Things fall in and out of fashion. That's true in politics too. Things that were not popular a couple of months ago have become fashionable again. For example, opposing Supreme Court nominees has become fashionable once again, and so has the Constitution.

00:00:39.360 This is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:00:44.540 You know, trends come and go.
00:00:46.760 Things fall in and out of fashion.
00:00:48.720 So today we're going to start by talking about things that are fashionable once again.
00:00:53.940 I mean, you know, sometimes bell-bottoms or wide-bottom jeans or flared jeans at the bottom,
00:00:58.500 you know, they're not popular, then they become popular again.
00:01:02.100 And that's also true, apparently, of politics,
00:01:04.140 because there's a lot of things that have just become fashionable again
00:01:07.420 that just a couple of months ago weren't very fashionable.
00:01:11.420 For example, something that has now become fashionable again.
00:01:15.960 Obstructing Supreme Court nominees.
00:01:19.260 Chuck Schumer, minority leader in the Senate,
00:01:21.640 has said that he and the other Democrats in the Senate
00:01:23.620 are actually going to not meet with Neil Gorsuch.
00:01:27.960 They're not even going to meet with him to consider him as a Supreme Court justice.
00:01:34.000 They're not even going to have the common courtesy to say,
00:01:37.280 sit down in my office and let's chat a little bit.
00:01:38.820 They're not going to do that.
00:01:39.800 They are being obstructionists.
00:01:42.300 But see, it was Chuck Schumer and other people just a couple of months ago
00:01:45.020 with Merrick Garland that told us,
00:01:46.540 how dare those Republicans not have hearings on this?
00:01:50.840 So apparently, now obstructing Supreme Court nominees
00:01:54.440 have become fashionable again.
00:01:56.600 Now, at the time, I said, yeah, they should have had hearings.
00:02:02.040 The Republicans absolutely, 100%, as directed by the Constitution,
00:02:06.740 should have had hearings on Merrick Garland.
00:02:09.420 They are directed to, shall, shall consult,
00:02:13.880 and then advise the president and then confirm or not.
00:02:16.200 That's your job.
00:02:17.220 They should have done it.
00:02:17.980 I don't care if it was a year or a week out.
00:02:20.200 The president nominates somebody, you start the process and do it.
00:02:23.500 And if you don't think that person is right, then Mitch McConnell and others,
00:02:27.760 the other Republicans there, they should have had the testicular fortitude to stand up
00:02:31.680 and say, we're not voting for this guy and he's not going to be a Supreme Court justice.
00:02:35.640 But they were playing the game and they didn't want to be on record as saying no to this guy
00:02:42.060 or turning him down.
00:02:42.780 It was easier for them to just kind of keep brushing it off,
00:02:46.500 rolling the dice to see who's going to get elected.
00:02:48.820 And although Trump got elected and although Trump did the right thing by picking Neil Gorsuch,
00:02:54.000 absolutely good pick, Hillary Clinton could be president right now.
00:02:57.940 And then what would the Republicans be doing?
00:03:00.760 They were wrong not to do it.
00:03:02.960 And Chuck Schumer is wrong not to sit down with Neil Gorsuch.
00:03:07.020 Of course he should.
00:03:08.180 But it's funny how these things have become fashionable again.
00:03:12.540 Now, don't get me wrong.
00:03:13.580 I'm happy that Hillary's not president and I'm happy we don't have Merrick Garland
00:03:18.340 and I'm happy that it's Donald Trump picking Neil Gorsuch.
00:03:21.980 Absolutely.
00:03:23.540 But the way they handled it was wrong.
00:03:25.780 And if you're not standing up and saying it was wrong, then you're part of the problem.
00:03:30.580 We've got to both simultaneously fight for our values, our individual desires,
00:03:37.440 the way we live our lives, the things we think are right, our moral compass.
00:03:41.280 Absolutely.
00:03:42.640 But we also have to be fighting for the structure that allows us to have a moral compass
00:03:47.660 and be heard and live our lives.
00:03:49.300 And that structure is the Constitution.
00:03:51.300 The structure is America.
00:03:52.740 And people like Chuck Schumer are not helping that.
00:03:55.860 Suddenly, the Constitution has become fashionable again.
00:03:59.300 Have you seen the nutty Hollywood types out there talking about the Constitution?
00:04:05.620 Yes.
00:04:06.020 Michael Moore, Deborah Messing, and others out there protesting with their pussy hats on
00:04:10.120 saying, it's the Constitution and the Electoral College.
00:04:15.900 So you now know the Constitution?
00:04:19.600 Because for the last eight years, you folks didn't know it existed at all.
00:04:23.060 It was like for eight years, they knew about the Constitution.
00:04:26.940 And then it got slid into a drawer when Obama got elected.
00:04:30.920 And they just kind of misplaced it.
00:04:32.960 Where is the Constitution?
00:04:34.140 I kind of remember that.
00:04:36.600 And then they found it the day after the election.
00:04:39.720 What is this yellow, crinkly piece of paper that a bunch of old white guys signed?
00:04:44.640 Wow.
00:04:45.040 They really had something to this whole structure of government and limited government.
00:04:48.880 Which, by the way, limited government has now become fashionable with these people.
00:04:54.080 Mm-hmm.
00:04:54.580 And protesting your First Amendment rights has become fashionable once again with people
00:04:59.720 on the left and the Democrats and people like Chuck Schumer and the Hollywood types.
00:05:03.440 They now understand protesting.
00:05:05.860 Yes.
00:05:06.820 Because for the last eight years, when I marched on D.C. with the Tea Party, when I was there
00:05:13.180 for the 9-12 march, when I attended tea parties all across America, when you were out there,
00:05:18.880 they called you teabaggers, a derogatory term with a sexual reference.
00:05:23.660 They looked at you in your knickers and your tri-corner hat and made fun of you and said,
00:05:27.920 just sit down and shut up.
00:05:29.480 You're being obstructionist.
00:05:30.860 Just get in line behind this president.
00:05:32.660 Because if you don't, you're not only an obstructionist, you're also a racist.
00:05:36.400 How dare you?
00:05:38.460 But now, magically, overnight, protesting has become fashionable again.
00:05:45.880 Acceptable.
00:05:46.820 Not only for your duty again.
00:05:49.960 So protesting has become fashionable.
00:05:52.280 Jokes about the president.
00:05:54.160 Fashionable once again.
00:05:55.800 Jokes about the president.
00:05:57.480 Jokes about hurting the president.
00:05:59.140 And suggestions that maybe we murder the president.
00:06:03.600 Yeah.
00:06:04.460 Those things have become fashionable again.
00:06:06.400 Well, I say about murdering the president because Sarah Silverman.
00:06:10.540 Yeah, you probably don't know her because she doesn't have that successful of a career.
00:06:14.600 I mean, guys, really be honest.
00:06:16.280 Sarah Silverman.
00:06:18.280 She's not really that successful.
00:06:20.680 About the most successful thing she's done is Jimmy Kimmel.
00:06:23.920 Hey, all.
00:06:27.460 Sarah Silverman, actress, picture me making the air quotes and comedian, picture me making the air quotes.
00:06:33.000 Tweeted out that, in all caps, screaming, losing her mind, that the military needs a coup to take over and, I guess, kill Donald Trump.
00:06:45.840 A military coup.
00:06:47.820 So military coups are now fashionable again.
00:06:51.060 Yeah, all of this stuff, jokes about murdering the president, all fashionable again.
00:06:56.740 Then you also have things like personal freedoms become fashionable again.
00:07:02.260 Over the past eight years or so, actually, over the past 16 years or so, when I've said things like, huh, you know, the Patriot Act, NSA spying on Americans, my ability to not be spied on by the IRS, the government staying out of my life, not telling me how to raise my children, not forcing me to make a cake for gay weddings.
00:07:19.560 And just go down the list, all of the things that I say, hey, that's about personal freedom and my choice, and I should be able to do this.
00:07:25.640 They said, you racist.
00:07:28.440 Why are you such a hater?
00:07:30.400 But now, magically, overnight, it's become fashionable once again to have those personal freedoms.
00:07:37.740 Maybe not in the exact same ways, but personal freedoms are certainly fashionable again.
00:07:41.940 To you, snowflakes out there that have been losing your minds, frustrated, outraged at Donald Trump, I mean, just melting down on social media, marching, you have only yourselves to blame.
00:07:57.660 This is your doing.
00:07:59.540 You may not like Donald Trump.
00:08:01.900 You may say he's not your president, which, if you're a legal American citizen, I got news, he's your president.
00:08:07.540 You may not like him, but it's not the electoral college.
00:08:13.100 It's not the antiquated electoral college.
00:08:16.380 It's not racism.
00:08:18.020 It's not misdirection, tricked votes.
00:08:20.620 It's none of this stuff.
00:08:22.060 It's you.
00:08:23.200 You are to blame.
00:08:25.060 You are to blame for Donald Trump if you don't like him.
00:08:28.580 Because by standing against me and some of the very things that you are fighting for now, when I said them over the last eight years,
00:08:35.860 you caused this level of backlash.
00:08:39.660 Now, I am certainly culpable in that discontent as well.
00:08:42.900 Others are as well.
00:08:44.980 But you're responsible.
00:08:47.000 Because you didn't stand with me on common ground on things like the Constitution and personal freedoms.
00:08:51.760 Because apparently you, for the last eight years, thought like Whoopi Goldberg thinks that if you say constitutionalist,
00:08:59.040 that you mean, we go back to the original day one Constitution where black people aren't a full human being.
00:09:06.080 They're chattel.
00:09:07.100 They should be slaves.
00:09:09.200 And that's certainly not the case.
00:09:10.440 But you objected to me saying things like, I should be able to live my life as I see fit and not forced to take part in your crazy ideas.
00:09:20.840 Forcing me to go to meetings and determine if I am somehow a racist.
00:09:26.260 Forcing me to take part in certain services and organizations.
00:09:29.960 Forcing me to take part in commerce to buy health care.
00:09:32.320 When I said, this is not the responsibility of government and I should have personal freedoms.
00:09:37.060 Leave me alone.
00:09:38.600 And you went off on me.
00:09:40.460 This is the result.
00:09:41.900 You planted those seeds.
00:09:43.960 And here it is.
00:09:45.820 So at least have the common decency to recognize that and stop melting down.
00:09:53.020 Stop trying to burn down buildings.
00:09:54.940 Stop breaking things in D.C.
00:09:56.600 Stop setting cars on fire.
00:09:58.660 Stop attacking people in the streets.
00:10:00.400 Because you've also told us for decades that you care more than I do.
00:10:05.280 That's the reason you do these things.
00:10:06.860 You care more.
00:10:07.960 I don't care.
00:10:08.660 I'm just a hater.
00:10:10.820 Were you caring more the other night in Berkeley?
00:10:13.400 When you pulled a guy out of the car and beat the hell out of him?
00:10:17.540 Did you care more then?
00:10:18.900 Did you care more in the streets of D.C. on Inauguration Day?
00:10:21.780 When you are on K Street throwing rocks at police officers and bricks trying to injure them?
00:10:27.680 Is that caring more?
00:10:28.440 You are responsible for this.
00:10:32.320 And your backlash now, your protests, are laughable.
00:10:35.680 Now, I support, unlike you, your right to protest as long as it's not violent, as long as you're not breaking other laws.
00:10:42.340 I support it.
00:10:43.780 Go.
00:10:44.320 Protest.
00:10:44.840 Fine.
00:10:45.560 But it's pretty ridiculous.
00:10:46.760 Because you're not being consistent.
00:10:50.220 It's no secret I didn't support Donald Trump.
00:10:52.700 I certainly didn't support Hillary Clinton.
00:10:54.400 I didn't support Donald Trump.
00:10:56.220 I vote on track record, his track record questionable and limited.
00:11:00.020 Nothing against him.
00:11:01.080 I like some of his ideas, but I just vote on track record.
00:11:04.120 Since he's been in office, I like most of what he's done.
00:11:06.800 He's done what mainly he said he was going to do.
00:11:09.580 And he has an incredible Supreme Court pick.
00:11:12.120 So, I like him.
00:11:14.000 Here's the difference.
00:11:15.500 You stood against Donald Trump and everything on the right, you precious little snowflakes, because you were so upset.
00:11:22.520 I stood against him because of track record.
00:11:26.740 But standing here today, I'm pretty happy.
00:11:30.080 I'm doing well.
00:11:31.080 Pretty good picks.
00:11:33.200 He's doing a lot of what I would hope a president would do.
00:11:37.180 But you're not getting your way.
00:11:39.480 And you could have had it.
00:11:40.940 And all you had to do was recognize the thing that I've been saying, and Glenn, and so many others for so long.
00:11:47.300 If you respect my rights to make decisions for me and my family, then I'll respect yours.
00:11:54.740 There's a lot of common ground.
00:11:56.680 But it's laughable that you're protesting.
00:11:59.380 It's just silly.
00:12:00.920 You know what else is fashionable now?
00:12:03.440 You know what else is fashionable?
00:12:05.080 Not only wanting a limited government, but wanting to limit presidential powers.
00:12:09.800 We'll get to that coming up.
00:12:10.980 But first, got to tell you about pro-flowers.
00:12:12.940 You got Valentine's Day coming up.
00:12:14.560 And wouldn't you love an easy, fail-proof way to look like a pro?
00:12:19.740 Guys, admit it.
00:12:20.640 It's such a pain.
00:12:22.400 It's not that I'm not romantic, ladies.
00:12:24.120 I am.
00:12:24.780 I like to do things for my wife.
00:12:26.900 I hate the obligatory things.
00:12:28.880 Oh, it's Valentine's Day.
00:12:30.400 It's this day.
00:12:31.040 It's whatever.
00:12:32.200 I'd rather just, huh, wouldn't it be nice if I did that for her?
00:12:35.740 But unfortunately, women see it different, and this is expected of us.
00:12:38.600 So a fail-proof way is pro-flowers.
00:12:41.160 This year, pro-flowers is making it easier than ever by taking all of the guesswork out of it.
00:12:45.980 Here's their offer.
00:12:46.720 On top of their already low prices, right now, you can get a dozen red roses with a free glass vase for just $24.99 plus shipping and handling.
00:12:54.560 That's a great deal, by the way.
00:12:55.960 Have you checked the stuff down in the corner when you're driving down the road?
00:12:58.740 And they're like, hey, get a dozen roses for $89.
00:13:01.440 I'm like, are you out of your mind?
00:13:04.520 I'm going to spend $100 on that.
00:13:06.700 $25.
00:13:07.440 That's a great deal.
00:13:08.500 Just go to proflowers.com and use the promo code GLENN, G-L-E-N-N.
00:13:14.360 Use the promo code GLENN.
00:13:15.760 Pick up your flowers and then check out in just, or pick your flowers and then just check out in two minutes.
00:13:20.260 It's pro-flowers, and it's very easy.
00:13:23.780 I've used pro-flowers for years because I originally heard Glenn talk about it.
00:13:27.040 It works great.
00:13:28.100 I think probably five, six years I've used them for multiple holidays, both my mom, my wife, other people.
00:13:34.160 By other people, I mean relatives, okay?
00:13:36.700 And one time I had a minor problem where an order was not exact, and they took care of it right away.
00:13:43.680 It's a good company and a good deal.
00:13:45.420 Just get the free glass vase.
00:13:46.660 Make sure to use the promo code GLENN, G-L-E-N-N.
00:13:50.800 It's pro-flowers.

00:15:05.820 This is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:15:10.160 Hi there.
00:15:10.500 I'm Doc Thompson in for Glenn today because apparently yesterday,
00:15:13.740 towards the end of his program when he was in Los Angeles, he suddenly got sick.
00:15:17.940 But I know, I believe that he was sick.
00:15:21.900 But most of the staff around here, like all the camera crew and that, they're all like,
00:15:26.340 yeah, this guy's just punking out for the long weekend.
00:15:29.460 I mean, I'm not going to call him out as individuals,
00:15:31.020 but they all question whether or not Glenn was really sick.
00:15:33.260 And Cal, who spins the dials, radio style for us, I know you were calling out Glenn saying,
00:15:38.000 yeah, this guy's punking out.
00:15:39.160 He's just a long weekend.
00:15:40.300 No, no, no, no, I did not.
00:15:42.200 I think you called him wussy.
00:15:43.140 Our fearless leader is allowed to have some time.
00:15:45.580 He's a hard worker.
00:15:46.400 He's a hard worker.
00:15:47.180 Oh, absolutely.
00:15:47.800 That's what I've always contended.
00:15:49.140 But I mean, when you called him wussy and wimp, I was like, wow, that's really brave of you.
00:15:53.800 Those were your words.
00:15:54.680 That's really shocking.
00:15:55.460 My words said that, you know, he deserves time off.
00:15:57.960 He works hard.
00:15:58.700 He's stressed.
00:15:59.400 He's traveling a lot.
00:16:00.100 Revisionist.
00:16:01.260 Revisionist.
00:16:01.640 What are you talking about?
00:16:02.160 You're a historical revisionist.
00:16:03.700 That's what you are.
00:16:04.620 Hey, if you want to join the program, you can tweet at us with the hashtag what I learned
00:16:08.080 today and we'll share some of those on the air or dial 888-727-BECK and we'll get some
00:16:12.980 calls coming up on how things that didn't used to be fashionable just a couple of weeks
00:16:18.180 ago, days ago, are now fashionable again.
00:16:20.400 It's 888-727-BECK.
00:16:22.100 But first, some tweets.
00:16:23.380 Cal, who do we have checking in on the Twitter today?
