00:00:06.020 Hello and welcome to the Glenn Beck Program Podcast.
00:00:09.180 This is Jeff Fisher, Jeffy.
00:00:10.680 Pat and I filled in, Pat Gray and I filled in for Glenn today.
00:00:14.460 Glenn is still way under the weather.
00:00:17.940 He did not have a voice and was not feeling well at all.
00:00:22.960 And that's good that he's sick now because you don't want him sick in October and November
00:00:27.440 as the book tour begins for Addicted to Outrage.
00:00:31.320 You can go to glennbeck.com slash tour to get your tickets and find out where he's going to be.
00:00:36.220 We're trying probably to add some cities as time comes.
00:00:40.460 So just keep an eye on close to where you live.
00:00:44.080 Go to glennbeck.com slash tour.
00:00:45.840 Starts October 25th in San Antonio, Texas.
00:00:48.720 And we go to San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Richmond, Virginia, Hershey, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
00:00:55.200 And we go on to Cleveland, Ohio, Kansas City, Missouri, Evansville, Indiana, Tulsa, Oklahoma,
00:01:01.100 November 30th in Tampa, and December 1st in Orlando, Florida.
00:01:05.460 glennbeck.com slash tour.
00:01:07.940 Today we spent some time talking a little bit about Donald Trump's press conference yesterday
00:01:14.040 that he, the press conference went on for about 23 hours and 43 minutes.
00:01:20.580 And we discussed that.
00:01:22.440 He just wrapped it up, as a matter of fact, before the show started.
00:01:26.120 And then we talked a little bit about Don Lemon and how he felt about the Ted Cruz event
00:01:31.320 getting shouted out of a restaurant.
00:01:34.040 We did find out, however, just as a side note, that the restaurant, we were angry at the restaurant
00:01:38.720 when really they did the right thing and kind of shuttled Ted and his wife off into a side room
00:01:42.600 until they got rid of the protesters and then brought them back to eat their dinner, which was good news.
00:01:46.920 And then, of course, we had the Senate Judiciary Committee Senate hearings.
00:01:51.160 We carried that live.
00:01:52.940 We got to hear from Christine Blasey Ford.
00:01:56.480 And we got to hear that get started today.
00:01:59.260 And we talked a lot about the accusations against Brett Kavanaugh.
00:02:03.460 And, my gosh, it's like the Democrats are just throwing everything, including the kitchen sink,
00:02:11.560 to keep Brett Kavanaugh off the Supreme Court.
00:02:14.880 So, enjoy the show, and we'll hope that Glenn gets better and is back tomorrow.
00:02:20.420 Thanks.
00:02:28.080 You're listening to The Best of the Glenn Beck Program.
00:02:34.120 It's Thursday, September 27.
00:02:36.800 Glenn Beck.
00:02:38.180 I don't know the schedule of events, but I would assume that Kavanaugh will make some kind of statement
00:02:45.620 and then Blasey Ford, if she's there, will make some kind of statement and then be asked questions.
00:02:52.060 Yeah, it was leaked, her statement, that was the prepared statement, the full transcript.
00:02:58.920 So, it's surprising, you know, I don't know that that means that she's going to show up
00:03:03.960 and here's what she's going to say, or if it means she's not going to show up
00:03:07.920 and here's what she had to say to put in the record.
00:03:12.220 But it describes, you know, everything about the...
00:03:15.920 About the incident?
00:03:17.240 The incident, yeah.
00:03:18.320 The incident where two other men have come forward, by the way, now,
00:03:22.400 and said they were the ones that did it, not Brett Kavanaugh.
00:03:27.860 They came forward to the Senate Judiciary Committee to claim that they're the ones
00:03:32.480 who actually assaulted Christine Blasey Ford during the House party that she described in 1982.
00:03:39.560 Republicans on the committee released a timeline of events late last night,
00:03:43.640 which included details about their interactions with the two men.
00:03:46.500 The timeline recounts GOP staff members interviewing a man who believes he, not Judge Kavanaugh,
00:03:54.440 had the encounter with Dr. Ford in 1982.
00:03:57.420 That's fascinating.
00:03:58.740 That is.
00:04:00.080 But that's not what she says, though.
00:04:02.200 I know it.
00:04:03.940 But why would...
00:04:05.200 You're going to get two men to come and admit to this when they didn't do it?
00:04:09.320 No way.
00:04:10.580 Who's going to do that?
00:04:11.540 Now, I know the statute of limitations probably prevents any kind of prosecution,
00:04:17.440 but you could be sued civilly.
00:04:21.620 It could ruin your reputation.
00:04:24.180 So, that's a pretty bold move.
00:04:26.920 If somebody...
00:04:27.620 If they didn't do it and they're saying they did just to save Brett Kavanaugh's nomination,
00:04:32.640 I don't know who would do that or why.
00:04:35.760 I don't either.
