The Glenn Beck Program - Inside The Insane $1.7 Trillion Omnibus Bill ｜ Guest Host： Justin Barclay ｜ 12⧸23⧸22

00:00:00.000 We've got no room to compromise

00:00:22.300 We've got to stand together at the chorus of night

00:00:30.000 Stand up straight and hold the line

00:00:33.800 It's a new day, I'm time to rise

00:00:39.700 What you are about to hear is the fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.

00:00:48.160 This is the Glenn Beck Program.

00:00:54.140 Welcome and a Merry Christmas to you.

00:00:57.380 And it's Justin Barclay in for Glenn today on the Glenn Beck Program.

00:01:01.640 We've got a big one lined up for you.

00:01:04.640 Normally this time of year, everything just sort of screeches to a halt.

00:01:09.540 Tis the season.

00:01:10.340 But no, no, they're even working on Capitol Hill today.

00:01:13.620 A vote happening in the House, a $1.7 trillion pork-filled omnibus package.

00:01:21.320 We'll talk about that, the Cary Lake trial.

00:01:23.920 And yes, SPF, in jail, now out of jail.

00:01:28.800 The crypto comment.

00:01:29.700 More on all of it coming up this morning.

00:01:31.580 Justin Barclay in for Beck.

00:01:32.800 Back after this.

00:01:34.560 Justin Barclay in for Glenn Beck today on the Glenn Beck Program.

00:01:50.400 You can connect with me at JustinBarclay, B-A-R-C-L-A-Y dot com.

00:01:55.880 Send me a message there.

00:01:56.840 Love to hear from you.

00:01:57.620 You know, it's kind of Friday going into the Christmas holiday.

00:02:00.820 I think it'd be good to take a few calls today and hear from you, particularly among

00:02:05.840 this, the different topics, the $1.7 trillion pork-stuff omnibus bill that they have, they

00:02:15.340 voted on in the Senate to pass.

00:02:16.960 That goes to the House today.

00:02:18.000 They're still working up until the deadline.

00:02:20.780 They'll get that passed, I'm sure.

00:02:22.240 And then, and then all the fun begins.

00:02:24.780 But here's the number.

00:02:25.440 888-727-BECK.

00:02:26.820 That's 888-727-BECK. 0.81

00:02:30.820 If you want to join the program, love to hear from you.

00:02:33.040 And we'll, we'll chat as things, uh, as move forward here in the program.

00:02:37.800 I just wanted to kind of break down for you so you can kind of understand what is in this.

00:02:43.380 And there's more.

00:02:44.580 We talked a bit about this yesterday and we've been talking about it.

00:02:47.420 Glenn's been talking about it.

00:02:49.440 Um, I know it's, it's hard to understand.

00:02:53.540 I just want to give you a picture though, when you think of a trillion dollars, because

00:02:57.140 we get into numbers like this, and we'll talk more about this later in the hour, but

00:03:02.040 you get into numbers like this and you just kind of lose track of how much a trillion actually

00:03:08.820 is.

00:03:09.100 Somebody called the other day and gave me the breakdown.

00:03:11.800 I said, look, you know, it's, it's, it's unimaginable.

00:03:15.660 It's hard to think about, but a trillion dollars, if, if you're going to count to a trillion,

00:03:20.760 like a trillion seconds, you just started counting a trillion seconds from here on out,

00:03:27.300 it would take 37,000 years to get there a trillion.

00:03:34.620 So that's how much money again, we're just signing off on, you know, the sure this won't

00:03:40.900 have any effect on inflation.

00:03:42.780 I'm sure it won't, uh, it's, you know, no, of course not.

00:03:49.060 It couldn't possibly have any impact on the cost of everything as we move forward.

00:03:58.000 Yes, that's a, that's on the agenda.

00:04:01.060 We'll talk about that today.

00:04:02.060 And I don't know if you saw, but SPF was arrested.

00:04:04.240 He was brought into the country and now SPF has been let, he, well, he's been freed.

00:04:09.180 Sam Bankman freed has been freed and he is out.

00:04:14.080 And I guess that with this big story about how much bail, $250 million and rightfully

00:04:20.540 so people started questioning, there's that much money out there.

00:04:23.900 I thought he lost it all.

00:04:25.040 Where's he going to get that much money?

00:04:26.420 Well, the truth behind that whole ordeal and what actually took place is something altogether

00:04:34.660 different, uh, different, it turns out he just gets to hang out probably in his PJs very

00:04:39.960 similarly to, um, what Zelensky did when he came in, when he came into Congress, picking

00:04:47.100 up some money.

00:04:47.840 Uh, yeah, no, he gets, gets, gets to hang in his PJs at his parents' house apparently until

00:04:52.520 the trial takes place.

00:04:53.780 So that's, that's what we got to look forward to.

00:04:56.000 Day two of the Cary Lake trial has wrapped up and the Cary Lake trial down in Arizona, some

00:05:03.340 startling things that come out of it.

00:05:04.780 She gave a statement yesterday outside of the courthouse.

00:05:06.700 Quick statement.

00:05:07.540 I am so incredibly proud of our amazing attorneys and staff that put this amazing case together,

00:05:13.860 historic case.

00:05:15.320 We proved without a shadow of a doubt that there was malicious intent that caused disruption

00:05:21.840 so great it changed the results of the election.

00:05:24.780 I'm incredibly proud of, of both Brian Blem and Kurt Olson who led up this legal team.

00:05:29.820 We provided expert testimony.

00:05:33.180 We provided experts.

00:05:35.000 The other side brought in activists to try to save face.

00:05:38.540 They admitted that they've known about these ballot problems, the ballot problems, now they're

00:05:42.420 trying to say that it's been going on for three elections.

00:05:45.700 Our elections are a mess in this country.

00:05:48.780 And I am so happy to stand up and say no longer will we as Americans put up with this.

00:05:55.780 We demand fair, honest, transparent elections, and we will get them.

00:06:00.320 And I pray so hard for this judge.

00:06:02.420 I think that he really took in all of that information.

00:06:05.400 I think he listened very closely to what happened.

00:06:07.580 And I am fighting for the people of Arizona, but not just for the people of Arizona.

00:06:11.560 I'm fighting for the people of this country and for our future.

00:06:15.300 If we don't have honest elections where we decide who represents us, then we don't have a country anymore.

00:06:22.560 And, you know, the, you know, the defendants, their attorney said it in his closing, in his closing statement.

00:06:29.620 He said, we choose our rulers.

00:06:31.740 Isn't that telling?

00:06:33.340 This was a selection, not an election.

00:06:36.120 And we in America choose who represents us.

00:06:40.500 And we will restore honest elections.

00:06:43.140 And I will never stop fighting.

00:06:44.940 I will never stop fighting.

00:06:46.100 So thank you.

00:06:46.680 There she is, Carrie Lake. 0.98

00:06:48.800 And boy, I can't imagine.

00:06:52.300 I can't imagine what she must be thinking about and going through right now.

00:06:57.920 There's a lot on the line down in Arizona.

00:07:00.180 Who knows how that's going to play out waiting.

00:07:02.540 It's all of the judge now waiting.

00:07:03.940 But some of the headlines, a day two now wrapped, the trial wrapped all together.

00:07:08.940 This was a quick try to get it out, try to get it done as quickly as possible.

00:07:13.740 But here's some of the headlines.

00:07:14.560 Just to think about this, what was actually happening down in Arizona.

00:07:17.700 And, well, we kind of lose track of some of these things because we get wrapped up in the day-to-day.

00:07:22.380 But it could not be by accident.

00:07:26.720 One of the experts testifying about the key problem.

00:07:30.140 42% of ballots cause chaos.

00:07:34.220 And one of the things that I saw, the numbers are right here.

00:07:37.240 They allowed Carrie Lake's people, the judge allowed, because this is Arizona law, in fact.

00:07:44.040 They allow them to take a look at the ballots.

00:07:46.780 They might have questions about these things.

00:07:48.680 They allow them to go in and take a look.

00:07:51.140 They get 15.

00:07:52.600 Now, that's not a big sample size.

00:07:54.180 But, you know, folks are saying, wait a minute, 15, that's not enough.

00:07:58.380 But even in the 15, they found, and this is something, in the ones they looked at,

00:08:03.060 particularly, I believe it's Maricopa County, the one in question.

00:08:07.520 But the ones they looked at, they found 14 of the 15.

00:08:18.380 14 of the 15 had issues.

00:08:21.520 Now, what are the issues?

00:08:25.840 Mainly that this ballot, 20-inch paper, but the image of the ballot projected onto the paper,

00:08:35.520 that's what happens when you make a copy or something.

00:08:37.440 You put an image on a piece of paper.

00:08:39.940 No matter if you're putting something at your house or wherever this might be.

00:08:44.200 But the 19-inch image projected on a 20-inch piece of paper was the issue.

00:08:53.660 That was the problem, and apparently, that's what caused all the issues in the printer.

00:09:03.000 And when they went to go scan the ballots through the system, when the people had voted,

00:09:07.980 they had filled out their bubbles and everything, and they go scan it through,

00:09:10.680 they kept getting rejected.

00:09:12.440 This is in Maricopa County, day of voting.

00:09:16.600 It only happened day of vote.

00:09:18.260 Didn't happen any other time.

00:09:20.120 Didn't happen anywhere else.

00:09:22.100 Maricopa County.

00:09:24.420 Thousands of people disenfranchised.

00:09:28.120 Thousands of people sent, wondering that day, whether or not, sent home wondering whether or not,

00:09:35.660 their vote is even going to count, whether or not it even counted at all.

00:09:42.460 And they said, oh, no, just go ahead and put everything, put everything in this,

00:09:45.300 in this drop box here.

00:09:49.080 You know, they call it drop, what's it, box three or whatever they called it.

00:09:52.140 No, put everything in the box here.

00:09:53.820 Everything will be fine.

00:09:56.760 And people walked out wondering, what in the world happened?

00:09:59.480 Does my vote even count?

00:10:02.220 Folks disenfranchised, and in fact, who knows the truth on that? 0.58

00:10:11.000 And yet, we learned some startling things in the trial, as you just heard her mention.

00:10:18.600 This is an issue they've known about.

00:10:20.780 Now, here's a really particularly sticky, I would think, legal issue for Katie Hobbs.

00:10:26.840 It's, it's been revealed here.

00:10:30.520 Now, I don't know how much traction this will get.

00:10:33.400 Abe Hameday, which is the, the attorney, the man running for attorney general,

00:10:36.900 he also got to go to trial, waiting for the results of that trial.

00:10:41.460 But this ought to be looked at.

00:10:46.060 Maybe even the sitting attorney general,

00:10:49.460 Brnovich, could look into this as well, because there is a, there's a sticky legal situation here.

00:10:54.440 Let me tell you what it is.

00:10:55.300 We'll get into all of that coming up in just a moment.

00:10:57.020 You can join the Glenn Beck program anytime.

00:10:58.620 888-727-BECK.

00:11:00.480 B-E-C-K. 1.00

00:11:01.940 What, what should happen?

00:11:03.140 Now that we've got the, we've heard from the experts, we've heard the testimony,

00:11:07.220 we found out that there were problems.

00:11:09.420 What should happen?

00:11:11.740 Do they need a new election? 0.96

00:11:14.040 Do you just insert her in? 0.90

00:11:15.260 I don't know if there's, if there's, I don't know what the legal process would be.

00:11:18.160 I don't think that, that would be part of that.

00:11:20.440 But what, what do you do now that you've got all this information?

00:11:23.440 888-727-BECK.

00:11:24.960 B-E-C-K. 1.00

00:11:26.660 Back after this on the Glenn Beck program.

00:11:36.840 Sparkly, and for Beck today, Justin Barkley on the Glenn Beck program.

00:11:39.780 Yeah, we're following the storm, the weather, and all of this snowpocalypse.

00:11:42.620 We'll talk about that, I'm sure, at some point today.

00:11:46.520 But I will tell you, it's wild because this global warming, it's just had the complete

00:11:51.180 opposite effect.

00:11:53.720 We're under a blizzard warning.

00:11:55.220 We're broadcasting to you live from in West Michigan.

00:11:57.320 Grand Rapids, high atop, and right now it's white out outside my windows.

00:12:03.400 It's completely white out.

00:12:04.940 Seven degrees, I think, is the temps.

00:12:07.580 Even lower in some places to the south of us, which is wild.

00:12:10.660 But this thing is causing some issues for a lot of folks traveling.

00:12:14.960 So we'll talk about that coming up here in just a little bit.

00:12:17.120 But boy, the climate change, what is it now?

00:12:20.800 Is it climate change?

00:12:21.760 Is that what it is officially?

00:12:23.060 It's a global warming.

00:12:23.940 It can't be global warming anymore.

00:12:25.140 This certainly isn't warm.

00:12:28.500 It's not warm here anyway, I can tell you that much.

00:12:31.160 And essentially, this is winter.

00:12:33.200 We have this every year.

00:12:35.080 Hey, so back down to Arizona.

00:12:37.200 Now, 42% of ballots causing chaos, a key issue, they said, amongst the 113 examined, 48 of

00:12:47.160 them had this problem, 19-inch ballots produced on 20-inch paper.

00:12:52.140 That was the problem.

00:12:53.440 Now, here's the big issue, and this may be a legal issue for Katie Hobbs, who was the 1.00

00:12:56.920 secretary of state, oversaw her own election to the governor in Arizona.

00:13:02.220 There's nothing to see here, folks.

00:13:05.260 You know, there should never be even an appearance of impropriety in any of these elections, in

00:13:11.300 any of these situations.

00:13:12.740 There should never even be an appearance of it.

00:13:15.060 And yet, that appears, it's all we have these days.

00:13:19.480 You know, you got questions, anytime you got questions about something, you're called crazy,

00:13:23.060 and the FBI now calling people conspiracy theorists when you're looking at the Twitter files,

00:13:27.540 the things that are dumped out, well, I digress, but this is what we're seeing in every story

00:13:33.980 we come across these days.

00:13:36.660 But Katie Hobbs might be in a problem. 1.00

00:13:38.460 She might be in a bit of a pickle. 0.99

00:13:39.720 Here's why.

00:13:41.420 She certified this election.

00:13:43.000 Then you say, well, what's the problem with that?

00:13:45.140 She certified it.

00:13:45.940 Well, the issue isn't just that she certified her own election that she oversaw, but she certified 0.99

00:13:53.200 it, and apparently what just came out in this trial, and we know this now, is that she certified

00:14:01.620 it knowing that this issue existed.

00:14:07.800 And it was still under investigation.

00:14:10.420 Maricopa County still investigating.

00:14:14.000 In fact, I don't know that we were supposed to find that out.

00:14:17.420 I don't know that anybody was supposed to know what exactly happened with these ballots.

00:14:21.820 And here's the other thing, folks.

00:14:23.860 You've got to realize this.

00:14:25.320 In this Cary Lake trial down in Arizona, we would have never known.

00:14:29.920 You would have run around saying, well, that's, you know, that's odd that all these people

00:14:33.560 had their ballots rejected.

00:14:35.800 All these people, they went to go vote, and then it went through the scanner, and it would

00:14:40.480 pop out, and they don't know whether their vote counted.

00:14:42.860 You said, well, that's a little, yeah, certainly that's a little strange.

00:14:45.280 Something must have gone on.

00:14:46.160 But, you know, you might have said, it's just a glitch.

00:14:48.840 It's just a glitch.

00:14:51.560 That's all that is.

00:14:52.620 There's nothing, nothing to see here.

00:14:54.960 There's just a little glitch, or you might have just kind of shrugged it off.

00:15:00.500 Could have, anyway.

00:15:01.620 It turns out, the only reason we find out what caused that glitch is because this thing

00:15:11.840 went to trial, and they got to inspect the ballots, and they actually found out what

00:15:21.340 was happening behind the scenes.

00:15:23.360 Now, your question, and the same as mine, and I understand, I feel the same way.

00:15:26.760 So, okay, now we know this.

00:15:28.180 What happens next?

00:15:29.020 Well, Katie Hobbs knowingly certified an election that had issues. 1.00

00:15:39.740 Any legal recourse for that?

00:15:43.680 What should happen?

00:15:45.080 Not just in this case, but in all the cases when we look at some of the problems that we

00:15:54.180 continue to see.

00:15:55.120 In New York, let's go.

00:15:55.860 I think it's Mark on the phone.

00:15:57.100 888-727-BECK.

00:15:59.580 Back.

00:15:59.840 I'm going to try and work as many phone calls as I can in today.

00:16:02.220 Just, you know, tis the season.

00:16:05.540 Mark in New York.

00:16:07.060 Mark, how are you?

00:16:08.700 Good.

00:16:09.100 How are you doing?

00:16:09.820 Good.

00:16:10.140 So, election issues, whether you want to call it fraud, whatever you want to call it,

00:16:16.600 now we know.

00:16:17.240 We know for a fact at least one of the problems in Arizona.

00:16:20.860 What should happen here?

00:16:23.280 I don't really know, but I know that I live in upstate New York, a very small town, and

00:16:28.000 we had the same thing happening in our very small town.

00:16:31.440 It was my first time voting, so I was kind of just getting used to everything, but walking

00:16:35.020 in, I heard a couple old-timers kind of being like, how many times did your thing try

00:16:39.120 to go through, and the guy said four times, and I was like, what are these guys even talking

00:16:42.320 about, you know?

