The Glenn Beck Program - 'In The End Socialism Kills' -

00:00:00.000 the blaze radio network on demand glenn back let's go 1979 1979 before the islamic revolution in

00:00:13.960 iran extreme exchange rate was 70 iranian rials to one u.s dollar today that number has grown to

00:00:22.580 119 000 to one u.s dollar iranian currency is in a dramatic death spiral it has dropped 18 percent

00:00:33.500 in the past two days the annual inflation rate now is 221 percent this is good news now why is it

00:00:44.780 happening primarily due to the threat of u.s sanctions returning the first round set to begin

00:00:51.800 on monday second round hitting iran's oil industry and that begins in november so iran's economy is

00:00:58.800 collapsing and the sanctions haven't even officially begun yet social unrest has been breaking out all

00:01:05.380 over the country iran actually knows how to live in peace iran actually knows how to be free and

00:01:15.300 democratic because they have a long history of it it's this is not like iraq or any of the other

00:01:23.340 places now we have no idea what unsettling iran will mean for the future so we should all

00:01:33.060 pray and hope for the best but god only knows what will happen but food and water shortages are now

00:01:43.200 pushing people to the brink protesters have been heard yelling death to khameini rather than death

00:01:49.580 to america now this is what would have happened had the obama administration not given iran a lifeline

00:01:57.120 with a nuke deal but they were at a breaking point and for some reason we decided that it was wise to

00:02:03.480 infuse the world's largest state sponsor of terror with billions of dollars but let's pivot quickly to

00:02:11.820 another failing state venezuela the imf just announced that the inflation rate now in venezuela will hit

00:02:18.600 one million percent by the end of the year i won't even bother to tell you what the exchange rate is

00:02:25.880 let's just say it's bad fortune magazine reported last may that the fake currency in the video game

00:02:34.060 world of warcraft is now more valuable than the bolivar that's how bad it is so why group venezuela and

00:02:46.300 iran together yes they're both failing states but what else do they have in common well something you're

00:02:53.400 never going to hear the leftist and the mainstream media talk about you won't hear a democrat talk about

00:02:59.480 iran and venezuela are both examples of a failed socialist experiment sure the revolution in iran

00:03:09.160 was anti-west but it was also anti-capitalist redistribution and socialist ideology were the

00:03:15.520 co-partners with the islamic ideology in iran the government owns and operates all aspects of the

00:03:23.380 economy it is a fascistic state the state-owned and state-directed economy it is true islamic 1.00

00:03:31.840 socialism and like venezuela socialism is killing that once great country it's sucking it dry iran and

00:03:41.240 venezuela are two countries with vast amounts of oil reserves there is absolutely no reason why they

00:03:48.040 shouldn't be economic juggernauts except for socialism when the state controls the economy

00:03:55.060 the people suffer how many examples do we need before our children can finally see the lie that

00:04:05.260 this new popular wave of american democratic socialist will only bring misery it doesn't matter how flashy

00:04:14.320 the pr campaign is in the end socialism kills

00:04:20.180 it's wednesday august 1st you're listening to the glenn beck program

00:04:31.880 hello stew mr beck how are you good how are you pretty good i don't really understand why you started

00:04:39.440 the show that way though well with lies true with the lies uh socialism's really bad huh yeah people

00:04:46.440 coming together to help each other that's terrible what a terrible idea right uh you haven't even i mean

00:04:52.180 you keep making it sound like it's this impossible task to pay for socialism well and well seeing that

00:04:58.220 medicare uh according to the democrats will cost uh 32 trillion dollars in the first 10 years

00:05:06.300 that would mean that we would need to double the income tax to be able to pay for just that one

00:05:12.840 program first of all you're just making up numbers there's no such thing as trillion but beyond that

00:05:18.400 i wish that were true it used to be kind of that way right it was like trillion and then how are you

00:05:23.800 talking about we thought trillion and zillion was a made-up word when i was a kid yeah and now

00:05:27.780 we may find out that zillion is actually a number if bernie sanders getting control holy crap zillion was

00:05:33.740 real the whole time i hope bajillion doesn't come next uh but we actually the manhattan institute put

00:05:40.060 together a rundown a menu of options okay for you to pay for all right now who is the the manhattan

00:05:46.740 institute yeah like a conservative leaning uh think tank okay but the idea here was to give you

00:05:52.200 some options either government or left-wing estimates a menu of options okay uh to put together

00:05:59.740 the 10 of gdp you would need uh to actually pay for medicare for all now again we should point out

00:06:06.980 that socialism is not just medicare for all this is just one little program and this is a swath of

00:06:11.740 programs because you also have to have you know uh education for all universal college education and

00:06:18.200 universal uh housing is also on the list now as as is guaranteed jobs for all so you can't find a job

00:06:29.520 don't worry the government will provide one and they'll pay you for doing either nothing or

00:06:34.100 something very small right okay so what i want you to do here going to give you options and you have

00:06:40.200 to select ones you'll prove now of course glenn beck will not approve any of these options likely

00:06:44.760 they all obviously are increases in some sort of tax or fee or something because we're trying to get

00:06:49.980 the money back for this 10 so you need to put yourself in the mind of what's reasonable here 0.89

00:06:53.760 not you evil libertarian jerk who doesn't want to help anybody but say what would you okay so if i'm if 0.95

00:07:00.280 i'm if i'm uh if if i'm if i had a gun to my head and uh and there was absolutely no choice of not 0.98

00:07:09.740 doing this what would i choose as the best route yeah i would say like you know what can you put up

00:07:17.360 with okay none of it but you can't but like think of this as like okay we're a left-wing society here

00:07:23.960 like rational options sure okay we're on msnbc and we are proud of that which ones would you yeah

00:07:30.480 exactly which ones all right it's a completely different mindset i wasn't prepared for this

00:07:35.280 but i think i can do it okay all right good uh how about now these are all policies you've heard

00:07:40.140 before all right thrown around tax carried interest as ordinary income you willing to do that tax

00:07:45.360 carried interest as ordinary income so in other words uh interest on you know banks and whatever

00:07:52.820 else i have care well yeah carried interest a little yeah but i mean this is your this is something

00:07:57.200 that uh evil rich people take advantage of all the time i mean you gotta be able to do that that's

00:08:01.860 the easiest one yeah okay you'll do that one how about ending oil and gas tax breaks come on well

00:08:07.980 then you gotta do that step one towards venezuela but i got you gotta do that okay yeah yeah sure sure

00:08:14.420 sure sure yeah yeah yeah i'm on msnbc did you know that warren buffett's secretary pays

00:08:19.940 that is not true okay it is mixing apples and oranges it is but again you don't sound like

00:08:29.160 someone who's on msnbc right now that is an outrage okay how about a 30 minimum buffett tax for 0.83

00:08:34.840 millionaires i mean come on these are millionaires they certainly can pay a little more for universal

00:08:39.260 health care for everybody it's a can i ask the question can i ask the question but they don't

00:08:44.760 get paid that way so a 30 income tax when you don't get an income is zero well no it would be

00:08:55.280 your third you know there's there's taxes that you're right you get the money from different

00:08:59.320 investments and things like that we would make sure capital gains the money that comes in you pay

00:09:03.900 minimum so what happens to the capital gains tax you're gonna pay 30 on that just come on that's an

00:09:09.100 easy one crazy okay sure come on sure okay why not how about a bank rachel maddow on in just a few 0.93

00:09:15.640 minutes i love that how about a bank tax on large financial institutions these are big banks they

00:09:20.440 don't need this money it's just bank tax you can go along with that one i think we'll get you there

00:09:25.720 how about this now this is a minor thing you probably wouldn't even notice that i don't even

00:09:29.180 know why i'm bothering asking but a carbon tax of 25 per metric ton that's craziness also you don't

00:09:35.520 rebate any household that is hit with it so i just make sure there's no rebates you're it's this is a

00:09:40.160 punitive tax that goes on everybody 25 per metric ton no big deal you're fine how much would that no

00:09:45.940 how much would that mean for the average person uh well i mean i mean in and carbon tax what have

00:09:51.880 you replaced it with what what are you replacing the energy with i'm i'm fine getting off of you know

00:09:59.640 carbon emissions as the the minute we have something to replace it with uh what are we like

00:10:07.460 40 uh let's see 40 let's say 40 uh metric tons so the average person you know it's not a big deal i

00:10:16.240 can tell you that i mean we're talking about what a thousand dollars so an extra thousand dollars a

00:10:20.720 year for no big deal average person yeah i mean but but if you have a smaller house and you don't have

00:10:25.840 as much money it'd probably be less okay and for evil rich people like you it'll even be more all

00:10:29.820 right okay so that one's no big deal you're fine with that right oh of course i am okay how about

00:10:33.780 eliminating mortgage interest charitable and salt deductions that is insane well i'm on msnbc so i'm

00:10:43.400 for it it's are you you're willing to go that far i want to make sure no no are you asking me or

00:10:49.480 you asking the guy i'm supposed to be on msnbc because i put yourself in the mindset of i let's say

00:10:55.640 we're going to try to pay for this what's reasonable to pay for this i know none of that

00:10:58.880 none of that because it would collapse the economy none of that think about these deductions salt is

00:11:04.320 the one for state income tax so that's okay that's a minor thing no i know it's not i'm just saying

00:11:10.540 like that one well come on charitable interest so you would no longer be able to deduct your

00:11:14.480 charitable donations and you would not be able to eliminate your mortgage interest no because i

00:11:20.660 because that one all right so that one you're saying no on how about this what if we tax

00:11:25.020 dividends and long-term capital gains is ordinary income no that would be disastrous for the growth

00:11:31.060 of any kind of industry that would be a giant jobs killer okay you're off on that one how about

00:11:36.900 repealing uh the trump uh tax cuts that we just passed uh you mean the one that's a spring on the

00:11:41.740 economy no okay no all right eliminate the uh the fica cap so 15.3 percent payroll tax on all the

00:11:49.760 wages no oh geez how about repealing the uh earned income okay wait wait you're you're getting this

00:11:56.320 from me if i am buddy but if i was over at uh you know the what's the couple in the joe and mika if

00:12:05.040 i was over having you know some sort of chardonnay at their house last night i'm probably for all those

00:12:10.520 things but there's some level where it gets completely insane right like where it's it's like

00:12:14.940 we can all say okay well i want to uh it's the the minimum wage is 725 right we should we should

00:12:20.620 raise it to 12 or 15 and the republican says well well why not raise it to a thousand there's some

00:12:26.660 point where the where a normal person who thinks universal health care is a good idea right is going

00:12:33.100 to stop with these proposals okay so let me go back to where i just started saying no and look at it as

00:12:38.000 an average uninformed adult that doesn't pay any attention to anything that is just convinced that

00:12:45.180 uh you know the the the rich are evil and they have no idea how business works okay eliminate mortgage

00:12:52.120 interest charitable and uh salt deductions i think the average person would say no to that i think

00:12:57.820 you're right tax dividends and long-term capital gains as ordinary income they are going to say yes

00:13:02.600 to that because they don't realize that's their 401k repeal the entire 2017 tax law uh i don't know you

00:13:13.960 could probably make a case i let's say no on that one okay eliminate the fica cap 15.3 percent payroll

00:13:18.820 tax everybody will say yes to that because it's evil rich people yep repeal the earned income tax and

00:13:23.980 child credit no way they're saying yes to that no uh raise corporate tax rate by 20 percentage points

00:13:29.720 what uh yeah i think you could make the case if the because it sounds bad it's a corporation what

00:13:39.660 do we care you can make that case okay uh i mean just to the dolts to the non-thinking you know

