaginary it's not something where they can scan the body and the
00:38:22.500
brain and say no we see no evidence of it they actually do see evidence of it it's physical and
00:38:28.180
some of the some of the earlier uh individuals who were uh who were victims of this it's been now years
00:38:33.220
and they still experience many of these symptoms so it's not something that hits you in the night and
00:38:37.620
the next day you feel better many of these symptoms have been prolonged and as i said have been
00:38:45.140
acts act of war kind of stuff if we knew exactly who it was wouldn't it attacking the people with
00:38:53.700
our vice president it would be and it's not the only type of that kind of scenario where we you know
00:38:59.540
we're in this kind of a gray zone i mean look some of the cyber attacks against us you know certainly
00:39:04.900
aggressive acts whether they're acts of war or not it depends on you know where you want to draw the
00:39:09.060
line but it's not the only uh indication or the only example of us being at risk chris stewart thank
00:39:16.500
you so much god bless please uh please keep fighting for us uh in washington and with the state department
00:39:24.340
and the military to get these people out we're there and we need your support thank you chris oh we
00:39:30.420
we will do that promise you we will do that thank you for everything you do glenn