00:16:25.600 Jen, Baldwin, Jen.
00:16:27.340 Baldwin, Jen says, Doc Thompson, Joe, what I learned today.
00:16:30.280 Cal is an evil genius.
00:16:31.340 Cal is an, hold it, hold it, hold it right there.
00:16:34.280 Hold it.
00:16:35.160 Glenn told us just the other day we shouldn't say evil anymore unless it's truly evil.
00:16:39.420 So how about a wrong genius?
00:16:41.400 Because he said we should just call out wrong, wrong, not so good genius.
00:16:48.520 I think it's appropriate here.
00:16:49.580 You can call me an evil genius.
00:16:50.600 Evil genius.
00:16:51.140 I'm okay with that.
00:16:52.260 I'm okay with that.
00:16:52.840 Now that I think about it, I don't know if you use the word genius either.
00:16:56.040 I'm quite bright too.
00:16:57.060 Wrongly, wrongly, normal.
00:16:58.380 Many, many internet IQ tests online tell me that I'm...
00:17:02.000 Your online IQ test.
00:17:03.720 Tell me.
00:17:04.360 I'm up there.
00:17:04.880 Click here.
00:17:05.560 Do any of those tell anybody that they're adult?
00:17:07.740 Seriously.
00:17:08.500 I feel like those are like the equivalent of talking to the little soothsayers and the
00:17:14.380 little palm readers you go to at carnivals.
00:17:16.580 I feel that they're very accurate because they tell me they have a high IQ.
00:17:18.900 Because you ever notice any of those carnival people, they're never like, wow, you are
00:17:21.620 going to die in a horrible crash within days.
00:17:23.700 They're always like...
00:17:24.680 I don't think they'll get repeat customers.
00:17:25.820 Something good's coming up, right.
00:17:28.160 I'm not really sure what it is, but something golden in your future.
00:17:30.880 Also, Trailer Park, Aaron, Doc Thompson show, What I Learned Today, Insulting Donald
00:17:34.460 Trump is racist towards orange people like Oompa Loompas.
00:17:37.840 That's a good point.
00:17:38.520 Apparently, racism is now fashionable once again, too.
00:17:41.500 I don't know what race he is, but I know orange isn't a...
00:17:46.580 Normal.
00:17:47.540 It's a lesser known...
00:17:48.420 It's definitely a different race, right?
00:17:49.620 Orange lives matter.
00:17:50.100 Orange lives matter.
00:17:50.460 And orange lives do matter.
00:17:51.380 I'm not criticizing.
00:17:52.340 I'm not saying he shouldn't be president because of his orangeness or anything like
00:17:55.840 that.
00:17:56.360 I mean, I only know of two people off the top of my head that are of that race, but
00:18:01.220 they both had prominent positions in our government showing us that we are no longer racist,
00:18:04.780 and that is Donald Trump and also John Boehner, right?
00:18:08.720 I mean, he's the...
00:18:10.340 A guy who was Speaker of the House and President, all of this...
00:18:13.380 I don't know what the race is.
00:18:14.440 I feel uncomfortable saying orange.
00:18:16.900 There are different shades of orange.
00:18:18.040 I mean, Trump and Boehner, I don't know.
00:18:20.700 You kind of like one's a little more Tropicana, and the other one's probably more, you know,
00:18:27.160 Cheeto.
00:18:27.760 Well, here's what I do know when it comes...
00:18:29.440 And I'm going to write this down and tweet this out what I've learned today.
00:18:31.700 When it comes to the presidency, orange is the new black.
00:18:34.300 So with the...
00:18:35.440 That's a good one.
00:18:36.480 I see what you did there.
00:18:37.160 You see what I did there?
00:18:38.040 With the orange and the black.
00:18:39.640 What other tweets?
00:18:40.240 Brian Knoll, our very own Brian Knoll.
00:18:42.420 Doc Thompson calling out hypocrisy with precision this morning.
00:18:44.880 In for Glenn Beck on the Blaze Radio.
00:18:46.360 Thank you.
00:18:46.780 Thank you for noticing that.
00:18:47.940 I'm glad somebody's recognizing this.
00:18:49.520 I know Glenn's not because he's...
00:18:50.620 I like that you like that.
00:18:51.560 And finally, Mark T says,
00:18:53.560 Doc Thompson, what I learned today, a military coup,
00:18:55.900 martial law is fashionable again.
00:18:57.340 Have we gone completely insane?
00:18:59.080 We have.
00:19:00.000 We have.
00:19:00.580 This is why...
00:19:01.960 I mean, folks, we took so much heat.
00:19:03.740 Glenn has taken so much heat.
00:19:05.060 There was a lot of fake news about this stuff.
00:19:07.100 But by trying to be consistent, we have been abused, just beat up with some of this stuff
00:19:13.560 by simply trying to call...
00:19:14.960 We don't get everything right, of course.
00:19:16.600 We get some things wrong.
00:19:18.180 I didn't think Trump would get elected.
00:19:19.480 I'm happy he did, but I didn't think he would get elected.
00:19:21.900 But we make mistakes, but we still have that same goal of trying to be consistent about this stuff.
00:19:29.680 And yeah, these people now, the whole point of the monologue about things becoming fashionable again
00:19:34.420 is that these people have forgotten yesterday, just days ago, they said the exact opposite
00:19:42.220 because, once again, they are focusing on their personal desires.
00:19:46.800 And by the way, how many of these people out at the protests, you know, the Women's March,
00:19:52.820 any of these things, or Berkeley the other night,
00:19:55.400 how many of them are saying, I am out here because I want to make sure people have more food and have a better life?
00:20:04.940 Okay, they say that, but how many are really out there for that?
00:20:08.360 Of course not.
00:20:09.800 You look at the people.
00:20:11.300 You've got fat, unattractive women saying, women need to be treated better.
00:20:16.120 Well, where do you think their motivations from that come?
00:20:18.960 Where do you think that's coming from?
00:20:20.880 Maybe from the fat, unattractive woman?
00:20:23.360 Seriously.
00:20:24.220 They feel like a second-class citizen based on those things.
00:20:27.540 Maybe they are at times.
00:20:28.660 Maybe people look at them.
00:20:29.900 Maybe they're being judged by that.
00:20:31.800 You got the people out there saying, I'm being kept down.
00:20:34.080 Well, yeah, why are you?
00:20:36.720 Because you don't have enough.
00:20:38.140 That's why you're saying it.
00:20:39.920 It's personal.
00:20:40.760 They say, the banks have too much to bankers.
00:20:42.920 Are they saying that they want that redistributed so everybody has the exact amount?
00:20:46.360 No.
00:20:46.600 If you went to them and said, tell you what, I'll give you $500,000 of this banker's money if you shut the hell up.
00:20:51.260 You cool?
00:20:52.140 They're not going to take that?
00:20:53.140 Of course they are.
00:20:53.840 They're not going to stay in the streets like Mother Teresa or something saying, we got to help everybody.
00:20:58.020 It's all selfish.
00:20:59.880 And that goes right into hypocrisy and lies.
00:21:03.080 The Glenn Beck Program.
00:21:05.900 Mercury.
00:21:07.980 This is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:21:09.900 Hi there.
00:21:12.100 I'm Doc Thompson in for Glenn today.
00:21:13.600 Thanks so much for joining me.
00:21:15.320 Regularly heard on the Blaze Radio Network.
00:21:17.240 If you would, please follow me on Twitter.
00:21:18.920 It's at DocThompsonShow on Facebook.
00:21:21.680 It's Facebook.com slash DocThompsonShow.
00:21:23.580 But please follow me, though.
00:21:24.540 We have some really funny things coming up next week that you'll be able to follow if you just follow me on Twitter.
00:21:30.360 So it's at DocThompsonShow.
00:21:31.460 We'll be engaging in some things that are going to make you laugh.
00:21:34.900 We're going to be mocking some people in a grand way.
00:21:37.980 I can't share it now.
00:21:39.060 I asked management yesterday.
00:21:40.560 And they're like, what are you doing talking about this stuff?
00:21:42.540 And I'm like, I got to give them a little bit.
00:21:44.500 I got to.
00:21:44.820 They just know you shut up.
00:21:45.760 You're going to ruin it.
00:21:46.480 And I said, okay, fine.
00:21:47.340 So just follow me on Twitter, at DocThompsonShow.
00:21:50.460 Use the hashtag, what I learned today.
00:21:51.680 We'll share some coming up.
00:21:53.080 One of the crew that I have on my show in the morning, part of the crew, we got Cal of Spins and Isles Radio Style.
00:21:57.700 And we got RC underscore Chris on Twitter.
00:22:00.640 It's Chris Cruz.
00:22:01.520 He is kind of our social media guy, too.
00:22:03.820 You were really following all the stuff that happened at UC Berkeley with Milo, too, and the whole thing.
00:22:08.860 Explain what happened two nights ago.
00:22:10.480 So what happened, basically, is that Milo Yappaloponis.
00:22:14.140 I don't know how to say his last name.
00:22:16.140 But he's cool, though.
00:22:17.080 But we're on that friendship term now, that Yappaloponis.
00:22:21.680 Do you know why I only say Milo?
00:22:23.720 Yeah.
00:22:23.900 Because I don't know how the spell is going to say his last name either.
00:22:25.760 So I was getting in contact with people.
00:22:27.980 I was like, can I get the Fenetic kind of like say?
00:22:30.200 The Fenetic, yeah.
00:22:30.760 Yeah, and they were like, well, how do you say it?
00:22:32.020 I'm like, Yappalopaloponis.
00:22:32.900 No, like, just keep saying it.
00:22:34.980 I'm like, all righty.
00:22:35.840 So good.
00:22:36.380 So good.
00:22:36.960 So Milo's supposed to speak at UC Berkeley, and he's doing a tour.
00:22:40.840 And he just goes into colleges and kind of gets a little triggery.
00:22:45.400 Milo's a bomb thrower.
00:22:46.660 I mean, he pokes people in the eye.
00:22:48.620 And then when he's done poking them in the eye, he takes his thumb and gouges it in the other eye.
00:22:52.820 Oh, yeah.
00:22:53.340 And when he's done with that, then he kicks them in the nads.
00:22:56.160 That's just what Milo does.
00:22:57.400 That's his charm.
00:22:58.100 I'm not criticizing.
00:22:59.760 That's just who he is.
00:23:01.020 And if he's successful, I say continue doing it.
00:23:04.320 Okay.
00:23:04.600 Now, let me do a quick pause here.
00:23:06.360 This is an area that I slightly disagree with Glenn.
00:23:09.380 Most of the time, Glenn and I are usually in the same level.
00:23:11.460 There's been some things over the years I've called him out on.
00:23:14.180 TARP.
00:23:14.740 First two days, Glenn supported TARP and then backed off.
00:23:17.280 And I was like, Glenn, you're wrong for these couple days.
00:23:20.240 And he admitted it.
00:23:21.420 Milo is one of those.
00:23:22.400 Glenn is right in questioning some of Milo's tactics that you're not necessarily helping the situation.
00:23:28.340 In many ways, you're not.
00:23:29.780 You're causing trouble.
00:23:31.380 He is part of the alt-right.
00:23:32.720 And I think some things he said is really missing the point.
00:23:36.020 However, I think mockery and satire is also good because it calls out the nutcases and exposes them.
00:23:42.480 And quite frankly, it all gives us a laugh when all we want to do is go and burn the place down.
00:23:47.720 In fact, some of what Milo does keeps me from being the protesters on the street that burn stuff down.
00:23:53.680 Yeah, Doc on the clock tower.
00:23:54.900 Exactly.
00:23:55.460 Naked in the clock tower.
00:23:56.540 That's where I'd be if not for some satire.
00:23:58.400 So I understand what Glenn is saying, and he's right.
00:24:01.540 But it's not quite as bad in my world to have some people like that.
00:24:05.220 So having said that, he was supposed to speak.
00:24:06.660 He triggers people.
00:24:07.700 Yeah, he was supposed to speak.
00:24:09.040 Well, the anti-fas, which is something new I learned, which is anti-fascist protesters.
00:24:14.680 Anti-fas?
00:24:15.580 Fass.
00:24:16.200 Fass.
00:24:16.600 Shouldn't it be fash?
00:24:18.120 Anti-fash?
00:24:20.280 Okay, you guys have a fail right there.
00:24:22.560 And by the way, fascist was way too long.
00:24:24.760 We can't have that.
00:24:25.840 Yeah, that's way too long, Doc.
00:24:27.280 Come on, just keep it between three and four minutes.
00:24:29.080 It's the AF.
00:24:29.620 Yeah.
00:24:30.420 So basically, he goes in.
00:24:32.720 The protesters are just waiting, just like a normal protest.
00:24:35.100 But around about the time that he was supposed to go in and start talking, the protesters turned into what I call rioters.
00:24:42.880 They started launching those Roman candles towards the windows.
00:24:46.520 Yeah, I saw a bunch of fireworks and like, it even looked like road flares or something, too.
00:24:50.500 Yes, road flares.
00:24:51.680 They were knocking down the light fixtures to the floor.
00:24:54.680 Yeah, they took the whole light poles down.
00:24:56.620 I saw that.
00:24:57.240 Which, by the way, you're only hurting yourselves.
00:24:59.840 That's public money.
00:25:01.300 You douches.
00:25:02.040 Seriously, it's public money.
00:25:04.120 I mean, I even get it.
00:25:05.520 I mean, I don't agree with it.
00:25:06.680 But if you're like, I hate the corporations, let's go burn down one of their, but fine.
00:25:10.000 But that's yours.
00:25:11.660 They don't know how taxes.
00:25:12.760 Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute.
00:25:15.060 That isn't theirs because they don't pay taxes.
00:25:17.960 Okay.
00:25:18.300 Anyways, please continue.
00:25:19.120 Well, that wasn't a stop there.
00:25:20.700 They let it on fire.
00:25:22.180 Oh, good, good, good.
00:25:23.000 And then at the middle, the police had a retract, retreat, sorry, into the building, go to the second floor, and start giving warnings.
00:25:32.620 That's when the police say you got 10 minutes to disperse or we'll use force to arrest you.
00:25:38.420 And that's when they started using, I haven't confirmed this from the people that were on the ground, but they say they were like rubber bullets, tear gas, and some other things that they could not tell me what it was.
00:25:50.240 Okay, okay.
00:25:50.980 So you're there, you're, meaning the protesters that turned rioters, thugs, they're there exercising their First Amendment rights before they started being violent.
00:26:01.940 Yes.
00:26:02.440 Out there in the streets, you know, peaceful assembly, that type of thing.
00:26:05.480 So at that point, they were there exercising their First Amendment rights to try to stop somebody else's First Amendment rights.
00:26:14.260 Yes, yes.
00:26:14.860 Okay, good, good.
00:26:15.600 That doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.
00:26:18.040 So, see, that whole First Amendment thing covers multiple things, you people.
00:26:23.180 See, your First Amendment rights to peacefully assemble and protest also includes the First Amendment rights to speak and press and religion and redress of grievances, all of these things, right?
00:26:35.580 Milo was speaking.
00:26:36.780 He was an invited speaker.
00:26:37.760 He didn't crash the place, right?
00:26:39.040 Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
00:26:39.720 It wasn't like setting crashers.
00:26:41.160 No, he didn't.
00:26:41.860 One thing, too, I don't know if you know this, but Milo is a gay conservative.
00:26:46.880 Well, he calls himself gay conservative.
00:26:48.500 Wait a minute.
00:26:48.600 Milo's gay?
00:26:49.420 Milo Jopalopanis is gay.
00:26:52.600 Wow, okay.
00:26:53.840 I mean, none of that matters.
00:26:54.660 It's just shocking.
00:26:55.900 He doesn't come across gay at all.
00:26:57.500 Are you sure?
00:26:58.600 Okay, he may come across really gay.
00:27:00.280 Just okay.
00:27:00.340 Did you see that video I showed you where he was building the wall?
00:27:02.740 He's pretty effeminate, yeah.
00:27:03.860 Okay, all right.
00:27:04.900 So it turns out that he was escorted out, and he actually sent out a video, a five-minute video, and gave exclusives to Chris Tucker.
00:27:13.220 But he was kind of upset, and he was right.
00:27:16.460 You know, the left, once you start giving that freedom of speech or trying to challenge them, they challenge back.
00:27:23.240 But in a weird way, they kind of attack you and destroy their own stuff.
00:27:27.120 Well, and this is another way it's changed.
00:27:28.740 It used to be people protesting, upset, and whatever, but now it's, we want to stop you.
00:27:33.520 That's what our protest is about.
00:27:34.880 We want to completely make you not exist, not here.
00:27:37.380 And there's a bunch of people on the right that believe those things, too.
00:27:39.620 I know as part of this protest, they pulled at least one dude out of a car and beat the snot out of it.
00:27:43.360 Well, before we get to that, they destroyed a Starbucks once again.
00:27:47.520 Okay, wait a minute, wait a minute.
00:27:50.340 That's two.
00:27:51.220 These people are so not informed.
00:27:52.440 When I was out in D.C. covering the riots out there on Inauguration Day, which I posted all the videos on Facebook, Facebook Live, was huge.
00:28:01.580 They lit the car on fire, and I was right there.
00:28:03.720 They bashed in the windows of a Starbucks, and I'm like, guys, do you know who runs Starbucks?
00:28:09.480 Howard Schultz, who we're going to talk about later in this program as well.
00:28:12.300 So, Starbucks folks, you might want to be on notice.