00:13:45.820 america double the 35 and 37 tax brackets to 70 and 74 you will make that happen you think people

00:13:54.320 would go along with that i absolutely 74 i absolutely do raise they bought into you could

00:14:02.540 keep your doctor if you liked your doctor true raise income tax rates across the board by 10

00:14:10.660 percentage points no no that hits minimum it will not happen impose a 20 value added tax like a national

00:14:18.740 sales tax no they're not going to accept that um raise the payroll tax by 10 percentage points

00:14:25.240 with no wage limit no okay cut defense budget to european levels yes you think that really you

00:14:32.120 think the average person goes along with that i think i don't think they would go along with that

00:14:36.920 but i but you know okay let's say no because i think if this if for this to actually happen the world

00:14:43.860 has to be in much worse condition and when it does you're going to want that military so i'm going

00:14:48.640 to say no to that all right now you needed to get to uh 10 of gdp and i'm adding it up now as we

00:14:55.640 speak oh boy you have hang on i'm gonna take a break this is going to be ugly i have a feeling this is

00:15:00.680 going to be very very ugly uh we'll get back to that here in a second you add them up blinds.com

00:16:19.620 okay so we're going to talk about 3d printing of guns i i my eyes are going to bleed on this one

00:16:29.440 um but we want to talk about 3d printed guns we're talking about socialism now and the the idea that

00:16:36.440 america would be better off with a universal health care package i cannot believe that i'm having to have

00:16:44.780 this conversation uh after i fought for so long saying this is what they were going to do uh and uh

00:16:50.860 everybody said no you were there with me i mean you you saw it coming too but now we have to actually

00:16:56.400 fight this so how do we fight it we have to fight it with uh facts and reason and hope that it wins

00:17:03.900 um but uh that doesn't usually work out let's try the numbers so stew just gave me a list now who'd

00:17:11.280 you get this list from the manhattan institute put it together however all of the sources are either

00:17:15.440 government source specifically or a liberal source okay so we don't we didn't want to take any like

00:17:20.380 conservative estimates that would say it wouldn't raise that much money because we're trying to get to

00:17:24.200 10 of gdp that's what they say we will need yep okay and so you gave me a menu and read off the

00:17:31.460 things that i said okay you could probably convince the american people to do okay tax carried interest

00:17:37.180 is ordinary income yes and oil and gas tax breaks yes 30 minimum buffet tax for millionaires yes impose

00:17:43.800 the bank tax on large financial institutions carbon tax of 25 per metric ton which you know is probably

00:17:50.180 a thousand dollars per household but you know that depends on how much you use yeah that one's

00:17:55.140 questionable if you could get that one through yeah because i think the average person would have

00:17:58.640 a problem with that um but still it feels good at least from the left um tax dividends and long-term

00:18:04.320 capital gains is ordinary income uh eliminate the fica cap 15.3 payroll tax on all wages uh raise the

00:18:12.320 corporate tax rate by 20 percentage points and i said no to that one didn't i no you said yes to that

00:18:18.220 one you don't want to take that one out all all taxes everybody corporate tax or corporate tax

00:18:23.600 yes yes yes and double the 35 and 37 tax rates yes for the rich people to 70 and 74 okay you passed all

00:18:33.500 of those things yeah okay you needed to get to i don't i don't just tuning in i don't agree with any

00:18:38.640 of those you're saying i think you could in a worst case scenario con enough people into it and say

00:18:45.140 yes but it's going to be good for the collective what's the least defensive way to get there we're

00:18:49.820 trying to get to this wonderful socialist utopia that's all we need all we need is 10 of gdp now we

00:18:55.360 all know of course it would be more than that uh but we're not even going to discuss that we're just

00:18:59.160 going to take the 10 gdp number as given all the things i just described put together gets you to

00:19:05.660 4.36 of gdp oh my gosh so you're not even halfway there to pay for that with now again we're at 74 tax

00:19:14.620 rates we're up to we're up to 40 we're up 20 points percentage points in corporate rate we've

00:19:20.740 eliminated all the taxes by far the uh most heavily taxed uh country in the world now that's interesting

00:19:29.920 too because and there's crossover here as well because you know we eliminated we did not eliminate

00:19:34.820 the entire tax law if you want to do that you're borderline on that one that would get you to 5.03

00:19:40.420 i don't think you'd do that and if you if you cut defense spending to european levels you you you

00:19:45.700 know you get to 6.03 but you're still what do you have to cut to get to 10 and you got to pass

00:19:52.640 probably either the uh the probably the the national sales tax and repeal the child credit

00:20:00.180 and earned income tax credit might get you there it's almost impossible

00:20:04.220 this is the glenn beck program welcome to the uh program i'm really glad that you are here today

00:20:13.740 boy do we have a lot to say on uh the 3d printing of guns i i you know i watched cnn yesterday for

00:20:22.120 about 10 minutes and i can't even say that it was probably about 35 minutes uh and mainly because i

00:20:27.460 couldn't find the remote and so i just i couldn't change the damn channel uh uh but i'm sitting there and

00:20:32.560 i'm having lunch yesterday and i'm i'm i'm watching it and this is an honest question this is an honest 0.59

00:20:38.700 question does cnn report news anymore because if you watch them i mean it was one story after another

00:20:48.260 after another after another and all it was was um uh speculation and then opinion about the

00:20:59.400 speculation we think this is what's going on we think this is who's doing what and then

00:21:08.540 opinions about that and what it might mean if it's true yeah i mean they're particularly uh particularly

00:21:15.820 uh uh certain shows that that really go over the line on this on that network there's some that are

00:21:21.560 okay but there's a lot of them that are really just it's just constant like you know i've used this

00:21:26.200 example yesterday but it's like they're they had a speech of trump and he's just doing a normal

00:21:29.720 campaign speech and they're just covering it and the bottom of the the the screen you know a little

00:21:34.980 lower third banner there says trump talks um amid russian allegations and then they listed like three

00:21:43.740 or four of the you know potential scandals that have been swirling around the news it's like what do

00:21:48.680 you mean amid he wasn't talking about any of those topics he just like he was speaking at the same

00:21:54.120 time we're worried about them is that is that the point you're making i mean you also could have

00:21:58.180 said donald trump speaks amid a great economy with a very low unemployment rate and a new supreme court

00:22:03.420 justice about to be uh uh nominated or you know you could have done any of those things instead you pick

00:22:08.460 hey let's pick the three or four worst things we can think of and just put he's speaking at the same

00:22:13.280 time these things are being considered i mean that that is just that is a that's the sort of bias

00:22:18.000 that's very uh implicit there yesterday i i started making a list of people that i want to talk to

00:22:25.380 that i i uh that i think could add some intelligence to conversation and i don't care who they are i just

00:22:35.980 i i want to talk to people who are honestly seeking truth i don't care no politicians are involved

00:22:43.860 i i don't care uh where you're at as long as you agree with the bill of rights that we should not

00:22:53.020 be shut down for our opinion that nobody should be silenced you know what i mean uh and you're

00:22:59.840 honestly seeking truth and you can have an honest conversation where honest questions are asked that

00:23:05.180 might change your mind talk to somebody and ask them questions about their point of view and their

00:23:11.840 perspective that might change your mind or they might change their mind because of something you're

00:23:17.060 saying to them that's the kind of conversation i want to have so i started making a list i ran out of

00:23:23.220 people at 10 10 i mean what how what do you do who are those people that you think that are either

00:23:39.740 and i i want to be really careful because there is a difference between uh leftists uh who are just you

00:23:48.760 know the the activists on either side the people that just will go and say anything and they will never

00:23:57.780 look at themselves in the mirror because they have an agenda who who do you who do you see

00:24:05.120 that isn't like that i mean somebody suggested to me glenn you really need to talk to the ceo of twitter

00:24:12.020 okay well okay i'd like to but is he like that is he a guy who is open i don't know is he a guy open-minded

00:24:22.720 enough to be able to say wait a minute let me let me say this let me show you how people view what you're

00:24:28.660 doing and him go huh now you know what i didn't think of it that way i've never thought of it that

00:24:35.480 way because i'm surrounded by leftists you know i don't think that moment no i don't think so but

00:24:40.820 i mean would somebody i don't want to i why waste our time with people whose minds are already made

00:24:47.800 up why well i mean if they have something to add to your perspective yeah yeah let me say let me

00:24:55.020 rephrase that whose minds are already made up and there's no chance for anything surprising to

00:25:01.580 happen in either direction right and they just their minds are made up and you are wrong and they

00:25:06.780 are right we'll use a cnn example from today uh they brought on a person who was at the in the crowd of

00:25:14.540 the las vegas shooting and then they brought on a uh second amendment advocate uh talking about

00:25:21.840 uh the 3d printed guns right and so what what happened as you would expect was an argument and

00:25:29.060 name-calling an argument in which the las vegas shooting uh victim appealed to everyone's emotions

00:25:34.140 because he was of course in the middle of a terrible tragedy one of the worst tragedies

00:25:39.540 at least as far as the worst as far as guns go and then you know the the second amendment advocate

00:25:45.700 which i don't i don't know who i'm not who sure who she was but trying to explain the difference

00:25:50.580 between rights and feelings and you know there are you know we've seen certainly with dana lash

00:25:56.980 who's had real success as going on there in those tough circumstances to to argue it's you know it's

00:26:02.180 hard that's these are hard moments and they're hard decisions to make for a society they act as if

00:26:06.780 they're so easy these are difficult decisions our decision was made in 1791 so uh you know it was a

00:26:12.280 long time ago that one was made but still these are tough issues you have to have someone who's

00:26:15.780 really really knows what they're doing and is really uh balanced and understands these things

00:26:20.780 going on you know one person's laughing at the other then you know she you know the the shooting

00:26:25.560 victim uh makes some point that makes no sense as far as the constitution as you might expect again

00:26:31.580 he's a guy talking he's talking about emotion is involved in a shooting and she laughs at it and

00:26:36.400 then he says how dare you laugh at me i was in a shooting i was bullets were coming down and i was

00:26:41.980 dodging them and you're laughing at me how could that possibly advance anyone's understanding of

00:26:48.280 this issue in any way that conversation it's it's it's a giant zilch and you have of course the host

00:26:54.620 who is every time the second amendment advocate says anything that you know veers at all into something

00:27:02.920 that doesn't make them look bad she just interrupts them and then they go back to the other person

00:27:09.320 and it's just like now of course i obviously agree with the second amendment advocate on these

00:27:14.400 issues so i'm seeing it in that fashion but the bottom line is there was zero chance of something

00:27:20.100 positive coming out of that conversation so i'm i'm wondering if there is a chance that anything

00:27:25.540 positive can happen for instance last yesterday i started i started tweeting about the 3d gun thing

00:27:31.360 and i said uh watching you know cnn explain 3d guns is hysterical it's like talking to my

00:27:38.300 grandfather about hip-hop i said we we need to ban these sure as soon as we ban the internet the

00:27:47.740 entire world is about to change in the media and dc still think it's 1959 well that was just crazy

00:27:54.040 talk i got hammered for that so somebody said iran china russia have no problem banning you know a lot

00:28:00.200 of stuff on the internet you oh it right i don't are you making my point or i i don't know i said okay

00:28:08.920 let's be more like russia and china and iran first you have a right to smith your own gun that's

00:28:15.860 long-standing you can make your own gun yeah without serial numbers you can make build out of metal and

00:28:22.860 build them at your home absolutely legal to do two freedom of speech and blueprints that was just

00:28:30.200 settled but these blueprints have been you know with the patent office since you know 1900 you can

00:28:36.240 go get those you just have to go to patent office okay three the internet and 3d printers which one