00:04:36.940 But, you know, like, of course, you know, they could have come forward like one of the accusers
00:04:40.900 and just been, you know, all anonymous.
00:04:43.480 Yeah.
00:04:44.280 You know, like the anonymous mother who was speaking on behalf of her anonymous daughter.
00:04:48.480 Right.
00:04:48.820 And it was backed up by three of her anonymous friends.
00:04:51.340 Yeah, the only person who wasn't anonymous was Brett Kavanaugh.
00:04:56.200 And he pushed some woman up against the wall in a physical and sexual way.
00:05:02.940 Right.
00:05:03.220 But the woman was anonymous.
00:05:04.780 But she was anonymous.
00:05:05.420 But there's three other anonymous people who can verify it.
00:05:09.600 Right.
00:05:09.880 And we'll verify it because they saw it.
00:05:12.840 But anonymously, of course.
00:05:14.200 And the mother of the anonymous daughter was told this from her anonymous daughter.
00:05:19.300 That's unbelievable.
00:05:20.220 That's fact.
00:05:22.460 I mean, that's...
00:05:23.640 That's...
00:05:24.700 Man, it doesn't get any more factual than that.
00:05:26.120 It does not.
00:05:27.000 It really doesn't.
00:05:29.180 You can't deny it.
00:05:30.760 So here, on this particular episode, we're supposed to believe that they're walking out of a restaurant together, and then all of a sudden, out of nowhere, Brett Kavanaugh just grabs one of them and jams them up against the wall.
00:05:44.680 Because he'd been drinking.
00:05:45.780 Uh-huh.
00:05:46.020 You know, I guess he was the only one drinking in this bar.
00:05:50.940 Couldn't possibly be that all the other people that were with him were drinking.
00:05:54.800 No.
00:05:55.080 If it took place at all, obviously.
00:05:57.500 Right.
00:05:58.220 And yes, and then he slammed her up against the wall.
00:06:02.040 It was sexually violently.
00:06:05.040 What?
00:06:06.200 I'm not sure I know what that means, sexually violently.
00:06:08.760 I think the quote, I was trying to think, that's not the actual quote, but it is something like that.
00:06:13.280 It is like that.
00:06:14.100 Yeah, because I remember thinking at the time, what exactly?
00:06:17.400 Yeah, you'd have to really see that.
00:06:19.240 I mean, I think...
00:06:19.680 Does that mean?
00:06:20.100 I think that's, you kind of like, you know it when you see it.
00:06:23.240 Yeah, I guess.
00:06:27.460 It's just bad.
00:06:28.540 That one supposedly happened in 1998.
00:06:31.520 Yeah.
00:06:31.900 So the year is not unknown.
00:06:33.400 The people are anonymous, except for Brett Kavanaugh, and we don't know very many details,
00:06:38.700 but we do know it happened in 1998, and he was drunk.
00:06:42.360 As he always is.
00:06:43.720 Right?
00:06:44.260 I think we're finding out that Brett Kavanaugh has been drunk about 98% of the time he's been alive.
00:06:50.320 So...
00:06:50.600 Well, I mean, it certainly makes sense, because, I mean, I thought the first time I saw his testimony,
00:06:55.640 I thought, is he drunk?
00:06:57.740 Nobody thinks that.
00:07:00.100 No.
00:07:00.340 And really, in serious business.
00:07:03.400 If you are this guy who is a mad drinker partying, assaulting women, going to parties,
00:07:14.720 standing in line, waiting to have sex with separate women, and this happened over the
00:07:20.580 course of many years in many parties, do you think that an FBI background check, someone,
00:07:28.760 someone else who was standing in those lines, someone else who was assaulted, someone else
00:07:35.160 who was in this bar drinking, someone else who was passing by on the street who owns the
00:07:40.340 store next door to the bar, that saw this sexually violently embraced against a wall, drunk one
00:07:47.220 night, well, it would have come out.
00:07:49.120 Yeah.
00:07:49.520 Oh, yeah.
00:07:49.840 Do you think someone would have remembered something?
00:07:52.560 Yeah, the rape squad allegation that we talked about quite a bit on my show, Pat Gray Unleashed,
00:07:59.200 which immediately follows this one.
00:08:00.700 Talked about this yesterday.
00:08:02.120 It's hard to believe that if that indeed happened, nobody ever talked about it.
00:08:06.900 Right?
00:08:07.520 We never heard a thing about it.
00:08:09.160 And this guy just went on with the rest of his life and became a respected judge in D.C.
00:08:14.400 And nobody said word one until now.
00:08:17.680 Come on.
00:08:18.920 Come on.
00:08:20.220 So including the woman who, by the way, kept going to the parties and avoided the alcohol
00:08:28.420 so she wouldn't submit herself to the rape room, I guess.
00:08:33.960 I don't know.