00:28:15.380 Yeah, we're going to talk about it coming up.
00:28:16.560 But Howard Schultz believes, at least in part, like these people who were protesting, maybe not in the violence or whatever, but he's a leftist.
00:28:24.820 He's a progressive, and he's supported all kinds of progressive stuff.
00:28:27.640 If you look around protesters, he might be on Berkeley campus with you.
00:28:31.000 He could have been there.
00:28:31.840 He could have been there protesting.
00:28:33.640 Or his employees could have been there.
00:28:35.280 I guarantee at least some of his employees were at some of these protests.
00:28:38.960 So, they did that, and they also destroyed the Bank of America.
00:28:42.440 Okay, it seems, yeah, okay.
00:28:44.340 And then, let's fast forward to the middle of the night, kind of the end of the protest, slash riot.
00:28:49.660 They pulled this person out of the car and just beat the snot out of them.
00:28:55.480 Yeah, how is this you caring and being more caring than me?
00:29:00.400 Because that's what they keep saying, you know, we care more, we're doing this for all the people.
00:29:04.420 Is this just like collateral damage to them?
00:29:07.020 Is that how they view this?
00:29:08.040 Like, why would you single out that one person?
00:29:10.680 Right.
00:29:11.040 But, I mean, if they're saying that this, well, Doc, you know, in order to make our point and save the world, some people are, you know, the end doesn't justify the means.
00:29:18.820 But even if they want to make that point, did they believe the end justified the means in Iraq, in Afghanistan?
00:29:24.900 Because what do they keep saying to us?
00:29:26.260 You lost all these American lives, all this American money, and how many Iraqi lives?
00:29:29.700 The end doesn't justify the means.
00:29:31.240 So, you're being hypocrites there as well.
00:29:34.420 So, coming up, I want to talk a little bit more about how it's fashionable not only to protest, but also how it's fashionable to want the presidential powers limited.
00:29:42.920 Because throughout Obama's presidency, I said things like, hey, you got too much power in the White House there.
00:29:48.520 It's supposed to be a balance.
00:29:49.680 And they're like, you're just a racist, Doc.
00:29:52.140 And now they're like, hey, the president shouldn't have this much power.
00:29:55.660 Just two weeks after he was inaugurated.
00:29:58.640 We'll talk about that coming up.
00:29:59.700 We'll get some of your calls, 888-727-BECK.
00:30:03.460 That's coming up in just a minute.
00:30:04.680 But first, I want to ask you if you've heard about the report about gun sales.
00:30:08.240 They are shooting through the roof with some gun companies reporting earnings that are 66% over last year.
00:30:14.280 If you're like me and you own guns, yes, I do, do what I do and protect them with a Liberty Safe.
00:30:21.100 And by do what I do, I mean do what Glenn does, because I haven't gotten a Liberty Safe yet.
00:30:25.440 This is Glenn's copy.
00:30:26.440 This is his script here.
00:30:27.760 Glenn definitely has a Liberty Safe.
00:30:28.900 It's not that I don't want a Liberty Safe.
00:30:30.900 I just haven't gotten one yet.
00:30:33.000 It's the smart thing to do.
00:30:34.240 Glenn and his wife own five huge Liberty Safes.
00:30:37.020 They put things in them, most valuable stuff, not just guns.
00:30:39.660 I know Glenn has talked about putting his pictures and stuff like that.
00:30:42.320 My wife just started finally downloading pictures because she made a great point about it.
00:30:46.860 But these things are all electronic.
00:30:48.920 What if something happens?
00:30:49.860 We're not going to have them.
00:30:51.220 And so she downloads them on individual hard drives, not just on the cloud or something.
00:30:56.560 What's the other service that you have with that?
00:30:58.840 On the cloud?
00:30:59.440 Not just the cloud, but there's other services you can store them at that I think she has.
00:31:03.600 But what if something happens there?
00:31:05.620 So she does the hard drive, and then she's been printing them out.
00:31:08.840 And that's a great thing.
00:31:10.220 Glenn has stored his stuff like that, family memories in there.
00:31:13.200 Do your homework like Glenn did.
00:31:15.020 You'll find that Liberty Safes make great safes.
00:31:17.440 And right now, they're making $500 a day right here in America.
00:31:20.420 Every Liberty Safe comes with a lifetime warranty, and their customer service is number one.
00:31:25.120 Now you can save up to $250 off when you buy a Liberty Safe.
00:31:28.900 Go to LibertySafe.com.
00:31:30.520 The promo code is BECK.
00:31:32.260 I don't know why it's a different one from the last people.
00:31:34.780 Why wouldn't you use the same promo code?
00:31:36.360 It's just confusing.
00:31:37.660 But Liberty Safe, it's BECK, B-E-C-K.
00:31:40.320 The discounts are automatic, and matching mail-in rebates is also offered.
00:31:44.980 So for the best safes built on the planet, go to LibertySafes.com.
00:31:48.280 Type in BECK.
00:31:49.280 That's LibertySafes.com and BECK.
00:31:52.120 This is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:31:58.760 Mercury.
00:32:00.300 This is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:32:02.820 Hi there, it's Doc Thompson in for Glenn today, talking about things that have become fashionable again.
00:32:10.360 And one of the things that has now become fashionable, just starting two weeks ago today,
00:32:15.140 is wanting to limit presidential power.
00:32:17.800 Folks, during the prior administration, Obama administration, I wanted to limit presidential power.
00:32:25.500 Keep it in check.
00:32:26.520 And the administration before that, I wanted to limit it.
00:32:28.920 And the one before that, and the one before that, and the one before.
00:32:31.300 Even when I didn't exist in utero, when I was just a gleam, I still wanted to limit presidential powers, and I always will.
00:32:38.380 Without a balance of powers between the branches of government, we don't exist anymore.
00:32:43.360 And unfortunately, the balance of power between the federal government, the states, and the people has been out of whack for decades.
00:32:50.460 But that's the genius of our structure.
00:32:52.560 It's become fashionable now, all of a sudden, for so many people who are like,
00:32:55.720 Barack Obama can do whatever he wants because he's so smart, we'll just give him all the power in the world,
00:32:59.360 to now object to Trump.
00:33:01.360 And you're not being genuine here.
00:33:03.100 You're simply going with what you want to have accomplished.
00:33:06.380 You're not looking at the structure.
00:33:07.420 For example, you have the protests at UC Berkeley, two nights ago.
00:33:12.040 And Donald Trump tweets out, and I think smartly.
00:33:14.720 He's throwing a bomb here, but I think smartly.
00:33:17.300 He tweets, if UC Berkeley doesn't allow free speech and practices violence on innocent people with a different point of view,
00:33:26.940 no federal funds?
00:33:28.760 Question mark?
00:33:30.300 You know, maybe we don't give you the federal funds.
00:33:33.360 Well, UC Berkeley gets literally billions of dollars for student aid, medical needs, and research.
00:33:41.720 Billions of dollars.
00:33:43.380 So to hit him in the pocketbook is going to be effective.
00:33:46.640 And he doesn't even actually have to go through it, that he's just putting him on notice.
00:33:49.700 I'm not saying he wouldn't do it, but he's putting him on notice.
00:33:54.360 I'm fine with that.
00:33:55.400 That's within the power structure of the government.
00:33:57.960 He's not saying he's unilaterally going to do this, but he could suggest legislation.
00:34:02.580 He could come down on them.
00:34:03.600 There may be some things that he could limit the funds.
00:34:06.600 Good.
00:34:07.320 He's right.
00:34:08.760 You're telling us you have, we don't want you involved in campus, and campus should be free speech,
00:34:13.780 and we don't want outside cops, all of that stuff we've heard?
00:34:16.820 Well, then take care of it yourself.
00:34:18.660 Because my tax dollars, living in Arkansas, working sometimes in Texas,
00:34:24.040 are still going to pay for crap on campuses and places like UC Berkeley.
00:34:29.320 So get your crap together.
00:34:30.700 So, maybe we suggest that.
00:34:34.400 Now, by suggesting that, people went nuts.
00:34:38.520 How dare Donald Trump say that?
00:34:40.340 We need to limit presidential power.
00:34:43.140 Really?
00:34:44.180 Now you're concerned about limiting presidential power.
00:34:46.780 Well, Doc, Doc, Doc.
00:34:47.820 Yes, sir.
00:34:48.300 R.C. Chris.
00:34:48.980 Doc.
00:34:50.020 Do you want people taking money that is not yours?
00:34:53.040 No, not at all.
00:34:53.880 Okay, then what's up?
00:34:56.860 Why are you making?
00:34:57.620 No, I'm saying I don't want to take him at all, so maybe he uses this power, you know.
00:35:02.600 Yeah, but you've got to understand their perspective, you know.
00:35:05.600 Somebody's taking their money.
00:35:06.800 How are they going to go to school now?
00:35:08.040 They're not taking their money.
00:35:09.660 Doc, they have to go to school.
00:35:11.040 The protesters, they're not.
00:35:12.900 They have a soft life at the campus.
00:35:15.140 Oh, he's not getting it, Doc.
00:35:16.580 So Gavin Newsom, who is crazy, the former mayor of San Francisco, current lieutenant governor,
00:35:22.720 running for governor, tweeted out in response to Trump's tweet,
00:35:27.440 As a UC regent, I'm appalled at your willingness to deprive over 38,000 students access to an education
00:35:36.140 because of the actions of a few.
00:35:39.500 Do you realize how much hypocrisy he stuffed into 140 characters or less?
00:35:44.800 Do you realize how much crap he stuffed in there?
00:35:48.800 As a UC regent, what the hell does that matter?
00:35:53.840 I mean, you can't be appalled if you're a homemaker in Georgia or you sell sausages on the street in San Francisco.
00:36:02.640 Maybe a bad city to choose for that reference.
00:36:04.580 But regardless, right?
00:36:06.000 You have to be, as a UC regent, as somebody who let me go down my resume, lieutenant governor and running for governor,
00:36:12.620 where I, so that's the first failure.
00:36:15.480 I thought he was going to say UC Berkeley student, alumni.
00:36:20.140 Regent.
00:36:20.680 He's a regent.
00:36:21.340 As somebody who has a cushy job, let me share with you,
00:36:25.400 I'm appalled at your willingness to deprive 38,000 students access.
00:36:30.520 He's not depriving them.
00:36:32.240 They can still pay their own damn way.
00:36:34.860 They can still get money elsewhere.
00:36:36.500 They can get more money from the state.
00:36:39.560 You're not depriving them of access.
00:36:42.400 You're depriving them of tax dollars.
00:36:45.260 Get your crap together.
00:36:46.860 And then finally, access to an education.
00:36:50.140 Are they really being educated on the campus there?
00:36:53.060 I would call that BS and fake news by itself.
00:36:56.940 And then the Coupe de Gracie, because of the actions of a few.
00:37:01.940 Because of the actions of a few.
00:37:06.480 Huh.
00:37:07.620 He is somebody who is basically labeled in the past, anybody on the right, as crazy, racist, whatever.
00:37:13.660 And what is that based on?
00:37:15.560 The actions of a few.
00:37:18.840 The actions of a few?
00:37:20.340 Are you kidding me?
00:37:22.440 Wow.
00:37:22.840 This shows the level of hypocrisy and crazy.
00:37:25.920 But it doesn't stop there.
00:37:27.260 Oh, there's still much more to come when it comes to the hypocrisy and what is now fashionable.
00:37:32.860 Specifically around the riots the other night on the campus of UC Berkeley.
00:37:36.380 Also coming up, we're going to be discussing the hashtag Hire 10,000 Veterans.
00:37:40.940 That's the numbers, not spelled out.
00:37:43.020 Hire 10,000 Veterans.
00:37:44.820 Click on it on Twitter so you know what we're going to be talking about.

00:38:31.220 Because we are one.
00:38:33.100 I will beat my drum.
00:38:35.340 I have made my choice.
00:38:37.620 We will overcome.
00:38:39.880 Because we are one.
00:38:41.960 The fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.
00:38:45.780 This is the Glenn Beck Program.
00:38:49.360 Hi there.
00:38:52.120 I'm Doc Thompson.
00:38:52.920 Regularly heard on the Blaze Radio Network.

00:39:08.920 Click on channels and doc.
00:39:10.620 And just follow the channel if you would.
00:39:12.440 On Twitter, it's hashtag what I learned today.
00:39:14.620 And it's at Doc Thompson's show.
00:39:15.760 We'll get some of those coming up.
00:39:16.960 But I want to touch a little bit more on what we said about Donald Trump tweeting out that maybe UC Berkeley are suggesting or questioning if they should be defunded.
00:39:24.960 If they shouldn't get those federal tax dollars anymore.
00:39:27.460 I think that is a reasonable question.
00:39:29.220 A reasonable tweet.
00:39:30.620 And I like that he's poking them.
00:39:32.460 It is long past due that academia in America be challenged on their nuttiness.
00:39:37.360 For these people who years ago used to tell us, okay, listen.
00:39:41.640 You've learned all this conservative stuff.
00:39:43.720 It's 1950s.
00:39:44.720 1950s.
00:39:45.300 Going into the 60s.
00:39:46.860 It's time you get exposed to some alternative ideas.
00:39:50.540 You know, your ideas, if they're solid enough, ought to be able to take it.
00:39:53.360 We just want all things here to enlighten and educate you.
00:39:57.540 That's what they told us during the 60s.
00:39:59.600 And now, it's not about let's hear all voices and sides.
00:40:04.280 It's like if you have anything other than an extremist progressive agenda, then you are shut down.
00:40:10.660 Sometimes beat down, as we saw the other night in Berkeley.
00:40:13.580 So, this is certainly reasonable to say, maybe you shouldn't get federal dollars.
00:40:19.880 It's my tax dollars, too.
00:40:21.840 Maybe they shouldn't go to this nuttiness.
00:40:24.080 I think that's reasonable.
00:40:25.480 For Gavin Newsom to come out and say that Donald Trump just wants to, what, take away people's access to college and whatnot.
00:40:34.000 Yeah.
00:40:34.220 Because of the actions of a few people.
00:40:37.520 It shows his hypocrisy.
00:40:41.940 Gavin Newsom tweeted, was this just 11 hours ago?
00:40:44.640 11 hours ago, yes.
00:40:45.720 What was his tweet just 11 hours ago?
00:40:47.500 He tweets out, the spy list of the GOP continues as they pander to the NRA and move to weaken our background check system.
00:40:57.440 So, he's questioning gun use in America.
00:41:01.220 And he's been a rabid anti-gun person forever.
00:41:04.340 Okay.
00:41:05.240 Why does he support additional gun laws, banning guns, common sense solutions?
00:41:11.800 What are the solutions to?
00:41:13.240 Of all the rhetoric about guns, what is the basis for it?
00:41:16.680 From him and everybody on the list.
00:41:18.380 Why do they say, we need gun legislation?
00:41:21.540 What is their argument?
00:41:23.820 It comes down to what?
00:41:25.080 Shootings.
00:41:26.320 The mass shootings individual.
00:41:28.280 They say that because of the mass shootings, we must have additional gun legislation.
00:41:34.000 How many people in America have shot a gun at somebody?
00:41:38.580 Hit somebody with a gun?
00:41:39.420 Killed them with a gun?
00:41:40.560 How many gun owners, like legal gun owners, have done that?
00:41:45.540 It's infinitesimal the number of people that have killed somebody, shot somebody.
00:41:49.880 The legal gun owners that have done this.
00:41:52.360 So, you're talking about the actions of a very few.
00:41:56.320 So, when it comes to the protesters out there, Gavin Newsom wants to give them a pass to burn the place down.
00:42:02.140 It's just the actions of a few.
00:42:06.040 But when a couple of nutcases shoot people, all legal gun owners then have to have their gun rights in question.
00:42:13.820 Isn't that also the actions of a few?
00:42:15.380 Yeah, and he actually says that the NRA is at fault for the Baton Rouge police shootings.
00:42:22.460 Wait, the NRA is at fault?
00:42:23.700 Yes.
00:42:24.620 Is everybody in America a member of the NRA?
00:42:28.260 I don't think so.
00:42:29.600 So, the NRA, even if that was accurate, which it's not, would still be the actions of a, what's the word I'm looking for?
00:42:36.540 Few.
00:42:37.260 Few.
00:42:37.420 Few.
00:42:39.620 Does anybody else call these people on this stuff?
00:42:43.220 Wow.
00:42:43.780 Okay.
00:42:44.480 But it doesn't stop there.
00:42:46.460 Nancy Pelosi went off on Donald Trump.
00:42:49.560 She said Berkeley is the center of the free speech movement.
00:42:53.060 Okay.
00:42:54.460 Berkeley's the center of the free.
00:42:55.740 Berkeley, I'm thinking of some cities like Lexington, Concord, places like, hey, Richmond, Virginia at St. John's Church with Patrick Henry.
00:43:08.000 All of these, wouldn't that be the center of the free speech?
00:43:10.540 Or if you want to take it to ancient freedoms and democracies, you can go to Greece or places like this.
00:43:17.280 Cicero, the great philosopher.
00:43:19.920 Berkeley is the center.
00:43:20.920 Now, does she mean the modern free speech movement?
00:43:24.600 Wouldn't that be any other place?
00:43:26.840 She's clearly living in the 60s with this crap.
00:43:29.340 And by 60s, for Nancy, I mean 1860s.
00:43:33.260 And by 1860s, I mean B.C.
00:43:37.720 She said Berkeley is the center of the free speech movement.
00:43:39.760 I think that the protesters have a right to free speech as well.