00:28:43.600 do you want to ban so then i get oh well we're at it glenn why don't we allow sex on the streets and 0.97

00:28:50.580 kill anyone who upsets us it's all about freedom right and i wrote can anybody engage in an actual 0.98

00:28:56.940 debate can anybody actually say something besides name calling so one person wrote back too much 0.67

00:29:03.100 freedom is anarchy glenn okay okay i'll take that as the beginning of a good debate that was as good

00:29:12.220 as it got and i said good first honest statement now we have a bill of rights but just assume we didn't

00:29:20.360 where is the line of too much freedom holy cow uh well your freedom ends where my fist uh when

00:29:32.640 your fist meets my nose um we have the bill of rights which is part of the constitution um you want

00:29:39.240 me to answer that in a tweet why not just uh have me explain thermodynamics well no i know but you want

00:29:48.120 you want to block speech yeah okay um let's see uh that's up to the citizenry to to uh decide glenn

00:29:55.660 the easy answer is is up to the supreme court um no it's not up to the supreme court it isn't up to

00:30:05.640 the supreme court or we still would have slavery if it were up to the supreme court we would still have 0.70

00:30:15.680 jim crow laws it's so frustrating i like in this cnn debate i was just talking about the guy the the

00:30:21.080 guy who was in the shooting says well you could bring up the first amendment all you want this is

00:30:26.960 the law there's a federal law and you the first amendment does not protect you against a federal

00:30:32.720 law there's no federal law first of all if there's anything the constitution does it is protects you

00:30:40.640 against the government making federal laws that violate the constitution it's the whole purpose of

00:30:46.480 the constitution it's exactly what it does it is the most fundamental thing it does it is like the

00:30:53.820 only reason the document exists is to make sure the federal government does not pass laws that violate

00:31:00.320 it let me go a step further it is the point in the declaration of independence governments are

00:31:07.360 established among men to protect these rights that's the only reason why we have a government 0.59

00:31:17.200 okay what's the purpose of that right i mean again like what the purpose is i guess is to make me and

00:31:22.720 you react like we just did so we have some emotional angry reaction about nonsensical points that don't

00:31:30.240 do anything and i don't know what we've done this a hundred times okay so here's here's what we have to do i just

00:31:35.520 want to play just the response um uh and i'm going to get into this later and we're also trying to get a hold of

00:31:42.540 cody wilson but he's like if i answer the phone man uh it'll be that i'm awake and so i'll talk if not i'm like can you

00:31:49.040 put it on your calendar he's the guy who does the 3d printing gun company by the way we've had him on before

00:31:53.980 a few times and uh we've had him on before and didn't really kind of we didn't know how to feel about him

00:31:58.420 didn't really kind of like him the first time but that was like five or six years ago he's 25 years old and changing the

00:32:03.840 world now he's been beaten up a little bit and he's over 30 and he's he's much cooler he's it's much

00:32:08.760 cooler uh but anyway he's the guy who is the 3d it's all started because of him so we're going to

00:32:14.900 hopefully talk to him later on in the program and i and i i have uh i have some things to share with you

00:32:21.240 uh but let's just let's just let mike lee um summarize this yesterday they were trying to pass senate bill

00:32:29.940 533 and if this is not up to the president if you want to ban 3d gun printing and that's not what

00:32:41.680 they're even talking about they're saying that they want to make it illegal to publish the blueprints of

00:32:49.940 guns which are available at the patent office but if you publish them if you put them online that will

00:32:59.220 be illegal okay so that's senate bill 533 here is as they're trying to pass it mike lee stands up he's

00:33:07.460 like i've had this for about 10 minutes so can i just chime in here just quickly before we do

00:33:13.660 something great moment thank god mike lee is thank god listen to this mr president reserving the right

00:33:19.000 to object i first saw this legislation literally moments ago and therefore haven't had adequate time

00:33:26.100 to review it but i will say this any legislation that comes forth from this body that begins with

00:33:32.220 the following words will attract my attention and should attract the attention of anyone who's

00:33:37.940 concerned about our first amendment and other constitutional rights it begins with the words

00:33:42.600 it shall be unlawful for any person to intentionally publish that ought to be concerning to us to each and

00:33:50.340 every one of us democrats and republicans alike on that basis i object wow american americans have got

00:33:58.500 to know there is a much bigger debate than what does the nra say there's donald trump's in the pocket

00:34:05.060 they are trying to pass a law i don't care what it says after

00:34:11.620 it would be unlawful for anyone to publish follow that with anything and it is against our constitution

00:34:23.960 now we're also going to explain why this is just hyperbole why this all this is just this is the latest

00:34:31.060 attack on donald trump and the nra this is this is ridiculous to have this debate but we're having

00:34:38.700 it so we have to be able to defend it more on that coming up in just a second first let me tell you

00:34:43.580 about um your uh your home and real estate if you want to sell your home i cannot recommend highly

00:34:51.520 enough this is the time you know there's all kinds of signs that the housing market is at the very top

00:34:58.340 i don't know if it is or not i personally think it is um but if you can sell your home and it makes

00:35:06.480 sense now may be the time to sell your home if you're thinking about it you need a great real

00:35:12.480 estate agent so we did a ton of research and we found interesting data on what makes one agent better

00:35:18.460 than the competition great agents are full-time and have long careers in real estate your wife's nephew

00:35:26.200 that dabbles in real estate not going to be the person that you need higher for your most valuable

00:35:31.100 asset grace great agents don't just show up and agree to list your home as is they have years of

00:35:39.060 advising clients on things like curb appeal and professional staging and and pictures man the pictures are so

00:35:46.760 important now on trying to sell your home uh when to list when not to list what's happening currently in

00:35:53.560 the market what's going to look like in six months from now pricing your home correctly these are the

00:35:59.300 these are the things that your agent should be saying to you right away now we have real estate agents we

00:36:06.240 have over 1200 of the top agents in america working to earn your trust and sell your home if you need to

00:36:28.160 glenn back we've got a we've got a really great show lined up for you uh and it happens to be today

00:36:39.840 don't miss a second of it more in just a moment after the news near local stations

00:36:45.340 glenn back you know we always we we all hear all the bad news all the time we hear the bad news

00:36:54.820 let me get let me let me tell you a story about a tangle of red hair and frustration

00:36:59.460 a woman named april malloy she had found herself scraping through life she was living in the backseat 1.00

00:37:07.040 of her car she was a single mother of nine living in the backseat of her car she was on welfare 0.52

00:37:15.780 but she never gave up now when she was a foster child herself

00:37:22.240 she learned the tricks of construction because she needed to to figure it out

00:37:32.120 so she's began answering uh ads for construction work and she put you know bids in for construction

00:37:38.860 jobs literally from the backseat of her car she knew she had to be strong for her children she knew

00:37:44.420 she had to go out and earn money they needed her um and she didn't want her kids to see their mother 1.00

00:37:50.980 fallen broken uh and desperate

00:37:54.100 now the beauty in life is when you put into it all you usually need is just one break

00:38:04.500 and sometimes it takes a long time

00:38:07.560 april got hers when a woman answered her ad and had april remodel her bathroom the woman's bathroom floors 1.00

00:38:15.900 had caved in

00:38:16.940 and so april comes in she bids on it and she gets the bid now it's easy to imagine that april saw herself

00:38:26.260 in all of that brokenness you know the walking into a home like that seeing that everything had collapsed

00:38:35.980 but slowly and steadily she built that bathroom and then she got another bid and then another bid and then 0.99

00:38:44.980 another bid and she began working bids for red lobster

00:38:48.260 she saved her money she worked she put in her time she got the license that she needed one by one

00:38:57.880 she did it today april is the ceo of construction first class it's based in new york city that doesn't 0.97

00:39:05.900 happen every day and she's formed her own non-profit called women empower us 0.98

00:39:11.800 to inspire and embolden women who find themselves in the same hopeless situation she found herself

00:39:19.240 somebody who went from living in the back

00:39:24.600 seat of their car

00:39:26.560 grew up in foster care

00:39:29.240 had screwed their life up one way or another

00:39:32.420 and now is the ceo of their own successful company

00:39:36.400 those are the stories that we need to start hearing again

00:39:41.160 because those stories exist

00:39:43.840 and those stories do not exist in most other countries

00:39:49.600 because

00:39:52.640 someone's always telling you

00:39:54.940 that you can't

00:39:56.460 it's wednesday august 1st you're listening to the glenn beck program a couple of things uh going on we we we need to discuss the

00:40:10.780 the craziness that is going on now in washington about the 3d printed gun

00:40:18.400 it's absolutely insane

00:40:20.640 and we need to have a rational conversation about that and we'll do that coming up in just a second

00:40:26.400 also um we a couple years ago glenn you'll remember this rich weinstein he's a uh investment advisor financial planner and a listener to the show

00:40:34.920 and he got in touch with us about something he found when he decided to do some of his own research

00:40:40.660 um and what he found wound up being introduced into evidence into a supreme court trial

00:40:47.640 oh this is the gruber thing

00:40:49.200 yeah king versus burwell which almost overturned obamacare

00:40:53.160 it's a crazy story

00:40:55.220 if you remember you probably heard the clip you might not have known it came from a listener of the show

00:41:00.120 but here it is from i think it was 2014

00:41:02.500 you have it sarah

00:41:06.860 okay ask mike to pull a clip of uh jonathan gruber talking about health care

00:41:11.980 okay so we happen to have that so the it's just you can't do it politically you just literally cannot do it

00:41:16.880 okay transparent financing unless i'm transparent financing also transparent spending i mean

00:41:21.740 the this bill was written in a tortured way to make sure cbo did not score the mandate as taxes

00:41:27.460 if cbo scored the mandate as taxes the bill dies

00:41:30.060 okay so it's written to do that in terms of in terms of risk rated subsidies if you get a law which

00:41:36.080 said healthy people are going to pay in it made explicit the healthy will pay and sick people get

00:41:40.200 money it would not have passed okay just like the people transparent lack of transparency is a huge 1.00

00:41:46.400 political advantage and basically you know call it the stupidity of the american voter or whatever 0.99

00:41:51.080 but basically that was really really critical to getting the thing to pass and you know it's 0.99

00:41:56.260 the second best argument look i wish mark was right we can make it all transparent but i'd rather

00:42:00.600 have this law than not okay so here was the the whole point of this is the ends justify the means

00:42:07.300 they lied they twisted the truth and they wrote it in such a way that it would pass but it was an

00:42:14.380 absolute lie now what's amazing is that this was found by a listener of ours who just likes to go

00:42:22.660 hunting online and dig up stuff and it was used in the supreme court case crazy uh rich is uh

00:42:30.580 with us now uh and uh he's been diving into the the background of alexandria ocasio cortez and

00:42:37.580 how this phenomenon sort of occurred richie there yes i am hey guys hi great to talk to you rich

00:42:43.880 it's interesting you said you you posted this and and you go through kind of a long uh

00:42:48.320 the diagram here of what's happened is really interesting but it starts with you know the 28 year

00:42:54.640 world phenom alexandria ocasio cortez right you know she's she's been getting beaten up in the media 1.00

00:43:01.420 because she doesn't seem to have any answers to any questions and i didn't think i really didn't

00:43:07.000 want to beat her up anymore my my question to myself was how did she get to this spot without 1.00

00:43:13.940 knowing any policy so so that was my question to myself and i didn't think anybody was really

00:43:19.600 looking in that direction you know hang on just a second i i mean i hate to point out but you could

00:43:24.500 say that the republicans found somebody who got to a spot that didn't know much about policy either

00:43:29.720 well occasionally happens talk about that we could talk about that another day okay all right okay all