00:08:34.840 Though the rape room was okay as long as it wasn't her.
00:08:36.880 Exactly.
00:08:37.900 Exactly.
00:08:38.500 That's my point.
00:08:39.220 So you didn't say anything to these girls?
00:08:41.880 Hey, don't drink the punch.
00:08:44.400 Because it's been spiked.
00:08:46.100 And you're going to wind up in the rape room.
00:08:48.020 I mean.
00:08:48.540 Is this the line for the bathroom?
00:08:50.080 No, this is the rape line.
00:08:51.360 Yeah.
00:08:51.880 I mean.
00:08:52.400 Are you kidding me?
00:08:53.640 It's amazing.
00:08:55.580 And it's just, it defies all logic and reason.
00:08:58.860 Sure does.
00:09:01.280 Now, yes, last night, late in the afternoon, President Trump conducted a very long,
00:09:08.440 in fact, I think it just wrapped up about 15 minutes ago, press conference.
00:09:11.480 He just wrapped it up.
00:09:12.340 He just wrapped it up.
00:09:13.520 And he had a lot to say.
00:09:16.040 I thought it was fascinating.
00:09:18.300 He had a lot to say.
00:09:20.320 He called the Kavanaugh allegations a big fat con job.
00:09:26.020 Here he is.
00:09:26.560 Do we have that audio where Trump calls Kavanaugh a big fat con job, the Kavanaugh allegation?
00:09:36.520 Well, the FBI told us they've investigated Judge Kavanaugh six times, five times, many times over the years.
00:09:43.940 They know him very well.
00:09:44.980 Six times, five times.
00:09:45.920 But here there was nothing to investigate from at least one standpoint.
00:09:49.740 They didn't know the location, they didn't know the time, they didn't know the year, they didn't know anything.
00:09:54.200 And it's like, where do you go?
00:09:57.120 Also, it's not for the FBI.
00:09:59.640 If you look at what Joe Biden said, he said, they don't do this.
00:10:02.800 And he said it very clearly.
00:10:05.680 So I think when you really look at it all, it's not going to change any of the Democrats' minds.
00:10:12.780 They're obstructionists.
00:10:14.920 They're actually con artists because they know how quality this man is.
00:10:18.640 And they've destroyed a man's reputation.
00:10:21.020 And they want to destroy it even more.
00:10:23.000 And I think people are going to see that in the midterms.
00:10:24.920 What they've done to this family, what they've done to these children, these beautiful children of his, and what they've done to his wife.
00:10:33.120 And they know it's a big, fat con job.
00:10:36.940 And they go into a room, and I guarantee you, they laugh like hell at what they pulled off on you and on the public.
00:10:45.540 They laugh like hell.
00:10:47.080 I believe him.
00:10:48.300 I do, too.
00:10:49.780 That's true.
00:10:50.880 I think they know it's true, and they're doing it anyway.
00:10:54.920 Because they hate him.
00:10:56.500 They hate Trump, and they hate Kavanaugh.
00:10:58.300 Yeah.
00:10:59.020 And they hate anybody on the right.
00:11:00.520 It's hard not to believe that.
00:11:03.680 Because they prove it every day.
00:11:05.100 They show us every day.
00:11:06.840 He also talked about how, yes, he believes Kavanaugh.
00:11:12.840 But I don't know.
00:11:13.960 Who knows what will happen tomorrow?
00:11:15.700 We'll see what the women have to say.
00:11:17.240 I know.
00:11:18.520 Listen to this.
00:11:19.420 The women could be convincing.
00:11:21.160 Yeah, they could be.
00:11:21.740 Here's what he said.
00:11:22.400 Women know how to lie.
00:11:23.160 As far as the other women are concerned, I'm going to see what happens tomorrow.
00:11:28.000 I'm going to be watching.
00:11:29.200 You know, believe it or not, I'm going to see what's said.
00:11:33.860 Okay.
00:11:34.300 It's possible that they will be convincing.
00:11:36.920 Now, with all of that being said.
00:11:38.960 Right.
00:11:39.300 Judge Brett Kavanaugh has been, for many years, one of the most respected people in Washington.
00:11:45.760 He's been on, I guess you'd call it, the second highest court.
00:11:50.360 And every single person knows him.
00:11:53.920 A lot of people know him well.
00:11:56.500 And those people don't believe what's going on.
00:11:59.080 You know, I guess you could call it the second highest court.
00:12:01.840 You could call it whatever you want.
00:12:02.600 Some people have called it that.
00:12:06.320 I don't know.
00:12:07.440 He's growing up before everything.
00:12:09.340 I love him.
00:12:11.460 So, he absolutely believes that this is a smear job and a big fat con job.
00:12:16.660 But the women might convince me tomorrow.
00:12:18.560 I don't know.
00:12:19.400 I don't know.
00:12:20.080 Believe me, I'll be watching.
00:12:21.460 Yeah.