00:43:43.740 Anybody object to that?
00:43:45.140 Do protesters have a right to free speech?
00:43:47.400 Yeah.
00:43:47.960 Yes, exactly.
00:43:50.920 She might be missing the big story here.
00:43:52.740 Yeah, they turned to something else.
00:43:54.720 Yeah.
00:43:55.440 She said if there's an infiltration of the crowd by those that are less than peaceful, that should be addressed.
00:44:03.500 Do you disagree with that?
00:44:05.000 Nope.
00:44:05.760 Wasn't Donald Trump addressing that?
00:44:07.980 Yes.
00:44:08.700 So what's with the tweet, Nancy?
00:44:11.080 Barbara Lee, she is the Democrat representative from Oakland, California area, that district.
00:44:18.160 She said Berkeley has a proud history of dissent, and students were fully within their rights to protest peacefully.
00:44:24.840 You're right.
00:44:25.960 Key word there.
00:44:27.120 Peacefully.
00:44:28.480 She then said, however, however, I am disappointed by the unacceptable acts of violence last night, which were counterproductive and dangerous.
00:44:40.280 True.
00:44:40.760 Yeah.
00:44:41.960 Are you, what are you going to do about it, Babs?
00:44:45.620 Yeah, I mean, same thing, Nancy.
00:44:46.860 Okay, there were a few.
00:44:48.980 Gavin Newsom.
00:44:50.340 Can you at least address the few?
00:44:52.920 None of them want to address the few.
00:44:55.060 Are you going to round these people up and prosecute them?
00:44:57.300 In other words, they're more concerned about protecting the rights of the others than punishing those people.
00:45:05.540 And guess what?
00:45:06.400 I'm willing to, Trump, me, everybody else, nobody's questioning the rights of those people.
00:45:11.740 Wow.
00:45:13.500 Babs Lee went on to say, President Donald Trump cannot bully our university into silence.
00:45:19.660 Actually, he can.
00:45:21.000 He just did.
00:45:22.560 And he's going to do more of it, and I'm going to support it.
00:45:25.260 They call it the bully pulpit, and you were fine when Obama did it.
00:45:28.760 She said, simply put, President Trump's empty threat.
00:45:32.300 This is going to be funny.
00:45:33.840 This is going to be funny.
00:45:34.940 Because if this crap keeps up, you're going to see, I don't think he's, I don't think it's an empty threat.
00:45:40.140 And I may not support something that he would do that's, well, I wouldn't support something that's unconstitutional.
00:45:45.200 But he may do something that is questionable beyond his powers, and I'll speak against it.
00:45:49.740 But I will take joy in the fact that she'll be proven wrong.
00:45:54.820 President Trump's empty threat to cut funding from UC Berkeley is an abuse of power.
00:45:59.180 As long as he doesn't violate the Constitution, it is not.
00:46:02.000 She said, President Trump doesn't have a license to blackmail universities.
00:46:07.280 Wait a minute.
00:46:10.500 I'm not prepared to bust out the B word there.
00:46:13.500 Yeah, I missed that.
00:46:14.080 Let's even say extort universities.
00:46:16.740 Yeah, extort is better.
00:46:18.280 I would think that a Democrat member of Congress and a black Democrat member of Congress should know better than to use a word like blackmail.
00:46:27.420 We prefer extort.
00:46:30.360 Extort universities.
00:46:31.320 She said, he's the president, not a dictator, and his empty threats are an abuse of power.
00:46:36.860 Boy, I wish she would have applied those same standards the last eight years.
00:46:39.420 Another rep, Mark DeSavio, whatever the hell his name is.
00:46:43.180 While we do not condone violence, what's going to follow that?
00:46:49.080 What gem is going to follow that?
00:46:51.200 Is there any, while we don't condone violence.
00:46:53.700 But I support.
00:46:55.020 The idea of protesters threatening to strip the world's leading public institution
00:46:59.860 and research facility of feds is, of funds is foolish.
00:47:04.100 Okay, while I, while we do not condone violence, the only thing really acceptable to follow that is, and this is, you really shouldn't tie them together.
00:47:14.320 But in this case, it's a stretch.
00:47:16.300 We don't condone violence, but we don't want to limit free speech.
00:47:20.580 We don't want to infringe somebody's freedoms.
00:47:22.940 You know, okay, maybe it's rare that anything would follow it.
00:47:26.080 But he doesn't say that.
00:47:27.500 Threatening to strip the world's leading public institution or research facility of funds is foolish.
00:47:31.260 Leading world.
00:47:33.100 Yeah, leading, of course.
00:47:34.000 It's the best, of course, because he's from California.
00:47:36.900 Adam Schiff, who's a Republican member of, or a Democrat member of Congress, said,
00:47:41.360 Hey, tweeted, Hey, at GOP leader, that's Kevin McCarthy, who's in leadership for the Republicans.
00:47:49.060 Real question, are you going to let real Donald Trump take away UC funding in a temper tantrum?
00:47:55.740 Asking for all Californians.
00:47:58.400 Temper tantrum?
00:47:59.140 And you might be missing the big story here.
00:48:02.400 You're more concerned what Trump said in this thing.
00:48:04.960 Okay.
00:48:05.840 That seems like they're missing the point just a little bit.
00:48:08.560 Well, if they talk about temper tantrum, didn't the riot, the protesters had a bigger temper tantrum?
00:48:14.180 Yeah, there seemed to be some.
00:48:15.340 Just a little bit bigger than Trump's temper tantrum?
00:48:17.800 No, here's the thing.
00:48:18.880 They weren't, it wasn't a temper tantrum for them.
00:48:20.780 Oh, okay.
00:48:21.380 For them, they were exercising their free speech rights to protect all people.
00:48:25.500 Okay.
00:48:26.480 With destruction.
00:48:26.860 Trump is a temper tantrum, clearly.
00:48:28.220 With destruction.
00:48:28.480 Absolutely.
00:48:29.140 Okay, got it.
00:48:30.000 So here's what we're going to do.
00:48:30.780 We're going to get a break in and we're going to come back to some of your calls.
00:48:32.880 It's 888-727-BECK.
00:48:34.880 And some of your tweets, it's hashtag what I learned today, at Doc Thompson's show.
00:48:38.660 If you want to tweet at Chris, who's joining me today, he's regularly part of my morning broadcast on the Blaze Radio Network.
00:48:43.600 It's at RC underscore Chris.
00:48:46.340 And he has a week, week, like 5,000 following on Twitter.
00:48:50.580 Yeah.
00:48:51.420 At RC underscore Chris.
00:48:52.840 Wow, thanks.
00:48:53.740 Maybe help a brother out.
00:48:54.560 Thanks.
00:48:54.800 I'm just saying.
00:48:56.160 I'm trying to help a brother out.
00:48:57.440 Well, the Blaze heard you and they just put it up.
00:48:59.520 Okay, good.
00:48:59.920 Appreciate that.
00:49:00.980 I want to tell you quick about Goldline.
00:49:02.500 Glenn has talked about Goldline for years.
00:49:04.160 I know he's been a sponsor of this program.
00:49:06.060 And I've heard it and really just never made the decision to call.
00:49:10.060 I'm like, I know I got to do some different things.
00:49:11.780 I've got to get some gold, diversify all of this stuff.
00:49:14.080 And I've just never done it.
00:49:15.200 Literally, right before the first of the year, between the holidays, I went online and I ordered the free information.
00:49:22.380 It came.
00:49:23.060 I started going through it.
00:49:24.160 I got a follow-up call just a couple of days ago about it.
00:49:26.860 And I'm going to make some decisions.
00:49:28.740 But it's just one of those things you put off, you hear over and over again.
00:49:31.780 The reason I finally decided was because I know I have to do some things differently in the coming years.
00:49:36.860 If you look at a bunch of different researchers out there, some names that we've had on the show, Glenn has had other people,
00:49:43.740 a lot of them say that there's a lot of volatility possibly coming.
00:49:48.080 The stock market's over 20%.
00:49:49.720 These are just different indicators.
00:49:51.820 There's never 100% when it comes to investing.
00:49:53.860 We know that.
00:49:54.680 But some indicators say that there could be some troubles down the road.
00:49:57.720 You never know for sure.
00:49:59.620 Traditionally, when the stock market goes up, it's going to come down at some point.
00:50:04.360 You know as a new president comes in and tries to do things, sometimes, you know, it takes a dip for a while.
00:50:10.300 So you have to be aware.
00:50:11.520 And getting the information from Goldline is just going to prepare you.
00:50:14.480 So I made that commitment between the holidays to do some different things.
00:50:18.520 And that's the reason I ended up calling Goldline.
00:50:20.380 Glenn speaks very favorably to them, even off the air.
00:50:23.740 When I talk to Glenn about it, he's like, yeah, absolutely.
00:50:26.440 That's somebody you need to call because they'll walk you through the steps there.
00:50:29.200 So Goldline is proud to be the exclusive dealer of the first encapsulated square coin, the legal tender unit.
00:50:36.420 And I like them because they don't roll off the table.
00:50:38.960 That's my big push here.
00:50:40.180 I'm looking for coins that don't roll.
00:50:42.280 The legal tender unit contains one tenth ounce of gold bullion.
00:50:45.560 Goldline collaborated with the Perth Mint on the design of the legal tender unit.
00:50:49.720 Now, the legal tender unit offers the same benefits as legal tender coin, but the square shape.
00:50:54.780 Each unit is individually sealed for protection and optimum flexibility in purchasing, bartering, or gifting down the road.
00:51:00.440 Orders of ten legal tender units will be delivered in a limited edition barter tube, a rugged snap front container that secures up to ten legal tender units for easy access and distribution.
00:51:10.600 If you want more information on this or any of the other services Goldline provides, what you want to do is dial 866-GOLDLINE.
00:51:17.620 It's that simple.
00:51:18.440 I did it between the holidays.
00:51:19.880 They took my information and sent it out.
00:51:21.600 It's no pressure, but they give you all the information.
00:51:23.860 That number again, I'll give it to you two times.
00:51:25.880 It's 866-GOLDLINE.
00:51:28.360 That's 866-GOLDLINE.
00:51:33.600 The key to having a great day starts with having a great night's sleep, and I know because I have a Casper mattress.
00:51:44.420 The Casper mattress was invented with two high-tech foams that give you all of the support that you need and guarantee that you get the best night's sleep ever.
00:51:53.360 Time Magazine named Casper mattress one of the best inventions of 2015.

00:52:05.240 And you try it for 100 nights risk-free.
00:52:07.680 They'll come and pick it up if you don't love it as much as I love mine, and they'll refund every single dime.
00:52:13.520 Once you try it, you're never going to want to sleep on anything else.
00:52:17.120 Having a great day by having a great night's sleep.

00:52:28.500 The promo code is GLEN.
00:52:29.840 Don't forget, $50 off the purchase of your mattress.
00:52:33.120 Casper.com slash GLEN.
00:52:35.420 Terms and conditions do apply.
00:52:37.740 The Glenn Beck Program.
00:52:40.400 All right, I've been putting them off phone calls now.
00:52:42.540 Let's go 888-727-BECK-LINE-44.
00:52:46.360 It's George in Pennsylvania.
00:52:47.520 How are you?
00:52:48.880 Hey, good morning.
00:52:50.320 Good morning, Doc.
00:52:51.120 How are you, sir?
00:52:53.000 Absolutely lovely.
00:52:54.340 Hey, last night on the panel segment of Special Report on Fox News, there was one of the panelists that said there was a report coming out of Berkeley that the administration had set up a free speech and protest zone.
00:53:11.020 The police were there to manage the situation, and they did a great job of it.
00:53:16.220 It did not get violent until about 115 people dressed in black showed up and started trashing the place.
00:53:24.120 Right.
00:53:24.240 This may well be a case of a rent-a-bop coming in and causing problems, and I have not heard this anywhere else, so you may want to see if you can verify it.
00:53:32.320 You know what, George, and I'm glad you brought this up, and thank you so much for the call.
00:53:36.100 Well, here's the reason I believe that, George, is because I was in D.C. when those protests happened on Inauguration Day, and it was virtually the same scenario.
00:53:45.220 Most of the people that were out there looked like the average people that either agreed or disagreed with President Trump or other issues.
00:53:51.680 A lot of them were progressive or liberal.
00:53:53.900 Standing out there, they were just the masses and, in many cases, the useful idiots.
00:53:58.320 They might have been pushing it a little bit here and there, but it was the people in black.
00:54:03.260 They had the masks, the hoodies, whatever.
00:54:05.640 You could tell they knew what they were doing, and they had some training, the way they were pulling up bricks and breaking them in half so they could throw rocks at the cops.
00:54:12.340 They knew just what buttons to push to get away with stuff and to create more of a crowd and to try to gin the crowd up.
00:54:20.100 Now, I suspected those people were shipped in because later that night, I mean, they set cars on fire on K Street, and you could see the videos.
00:54:30.180 So I went out later that night after I did some stuff with Conservative Review, and I go to some of the balls and I see protesters.
00:54:37.820 The people in black aren't there.
00:54:39.180 The protesters are just more with signs, kind of giving people elbows as they walk by, but it wasn't like battling cops.
00:54:46.220 So these are likely, if they are shipped in, they're going to have ties to one of those leftist groups that you know about.
00:54:53.580 Some of them may be directly or indirectly connected with the George Soroses.
00:54:58.620 We don't know.
00:54:59.100 Maybe, you know, we've heard that.
00:55:00.720 It wouldn't shock me.
00:55:02.440 But if that's the case, I cannot still excuse them, nor can I excuse the actions of the people that supported those nuts out there,
00:55:09.840 because where were the peaceful protesters standing in their way, and finally, where is Nancy Pelosi and Gavin Newsom
00:55:16.680 and Representative Barbara Lee saying, we need to investigate those organizations that may be shipping them in there?
00:55:24.680 If they're causing trouble, if they're a public hazard like this, then absolutely they should be investigating them.
00:55:30.900 But they don't, because they like it.
00:55:33.760 They secretly like that dissension.
00:55:36.600 They want the George Soroses funding all of these organizations, because it helps them push their message and keeps them in power.
00:55:43.460 And that's the truth.
00:55:44.460 More calls now.
00:55:45.220 Holly in Oklahoma, how are you?
00:55:47.700 Hello, thank you for taking my phone call.
00:55:49.740 Thank you for calling.
00:55:50.520 I'm going to tell you, as I sit here in Oklahoma, and I watch all this stuff on YouTube and mainstream media, the whole nine yards,
00:55:56.900 what absolutely infuriates me the most is these idiots are driving up my insurance rates in Oklahoma.
00:56:03.920 Every time they riot and protest, no individual goes in and pays for that damage.
00:56:09.760 It's filed on an insurance claim.
00:56:12.060 And I'm stuck paying the bills because these idiots don't want to get a job and have something better to do.
00:56:16.580 That's a great, that's a marvelous point, Holly.
00:56:18.480 So again, not just the funds that go into the college and our tax dollars and then police forces and funding that is shared by all of us for all different agencies that get money.
00:56:26.900 It's also insurance rates.
00:56:28.240 We're paying for this.
00:56:29.940 Yes.
00:56:30.560 Holly, what part of Oklahoma are you in?
00:56:32.700 I am in the northeastern part of Oklahoma.
00:56:35.020 The part I'm in is called Green Country.
00:56:36.680 I'm a suburb of Tulsa.
00:56:37.600 I understand.
00:56:38.120 I live in northwest Arkansas, so I'm Bentonville, Fayetteville area, so we're neighbors there.
00:56:41.860 Thanks so much, Holly.
00:56:42.640 Appreciate you calling today.
00:56:44.060 All right, we'll get some tweets as well with the hashtag, what I learned today.
00:56:46.540 Cal, spinning the dials radio style for us today.
00:56:48.500 What's going on on the Twitter?
00:56:50.760 Croc Zombie tweets.
00:56:51.800 Doc Thompson judges women and more than likely other sorts of people by their appearance.
00:56:56.340 Hashtag fat women.
00:56:57.360 Okay, hang on a second.
00:56:58.300 Hang on.
00:56:59.280 Yes.
00:56:59.740 Yes, I do.
00:57:00.480 How dare you.
00:57:00.840 Yes, I do.
00:57:01.360 And by the way, so do you.
00:57:03.740 And so does everybody.
00:57:04.980 Of course you judge people on their, I'm not saying that you're saying they're bad people,
00:57:08.740 but yes, you're constantly judging people.
00:57:11.140 You don't walk through the store and you're like, wow, that guy is huge.
00:57:13.960 And by the way, I'm being judged and I judge myself on it.
00:57:16.820 I do no such thing.
00:57:17.940 It doesn't mean they're bad people.
00:57:19.620 I'm not saying they, you know, they can't be president or I wouldn't hire them or something because of it,
00:57:23.880 but we all do.
00:57:24.700 Yeah, sure.
00:57:25.560 Sheena Fouts tweeted, my 12-year-old digs what's now fashionable from Doc Thompson,
00:57:29.560 Joe Finley and Frank Glenn Black this morning.
00:57:31.360 He's awesome, she said.
00:57:32.700 Thank you.
00:57:33.200 Thank you for noticing.
00:57:34.300 I'm big with people who can't vote or buy, program, or support our sponsors.
00:57:39.180 Oh, very nice.
00:57:40.000 He said, six years, we're going to be good.
00:57:42.040 Six years.
00:57:43.140 Planting the seeds now.
00:57:44.680 Don't worry, Goldline, everybody else.
00:57:46.120 You're going to be on.