00:16:43.480 So, I stood in line, and I get to the thing, and it's clearly a strong, it's a black box,

00:16:47.860 a very strong black box with a lock on it, Scantron.

00:16:51.940 The lady goes, all right, put your vote in, you know, Scantron sheet goes in, spits it

00:16:56.460 out.

00:16:56.820 Try again, put it in, spits it out.

00:16:59.500 She goes, hand me that, we'll count that by hand later. 0.96

00:17:02.020 It goes behind the desk in a box, and that was it.

00:17:05.000 That was it.

00:17:05.480 I mean, this is not something I'm making up.

00:17:07.220 This is literally in small town, rural upstate New York, and I was kind of like, I wanted

00:17:13.520 to ask this lady, like, how do I know what you're doing with this vote? 0.66

00:17:16.380 Like, this machine here is clearly made to make sure my vote goes and does whatever it's

00:17:22.860 supposed to be doing.

00:17:23.660 It's locked.

00:17:24.320 It's solid.

00:17:25.200 And now you want me to just hand it to you?

00:17:27.680 Like, I don't want to lose the jokes.

00:17:30.400 And, you know, it's interesting you bring this up, because you're seeing it in New York,

00:17:33.980 so this very similar could happen all over.

00:17:37.380 But let me ask you this, Mark.

00:17:38.780 I mean, just personally for you, did that, did that, like, restore your confidence in

00:17:44.480 the system?

00:17:45.240 Did that, did that do anything to make you feel better that your vote was going to be

00:17:48.620 counted?

00:17:49.320 And that democracy was alive and well.

00:17:51.860 What did that do for you?

00:17:53.160 How did that make you feel?

00:17:53.880 Honestly, because it was also my first time voting, I was, yeah, I was kind of shocked.

00:18:01.080 I mean, if the box, if the machine I was putting in wasn't so clearly made to be, like, unbreakable,

00:18:08.220 you know what I mean?

00:18:09.780 To go from this machine that's made to take this ballot and, you know, make sure nobody

00:18:14.880 can tamper with it, to handing it to a woman I've never seen before to go behind the desk.

00:18:19.320 I mean, it was like, I thought it was like a game show or something.

00:18:23.780 It was like someone was going to come out and be like, I was just kidding.

00:18:26.320 You got punked.

00:18:27.820 You got punked.

00:18:28.420 You're on candid camera.

00:18:29.640 New York was extremely close for the first time in how long.

00:18:33.480 Yeah.

00:18:33.860 I mean, I mean, if this happened to how many people in upstate New York, just in small

00:18:37.660 towns dotted around upstate New York, I mean, I'm not some voter fraud, conspiracy

00:18:42.680 guy, whatever you want to call it.

00:18:44.100 When things are not right, things are not right.

00:18:46.380 Mark, I appreciate the phone call.

00:18:48.360 You're absolutely right.

00:18:49.420 We've got to get this back on track because if we don't stop this, if we don't solve this

00:18:53.440 issue, what's the point?

00:18:54.960 I've heard so many people ask, like, what's the point?

00:18:56.860 Well, I'll give you a little more context.

00:18:58.380 We've got to continue to fight the fight, folks.

00:19:00.860 We can't give up.

00:19:01.780 But at the same time, we've got to solve these problems and we've got to solve them for

00:19:05.860 good.

00:19:06.120 You're absolutely right.

00:19:07.240 You know, too many people have died.

00:19:08.320 Too much blood has been spilled to make sure that this process works safely, securely, and

00:19:14.220 that it works with integrity.

00:19:16.620 Speaking of integrity, the Senate voted.

00:19:21.440 I know it's hard.

00:19:22.360 I shouldn't laugh.

00:19:23.000 But the Senate voted to pass that $1.7 trillion on the bus.

00:19:26.540 Congress gets it.

00:19:27.560 The House gets it.

00:19:28.880 Later today, we'll talk about that, what's inside of it, and more all coming up in moments

00:19:35.100 in the Glenn Beck Program.

00:19:35.880 The Glenn Beck Program.

00:19:38.160 Back on for Beck, it's Justin Barclay now on the Glenn Beck Program.

00:19:56.140 You can connect with me anytime you'd like.

00:19:58.040 It's Justin Barclay, B-A-R-C-L-A-Y.com.

00:20:01.160 Find out how we can stay in touch there.

00:20:03.280 And send me a message.

00:20:04.240 Love to hear from you.

00:20:04.940 Taking several calls today, too, because, you know, it's the last day before Christmas.

00:20:08.880 I want to make sure we end with a bang.

00:20:11.420 888-727-BECK, B-E-C-K.

00:20:14.560 888-727-B-E-C-K.

00:20:16.780 We're talking the snow.

00:20:17.960 We're talking the snowmageddon, snowpocalypse.

00:20:22.020 And it is kind of nasty in some places.

00:20:24.080 Just looking and hearing some of the temps around here.

00:20:26.760 Looking at some of the snow.

00:20:27.580 Not as bad as what we thought we were going to get here, or that they told us what we

00:20:30.780 were going to get.

00:20:31.220 But, of course, keep an eye on that for you.

00:20:35.000 Today it's causing travel issues all over.

00:20:37.560 And I know that it will not be causing travel issues for those in Congress who are voting

00:20:43.840 today in the House.

00:20:44.820 They're already there.

00:20:46.800 Congressman Bill Huizinga from Michigan joins us now.

00:20:50.140 Congressman, you got the Senate just passed this $1.7 trillion omnibus bill.

00:20:56.020 It is just a pork-filled ... I just ... I've been looking at the ...

00:21:03.100 There's a technical term out here, Justin.

00:21:04.720 We call them turd burgers.

00:21:06.680 That's a big, giant, massive turd burger.

00:21:09.880 Yeah.

00:21:11.560 Well, apparently it's also stuffed with lobster, because there's money in here for favorite

00:21:16.640 lobster groups and such as pork.

00:21:19.780 Maybe it's a salmon lobster roll.

00:21:21.280 I don't know.

00:21:21.760 It's salmon's in there like 47 different times and funded the $3 million for a bee-friendly

00:21:29.880 highway system.

00:21:32.300 I'm all about pollination, and we've had issues with bees, but how in the world do you make

00:21:39.200 a bee-friendly highway system?

00:21:41.340 I just ... It's this kind of stuff.

00:21:43.420 And there's earmarks, chock full of earmarks.

00:21:46.520 And here's sort of the insult to injury, right?

00:21:49.220 So, constitutionally, all these spending bills have to originate in the House.

00:21:55.500 We're not even pretending to do appropriations processes anymore, and we're just sending these

00:22:01.400 big beginnings of turd burgers over to the Senate.

00:22:06.280 They add in their spices and secret sauce and earmarks and all the other good stuff, and

00:22:13.000 then they drop it back in our lap with no ability to amend it, review it, anything.

00:22:19.160 So, the Senate left.

00:22:20.600 They're all gone.

00:22:22.560 Those of us that are here not voting by proxy ... By the way, it is almost half of the U.S.

00:22:28.200 House is voting by proxy.

00:22:29.800 So, they're not here.

00:22:30.640 I don't believe it's legal or constitutional, so I am here.

00:22:34.940 I have not voted proxy once in this entire time that Pelosi has been using this as a

00:22:42.000 tool, really, for control.

00:22:44.060 And here we are.

00:22:46.520 And this is the worst parts of how this system is broken, is being shown to the folks.

00:22:54.920 All right.

00:22:55.640 So, I got to ask you, Congressman Bill Heisinger, you guys are going to vote.

00:22:58.940 What time does this vote happen today?

00:23:01.580 Uh, good question.

00:23:03.060 Uh, rules committee is going to be going in at 10 o'clock.

00:23:06.560 They're supposedly doing an expedited, uh, uh, rule committee.

00:23:11.400 And so, each bill that comes to the floor has to have a rule.

00:23:14.160 Can you amend it?

00:23:14.960 Can you not amend it?

00:23:16.320 Time for debate?

00:23:17.480 All those things.

00:23:18.580 So, we're going to have our first vote probably somewhere at no earlier than 1030, probably

00:23:23.960 more like 11.

00:23:24.940 Um, and then there will be either an hour or maybe two hours of debate, uh, on this, uh,

00:23:31.520 on this omnibus bill.

00:23:32.880 And then, uh, some procedural votes that are going to be happening.

00:23:36.300 So, it'll probably be somewhere between noon and two o'clock today.

00:23:40.860 Uh, and then, uh, then, uh, I'm trying to get back to Michigan, uh, see my family.

00:23:46.260 So, uh, I rented a, uh, Ram, uh, uh, pickup four wheel drive and, uh, I'm, I'm driving

00:23:52.380 home because all the flights are getting canceled.

00:23:54.720 Well, good luck to you and God bless because, uh, it's going to be a fun drive.

00:23:57.900 That's for sure.

00:23:58.520 But, you know, I still think it'd probably be a lot easier than dealing with what you

00:24:03.340 have to deal with in this vote today.

00:24:04.760 Here's, here's some of the statistics of what we're looking at over, uh, over a hundred

00:24:09.200 billion dollars after this thing gets passed on, uh, spent on the Ukraine war once this

00:24:15.080 whole thing goes through.

00:24:16.560 And, uh, you know, you can talk about whether or not, you know, we should be, uh, fighting

00:24:22.140 this fight and how much money we should be spending.

00:24:24.420 And, and, uh, you know, Zelensky came over in his PJs the other day and spoke to you guys

00:24:29.800 in Congress, which is just crazy to me on the floor of the house that a guy is in a sweatshirt.

00:24:35.060 I mean, I've never seen anything like this.

00:24:37.060 I don't know if you want to comment on that or not, but yeah, well, we're not allowed

00:24:40.440 to go, uh, onto the house floor dressed like that.

00:24:43.080 It, the, the, the rules require us to be in a coat and tie.

00:24:47.380 And, uh, it, there, there was actually a fair amount of, uh, you know, not to get too petty,

00:24:52.040 but it was like, okay, dude, you couldn't, you couldn't put a tie on.

00:24:55.740 Yeah.

00:24:56.100 And I understand it's, it's about the optics and he's wanting to look like he's in the

00:25:00.440 middle of a siege.

00:25:01.400 Yeah, but that's the problem.

00:25:03.180 That's the problem that this is all optics and American people are seeing through this.

00:25:07.060 So if spending a hundred billion in Ukraine and won't spend the penny to secure our border,

00:25:11.800 I mean, this we've, folks have had it.

00:25:14.660 Yeah.

00:25:15.180 Well, and that's, and that's, you know, again, going back to this Omni, that's, that's exactly

00:25:18.860 right.

00:25:19.280 You know, we are, we are spending, uh, money in the middle East, uh, for border security.

00:25:24.580 We're spending it around the world, but we will not allow, uh, those resources to be used

00:25:30.180 on our own Southern border and, uh, it's a crisis.

00:25:33.500 I mean, there is no other word that you can use other than absolute crisis and disaster,

00:25:39.060 uh, with what's happening.

00:25:40.840 And it's going to get worse if the courts don't, uh, keep title 42 in place.

00:25:46.020 I mean, and we, we know that there's a record number of, uh, of, of crossings that have happened

00:25:52.140 at the Southern border.

00:25:53.620 Interestingly enough, uh, CBP has not, uh, released the November numbers yet.

00:25:59.640 We're 23 days into, uh, into December, they won't release the November numbers.

00:26:04.240 Um, and it's not because they don't have them.

00:26:06.540 It's because, uh, they're political and they don't want this to look worse than what it

00:26:10.960 is.

00:26:11.340 Uh, and, uh, and it's, if we don't have the border integrity, all right, knowing who and

00:26:19.640 what is coming across our border, um, that, uh, that is a recipe for disaster.

00:26:24.780 And, uh, and this administration is standing by, uh, just, uh, encouraging it.

00:26:30.560 Justin Barkley and for Glenn Beck today in the Glenn Beck program, we're talking with Congressman

00:26:34.120 Bill Heisinger out of, uh, West Michigan, and he'll be there voting on the floor today.

00:26:39.660 And I didn't get your answer.

00:26:41.400 Uh, you're, you're a no on this, uh, omnibus.

00:26:44.840 Uh, I'm a hell no.

00:26:46.420 I just thought, I thought I wanted to make that clear.

00:26:50.160 I thought that's, uh, that's what the answer is.

00:26:51.960 Let's be clear.

00:26:52.860 The underlying double exclamation mark, no.

00:26:56.120 So, and one of the things that I think a lot of us have frustration is why didn't they

00:26:59.580 just let this slide so that when Republicans take over here, uh, in January, we could, we

00:27:08.160 could work it out and have a little more leverage to do some of the things that need to be done,

00:27:11.600 uh, particularly when it comes to the border, et cetera.

00:27:14.120 One of the things I know folks want to see is oversight on a lot of these issues.

00:27:19.080 Hey, the FBI, man.

00:27:21.260 And, and what we're hearing now, what's happening with Twitter and the statement the FBI put

00:27:26.260 out the other day about conspiracy theorists.

00:27:29.440 No, we have the emails.

00:27:31.360 Their own people are saying this.

00:27:33.260 Yeah.

00:27:33.460 Uh, Congressman Heisman, this, this, this, I don't know.

00:27:36.240 How do we come back from this?

00:27:38.180 Yeah.

00:27:38.580 Well, you know, look, this is J Edgar Hoover type stuff, right?

00:27:42.240 I mean, this, you have to be scratching your head.

00:27:46.200 If you're a, a, a regular American, uh, looking at this and just even sort of casually paying

00:27:52.920 attention to what, uh, to what is going on.

00:27:55.260 And you have to wonder how the, how these governmental agencies have gotten so out of control and have,

00:28:02.400 uh, have really put our own constitutional, uh, rights and privileges, uh, under attack.

00:28:10.260 And, uh, and, and it's not acceptable.

00:28:12.620 Now, you know, one of the, one of the perverse elements of, uh, passing this, uh, omnibus

00:28:17.100 this way, by the way, it should have been done.

00:28:18.880 I mean, this, this was, uh, this is continuing funding for this current fiscal year, which

00:28:24.200 started October 1st.

00:28:25.800 So we should have had this all wrapped up in September.

00:28:28.700 Um, uh, but nonetheless, uh, here's what it, uh, here's what funding all these governmental

00:28:33.900 agencies through the remainder of this fiscal year through September, uh, means they don't

00:28:38.580 have to come to Congress, uh, for our oversight requests, right?

00:28:42.480 They've got their funding for the year.

00:28:44.240 Uh, there's not going to be any pressure on that.

00:28:46.160 So we're going to have to figure out how we apply that pressure properly and constitutionally

00:28:50.900 as we are supposed to, um, uh, to make sure that we've got those answers.

00:28:55.320 And so whether it's the FBI or, or a lot of the work that I do, uh, is with the Securities

00:29:00.060 and Exchange Commission and their ESG agenda, uh, that environmental, social, and governance,

00:29:06.440 uh, uh, garbage that they're trying to force, uh, not only onto publicly traded companies,

00:29:11.700 but to privately held companies, uh, as well. 0.60

00:29:14.440 And what, what things like that mean for our economy moving forward.

00:29:19.200 So there's, there's a lot of very, very serious issues that we have to tackle.

00:29:23.240 Uh, the, the power of the purse is, um, one of the main tools that, uh, that Congress 0.80

00:29:28.800 has.

00:29:29.140 We have abdicated and given that up, uh, for decades, frankly, now, and it's just gotten

00:29:34.820 worse and, uh, we've got to restore that.

00:29:38.160 Congressman Bill Heisinger, let me ask you before you go, you're, you're also going to

00:29:41.660 be overseeing some of this, this SPF FTX thing.

00:29:45.620 Sam Beckman freed has been freed.

00:29:47.680 Basically they said $250 million bail.

00:29:50.100 They got this guy back in the U S but, but, but that's not really the story.

00:29:53.480 The truth is he's going to go hang out at his mom and dad's $4 million home.

00:29:57.840 And they put some of the equity of that thing, uh, up and that's how he got it.

00:30:01.660 He didn't, didn't have to pay $250 million.

00:30:04.360 This guy's going to be hanging out in his flip flops, probably got his, uh, Zelensky, uh,

00:30:08.860 uh, sweatshirt on or, or I don't know what he's, but he's going to be in his PJs, you

00:30:13.200 know, just having a good time.

00:30:15.620 Um, this is, this is wild.

00:30:19.420 Yeah, it is.

00:30:20.900 And, and, you know, look, this is the, uh, the, the worst parts of Enron's business

00:30:25.160 practices, uh, along with Bernie Madoff.

00:30:27.840 Uh, and this is just outright fraud and, uh, the, the notion that, uh, these, these really

00:30:33.820 kids had any business running these multi-billion dollar and multi-national companies, uh, is 0.75

00:30:40.860 ridiculous.

00:30:41.460 They used QuickBooks for their, uh, yeah, which is like, it was a decent program and you just 0.81

00:30:50.540 don't want to use it for a billion dollar companies.

00:30:52.180 Yeah, exactly.

00:30:53.460 And multinational, uh, you know, uh, international trades going on.

00:30:57.340 And, uh, you know, at the, at the end of the day, um, the institutional investors who

00:31:03.540 supposedly are very savvy investors, uh, got, uh, got sucked into this.

00:31:09.020 They found a politically progressive, very smart, uh, entrepreneur who was going to quote

00:31:15.660 unquote, re-imagine capitalism and, uh, and all while making them gobs of money.