00:43:35.760 right so so you started looking into her and what'd you find rich well what i did was i first went to

00:43:42.860 her uh her campaign website and and i i kind of wanted to see what her positions were before anybody

00:43:48.780 was looking kind of like jonathan gruber what was he saying before anybody knew to look at what he was

00:43:54.420 saying and you know he was boarding stuff out when he thought nobody was looking right so i thought the

00:44:00.060 same thing about her so i went to her um campaign website and i went back in time i used a way back

00:44:05.740 machine and what i found was her campaign website as little as a year ago was not her campaign

00:44:11.460 website it belonged to a group called brand new congress which i had never heard of before in my

00:44:17.500 life okay and and what i did was i just kept following the bouncing ball so i put brand new

00:44:22.900 congress in google and i come up with this video of rachel maddow talking to the executive director of

00:44:29.160 brand new congress his name was this is going to be a tough one sakat check i can't say his name i'm sorry

00:44:35.060 chakrabarti wants to go with that that's it yeah thank you very much american citizen or do you know

00:44:41.780 anything about him uh no to tell you the truth i put about a year on and off in the gruber i put

00:44:49.580 almost five hours into this okay i found all this in less than five hours all right so so i'm in the

00:44:55.460 middle of a deep dive but let me tell you at least where i got to which is kind of kind of interesting

00:45:00.120 so i i watched maddow interview this executive director from brand new congress and she does a

00:45:06.340 great job of explaining what this brand new congress organization is they're trying to flood

00:45:11.280 the playing field with progressives they're trying to flood the playing field with bernie sanders 0.98

00:45:16.580 carbon copies so what they're looking for are people that complete are advocates for bernie sanders

00:45:23.560 policy statements policy positions that's the qualification so he goes on uh so they talk it's

00:45:31.440 interesting video and so of course he i google his name and he by coincidence became the an executive

00:45:40.100 director of an organization called justice democrats what the heck is that well i didn't know so i start

00:45:46.080 looking into justice democrats and lo and behold justice democrats was founded by a gentleman named

00:45:53.740 jank uger i don't think i'm from uh that guy yeah yeah what's the name of that thing young turks

00:46:00.300 young turks this guy's crazy that that's exactly right so so that's where it gets a little weird 0.98

00:46:07.980 because jank uger is completely tied up in all of this and and but as i'm looking into him a little

00:46:15.680 bit more i find out that he got kicked out of his own organization justice democrats because

00:46:20.560 well somebody did a deep dive on him and found out in kind of the joy reid fashion that he is a

00:46:27.900 complete sexist and he posted some really terrible stuff online so he got forced out of justice democrats 0.62

00:46:34.020 okay but if you keep following the bouncing ball he is obviously you said part of the young turks 0.99

00:46:40.040 now this is where it gets really interesting because the young turks are part of something

00:46:46.300 called the medium media consortium which is source funded so this so the whole thing goes right to

00:46:52.840 george soros and i'm not really like a big soros conspiracy guy you know i don't have i've seen

00:46:58.380 your whiteboard from years ago yeah i'm i don't i don't have that but it led right there so the other

00:47:05.540 thing that's really interesting is that jank uger is extraordinarily wealthy he took venture capital

00:47:13.060 money he's worth like 20 million bucks now yeah so so if you think about all the bernie sanders policy

00:47:19.680 the you know the the redistribution of wealth and all that it always seems that the guys at the top

00:47:25.640 are extraordinarily wealthy i don't know how that happens yeah what happens but but this is a great

00:47:32.320 case where where alexandria acacia cortez is basically a bernie sanders carbon copy and and i

00:47:40.240 this is going to be a little derogatory but the reason why i say carbon copies not everybody even

00:47:45.580 remembers what a carbon copy is but if you if you push down real hard the first page you print on

00:47:50.000 is pretty clear and then every page underneath gets a little dimmer all right yeah you see where i'm

00:47:55.860 going there yes yes that's you can see you can see where she why she doesn't understand the policy

00:48:02.120 well i don't understand this honestly richard because she is uh um she's i think she's ivy

00:48:07.900 league educated she has a master's in for you i thought you went to bu didn't you go to okay i think

00:48:12.620 bu it's a yeah but it's really still a good college she has i think a master's in foreign policy or 0.96

00:48:18.440 foreign relations and also one in economics i think yeah and she doesn't seem to have an answer on

00:48:24.320 anything foreign policy or economics well actually some of her foreign policy statements are are

00:48:31.220 really uh incredible and if i actually did a google search on on her foreign policy comments i think

00:48:37.960 she's been really anti-israel so all i did was did a google search took a picture of it and put it

00:48:42.560 online and what's interesting is if you kind of i haven't completed my deep dive but getting back to

00:48:48.960 brand new congress they have a bunch of board members and the first guy who's a board member

00:48:54.340 who's listed his name is patrick taylor patrick without a k taylor and this guy is really anti-israel

00:49:03.140 and some of the stuff he's he's he likes to tweet like cenk likes to you know be sexist online and post 0.63

00:49:10.000 this guy is really really anti-israel and he wants to go ahead and be let me see if i can find what he

00:49:17.160 posted online i'll just take me a second but but some of the stuff he has he posted is is really

00:49:23.180 anti-israel and i and it seems like that's a running theme in this in this group also i don't know why

00:49:28.660 it's marxism marxism is always always hand in hand with anti-semitism always without exception

00:49:36.280 right so here here's what he here's what he posted uh patrick taylor it's a time to create a serious

00:49:43.780 list of companies and individuals and boycott them endlessly until palestinians have their own state 1.00

00:49:49.420 and autonomy maybe create an app to make it most efficient and then make it more real for israel

00:49:54.780 you know anyone that could do that at glenn greenwald so so that is uh yeah i mean there's there's a whole

00:50:02.940 strand of you know the research also but they are i don't understand well you explain it but to me

00:50:09.660 there's a whole lot going on here and there's a whole lot going on behind the scenes and alexandria

00:50:15.780 acacia quentes she's i mean if i had to call her a pawn in a bigger game of chess i think that's what it 0.96

00:50:21.040 is you know there's a mess of her this this this brand new congress wants to flood the market with 1.00

00:50:26.560 400 kennedys what's really amazing to me uh richard is that you know you you haven't found anything

00:50:33.720 necessarily nefarious what you found is that big huge money um goes out and tries to find people

00:50:44.040 that will run and do the bidding of socialists and that can get elected and they there is no such

00:50:51.700 thing as a grassroots campaign you know the the story is is she she went out and she knocked on doors 0.99

00:50:57.720 etc etc which i believe i believe she did she worked hard for it but she also has apparently

00:51:03.680 funding and support from uh you know uh a very leftist organizations including uh george soros so

00:51:12.640 it's it's you know they always talked about astroturf well this is astroturf this is astroturf

00:51:20.360 one of my bullet points that i jotted down to for today is something i want to follow up on i want i

00:51:26.780 haven't been able to follow the money yet and and what what i did find and again this is something i

00:51:32.720 haven't even taken a deep dive on is i found where justice democrats sent 600 000 they did an fec filing

00:51:40.400 they sent 600 000 to brand new congress recently but if you go to brand new congress's fec filing

00:51:47.520 they don't show receiving it so there's something really weird going on with the money they're really

00:51:53.080 good at at bundling small donations and putting in a pack here and sending it here that that's going

00:51:59.840 to be a huge footage if i could ever figure it out richard thank you very much keep it up and uh we

00:52:05.700 appreciate all the hard work that you uh you do and i appreciate brains that work like yours that

00:52:11.240 you're just curious and you just start to burrow in thank you so much richard you're welcome you bet

00:52:16.920 he's at uh at philly rich one philly rich one on twitter if you want to follow his ongoing uh look

00:52:26.120 into this that's pretty pretty interesting yeah help out let's uh i mean we'll we'll try to further it

00:52:30.500 as well i mean it's an interesting thing because these groups are going to pop up and try to push

00:52:34.440 this bernie sanders thing forward well we we know that i mean you know george soros i'm i'm all

00:52:39.620 american no you're not you're not you're funding uh socialist ideas and the the socialism that uh

00:52:48.920 ocasio cortez is is pushing now is absolute poison for our republic our sponsor this half hour is zip

00:52:56.860 recruiter okay you gotta find somebody great you gotta find somebody great how do you find them

00:53:03.860 i mean here we are the most connected than we've ever been but how do you find that right person

00:53:11.800 the tinder tinder is no no no no it has no okay so here's what zip recruiter does zip recruiter

00:53:19.360 finds out exactly what you're looking for what you need and then they send your job to the you know

00:53:25.820 100 biggest um job boards on the uh internet but then instead of stopping there they take

00:53:33.620 matching technology which they have and they scan thousands of resumes to find the people with

00:53:39.180 the right experience and then they go out and say hey you might not have seen this but you should

00:53:43.900 apply for this job as applications come in zip recruiter analyzes every single application

00:53:49.100 spotlights the top candidates so you never miss a great match i mean they are right there it's like an

00:53:54.280 hr uh department without having an hr department and even those companies that do have an hr department

00:54:00.180 they still use zip recruiter it's so effective 80 of employers who post a job on zip recruiter get a

00:54:05.740 quality candidate through the site in the first day zip recruiter right now you can try it for free

00:54:11.520 at zip recruiter.com slash back that's zip recruiter.com slash back hire the right person fast zip

00:54:19.900 recruiter.com slash back so that's an interesting thing that he he brought up there's nothing nefarious

00:54:27.900 about about what's happening um and it's it's not shocking however um it's always you know

00:54:36.460 under wraps you know what it is is that the power the same power you know remember george soros and

00:54:44.340 hillary clinton they're it's the same they started media matters together so um now soros is saying

00:54:52.240 let's go find all these socialists and let's go fund them it's the same it's the same people

00:54:57.720 yeah and it's interesting how the resources are being applied i think to follow that it feels to

00:55:03.800 me very similar to the tea party obviously how do you mean totally different ideologically right

00:55:08.560 but like if you think of the tea party was like you had republicans who kind of let us down for many

00:55:12.840 many years and the tea party comes out and says no we want someone really conservative we want someone

00:55:16.740 who's not going to care we want someone who's going to go all the way with their values uh you

00:55:21.460 know i'm sick of these rhinos right yes yes it's it's same similar sort of they're saying i you know 0.97

00:55:27.160 look we're socialists and we're tired of waiting around for your progressive movement we're trying

00:55:32.300 to hide it's time yeah it's time to be a socialist this is something you predicted a while ago that

00:55:36.100 they're going to unmask and just say they're socialists which is obviously happening now uh but

00:55:40.060 it's interesting to see the money now flow from people like soros who in soros wants this to happen

00:55:44.640 no matter how it happens right he wants progressivism to keep going no matter how it keeps going but he's

00:55:49.740 looking now at what's the opportunity his money goes to the to the places where the best opportunity is

00:55:55.160 and while he funded he's always funded hardcore left-wing progressive operations always but he's

00:56:01.100 now dumping money into organizations like this which if you kind of look at it you know all these

00:56:06.500 organizations came up to raise money for this uh political movement and you know people will say well

00:56:11.820 the tea party's kind of gone now and all that however it was still responsible for a couple

00:56:15.920 wave elections in the biggest that we've seen in the last century so it can be that energy even if

00:56:22.420 you don't like the policies can be turned into something um that if you're a conservative it's

00:56:27.280 pretty dangerous it'll be interesting to see because you know the tea party had real believers at the

00:56:32.700 beginning then you started to have the pretenders you know the party started to go into it and they're

00:56:38.180 like yeah that's me too and they weren't no it'll be interested to see how long actual socialists

00:56:44.880 remain back mercury we've had a fantastic run uh with the housing market in the last couple of years