00:57:47.460 He'll be investing in six years.
00:57:48.140 It's called indoctrination.
00:57:49.240 No, it's called early investing.
00:57:50.900 We're planting the seeds to grow our audience.
00:57:53.180 Carl Bailey tweets, Doc Thompson show, what I learned today, rush is right.
00:57:57.180 The feminist movement exists so ugly women can get dates.
00:58:01.260 Wow, that's really, hang on, wait.
00:58:03.640 That's really true.
00:58:05.080 That's really accurate.
00:58:05.900 That's a big, yep, that's, mm-hmm.
00:58:09.880 I wonder what your wife thinks about the things that you say.
00:58:12.680 She knows it's true, too.
00:58:15.520 And my wife is attractive, so she doesn't have to worry about such things.
00:58:18.540 But let me ask you this.
00:58:20.200 How many, by percentage, what percent of the women at the Women's March,
00:58:25.660 when was that, a week ago tomorrow?
00:58:27.800 I don't think a week ago, two weeks ago tomorrow, two weeks ago tomorrow.
00:58:30.260 Would you look at and go, all right, yes, yes.
00:58:34.820 Yes, I mean, you, I thought I heard you saying something like,
00:58:39.920 want me a piece of that.
00:58:42.140 I believe that was the term you used.
00:58:43.640 I know it was in single digits.
00:58:45.880 I'm not sure it was actually one.
00:58:47.440 There were a handful.
00:58:49.160 You know, you got a couple.
00:58:50.140 I mean, there's the vegans out there.
00:58:51.720 They're real thin.
00:58:52.500 I also heard you like the hats, the pink hats.
00:58:54.460 You were fond of those.
00:58:55.160 Pink hats, they were, yeah.
00:58:56.040 I mean, the vegans are real thin, so that kind of sways it in their favor.
00:58:59.480 But outside of the vegans, there's a very small percentage that you're wanting to,
00:59:04.080 you know, you're looking at, like, all right, I, you know, as a single man, maybe I.
00:59:08.080 If I was drunk enough.
00:59:09.940 Yeah, there's not, there's not enough liquor for, like, 85% of them.
00:59:13.060 If I, you slip me a roofie, there's not enough liquor.
00:59:15.460 Hi there, it's Doc Thompson in for Glenn Beck today.
00:59:31.260 Thanks so much for joining us.
00:59:32.240 Cal is with me for my morning broadcast at the Blaze Radio Network.
00:59:36.340 And Chris Cruz joins us as well.
00:59:38.800 We've been talking about some of the protests.
00:59:40.820 And, yeah, you had the Women's March just two weeks ago tomorrow.
00:59:43.920 And there are all kinds of protests that are going to be happening over the next couple of months.
00:59:49.400 And I tell you this because if you're a capitalist, you got to get out there and make some cash off of this.
00:59:53.860 I'm planning a couple things now.
00:59:55.300 This is, in some ways, equivalent to the Tea Party movement.
00:59:59.640 They haven't given them a unifying name, but everybody and their mom is going to be protesting in the next few months.
01:00:04.120 And there's a couple of really big ones scheduled for April, May, June.
01:00:09.660 I mean, as it warms up, they're going to have more because, you know, these people are snowflakes, right?
01:00:13.640 And they don't, I'm too sensitive to march in the cold, that type of thing.
01:00:17.140 But I am not kidding you.
01:00:18.680 Coming up on Earth Day, April 22nd in Washington, D.C., I'm not kidding.
01:00:23.540 There is going to be a scientists' march.
01:00:29.760 Yes, a march of scientists.
01:00:34.660 Cal, do we have something on the march of scientists?
01:00:36.380 I apologize.
01:00:39.200 It's not playing on my side.
01:00:40.640 I'm having a technical issue.
01:00:42.280 Okay.
01:00:42.840 Well, maybe we move on and get some more tweets.
01:00:45.180 All right.
01:00:45.400 It's at Doc Thompson, Joe, and at RC underscore Chris, and at KAL 79, Cal 79.
01:00:53.640 We had I am K Smooth asking, did George Soros fund the riots in Berkeley?
01:00:58.740 It's always a question, and it's always a pretty good bet in my book.
01:01:04.340 Here's somebody asking, why does Glenn say Milo is alt-right?
01:01:07.240 Never heard him say anything racist.
01:01:10.040 Here's the thing about the alt-right, when we discussed it earlier.
01:01:13.000 There's not one defining description.
01:01:17.420 There's not one definition of them.
01:01:19.240 We talked to them, actually, in our morning show, I think it was like, what, three, four months ago?
01:01:24.520 Unmute, unmute.
01:01:25.480 Yeah, we did talk to them a few months ago, some people who tried to explain it to us, and even they couldn't.
01:01:30.580 Yeah, we talked to them, and he was really interesting, especially the whole white supremacy and all that stuff.
01:01:37.340 But we tried to talk to them again, and they kind of were like, oh, no, we don't want to talk.
01:01:41.360 We disbanded, actually.
01:01:42.720 Remember, we had that conversation.
01:01:44.320 The whole organization disbanded.
01:01:46.560 There's not, I mean, there's some things you can kind of point to, and even that's kind of loose.
01:01:51.240 It's a label, it's more of the general idea.
01:01:54.520 If you look at the people that are, I would say, more aggressive, willing to overlook certain flaws or failures, there is a racial component.
01:02:04.780 It doesn't necessarily mean that everybody who identifies as alt-right with some of the other stuff is a racist.
01:02:09.460 I would say probably the nationalist and populist movements, either in the traditional sense, if you look historically, or maybe their modern take on it, something like that, sure.
01:02:20.180 So a couple of weeks ago, we saw a story that a college, and I can't remember what college it is, has a program where they want to teach people on college campus what consent is and is not when having sex.
01:02:39.180 I think it's pretty simple.
01:02:41.080 Consent is, yeah, or some action or movement, you know, saying, yeah, let's do this, right?
01:02:49.400 And not consent is, no.
01:02:51.920 Little gray line with the whole seduction thing, and sometimes people say no, but they're just kind of being playful and want to respect themselves that they at least said no once.
01:03:00.480 You know, whatever, girls, I don't get you.
01:03:02.200 But, I mean, it becomes pretty clear to most of us.
01:03:05.440 So they said, we need to teach a course on this as part of a series of courses on consent.
01:03:12.680 Wow, you're really doing this wrong.
01:03:14.200 This is what colleges are today.
01:03:16.480 And in order to teach this, they were going to use ordering a pizza.
01:03:20.200 A felt pizza.
01:03:21.380 Yeah, that you would make a little felt pizza, and you'd act as a person ordering pizza like,
01:03:25.420 Do you want sausage?
01:03:29.920 Do you want pepperoni?
01:03:33.720 I'll take some pineapple in my place.
01:03:35.480 No, dude, pineapple's just freaky, okay?
01:03:37.460 I don't know what kind of weird, freaky stuff you're into.
01:03:39.740 Pineapple.
01:03:40.140 Anchovies, then?
01:03:40.560 No, no, definitely.
01:03:41.520 No means no.
01:03:44.220 So they would use the two.
01:03:45.780 So we had this hashtag, and had fun with it a couple days ago.
01:03:47.940 It's still probably up.
01:03:49.540 Hashtag how sex is like pizza.
01:03:52.600 Is that it?
01:03:52.940 How sex is like pizza.
01:03:53.480 How sex is like pizza, yes.
01:03:54.520 And we had fun with it, and people made their jokes, and there were some very inappropriate things.
01:03:58.900 And then all of a sudden, later at night, after our show is well over, it starts trending.
01:04:03.320 And we start looking at them.
01:04:05.460 The Pizzagate people had co-opted it.
01:04:08.260 You know the Pizzagate that were real deep in the Hillary Clinton pedophile ring out of cosmic pizza,
01:04:13.940 cosmic bowling, whatever that was in D.C.?
01:04:16.500 Which, okay, there was some hinky things about that, but they took it to crazy conspiracy town,
01:04:21.380 and these people were tweeting the most offensive pictures about, like, abusing women and rape and human trafficking and stuff like this.
01:04:31.480 And I guess it was the equivalent of if you are an anti-abortion person,
01:04:37.260 and you put up the big aborted fetus that's graphic to try to disgust people.
01:04:42.740 But it was crazy.
01:04:44.180 It's almost like some of them are, like, into it.
01:04:46.660 Was that how you felt when you saw them?
01:04:48.140 Yeah, because when I texted you, I was like, hey, why are we trending again?
01:04:51.660 It's been, like, 14, 16 hours.
01:04:54.260 And when I was sort of looking at them, I said, whoa, this is not something that usually happens to us.
01:04:58.140 The Pizzagate people are crazy.
01:05:00.040 They are.
01:05:00.140 And I think some of those people are more inclined to be the alt-righty people.
01:05:05.020 Okay, back to the march that's coming up on April 22nd, which I probably will be there.
01:05:09.940 It's the Scientist March.
01:05:12.100 Of risk, after witnessing the sheer size of the Women's March on Washington.
01:05:19.700 Now, set your phasers for fun.
01:05:22.580 Nerd-a-palooza 2017.
01:05:25.140 The scientific march on Washington is coming.
01:05:27.780 Rerouting the power of the masses through the forward phase conduit.
01:05:31.360 And right down Wisconsin Avenue.
01:05:33.620 Here's march organizer, Dr. Earl Pimento.
01:05:36.260 Seeing people wearing female genitalia and actually seeing that for the first time got us thinking.
01:05:43.840 Maybe we could finally score if we had a march as well.
01:05:47.400 Yes, to boldly go, we're only a hand full of us have gone before.
01:05:52.600 10 to the second, maybe even more if X equals a covalent of 12.
01:05:55.920 Of respected scientists from every walk of academia.
01:06:00.320 All dressed as their favorite superhero.
01:06:02.080 Carrying signs such as, nerds against swirlies.
01:06:06.580 I want my lunch money back.
01:06:08.280 And the ever-popular, free Schrodinger's cats.
01:06:11.780 Nerd-a-palooza 2017.
01:06:13.780 Will become a scientific force.
01:06:15.720 Proportional to the product of the two masses and inversely proportional to the distance between them.
01:06:19.980 Solving the scientific questions we all want answers to.
01:06:23.100 Like if sea levels were actually rising, why did Al Gore buy an oceanfront mansion?
01:06:27.520 Why hasn't Sheila Lee Jackson's head collapsed from the obvious vacuum inside?
01:06:32.340 Please note, this is not a black hole joke.
01:06:34.160 Black holes matter, densely.
01:06:35.700 And who would win?
01:06:37.140 Alien or Batman?
01:06:38.480 Or Spock?
01:06:39.420 Plus, see a special screening on the National Mall of the latest in the global warming series, Sharknado Inside the Vortex.
01:06:47.720 On the giant inflatable screen filled with hot air that looks like a giant boob.
01:06:53.060 Yes, the screen looks exactly like Chuck Schumer.
01:06:56.400 And thanks to our corporate sponsor, be sure to get your free slice of never-ending pie, starting at 3.14.
01:07:03.300 Tell your eidetic memory to mentally circle the month of March 2017 for the Scientific Walk on Washington.
01:07:10.780 Endothermic or exothermic blow-up barbies sold separately.
01:07:14.480 That's how I imagine the Scientist March will go.
01:07:17.600 That's what I think it'll be like.
01:07:19.540 We'll see.
01:07:19.840 I'll be out there the 22nd in April because I'm not a scientist, but I am a capitalist.
01:07:23.500 And I'm going to go big on the 22nd because Daddy needs some cash.
01:07:28.820 That's what's going to happen here.
01:07:30.360 You know, if you want the solution, because one of the things I keep doing on the morning show now is to offer solutions with all this stuff.
01:07:35.520 So we told you about the different protesters that turned into rioters and what's going on.
01:07:39.260 We told you the hypocrisies and the failures of people on the left and how to get that done and accomplished.
01:07:43.040 But the solution to the actual rioting is this.
01:07:47.000 Although police have done, in many cases, pretty good jobs from letting these things get out of hand, they need to start going more after those rioters.
01:07:57.220 They arrested some in D.C.
01:07:59.080 They may have arrested some the other night in Berkeley.
01:08:02.020 They need to start enforcing the law within that crowd.
01:08:06.520 And I know it's difficult to do and it's not easy, but I saw some of the failures in D.C.
01:08:10.540 They have a contained mentality first to keep it from getting out of hand.
01:08:14.320 And that's probably pretty smart.
01:08:15.860 But you need to go after these people with extreme prejudice.
01:08:19.020 These people are not just breaking windows or they're putting people in danger.
01:08:22.400 And you start clubbing these people a couple times when they're doing this stuff.
01:08:26.460 And I'm not talking about inappropriate police brutality.
01:08:28.800 I'm talking about you know they're going to resist.
01:08:30.900 Give them a couple whacks with this stuff.
01:08:32.420 Put the handcuffs on.
01:08:34.060 And by the way, don't put your head on the hand when you throw them in the cop car.
01:08:37.340 Oh, I'm sorry.
01:08:38.460 You hit your head on that.
01:08:40.140 You do that and you start putting that on TV, maybe you'll get rid of some of this stuff.
01:08:44.340 That's just my take on it.
01:08:45.880 Coming up, I'm going to need your help with something.
01:08:47.700 Check out the hashtag, Hire10,000Veterans.
01:08:51.100 And it's not spelled out.
01:08:52.580 It's the number, 1-0-0-0-0-0-Veterans.
01:08:56.260 Hire10,000Veterans on Twitter.
01:08:58.180 And we're going to talk about that coming up.
01:08:59.420 But I want to talk to you about something that's been going on in my life.
01:09:03.100 I have a security system at my house that I don't love.
01:09:06.580 I've had some issues with it.
01:09:08.380 And just recently, I'm like, I've got to get something else.
01:09:11.060 I know Glenn uses SimpliSafe.
01:09:12.480 So this is something that I'm likely going to be calling on in the next couple of weeks.
01:09:16.380 Losing $40,000 in a single burglary.
01:09:18.780 Can you imagine that?
01:09:19.800 Well, that's exactly what happened to one homeowner in Los Angeles last month.
01:09:23.040 The perp dragged the homeowner's safe all the way down the stairs, out the door, into a getaway vehicle.
01:09:27.600 So how did he break in?
01:09:29.420 He shattered a single pane of glass.
01:09:31.400 Too many homes out there, maybe yours, only have a single pane of glass as the barrier between your home safety and catastrophe.
01:09:38.120 That's why Glenn has been recommending SimpliSafe Home Security.
01:09:41.480 Now, these guys take care of your home, and that's the reason I'm interested in it.
01:09:44.760 SimpliSafe's 24-7 protection is just $14.99 a month.
01:09:52.160 That's it.
01:09:52.880 Less than 50 cents a day, and that is far less than I'm paying right now.
01:09:56.340 And based on what Glenn's telling me, much better service as well.
01:10:01.020 Your belongings, your safety, your family, all worth so much more, so why not give them a try?
01:10:06.520 I will be trying in the next few weeks.
01:10:08.520 Plus, with SimpliSafe's 60-day money-back guarantee, you'll get a full refund.
01:10:12.940 If you don't like it, no questions asked.
01:10:14.840 And all you have to do, go to SimpliSafeBeck.com.
01:10:19.340 SimpliSafeBeck.com.
01:10:20.400 It's S-I-M-P-L-I-S-A-F-E-B-E-K.com.
01:10:24.960 And you'll get an exclusive 10% discount.
01:10:27.000 That's SimpliSafeBeck.com for 10% off your home security system.
01:10:30.400 Call now.
01:10:31.780 SimpliSafeBeck.com.
01:10:34.000 The Glenn Beck Program.
01:10:36.740 Mercury.
01:10:37.540 You're listening to the Glenn Beck Program.
01:10:44.460 Hi there.
01:10:45.140 Doc Thompson in for Glenn today.
01:10:46.360 If you would, please follow me on Twitter, at DocThompsonShow.
01:10:48.860 When I filled in for Glenn just before Christmas, we launched a little program because I'm a capitalist.
01:10:55.240 To have a little fun and to make money because I'm a capitalist.
01:11:00.360 And it's going pretty well.
01:11:03.860 But I could use your help.
01:11:04.840 Go to DNCTrophy.com to get your participation trophy for a snowflake you know.
01:11:11.260 It's DNCTrophy.com.
01:11:13.720 And I think Tommy had it on her program one night, giving trophies away.
01:11:17.800 We're going to do some more stuff down the road with this.
01:11:20.140 So order yours today because you're going to want to have it in a couple of weeks.
01:11:24.820 That's all I can say.
01:11:26.000 I don't want to get another email.
01:11:27.120 No, that's all I'm saying.
01:11:28.420 I'm not letting the cat route completely out of the bag.
01:11:30.740 I got a lot of emails last night.
01:11:31.960 I know.
01:11:32.980 I can't.
01:11:33.700 There's things coming up.
01:11:34.660 I can't say.
01:11:35.440 I'm just saying get your trophy now because there's some things coming up soon.
01:11:39.540 It's DNCTrophy.com.
01:11:41.120 The concept is this.
01:11:42.300 So all these people out there protesting at Berkeley or whatever, I got why they're protesting.
01:11:47.120 Why?
01:11:47.480 They're not used to losing.
01:11:49.300 Right?
01:11:49.840 They're used to, oh, no, you played the game.
01:11:52.520 Here's a trophy.
01:11:53.820 They're the trophy generation.
01:11:55.060 So when they lost the election, I mean, this was eight years of Obama.