00:31:20.960 Yeah.

00:31:21.540 Well, and they also sent half of it back to Maxine Waters and the rest of them.

00:31:25.660 I mean, they all took the money too, didn't they?

00:31:27.980 Yeah.

00:31:28.600 And, uh, that, that was, uh, that was, uh, that was a huge part of it is, uh, that his

00:31:33.860 growing influence that was here in Washington.

00:31:35.920 So whether they were on wall street or whether they were in Silicon Valley or whether they

00:31:39.880 were here in Washington, DC, uh, people were just fawning over this guy and, uh, and,

00:31:45.860 and, and, and obviously it unraveled and I'm glad it did.

00:31:49.080 It's unthinkable.

00:31:50.400 I appreciate you taking the time to talk with us.

00:31:52.280 Uh, appreciate you giving us the answer on your hell no vote.

00:31:54.800 We appreciate that as well.

00:31:56.080 Uh, Congressman Bill Heisig, thank you very much for taking the time today.

00:32:01.100 Hey, Merry Christmas to everybody and, uh, and safe travels for those that are out traveling

00:32:06.180 and, uh, and just please know this, we're going to keep fighting for the American taxpayer.

00:32:11.840 And, uh, we are, uh, you've got a group of us out here in Washington.

00:32:15.280 We're very eager to get back in the majority, but we have to use that majority for, for the

00:32:19.380 right things.

00:32:20.060 And, and, uh, and we're hopeful that we're going to be able to do that.

00:32:23.460 Yeah.

00:32:23.820 I appreciate it.

00:32:24.680 Thank you, my friend.

00:32:25.420 Uh, Merry Christmas to you.

00:32:28.220 He's the craziest part about this Sam Bankman freed thing.

00:32:30.760 He's out $4 million, uh, $4 million home.

00:32:33.680 I guess that's on the line or part of it at least.

00:32:35.640 He's just hanging out mom and dad's house.

00:32:38.380 It's like Christmas vacation for him.

00:32:40.900 It's Chevy Chase Christmas vacation.

00:32:43.080 He's going to do some sledding later on or what?

00:32:44.940 I don't know, but that's, this guy's out.

00:32:48.020 He's just, I mean, you're talking about the crypto comment and how many people lost it

00:32:52.060 all, right?

00:32:53.000 Because of this guy.

00:32:53.960 And yet people that just took like a tour, they took a walk.

00:32:56.820 The grandmas that took a walk through the Capitol, uh, they're still locked up in, uh,

00:33:03.480 in jail cells in Washington DC, in dungeons.

00:33:05.800 It's just nuts, but it's all part of.

00:33:09.120 But we're seeing this sort of double, well, the double standards that we continue to deal

00:33:14.120 with.

00:33:14.540 Barkley in for Beck today in the Glenn Beck program.

00:33:16.700 Quick break.

00:33:17.200 We'll talk to you coming up too at 888-727-BECK.

00:33:20.900 Beck, that's 888-727-BECK.

00:33:23.820 Back after this on the Glenn Beck program.

00:33:26.380 Stand up!

00:33:27.560 This is the Glenn Beck program.

00:33:29.800 Keep it an eye on the weather.

00:33:51.840 4,000 flights at least already canceled.

00:33:54.260 Lots of snow.

00:33:54.960 High winds.

00:33:55.660 Freezing rain throughout the country.

00:33:57.800 Sub-zero temperatures.

00:33:59.000 Power outages.

00:33:59.660 Fox News has got this bug that tells you how many people are without power throughout the

00:34:05.300 country in different places.

00:34:07.580 You know, watching all of this.

00:34:08.980 But I think it's interesting to note this, of course, they'll say it's climate change.

00:34:15.000 It's not global warming anymore.

00:34:16.720 Can't say that because this is not, it's not very warm.

00:34:21.340 In fact, where I'm at right now, I'm looking at a balmy 7.

00:34:25.280 And I think even folks like south of me are even, are even colder.

00:34:32.440 So we can't say it's global, we can't say it's global warm anymore.

00:34:35.320 But they've gone throughout the entire, you know, back in the 70s, they called this, what,

00:34:39.760 the coming global ice age.

00:34:41.520 Just this thing about the weather, it just changes.

00:34:43.460 Now, whether you want to say that the climate is always changing.

00:34:46.960 In fact, it looks like it, it might be that that's the case.

00:34:50.860 Many would say, of course, we're supposed to trust the science, right?

00:34:53.920 Like the experts and all that.

00:34:57.220 But only the certain ones.

00:34:58.340 We know the story, only certain ones.

00:35:00.560 Some would say the sun is kind of the big driver of all of this.

00:35:05.280 The sun, believe it or not.

00:35:07.700 But we're told it's your SUV.

00:35:10.320 So don't forget that if you're out and about trying to get your Christmas presents

00:35:14.580 and get everything, you know, picked up today.

00:35:17.160 Don't you know, your SUV, don't drive that.

00:35:19.860 You're just going to make things worse.

00:35:21.500 You're going to make it worse.

00:35:24.300 Lots to discuss.

00:35:25.700 And, of course, always a pleasure in the Glenn Beck program inside.

00:35:30.620 Whether you're warm and cozy, snuggling up by the fire,

00:35:33.480 you're outside working in this thing, keeping everybody on track,

00:35:36.040 we appreciate you and everything you do.

00:35:38.180 Thank you for being here with us today.

00:35:39.900 Let's stay in touch.

00:35:41.400 Go to justinbarclay.com, B-A-R-C-L-A-Y.com.

00:35:45.220 And reach out, we can connect.

00:35:46.440 And check theblaze.com for all of the latest updates because, you know,

00:35:51.360 the news never stops.

00:35:53.920 We're wishing you the best, whether you're sticking with us or that's it for you.

00:36:00.300 Back next time on the Glenn Beck program.

00:36:01.960 This is the Glenn Beck program.

00:36:04.880 We've got no room to compromise.

00:36:26.840 We've got to stand together.

00:36:31.340 What you are about to hear is the fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.

00:36:52.120 This is the Glenn Beck program.

00:36:57.080 Stand up!

00:36:58.560 Now, welcome, man, and a Merry Christmas to you.

00:37:01.080 It's Justin Barkley in for Glenn Beck today on the Glenn Beck program

00:37:03.840 as we are full-blown in the season.

00:37:07.500 We're watching the storm throughout the country,

00:37:10.400 making its way mostly to the East Coast right now.

00:37:12.580 I've got to tell you, we're hearing a lot about the impact of this storm.

00:37:16.420 I've got some things that I want to share about it as well.

00:37:19.880 But a story out of my own backyard that I just,

00:37:23.380 I've been hearing a lot about, Christians under fire.

00:37:27.380 And it's not just Christians.

00:37:28.420 It's folks of all faith.

00:37:29.740 Faith under fire itself.

00:37:33.440 I want you to hear about this couple that's going through it right now,

00:37:36.980 how they're facing it.

00:37:37.880 I think there's a lesson in it.

00:37:40.860 Share their story and more coming up after this in the Glenn Beck program.

00:37:44.480 So they're saying today thousands of flights canceled already,

00:38:01.460 and I'm sure this is going to be an issue for travel.

00:38:04.420 Folks without power in states all across the country,

00:38:07.700 we'll talk about some of that coming up and what the storm actually looks like.

00:38:11.220 And my view of it from where I sit in Michigan,

00:38:14.820 which is very cold and very snowy nevertheless,

00:38:17.960 but we'll talk about it all coming up, the impact.

00:38:21.720 And what you may not be hearing or seeing behind the scenes

00:38:25.420 of everything that's breathlessly reported on television right now

00:38:28.480 because, you know, everything's a big emergency.

00:38:31.380 Everything's a crisis.

00:38:32.300 And believe it or not, yes, everything,

00:38:33.700 we do have a lot of crises going on one after the other.

00:38:38.300 Justin Barkley in for Glenn Beck.

00:38:39.520 We'll try and make sense of it all this morning.

00:38:41.380 You want to stay in contact with me, justinbarclay.com, B-A-R-C-L-A-Y.com.

00:38:45.840 But I'd love to hear from you, so send me a message there on my website,

00:38:48.740 or you can call 888-727-B-E-C-K, 888-727-B-E-C-K.

00:38:53.540 I'd like to put a couple of more phone calls on here today

00:38:56.620 just as we get a little closer to the holiday season

00:38:58.660 and wrap things up with a bang.

00:39:00.880 But first, I want to tell you about a couple who have been through it.

00:39:05.460 And they are folks who entrepreneurs decided they were going to start their own business.

00:39:14.380 A couple of faith, and that business has happened to be a wedding venue.

00:39:20.000 Nick and Hannah Natale on the phone with us right now.

00:39:22.560 How are you guys?

00:39:24.160 You're very good.

00:39:24.860 How are you?

00:39:25.240 Merry Christmas to you.

00:39:27.760 Your story is really fascinating.

00:39:30.560 You both worked in the industry.

00:39:32.500 I guess, Nick, you were in the food kind of as a chef.

00:39:36.380 And then, Hannah, you were a photographer.

00:39:38.500 Is that right?

00:39:39.820 That's right.

00:39:40.480 Yep.

00:39:41.220 So you guys did these things before, and I guess you get married,

00:39:45.580 and you decide somewhere down the line that you've got a dream,

00:39:49.220 which is opening up a venue.

00:39:52.640 And you happened upon a church, a beautiful church that needed a ton of work.

00:39:57.520 What year was it that you guys made decide to make this leap

00:40:00.500 and get into that church and start the process of really renovating this thing

00:40:06.760 and cleaning it up?

00:40:09.080 Yeah.

00:40:09.360 So we found this space in 2018, the beginning of 2018.

00:40:13.880 And it took us only just, I think, about three or four months to get in the building,

00:40:20.860 see it with a realtor, purchase it.

00:40:23.800 It was fast.

00:40:24.820 We just knew when we saw it and we got in it, it was the one that we wanted,

00:40:29.500 despite the state that it was in.

00:40:33.000 And, yeah, from there, it was a four-year journey to get open just this summer in June of 22.

00:40:40.380 You had COVID, you had all kinds of stuff that you guys went through.

00:40:44.920 But you persevered, and you said, we're going to get open.

00:40:48.100 But, you know, most folks, when they get open,

00:40:50.660 they're probably feeling some sort of relief, and, oh, my goodness, here we go.

00:40:53.580 You're probably hoping to feel that way, too, until, I mean, it really hit the fan,

00:40:58.000 and your faith has come under fire because you sort of mentioned

00:41:03.640 that it was going to be how you do business.

00:41:06.960 Now, I understand that sort of the way the world works now, the way culture is.

00:41:14.120 They don't mind you have your faith, they'll tell you,

00:41:16.600 but just as long as you keep that private.

00:41:18.040 You're not allowed to talk about it.

00:41:20.960 You're not allowed to practice it in public, apparently,

00:41:24.200 and that's what you guys found because you've been under attack

00:41:28.580 by a mob of the cancel culture folks.

00:41:31.720 Just tell us a little bit about what happened to you and when it all started.

00:41:39.980 Yeah, well, going into the first year of business,

00:41:43.340 we were hoping to get open in February.

00:41:45.980 Because of construction and everything, we didn't get open until June, late June,

00:41:50.720 and we had 30 weddings booked for, you know, within a five-month span.

00:41:55.240 So we were really excited about that, off to a great start.

00:41:59.080 And then 13 days after we opened, we had someone reach out,

00:42:05.760 ask us if we host LGTBQ weddings.

00:42:12.300 And with Nick and I in our faith,

00:42:15.060 it was just something that we felt so strongly about

00:42:18.880 to hold to our values as we opened this business.

00:42:22.320 And, you know, we're here to serve the Lord.

00:42:25.500 We're here to serve Jesus.

00:42:27.400 We're not here to serve the people.

00:42:29.040 And so it was just, you know, we couldn't,

00:42:33.160 we just couldn't do that.

00:42:34.680 Like our hearts would not be able to,

00:42:37.400 you know, continue with that kind of business

00:42:40.420 and teach our kids one way at home

00:42:43.220 and then run our business a different way.

00:42:45.200 Like this is just, we're all in for Jesus.

00:42:47.360 And that's, no matter what we do in life,

00:42:49.600 that's how we're going to run it.

00:42:50.740 And so we responded honestly that way.

00:42:53.440 And that was on June 30.

00:42:56.400 And that person that asked screenshotted

00:43:00.420 that conversation that I had with her

00:43:02.780 and shared it all over her Instagram.

00:43:05.660 And by the morning, it had just spread like wildfire.

00:43:08.640 And it was, it was everywhere.

00:43:11.900 The hate, just, I mean, and from there on out,

00:43:16.640 like it's been just hate.

00:43:20.440 They just think we hate people.

00:43:22.000 And that is not the case at all.

00:43:24.000 They're just painting this picture 0.56

00:43:25.460 that we are the most evil, hateful people.

00:43:27.960 And, you know, yeah, like I said,

00:43:30.800 that's not the case.

00:43:31.980 We want to celebrate love

00:43:33.480 and the way God intended love to be celebrated.

00:43:37.460 And just this covenant between a man and a woman and God.

00:43:41.260 And so that's kind of where we're at today.

00:43:45.580 We haven't booked really much since we came out with our stance.

00:43:52.500 Nick, I want to ask you a little bit about what has happened

00:43:54.900 and the attacks that have come.

00:43:56.220 You guys aren't looking to discriminate against anyone.

00:43:59.760 You're just looking to conduct business

00:44:02.340 the way your faith, in accordance with your faith.

00:44:04.720 And you've been attacked.

00:44:08.540 It seems like this made the news.

00:44:10.320 You've been attacked online.

00:44:12.160 And that's caused people to decide

00:44:14.020 they're not going to come to your venue.

00:44:16.540 They're not going to have weddings or events there.

00:44:20.520 But it really also has, I think,

00:44:23.580 showed you quite a bit about who you are

00:44:25.720 and who God is throughout the whole process.

00:44:29.620 Yeah.

00:44:30.060 You know, I think one of the hardest walks

00:44:33.360 that you can have is, you know,

00:44:36.240 being humble and submitting to God's plan.

00:44:39.240 And that can be very difficult for everybody.

00:44:44.920 It's been extremely difficult for me.

00:44:47.600 As a man, we tend to think that we can just fix it ourselves

00:44:52.540 and put it in our control

00:44:54.360 and we'll just take care of it type mentality.

00:44:56.880 And it's been a lot of our prayers lately

00:45:00.720 has been, you know,

00:45:04.400 God, what do you want with the space?

00:45:06.400 What are you trying to teach us through this?

00:45:08.580 Why are we going through this?

00:45:11.780 Despite the outcome.

00:45:13.500 I mean, we have to be very realistic

00:45:15.200 in our financial state that

00:45:16.720 this might not be happening

00:45:19.680 and we might be having to close our doors at some point.

00:45:23.020 And that's maybe what God wants.

00:45:24.880 Um, and he wants to teach us that

00:45:28.520 standing for him and fighting for him

00:45:30.660 was more of what he wanted us to go through

00:45:34.120 and for people to see.

00:45:35.700 Um, you know, we've got a great support group

00:45:38.360 through church, through my men's group,

00:45:40.680 through friends, through family.

00:45:42.060 And I think people keep telling us that

00:45:44.340 is we don't know what

00:45:45.860 the purpose of this is

00:45:48.140 probably until it's all over

00:45:50.760 and maybe years down the road.

00:45:52.240 We won't know what, what his intentions were.

00:45:55.640 Um,

00:45:56.360 and that's, that's difficult

00:45:58.500 because like you said,

00:46:00.660 we're entrepreneurs.

00:46:01.300 We opened a business.

00:46:02.780 We, we have all these,

00:46:04.360 you know, projections

00:46:05.780 and, and grandiose visions

00:46:08.740 of what our business is going to be.

00:46:11.240 And then this has really halted that

00:46:13.640 and, and made us stop and say,

00:46:15.680 okay, Lord, what do you want

00:46:16.880 with us and with this space?

00:46:21.220 Well, let me ask you,

00:46:22.660 cause I know you guys have a lot on line.

00:46:24.100 Anytime you have to open a business

00:46:25.700 or you, you, you put a lot on the line.

00:46:27.700 Um, what do you stand to lose

00:46:29.620 if this doesn't work?

00:46:33.040 Um, well,

00:46:34.380 we can say, you know,

00:46:36.900 it's, it's a multimillion dollar project.

00:46:38.720 It's, it's over seven figures.

00:46:41.080 Um, and, and it's through an SBA loan.

00:46:44.860 Um, and you know,

00:46:48.320 that's, it's a lot of money for us

00:46:50.480 that would really put us,

00:46:52.380 well, obviously put us out of business,

00:46:54.900 closing the doors and, um,

00:46:57.160 and it's our livelihood.

00:46:58.600 Yeah.

00:46:59.160 So like,

00:47:01.720 so gone,

00:47:03.180 that's it.

00:47:05.760 Yeah, pretty much.

00:47:09.560 You know, I,

00:47:10.860 I understand that you have,

00:47:12.340 you've kind of faced this reality.

00:47:14.360 Um, there's a give,

00:47:15.860 send, go set up to,

00:47:17.000 to help these folks,

00:47:17.980 uh, out by, by the way.

00:47:20.360 Um, I want to talk about the,

00:47:22.140 the attacks that,

00:47:23.220 that, that have been made,

00:47:24.140 um, and how you've handled them.