00:12:22.080 I do believe him.
00:12:23.200 I do believe he can be convinced of.
00:12:25.160 And he kind of said it.
00:12:26.020 I can be convinced of almost anything.
00:12:28.280 I think he actually used that phrase during the course of the press conference.
00:12:35.640 He had a ton of things to say.
00:12:38.160 In fact, he had so many things to say.
00:12:40.140 We just kind of put some of it together for you.
00:12:42.620 Oh, nice.
00:12:43.100 So that you could just kind of recap.
00:12:44.820 China has total respect for Donald Trump and for Donald Trump's very, very large brain.
00:12:52.560 Why has President Trump given so much to North Korea?
00:12:57.060 I said, if I wasn't elected, you would have had a war.
00:13:00.440 President Obama thought you had to go to war.
00:13:02.380 You know how close he was to pressing the trigger for war?
00:13:05.360 We're not doing well.
00:13:06.480 Of course.
00:13:07.060 Let me call the Russians to help.
00:13:09.740 We have pictures of President Trump.
00:13:12.520 Whoa, where can I get him?
00:13:15.300 Wow, that's a lot of hands.
00:13:17.580 He's doing a whole routine here.
00:13:19.000 Right.
00:13:20.100 It's crazy.
00:13:20.820 It's a stand-up.
00:13:21.740 You're with who?
00:13:22.320 Good stuff.
00:13:22.760 Thomas Peter from Sky News.
00:13:24.520 Okay, good.
00:13:25.060 Sky News.
00:13:25.580 Thank you, Mr. President.
00:13:26.240 Congratulations on the purchase.
00:13:28.980 She has nothing to do with me.
00:13:31.500 Thank you.
00:13:32.240 I hope you benefited.
00:13:34.020 Yeah, you.
00:13:35.180 The guy looks like he's shocked.
00:13:37.880 That's not – this is going to be not good.
00:13:40.820 It's going to be good, sir.
00:13:41.680 The guy looks totally, like, stunned.
00:13:43.200 Have you ever been picked before for a question?
00:13:45.460 Excuse me, you said where from where?
00:13:47.020 Rudow Media Network from Kurdistan region, north of Iraq.
00:13:50.000 I'm a Kurd.
00:13:50.820 Good.
00:13:51.340 Good.
00:13:52.040 Great people.
00:13:52.860 Thank you, sir.
00:13:53.500 Great people.
00:13:55.020 Mr. President, you are.
00:13:55.560 Mr. President.
00:13:56.060 Thank you.
00:13:56.720 Are you a Kurd?
00:13:57.900 Mr. President.
00:13:58.800 Good.
00:13:59.400 They're great people.
00:14:00.440 They're great fighters.
00:14:01.840 I like them a lot.
00:14:02.760 Let's go.
00:14:03.180 I like this question so far.
00:14:04.880 Yes, please.
00:14:05.560 Mr. President.
00:14:06.140 New York Times.
00:14:07.760 Come on.
00:14:08.140 New York Times.
00:14:08.860 The failing New York Times.
00:14:10.080 Stand up.
00:14:10.580 Go ahead.
00:14:11.080 I like President Xi a lot.
00:14:12.920 I think he's a friend of mine.
00:14:13.780 He may not be a friend of mine anymore, but I think he probably respects – from what
00:14:17.460 I hear.
00:14:17.820 You were talking about your administration's accomplishments at the United Nations, and
00:14:22.320 a lot of the leaders laughed.
00:14:23.820 Well, that's fake news.
00:14:24.540 And what was that experience like?
00:14:25.460 Yeah, it's fake news.
00:14:26.280 And it was covered that way.
00:14:27.300 Okay.
00:14:27.620 They weren't laughing at me.
00:14:29.220 They were laughing with me.
00:14:30.560 We had fun.
00:14:31.160 When you say, does it affect me in terms of my thinking with respect to Judge Kavanaugh?
00:14:36.780 Absolutely.
00:14:37.480 Because I've had it many times.
00:14:38.740 When I see it, I view it differently than somebody sitting home watching television where
00:14:43.100 they say, oh, Judge Kavanaugh, this or that.
00:14:46.400 It's happened to me many times.
00:14:48.080 I've had many false charges.
00:14:49.820 If we brought George Washington here and we said, we have George Washington, the Democrats
00:14:55.760 would vote against him, just so you understand.
00:14:58.600 And he may have had a bad past.
00:15:00.160 Who knows?
00:15:00.600 No, he may have had some, I think, accusations made.
00:15:05.680 Didn't he have a couple of things in his past?
00:15:07.580 Always like to finish with a good one.
00:15:09.320 Elton John said, when you hit that last tune and it's good, don't go back.
00:15:15.260 I've seen.
00:15:15.920 Have you ever seen?
00:15:16.760 They do great.
00:15:17.620 They're great.