01:11:59.600 They had win after win after crazy win for them.
01:12:02.840 And all of a sudden, they're in this world where they lose.
01:12:06.420 And every day, Trump does something they're so bothered by.
01:12:09.540 So they're like, I can't deal with this.
01:12:12.000 See, you and I, we were used to being kicked around in the schoolyard, right?
01:12:15.420 I mean, you had to get out there and fight.
01:12:16.720 It was like Lord of the Flies every day after lunch.
01:12:19.280 We're used to fighting, right?
01:12:21.160 You lose some, you win some, but you get in there and fight, right?
01:12:24.520 They're not used to it.
01:12:25.940 So if we can just give them all a trophy.
01:12:29.220 Okay.
01:12:29.740 Here you go.
01:12:31.140 And if you go to DNCTrophy.com, you look at it.
01:12:33.420 It says, I participated in the 2016 election.
01:12:38.560 If you had fun, you won.
01:12:41.180 They won.
01:12:42.040 Here you go.
01:12:42.900 You're all winners.
01:12:43.620 I think if we can get a trophy to all of these snowflakes and the protesters out there
01:12:48.380 in Berkeley, it all goes away.
01:12:49.760 And they're on board going, yes, President Trump, I am behind you.
01:12:53.640 They'll realize it.
01:12:54.760 They're part of it then.
01:12:55.860 It's inclusive.
01:12:57.540 Do you think the inclusive thing's working?
01:12:58.860 Should I keep saying words like that?

01:13:15.720 you can stick it to them.
01:13:16.740 I mean, you can show them that you want them to feel like a winner as well.
01:13:21.740 You got a snowflake in your life?
01:13:23.620 DNCTrophy.com.
01:13:24.420 You just get it and, you know, give it to somebody like or have it.
01:13:29.140 Yeah.
01:13:29.620 I'm a capitalist.
01:13:30.620 I'm admitting I'm making money off of this.
01:13:32.140 This is a good thing.
01:13:32.880 But it's also fun and it's bringing the country together.
01:13:35.680 That's what it's really about.
01:13:36.720 Don't focus so much on my making money.
01:13:38.440 I think that's the wrong attitude here.
01:13:41.040 All right, Cal, let's get some tweets.
01:13:42.420 The hashtag what I learned today.
01:13:43.640 Please follow at Doc Thompson show at Cal 79 and at RC underscore Chris.
01:13:48.500 If you want to know more about our show in the morning blaze.
01:13:50.720 What do we have going on, Cal?
01:13:52.540 Let's see.
01:13:52.960 Looking at Andy Grab.
01:13:54.980 Doc Thompson show what I learned today.
01:13:56.080 Hey, Doc, what's with that man ring on your index finger?
01:13:58.740 Son of a gun.
01:13:59.540 Is that a 22 kill ring you're wearing?
01:14:01.580 You know, I've been seeing that lately and I got to call, you know, call you out here
01:14:05.940 because I'm not up for man jewelry.
01:14:07.200 All week, you guys have been around me and nobody's called me.
01:14:11.820 I'm like, apparently I haven't seen it.
01:14:13.080 I knew somebody was going to ask me.
01:14:14.220 I did.
01:14:14.440 I noticed it, but I didn't know how to brush it.
01:14:16.320 This is my wedding ring and the other one I don't wear all the time.
01:14:19.260 This was a gift early on from my wife.
01:14:22.220 I didn't have a wedding ring when we started dating.
01:14:24.060 And I don't wear it all the time because I'm not a big jewelry fan either.
01:14:28.780 In fact, this is pretty much the only jewelry I wear is my wedding ring.
01:14:31.740 The reason I'm wearing it is because it's uncomfortable and I don't like it.
01:14:37.420 Now, that sounds counterintuitive, right?
01:14:39.120 This is one of those things at times in my life when I try to remember things that I'm
01:14:44.720 having trouble with, like don't kick that guy in the face on the subway today.
01:14:50.320 When I'm having particular struggles with something in my life, remember to be a better
01:14:55.560 person.
01:14:56.240 So it'll come out for a week or two at a time when I'm trying to remember something.
01:15:00.280 I'm like, okay, remember, you got to do this, work hard.
01:15:03.780 And I have been putting in more and more time away from my family.
01:15:07.740 And it's been a bit of a struggle to me being away from my sons and my wife because I'm looking
01:15:13.340 for opportunities.
01:15:14.720 Glenn treats me really well around here and I want to do more.
01:15:19.100 But anything could happen tomorrow and I've got to grow my brand.
01:15:22.120 I've done some work with Conservative Review.
01:15:23.680 I'm looking for other side opportunities with television and whatnot.
01:15:26.060 And being away from my family to do that, being in Dallas, is a struggle.
01:15:31.120 So this is my reminder this week that when I am unhappy and missing them, this is for
01:15:38.200 them.
01:15:38.540 So a translation, you're going to be away from your wife.
01:15:41.160 You said you put that ring on so people know you're taken.
01:15:44.340 Cal, I just told a really nice story that I thought people were going to believe.
01:15:47.360 And you have to ruin it.
01:15:48.660 Why are you always raining on my parade?
01:15:51.040 I'm a truthist.
01:15:51.280 I pull out the truth on you.
01:15:52.340 Why are you always pulling me down, Cal?
01:15:53.680 I'm about the truth.
01:15:54.260 You're trying to share something nice and you have to tell the truth.
01:15:56.540 Your wife is marking her territory.
01:15:57.880 That's what it's about.
01:15:58.180 This is really frustrating to me.
01:15:59.320 You know what?
01:16:00.180 I think we need some changes in the control booth.
01:16:01.880 We're going to take a break.
01:16:02.760 We'll come back and figure this thing out.
01:16:04.200 We are one.

01:16:48.600 Because we are one.
01:16:50.420 I will beat my drum.
01:16:52.640 I have made my choice.
01:16:54.880 We will overcome.
01:16:57.200 Because we are one.
01:16:59.100 The fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.
01:17:03.040 This is the Glenn Beck Program.
01:17:06.640 Hi, I'm Doc Thompson.
01:17:09.780 Pinch hitting for Glenn today.
01:17:11.020 Regularly heard on the Blaze Radio Network.
01:17:12.980 Just go to theblaze.com slash doc for more information on me.
01:17:17.160 I want to ask for your help with something today.
01:17:19.940 And I hope it's something you'll take seriously.
01:17:22.460 And I hope it's something that you'll take just a moment and help us out with.
01:17:26.600 A couple of, I think it was about a week or so.
01:17:29.260 Maybe a couple of weeks ago.
01:17:31.060 This would be about a week ago.
01:17:32.620 When Donald Trump announced his ban as it's being pushed.
01:17:36.380 A Muslim ban.
01:17:37.360 Which, of course, it isn't a Muslim ban.
01:17:40.320 And it's barely even a ban.
01:17:41.740 Because a ban indicates like indefinite or for lengthy periods of time.
01:17:45.840 When he announced this, a bunch of people flipped out and said,
01:17:48.600 How dare you try to keep refugees out?
01:17:50.720 These are people that need our help.
01:17:53.480 Quick monologue on that.
01:17:55.600 Yes, these refugees do need our help.
01:17:57.900 They should be vetted.
01:17:59.220 Thoroughly vetted.
01:17:59.960 And then vetted some more.
01:18:01.260 And then probably a little more vetting.
01:18:03.020 Just to make sure we know who they are.
01:18:05.380 But, of course, we should, when we can, help people around the world.
01:18:10.080 Of course we should be doing that.
01:18:11.440 If you're a Christian, your faith tells you you should be doing that.
01:18:15.520 My problem with it, though, is we have people that we don't have to vet that need help.
01:18:20.300 We have people that live next door to us, down the street, that we pass on our way to work every day.
01:18:24.880 Homeless people.
01:18:25.580 There are people right here in America that live in places like West Virginia and Alabama and Mississippi.
01:18:32.100 There's some very poor parts of America, Kentucky, that need your help.
01:18:36.680 People in richer states like the New England states and New York, California, that are living in poverty and need your help.
01:18:43.160 Now, I think there's a more libertarian and conservative way to help them than, hey, government, give them money, or you just cutting them a check.
01:18:51.140 There are programs and systems and organizations we can go through.
01:18:54.340 But we are dictated, directed by our faiths to help these people.
01:18:59.520 So it's good to help refugees.
01:19:01.500 But shouldn't we prioritize Americans first, the people closest to us?
01:19:04.860 Because when we help them, we build a stronger America, and a stronger America allows us to help even more people.
01:19:12.180 That's how it works.
01:19:13.700 When you're strong, you can help more.
01:19:15.660 When you're weak, you're helping fewer people.
01:19:17.640 That's just how it is.
01:19:18.980 It's smart.
01:19:19.780 It's common sense.
01:19:20.900 And by the way, these are people we know.
01:19:23.220 People that are around us.
01:19:25.180 People that we understand.
01:19:26.820 Certainly better than people that come from halfway around the world.
01:19:29.220 And I'm telling you, yes, we should when we can help those people out.
01:19:33.180 Now, when it comes to the ban, or so-called Muslim ban, as some are saying, Donald Trump is right to at least say,
01:19:41.260 we need to make sure the proper systems are in place to determine if people coming to America are going to hurt us.
01:19:48.580 A temporary stoppage?
01:19:51.140 90 days?
01:19:53.140 Okay.
01:19:54.540 If he really believes this is something that's going to help the structure?
01:19:58.200 Cool.
01:19:58.500 If it was a Muslim ban, or a ban on Hindus, or anybody else based on their religion, or based on a race, or something, I would say absolutely not.
01:20:06.800 Based on countries that are primarily Muslim?
01:20:09.480 Not a concern if those countries were primarily responsible for terrorism.
01:20:13.260 Having said all of that, Howard Schultz, the CEO of Starbucks, sent out a message, public form, public release,
01:20:25.560 that says that the Starbucks company is going to hire 10,000 refugees over the next five years.
01:20:33.420 This is their goal.
01:20:34.760 Hire 10,000 refugees.
01:20:37.080 And as I said, it's nice to help people.
01:20:38.840 It's good that they're thinking of those people.
01:20:40.320 But why isn't Howard Schultz and Starbucks thinking of Americans first?
01:20:45.860 Primarily the people who pay for their coffee.
01:20:48.740 I mean, I know they sell coffee around the world, but I'm thinking they have more shops in America,
01:20:52.440 and more Americans buying your coffee than anyone else.
01:20:55.720 Why aren't they helping certain Americans, like veterans?
01:21:00.560 How is it that the people that made your existence possible, veterans,
01:21:06.620 that you haven't thought about them before thinking of refugees?
01:21:10.400 I find that inconscionable.
01:21:12.040 It's outrageous.
01:21:12.780 It's disgusting.
01:21:13.900 That he wouldn't say, wait a minute.
01:21:17.360 Let's help 10,000 veterans.
01:21:19.860 Let's get them jobs.
01:21:21.660 You're going to give jobs to 10,000 refugees before 10,000 veterans?
01:21:26.920 That's a huge failure.
01:21:28.420 When you look at the number of veterans that are coming back with traumatic brain injuries and PTSD
01:21:33.440 and can't get jobs because of that,
01:21:35.960 veterans that are just being overlooked because of political biases as well,
01:21:40.040 and there are tens of thousands of them out of work,
01:21:42.620 there may be as many as 200,000 veterans out of work right now.
01:21:46.320 I mean, it's nice to have jobs for everybody, but let's be honest.
01:21:49.920 If not for veterans, we would not be here.
01:21:53.560 That's not overselling it.
01:21:54.800 I mean, throughout American history, we have fought and defended America.
01:22:00.540 I mean, by we, I mean the veterans fought for America.
01:22:03.800 Howard Schultz wouldn't have a place to put his business.
01:22:07.460 He wouldn't have a place to make millions of dollars himself
01:22:10.700 while saying we're going to help refugees over veterans.
01:22:13.700 So I got kind of ticked off at this, and I said, you know what?
01:22:16.940 I don't have a multi-million dollar company.
01:22:19.220 I'm a man of simple means, but I at least appear on the Glenn Beck program now and then.
01:22:23.060 I have my own radio program.
01:22:25.040 Maybe we can help 10,000 veterans.
01:22:27.540 I want to hire 10,000 veterans or find jobs for them anyways in the next 30 days.
01:22:33.900 How can we?
01:22:35.180 Is that too lofty?
01:22:36.700 I mean, maybe that's crazy.
01:22:38.500 Are there 10,000 positions out there at your company or other companies?
01:22:42.300 Do you know someone who has a company?
01:22:43.860 They're getting ready to hire some people?
01:22:45.220 Would they make a commitment to hiring veterans?
01:22:47.580 I mean, we'll retweet them.
01:22:48.680 We'll give them what publicity we can.
01:22:50.640 Can you hire a veteran today?
01:22:51.900 We had some commitments last night on our Facebook page.
01:22:54.400 We did a Facebook broadcast.
01:22:56.460 Well, we're using the hashtag hire 10,000 veterans on Twitter.
01:23:00.140 And I want this to be a central meeting place over the next month or so
01:23:03.100 where you can go if you're a veteran and say,
01:23:05.220 let me scroll through and see if anybody's hiring in my area.
01:23:08.140 Or if you're a company, maybe you tweet out there,
01:23:10.800 hey, we're located here.
01:23:12.300 We can hire four veterans.
01:23:13.460 We can hire 160 veterans over the next month or so.
01:23:17.500 I mean, maybe you're not going to hire until April.
01:23:20.340 Okay, fine.
01:23:21.200 Can you tell us about it now so we can be prepared?
01:23:23.960 We got 10,000.
01:23:25.480 That's what we're looking for.
01:23:26.620 Maybe it's crazy.
01:23:27.520 Maybe we only get 10.
01:23:29.640 Maybe it's too modest.
01:23:31.680 Maybe we get 20,000.
01:23:33.300 All I know is somebody's got to try.
01:23:35.300 And the Veterans Administration is not helping them.
01:23:37.220 In fact, the Veterans Administration is still killing veterans.
01:23:40.260 We have the hashtag fix the VA.
01:23:42.560 Hopefully Donald Trump's going to do something.
01:23:44.360 Hopefully his new VA director will do something.
01:23:46.880 I don't know.
01:23:47.680 If they don't, I'm going to be kicking their ass on air in a couple months.
01:23:51.260 Hopefully they're going to do it.
01:23:52.340 But as of now, the Veterans Administration is still not taking care of veterans.
01:23:56.080 They're still killing them.
01:23:58.040 Somebody's got to do something.
01:23:59.240 It's got to be us.
01:24:00.220 What are we going to do?
01:24:02.520 The way to help veterans is not put them on a bunch of meds.
01:24:06.180 The way to help veterans is to show them love, concern, and care.
01:24:11.180 Help them get jobs.
01:24:12.560 Help them deal with their injuries.
01:24:14.080 And sometimes that's service animals or, what is it, hyperbaric oxygen chambers.
01:24:20.360 Is that what the hyper, am I getting the name right?
01:24:23.040 Any of these alternative treatments like this.
01:24:25.560 And give them a job.
01:24:27.600 People get self-worth through their job.
01:24:29.840 People don't want to.
01:24:31.100 Most of us don't want to.
01:24:34.320 Getting paid for doing nothing.
01:24:36.060 We want to do.
01:24:37.700 I mean, it would be nice to have a big fat check coming in.
01:24:39.280 Don't get me wrong.
01:24:40.020 And hit the lottery.
01:24:41.080 But we're still going to go do that.
01:24:42.840 What we do is our self-worth.
01:24:44.800 And that's going to help veterans.
01:24:46.880 Hashtag hire 10,000 veterans on Twitter.
01:24:49.480 And we don't spell it out.
01:24:50.840 It's the number.
01:24:51.720 1-0-0-0-0 veterans.
01:24:54.120 Hashtag hire 10,000 veterans.
01:24:56.160 Please tweet at us now if you know of somebody that's hiring.
01:24:58.880 If you're a company.
01:24:59.460 Do you own a company?
01:25:00.140 Are you HR?
01:25:01.060 Can you make the commitment?
01:25:02.520 We'll give you a plug here.
01:25:03.380 We'll help you out.
01:25:04.260 I mean, I know you're probably doing it for the right reasons.
01:25:05.980 But, I mean, I'll help you any way I can.
01:25:07.860 And we've got 30 days to get this done.
01:25:12.580 I don't want to bag on Starbucks completely because they're doing some good with that.
01:25:19.420 But it still seems empty when you're going to hire 10,000 refugees at your 11,000 stores over five years.
01:25:30.320 Did you get those numbers?
01:25:31.480 They have over 11,000 stores worldwide.
01:25:33.760 And you're going to hire 10,000 veterans over five years.
01:25:39.540 So, every year, one of five, count them out, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9, every fifth store of theirs will hire one veteran every year to reach that number.
01:25:53.960 That doesn't sound like much of a commitment, does it?
01:25:56.140 No.
01:25:56.560 Even for the refugees.
01:25:57.820 Did I say veterans?
01:25:58.620 Yeah, it's for the refugees.
01:25:59.960 Refugees.
01:26:00.480 Doesn't even sound much of a commitment for the refugees.
01:26:03.780 Every fifth store of theirs will hire one refugee over five years.
01:26:07.820 And then, who's holding Starbucks or other companies accountable when they say this?
01:26:12.060 You're going to hire 10,000 refugees?
01:26:14.040 Is anybody going to, five years from now, go,
01:26:16.720 All right, Starbucks, let's see the books, baby.
01:26:18.880 Let's see it.