00:47:25.680 Cause I think that,

00:47:27.160 more than anything that has given you.

00:47:29.720 In fact, Nick,

00:47:30.780 you told me last night when we were talking about this,

00:47:32.660 that you,

00:47:34.340 you have, uh,

00:47:35.160 been able to have some really good conversations with people one-on-one.

00:47:39.520 I think there's a difference.

00:47:40.320 And we get into groups of people,

00:47:41.780 we get this mob mentality,

00:47:43.160 um,

00:47:44.880 that,

00:47:45.400 that can take place,

00:47:46.560 but one-on-one we've kind of lost that,

00:47:48.580 whether it's social media or some of the things that we see nowadays,

00:47:51.280 this mob mentality takes over.

00:47:54.340 What are some of the attacks that have happened that have come your way?

00:47:57.520 Some of the things that you've heard and then how,

00:47:59.260 how have you counted them and,

00:48:01.000 and been able to have good conversations with people and maybe be a shining

00:48:06.620 example of,

00:48:07.480 of,

00:48:07.840 uh,

00:48:08.040 of,

00:48:08.480 of,

00:48:08.540 of,

00:48:08.600 of your faith in that process.

00:48:11.980 Yeah.

00:48:12.900 Um,

00:48:13.980 you know,

00:48:14.700 most,

00:48:15.960 most of what we've received has been on social media and it's,

00:48:21.180 you know,

00:48:21.980 it's anywhere from threats to your business,

00:48:26.440 threats to your livelihood.

00:48:29.080 Um,

00:48:29.820 people have made comments about comments on pictures of me with my

00:48:34.280 children,

00:48:34.680 calling me a groomer.

00:48:36.720 Um,

00:48:37.660 Hannah has received phone calls that are just,

00:48:41.660 I can't say it on live radio.

00:48:45.480 I assume,

00:48:46.240 uh,

00:48:46.820 just some nasty stuff.

00:48:48.600 Uh,

00:48:49.200 you know,

00:48:49.900 wishing she'd be barren for the rest of her life. 1.00

00:48:53.280 Uh,

00:48:53.760 people were making false inquiries,

00:48:56.060 for events at our space online.

00:48:59.080 Um,

00:48:59.820 some of them would put,

00:49:01.600 you know,

00:49:02.000 the event type child sacrifice,

00:49:04.020 uh,

00:49:04.860 guest count,

00:49:05.600 six,

00:49:05.900 six,

00:49:06.160 six.

00:49:07.020 Um,

00:49:07.960 the person who's hosting the event is Satan,

00:49:10.240 um,

00:49:11.300 comments about things that Jesus could do with his male appendages,

00:49:16.020 uh,

00:49:16.740 to himself. 0.85

00:49:17.460 Just crazy.

00:49:19.400 Like you read it and you're like,

00:49:22.280 how,

00:49:23.120 how do we go from,

00:49:25.680 we believe marriage to be a man and woman to death threats,

00:49:29.360 pedophilia,

00:49:30.040 uh,

00:49:31.320 you know,

00:49:31.700 child sacrifices.

00:49:33.540 Someone called my mom.

00:49:35.320 Somehow they got her number,

00:49:36.600 left a voicemail on her phone,

00:49:39.160 berating her for raising me.

00:49:41.960 Um,

00:49:42.900 how have you,

00:49:43.620 how have you countered this?

00:49:45.640 I don't want to say far back.

00:49:46.540 Cause I think you've not fought in the ways that you probably want to.

00:49:50.680 But sometimes the ways that some might think about it,

00:49:53.580 but how have you countered some of this?

00:49:57.080 Honestly,

00:49:57.520 through community,

00:49:58.360 um,

00:49:59.220 our church,

00:50:00.060 our,

00:50:00.520 our pastor,

00:50:01.880 um,

00:50:02.540 my men's group has been great.

00:50:04.640 Um,

00:50:05.500 I think what I said to you last night was,

00:50:07.800 yeah,

00:50:08.600 I'm,

00:50:08.800 I'm a rather large,

00:50:10.120 bald white man with a beard,

00:50:12.480 which is basically the antichrist in this society.

00:50:16.360 And,

00:50:17.020 you know,

00:50:18.080 I think there would be a stereotype to how I would,

00:50:21.060 how I would respond based on how I look.

00:50:23.960 And everybody's just told me,

00:50:26.320 wouldn't it be amazing for you to just shine God's light and not respond with

00:50:32.140 hate and,

00:50:33.460 you know,

00:50:34.660 try to speak love into the situation.

00:50:36.700 And I think that's what I've tried to do anytime we've had media approach us

00:50:43.560 or,

00:50:44.120 um,

00:50:45.780 you know,

00:50:46.560 I have had conversations with people,

00:50:48.600 um,

00:50:49.480 with the opposing view once a couple at a wedding that we were hosting.

00:50:54.020 And it was,

00:50:55.120 those are the best conversations you could have because you're not out to

00:50:59.540 change someone's opinion or,

00:51:01.240 or belief.

00:51:01.920 You're just voicing the depth of your belief versus a tagline on social media

00:51:08.480 or the news,

00:51:09.280 right?

00:51:10.120 Homophobic couple opens wedding venue.

00:51:12.100 No,

00:51:12.460 that's not us.

00:51:14.000 And when you actually get to have a conversation with people and say,

00:51:16.520 this is what we believe.

00:51:18.140 And this is why we're running our business this way.

00:51:20.880 It doesn't have to result in all of this that's going on.

00:51:23.940 I want to ask you about legal issues.

00:51:25.580 We've got to take a quick break though.

00:51:26.640 Cause you've,

00:51:27.020 you've come across some of those as well.

00:51:29.820 Um,

00:51:30.320 you're under fire there.

00:51:31.660 This couple is in Michigan,

00:51:33.520 this grand Rapids couple.

00:51:35.320 Um,

00:51:35.860 you can help them.

00:51:37.020 We'll tell you how,

00:51:38.080 and maybe they can help you when it comes to fighting back and finding out

00:51:44.660 where that line is.

00:51:45.740 Because folks,

00:51:46.660 this is not the only incidents you're going to have to figure out where your

00:51:51.300 line is and whether or not you intend to stand in the future.

00:51:55.680 Um,

00:51:56.120 we're seeing faith under fire in a lot of different ways.

00:51:58.860 We'll continue this conversation right after this,

00:52:02.020 Justin Barkley and for Glenn today on the Glenn Beck program.

00:52:12.200 Talking with Nick and Hannah Natale right now,

00:52:14.420 the Glenn Beck program,

00:52:15.280 they're a couple who started a wedding venue.

00:52:18.200 And as they started to get going,

00:52:21.060 somebody inquired about a same sex marriage.

00:52:23.980 They said,

00:52:24.640 because of their faith,

00:52:26.340 they just can't participate in that.

00:52:28.620 They're not homophobic,

00:52:29.520 but they say they have Christian business values and their faith now is,

00:52:33.360 is under fire.

00:52:33.960 You guys actually,

00:52:35.080 uh,

00:52:35.340 Nick and Hannah,

00:52:35.900 you've,

00:52:36.220 you've,

00:52:36.640 you've had some legal issues.

00:52:38.060 The city has an ordinance,

00:52:39.700 um,

00:52:41.540 that apparently has come up into the discussion here.

00:52:47.060 You guys have gone to court on this,

00:52:48.180 but actually the news on this,

00:52:50.540 uh,

00:52:51.120 looks to be pretty good so far.

00:52:53.560 You guys have yet to have your,

00:52:54.800 your actual court date play out,

00:52:57.080 but what you're hearing is pretty encouraging.

00:53:01.000 Um,

00:53:02.180 but this is something I think a lot of folks are,

00:53:04.160 are,

00:53:04.580 are facing when it comes to the,

00:53:06.140 the Christian businesses,

00:53:07.860 especially with this new law that's been passed,

00:53:09.600 so where they're going to stand or not.

00:53:10.900 So why don't I ask you this?

00:53:14.500 How,

00:53:15.060 how did you make that decision?

00:53:17.240 And what would you say to others?

00:53:19.600 Because I think we're moving into a time where we're going to have to make

00:53:23.120 tough decisions.

00:53:24.720 Where is our red line?

00:53:26.020 Where,

00:53:26.180 where do we draw that line in the sand?

00:53:27.940 What,

00:53:28.200 what is it that the point that we decide we're going to stand at,

00:53:31.380 whether it's in our faith or whatever it might be in our families and our

00:53:34.820 work,

00:53:35.180 whatever it might be,

00:53:36.580 how did you guys figure that out?

00:53:39.900 Yeah.

00:53:40.660 Um,

00:53:42.220 so I guess I would,

00:53:46.380 I would start with the answer now and go back to when it happened.

00:53:50.920 Um,

00:53:51.820 once you make the stand and you go through the fire,

00:53:56.180 it literally is like gas on a fire.

00:53:59.720 If there's a huge ignition of,

00:54:02.440 you know,

00:54:03.240 again,

00:54:03.600 social media hatred,

00:54:05.620 just slander,

00:54:06.960 all these things.

00:54:07.900 And you're like,

00:54:08.740 Oh my gosh,

00:54:09.400 why did we just make,

00:54:10.660 make this decision?

00:54:11.820 Like this is terrible.

00:54:13.900 And then it goes away enough with words and slander and that petty stuff.

00:54:19.920 And then you start to realize why you made a stand.

00:54:24.320 Um,

00:54:25.120 I would rather,

00:54:26.400 and we have said this to each other,

00:54:28.380 we'd rather look back and let's say our business has to close.

00:54:32.360 And that's unfortunate.

00:54:33.680 We'd rather look back,

00:54:36.420 show our family,

00:54:37.800 show our children that we,

00:54:41.680 we made a stand for exactly what we believe in,

00:54:48.340 no matter the outcome,

00:54:51.220 because we made the decision for God,

00:54:53.200 not for us,

00:54:55.060 not for our flesh,

00:54:56.280 not for anything about our culture,

00:54:58.540 our society.

00:54:59.880 It was,

00:55:01.360 you know what?

00:55:02.340 We believe that marriage is between a man and a woman.

00:55:06.180 And we're going to stand on that.

00:55:07.880 And so what I would just tell people is there is that moment where you're like,

00:55:13.640 Oh,

00:55:13.880 I could,

00:55:14.360 I could just,

00:55:15.080 it doesn't really bother me right now.

00:55:16.920 Or it's not,

00:55:17.920 it doesn't affect my life,

00:55:19.440 man.

00:55:20.460 The longer you go saying that,

00:55:23.560 the harder it is to stand.

00:55:25.340 Once you get to a point where you realize it is something that's going to affect you.

00:55:28.740 Got to take a break here,

00:55:30.040 Nick and Hannah.

00:55:30.860 I appreciate you joining us.

00:55:31.840 The owners of the Broadway Avenue.

00:55:33.200 We'd like to help them out.

00:55:34.680 I put the link to the Gibson go at Mr. 0.87

00:55:36.740 Justin Barkley over on Twitter.

00:55:38.200 We're talking more about this.

00:55:39.220 Your faith is under fire,

00:55:40.580 folks.

00:55:40.980 You're going to be testing.

00:55:41.460 The Glenn Beck Program.

00:56:00.380 On the cusp of Christmas,

00:56:02.440 our faith is under fire.

00:56:04.800 It's Justin Barkley in for Glendon and Glenn Beck.

00:56:06.740 The Glenn Beck Program.

00:56:07.420 And listen,

00:56:09.120 I'd like to,

00:56:09.700 we will,

00:56:10.180 I will discuss good news,

00:56:12.680 of course,

00:56:13.380 and more in moments.

00:56:15.620 But I think we'd,

00:56:17.000 it's,

00:56:17.280 it's,

00:56:17.700 it's important

00:56:20.280 that we're realistic as well.

00:56:22.900 And we talk about some of the things that,

00:56:24.640 that aren't fun to face.

00:56:27.780 But particularly as these,

00:56:29.380 these folks,

00:56:30.020 this couple here in Michigan,

00:56:31.740 this is on this wedding venue,

00:56:33.040 the Natalis,

00:56:33.540 they face a fight.

00:56:35.380 They've made a decision.

00:56:36.280 They decided where the line is in the Sanford.

00:56:38.220 And of course,

00:56:38.880 the reason I bring this up is because we're all going to have to do that.

00:56:42.760 At some point,

00:56:43.780 we all are going to have to make that decision.

00:56:46.600 We're all going to face a time.

00:56:48.100 We're going to,

00:56:48.920 our faith,

00:56:49.320 something's going to be called into question.

00:56:50.920 And it's best if we decide now,

00:56:55.880 have those conversations with our families,

00:56:58.040 in fact,

00:56:58.960 where we're going to be.

00:57:02.740 And why?

00:57:03.600 Now I just gave out,

00:57:04.420 they have a give,

00:57:05.100 send,

00:57:05.300 go.

00:57:05.580 What I really like about,

00:57:06.940 this is the Christian company.

00:57:08.320 I think that,

00:57:08.860 it's like the,

00:57:10.020 the alternative GoFundMe.

00:57:11.560 They have a give,

00:57:12.600 send,

00:57:12.900 go set up to help with any legal or any business expenses that may come up

00:57:17.360 as they fight this fight.

00:57:22.600 On,

00:57:23.100 on my Twitter,

00:57:24.360 I put it up at,

00:57:25.120 at Mr.

00:57:26.140 Justin Barkley.

00:57:27.000 So you can go on over and you can help these folks.

00:57:29.020 But one of the things I just realized is,

00:57:32.000 is yes,

00:57:32.400 you can give and,

00:57:33.380 and folks are coming in to,

00:57:34.620 to donate here and there.

00:57:35.640 And I know that they'll appreciate that.

00:57:37.680 But one of the things I thought was the most interesting on this give soon

00:57:41.260 go,

00:57:41.420 they have a,

00:57:42.020 they have a prayer button.

00:57:44.500 You can click for prayer requests.

00:57:46.160 You can tell,

00:57:46.980 let the, 0.98

00:57:47.420 the,

00:57:47.680 the folks know that you're praying for them.

00:57:50.600 How great is that?

00:57:52.960 I put the link to that of it.

00:57:54.740 Mr.

00:57:55.320 Justin Barclay over on Twitter.

00:57:59.360 It's no surprise,

00:58:00.540 but I,

00:58:00.840 I just saw this again,

00:58:02.120 along with the,

00:58:03.180 this,

00:58:03.920 this marriage act that just passed.

00:58:05.900 There's these,

00:58:06.800 this is not going to be the only time you see this.

00:58:08.760 In fact,

00:58:09.020 there's a story out of the UK.

00:58:11.960 That's,

00:58:12.540 that's really concerning.

00:58:15.440 A woman arrested.

00:58:16.980 What she was doing outside of an abortion clinic. 0.94

00:58:19.440 And you would think when you hear this story,

00:58:22.600 it's right out of a dystopian horror novel.

00:58:29.200 Phil's on the line.

00:58:30.000 And let me grab a quick phone call.

00:58:31.320 You can join us at triple eight,

00:58:32.460 seven,

00:58:32.740 two,

00:58:32.940 seven back.

00:58:34.220 That's eight,

00:58:34.840 eight,

00:58:34.900 eight,

00:58:35.160 seven,

00:58:35.480 two,

00:58:35.620 seven B E C K.

00:58:37.860 Phil is up.

00:58:39.840 Phil,

00:58:40.260 you're on the Glenn Beck program.

00:58:41.440 Appreciate you joining us.

00:58:42.340 Good morning,

00:58:43.600 Justin.

00:58:44.440 Merry Christmas and happy Hanukkah.

00:58:46.480 Merry Christmas.

00:58:47.340 Happy Hanukkah.

00:58:48.020 One question,

00:58:48.960 one question to these despicable people ever target a mosque and ask them to

00:58:55.800 have an LGBTQ wedding or do they go to a halal bakery or,

00:59:02.180 and have them bake a cake. 0.59

00:59:04.520 Is this ever brought up?

00:59:05.780 Do they ever target them?

00:59:08.360 Like,

00:59:08.580 why don't they just let them run their business? 0.99

00:59:12.760 You know,

00:59:13.440 it's a good question.

00:59:14.300 Christians seem to be, 1.00

00:59:15.500 uh,

00:59:15.740 for the most part,

00:59:16.520 the ones under,

00:59:17.480 uh,

00:59:18.000 attack and the targets,

00:59:19.200 but,

00:59:19.460 uh,

00:59:19.660 and thank you for your call,

00:59:20.680 Phil,

00:59:20.820 but I will tell you this,

00:59:22.600 it's not only Christians,

00:59:23.760 this new,

00:59:24.460 this new marriage act will,

00:59:25.600 will,

00:59:26.060 will target all of these folks.

00:59:27.900 In fact,

00:59:28.780 we have seen people of all different faiths come together,

00:59:34.060 including,

00:59:34.880 uh,

00:59:35.300 Muslims,

00:59:36.900 Christians,

00:59:37.680 Jews,

00:59:37.980 and Muslims to fight against in,

00:59:41.220 uh,

00:59:41.360 in particular here in Michigan,

00:59:42.640 in Dearborn against some of these crazy pornographic books that were set in

00:59:48.280 the school libraries.