00:15:18.000 They hit the last tune.
00:15:18.700 Everyone goes crazy.
00:15:19.900 Hello.
00:15:20.080 Then they go back.
00:15:20.980 That's amazing.
00:15:21.780 That's amazing stuff.
00:15:22.660 That last tune is so good.
00:15:23.720 Don't go back.
00:15:27.720 This is the best of the Glenn Beck Program.
00:15:30.600 Let's say you just got a letter from some bank you've never heard of and they're threatening
00:15:41.700 to foreclose on your home because you've made zero payments on your $100,000 equity loan.
00:15:48.380 And you think, well, I didn't take out a $100,000 equity loan.
00:15:52.340 Right.
00:15:52.860 But the problem is some identity thief did.
00:15:55.920 That wouldn't be good.
00:15:57.020 No, it's not.
00:15:58.220 It's not good.
00:15:59.200 And it's happening way too often now.
00:16:01.880 And you get stuck with the payments.
00:16:03.440 It's a terrible scenario, but you can stop it by signing up at HomeTitleLock.com.
00:16:11.080 They will put a barrier around your home's title and your mortgage because this is one

00:16:30.240 The Kavanaugh hearing live.
00:16:32.280 Christine Blasey Ford is in fact there and ready to testify.
00:16:37.380 She did show up and Chuck Grassley is speaking now and opening up the hearing.
00:16:42.660 Let's join that live.
00:16:44.100 They and their families have received vile threats.
00:16:48.500 What they have endured ought to be considered by all of us as unacceptable and a poor reflection
00:16:58.120 on the state of civility in our democracy.
00:17:03.480 So I want to apologize to you both for the way you've been treated.
00:17:08.880 And I intend, hopefully, for today's hearing to be safe, comfortable, and dignified for
00:17:18.500 both of our witnesses.
00:17:20.740 I hope my colleagues will join me in this effort of a show of civility.
00:17:27.280 With that said, I lament that this hearing, how this hearing has come about.
00:17:34.160 On July the 9th, 2018, the President announced Judge Kavanaugh's nomination to serve on the
00:17:44.240 Supreme Court.
00:17:45.640 Judge Kavanaugh has served on the most important federal appellate court for 12 years.
00:17:52.320 Before that, he held some of the most sensitive positions in the federal government.
00:17:57.940 The President added Judge Kavanaugh to his short list of Supreme Court more than nine months
00:18:05.600 ago, in November 2017.
00:18:10.660 As part of Judge Kavanaugh's nomination to the Supreme Court, the FBI conducted its sixth full
00:18:18.500 field background investigation of Judge Kavanaugh since 1993, 25 years ago.
00:18:28.900 Nowhere in any of these six FBI reports, which committee investigators have reviewed on a bipartisan
00:18:36.480 basis, was there a whiff of any issue, any issue at all related in any way to inappropriate
00:18:45.760 sexual behavior?
00:18:47.880 Dr. Ford first raised her allegations in a secret letter to the ranking member nearly
00:18:57.680 two months ago in July.
00:18:59.780 This letter was secret from July 30th, September 13th to, no, July 30th until September 13th when
00:19:11.420 I first heard about it.
00:19:13.300 The ranking member took no action.
00:19:16.440 The letter wasn't shared with me, our colleagues, or my staff.
00:19:19.560 These allegations could have been investigated in a way that maintained the confidentiality
00:19:27.560 that Dr. Ford requested.
00:19:31.060 Before his hearing, Judge Kavanaugh met privately with 65 senators, including the ranking member.
00:19:39.300 But the ranking member didn't ask Judge Kavanaugh about the allegations when she met with him
00:19:44.340 privately in August.
00:19:45.320 The Senate Judiciary Committee held its four-day public hearing from September 4th to September 7th.
00:19:53.840 Judge Kavanaugh testified for more than 32 hours in public.
00:19:59.340 We held a closed session for members to ask sensitive questions on the last evening, which the ranking member
00:20:07.780 did not attend.
00:20:08.660 Judge Kavanaugh answered nearly 1,300 written questions submitted by senators after the hearing,
00:20:16.620 more than all prior Supreme Court nominees.
00:20:20.300 Throughout this period, we did not know about the ranking member's secret evidence.
00:20:27.660 Then, only at an 11th hour, on the eve of Judge Kavanaugh's confirmation vote,
00:20:33.720 did the ranking member refer the allegations to the FBI.
00:20:36.920 And then, sadly, the allegations were leaked to the press.
00:20:42.400 And that's where Dr. Ford was mistreated.
00:20:47.420 This is a shameful way to treat our witness, who insisted on confidentiality.
00:20:54.460 And, of course, Judge Kavanaugh, who has had to address these allegations in the midst of a media circus.
00:21:05.200 When I received Dr. Ford's letter on September the 13th, my staff and I recognized the seriousness of these allegations
00:21:13.960 and immediately began our committee's investigation consistent with the way the committee has handled such allegations in the past.
