00:13:51.100 out by all the lies that were told last night. And then about halfway through, I realized the guy's

00:13:56.580 got like a 30% approval rating. None of this stuff is going to get done. Will you back that up? Or do

00:14:03.980 you think there's a chance? Well, I, I think that's largely right. And, and, and one of the things that

00:14:09.520 was astonishing was that he wasn't even trying listen, any fair assessment of the Biden presidency,

00:14:15.460 things are going badly. The guy's got a 30% approval rating. The wheels are coming off.

00:14:21.480 Every policy is failing and any ordinary white house heading into a midterm election in November,

00:14:27.680 where they're going to get blown out of the water. And they know it, they know they're going

00:15:20.320 how much trouble he thinks he's in. If he thinks the hard left base is so unhappy with him that he's

00:15:25.360 got to deliver the whole speech to them. But, but it was, it was, I've seen now 10 state of the union

00:17:42.680 we should secure our border. We all stood up and applauded at that. We support that. He later said,

00:17:47.980 uh, we should keep our schools open. Again, we stood up and applauded the Democrats and all of

00:17:52.640 those. It was the Republicans driving the applause on those, on those three. Um, there was one other

00:17:57.200 where he says the CDC says masks are no longer required. And I led the applause on that one. I'm like,

00:18:02.780 damn straight. Boy, it's a miraculous coincidence that happened right before the state of the union.

00:18:08.100 It's amazing how the science has a sense of political timing intimately connected to the

00:18:14.040 polling. I mean, it just really is. You know, don't question how our lady of Guadalupe works

00:18:19.100 her miracles. I mean, you just don't know. But you know, let's go back to the defund the police,

00:18:26.780 the cynicism of the defunding. So, so look, it was obviously Democrats for the last three years who

00:18:32.320 pushed defunding and abolishing the police all over the country. And by the way, they haven't just

00:18:37.000 said it in the abstract. They've done it in democratic city after democratic city,

00:18:41.640 they've slashed the funding for the police. And we now know the results of defunding the police,

00:18:47.120 which is that crime is skyrocketing, murder is skyrocketing, carjackings are skyrocketing,

00:18:51.680 property crimes are skyrocketing. And so suddenly the democratic pollsters realized,

00:18:57.460 oh, shoot, this is really unpopular. Oddly enough, people don't like it when the police

00:19:03.100 disappear and murderers start prowling the streets. That, that, that is an unpopular thing with the

00:19:08.420 voters. I don't know how they didn't know that before, but they figured it out. So the really

00:19:12.620 cynical gaslighting is, is a, they claim they were never for defunding the police, but be the next

00:19:18.620 sentence Biden said in the speech after we should fund the police is he said, you know, one of their

00:19:24.560 massive multi-trillion dollar spending bills included some small chunk of money for police

00:19:30.440 and Republicans voted against it because they were bankrupt in the country and driving inflation

00:19:34.600 through the roof. And so their talking point, which Biden said last night, which they'd said

00:19:40.060 at the white house press briefing is it's Republicans who are defunding the police because they didn't

00:19:45.380 vote for our socialist budget. And we had a little bit of money for police in there. And it's the level

00:19:50.800 of cynicism. It's not even third graders. They think the voters are kindergartners with ADD on

00:19:58.140 Ritalin, like playing video games and utterly not paying attention. And, and, and, and it's look,

00:20:05.920 I think one of the things about our democracy is you should respect the voters and respect the people.

00:20:12.320 It's one of the things you do every day with your show is that, is that you're working to inform

00:20:17.200 and entertain, but actually to discuss what the hell's going on. It's why people listen to it's

00:20:22.160 why people watch you and listen to the people and listen to the people. Yes. Yes. So let me switch

00:20:39.540 and send troops into Ukraine or to go into war with Russia? Are there, is that serious?

00:20:56.160 terrible idea. Horrible. Um, you know, it, it has only been a handful of voices suggesting it. I don't

00:21:03.180 think that's going to happen. Um, I am certainly opposing it vocally. Um, if you look at Ukraine, 0.99

00:21:10.480 um, you know, Kamala was right. It happens to be a country. Um, in Europe, I don't know what Europe

00:21:20.780 is, but that's where that country is. Well, there, there you go. Um, listen, the invasion in Ukraine

00:21:28.820 was avoidable. It didn't have to happen. And, and two things caused the invasion in Ukraine.

00:21:36.840 Number one, last summer, Joe Biden's disgraceful surrender in Afghanistan, abandoning Afghanistan

00:21:45.680 to the Taliban, leaving Americans behind incompetently giving up Bagram airfield, releasing

00:21:51.260 terrorists to turn around and murder 13 servicemen and women. That disaster was so bad that every enemy

00:21:58.280 of America looked to Washington and took the measure of the man in the Oval Office, and they

00:22:04.360 determined that Biden was weak and feckless and ineffective. And Russia did that. And China did

00:22:09.320 that. And Iran did that. And North Korea did that. And at the time, Glenn, I said, the chances of Russia 0.63

00:22:14.960 invading Ukraine have increased tenfold. The chances of China invading Taiwan have increased tenfold.