00:59:50.620 So I think folks of all walks,

00:59:52.640 uh,

00:59:53.960 of life,

00:59:54.480 different faiths,

00:59:55.360 uh,

00:59:55.660 this is an opportunity for us to come together and know that our faith is,

00:59:58.800 because it's,

00:59:59.240 it's,

00:59:59.600 it's not just,

01:00:01.180 it is predominantly Christian,

01:00:03.240 but it's not just Christian.

01:00:07.220 You see,

01:00:07.940 the way things work for Marxists is that the government and whoever has control of it,

01:00:13.880 see,

01:00:14.460 they,

01:00:14.940 they have to be the only source of,

01:00:20.040 of everything.

01:00:21.160 And Christians in particular,

01:00:22.480 but anyone of any faith,

01:00:24.200 you have a higher power.

01:00:25.160 You believe in just like me,

01:00:28.380 day after the election,

01:00:29.700 a lot of folks were upset and folks on the left said,

01:00:32.960 I'm going to turn him on,

01:00:33.760 see what he does.

01:00:34.540 And if he's crying,

01:00:35.760 and I'm sure he's going to be blathering into the microphone.

01:00:37.940 And I wasn't,

01:00:38.760 I mean,

01:00:39.000 I know this is a prize.

01:00:40.140 A lot of people,

01:00:40.660 but you know,

01:00:41.160 it's,

01:00:41.380 it's because my hope,

01:00:43.300 my joy,

01:00:44.200 my peace,

01:00:45.040 it doesn't come from any man,

01:00:47.360 especially not one in office,

01:00:50.840 no politician,

01:00:52.720 nobody serving in DC or anywhere else.

01:00:56.220 My hope,

01:00:56.900 my faith,

01:00:57.280 my joy,

01:00:57.500 it doesn't come from any of that.

01:01:01.360 Comes from a much bigger place.

01:01:04.340 This is why faith is,

01:01:06.560 is going to continue to be under attack.

01:01:08.500 And this is why we've got to decide right here and now how it is that we are going to stand or fall.

01:01:24.680 Over in the UK,

01:01:25.680 a woman was arrested for silently praying.

01:01:33.500 Police officer asked,

01:01:34.720 are you praying?

01:01:35.640 There are any questions about what's going on today.

01:01:40.360 I have to caution you,

01:01:41.560 which is just your rights,

01:01:42.520 which is,

01:01:42.820 you do not have to say anything.

01:01:44.260 It may harm your defense.

01:01:45.320 If you do not mention one question,

01:01:46.900 something that you later on in court,

01:01:48.240 anything you do say may be.

01:01:50.360 What are you here for today?

01:01:52.840 Physically,

01:01:53.260 I'm just standing here.

01:01:54.500 What are you here for today?

01:01:56.120 He says,

01:01:57.920 but she says,

01:01:58.440 well,

01:01:58.580 you know,

01:01:58.900 physically,

01:01:59.400 I'm just,

01:02:00.100 I'm just standing here.

01:02:03.480 Oh,

01:02:03.900 this thing.

01:02:04.240 That's not good enough.

01:02:07.300 He'll continue to ask her questions.

01:02:09.160 What are you here for today?

01:02:11.040 Physically,

01:02:11.500 I'm just standing here.

01:02:13.100 What,

01:02:13.540 what here of all places?

01:02:14.660 I know you don't live nearby.

01:02:16.500 This is an abortion something. 1.00

01:02:18.160 Okay.

01:02:18.760 That's why you're still,

01:02:20.240 is you standing here part of the protest?

01:02:22.220 No.

01:02:22.400 Just one woman out on a sidewalk. 1.00

01:02:26.080 One woman out on a sidewalk.

01:02:27.400 Looks like it's a,

01:02:28.620 it's,

01:02:29.040 it's a,

01:02:29.580 it's a,

01:02:30.000 any,

01:02:30.540 any random neighborhood,

01:02:32.320 but she just happens to be outside of an abortion center. 1.00

01:02:37.360 She's standing there peacefully,

01:02:43.740 quietly,

01:02:44.280 silently praying.

01:02:51.320 Praying for those innocent lives.

01:02:54.800 What happens next?

01:02:58.160 Police officer continues to question her.

01:03:02.500 She says,

01:03:08.680 I might be praying in my head,

01:03:10.220 but not out loud.

01:03:11.040 Why does that matter?

01:03:15.900 I'll ask you once more,

01:03:17.280 will you voluntarily come with us now to the police station for me to ask you some questions?

01:03:21.460 They want to ask her some questions because she's praying.

01:03:24.760 Today and other days where there are allegations that you've broken public spaces protection order.

01:03:30.840 See,

01:03:31.400 there's allegations that she's broken some sort of order,

01:03:33.720 order over there.

01:03:34.280 The public,

01:03:34.780 uh,

01:03:35.040 protected spaces,

01:03:36.680 protected spaces.

01:03:37.620 Apparently you're not,

01:03:38.340 you're not allowed to stand somewhere and pray.

01:03:40.260 If I've got a choice,

01:03:41.500 then no.

01:03:42.320 Okay.

01:03:42.860 Well then you're under arrest.

01:03:44.340 I can't suspicion of the planning to comply with the public spaces protection order.

01:03:48.820 Under arrest.

01:03:51.120 Praying outside of an abortion clinic.

01:03:53.340 You're,

01:03:53.740 this is,

01:03:55.240 this actually happened.

01:03:56.360 I'm not,

01:03:56.700 this isn't a,

01:03:57.480 so over in the UK,

01:03:59.900 the antisocial behavior act of whatever he says.

01:04:06.200 Unfortunately,

01:04:06.480 again,

01:04:06.740 you do not have to say anything.

01:04:08.040 It may harm your defense.

01:04:08.980 If you do not mention one question,

01:04:09.980 something which you later on in court,

01:04:11.660 you say,

01:04:12.500 you may be doing this.

01:04:13.700 Do you understand the caution?

01:04:15.040 I don't know.

01:04:16.600 Um,

01:04:17.040 your arrest is necessary.

01:04:18.320 You're under for the prompt and effective investigation into the offense.

01:04:21.740 What that means is,

01:04:22.400 so I can ask you some questions.

01:04:24.120 Some questions.

01:04:24.840 I can also protect vulnerable people,

01:04:27.940 mainly service users.

01:04:29.760 Okay.

01:04:30.200 So,

01:04:30.880 so she's being arrested mainly to protect vulnerable people. 0.88

01:04:36.880 I guess people going into side,

01:04:38.800 inside the,

01:04:39.380 the,

01:04:39.680 the abortion center there in the UK.

01:04:43.960 Not to mention the vulnerable lives that will be murdered.

01:04:47.800 As they're inside.

01:04:50.140 I know this isn't,

01:04:51.520 um,

01:04:52.020 this isn't necessarily the,

01:04:55.560 the jolly,

01:04:57.820 the jolly information that you may want to hear today.

01:05:02.580 But folks,

01:05:03.960 I do believe it's a wake up call and it's one that we all need to hear.

01:05:07.900 I know Glenn's talked about this quite extensively,

01:05:11.860 what it might look like to stand,

01:05:14.360 how your faith might be tested.

01:05:17.760 It's best to make these decisions now because we don't know necessarily what's

01:05:23.260 coming.

01:05:23.640 Although we do know that inevitably we will have to make some tough decisions.

01:05:32.000 It's best to make them now.

01:05:35.880 So that in the future,

01:05:37.900 and those times do get tough,

01:05:42.120 you can lean into

01:05:45.780 at peace,

01:05:50.480 have the courage to walk out

01:05:53.320 what you've already predetermined.

01:06:00.580 Merry Christmas.

01:06:03.820 Back with more after this on the Glenn Beck program.

01:06:07.900 Stay informed.

01:06:13.160 Bit of a Rona report here, folks.

01:06:34.420 We have a bit of an update.

01:06:37.640 A couple of things,

01:06:38.860 actually.

01:06:40.140 We did some good news and some strange news in the Rona report.

01:06:45.340 First of all,

01:06:45.760 you know,

01:06:45.940 Anthony Fauci is still,

01:06:47.000 I thought this guy had retired,

01:06:48.580 but the high priest to help.

01:06:54.140 St.

01:06:54.460 Anthony of Wuhan,

01:06:55.460 Mr.

01:06:56.260 Booster.

01:06:56.960 He's still out there saying it's,

01:06:58.560 it's nice.

01:07:00.060 Some people idolize.

01:07:01.540 He likes to be idolized and put up on a pedestal.

01:07:03.840 Apparently,

01:07:04.240 it's nice that some people,

01:07:06.920 you know,

01:07:07.580 idolize me and put me up on a pedestal, 0.78

01:07:10.580 but I don't get impressed by that.

01:07:12.400 Oh,

01:07:12.520 sure.

01:07:12.960 Sure.

01:07:13.200 You know,

01:07:13.440 I never have.

01:07:14.240 Yeah.

01:07:14.640 But you know what he likes?

01:07:16.260 He likes that funding for the gain of function research that he gets to do.

01:07:20.000 But I believe there's a lot,

01:07:20.900 there's a lot of that actually,

01:07:22.220 I think in the omnibus,

01:07:23.240 they're still funding that stuff.

01:07:24.900 Big news out of Florida.

01:07:26.200 The Florida Supreme court has approved Ron DeSantis request of a grand jury on COVID-19 jabs.

01:07:32.080 On the Fauci ouchie.

01:07:35.260 The Florida Supreme court on Thursday,

01:07:37.500 ruling a grand jury requested by Florida Republican governor,

01:07:40.520 Ron DeSantis,

01:07:41.180 to investigate the manufacturers of the jabs.

01:07:45.460 This is after all the sudden and unexpected,

01:07:48.040 you know,

01:07:49.120 the sudden and unexpected side effects.

01:07:54.840 There are no side effects.

01:07:56.220 What are you talking about?

01:07:57.620 Everything's safe and effective.

01:07:58.760 We don't have any issues with anything.

01:08:00.080 No,

01:08:00.240 please don't ask questions.

01:08:01.480 That would be whatever you do.

01:08:03.640 Don't ask questions.

01:08:06.580 That would be too,

01:08:07.880 too much.

01:08:09.820 Hey,

01:08:10.340 it turns out that exercise,

01:08:12.380 let me get a load of this exercise lowers your risk of,

01:08:19.320 uh,

01:08:19.640 of death and severe illness.

01:08:21.800 Now,

01:08:22.140 isn't that something when it comes to the wrong,

01:08:25.220 I,

01:08:25.460 I,

01:08:25.960 who would have,

01:08:26.700 who would have thought,

01:08:28.440 who would have begun to even,

01:08:31.240 but to believe that this was possibility.

01:08:36.180 I,

01:08:36.660 I would have known.

01:08:37.960 I would have thunk it.

01:08:38.720 so much for closing gyms because it's,

01:08:44.920 you remember,

01:08:46.020 there's a guy in,

01:08:46.880 uh,

01:08:47.940 I think his name's Ian.

01:08:48.880 Was it New Jersey?

01:08:49.640 The guy under fire.

01:08:50.600 And they,

01:08:50.800 they came after his bank account.

01:08:52.500 Can't I,

01:08:52.740 which is it?

01:08:53.020 Try to throw the guy in jail,

01:08:54.000 all this for keeping his gym open.

01:08:57.240 You know,

01:08:57.800 through this all,

01:08:58.600 we,

01:08:58.780 we never heard a couple of very common sense and very simple solutions.

01:09:02.980 Like,

01:09:03.240 Hey,

01:09:03.340 you might want to move a little bit more,

01:09:05.180 get some sunshine,

01:09:06.220 take some vitamins,

01:09:07.360 eat a little bit better.

01:09:09.480 No,

01:09:09.960 we never heard that.

01:09:11.040 We have just over and over again,

01:09:13.420 been beat the drum,

01:09:15.160 you know,

01:09:15.380 over our head.

01:09:16.020 This,

01:09:16.600 this,

01:09:16.920 well,

01:09:17.040 there's only one solution.

01:09:19.120 You must be mandated.

01:09:22.680 You take this one solution.

01:09:24.880 You can't ask questions.

01:09:25.700 You can't talk about it.

01:09:26.660 You can't none of that,

01:09:28.440 but it turns out this,

01:09:32.500 this story is legit.

01:09:33.980 Regular exercise protects,

01:09:35.940 it protects against fatal COVID.

01:09:38.140 According to this new study,

01:09:39.740 men and women who worked out at least 30 minutes,

01:09:41.960 most days were about four times more likely to survive than inactive people.

01:09:49.480 According to an eyeopening study of the called an eyeopening study in the post,

01:09:53.320 an eyeopening study.

01:09:56.640 Exercise and coronavirus outcomes among almost 200,000 adults in Southern California.

01:10:03.500 Study found that exercise in almost any amount,

01:10:05.980 really reduce people's risks for a severe coronavirus infection.

01:10:09.340 Even people who worked out for as little as 11 minutes a week.

01:10:13.260 Yes.

01:10:14.100 11 minutes a week.

01:10:15.340 Now I don't necessarily know what that counts.

01:10:17.860 Like 11 minutes a week.

01:10:19.140 How,

01:10:19.860 what would that be?

01:10:20.540 Some sort of,

01:10:21.160 you do some crunches,

01:10:22.680 some pushups,

01:10:24.500 an 11 minute walk.

01:10:25.660 I think most folks could get 11 minutes a week.

01:10:29.680 And I don't know if it's heart rate is up a certain amount or what that looks like.

01:10:34.200 Exactly.

01:10:34.780 But can you imagine?

01:10:37.020 Can you imagine?

01:10:37.860 So finally we've have,

01:10:40.540 you know,

01:10:40.860 this is an unthinkable.

01:10:42.460 We've had some studies that show us.

01:10:48.660 Mass mandates are not coming back,

01:10:50.860 even though COVID is.

01:10:51.900 That's the headline.

01:10:52.660 A triple threat.

01:10:53.560 They call it a triple threat of COVID flu and RSV.

01:10:58.980 Pushing hospitals to the brink.

01:11:01.220 Several state health officials asking people to mask up,

01:11:05.900 but not requiring it.

01:11:10.780 It's a triple dimmick.

01:11:12.880 It's a triple dimmick.

01:11:14.280 Folks said,

01:11:14.660 be afraid,

01:11:15.360 be very,

01:11:16.720 very afraid.

01:11:19.580 And you ask life expected to continue to follow.

01:11:21.800 I wonder what's causing that.

01:11:23.760 Any,

01:11:24.080 any ideas?

01:11:27.080 Americans born in 2021 could expect to live just 76.4 years.

01:11:32.420 According to government data released yesterday,

01:11:34.220 drop from 77 in 2020.

01:11:37.880 I wonder what could possibly be causing some of that.

01:11:43.240 It's just strange.

01:11:44.440 Some of these stories,

01:11:45.640 isn't it?

01:11:46.360 But governor DeSantis down in Florida said,

01:11:48.500 Hey,

01:11:48.660 you know what?

01:11:49.100 We're going to get down to bottom of some of this stuff.

01:11:51.800 And there's Supreme court allowing him to do that.

01:11:54.860 Some good news.

01:11:55.700 Don't lose hope folks.

01:11:56.760 The fight continues.

01:11:57.880 Matter of fact,

01:11:59.220 we continue.

01:12:00.360 If you stick with us for the next hour,

01:12:02.360 we'll be here.

01:12:03.360 If not,

01:12:03.980 always great to podcast,

01:12:05.360 Glenn Beck.

01:12:05.880 dot com.

01:12:06.440 This is the Glenn Beck program.

01:12:08.440 We got no room to compromise.

01:12:30.680 We got to stand together.

01:12:35.080 What you are about to hear is the fusion of entertainment and enlightenment.

01:12:55.880 This is the Glenn Beck program.

01:13:02.040 Well,

01:13:03.020 it is the season.

01:13:04.380 Anyway,

01:13:04.760 we are on the cusp of Christmas.

01:13:07.320 We're just,

01:13:07.920 you know,

01:13:08.740 just days away celebrating the birth of Jesus.

01:13:13.340 And faith is a major part of our lives here in America,

01:13:17.120 major part of the founding of this country,

01:13:18.600 no matter what anyone tries to tell you.

01:13:21.320 We're going to share some things about Christmas and particularly the Christmas story that may just strengthen your faith coming up in moments.

01:13:30.260 Justin Barkley in for Glenn today.

01:13:32.280 This is the Glenn Beck program.

01:13:34.440 It's the reason for the season.

01:13:52.820 And we can't deny it.

01:13:53.780 Hey,

01:13:53.900 listen,

01:13:54.300 if,

01:13:54.860 if you're just going through the motions this Christmas,

01:13:59.020 you may,

01:13:59.800 I think use a little jolt in your faith and maybe a reminder of why we celebrate.

01:14:08.300 And hopefully that'll,

01:14:09.560 that'll come into play here.

01:14:10.500 Justin Barkley in for Glenn today and the Glenn Beck program.

01:14:21.540 Father Dwight Longenecker joins us right now.

01:14:23.920 He's a priest and the author of The Secret of the Bethlehem Shepherds and the Mystery of the Magi.

01:14:29.740 A couple of great books for this time of year.

01:14:31.700 In fact,

01:14:32.060 I'm reading The Secret of the Bethlehem Shepherds right now.

01:14:35.320 Father,

01:14:35.620 thank you so much for joining us.

01:14:36.880 Appreciate you doing this.

01:14:38.780 Thanks for the invitation.

01:14:39.940 Merry Christmas.