00:56:53.260 and it's really i mean we're about five years into this now where we've seen prices increase

00:56:59.080 and you know who knows what's coming next i know i'm a guy who's pretty nervous about

00:57:04.100 the way real estate can come and go too fast and that's why when you have a moment you're deciding

00:57:10.580 you know i'm going to change uh locations of where i live it's a big important decision you have to

00:57:15.300 have somebody that you trust on your side in the transaction and that's why glenn created

00:57:19.340 realestateagentsitrust.com it's just the place to go you go to realestateagentsitrust.com

00:57:24.800 you put in your location and you're able to look through the best agents in your area these are

00:57:29.700 people who are actually screened that are they go through a screening process so you can find out

00:57:35.040 who has the best results who's good at advertising plans and follow-up and all the important things

00:57:40.520 that when you're selling your house you need to have realestateagentsitrust.com is the place to go

00:57:45.420 if you want to sell your house fast and for the most money realestateagentsitrust.com

00:57:49.660 you're listening to the glennbeck program well they're now saying that apple may become the first

00:58:00.460 trillion dollar company in history think of that think of that it's incredible i mean and it's

00:58:08.360 amazing to see how car car companies car companies the g that everybody bought cars i know but this is

00:58:16.500 more central to people's lives especially with uber and things like that now a lot of people don't

00:58:20.500 have cars and they do have phones um it's incredible though you think of the last five years amazon and

00:58:26.920 apple both had really really good runs right they've all become part of our lives maybe more than we want

00:58:32.100 them to be but you know amazon is up 193 percent in the last five years that is a really freaking good

00:58:38.380 run for company apple is up 491 percent high 491 so is amazon global yeah right and it's you know

00:58:52.420 i mean is it everywhere like apple is everywhere apple is everywhere so you have people buying stuff

00:58:58.200 every day and you're on itunes and everything every single day do they have the market is amazon have

00:59:04.260 the market penetration i mean i it's still a gigantic company right i know that i know still

00:59:09.920 874 billion dollar market cap where like i'm just still trying to figure out why apple or i mean if

00:59:15.500 you were if you had a thousand dollars to put down on a company and you're like i but this one's gonna

00:59:21.080 last this one's going to be around and will affect everybody's life i would put it on amazon i think so

00:59:27.620 too they're so wide ranging there's and that's everything a lot of their money comes from things you

00:59:31.540 don't even think about with amazon which is like their cloud services this is really where they

00:59:34.740 make lots of even you know a good chunk of their money um by the way there's another story that came

00:59:39.300 out today jeff bezos's parents did you see this no this is amazing uh jeff bezos 1995 goes to his

00:59:45.720 parents is like i really want to start this thing i can't will you invest any money they decide to put

00:59:50.980 in 245 573 dollars oh that's a lot at the time he warns them and says look i i want to come to

00:59:58.140 thanksgiving so i we've got you got to know that this is probably not going to work but like this

01:00:03.060 is a big risk they take the risk anyway we don't know how much they've sold and stuff throughout but

01:00:07.800 if they had held on to it today it would be worth 30 billion dollars oh my gosh a 245 000

01:00:14.540 investment would be worth 30 billion today so i mean they may be billionaires we never even knew

01:00:20.620 existed wow um i mean who knows but it's pretty pretty amazing we should tax them more harry in uh

01:00:27.180 no it's a great story i know we but we got to jump on this socialist bandwagon yeah hello harry

01:00:32.900 how are you hey yeah i also invested 245 000 with jeff on the first day so so why are you calling

01:00:41.620 us you should be on your own island do um listen you know i go back to with you guys to before day

01:00:52.260 one i go back to a buccaneer okay you're trying wow okay so i well this is harry you yeah

01:00:59.180 i remember you now you all the opportunity in the world to back up on a statement you made about an

01:01:06.320 hour ago okay go ahead this is on the gun stuff all right or the what you guys are calling 3d printed

01:01:11.840 guns and a lot of stuff you know cody and i know you guys don't really know this because you're not

01:01:16.160 really you know hardware guys or whatever but it it's very it takes everything i have not to buy

01:01:22.560 a new piece of equipment because i just love machinery yeah and and so i you know i mess around

01:01:28.160 with this stuff a lot the thing so number one what cody is selling it with defense distributed is not

01:01:36.640 3d printers he's selling a cnc milling machine that's that's so a lot of people and i know there's

01:01:42.900 also the 3d printing aspect additive yes but the cnc milling is is that you're taking away parts of

01:01:50.360 metal which you can do with a drill press and a hand to a hand work drilling machine and have been

01:01:55.340 able to do that for a hundred years sure but on top of that you part of your argument i think you

01:02:01.740 were just on the way out of a segment and you might have to this might have just been a throwaway

01:02:05.180 line but you said you know this stuff is already available at the patent office glenn that's the

01:02:11.360 point of the patent office oh no no hang on wait wait wait wait harry okay harry harry harry yes

01:02:17.160 you and i are on exactly the same page so i'm glad you called it is available the patent office

01:02:23.140 the patent is what made america and capitalism work it was i think the key to uh to capitalism

01:02:33.180 and if you're making that as an argument to to allow it hold on hold on hold on just a second

01:02:38.640 the so i agree with patents and being able to have the right to patents um and and is my main

01:02:48.380 argument with cody i am a guy who makes a product you know and i don't want people taking my product

01:02:55.580 and just taking it and stealing it and putting it everywhere and i mean we're so what so what do i get

01:03:01.480 and we've had that coming this call on my own channel later what'd you say i'm gonna be streaming

01:03:07.000 this call on my own channel later it's but i mean i'm i'm with you on that this is the argument that

01:03:13.020 i've had with cody you can't take other people's patents and just put them out online his argument

01:03:21.500 is well it's happening already it's going to well that's something that we should debate

01:03:27.400 and figure out how to protect people's patents and the right to their idea that's a separate

01:03:35.380 argument from uh the 3d printing and we just can't have we can't have people just you know

01:03:43.060 putting blueprints out online if they would have said because those are patented um uh and and uh and

01:03:53.220 and uh protected plans not because of safety but because of the individual that held that who came up

01:04:03.860 with that idea we're having a different argument what they're saying is you can't publish things

01:04:09.700 that are dangerous you can't publish and make your own gun well that's that's wholly different

01:04:16.340 that that that genie is is already out of the bottle you're not going to be able to put it back in

01:04:22.000 and i don't want anything anything to do with an argument that says it's illegal to publish something

01:04:30.340 right but i but you know they're going to try to conflate the two right and and i think that it

01:04:41.200 has to be two separate issues i agree with you i completely agree with you that's just not the way

01:04:46.420 that came across to me when you said that on the way out it came across like hey they're available so

01:04:51.280 who gives a crap you know oh no no i don't yeah i'm sorry for that harry uh yeah i mean you know but 0.86

01:04:56.640 but i mean when it comes to the patent issue i mean these are all all patents are the u.s patent 0.99

01:05:01.320 service you can search online right now i mean the what you're are you arguing against his ability

01:05:06.140 to sell them is that what i mean or because i thought he had i don't think i don't think he

01:05:11.300 and i don't and i i have not researched at that but i don't think he has gone on and let's say bought

01:05:19.080 a glock or a sig or whatever and and taken it apart and laser scanned it and then i don't think he's

01:05:24.680 doing that i think the stuff he's the g-code files he's selling are what they claim are their own dd

01:05:32.260 designs and so and so this is a this is an entirely different argument and i'm 100 with you but that

01:05:40.180 is that's where the corporations need to come out and say wait a minute you just can't take my drug

01:05:46.620 just because i've patented and you know the formula you just can't do that that's my formula

01:05:52.220 that's what this is all for that's that's a completely different argument than what is being

01:05:59.240 made currently by the press they're not making a capitalist uh argument for the protection of the

01:06:05.720 rights of ideas and and patents that's not what they're talking about at all you know a lot of this 0.98

01:06:11.820 and i'll just use chuck schumer as the as the coverall for all these idiotic statements about 0.98

01:06:17.820 you know oh guns are going to be everywhere and you get it won't be detectable and they won't be 0.99

01:06:21.580 when you'll be able to get a gun onto a onto a plane and this that and the other thing again

01:06:25.580 the cnc milling that's a hundred percent metal gun made exactly the way that sig or glock or whoever's

01:06:32.400 making it and and these other that sort of balloony looking giant i think you had one on the show and

01:06:39.080 and did you guys i can't remember if you shot it or not but no you mean the one made out of plastic

01:06:43.960 yeah the plastic no i'm not going to shoot that one i know that that's a whole separate argument

01:06:48.320 you know what's funny um buck last night had a guy call in and he says he i think he started out

01:06:54.560 his intro was like oh i'm an orphan from chicago or detroit or someplace and he says i grew up in a

01:06:59.680 real rough neighborhood he says i could make a i could make a zip gun in 10 minutes with 12 dollars

01:07:05.460 in parts and i can make them all day long and they'll fire you know for years and and so the 0.98

01:07:11.840 argument of of you know the illicit gun being out there is is just stupid and i i used to own a gun 0.96

01:07:21.320 it was lost in a fishing accident a long time ago yeah right and it's too bad when they drop in the 0.96

01:07:27.120 lake like that and i hear that happens a lot yeah it's happened to me a lot my entire collection was

01:07:34.520 dropped into a lake accidentally why did you bring them all fishing i don't understand i just i misunderstood

01:07:39.560 the idea of fishing i'm like i'm gonna get those damn fish oh and uh because they were we were going 0.60

01:07:44.400 for flying fish and i thought it was like you know i thought it was like duck hunting every time glenn 0.96

01:07:49.040 yelled pull a flying fish would shoot out of the water that's exactly right and all of the they fell

01:07:54.420 in the bottom of a very deep lake and have never been found anyway well i'm glad we cleared that up

01:08:00.240 because that that got under my skin right off the bat okay so harry let me let me ask you this

01:08:04.580 you have to listen to next hour because i'm gonna i'm gonna make my case uh you know here on on what

01:08:10.160 cody is doing uh and i will include to be very very clear on patents thank you for that um i can't

01:08:16.440 listen i'm gonna be rebroadcasting this well you can wait for a few minutes i mean i mean when your

01:08:23.040 audience has an audience it just kind of pisses you off you know what i mean just no way you should say

01:08:28.160 hey i'm i'm gonna um you know what you should do is you should rebroadcast this broadcast live on your

01:08:35.100 broadcast which would be i mean sure i have copyrights but what the hell you to run a promo

01:08:40.680 so harry one more thing what is the uh uh you know i i do want your i do want you to hold after this

01:08:50.940 because i do want to find out about your your podcasts and everything else but um uh tell me what

01:08:57.320 your stance is on the plastic guns well listen my my wife's father used to work for the fbi and we

01:09:06.960 got an internal tour about 20 years ago and and he took us all around up to that he was in um he was

01:09:15.400 in forensics and he took us up to the the guy that does all the the gun testing and all the all that

01:09:21.080 stuff yeah and and he's he's talking about this that and the other thing with the you know figuring out

01:09:26.680 the guns and and unscrewing when they when they get rid of the serial numbers and stuff like that

01:09:32.080 and i said wait there's no what what about the you know with the undetectability of polymers and

01:09:39.420 stuff and and he says oh no they can't do that i said wait a minute there's no no uh plastic or

01:09:46.040 whatever i mean i'm not a chemist uh a chemist but under the generic non-metal type stuff uh that can get

01:09:54.580 that can contain the blast of and he sort of looked it like you know when you when you catch a kid like

01:10:02.000 uh-oh and he sort of looked like that and i was like okay whatever you said you said there's not