00:21:23.200 Every step of the way, the Democratic side refused to participate in what should have been a bipartisan investigation.
00:21:31.520 As far as I know, on all of our judgeships throughout at least the last four years or three years, that's been the way it's been handled.
00:21:39.200 After Dr. Ford's identity became public, my staff contacted all the individuals she said attended the 1982 party described in the Washington Post article.
00:21:52.660 Judge Kavanaugh immediately submitted to an interview under penalty of felony for any knowingly false statements.
00:21:59.960 He denied the allegations categorically.
00:22:03.580 Democratic staff was invited to participate and could have asked any questions they wanted to, but they declined.
00:22:10.440 Which leads me then to wonder, if they're really concerned with going to the truth, why wouldn't you want to talk to the accused?
00:22:20.860 The process and procedure is what the committee always does when we receive allegations of wrongdoing.
00:22:28.540 My staff reached out to other individuals allegedly at the party, Mark Judge, Patrick Smith, Leland Kaiser,
00:22:36.700 all three submitted statements to the Senate under penalty of felony, denying any knowledge of the events described by Dr. Ford.
00:22:47.000 Dr. Ford's lifelong friend, Ms. Kaiser, stated she doesn't know Judge Kavanaugh and doesn't recall ever attending a party with him.
00:22:57.520 My staff made repeated requests to interview Dr. Ford during the past 11 days, even volunteering to fly to California to take her testimony.
00:23:07.980 But her attorneys refused to present her allegations to Congress.
00:23:13.820 I nevertheless honored her request for a public hearing, so Dr. Ford today has the opportunity to prevent her allegations under oath.
00:23:25.160 As you can see, the Judiciary Committee was able to conduct thorough investigations into allegations.
00:23:32.980 Some of my colleagues, consistent with her stated desires to obstruct Kavanaugh's nomination by any means precisely, by any means necessary, push for FBI investigations into the allegations.
00:23:51.080 But I have no authority to force the executive branch agency to conduct an investigation into a matter it considers to be closed.
00:23:59.840 Moreover, once the allegations became public, it was easy to identify all the alleged witnesses and conduct our own investigations.
00:24:10.300 Contrary to what the FBI does, contrary to what the public has been led to believe, the FBI doesn't perform any credibility assessments or verify the truth of any events in these background investigations.
00:24:24.000 I'll quote then Chairman Joe Biden during Justice Thomas' confirmation hearing.
00:24:32.200 This is what Senator Biden said, quote,
00:24:34.540 The next person who refers to an FBI report as being worth anything obviously doesn't understand anything.
00:24:45.060 The FBI explicitly does not, in this or any other case, reach a conclusion, period.
00:24:54.000 They say he, he said, she said, they said, period.
00:24:59.620 So when people wave an FBI report before you, understand they do not.
00:25:06.860 They do not.
00:25:08.640 They do not reach conclusions.
00:25:11.280 They do not make recommendations.
00:25:14.340 End of Senator Biden's quote.
00:25:17.380 The FBI provided us with the allegations.
00:25:20.240 Now it's up to the Senate to assess their credibility, which brings us to this very time.
00:25:28.860 I look forward to a fair and respectful hearing.
00:25:32.220 That's what we promised Dr. Ford.
00:25:34.920 Some of my colleagues have complained about the fact that an expert on this side is investigating sex crimes will be questioning the witness.
00:25:44.600 I see no basis for complaint other than just plain politics.
00:25:50.860 The testimony we will hear today concerns allegations of sexual assault.
00:25:56.260 Very serious allegations.
00:25:57.460 All right.
00:25:57.480 Stations, I think we'll take our break right now.
00:26:00.440 And while Grassley is babbling endlessly.
00:26:04.520 And hopefully by the time we get back, Christine Blasey Ford will be testifying.
00:26:09.160 You're listening to the best of the Glenn Beck program.
00:26:27.200 Hi, it's Glenn.

00:26:37.060 You can subscribe on iTunes.
00:26:38.660 Thanks.
00:26:39.160 Well, Brett Kavanaugh and I were in high school.
00:26:42.100 I have described the events publicly before.
00:26:45.340 I summarized them in my letter to ranking member Feinstein.
00:26:49.260 And again, in a letter to Chairman Grassley.
00:26:52.380 I understand and appreciate the importance of your hearing from me directly about what happened to me and the impact that it has had on my life and on my family.
00:27:03.580 I grew up in the suburbs of Washington, D.C.
00:27:06.360 I attended the Holton Arms School in Bethesda, Maryland from 1978 to 1984.
00:27:13.280 Holton Arms is an all-girls school that opened in 1901.
00:27:18.320 During my time at the school, girls at Holton Arms frequently met and became friendly with boys from all boys schools in the area, including the Landon School, Georgetown Prep, Gonzaga High School, as well as our country clubs and other places where kids and families socialized.