01:14:41.040 So,

01:14:41.520 you know,

01:14:41.760 we hear the word,

01:14:42.840 the term fake news quite a bit when it comes to things that we hear in the news.

01:14:46.580 And of course,

01:14:47.680 politics and everything else these days.

01:14:49.640 But it turns out it may not necessarily be intentional in some ways,

01:14:55.200 but there are some things that may not necessarily be as true as maybe we heard traditionally through the years in Christmas stories.

01:15:03.100 And you did a little research project a few years back when you were able to kind of step away on a sabbatical

01:15:09.600 and look into some of the stories that we hear in the Bible,

01:15:12.760 particularly around Jesus' birth in the Gospels.

01:15:15.680 And I wanted to give you a chance to talk a little bit about that and share what you found in fact.

01:15:21.560 So thank you for joining us and thank you for writing about it.

01:15:23.800 I'm enjoying the book.

01:15:24.760 It really is.

01:15:27.000 Well,

01:15:27.480 it's interesting to see some of the true story behind the birth of Christ.

01:15:33.860 Now,

01:15:34.460 we're told a lot of things that I think folks look at,

01:15:37.900 even sometimes look at some of these stories like they're fairy tales,

01:15:40.760 but you've got some actual evidence that points to not just Christ,

01:15:45.720 but his divine birth.

01:15:48.860 Yeah,

01:15:48.920 we have to remember that these stories come to us from 2000 through 2000 years of tradition.

01:15:54.440 And through those 2000 years,

01:15:56.920 it's not only 2000 years of tradition,

01:15:58.600 but it comes to us through its own little pilgrimage or journey from the ancient Middle East

01:16:03.740 through the Dark Ages,

01:16:07.120 the Middle Ages of Europe,

01:16:08.320 and then Northern Europe and England,

01:16:11.520 and eventually to the New World,

01:16:12.920 our culture today.

01:16:14.500 And so here in the 21st century,

01:16:17.300 we're dealing with very ancient stories,

01:16:19.060 which have a long history of their own.

01:16:21.420 And as it came along on that journey to us,

01:16:25.280 it accumulated lots of extra baggage,

01:16:28.060 extra traditions,

01:16:29.380 beautiful traditions,

01:16:30.340 and beautiful interpretations of the story,

01:16:32.940 which we now accept as part of the story and part of the whole thing.

01:16:37.300 So I try to go back and sort of trim away all those extra accretions and all that extra stuff

01:16:44.440 to see what the Gospels actually say,

01:16:46.280 and how that fits with the geography and the archaeology and the politics of the time.

01:16:51.420 So what would be some of the things that you found to be the most interesting

01:16:55.640 along your journey in the research and writing the book,

01:17:00.060 The Secret of the Bethlehem Shepherds?

01:17:03.440 Well,

01:17:04.060 one of the things to remember also is that in our age,

01:17:06.920 we are really lucky because we live in an age when through archaeology and forensics

01:17:13.160 and textual evidence,

01:17:14.340 we know more about the ancient Middle East and the time of the New Testament

01:17:18.140 than our parents and grandparents and great-grandparents ever did.

01:17:22.740 So this is an exciting time to be alive,

01:17:24.520 to experience all of these discoveries.

01:17:27.620 But to get to answer your question,

01:17:29.580 one of the things,

01:17:30.320 for instance,

01:17:30.740 is there was no room for them in the inn.

01:17:33.140 And of course,

01:17:35.020 when we hear that,

01:17:36.240 most of us in our mind will conjure up the idea of some kind of a medieval European tavern

01:17:42.600 with a grumpy innkeeper out on the doorstep,

01:17:45.940 with his,

01:17:46.640 you know,

01:17:47.000 drying his hands on a tea towel and saying,

01:17:48.800 I'm sorry,

01:17:49.300 there's no room for you here,

01:17:50.280 you'll have to go to the stable over there across the hillside.

01:17:53.640 Well,

01:17:54.360 actually,

01:17:55.340 the word that's translated as inn in our English translations is the Greek word kataluma,

01:18:02.560 which basically means guest room.

01:18:05.180 And I discovered that the houses in Bethlehem at the time would have been very simple,

01:18:11.660 one or two room homes with a guest room built on either on the roof or off to the side.

01:18:18.080 Because the Middle Easterners have a very strong tradition of hospitality,

01:18:22.220 and also especially hospitality for family members.

01:18:27.000 So the idea that Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus were homeless on Christmas night

01:18:32.280 is something which we've sort of appropriated over the centuries and added in our own age,

01:18:37.740 because we have a natural compassion for homeless people

01:18:40.180 and a good compassion for immigrants and so forth.

01:18:43.180 But most certainly,

01:18:44.840 Joseph,

01:18:45.320 the Holy Family,

01:18:46.280 would have gone to Bethlehem,

01:18:48.100 Joseph's hometown,

01:18:50.000 and gone to a relative's home

01:18:52.060 and found that there was no room in their guest room,

01:18:54.200 so therefore they were ushered to the stable.

01:18:57.140 Now these little simple homes would have been built in front of a cave.

01:19:01.560 And if you go to the whole land today,

01:19:02.840 you can still see these cave homes.

01:19:05.720 And the cave was reserved for storage.

01:19:08.240 It was like the back room.

01:19:09.280 It was reserved for storage and stabling the animals.

01:19:11.680 So Jesus would not have been born in a drafty stable somewhere,

01:19:16.920 but in a cave that was used as a stable,

01:19:20.380 which was kind of like the back room of the family home.

01:19:22.660 Now what about the manger and the story about being put in the manger,

01:19:28.640 obviously the sheep playing a role here,

01:19:33.440 and we see the animals in the nativity scene,

01:19:35.580 the wise men and all that.

01:19:37.520 Any of that?

01:19:38.720 Well, yeah, again, the visions we have,

01:19:43.380 the images we have of the nativity,

01:19:46.340 which have come to us over these 2,000 years,

01:19:48.680 are beautiful.

01:19:49.680 They come to us from Renaissance paintings

01:19:51.360 and Victorian paintings

01:19:52.740 and modern-day paintings

01:19:54.020 and stories and so forth.

01:19:56.060 But these are imaginative works

01:19:58.100 about what would have happened

01:19:59.100 based on the simple historic tale.

01:20:02.400 There's archaeological evidence

01:20:03.760 that there was in between the two-roomed house

01:20:08.220 and the stable behind it,

01:20:10.040 there would have been a kind of half wall

01:20:11.660 which had a carved-out place

01:20:15.000 where the animals were fed.

01:20:16.800 And this manger bed would have been 0.92

01:20:18.260 where the baby Jesus would have been laid.

01:20:21.880 One of the most interesting pieces of your work

01:20:25.220 and the research that you did, I think,

01:20:27.200 was talking about the story

01:20:29.160 about how the shepherds were out in the field

01:20:32.400 and, of course, maybe the story

01:20:35.460 of why that was so important,

01:20:37.800 the Lamb of God, all of that.

01:20:40.460 And you found something to be a little bit

01:20:43.800 interesting about the truth,

01:20:45.140 about what was really happening in those fields.

01:20:47.840 And I think the truth

01:20:48.760 kind of confirms some of that story.

01:20:52.440 Yeah, there is a kind of preaching point

01:20:55.800 which circulates at this time of year

01:20:58.080 in which preachers like to say,

01:20:59.460 you know, the shepherds were sacred shepherds

01:21:02.460 and they were raising the lambs

01:21:04.200 for sacrifice in the temple.

01:21:06.200 And when the baby lamb would be born,

01:21:08.080 it would be wrapped up in strips of cloths

01:21:09.980 and laid in a feeding trough 0.88

01:21:11.240 to be protected until the priest

01:21:13.520 could come and investigate the lamb

01:21:15.020 to see if it was worthy for sacrifice.

01:21:17.480 Therefore, when the angel said,

01:21:18.900 you shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes

01:21:20.840 and laying in a manger,

01:21:22.040 and this shall be a sign unto you

01:21:23.600 that the shepherds would have known

01:21:25.480 they were going to find the true Lamb of God.

01:21:27.520 Well, that is a beautiful preaching point,

01:21:31.920 but I researched this very much in depth

01:21:34.300 over the last, over the two months

01:21:36.060 I was in Jerusalem and Bethlehem,

01:21:37.660 and I could not find any evidence for that story.

01:21:40.880 However, there was a tiny scrap of evidence

01:21:43.180 which points in that direction,

01:21:44.860 and that is that in the Mishnah,

01:21:46.720 which is a Jewish collection of rubrics 0.93

01:21:48.520 and rules for worship and life,

01:21:50.500 there is a reference that the animals

01:21:53.420 that were raised between Jerusalem

01:21:56.140 and the hills between Jerusalem and Bethlehem,

01:21:58.440 and Bethlehem is just six miles from Jerusalem,

01:22:00.760 were to be used for temple sacrifice.

01:22:02.740 So, a lot of scholars do believe

01:22:04.780 that the shepherds of Bethlehem

01:22:06.460 were actually sacred shepherds,

01:22:09.780 and that they were raising the thousands

01:22:11.280 and thousands of lambs and sheep and goats

01:22:13.920 which would have been used for sacrifice in the temple.

01:22:16.060 So, these really were in an area

01:22:23.240 that really would have had

01:22:26.440 some major significance there.

01:22:29.160 Yeah, and I think that significance is there,

01:22:31.880 especially when you look at the history

01:22:33.860 of the Jews in the Old Testament

01:22:36.360 of shepherds and lambs for sacrifice.

01:22:40.080 Father Abraham was a shepherd,

01:22:41.660 Moses was a shepherd,

01:22:42.880 King David was a shepherd boy 0.99

01:22:44.660 in the same hills of Bethlehem.

01:22:46.840 And this area of the Hebron Valley

01:22:48.660 was where those patriarchs eventually settled

01:22:52.160 and where David was brought up

01:22:53.520 and where he served,

01:22:54.360 and he looked after the flocks.

01:22:55.860 So, the whole symbolism

01:22:56.960 and the history of shepherds

01:22:58.960 and a close connection with God himself,

01:23:03.320 who in the Old Testament

01:23:04.140 is reckoned to be the good shepherd,

01:23:06.020 all of this sort of plays a part

01:23:07.900 in the story of the shepherds in Bethlehem.

01:23:10.900 Father Dwight Longenecker is with us right now

01:23:12.920 as we're in the book,

01:23:13.420 The Secret of the Bethlehem Shepherds.

01:23:17.140 I'm really enjoying your book, Father.

01:23:18.860 You actually, you went there,

01:23:20.780 you dove in,

01:23:22.280 and I think there's a lot that comes to mind

01:23:25.820 when we, a people of faith,

01:23:27.760 that maybe you go to church

01:23:29.860 or maybe you read about

01:23:31.020 or hear about these stories

01:23:32.160 and it just becomes part of your tradition,

01:23:33.620 whatever it is,

01:23:34.220 when you see the Christmas story.

01:23:36.000 But to actually go to where this all took place,

01:23:41.600 it becomes a lot more real.

01:23:44.280 You start to get your hands in the dirt,

01:23:46.160 so to speak.

01:23:46.680 You start to really see some of the stories

01:23:49.420 come to life in a lot of ways.

01:23:51.340 What has that done for your faith?

01:23:52.700 Well, I think one of the problems

01:23:56.100 with Christianity in the modern world today

01:23:59.040 is that for about a century now,

01:24:01.740 scholars have been debunking

01:24:03.060 the historical aspect of the Gospels

01:24:05.140 and basically saying,

01:24:06.040 you know,

01:24:06.880 it's all a tissue of fairy tales

01:24:09.000 and imaginations of the early church.

01:24:11.620 These things didn't happen,

01:24:12.800 especially the supernatural things didn't happen.

01:24:15.560 And I like to go back and say,

01:24:17.080 well, let's read the text exactly for what it is

01:24:19.240 and try to strip away

01:24:20.360 a lot of our own imaginations

01:24:23.640 of what that looked like

01:24:24.600 or what that was like

01:24:25.440 and try to imagine what it was really like

01:24:27.060 at the time,

01:24:28.100 at the place,

01:24:28.800 in order to understand more deeply

01:24:30.540 and more fully

01:24:31.280 the reality of the historical aspects

01:24:33.600 of the Gospels.

01:24:36.000 If folks want to get your books

01:24:37.240 and maybe lean into a little bit more,

01:24:39.200 I'm enjoying it this time of year.

01:24:40.620 I think it's something we all ought to do,

01:24:42.600 particularly The Secret of the Bethlehem Shepherds

01:24:46.460 and the book about the Magi as well.

01:24:48.640 Where can they go?

01:24:49.280 Where can they find out more?

01:24:50.860 Well, I have a blog.

01:24:52.160 It's called DwightLongenecker.com

01:24:54.240 and just today I've blogged on the question,

01:24:56.260 how do we know that Jesus was born in Bethlehem?

01:24:58.780 So people might like to go

01:25:00.280 and pick up some of those extra readings there.

01:25:02.260 The blog is free.

01:25:03.600 There's other content

01:25:04.460 which are behind a paywall,

01:25:05.520 but they're welcome to come

01:25:06.320 and look there at my books as well,

01:25:08.220 DwightLongenecker.com.

01:25:09.780 All right, so don't give it away,

01:25:10.800 but how do we know?

01:25:13.560 Well, very quickly,

01:25:15.480 I don't know how much time we have,

01:25:16.800 but basically the shepherds we know from Luke's Gospel

01:25:20.900 passed on the story of what happened

01:25:22.720 and what they experienced that night.

01:25:24.760 The locals there in Bethlehem

01:25:26.120 remembered the actual location of Jesus' birth,

01:25:29.000 and in the year 135,

01:25:30.840 really just about 100 years

01:25:32.800 after the death and resurrection of Jesus,

01:25:34.760 the Emperor Hadrian

01:25:35.880 built a temple on the site

01:25:39.920 of where the birth of Jesus

01:25:41.640 was already being venerated

01:25:43.100 by the early Christian church.

01:25:45.180 So this is very early,

01:25:46.160 the year 135.

01:25:47.300 He built a temple to Adonis

01:25:49.140 on that location,

01:25:50.720 and then 200 years later

01:25:53.020 when the Empress Helena,

01:25:54.700 the mother of the Emperor Constantine,

01:25:57.680 who became a Christian,

01:25:58.940 comes to the Holy Land

01:26:00.160 to find the sacred sites.

01:26:02.280 That location of the Temple of Adonis

01:26:04.320 built by the Emperor Hadrian

01:26:06.440 was still there,

01:26:07.620 and the locals said,

01:26:08.780 yes, that emperor 200 years ago

01:26:10.800 built the pagan temple

01:26:13.000 on the site of Jesus' birth.

01:26:14.740 So in trying to wipe out Christianity, 0.99

01:26:16.400 he actually preserved the site

01:26:18.020 for posterity.

01:26:19.620 And the Church of the Nativity

01:26:20.740 in Bethlehem today

01:26:22.120 is built on that same site.

01:26:24.700 Fascinating stuff,

01:26:25.800 and definitely a little something different

01:26:27.620 for this time of year.

01:26:29.160 Father, thank you so much

01:26:30.160 for joining us today.

01:26:30.900 Wish you a Merry Christmas.

01:26:32.560 Thanks for your invitation.

01:26:33.980 God bless.

01:26:34.720 Father Dwight Longenecker,

01:26:36.180 and of course more

01:26:36.940 at dwightlongenecker.com.

01:26:38.900 Justin Barkley,

01:26:39.640 like I said,

01:26:40.040 a little something different

01:26:41.160 because tis the season,

01:26:42.720 just days away here

01:26:44.400 as we celebrate Christmas.

01:26:47.220 Merry Christmas to you.

01:26:48.200 Back right after this

01:26:49.160 on the Glenn Beck Program.

01:26:59.440 Still wait on that vote

01:27:00.500 in the House today.

01:27:01.480 I haven't seen anything moving

01:27:03.360 just yet for that $1.7 trillion,

01:27:06.060 and that's just kind of like

01:27:07.300 the estimate.

01:27:09.700 Omnibus Bill.

01:27:10.360 We'll keep you up to date on that.

01:27:11.460 Should we see something

01:27:12.320 come to life on it?

01:27:14.220 We'll give you the heads up.

01:27:15.380 Looks like that's a done deal.

01:27:19.040 But we'll give you the scoop,

01:27:20.700 the details when that does happen.

01:27:22.640 888-727-BECK is the number.

01:27:26.800 That's 888-727-BECK. 0.81

01:27:29.320 You can also send me a message

01:27:30.420 if you like,

01:27:30.980 justinbarclay.com.

01:27:33.020 Click on that link there

01:27:34.960 at the website,

01:27:36.600 justinbarclay.com.

01:27:37.400 Love to chat with you.

01:27:39.000 Hear from you.

01:27:39.680 I'd like to fit a few more in

01:27:41.340 before we're done today.

01:27:42.720 Just phone calls,

01:27:44.660 talking to you,

01:27:45.740 give you a chance

01:27:46.460 to sound off,

01:27:47.320 and of course,

01:27:48.340 as you get a little bit closer

01:27:49.420 to Christmas and the holidays,

01:27:52.240 the news doesn't stop.

01:27:53.440 Used to be years ago,

01:27:54.720 you would have a little bit

01:27:56.240 of a break,

01:27:56.960 and things would be

01:27:57.680 kind of really slowing down.