01:10:08.340 and that was a long time ago right right so so it seems difficult for me to believe that there's not

01:10:17.120 already or very soon going to be sure a generic plastic again sure but should we have laws against

01:10:24.620 undetectable guns

01:10:25.940 yeah there probably should be laws against undetectable guns

01:10:33.020 there probably should be it's interesting i mean the nra i think you know agrees uh the nra supported

01:10:39.860 the uh the the law that made them illegal that's what everybody is saying you know they're showing

01:10:45.740 these plastic guns on cnn they're like can people can make these no they're illegal if you make them

01:10:50.480 you go to jail they're illegal but the question is if you're a real constitutionalist that is an

01:10:57.540 infringement they didn't say only out of metal and wood right they didn't say that no no they did not

01:11:04.400 and it's it's an interesting question obviously a difficult one that is developed although i mean

01:11:08.820 it's the guidelines are clear you shall not be infringed and you know this this particular case that's

01:11:14.340 going on now is really more of a first amendment case that it is a second amendment case i mean

01:11:19.020 there's a second amendment ties to it but really this is about sharing information we all know bombs

01:11:24.320 are illegal but the anarchist cookbook uh and we're going to go over this in depth today on the tv show

01:11:28.900 but the anarchist cookbook is still legal uh if you can still go buy it you can still put information

01:11:33.740 out there it's what people do with that information that makes it legal or not yes and you know that is

01:11:38.840 now there are some obviously exceptions with private uh information and there's there's a

01:11:43.320 there's certain things out there that you can and can't do i just don't want to be a part of a country

01:11:48.220 that says you cannot publish these ideas or you cannot publish if you want to say you cannot publish

01:11:56.620 them because they are copywritten ideas right someone else owns them somebody else owns them that's a

01:12:01.900 different argument but to say well this is dangerous we cannot allow you to publish that is a

01:12:07.840 really bright red line that you never allow the government to cross

01:12:12.660 more on that uh coming up in a few minutes and uh pretty extensive tonight at five o'clock only on

01:12:21.280 the blaze tv all right you take your car in there's a little check engine light has been going off or

01:12:28.360 said you go in for just something like an oil change and then they come out and and and they say

01:12:33.940 well it's a little more than what do you mean what i didn't know i did did you have to do that

01:12:38.700 if you if you're under warranty you're like okay cool if you're not well wait can you take that work

01:12:47.580 away can did you have to you need an extended vehicle protection shield and that's what i have

01:12:54.620 from car shield and i will tell you it paid for itself in the first year uh i had to bring my truck in

01:13:02.360 my truck was doing fine just went in for an oil change everything was fine sensor went wrong it was

01:13:08.440 like six grand uh what now the car is like the truck's worth like 15 grand what do you know well

01:13:16.940 it was covered by car shield get your get your repairs covered so you don't have to worry about it

01:13:24.240 because it is wildly expensive to fix your car you need the protection of an extended uh you know

01:13:32.020 extended protection so go to car shield.com call 800 car 6100 800 car 6100 or go to car shield.com

01:13:41.720 use the promo code beck and you're going to save 10 percent it's car shield.com deductible may apply

01:13:47.580 it's good to hear from harry again i haven't heard from him in a long time he would he's been with us

01:13:56.460 for a very long time uh on this program when we started in uh tampa and i don't know how many people

01:14:01.220 are still with us from from the tampa it's like we're going on 20 years 19 years in january this show

01:14:09.660 will have been on that's insane that's just insane and if you've been with us the whole time

01:14:16.580 you're nuts but thank you thank you for that uh all right 3d printing guns what the media is saying 0.81

01:14:25.320 what the truth is and what the real argument should be next 0.99

01:14:30.080 glenn beck it's wednesday august 1st you're listening to the glenn beck program start yesterday

01:14:39.120 with something that chuck schumer said um as he was panicking about 3d printed guns listen carefully

01:14:45.620 sure as we're here today nothing is going to happen from this administration

01:14:48.960 we're going to have to pass legislation because they are just enslaved by the nra okay stop so what 1.00

01:14:59.040 did he just say he wants the president to do something about 3d printed guns that he's got to

01:15:07.000 stop the publishing of the blueprints on 3d printed guns and if he doesn't act then congress is just

01:15:14.340 going to have to well excuse me senator but if you know our constitution all laws are supposed to come

01:15:21.500 from you and then the president approves or vetoes on he doesn't enact laws you do so what do they do

01:15:31.560 they decided to enact a law here is what mike lee had to say within minutes of reading this bill from the senate

01:15:38.900 mr president reserving the right to object i first saw this legislation literally moments ago

01:15:43.840 and therefore haven't had adequate time to review it but i will say this any legislation that comes forth

01:15:52.040 from this body that begins with the following words will attract my attention and should attract the attention

01:15:58.120 of anyone who's concerned about our first amendment and other constitutional rights it begins with the

01:16:03.740 words it shall be unlawful for any person to intentionally publish that ought to be concerning

01:16:10.520 to us to each and every one of us democrats and republicans alike on that basis i object

01:16:15.860 thank god for mike lee anytime anytime any legislation is it is in it is unlawful

01:16:25.920 for you to knowingly publish i don't care what you follow that with it is unconstitutional and

01:16:32.760 unamerican that's not who we are now the problem is you have to ask yourself this one question do you

01:16:39.820 trust people do you trust people well more and more we are being told that we shouldn't trust people

01:16:48.020 even though violent crime is down even school shootings is way down dramatically down from the 1990s

01:16:54.940 we're told you can't trust anybody and we're starting to believe that so if you don't trust anybody well

01:17:00.980 then you've got to have a policeman walk around and say well you can't do that that's illegal

01:17:04.980 but where does freedom begin and end where does your right end freedom of speech where does it end

01:17:19.200 i say it doesn't

01:17:21.400 generally we rule that your right ends when you're starting to hurt other people or or take away their

01:17:33.120 rights that's when your freedom ends you hurt okay well these 3d printed guns they they kill no

01:17:42.400 killers kill the guns don't kill the printing doesn't kill the machine doesn't kill the bullet doesn't

01:17:50.600 kill none of it kills killers kill

01:17:53.080 so that means the printing of the guns or milling of a gun is legal milling already is this is just a new

01:18:03.040 way of milling so it's already legal now you're just introducing the cotton gin

01:18:09.460 okay now it's easy to do oh you want cotton in everybody's hands 0.98

01:18:15.560 well yeah it's already been invented you're not going backwards

01:18:18.820 now printing guns milling guns that's legal the question is whether you can publish the blueprints

01:18:28.040 and here's where an argument could be made printing and milling guns are fine but if you

01:18:35.920 are taking somebody's copy written material well then now now that hurts somebody that hurts the

01:18:42.040 inventor the one who put all of their time and toil into that to invent it and they have a copyright

01:18:47.520 on it this is what created america was the copyright now not everybody agrees with that but i do

01:18:54.000 this is why i would be against somebody saying well i could just print you know here's a lego

01:19:01.020 not lego well no you can't do that you can't do that you can't sell a louis vuitton purse it is

01:19:07.740 against the law do people do it yes will people print legos instead of going to the store yes they

01:19:13.280 will but then you have a whole nother set of problems right now we have a copyright so i don't

01:19:19.380 care if it's a glock or a lego the only argument that i can find is the copyright argument everything 0.83

01:19:28.400 else it doesn't hurt anybody's rights unless you use it to kill somebody

01:19:34.520 plastic guns well they're already banned should they be that's an argument we should be having

01:19:42.040 isn't that infringement of your rights but publishing this is what they're going after now

01:19:47.960 publishing it will be unlawful to publish these things tonight on television i'm going to show you

01:19:55.580 the anarchist cookbook this is one of the most vile books you can ever imagine it's gone through court

01:20:04.940 case after court case after court cases originally printed in 1972 you can buy it right now on amazon.com

01:20:10.720 or bonds barnes and noble it teaches you how to make ricin it teaches you how to pick locks it tells

01:20:16.580 you how to torture people it tells you how to build bombs everything well we can print that

01:20:22.360 oh you know it's been used by columbine it's been used by timothy mcveigh yeah yeah they had it

01:20:29.720 they bought it you know who else has a copy me it's not the book just because i have the book i'm not

01:20:37.580 making bombs i have the book that doesn't make me dangerous that makes me somebody who believes in

01:20:45.940 freedom of speech it makes me in my particular case a collector of odd and rare books okay

01:20:53.520 so should it be illegal no it's gone through court case after court case after court case

01:21:00.860 in fact the guy who wrote it was 19 years old he tried to stop it after he grew up and said this was a

01:21:08.820 huge mistake but he didn't own the copyright he didn't own the publishing rights and so he couldn't

01:21:16.800 stop it he wrote it but he sold the print the publishing rights it's still on the market today

01:21:24.100 we'll go into that later tonight but the guy who's brought us this conversation and it is an important

01:21:32.140 conversation because this is the beginning of the digital world is cody wilson he is the uh founder

01:21:39.480 of defense distributed cody how are you hey glenn happy to see you again yeah happy to talk to you

01:21:45.720 thanks for getting up for us i know you're you know you're kind of like yeah if i answer the phone

01:21:49.380 well i'll i'll talk if not look man i got i hit a wall pretty hard yesterday so i didn't you know i was

01:21:55.920 pretty late but yeah i have to tell you cody i i was watching cnn last night and honest to god

01:22:01.020 listening to them talk about this was like explaining hip-hop to my grandparents i mean it was

01:22:07.300 wow were they uh completely uh they were just completely on another uh another plane um tell me

01:22:16.120 how you respond to what's happening right now well i mean there's a legal response which i'm not sure

01:22:22.500 that you mean i think maybe you just mean how do i process yeah how do you freak out in the culture

01:22:28.340 yeah uh i don't know i look i'm bemused because it's at the beginning of the year they all congratulate

01:22:35.280 themselves meryl streep and tom hanks about the pentagon papers and the washington post bravery and

01:22:40.820 publishing right and then uh tell me about net neutrality and how they fear the internet will be

01:22:46.600 censored and then uh little old me comes around and they sure are glad that they can

01:22:51.740 i don't know make illegal all publishing does it does it chill you to the bone as much as it does

01:22:59.520 me when you hear you know the first lines of this bill where it makes it illegal and unlawful if you

01:23:07.300 knowingly publish fill in the blank no i i mean it doesn't i mean one that's that would just be an

01:23:14.160 obviously unconstitutional law now of course it had to be somebody like me that would get prosecuted on

01:23:19.380 something like that but i'm willing to do that um but i've been fighting chuck schumer on this

01:23:24.560 issue for years and in 2014 he tried to pass a bill in the name of security that would have made

01:23:29.740 it illegal to make a gun you know with or any gun part on a 3d printer so i mean these people are

01:23:36.440 craven and i suppose the only useful thing about what i'm doing right now is that look look at what

01:23:42.600 i have demonstrated these states these attorneys general 21 of them by the way these states are

01:23:48.800 telling you exactly where they are they believe it should be illegal for you to share this information

01:23:53.640 they believe it should be illegal for you to make a gun speak about making a gun i mean it's very clear

01:23:58.300 where these states are going to be within five years time within 10 years time get out if you live

01:24:04.400 behind the blue wall this isn't going to end you know this is going to somehow end with kavanaugh or

01:24:09.920 something they're going right for it they're going for keeps so cody are you a are you a a gun nut that's 0.50

01:24:17.760 like everybody's gonna have a gun or are you a guy who says the world is changing it's no longer 1959

01:24:25.900 anymore and this is just part of the new world and you have to you have to deal with it yeah i changed