01:26:20.280 Let me see.
01:26:20.820 What do you got?
01:26:21.400 Did you hire the 10,000 refugees?
01:26:23.760 I'm putting money.
01:26:24.800 Who wants to bet me?
01:26:25.640 You want to put a bet up that they don't hire 10,000 refugees if there was a way to tell?
01:26:29.220 Let's go for it.
01:26:29.680 You want to do it?
01:26:29.980 Yeah.
01:26:30.280 Let's put it out there.
01:26:30.960 Steak dinner, baby.
01:26:31.880 Okay.
01:26:32.380 Because as far as I'm concerned, they're not going to hire 10,000 refugees.
01:26:36.640 I'm telling you now, I don't believe you.
01:26:39.220 You're not going to do it.
01:26:41.180 Because there's no accountability.
01:26:43.180 I can claim anything.
01:26:45.000 If there's no follow-up, there's no accountability.
01:26:47.440 And if people do follow-up, what are they going to do?
01:26:50.220 Are they going to go,
01:26:51.240 You're right, we lied, it was for publicity, we didn't get it done.
01:26:54.840 No.
01:26:55.500 They'll make up some BS excuse like,
01:26:58.140 While we didn't reach our goal of 10,000, we did hit 1,400.
01:27:02.720 And continue to help people with our other services.
01:27:05.740 And the bigger issue at the time was to make a stance against Donald.
01:27:08.700 It'll be a bunch of crap like that that their marketing department comes up with.
01:27:12.620 So Starbucks, I'm calling you out.
01:27:14.460 Howard Schultz, pick up the phone.
01:27:16.040 888-727-BECK.
01:27:18.160 Tell me where the accountability is.
01:27:19.920 I think it's good that you want to help people.
01:27:22.640 But why aren't you helping veterans first?
01:27:25.180 Where are you, Schultz?
01:27:26.220 I'll have you on this program.
01:27:27.540 I'll have you on mine.
01:27:29.500 Because when I read through the things you support, like DACA and illegals,
01:27:34.000 it seems like you're really just using your money and influence to push a progressive agenda,
01:27:38.260 pretending to be caring.
01:27:40.040 Pretending that you want to help people.
01:27:41.380 I'm actually helping people.
01:27:45.860 We're going to get a break in.
01:27:46.940 We'll take some of your calls coming up.
01:27:48.480 888-727-BECK.
01:27:49.880 The phone is open for Howard Schultz.
01:27:52.120 Anybody else at Starbucks Corporate, if he wants you to go on because he wusses out
01:27:57.320 and doesn't want to face the heat here, I'll talk to their marketing people as well,
01:28:01.360 as long as it's official from Starbucks.
01:28:03.140 Come on.
01:28:04.040 Tell us what you're up to.
01:28:04.880 Tell us where the accountability.
01:28:06.220 Are you going to put it online?
01:28:07.420 Are you going to list the people you've hired?
01:28:08.600 Are you going to prove it?
01:28:09.880 Come on.
01:28:10.300 Hey, I'll say I'm wrong if you end up doing it.
01:28:13.960 That's just for the refugees.
01:28:15.860 Meanwhile, we'll also take some calls.
01:28:17.360 888-727-BECK.
01:28:18.820 If you're a company, can you hire somebody?
01:28:21.820 Do you know of a company that's hiring?

01:30:45.880 The same day.
01:30:46.960 The Glenn Vec program.
01:30:50.840 Okay, so we got a bunch of people tweeting and actually have some people offering some jobs,
01:30:54.340 a handful of jobs here and there at hashtag hire 10,000 veterans.
01:30:58.260 And we're hoping to do this in the next month or so.
01:31:00.680 Now, some people on social media and others have called us out and said,
01:31:03.300 wait, you guys are misunderstanding it.
01:31:05.720 No, we're not misunderstanding it.
01:31:08.480 He did say he was going to hire 10,000 refugees over five years.
01:31:13.080 Some people are claiming, wait a minute, they have hired veterans in the past and made a commitment.
01:31:17.200 Chris Cruz is here with us from the Morning Blaze as well.
01:31:19.660 They've said that he's hired, made a commitment to hire 10,000 veterans in the past?
01:31:23.440 Yes.
01:31:24.080 So in 2013, November 2013, they started an initiative to hire 10,000 veterans and military spouses by 2018.
01:31:33.120 Okay, good.
01:31:34.200 Did they give you numbers on where they're at?
01:31:35.540 Yes, they gave me a number.
01:31:36.400 They say so far, four years into the commitment, they hired 8,800 veterans and family spouses.
01:31:43.240 Did they list their names?
01:31:45.520 No.
01:31:46.260 Did they list their partially redacted social security numbers?
01:31:49.300 No.
01:31:50.100 But I'm not buying it.
01:31:51.160 I'm not buying the corporate crap.
01:31:52.680 You don't come out even after saying we're going to hire 10,000 veterans and then say we're going to hire 10,000 refugees.
01:31:58.040 Guess what?
01:31:58.440 There's another 10,000 veterans behind them and another 10,000 veterans behind them.
01:32:04.320 So you've said what?
01:32:05.660 Okay, we made our commitment to hire 10,000 and we're almost there.
01:32:09.520 Now we'll just knock off and hire some refugees.
01:32:12.940 So you're helping veterans.
01:32:15.960 Supposedly, that's good.
01:32:17.700 I mean, supposedly you're helping them and that's good.
01:32:20.880 But now you're willing to knock off in favor of refugees.
01:32:23.580 They're still not helping.
01:32:25.600 If you're going to hire another 10,000 people, why wouldn't you hire another 10,000 veterans?
01:32:31.420 Now, again, it's nice that you made the commitment to veterans.
01:32:35.060 But based on this, first of all, I need proof.
01:32:38.420 In today's fake news world and corporate America saying whatever it is for marketing purposes, prove it to me.
01:32:46.120 Show me their names.
01:32:48.580 List their names.
01:32:50.540 List their partially redacted social security numbers.
01:32:53.080 Prove the 8,000 people, Starbucks.
01:32:56.340 And if you do, I'll admit it.
01:33:00.340 Even if you do, remember, you still made the commitment for the next 10,000 people you hire or part of the next people you hire to be refugees.
01:33:09.500 Why?
01:33:09.940 Why wouldn't you say, hey, everybody, President Obama said this about the refugees and it's always great and, you know, we have our opinions about that.
01:33:19.520 We made a commitment to hire 10,000 veterans in 2013.
01:33:23.300 You know, we're almost at 9,000 and we could prove it to you.
01:33:26.260 But, you know, we're going to go another 10,000 now.
01:33:28.800 There is tens of thousands of veterans who need help.
01:33:35.560 This is simply Starbucks trying to get out of trouble because a lot of people are rightfully ticked off.
01:33:46.080 You are putting refugees above Americans and above America.
01:33:49.840 And that's where I draw the line.
01:33:51.220 I believe we should help people.
01:33:54.060 I want to help people.
01:33:55.300 I want to help people around the world.
01:33:57.160 But not at the expense of Americans and certainly not putting them before Americans.
01:34:04.220 I believe charity starts at home.
01:34:06.200 You help the people that you know.
01:34:07.640 You help the people around you.
01:34:09.020 You have people in your community.
01:34:10.200 And it grows out from there.
01:34:12.820 That's what I believe in.
01:34:14.220 That's what should happen.
01:34:15.700 It makes us all better.
01:34:17.120 It makes us able to help more people in the future.
01:34:19.600 So Starbucks, fine.
01:34:20.880 I'm willing to hear you out.
01:34:21.940 I'll put you on the morning blaze on Monday.
01:34:23.840 I'll talk to you on this program.
01:34:24.840 I'm sure Glenn would interview him at some point.
01:34:26.540 I can't speak for him, but I would be willing to bet he would.
01:34:30.140 So prove it to me, number one, or it's just there's no accountability.
01:34:34.980 You could claim anything.
01:34:36.160 How long were those veterans there?
01:34:38.040 What did you do?
01:34:38.980 What type of jobs they were?
01:34:40.120 Give me some details.
01:34:41.560 Sounds nice, but great.
01:34:43.540 And that was since 2013.
01:34:45.660 Okay.
01:34:45.980 You got 10,000, 11, 5, 11,500.
01:34:50.440 Stores or something.
01:34:51.680 Okay.
01:34:52.180 That's a lot of employees.
01:34:54.480 You know, 8,000 over a few years.
01:34:56.620 Again, every fifth store.
01:34:58.160 Just saying there's still a lot of criticism to go around.
01:35:01.280 Where is the next 10,000 veterans?
01:35:04.140 I'm tired of pussyfooting around about this stuff and corporate America and marketing.
01:35:09.120 I'm not doing this.
01:35:10.040 I don't own a company.
01:35:11.300 This is not to make certain companies look good.
01:35:13.740 It's to get veterans hired.
01:35:15.520 And by the way, damn it.
01:35:17.720 Damn it, Howard Schultz.
01:35:19.200 If you really cared about this, how come you're bitching about DACA and supporting that stuff instead of demanding they fix the VA?
01:35:27.740 What about that?
01:35:30.120 You're coming at me like, oh, we made a commitment to veterans.
01:35:32.980 If you really cared about veterans, you wouldn't be pussyfooting around about DACA and caring about all this progressive stuff that Obama did instead of holding him accountable for not fixing the VA and George W. Bush for not fixing the VA.
01:35:47.620 Don't give me this crap like you care about veterans.
01:35:51.520 You obviously don't because you spent more time and press releases and your political capital with your company and probably actual capital with your company supporting Obama's progressive ideas like illegals even.
01:36:05.780 He could say right now, our commitment is veterans.
01:36:10.340 Hashtag fix the VA.
01:36:11.820 He could be on my program, Doc.
01:36:13.560 You're right.
01:36:14.180 He could be using his influence with other companies, with the government, the people's money he pours pockets, the pockets he pours money into in D.C. saying, how come we're not fixing the VA?
01:36:26.000 Instead, he supported things like progressive ideas, like big socialized medicine.
01:36:33.280 We've got it.
01:36:34.420 It's not working.
01:36:35.400 And it's veterans.
01:36:37.760 So where are you on it?
01:36:39.460 It's a weak, at best, attempt to try to make your company look good.
01:36:45.100 And I'm not going to have any of it.
01:36:47.180 Do the job.
01:36:49.320 Damn, how hard is that?
01:36:51.340 And how hard is it for the VA?
01:36:53.620 Do it.
01:36:55.260 Help them.
01:36:56.600 Don't tell me about it.
01:36:57.960 Go do it.
01:36:59.000 And don't help the refugees first.
01:37:01.960 This is not hard.
01:37:03.240 The Veterans Administration has been screwing veterans since before it was the Veterans Administration and it was the Veterans Agency.
01:37:10.580 Since day one in America, veterans have been screwed.
01:37:14.180 When?
01:37:14.780 When are they going to fix it?
01:37:18.160 Trump, you're on notice, too.
01:37:20.460 I'm going to give you about six months, maybe a year.
01:37:24.180 Fix it.
01:37:25.260 Shut it down.
01:37:26.600 Dismantle it.
01:37:27.820 Give them a check.
01:37:29.200 Buy their health care elsewhere.
01:37:31.120 Get out of the way.
01:37:31.980 We are one.
01:37:35.020 The Glenn Beck Program.
01:37:38.540 Mercury.
01:37:40.200 The Glenn Beck Program.
01:37:43.680 All right, a little breather there.
01:37:45.820 It's just stuff sticks me off.
01:37:46.680 Do you feel better now?
01:37:47.840 I do.
01:37:48.440 It's like therapy.
01:37:49.340 But, I mean, stuff angers me when it's so damn simple.
01:37:52.900 And we get so much backlash from people and nonsense when we know there is a major problem.
01:37:59.280 And the only solution that's even ventured is maybe we should do more of that stuff that didn't work.
01:38:06.140 Let's do that.
01:38:07.020 A lot more of it.
01:38:08.100 Or let's just put more money into it.
01:38:09.520 More money to the stuff that didn't work.
01:38:11.540 Damn.
01:38:12.540 Hashtag hire 10,000 veterans.
01:38:14.120 Got some tweets coming up.
01:38:15.000 But first, let's go to the phones.
01:38:16.260 Line 55 in Florida.
01:38:17.920 Neal, you're on the Glenn Beck Program.
01:38:20.740 Good afternoon, gentlemen.
01:38:21.920 I appreciate everything you're doing.
01:38:23.360 I'm a disabled veteran.
01:38:24.520 I own a small business, which is an engineering company.
01:38:27.600 A service disabled veteran owned small business.
01:38:29.320 And we're hiring veterans now.
01:38:31.140 Engineers, technicians, and accountants.
01:38:33.460 Neal, God bless you, sir.
01:38:34.600 God bless you.
01:38:35.160 What part of Florida are you based out of?
01:38:37.160 And what's the name of the business?
01:38:39.420 We're in Orlando, Florida.
01:38:40.660 And the name of the company is GEAR.
01:38:42.040 G-E-A-R.
01:38:43.040 That's an acronym for Gator Engineering and Aquifer Restoration.
01:38:46.620 Okay.
01:38:47.060 Do you have a website, Twitter, Facebook, anything like that where people can find out more about you?
01:38:52.180 www.geareengineer.com.
01:38:55.820 G-E-A-R.
01:38:57.500 Engineer.com.
01:38:59.220 Yes, sir.
01:38:59.820 Okay.
01:39:00.140 Listen, you're a disabled vet.
01:39:01.840 When and where did you serve?
01:39:03.860 I served in the U.S. Navy from 1975 to 1986.
01:39:08.300 God bless you.
01:39:09.000 And thank you for your service.
01:39:09.980 And thank you for being willing to hire vets, too.
01:39:13.280 How many people are you going to hire in the next five months or so?
01:39:16.120 A handful?
01:39:16.680 A couple?
01:39:17.100 Five?
01:39:17.640 Three?
01:39:18.100 One?
01:39:19.120 Half a dozen.
01:39:19.880 We're going to look at six.
01:39:20.960 We're growing very quickly.
01:39:23.080 Okay, good.
01:39:24.460 Geareengineer.com.
01:39:26.780 Did I get that right?
01:39:27.260 Yes, sir.
01:39:27.760 Okay.
01:39:28.240 That's correct.
01:39:28.900 Neal, thank you so much.
01:39:29.960 Listen, follow me on Twitter.
01:39:31.080 And if I can help you ever, just tweet at me.
01:39:33.860 Sometimes it takes a couple times, and I'll be willing to help you out, okay?
01:39:37.000 Thank you, and God bless you for what you're doing.
01:39:38.800 Thank you.
01:39:38.940 Thank you, sir.
01:39:40.460 Let's see here.
01:39:41.500 You got some features here?
01:39:42.360 Yes, I got a couple of ones that I would like to read.
01:39:43.920 We got James here in Texas.
01:39:45.960 He runs an appliance repair business, and he wants to hire a veteran.
01:39:51.100 So if you go to Jim3Repair, so that's Jim3Repair.com, and you're a veteran, and you're here in Texas, he's going in the San Antonio area.
01:40:02.300 He will hire you.
01:40:03.980 Also, we have Jill from Express Pro KC.
01:40:07.240 She says, we're a staffing agency, and we're in.
01:40:10.840 We want to hire veterans.
01:40:12.620 And the last one that I found was in Florida.
01:40:15.360 If you're in Miami, Florida, they're looking to hire five veterans that are into demolition, steel, and concrete work.
01:40:22.840 Hey, I'm into those things.
01:40:23.800 Too bad I'm not a veteran.
01:40:25.840 Yeah.
01:40:26.320 Oh, I mean, like, professionally.
01:40:27.700 Professionally.
01:40:28.100 Oh, I thought it was a sideline, like demolition and that.
01:40:30.540 Okay.
01:40:30.700 All you have to do is fax a resume to this number, fax a resume to 305-501-4760.
01:40:41.360 That number again is, one more time, that number again.
01:40:45.440 305-501-4760.
01:40:49.920 And again, these are all on Twitter if you just follow the hashtag, hire 10,000 veterans.
01:40:53.060 And there's a lot of people doing it, different companies, but those are the ones that are ready to go.
01:40:58.380 Okay, good.
01:40:59.660 Hopefully, you'll get it done.
01:41:00.500 I'm just, I'm trying to help in any way I can.
01:41:02.120 I can't rely on the government, apparently, to spend my tax dollars properly to run an agency that's supposed to help veterans.
01:41:08.080 So, I'll do what I can here.
01:41:10.260 We've always done that.
01:41:11.240 We've talked about these issues.
01:41:12.420 We've gone to marches.
01:41:13.320 We've created videos.
01:41:14.400 We've done all kinds of things to help veterans.
01:41:16.720 And we'll keep trying stuff to see what works.
01:41:19.680 It's difficult.
01:41:22.740 Chris, you're a veteran.
01:41:24.340 Chris Cruz is a veteran.
01:41:24.940 Yeah, the Blaze actually, you know, partaked on that.
01:41:27.740 They hired a veteran.
01:41:28.600 I'm a veteran.
01:41:29.900 That's right.
01:41:30.400 We did just hire a veteran.
01:41:31.700 Yeah, you just hired me.
01:41:33.420 Yeah, and it's funny because you were talking about TBI.
01:41:36.160 I have that, which is traumatic brain injury.
01:41:38.660 PTSD.
01:41:39.140 I want you to know.
01:41:39.680 Nobody's going, what?
01:41:41.380 Oh, really?
01:41:42.160 What?