01:27:59.780 But this year,

01:28:00.980 the last couple of years,

01:28:02.140 really,

01:28:02.420 what I've noticed,

01:28:04.300 there is no stop.

01:28:06.300 Never a dull moment.

01:28:08.200 It's always like

01:28:09.160 drinking from a fire hose.

01:28:11.900 We do our best

01:28:12.860 to stay on top of it.

01:28:13.820 Of course,

01:28:14.040 you're getting it

01:28:14.460 24-7 at theblaze.com,

01:28:16.400 and of course,

01:28:17.740 you know,

01:28:18.360 we fill in

01:28:18.980 paying attention

01:28:19.500 to things for you,

01:28:20.220 and we're going to

01:28:20.540 have those conversations

01:28:21.540 about some of the issues

01:28:22.720 that, you know,

01:28:23.440 that aren't taking a rest.

01:28:25.000 But I've got to warn you,

01:28:28.520 there's a bit of a,

01:28:30.280 there's a bit of an issue

01:28:32.260 with that, too.

01:28:34.600 You're constantly

01:28:35.600 paying attention

01:28:37.480 to everything.

01:28:38.100 You're constantly

01:28:38.640 trying to

01:28:39.700 stay up to date

01:28:41.800 with it all.

01:28:42.620 You're,

01:28:43.620 it's,

01:28:44.300 you just never do it.

01:28:45.900 You never can.

01:28:46.920 It's never enough.

01:28:47.920 And let me tell you,

01:28:49.540 I've experienced this

01:28:50.940 in my own life.

01:28:51.840 You really can't,

01:28:57.120 you can't keep up

01:29:00.560 with it all.

01:29:04.220 It's something

01:29:04.900 that you will chase,

01:29:05.820 and you will never

01:29:06.420 be able to

01:29:07.620 actually catch up with.

01:29:09.940 So,

01:29:11.340 I'll give you some tips,

01:29:12.300 just,

01:29:12.540 just out of my own

01:29:13.340 toolbox,

01:29:14.560 for making sure

01:29:17.200 that you're able

01:29:17.980 to kind of

01:29:18.900 turn it off

01:29:20.800 every now and then.

01:29:23.220 I'm not telling you

01:29:24.180 to stick your head

01:29:25.020 in the sand,

01:29:25.620 necessarily.

01:29:26.320 That's not what I mean.

01:29:28.960 Ignore it all.

01:29:29.860 I think it's important

01:29:30.880 that we do stay

01:29:31.660 on top of the things

01:29:32.560 that are going on

01:29:33.220 in our world.

01:29:33.780 Of course,

01:29:34.840 that is important.

01:29:35.660 I do believe

01:29:36.640 that there are things

01:29:37.480 that deserve more

01:29:38.760 of our attention,

01:29:41.240 deserve a greater

01:29:42.340 focus.

01:29:45.800 I'm going to talk

01:29:46.480 about that coming up

01:29:47.360 here in just a little bit,

01:29:48.280 too.

01:29:48.500 But I want to give you

01:29:49.140 some ideas,

01:29:50.600 some things

01:29:51.000 that you may

01:29:52.420 actually come

01:29:54.500 in handy

01:29:55.540 over the next

01:29:57.020 few days,

01:29:58.880 at the very least.

01:30:01.120 888-727-BECK

01:30:03.140 is the number.

01:30:06.000 Yeah,

01:30:06.440 we never

01:30:07.980 get an escape

01:30:09.100 from it.

01:30:10.280 Part of it

01:30:10.960 by design.

01:30:12.740 If you look

01:30:13.480 at the crisis,

01:30:14.120 one after the other,

01:30:16.660 it's designed

01:30:17.540 to keep you

01:30:18.040 in a constant

01:30:18.600 and perpetual

01:30:19.160 state of reaction.

01:30:23.100 What's next?

01:30:23.740 Look at the border.

01:30:24.500 Look at what they're

01:30:25.480 doing in Arizona.

01:30:26.300 Oh my gosh,

01:30:26.820 the election.

01:30:28.340 Now they're going

01:30:28.760 to sign this on.

01:30:29.500 You see,

01:30:30.320 it's one thing

01:30:31.380 after another.

01:30:32.300 And the reason

01:30:33.880 why this can be

01:30:35.420 so damaging

01:30:36.580 is that you're

01:30:37.560 constantly going

01:30:39.080 from one thing

01:30:39.700 to the other

01:30:40.220 and you're distracted.

01:30:41.440 You're pulled

01:30:41.780 in a million

01:30:42.220 different places

01:30:43.000 and the things

01:30:44.380 that matter most

01:30:45.100 never get the

01:30:45.840 full attention

01:30:46.540 that they deserve.

01:30:48.280 When you're pulled

01:30:48.980 in so many

01:30:49.580 different directions,

01:30:50.400 you can't focus

01:30:51.200 on the things

01:30:51.760 that matter most

01:30:52.560 and you can't

01:30:53.880 really get anything

01:30:54.580 done.

01:30:55.000 So you end up

01:30:55.460 with a lot of

01:30:55.880 activity,

01:30:56.700 but not enough

01:30:59.020 accomplishment.

01:31:01.000 At least,

01:31:02.040 not really any

01:31:03.080 meaningful or

01:31:03.780 effective

01:31:04.280 accomplishment.

01:31:07.100 And this is

01:31:07.920 something that I

01:31:08.740 think the

01:31:09.080 Republican Party,

01:31:10.020 but not just

01:31:10.560 that,

01:31:10.820 the American

01:31:11.340 people are

01:31:12.320 feeling,

01:31:13.400 experiencing,

01:31:14.340 seeing on a

01:31:14.860 daily basis.

01:31:16.540 how do you

01:31:18.600 find the

01:31:19.420 calm in the

01:31:20.580 chaos?

01:31:21.180 How do you

01:31:21.600 clear your

01:31:22.340 head so that

01:31:23.120 you can focus

01:31:23.800 on the things

01:31:24.440 that matter most?

01:31:25.140 Because I'll

01:31:26.160 tell you,

01:31:26.520 it's going to

01:31:27.140 be in the

01:31:27.960 coming days

01:31:28.800 more and more

01:31:30.300 important.

01:31:30.740 If we really

01:31:31.700 do want to

01:31:32.520 take our

01:31:32.880 country back,

01:31:34.880 we get to

01:31:35.480 learn a couple

01:31:36.020 of things.

01:31:38.400 I'll share

01:31:39.160 how it's done

01:31:40.100 as we put the

01:31:41.240 wraps on this

01:31:42.320 edition coming up

01:31:43.540 in moments of

01:31:44.040 the Glenn Beck

01:31:44.460 program.

01:32:13.180 they keep up

01:32:13.700 with all of

01:32:14.400 it at

01:32:15.660 theblaze.com.

01:32:16.860 And if you

01:32:17.140 miss any of

01:32:17.580 this program

01:32:18.080 or any this

01:32:19.200 week,

01:32:19.460 there's been

01:32:20.080 some stellar

01:32:21.760 week.

01:32:23.320 You can always

01:32:24.400 catch up with

01:32:29.120 Wanted to take a

01:32:29.720 couple of quick

01:32:30.180 phone calls and

01:32:30.940 get those in

01:32:31.620 because, you

01:32:32.120 know,

01:32:32.280 it is the

01:32:41.300 888-727-BECK.

01:32:43.820 We'll deal with

01:32:44.440 Porter in

01:32:45.240 South Carolina.

01:32:46.460 Porter, you're

01:32:46.960 up first on the

01:32:48.280 Glenn Beck

01:32:48.660 program.

01:32:49.220 How are you?

01:32:50.220 Good morning.

01:32:51.080 How are you?

01:32:51.700 Loving the

01:32:52.200 program.

01:32:53.620 Missing Glenn.

01:32:54.980 Best part of the

01:32:55.720 day, actually.

01:32:57.180 Yeah.

01:32:57.780 Hey, for all

01:32:58.860 those people that

01:32:59.800 had to go

01:33:00.940 through that

01:33:01.460 big deal out

01:33:03.160 in Texas

01:33:03.780 where they

01:33:04.360 had the

01:33:05.520 power outages

01:33:06.580 and everything's

01:33:07.940 freezing and

01:33:08.620 all, you know

01:33:09.660 it's coming.

01:33:11.000 A little bit of

01:33:11.760 common sense.

01:33:12.560 This is your

01:33:13.000 daddy talking to

01:33:13.900 you.

01:33:15.120 Okay.

01:33:15.620 If you have

01:33:16.080 access to a

01:33:17.440 pair of

01:33:18.680 nice grip

01:33:19.640 pliers or

01:33:20.960 even a street

01:33:21.780 key, go out

01:33:23.540 to your water

01:33:24.140 meter, pull the

01:33:25.400 lid off of it,

01:33:26.640 turn it off at

01:33:27.380 the street, go

01:33:29.320 out to your

01:33:30.220 lowest water

01:33:31.820 spigot in the

01:33:32.520 house, and

01:33:33.160 crack it open.

01:33:35.640 Let it drain

01:33:36.480 out.

01:33:37.420 You might also

01:33:38.140 want to pull

01:33:38.820 out the, you

01:33:39.980 know, open the

01:33:40.620 spigots in your

01:33:41.340 house.

01:33:42.100 Drain the water

01:33:42.800 out of your

01:33:43.280 pipes.

01:33:43.740 If your house

01:33:44.300 is going to

01:33:44.720 get, you

01:33:45.480 know, below

01:33:45.920 32 degrees

01:33:46.880 inside, you

01:33:48.020 don't have

01:33:48.440 heat, you 0.92

01:33:48.920 don't have, you

01:33:50.540 know, a lot of

01:33:51.140 open insulation

01:33:52.660 or any way to

01:33:53.680 keep it, you

01:33:54.500 know, warm, just

01:33:56.280 get the water out

01:33:57.080 of the pipes as

01:33:57.800 much as you

01:33:58.320 can.

01:33:59.580 Porter, I

01:33:59.840 appreciate that.

01:34:00.800 You're right.

01:34:01.960 This stuff will

01:34:02.440 freeze over.

01:34:03.960 And then

01:34:04.500 they're not

01:34:04.820 built for that

01:34:05.440 in some place,

01:34:06.320 especially Texas.

01:34:07.940 Appreciate that.

01:34:08.760 This old house

01:34:09.620 brought to you by

01:34:10.960 Porter.

01:34:11.780 Jeff in Georgia.

01:34:12.980 Jeff, how are you?

01:34:13.860 I appreciate it.

01:34:14.380 I love talking to

01:34:15.180 you guys.

01:34:15.640 888-727-BECK is

01:34:17.320 the number.

01:34:18.040 How are you,

01:34:18.480 Jeff?

01:34:19.700 Hey, I am fine.

01:34:20.700 How are you doing?

01:34:21.480 Wonderful.

01:34:21.960 Thank you.

01:34:23.280 Good, good.

01:34:23.900 Yeah, I was

01:34:24.260 telling the

01:34:24.720 screener there

01:34:25.240 that I heard

01:34:25.680 at the top

01:34:26.100 of the hour

01:34:26.620 that some

01:34:27.340 kind of bill

01:34:27.820 got passed.

01:34:29.380 It wasn't the

01:34:30.100 omnibus bill,

01:34:30.800 some other bill,

01:34:31.560 but in it

01:34:32.360 was a provision

01:34:33.640 that Republicans

01:34:34.320 had pushed for

01:34:35.260 was that the

01:34:36.480 military COVID

01:34:37.940 mandate was

01:34:39.100 dropped.

01:34:40.340 And I just

01:34:41.340 want to know

01:34:41.720 all the folks

01:34:42.320 that were pushed

01:34:42.900 out of the

01:34:43.620 military,

01:34:44.160 are they going

01:34:44.460 to reinstate

01:34:45.020 them?

01:34:45.280 Because I

01:34:45.680 worked with

01:34:46.000 a lady and

01:34:47.220 her son had

01:34:48.060 12 years in

01:34:49.100 straight out of

01:34:49.680 high school and

01:34:51.780 they just pushed

01:34:52.360 him out last

01:34:53.180 month.

01:34:53.960 That's the

01:34:54.500 Defense

01:34:54.820 Authorization Act.

01:34:55.960 They put that

01:34:56.880 through.

01:34:57.140 McCarthy was able

01:34:57.840 to get that

01:34:58.280 done and looks

01:35:00.300 like some of the

01:35:01.440 good news there.

01:35:02.720 Jeff, amen.

01:35:04.460 They ought to

01:35:05.260 get those guys

01:35:05.920 back in,

01:35:06.480 reinstate them,

01:35:07.300 and here's what

01:35:07.800 I'll add,

01:35:08.340 with back pay.

01:35:09.160 Jeff and

01:35:09.760 George, I

01:35:10.100 appreciate you

01:35:10.840 calling in.

01:35:11.600 That is some

01:35:12.040 good news.

01:35:12.760 Anne in

01:35:13.340 Michigan, up

01:35:14.780 next on the

01:35:15.300 Glenn Beck

01:35:15.700 program with

01:35:16.360 some good news

01:35:17.000 on your end.

01:35:17.660 Anne, how are

01:35:18.120 you?

01:35:18.880 I'm great.

01:35:20.000 Thank you,

01:35:20.600 listening to the

01:35:21.440 program, loving

01:35:22.380 it in this storm.

01:35:23.620 Wow, a bright

01:35:24.340 light.

01:35:25.220 Yeah, I've got

01:35:25.880 good news for

01:35:26.660 everybody.

01:35:27.340 If you're

01:35:27.700 wondering what

01:35:28.380 to do about

01:35:29.140 your faith, we

01:35:30.460 can do something.

01:35:32.500 Holland, Michigan's

01:35:33.940 Mayor Nathan

01:35:35.180 Bach, with

01:35:36.680 pressure from

01:35:37.600 the Ottawa

01:35:38.180 County Pay

01:35:39.140 Patriots,

01:35:39.700 emails, and

01:35:40.540 calls, has

01:35:41.900 decided to

01:35:42.960 declare April

01:35:44.720 faith, F-A-I-T-H 0.99

01:35:47.820 month.

01:35:49.200 He has

01:35:49.980 declared June

01:35:51.020 as Pride

01:35:51.640 month, and

01:35:52.480 now we have

01:35:53.160 this on our

01:35:54.220 calendar.

01:35:55.340 Now, we're

01:35:55.960 going to have

01:35:56.420 to rise up

01:35:57.200 and meet and

01:35:58.160 do things for

01:35:59.460 that month.

01:36:00.920 But on the

01:36:01.520 other hand, I

01:36:02.480 want you out

01:36:03.380 there to know,

01:36:04.420 get a hold of

01:36:05.620 your municipality

01:36:06.940 government, tell

01:36:08.940 them this is what

01:36:09.720 you want, you're

01:36:10.400 the people, and

01:36:12.100 do it politely,

01:36:13.200 kindly, but with

01:36:14.060 pressure.

01:36:15.300 And here we go,

01:36:16.980 2023, Holland,

01:36:18.820 Michigan, is going

01:36:20.220 to experience,

01:36:21.700 express, and

01:36:23.340 exercise their

01:36:25.000 faith right here

01:36:26.220 in their city.

01:36:26.980 And I'm

01:36:29.100 going to see

01:36:29.600 it.

01:36:30.360 That's great

01:36:31.000 news, Ann.

01:36:31.540 Thank you for

01:36:32.040 the call.

01:36:32.740 You know, this

01:36:34.140 is a good

01:36:34.600 point.

01:36:36.040 This is, you

01:36:37.600 get people that

01:36:38.360 think a lot of

01:36:39.320 times, and part

01:36:40.320 of this is we're

01:36:41.240 meant to feel

01:36:42.040 this way, folks.

01:36:43.100 They want you to

01:36:44.000 feel like there's

01:36:45.240 nothing you can

01:36:46.160 do.

01:36:47.020 They want you to

01:36:47.720 feel hopeless.

01:36:48.540 They want you to

01:36:49.260 feel helpless.

01:36:50.100 They want you to

01:36:50.820 feel like it just

01:36:51.940 doesn't matter.

01:36:53.300 Don't try and

01:36:54.180 fight.

01:36:55.700 City Hall, you're

01:36:56.640 never going to

01:36:57.160 get it.

01:36:57.600 That's the point

01:36:58.680 of all this.

01:37:00.360 And, you know,

01:37:01.020 let's be honest, I

01:37:02.780 get it.

01:37:03.320 Some of this, I

01:37:04.200 feel pretty, you

01:37:05.380 know, down

01:37:05.760 sometimes too, but

01:37:06.740 we've always got to

01:37:07.880 remember that no

01:37:10.480 matter what, we've

01:37:12.500 got to continue to

01:37:13.260 fight.

01:37:13.520 You got to keep

01:37:13.980 it up.

01:37:15.580 Those people that

01:37:17.020 made that happen,

01:37:19.020 that put the

01:37:19.480 pressure on to get

01:37:20.300 that done.

01:37:20.820 I mean, I know it

01:37:21.220 seems like a small

01:37:22.000 thing.

01:37:22.300 You might feel

01:37:22.760 we've got big

01:37:23.660 problems here.

01:37:25.340 But all the

01:37:26.180 politics is local.

01:37:29.120 All of these

01:37:29.840 things that we

01:37:30.400 face on a daily

01:37:31.260 basis, and

01:37:31.940 there's a storm

01:37:33.460 of chaos.

01:37:35.500 I mean, crises

01:37:36.540 after crisis, one

01:37:37.660 after the other,

01:37:38.340 all of it.