01:24:35.500 i changed even some of the laws already like i for five years i fought a cold war a cold war rule

01:24:43.060 um that the state department had and i and i won uh last week that rule essentially changed

01:24:50.200 uh it was modified and soon a final rule will come out so that cold rule or that that cold war rule is

01:24:56.780 over and now right these these attorneys general have to face the fact that uh-oh there's actually

01:25:01.980 nothing now standing in between people sharing plans for guns on the internet and they're in a

01:25:06.440 mad rush to pull me into every court in the union and create some kind of law out of whole cloth

01:25:12.740 does this uh is this any different in your mind than somebody who is already milling their own gun

01:25:20.660 i mean you have to have you know you have to have your own machine shop to make a gun and you can make

01:25:26.160 a gun and you can get the plans to make a gun um and this isn't this just isn't the 3d printer or the

01:25:34.320 or the printer that you sell um which is actually not printing it but removing uh metal um isn't this

01:25:41.440 really the same thing it's just a modern way of doing it yeah this uh this settlement i got and this

01:25:46.940 ruling and the files i posted were actually files for everything kind of every way that you can make a

01:25:52.120 gun or just have the blueprints for guns so i actually only posted like one 3d printable gun

01:25:56.840 file you know the classic one that everybody knows about from a few years ago i posted that but most of

01:26:02.080 what i posted were just pure blueprints and three or four milling files you know these are these are

01:26:08.620 this is post-war technology this is some of the earliest computer code that's that's ever been

01:26:12.640 existed as long as there have been computers there have been gun companies using computers to assist them

01:26:18.420 in their manufacturing so these files are actually ancient in terms of you know the uh internet

01:26:23.260 timelines and stuff again it doesn't matter the subject is it completely escapes people uh people

01:26:30.540 don't want to understand it and of course it's very convenient for people like chuck schumer who can

01:26:35.080 in the name of public security try to throw death blows i guess at the uh at the second amendment and i guess

01:26:40.500 the first so i i i think we disagree on this um and i'd like to hear your argument um to make the case

01:26:49.020 i believe in copyright i i work my whole life i you know i write a book i don't like it when china just takes

01:26:58.300 my book and just rewrites it takes my name off of it and and i get i don't get paid for it um it's what made

01:27:05.200 the capitalist system work um you know if there are non-copywritten blueprints etc etc i don't think

01:27:12.020 that there's any there's any reason why you can't use them to print a gun um however uh when it comes

01:27:19.000 to a copyright if you're printing a gun perhaps for your own personal use maybe um but uh certainly not

01:27:27.640 for turning around and selling them doesn't this destroy the do you draw a line between things that

01:27:34.120 are out in the open already that are that are free from copyright and copywritten material

01:27:39.840 yeah i do in in the case of our in the case of this subject though copyright really only applies to

01:27:47.060 written blueprints or let's say instruction manuals things like that for the most part what we're what

01:27:53.300 we're concerned about are patents you know design patents utility patents things like that and design

01:27:58.400 patents actually have much shorter lives so in the case of the firearms world most of the patterns that

01:28:04.020 are pretty successful and that people use and the files related to guns are actually already expired

01:28:08.800 in terms of patent they're not protected okay so you didn't and i sorry you're using copyright

01:28:13.060 it's my business i'm not thinking patents um if what you have released and what you believe

01:28:19.740 should and can be released is not stuff that has been patented or not even released but not used

01:28:26.740 not made would you agree with the protection of the patent i decline i decline to patent any of our

01:28:33.460 technology and of course the really popular technologies like the ar-15 and these other

01:28:37.860 guns in 1911 these designs have been with us so long that thankfully no one has patent anymore

01:28:42.780 but what i was given the authority to do by the state department what's really important about what i was

01:28:48.160 given authority to do was to commit this information to the public domain to put it there is to make it

01:28:53.440 safe both from claims of of future patents and copyright but also from claims by the government that like

01:28:59.400 well you you can't post this anymore well sorry no it's actually considered in the public domain it's

01:29:03.800 now outside of the scope of these laws so in this sense avoiding intellectual property is actually one

01:29:09.720 of the safest ways to to preserve the information before the law um what about the plastic the

01:29:19.420 undetectable gun uh what would what do you mean the copyright on the gun no is there is there do you

01:29:26.680 i'm i'm trying to figure out you know this is everybody's talking about plastic guns undetectable

01:29:31.880 guns guns without serial numbers uh you know all of this stuff where is there a line at all

01:29:38.840 on the second amendment well what what the our opposition right i'll be in charitable here i'm not

01:29:46.640 calling them our our our earnest enemy i'm not calling them domestic enemies of the constitution

01:29:52.740 the united states i'm calling them our opposition what they believe is that they can use this issue

01:29:58.760 and talk about undetectability but pass laws about traceability so that they can end up creating laws

01:30:05.840 that make sure that no matter what if you make a gun in this country it's either illegal or you have

01:30:09.860 to tell the state about it and that's never been the law in this country and it never should be

01:30:14.780 yeah that came in the 1960s okay cody uh hang on just for a second cody wilson uh the founder of uh

01:30:24.440 defense distributed the guy who all of the 3d stuff is is happening because of him more in just a second

01:30:31.960 first let me tell you about um uh my patriot food supply what is if if something happens the people in

01:30:39.720 california god bless them they had to run out of their house quickly now a lot of them are living 0.92

01:30:45.620 in hotel rooms they have nothing nothing imagine losing everything you have what you have in your

01:30:52.260 bank account you now have to put your family up how are you going to pay for just the hotel room let

01:30:58.300 alone all the food if you have my patriot supply you can grab and go if there is a problem you don't

01:31:05.580 have to worry about food the emergency food supply now here's a special for you this week each person

01:31:11.540 in your household should have at least a two-week emergency food supply and you can get it now from

01:31:15.860 my patriot supply the gifts this week these food kits are only 67 that's two weeks of food each person

01:31:23.640 needs one two weeks of food for 67 it's available this week only prepare with glenn.com that's

01:31:32.400 prepare with glenn.com or call 800-271-63 800-271-63 prepare with glenn.com

01:31:40.700 this is the most important conversation america can have today with cody wilson instead of speculating

01:31:49.700 instead of uh trying to guess what he is doing and what he believes talk to him and yourself cody

01:31:55.700 wilson the founder of defense distributed cody first of all correction you say i was wrong on something

01:32:00.940 oh i don't know if it's what you meant but okay there is a there's a law from the 1960s

01:32:07.460 called the gun control act and it is a law that requires a serial number to be put on a gun

01:32:12.280 but only if that gun is made by a commercial manufacturer dealer or distributor correct so

01:32:19.120 americans american individuals your listeners at home have the legal right to make a gun for

01:32:24.380 themselves for their own use right and they don't have to put a serial number on it that's

01:32:28.380 that's what i just wanted to make sure was clear yeah we're on the same we're on the same thing

01:32:33.260 everybody has a right to do this themselves right now the deal is is do you have the expertise

01:32:38.640 and and the equipment to do it and 3d printing they're trying to make it sound like everybody

01:32:44.420 can be just run out and buy one of these printers which you could you could but you could also get the

01:32:49.600 milling machine and and make one yourself as well it's pretty expensive too i mean they make it seem

01:32:54.600 like this is the easiest thing in the world um cody i'm curious one of the parts points that keeps

01:32:59.000 being brought up against you is the idea that we should not have the right and we don't have the

01:33:05.420 right to create a gun out of plastic that cannot be detected by metal detectors how do you react to

01:33:12.020 that well there i mean there's a law in the books about this although there's never it's never really

01:33:17.160 been serious there's never been enforcement about it it was it was passed when the glock was brought to

01:33:21.840 market and brady it used to be called handgun control incorporated right got this law passed

01:33:28.080 but now it's a real law like on accident almost like i agree i think we can we can pass laws at

01:33:34.800 some level that conform with our security norms but remember there were there were never metal

01:33:38.600 detectors in the 1700s and uh we made it okay we made it guys so but can all can every piece of a gun

01:33:48.580 be made out of plastic the springs the the the firing pins i mean the bullets don't doesn't that

01:33:54.860 show up on i mean wouldn't a bullet show up yes of course um now this gun can be this is probably the

01:34:01.880 most plastic a gun's ever been made out of at least i don't know in a outside of the dod and like the

01:34:07.340 spy games or cold war right i've heard rumor of and i've had years to meet many people who told me

01:34:12.600 about famous composite guns in the spy games of the cold war but yeah but no you need you need

01:34:18.400 metal to to have a firing pin metal in your in your cartridges your ammo okay cody thank you very much

01:34:24.520 thanks for talking to us today and uh we'll keep checking in and following your progress cody wilson

01:34:29.620 so pat gray joins us um i'm just resisting what am i resisting i don't know collectivization of

01:34:40.100 manufacture institutionalization of the human psyche i'm not sure but i do know one thing yeah

01:34:46.400 it's a symbol of reversibility that the gun will never be eradicated from the face of the earth

01:34:50.820 i do know that off the top of his head off the top of his head that's how many times we've played

01:34:55.140 that yeah he's so much more likable now than he was then yeah cody cody wilson was with us how long

01:35:01.460 ago was it five six years ago yeah it was six years when we first started talking remember how crazy it

01:35:05.940 was to talk about 3d printing yeah and uh first started talking about it and saying look this is

01:35:10.320 going to play a role we found him we got him in he brought in those the plastic you know guns and

01:35:16.360 everything else uh and uh since that time he has become uh really quite important in the world

01:35:24.260 uh and we've we had him on and did you hear his last interview with us the time before last i was

01:35:29.620 here yeah for that did we fill it in first too i loved him because he's good yeah i said i played

01:35:36.180 that quote for him i don't know what am i resisting and he said look i was 25 i said i said to him have

01:35:43.380 you ever figured out what you were resisting he just he laughed he was so he didn't take himself

01:35:48.980 quite as seriously yeah as he did back and he just said on the air look you know there are there

01:35:54.520 probably laws that should be written for to comply with our safety norms okay when we were talking

01:36:00.900 about plastic guns yeah um so he's not a hard line on that and also when it came to patent it seemed

01:36:07.160 like he was not a hard line on patents either where if i'm not mistaken the last of the first time i

01:36:12.900 spoke to him he was like i don't believe in patents well okay well if you don't believe in patents

01:36:17.620 and copyrights well i mean what am i gonna he's an anarchist yeah so you wouldn't right but he

01:36:22.280 he seemed to didn't he i don't want to put words in his mouth but he seemed to be kind of okay with

01:36:27.300 he was saying that everything i'm releasing is it has no patent on it seemed to be a more you know

01:36:32.560 mainstream view on that because you're like an anarcho-capitalist a lot of times they'll talk

01:36:36.440 about patents negatively yeah um but that's it's an interesting thing i mean his point however on the

01:36:41.660 idea that there weren't metal detectors in the 1700s i think is a is a key one here when you're

01:36:47.160 talking about plastic guns it's like well the founders didn't say well we you're right to create

01:36:53.620 guns shall not be or bare arms shall not be infringed as long as it's the proper exact materials we have

01:36:58.660 of today like they didn't say that like they it shall not be infringed the idea that they would be

01:37:04.240 like well if it's made out of plastic or some other uh material then of course obviously you can

01:37:10.120 ban them is a i don't know i don't know what legal basis that is i mean it might seem logical

01:37:16.340 and pragmatic but i don't know where that comes out of the constitution yeah i'm just looking up

01:37:20.500 on the deal federal judge blocks distribution of blueprints for creating plastic guns on 3d printers

01:37:24.960 okay well okay you don't have to create a plastic gun it doesn't have to be made out of plastic