00:22:22.260 But secondly, is the specific mistakes that Biden made with regard to Ukraine and Russia, which is

00:22:31.300 Putin has wanted to invade Ukraine a long, long time. Ukraine used to be part of the Soviet Union.

00:22:37.840 Putin longs to reassemble the Soviet Union, even to go broader, as he described in his bizarre and

00:22:43.700 terrifying speech last week. He wants to reassemble the Russian Empire of 1922. He has already invaded

00:22:52.940 Ukraine once. He did so in 2014. He invaded Crimea, the southern part of Ukraine. But he stopped. He

00:22:58.840 didn't go into all of Ukraine. Why did he stop? The reason is Russia's principal source of revenue 0.74

00:23:05.000 is the sale of oil and natural gas. And the natural gas runs on pipelines right through the middle of

00:23:11.180 Ukraine. And the danger that Putin faced is if he invaded Ukraine, he risks damaging or destroying

00:23:17.880 those pipelines. And if the pipelines are destroyed, he can't get his gas to Europe. So what did he do

00:23:22.920 the next year? The next year, 2015, he began building a pipeline, a pipeline called Nord Stream 2

00:23:29.140 that goes under the ocean. It goes directly from Russia to Germany and it skips Ukraine. And the reason 0.90

00:23:35.200 he started building it is so he could invade Ukraine. In 2019, I authored bipartisan sanctions to stop

00:23:42.640 Nord Stream 2. My sanctions legislation passed both houses of Congress with overwhelming bipartisan

00:23:49.680 majorities. President Trump signed the sanctions into law. Putin stopped building the Nord Stream 2

00:23:56.960 pipeline, literally the day that Trump signed my sanctions. For over a year, the pipeline was dead.

00:24:06.080 Biden gets sworn in as president on January 20th, 2021. Four days later, January 24th, Putin begins

00:24:16.440 building once again deep sea construction on Nord Stream 2. Why? Because Biden projected weakness.

00:24:22.500 And a few months later, Biden formally waived sanctions on Nord Stream 2, surrendered, allowed

00:24:29.480 Putin to build the pipeline. And Glenn, that is why Putin invaded Ukraine, because Biden was so weak

00:24:37.880 and surrendered and allowed him to do that, do it. And this administration believes weakness and

00:24:44.300 appeasement is how you deal with bullies. All right. Let me ask you one quick question. We both have to

00:24:48.440 run. Yesterday, during the speech, oil per barrel broke 110. That's craziness. There is no doubt,

00:25:01.320 no doubt that the American people are going to pay a very high price for this. He's not going to open

00:25:08.160 up anything. Congress is out of, you know, out of your control or GOP control, reasonable people control.

00:25:15.980 Um, uh, are, are, are we still buying Russian oil? Are we buying it? Because they say that everybody

00:25:24.500 is, uh, stop buying it. But I read that we're still buying their oil. And so is Europe. Is that true?

00:25:32.740 Uh, it is true. We are still buying Russian oil. In fact, the region of the country that buys much of

00:25:38.540 the Russian oil is the Northeast. It's places like Boston, Massachusetts. Why? Because the idiot 0.57

00:25:44.440 politicians in New York won't allow them to build natural gas pipelines to get from the Marcellus

00:25:50.320 shale in Pennsylvania. There's vast amounts of natural gas in Pennsylvania, but New York won't

00:25:55.840 allow a pipeline to go through. So instead the liberals in Massachusetts import Russian gas

00:26:01.340 and Russian oil rather than using American. And, and listen, if you look at the sanctions Biden put in

00:26:08.180 place, he explicitly exempts energy. Energy is where Putin gets the bulk of his resources. We need to

00:26:14.920 not only stop buying Russian oil and gas, we need to lead a worldwide boycott. You want to weaken 0.86

00:26:21.000 Putin. We need to use our economic might to weaken Putin. And that means cutting off the sources for his

00:26:28.040 gas. And, and we've got plenty to sell in the United States. And, and, and Putin right now assumes

00:26:34.560 Europe is addicted to their gas and their oil. They have to keep buying it. If suddenly the European

00:26:40.440 refineries begin purchasing from other sellers, including the United States, including Texas,

00:26:46.080 they're not just going to get it on the spot market. The producers are going to want long-term

00:26:50.040 contracts. And if Putin starts seeing these refineries sign 10 year contracts with Texas

00:26:55.800 producers, that goes right to the heart of his military strength. It's how he funds his entire

00:27:03.460 invasion. That's actually how we defeat them. And Glenn, the problem is Joe Biden and Kamala

00:27:09.280 Harris, they believe Putin's going to win. And, and they don't believe there's anything we can do

00:27:14.440 to stop that. Like Ronald Reagan, when he was asked, what do we do in the cold war? What's your

00:27:19.460 plan? He said, very simple. We win, they lose. We should work to make Putin lose. And the way you do

00:27:26.380 so is number one, using our economic might to cut off their oil. And number two, providing military

00:27:32.560 weapon to the Ukrainians so that they can defend their own country, not American soldiers. We 0.96

00:27:37.920 should not send American soldiers into combat with Russians, but the people of Ukraine are 0.81

00:27:42.320 fighting heroically and we ought to be providing them with javelins and stingers so they can defend