01:41:42.480 Especially if you work with me the last month.
01:41:44.500 They're like, oh.
01:41:45.260 Right.
01:41:45.880 Makes sense.
01:41:46.520 I get it now.
01:41:47.360 Yeah.
01:41:47.840 PTSD, checkmark, is there.
01:41:50.720 Depression is there.
01:41:52.440 You have some physical injuries, too.
01:41:53.740 Physical injury, I have ankles are made of.
01:41:57.680 Titanium, are they?
01:41:58.340 No, not titanium, but they got like nuts and bolts and wires because I messed them up.
01:42:01.840 It's fun being at the airport, isn't it?
01:42:03.140 Oh, yes.
01:42:03.660 I love it.
01:42:04.140 I don't tell them.
01:42:05.320 Do you have any metals?
01:42:06.080 I know.
01:42:06.420 And then in the little machine, you know, where it has the highlighted area where it's always.
01:42:11.600 They're like, what's in your ankles?
01:42:14.080 Oh, I forgot about those.
01:42:15.700 Yeah, there's nuts and bolts and wires.
01:42:18.100 Do we have to touch it?
01:42:19.020 I have to go for it.
01:42:19.680 Yeah.
01:42:19.800 Can I touch you?
01:42:21.580 Yeah, go for it.
01:42:22.520 But yeah, I'm one of those guys that actually has been, it took me a month.
01:42:27.000 I told you about this.
01:42:28.240 It took me about a year and a half just to get one appointment to get heartburn medicine.
01:42:34.240 Did you just get like cryolose?
01:42:35.640 Heartburn medicine, you know, it comes all the way from the middle of the earth.
01:42:38.660 I wasn't working, I was buying off the counter.
01:42:40.300 Well, as Cal pointed out, heartburn medicine comes from the center of the earth.
01:42:44.060 It's very difficult to get heartburn medicine.
01:42:45.760 Yeah, especially if you've seen those commercials where the guy goes, you know, they're trying to.
01:42:50.420 But I mean, it's made from some very rare substances that you can only, I mean, you can't just go down to 7-Eleven and buy heartburn.
01:42:57.200 It's like one of those crystals here that Glenn has.
01:42:57.420 The middle of the Amazon.
01:42:58.600 It's like something like that.
01:43:00.500 And they put it on the medicine.
01:43:02.600 And it's hard to get something like that.
01:43:04.620 I do have to call a bit of a foul.
01:43:05.960 First of all, maybe that's something you could have just gone down to Target and gotten.
01:43:10.320 But it wasn't working.
01:43:11.140 It wasn't strong enough.
01:43:11.860 I know, I'm just messing with you.
01:43:12.680 But you had the appointment, you had an issue, bottom line is, and you went to the VA.
01:43:17.640 A year and a half.
01:43:18.680 Wow, okay.
01:43:19.440 Because it doesn't count.
01:43:20.980 It has to first come from a physical.
01:43:23.060 So I can't just be like, hey, doc.
01:43:24.840 Well, you're a doctor.
01:43:25.760 I'll be like, hey, doc, I got some heartburn.
01:43:28.200 And oh, no, no.
01:43:28.860 First, you have to do a full physical.
01:43:31.300 And we have to.
01:43:32.460 Yes.
01:43:33.060 Even for something like that?
01:43:34.100 Yes.
01:43:34.960 They have to do a full physical.
01:43:36.020 Okay.
01:43:36.620 Is that every time?
01:43:37.740 Well, that was my second time going.
01:43:39.940 Okay, so maybe they were just up front doing one then.
01:43:42.540 They were like, hey, we got to do a physical.
01:43:43.660 And then they will send me to a specialist.
01:43:46.860 A heartburn specialist.
01:43:47.920 A heartburn specialist.
01:43:48.740 I did not know that was something.
01:43:50.320 Yeah, gastrointestinal or something.
01:43:52.260 I don't know.
01:43:53.000 Okay, so you went and got the physical.
01:43:55.860 Yes.
01:43:56.320 And then from there, a year and a half?
01:43:58.060 Yes.
01:43:59.000 And then who did you see a gastro...
01:44:00.620 Oh, I don't know.
01:44:01.120 The appointment was January 19.
01:44:04.400 I had to cancel because I had a job here.
01:44:06.460 So this was in Florida.
01:44:07.740 This was in Florida, yes.
01:44:08.780 Well, but I mean, now that you can't, you can just pick up one right now.
01:44:10.860 Yes, I could pick up, yeah.
01:44:11.860 Right here, and that won't take...
01:44:13.200 No, it won't take because everybody did the physical.
01:44:15.580 But are you still on a waiting list, though?
01:44:17.240 I'm still on the waiting list.
01:44:17.940 Yeah, because I moved to Texas.
01:44:19.440 So by changing, though, and being there in Texas, is it still waiting?
01:44:22.240 Will it be like another four months now?
01:44:23.640 Well, I have no idea.
01:44:24.620 I'm still...
01:44:25.360 There's transferring all the paperwork from Florida to Texas because it's a brand new...
01:44:30.740 Wait, they're hand-delivering each page.
01:44:31.820 Yeah, guys, you don't understand this.
01:44:33.640 The VA in Florida is different than the VA in Texas.
01:44:36.660 Is it Pony Express, like Cal said?
01:44:39.580 Yeah, it's fine.
01:44:39.740 Is it hand-delivered?
01:44:41.080 Are they writing it out by hand?
01:44:43.160 No, they have to go through the train system.
01:44:46.660 And you see there's no train connect straight to Florida to Texas.
01:44:49.860 And they have to get it here.
01:44:52.160 Chris, let me help you out.
01:44:54.060 They could just do...
01:44:55.200 Look at this.
01:44:57.860 Okay, I just sent your document.
01:44:59.780 Oh, no, no, no.
01:45:00.860 Now we got them.
01:45:01.720 We got them.
01:45:03.120 The VA is still in the past.
01:45:05.340 They don't do internet.
01:45:06.880 They don't do computers.
01:45:09.340 They're not doing anything electronic?
01:45:10.460 Oh, no, they are, but they just...
01:45:11.560 But it's just not...
01:45:12.140 Oh, it's sending around.
01:45:12.940 No, I'm just...
01:45:13.760 It wouldn't shock me at this point.
01:45:15.380 I mean, because I have heard stories of the people from the Veterans Administration saying
01:45:19.200 where they couldn't get files transferred, stuff like this, where you can't...
01:45:22.900 Well, when it comes like that, they have to mail your physical documents.
01:45:29.500 So, yes, they do have it online, but they always have to...
01:45:32.900 It's like a package that they give you.
01:45:34.900 And you have to carry those.
01:45:36.480 And those are hand-carries to a different...
01:45:39.020 And that's one of the things most of the military people in the military life, they know that
01:45:42.640 you have to hand-carry your medical records when you move.
01:45:47.540 It's electronic.
01:45:48.720 No, Doc, you don't understand.
01:45:50.220 The internet doesn't always work.
01:45:51.660 Okay, if it doesn't work, then you go, hey, I didn't get that.
01:45:55.220 Can you resend it?
01:45:56.180 Okay, I got it now.
01:45:57.000 That's a lot of microbytes you killed there.
01:46:00.640 Is that what it is?
01:46:01.400 All those poor little bites.
01:46:02.960 Yeah.
01:46:03.580 This is what I'm talking about.
01:46:05.040 This is just silliness.
01:46:06.260 And there's nobody there to step up and say, guys, we can just do this.
01:46:09.640 Knock it off.
01:46:10.500 And by the way, if there's some reason we can't, why?
01:46:13.840 We've got to change some other system then.
01:46:16.720 All right, now, did they try to put you on a bunch of meds?
01:46:18.880 They did.
01:46:19.440 They tried to give me, when they found out that I had PTSD, they tried to put me on.
01:46:22.620 I'm not talking about the self-prescribed stuff you were on.
01:46:24.860 Oh, no, that's...
01:46:25.480 That's separate.
01:46:26.200 That's between me and Jeffy.
01:46:27.000 That's a complete aside.
01:46:27.360 Gotcha.
01:46:27.700 That's between me and Jeffy.
01:46:28.600 That's between me and Jeffy.
01:46:28.620 You and Jeffy, gotcha.
01:46:29.900 Dr. Jeffy.
01:46:31.900 That's what Jeffy makes people call him around the office.
01:46:34.660 Yes.
01:46:35.040 Dr. Jeffy.
01:46:35.800 Dr. Jeffy.
01:46:36.360 And then you go out to the trunk of his car and he's like, here you go, I got this bag
01:46:39.140 for you.
01:46:39.480 When it's a bag full of, like, colorful pills, so it's like, just take this one with this
01:46:43.520 one.
01:46:43.740 I'm like, okay.
01:46:44.080 Never these two, though.
01:46:45.060 Never these two together.
01:46:46.200 That's right.
01:46:46.520 Red and we never go together.
01:46:48.360 But yeah, they tried to put me on different medications.
01:46:50.540 But one of the things that I always, my faith, I always relied on my faith.
01:46:54.600 And one of the things that was like, you know what?
01:46:56.420 I really don't need medication.
01:46:58.480 Let's, can we try it without medications?
01:47:00.880 They were like, yeah, that's fine, but it's going to take longer.
01:47:03.500 I was like, that's fine with me.
01:47:05.020 I just, you know, don't want to get it.
01:47:06.660 If I don't have to, let me see.
01:47:08.180 If I don't have to, I don't, but so far it's been, I was two years in the treatment, four
01:47:15.620 years total, counting this year, four years.
01:47:17.900 And it's been amazing without any kind of, other than painkillers for my ankle surgeries,
01:47:24.320 but no antidepressants, no, nothing for my TBI, nothing for my, when it comes to anxiety.
01:47:30.760 And so I did the no, just a lot of talking.
01:47:35.480 Okay.
01:47:35.800 And it kind of works for me because I love to talk.
01:47:37.660 Yeah.
01:47:37.860 So it was more sitting just like this.
01:47:39.580 So you should be paying the blaze then because you like to talk.
01:47:42.040 Oh, I should be.
01:47:42.260 Because I mean, it's therapy.
01:47:43.400 Sorry, sorry.
01:47:44.180 Edit that out.
01:47:45.320 Don't let anybody hear that.
01:47:46.460 Edit that out.
01:47:48.000 But what's, did you have any experience with, so you didn't actually get a lot of stuff prescribed
01:47:53.260 from them?
01:47:54.000 No, I did not get anything prescribed when it came to that stuff.
01:47:56.960 And the reason I asked that is because there are a bunch of veterans told me stories of
01:47:59.860 them having meds sent to their house.
01:48:03.160 That's how they do it.
01:48:03.840 They ship them out to their house and they would send often the wrong meds and they'd call
01:48:08.940 them and say, you said the wrong stuff.
01:48:10.120 And they're like, well, yeah, but because you touched it, even if you didn't open it,
01:48:14.220 we can't take it back, which is makes sense.
01:48:16.340 You know, you don't want someone to slip with someone a Mickey and they're like, well,
01:48:18.740 what do I do?
01:48:19.080 We'll just flush them down the toilet.
01:48:20.860 So number one, they said a lot of times this happens.
01:48:25.360 So they're sending out these meds we're paying for.
01:48:27.680 Number two, you're just disposing them in the toilet and believing people will do that.
01:48:32.580 You know, I have to get a prescription to get antibiotics when I think I have a sinus
01:48:36.000 infection and you make me go through this, but you're just like, yeah, we sent you those
01:48:40.440 wrong psychotropic drugs.
01:48:42.040 Just we trust you to get rid of them yourself by flushing them down the toilet.
01:48:46.540 And then third, stop flushing stuff down the toilet.
01:48:48.880 It's not good.
01:48:50.020 You know, the meds down the toilet.
01:48:52.040 Not good, guys.
01:48:53.020 Not sure if you know this or not.
01:48:54.820 Just failure after failure.
01:48:56.240 All right.
01:48:56.440 Quick break.
01:48:56.860 Back with more on the Glenn Beck program.
01:49:01.080 Oh, we got to do Sherry's Berry.
01:49:02.280 Sorry about that.
01:49:03.300 Yeah.
01:49:03.480 Where are the Sherry's Berries around here?
01:49:06.420 Yeah.
01:49:06.780 I love the Sherry's Berries here.
01:49:09.200 Here was my plan.
01:49:10.140 Okay.
01:49:11.060 I'm thinking there's Sherry's Berries around here.
01:49:14.120 I just take some home to the wife.
01:49:16.100 Right.
01:49:16.780 Well, I had some the first time they did it this week.
01:49:19.440 Yeah, exactly.
01:49:19.840 I had some.
01:49:20.380 I didn't get any.
01:49:21.180 I don't know where those were.
01:49:21.800 Oh, I'm sorry.
01:49:22.140 But I'm thinking, I take the Sherry's.
01:49:23.240 It's got to be some around here, right?
01:49:24.800 I get out of buying them.
01:49:25.660 They're here, right?
01:49:26.440 I take them home to the wife.
01:49:27.780 No.
01:49:28.180 No Sherry's Berries.
01:49:29.040 Why?
01:49:29.640 Jeffy.
01:49:31.260 I'm sure that's what it is.
01:49:32.420 And Keith and Chris.
01:49:33.900 It's Jeffy.
01:49:34.500 Come on.
01:49:34.800 He's the one who's really tipping the scale.
01:49:36.300 So, there's no one like your Valentine this year.
01:49:39.040 Treat them to an unforgettable gift.
01:49:40.340 And that is as unique as they are.
01:49:42.240 And that's Sherry's Berries.
01:49:43.840 They're freshly dipped strawberries from Sherry's Berries starting at just $19.99 plus shipping.
01:49:49.740 That's a great deal.
01:49:50.480 And they're really good.
01:49:51.900 Or, for today only, you can double the berries for just $5 more.
01:49:56.220 Even better.
01:49:57.680 You just need the code to take advantage of it.
01:49:59.680 And this time, the code is GLENN.
01:50:01.940 G-L-E-N-N.
01:50:04.140 Make sure to get the two N's.
01:50:05.500 Hurry.
01:50:05.940 This amazing deal is today only.
01:50:07.780 Double your order.
01:50:08.600 $5 more.
01:50:09.920 It's Sherry's Berries.
01:50:11.020 Now, these berries are decadent.
01:50:12.560 They're fresh.
01:50:13.000 They're juicy.
01:50:13.420 They're sweet.
01:50:14.120 They're shareable.
01:50:14.860 They're irresistible.
01:50:15.880 And a bunch of other adjectives that they didn't list on my script.
01:50:19.120 But they are awesome.
01:50:21.180 Choose Berries dipped in this tempting white milk and dark chocolatey goodness.
01:50:25.600 They top them with chocolate chips in some cases.
01:50:27.980 You've seen them.
01:50:28.680 You've seen the different varieties where they have all different.
01:50:30.880 And they're huge.
01:50:31.780 Oh, man.
01:50:33.120 So they dip just some regular ones like, okay, it's just a strawberry in the chocolate.
01:50:37.060 And then they have, like, the white chocolate and other stuff drizzled and stuff topped them.

01:52:04.800 Jeff Gibson.
01:52:05.840 The VA has finally upgraded their system.
01:52:07.720 They've installed electronic typewriters.
01:52:11.440 Jeff, here's the thing.
01:52:12.600 Not every branch, not every local hospital within the VA system
01:52:16.840 has upgraded the electronic typewriters yet.
01:52:19.640 Some are.
01:52:20.680 I think they have the rest of them up by the end of the year.
01:52:23.060 They still got to, you know, phase out the telegrams.
01:52:30.600 Or the Pony Express.
01:52:31.840 The Pony Express.
01:52:32.620 That's still out west, though.
01:52:33.540 I mean, it's limited out west.
01:52:34.640 But, you know, they hope to have that wrapped up this year.
01:52:37.180 D tweeting, two years I waited to get a tumor checked.
01:52:41.480 Two years with lingering cancer thoughts.
01:52:44.300 Okay, that's fun, D.
01:52:46.260 That's big fun.
01:52:47.120 And you actually interviewed him for that little piece that you did for Fix the VA hashtag.
01:52:54.300 You actually interviewed him and me talking about the whole veterans.
01:52:59.560 Yeah, I mean, you don't want to linger.
01:53:01.900 Listen, I've had some health concerns where you're like.
01:53:04.680 Yeah, I remember that.
01:53:05.620 What was that?
01:53:06.180 Where you think you have cancer.
01:53:07.460 And, I mean, it was like I waited two days to get tested to see if I had cancer.
01:53:11.800 That was a horrible two days.
01:53:15.080 Imagine two years.
01:53:17.160 I mean, you know, two days, two years, all the same, Chris, right?

01:53:26.600 LeCurion and tweeting, come on, at Doc Thompson, Joe,
01:53:29.080 do you realize how long it takes to transfer a VA database on five and a quarter floppies?
01:53:34.620 That's all.
01:53:35.520 I mean, the discettes, when you load them up, I mean, how many do you get on a flatbed?
01:53:42.760 I'm just saying, maybe you don't transfer all of them.
01:53:45.280 How about this?
01:53:46.540 You have them carry their own five and a quarter floppy.
01:53:49.420 Okay.
01:53:50.000 Since they have to carry their paper, can we at least upgrade where they just carry their floppy with them?
01:53:54.340 It's a little smaller, right?
01:53:55.860 It is.
01:53:56.500 Here's what we want you to do, veterans.
01:53:58.460 You all got a data stick.
01:54:00.580 Carry that around.
01:54:01.380 Put it on your key chain.