01:37:32.000 and what right do you have how can you block freedom of speech and publishing you can't and i

01:37:40.400 can't take twitter facebook fox news cnn i can't take anybody on this because nobody knows what the

01:37:49.500 hell they're talking about i really i watched i think it was wolf i don't remember who it was

01:37:55.060 trying to explain 3d printed guns to his audience and it was grandpa trying to explain hip-hop i mean

01:38:04.540 it was oh my gosh it's it really is embarrassing oh uh there's a there's a great article that came

01:38:12.300 out speaking of this you made this point a couple times in this way which made me think of this story

01:38:15.480 that came out i think pat you talked about it recently um of how to explain rap music to an older

01:38:22.940 generation and kind of trying to make a comparison of like because it's to me i don't under i don't

01:38:28.620 i'm not a not a big fan of rap yeah and so i don't i don't necessarily understand like what these

01:38:35.020 guys roles are in relationship to each other yeah i mean like i haven't put a lot of thought into it

01:38:39.860 a lot of people say to me kanye west is a genius i hear it all the time yeah i just look i mean now i

01:38:44.960 guess you know a lot of people in the audience might like him because of his trump support but let's take

01:38:48.660 that out for a second he has not to me uh shown the that he leans genius all that often he might

01:38:57.440 lean genius in the who should i marry yeah kind of way seem to make a very good financial decision

01:39:04.160 at the very least in that i mean the the kardashians are they are marketing geniuses they are yeah perhaps

01:39:10.200 you guys haven't heard his latest song oh lift yourself up i i haven't do do you have the you have

01:39:16.440 the lyrics you talk about genius in in the final verse i mean it's so you can't argue just read it

01:39:25.040 yeah go ahead poopy de scoop scoop diddy whoop whoop de scoop de poop poop de scoop de scoop de

01:39:37.420 whoop whoop whoop poop poop poop diddy whoop whoop diddy whoop diddy scoop

01:39:49.900 no i mean i mean i can't believe you can't deny the genius of that you can't deny it she loves me

01:39:57.720 yeah yeah yeah oh i'll take that over poopity scoop anything i mean wham bamma lemma whatever that 0.72

01:40:06.140 over whoopity scoop all right all right anyway unreal uh but this is kind of interesting because

01:40:12.940 there was just a an article written about uh how because today's rappers uh the the most famous ones

01:40:25.900 like the the godfathers of rap like jay-z they're getting a little long in the tooth now and so

01:40:32.240 they're getting to the point where our classic rock artists were getting for like me and you glenn um

01:40:37.540 and so an article was just written comparing the uh dad rock bands like the rolling stones would be a

01:40:45.620 dad rock band because your your dad liked the rolling stones to dad rap bands or artists because

01:40:52.940 some of these guys have been around for 25 30 years like jay-z so they compare jay-z is uh is the

01:41:00.440 dad rap just like the rolling stones are dad rock so jay-z is the rolling stones okay but not yet

01:41:07.640 right well i don't know he says now yeah both are legends so if you grew up loving uh jay-z

01:41:16.000 mm-hmm he's he's like you're rolling stones and they're that old i mean well i mean like when we

01:41:23.180 were 49 now so with us in the 80s 49 he's 49 yeah or 90s even he's yeah okay wow all right uh m&m

01:41:31.540 is the eagles marshall mathers like glenn fry is a detroit native who works out his petty issues with

01:41:39.680 witchy women who have lion eyes by making absurdly popular stadium filling uh jock jams later when he 1.00

01:41:48.580 sought a late career boost uh on 2013's the marshall mathers lp2 he sampled joe walsh strategy that also

01:41:56.720 worked for the eagles when they hired joe walsh right before making their most popular album hotel

01:42:01.500 california okay um drake would be akin to tom petty uh tom petty he drake is the rare rapper who

01:42:11.540 makes sense in the context of the older gen x stars and the soundcloud kids um tom petty had a

01:42:18.460 similar dynamic as a cross-generational icon yeah that's true in that he could hang with musicians

01:42:24.060 10 years older or 10 years younger and apparently drake does that same thing okay uh kendrick lamar

01:42:30.720 is bruce springsteen uh kendrick this is this is this is something i never kind of amazing this is

01:42:38.280 something i never thought would ever spill out of my mouth or i've even feel i kind of feel bad for

01:42:43.740 bruce springsteen on that well i mean i don't know much about kendrick lamar but can he also not sing

01:42:49.180 christmas carols is that why they're i'm not sure of that i've never heard of kendrick lamar christmas

01:42:55.100 carol you've heard the bruce springsteen but i've heard the bruce springsteen one way too many

01:42:58.800 stinking times yeah when when when can they stop i would like it to have been about 30 years ago but

01:43:05.020 i'm not going to get my wish on that never approaches the correct note in that song at any

01:43:09.200 time once he's as close to he's as close to a correct note as like you know uh like a jehovah's

01:43:15.840 witnesses to christmas right like they don't celebrate it right so it's like it's like he's

01:43:20.420 just not he is not even attempting seemingly to get close to the tune of the song at any time

01:43:26.500 during it so you've got santa claus is coming to town that should never be played christmas and

01:43:30.280 you've got uh born in the usa which should never be played on the fourth of july never it's so

01:43:36.980 anti-american and everybody plays it regardless they just don't because it says usa in it it must be 1.00

01:43:44.720 patriotic nope nope the chance in iran they're talking about america it must be very patriotic

01:43:55.600 thanks pat

01:43:58.140 interesting uh kanye west is david bowie is in this article as well where they both were super

01:44:06.820 controversial and then everyone said they loved him at the end that's pretty similar to both the

01:44:11.260 career path of both of those guys it's kind of interesting i don't know i i really don't and

01:44:17.440 beastie boys are led zeppelin so you know i go back to kanye with uh david bowie

01:44:24.180 it does kind of work it does kind of work i mean think of david bowie didn't become big until

01:44:31.800 ziggy stardust are you familiar with any of this yeah yeah i mean so ziggy stardust and you know he 1.00

01:44:37.240 can't get he can't get arrested and he's coming over to the united states and he decides i need to

01:44:42.820 hire a pr firm and we're just gonna you know get a group and we're just gonna we're gonna make up this

01:44:48.060 artist and we're gonna call all of the papers and all of the you know rolling stone and all of the

01:44:54.180 clubs and say we hear ziggy stardust is coming in from london is that true and so they start getting 1.00

01:45:00.140 all these calls and they're like i don't even heard of these are things that could not happen in the

01:45:04.920 internet era right yeah yeah yeah and so they he comes over and uh ziggy stardust is here and it's 0.97

01:45:10.680 all the show and he shows up at these clubs and everybody starts covering him and boom there's

01:45:16.240 david bowie i mean so he's kind of i mean you know he starts on a he starts with a sham i don't know

01:45:22.920 that kanye west had the let's dance portion of the david bowie's career though like dancing was a

01:45:29.420 dancing in the street right wasn't that him as well no i think it was just let's dance well there's let's

01:45:34.060 dance was one of them right and then he did the duet with mick jagger the really terrible famously

01:45:38.180 terrible video oh i don't even remember that i may block that no i may have thought i've got to

01:45:43.280 watch that in the break you'll love it yeah it's a it's like the word known as one of the worst music

01:45:47.920 videos of all time okay you don't need to inflict it on me i've probably blocked it you're gonna love

01:45:52.280 it you're gonna love it here this is horrible try this um just a bite okay air pollution in national

01:45:58.620 parks is as bad as the top 20 major cities in the u.s wow really let's go out and get some fresh air

01:46:06.000 why is that because they're downwind of you know air pollution sources you know agricultural uh

01:46:13.660 sources industry major highways urban pollutants i mean actually this i think is a good thing i mean

01:46:21.880 i think this is this says something that our national parks are the air quality is about the same as our

01:46:28.780 urban centers i mean that that shows that we have really gotten our urban centers under control in some

01:46:35.420 ways um all right filter by filter by uh is a sponsor this half hour and i i told you about

01:46:41.960 that about the national parks because we don't realize how much crap is in the air until we have

01:46:48.920 to change our filters on our hvac system now i don't know about you but my air conditioning is on

01:46:55.460 all the time and it is working over time it is doing everything it can to keep my house cool

01:47:01.780 and if it goes out i mean i'll give you my car to fix it i can't live without air conditioning

01:47:09.040 hvac uh filters are the easiest way to keep your your uh air conditioning running and take some of

01:47:16.240 the load off of your hvac system have you changed it yet this summer because if you're running it all

01:47:20.580 the time it is sucking air through and it's filtering all that out and as that gets clogged it's harder to

01:47:26.200 suck the air in and it's harder on your hvac system they carry over 600 sizes they ship for free within

01:47:31.480 24 hours it's family-owned business all the filters are made here in america and they have auto delivery

01:47:37.020 so you never have to think about it again get your filter changed and get it now at filter by.com

01:47:43.160 filter by filter b-u-y dot com

01:47:47.580 glenn back i just got a note from a friend uh at drd tactical if and if you've never seen drd tactical

01:47:58.220 uh guns they are great i own uh uh uh well until i lost them at the bottom of the lake i owned

01:48:05.580 quite a few of them um but they are they're great guns anyway so he writes in he says uh glenn patent

01:48:12.140 diagrams online or on paper do not have any dimensions so it's not possible to look at a

01:48:17.540 patent diagram to make a firearm receiver two 3d solid model files are for ar lowers and uh and

01:48:24.800 others have been on line for the last seven to ten years just search and you'll get the 3d file

01:48:30.260 three 3d solid model file is the only way to program a cnc metal machine and use it on a 3d printer to

01:48:38.120 print a receiver from a plastic from plastic or metal also not sure how many plastic guns can fire

01:48:45.020 more than one round with chamber pressures anywhere from 10 000 to 56 000 psi uh especially the uh

01:48:53.040 especially the barrel and the bolt would have to be heat treated metal or it is one round per gun

01:49:00.040 and a trip to the hospital um i have five patents a six one applied for if someone used tries to copy

01:49:07.760 us in the u.s our patented parts we could sue them but overseas it's impossible to do so u.s military

01:49:14.800 m240 m249 uh m2hb belt-fed machine guns have been knocked off by other countries being sold in the

01:49:22.860 international market these guns are older designs patents have run out so anyone can make them

01:49:27.540 when my patents expire it'll become open ip and anyone can duplicate and make money

01:49:33.420 i mean so all you have to do now is decide where does freedom begin and where does freedom end

01:49:43.640 the senate is trying to pass a bill that says it will be unlawful for you to unknow for you to

01:49:53.240 knowingly publish fill in the blank doesn't matter what it says after that

01:49:58.540 it's at the very least uh should cause you hesitation as it did for mike lee in the senate yesterday

01:50:05.620 uh i mean you know because obviously if it's the publish and it's child porn right like there's a

01:50:10.400 reason to to stop that um but can i can we make can we can we just maybe we should do a show and get

01:50:18.120 some people on here that can make the case for instance why is child why is child porn wrong

01:50:26.020 okay okay child porn is wrong because you have children involved making videos right okay um if

01:50:32.660 you do cgi and there are no children involved is it still against the law yeah this because this

01:50:41.420 went to with the supreme court at one point right a few years ago and then the question should be

01:50:46.300 yes or no okay why and where does where again where do those lines begin and end because

01:50:55.760 everything is changing now absolutely everything is changing it's why i've been saying for a while

01:51:02.220 we've got to brush up on the difference between right and wrong and know what our principles are

01:51:08.120 because everything's going to be challenged absolutely everything you know is going to be

01:51:13.200 challenged join us tonight at five o'clock um don't miss episode on the blaze tv mercury