00:27:38.360 This is how I met Brett Kavanaugh, the boy who sexually assaulted me.
00:27:43.220 During my freshman and sophomore school years, when I was 14 and 15 years old, my group of friends intersected with Brett and his friends for a short period of time.
00:27:55.980 I had been friendly with a classmate of Brett's for a short time during my freshman and sophomore year.
00:28:01.660 And it was through that connection that I attended a number of parties that Brett also attended.
00:28:08.460 We did not know each other well, but I knew him and he knew me.
00:28:13.680 In the summer of 1982, like most summers, I spent most every day at the Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase, Maryland, swimming and practicing diving.
00:28:24.740 One evening that summer, after a day of diving at the club, I attended a small gathering at a house in the Bethesda area.
00:28:35.440 There were four boys I remember specifically being at the house.
00:28:40.380 Brett Kavanaugh, Mark Judge, a boy named PJ, and one other boy whose name I cannot recall.
00:28:49.260 I also remember my friend Leland attending.
00:28:52.240 I do not remember all of the details of how that gathering came together, but like many that summer, it was almost surely a spur-of-the-moment gathering.
00:29:03.340 I truly wish I could be more helpful with more detailed answers to all of the questions that have and will be asked about how I got to the party and where it took place and so forth.
00:29:14.640 I don't have all the answers, and I don't remember as much as I would like to.
00:29:18.900 But the details about that night that bring me here today are the ones I will never forget.
00:29:26.440 They have been seared into my memory and have haunted me episodically as an adult.
00:29:31.340 When I got to the small gathering, people were drinking beer in a small living room, family room-type area on the first floor of the house.
00:29:42.840 I drank one beer.
00:29:45.680 Brett and Mark were visibly drunk.
00:29:49.160 Early in the evening, I went up a very narrow set of stairs, leading from the living room to a second floor to use the restroom.
00:29:57.460 When I got to the top of the stairs, I was pushed from behind into a bedroom across from the bathroom.
00:30:05.720 I couldn't see who pushed me.
00:30:09.040 Brett and Mark came into the bedroom and locked the door behind them.
00:30:14.220 There was music playing in the bedroom.
00:30:18.380 It was turned up louder by either Brett or Mark once we were in the room.
00:30:22.560 I was pushed onto the bed, and Brett got on top of me.
00:30:28.140 He began running his hands over my body and grinding into me.
00:30:34.340 I yelled, hoping that someone downstairs might hear me, and I tried to get away from him, but his weight was heavy.
00:30:43.220 Brett groped me and tried to take off my clothes.
00:30:46.100 He had a hard time because he was very inebriated, and because I was wearing a one-piece bathing suit underneath my clothing.
00:30:56.240 I believed he was going to rape me.
00:30:59.440 I tried to yell for help.
00:31:01.940 When I did, Brett put his hand over my mouth to stop me from yelling.
00:31:07.280 This is what terrified me the most and has had the most lasting impact on my life.
00:31:12.020 It was hard for me to breathe, and I thought that Brett was accidentally going to kill me.
00:31:19.860 Both Brett and Mark were drunkenly laughing during the attack.
00:31:24.380 They seemed to be having a very good time.
00:31:27.980 Mark seemed ambivalent, at times urging Brett on, and at times telling him to stop.
00:31:34.260 A couple of times I made eye contact with Mark and thought he might try to help me, but he did not.
00:31:43.620 During this assault, Mark came over and jumped on the bed twice while Brett was on top of me.
00:31:51.120 And the last time that he did this, we toppled over, and Brett was no longer on top of me.
00:31:57.120 I was able to get up and run out of the room.
00:32:02.360 Directly across from the bedroom was a small bathroom.
00:32:05.900 I ran inside the bathroom and locked the door.
00:32:09.900 I waited until I heard Brett and Mark leave the bedroom, laughing, and loudly walked down the narrow stairway,
00:32:17.440 pinballing off the walls on the way down.
00:32:19.740 I waited, and when I did not hear them come back up the stairs, I left the bathroom, went down the same stairwell,
00:32:29.560 through the living room, and left the house.
00:32:32.500 I remember being on the street and feeling an enormous sense of relief that I had escaped that house,
00:32:39.600 and that Brett and Mark were not coming outside after me.
00:32:43.120 Brett's assault on me drastically altered my life.
00:32:48.840 For a very long time, I was too afraid and ashamed to tell anyone these details.
00:32:55.800 I did not want to tell my parents that I, at age 15, was in a house without any parents present,
00:33:03.680 drinking beer with boys.
00:33:04.900 I convinced myself that because Brett did not rape me, I should just move on and just pretend that it didn't happen.
00:33:15.380 Over the years, I told very, very few friends that I had this traumatic experience.
00:33:21.780 I told my husband before we were married that I had experienced a sexual assault.
00:33:26.880 I had never told the details to anyone, the specific details, until May 2012, during a couples counseling session.
00:33:37.120 The reason this came up in counseling is that my husband and I had completed a very extensive,
00:33:44.400 very long remodel of our home, and I insisted on a second front door,
00:33:50.800 an idea that he and others disagreed with and could not understand.
00:33:55.260 In explaining why I wanted a second front door, I began to describe the assault in detail.
00:34:04.300 I recall saying that the boy who assaulted me could someday be on the U.S. Supreme Court
00:34:09.660 and spoke a bit about his background at an elitist all-boys school in Bethesda, Maryland.
00:34:16.420 My husband recalls that I named my attacker as Brett Kavanaugh.
00:34:20.600 After that May 2012 therapy session, I did my best to ignore the memories of the assault,
00:34:29.460 because recounting them caused me to relive the experience and cause panic and anxiety.
00:34:39.020 Occasionally, I would discuss the assault in an individual therapy session,
00:34:42.980 but talking about it caused more reliving of the trauma, so I tried not to think about it or discuss it.
00:34:50.400 But over the years, I went through periods where I thought about the attack.
00:34:55.660 I had confided in some close friends that I had had an experience with sexual assault.
00:35:02.600 Occasionally, I stated that my assailant was a prominent lawyer or judge, but I did not use his name.
00:35:07.820 I do not recall each person I spoke to about Brett's assault.
00:35:13.540 And some friends have reminded me of these conversations since the publication of the Washington Post story on September 16, 2018.
00:35:22.040 This is a Glenn Beck program.
00:35:23.280 But until July 2018, I had never needed Mr. Kavanaugh as my attacker outside of therapy.
00:35:29.680 This changed in early July 2018.
00:35:35.820 I saw a press report stating that Brett Kavanaugh was on the short list of a list of very well-qualified Supreme Court nominees.
00:35:45.300 I thought it was my civic duty to relay the information I had about Mr. Kavanaugh's conduct
00:35:50.700 so that those considering his nomination would know about this assault.
00:35:55.040 On July 6, I had a sense of urgency to relay the information to the Senate and the President as soon as possible before a nominee was selected.
00:36:06.580 I did not know how specifically to do this.
00:36:10.600 I called my congressional representative and let her receptionist know that someone on the President's short list had attacked me.
00:36:20.020 I also sent a message to the encrypted Washington Post confidential tip line.
00:36:25.040 I did not use my name, but I provided the names of Brett Kavanaugh and Mark Judge.
00:36:31.600 I stated that Mr. Kavanaugh had assaulted me in the 1980s in Maryland.
00:36:37.700 This was an extremely hard thing for me to do, but I felt that I couldn't not do it.
00:36:44.940 Over the next two days, I told a couple of close friends on the beach in Aptos, California, that Mr. Kavanaugh had sexually assaulted me.
00:36:56.040 I was very conflicted as to whether to speak out.
00:37:00.460 On July 9, I received a return phone call from the Office of Congresswoman Anna Eshoo after Mr. Kavanaugh had become the nominee.
00:37:09.400 I met with her staff on July 18th and with her on July 20th, describing the assault and discussing my fears about coming forward.
00:37:20.700 Later, we discussed the possibility of sending a letter to Ranking Member Feinstein, who is one of my state's senators, describing what occurred.
00:37:32.700 My understanding is that Representative Eshoo's office delivered a copy of my letter to Senator Feinstein's office on July 30th.
00:37:40.700 The letter included my name, but also a request that it be kept confidential.
00:37:48.600 My hope was that providing the information confidentially would be sufficient to allow the Senate to consider Mr. Kavanaugh's serious misconduct without having to make myself, my family, or anyone's family vulnerable to the personal attacks and invasions of privacy that we have faced since my name became public.
00:38:10.700 In a letter dated August 31st, Senator Feinstein wrote that she would not share the letter without my explicit consent, and I appreciated this commitment.
00:38:22.240 Sexual assault victims should be able to decide for themselves when and whether their private experience is made public.
00:38:29.480 As the hearing date got closer, I struggled with a terrible choice.
00:38:36.680 Do I share the facts with the Senate and put myself and my family in the public spotlight?
00:38:42.580 Or do I preserve our privacy and allow the Senate to make its decision without knowing the full truth of his past behaviors?
00:38:51.160 I agonized daily with this decision throughout August and September of 2018.
00:38:59.900 The sense of duty that originally motivated me to reach out confidentially to the Washington Post and to Anna Eshoo's office when there was still a list of extremely qualified candidates and to Senator Feinstein was always there.
00:39:16.780 But my fears of the consequences of speaking out started to exponentially increase.
00:39:23.660 During August 2018, the press reported that Mr. Kavanaugh's confirmation was virtually certain.