01:37:40.600 What's happening

01:37:41.340 down at the

01:37:41.860 border to this

01:37:42.620 inflation, the

01:37:44.240 omnibus they're

01:37:44.840 going to pass,

01:37:45.380 they're going to

01:37:45.580 make things even

01:37:46.300 worse, and of

01:37:46.920 course, the

01:37:48.360 election issues,

01:37:49.260 all of it, every

01:37:50.200 single bit.

01:37:50.820 There's, I

01:37:51.540 mean, we

01:37:51.920 could name

01:37:52.920 piece after

01:37:54.020 piece, and we

01:37:55.540 still wouldn't

01:37:56.400 have enough

01:37:56.820 time to go

01:37:57.780 through an

01:37:58.040 entire three

01:37:58.600 hour show.

01:37:59.180 Still couldn't

01:38:00.320 get done.

01:38:02.280 Your faith is

01:38:03.200 under attack.

01:38:03.680 All these

01:38:04.140 different things,

01:38:05.260 but it's

01:38:06.160 designed to

01:38:06.720 make you feel

01:38:07.380 like you're,

01:38:08.000 you know,

01:38:08.400 you're overwhelmed

01:38:09.560 on all sides.

01:38:12.040 It's designed

01:38:13.040 to make you feel

01:38:14.560 like there's

01:38:15.020 absolutely nothing

01:38:16.140 that you can

01:38:17.020 do.

01:38:17.600 This is, this

01:38:20.060 is part of

01:38:20.640 the problem.

01:38:24.840 But I'm here

01:38:25.540 to tell you

01:38:26.160 that there's

01:38:26.860 just another

01:38:27.340 example there

01:38:28.160 of people

01:38:29.460 standing up,

01:38:30.400 deciding where

01:38:30.980 they're going to

01:38:31.340 stand firm,

01:38:32.080 how they're

01:38:32.500 going to fight

01:38:33.060 back, and

01:38:33.500 doing it, I

01:38:33.940 think, in a

01:38:34.600 way in which

01:38:36.580 not only gets

01:38:37.320 results, you

01:38:38.500 know, it's

01:38:38.720 effective, but

01:38:39.340 it gives you a

01:38:40.360 little glimmer of

01:38:41.060 what's possible.

01:38:43.060 So congratulations

01:38:43.820 to those folks

01:38:44.900 who continue to

01:38:45.580 fight back.

01:38:45.980 Don't lose

01:38:46.500 hope.

01:38:47.460 I'll give you

01:38:48.200 a little bit

01:38:48.780 of how I

01:38:50.200 think we need

01:38:51.300 to learn to

01:38:51.780 fight back, and

01:38:52.500 it might be

01:38:54.080 counterintuitive,

01:38:55.160 in fact.

01:38:56.020 It might go a

01:38:56.840 little bit against

01:38:57.480 the grain.

01:38:57.860 In fact, it

01:38:58.340 might challenge

01:39:01.540 some of the

01:39:03.240 conventional wisdom

01:39:04.340 of how we

01:39:07.220 fight, you

01:39:09.040 know, how

01:39:10.440 you're supposed

01:39:10.960 to fight.

01:39:13.220 And we come

01:39:13.940 back.

01:39:14.420 Quick break.

01:39:15.080 back with

01:39:15.740 you, and

01:39:16.560 some tips

01:39:17.120 after this

01:39:17.860 on the

01:39:18.220 Glenn Beck

01:39:18.560 program.

01:39:21.740 The Glenn

01:39:22.680 Beck

01:39:23.000 program.

01:39:23.600 Merry Christmas.

01:39:42.240 On the

01:39:44.020 Glenn Beck

01:39:44.480 program, it's

01:39:45.860 Justin Barkley in

01:39:46.700 for back today.

01:39:47.400 you know, I

01:39:49.180 want to give you

01:39:49.820 some tips, some

01:39:50.440 things of how we

01:39:51.740 can stay fresh in

01:39:52.620 the fight, because

01:39:53.240 you know, there

01:39:54.060 is a, I mean, the

01:39:55.840 truth is, when we

01:39:57.080 face the fight that

01:39:59.300 we face every day,

01:40:00.600 in this country, for

01:40:01.700 our kids, for the

01:40:02.860 soul of this

01:40:04.820 nation, you know,

01:40:07.300 it can become

01:40:08.140 overwhelming.

01:40:08.840 there is, there

01:40:12.600 is quite a bit, and

01:40:14.820 I hear it, you

01:40:16.000 know, I, I do a

01:40:17.300 show here in, in

01:40:18.120 West Michigan and

01:40:18.780 Grand Rapids,

01:40:20.460 W O O D, Wood 0.86

01:40:22.960 radio, news

01:40:23.500 radio, wood

01:40:24.000 1300, 106, 9

01:40:25.780 FM.

01:40:26.820 And I will tell

01:40:27.900 you, this has been

01:40:28.860 a very tough year

01:40:31.520 for a lot of

01:40:32.080 folks, with a

01:40:33.760 very contentious

01:40:34.720 election, specifically

01:40:36.380 here in Michigan, but

01:40:37.660 all throughout the

01:40:38.520 country, the

01:40:38.960 midterms were

01:40:39.680 really tough.

01:40:42.060 There were some

01:40:42.820 glimmers of hope,

01:40:43.480 there were some

01:40:44.000 good pieces of

01:40:45.020 news, but I think

01:40:45.700 a lot of folks

01:40:46.340 still finding, you

01:40:47.460 know, where was

01:40:47.840 that red wave, the

01:40:48.500 red tsunami, we

01:40:49.400 heard about, things

01:40:50.020 like that, finding

01:40:51.540 some challenging

01:40:52.320 times in a lot of

01:40:54.220 it, and let's be

01:40:55.400 honest, there, you

01:40:56.940 got to be realistic.

01:40:58.640 We got problems,

01:40:59.740 folks.

01:41:03.460 And I believe we

01:41:04.560 ought to face those

01:41:05.580 problems, I believe

01:41:06.320 we ought to go right

01:41:07.020 through them, but

01:41:07.580 I also want to

01:41:08.780 tell you that

01:41:11.520 one of the ways

01:41:12.080 I think we

01:41:12.600 often overlook

01:41:14.280 in battle

01:41:16.440 is, this is

01:41:20.060 going to be

01:41:20.340 completely, I

01:41:21.280 think,

01:41:22.780 antithetical,

01:41:23.540 the way some

01:41:23.960 folks might be

01:41:24.620 thinking, but

01:41:25.180 is to make sure

01:41:27.040 that you're well

01:41:27.900 rested, to make

01:41:30.280 sure that you

01:41:30.980 don't lose hope.

01:41:32.540 Over these next

01:41:33.400 coming days, you

01:41:35.080 might have an

01:41:35.780 opportunity here or

01:41:36.820 bear to take a

01:41:38.960 bit of a break.

01:41:41.200 And we ought

01:41:41.960 to.

01:41:43.020 You know, like I

01:41:43.560 said earlier, the

01:41:44.180 news never stops

01:41:44.940 nowadays.

01:41:45.320 It's like drinking

01:41:45.820 from a fire hose.

01:41:47.160 And in some

01:41:47.920 days, a hydrant.

01:41:48.860 And many times

01:41:49.440 people have told me

01:41:50.380 when I bring that

01:41:51.460 up, it says, no,

01:41:52.140 it's more like a

01:41:53.000 sewage pipe.

01:41:53.560 You know, now that

01:41:57.660 you mention it,

01:41:58.620 yeah, especially

01:42:00.340 some of these

01:42:01.260 stories.

01:42:04.560 It can be.

01:42:07.400 But the news

01:42:08.440 never stops.

01:42:09.200 The cycle just

01:42:10.240 continues.

01:42:11.440 And I believe a

01:42:12.520 lot of it, most

01:42:13.140 of it is really

01:42:14.600 meant to overwhelm

01:42:16.200 us to really

01:42:22.880 keep us from

01:42:24.240 being able to

01:42:25.700 focus.

01:42:26.200 It's meant to

01:42:26.800 distract us.

01:42:28.500 The fog of

01:42:29.260 war, what they

01:42:31.740 call that.

01:42:34.480 Well, what happens

01:42:35.520 if you get bogged

01:42:36.260 down?

01:42:36.940 You get demoralized.

01:42:40.740 You're no good.

01:42:41.740 You can't fight.

01:42:43.420 You can't see the

01:42:44.360 target.

01:42:44.720 You don't know

01:42:45.080 what you're facing.

01:42:45.980 And if it's

01:42:48.820 coming from all

01:42:49.420 angles, you can

01:42:51.760 feel like there's

01:42:52.720 no hope.

01:42:55.660 So what I suggest

01:42:56.880 is taking some

01:42:57.800 time.

01:42:58.340 I wrote a book a

01:42:59.780 couple of years

01:43:00.360 back.

01:43:00.780 It's called Good

01:43:01.340 News, Hope and

01:43:02.020 Encouragement for

01:43:02.840 Trying Times.

01:43:03.820 And in the book,

01:43:05.980 well, part of it

01:43:06.740 for me was

01:43:07.900 writing about my

01:43:10.120 first daughter

01:43:12.980 and her story.

01:43:14.040 And she was

01:43:14.880 born around

01:43:17.140 this time.

01:43:17.600 In fact, December

01:43:18.860 6, 2020, she

01:43:20.700 was born at 27

01:43:21.720 weeks.

01:43:22.100 She was born

01:43:22.540 early.

01:43:23.080 The doctor said,

01:43:23.980 oh my gosh, we

01:43:24.720 don't know what's

01:43:25.380 going to happen.

01:43:26.040 Your daughter is

01:43:26.620 coming.

01:43:26.920 My wife's water 1.00

01:43:27.580 broke.

01:43:30.240 And we, we

01:43:31.200 didn't know what

01:43:31.760 to expect.

01:43:33.580 The doctor said

01:43:34.600 they came in and

01:43:35.440 told us all kinds

01:43:36.500 of number of

01:43:37.000 different things

01:43:37.580 that could possibly

01:43:38.500 happen and go

01:43:39.240 wrong.

01:43:39.640 And of

01:43:41.720 course, even

01:43:43.980 in the middle

01:43:44.600 of all that, I

01:43:45.800 had a bit of a

01:43:46.680 peace to know

01:43:47.760 that everything

01:43:49.020 was going to

01:43:49.600 work out.

01:43:50.220 I don't know

01:43:51.120 if I can really

01:43:54.960 explain all of

01:43:56.260 that.

01:43:57.680 I do know

01:43:58.780 now where it

01:44:01.300 came from.

01:44:02.420 It's the peace

01:44:03.400 that follows me

01:44:04.380 to this day,

01:44:05.960 even in these

01:44:08.240 times.

01:44:09.640 but it's a

01:44:13.600 peace that I

01:44:14.380 I like to

01:44:17.960 share with

01:44:18.380 others if I

01:44:19.220 can.

01:44:20.020 I like to

01:44:20.880 give it to

01:44:21.280 you.

01:44:24.120 But I can't

01:44:25.240 just hand it

01:44:26.300 over.

01:44:27.840 You have to go

01:44:28.860 looking for it

01:44:29.560 yourself.

01:44:29.960 I share in

01:44:34.420 that book part

01:44:35.220 of my

01:44:35.480 process.

01:44:40.420 One of the

01:44:41.100 things that I

01:44:41.620 do, and I

01:44:42.180 won't bore you

01:44:45.620 with everything,

01:44:46.180 but one of the

01:44:46.620 things that I

01:44:47.080 try to do is

01:44:48.160 make sure that I

01:44:49.300 clear a little

01:44:50.140 bit of time

01:44:50.780 on my

01:44:53.720 calendar to

01:44:55.820 clear my

01:44:56.180 head.

01:44:56.440 and you

01:44:57.260 may be

01:44:57.620 saying, but

01:44:57.940 I don't

01:44:58.320 have time

01:44:58.960 for that.

01:45:01.160 You just

01:45:01.740 don't understand

01:45:02.200 I'm

01:45:02.360 overwhelmed.

01:45:02.800 I've got so

01:45:03.140 much going

01:45:03.620 on.

01:45:03.860 I just

01:45:04.340 don't have

01:45:04.700 time to

01:45:05.420 sit down

01:45:05.980 and clear

01:45:08.860 my calendar

01:45:09.660 and do

01:45:12.000 nothing.

01:45:13.400 Well, you

01:45:13.880 need it more

01:45:14.320 than me then.

01:45:14.860 But every

01:45:18.660 morning, it's

01:45:19.520 a little bit

01:45:20.260 of time to

01:45:21.040 set your

01:45:21.440 day, your

01:45:24.940 GPS, right?

01:45:28.360 So that you

01:45:29.140 know where

01:45:29.540 you're going

01:45:30.140 and you're

01:45:32.740 rooted in a

01:45:33.340 solid foundation.

01:45:36.180 I read a

01:45:36.920 devotion.

01:45:37.640 I spend

01:45:38.380 my Bible.

01:45:38.960 I pray.

01:45:39.960 I talk to

01:45:40.780 God.

01:45:40.940 I try to

01:45:41.440 listen.

01:45:41.760 and give

01:45:46.220 him a

01:45:47.760 little bit

01:45:48.100 of time

01:45:48.620 the first

01:45:50.800 of my

01:45:51.040 day.

01:45:52.200 I'm always

01:45:53.240 perfect with

01:45:53.960 this and

01:45:54.300 some days

01:45:54.720 are better

01:45:55.040 than other.

01:45:55.500 In fact, I

01:45:55.920 got a little

01:45:56.260 time off

01:45:56.740 next week.

01:45:57.220 I'm going

01:45:57.400 to spend

01:45:57.700 some time

01:45:58.300 doing more

01:46:00.840 of that.

01:46:02.660 I think

01:46:03.540 we overlook

01:46:04.780 how important

01:46:05.920 rest is.

01:46:07.320 You know,

01:46:07.720 God

01:46:08.060 commanded

01:46:10.260 it.

01:46:10.520 the seventh

01:46:12.200 day, even

01:46:13.060 he rested

01:46:13.800 when he

01:46:14.400 made all

01:46:14.940 of this.

01:46:17.480 And he

01:46:18.080 didn't have

01:46:18.840 to.

01:46:19.060 I mean, he's

01:46:19.320 God.

01:46:19.840 So there

01:46:21.060 must be

01:46:22.140 more to

01:46:23.980 that.

01:46:25.260 Maybe

01:46:25.740 set of

01:46:26.460 instructions

01:46:27.000 for us.

01:46:28.120 You know,

01:46:28.440 we're human

01:46:28.840 after all.

01:46:29.460 We're frail.

01:46:29.920 We're fragile.

01:46:30.940 As much as

01:46:31.740 we like to

01:46:32.220 think we're

01:46:32.600 strong.

01:46:36.980 We can't

01:46:37.880 do it all

01:46:38.700 alone.

01:46:39.180 The good

01:46:39.580 news is

01:46:40.340 you don't

01:46:40.760 have to.

01:46:45.440 Take some

01:46:46.140 time and

01:46:46.780 think about

01:46:47.420 what matters

01:46:48.060 most.

01:46:48.920 Over the

01:46:49.540 next couple

01:46:50.040 of days,

01:46:50.980 maybe you

01:46:53.520 start to

01:46:53.960 think about

01:46:54.620 some of the

01:46:56.220 things that

01:46:56.700 are going

01:46:57.420 well already.

01:46:59.140 I like to

01:46:59.920 make a list

01:47:00.460 in the morning.

01:47:01.060 Three things

01:47:01.600 that are

01:47:01.900 great.

01:47:04.140 Three things

01:47:04.700 that are

01:47:05.260 really,

01:47:06.860 you know,

01:47:07.080 I'm grateful

01:47:07.520 for something

01:47:08.700 I've been

01:47:09.040 blessed with

01:47:09.500 my health,

01:47:10.360 my children,

01:47:11.340 whatever it

01:47:11.760 might be.

01:47:14.700 That'll be

01:47:15.400 enough to

01:47:16.000 set you up,

01:47:17.100 I think,

01:47:17.520 on the right

01:47:18.280 path to

01:47:18.840 making a

01:47:19.260 difference.

01:47:19.660 We need

01:47:20.160 you in the

01:47:20.540 fight.

01:47:21.160 We need

01:47:21.460 you well

01:47:21.740 rested so

01:47:23.160 that you

01:47:23.460 continue.

01:47:24.240 Folks,

01:47:24.580 I don't

01:47:26.140 ever want

01:47:27.840 to see you

01:47:28.260 give up.

01:47:29.100 I don't

01:47:29.660 ever want

01:47:30.040 to give

01:47:30.280 up.

01:47:30.460 We need

01:47:31.620 each other.

01:47:33.000 and we

01:47:34.820 need to

01:47:35.100 recognize

01:47:35.480 where our

01:47:35.840 strength

01:47:36.380 and our

01:47:37.020 hope

01:47:37.220 comes

01:47:37.560 from.

01:47:39.260 It is

01:47:39.900 always an

01:47:40.480 honor and

01:47:40.800 a pleasure

01:47:41.120 filling in

01:47:41.940 for Glenn.

01:47:43.700 Thanks to

01:47:44.260 the folks

01:47:44.560 back in

01:47:44.960 Dallas who

01:47:45.420 do such

01:47:45.840 an amazing

01:47:46.300 job.

01:47:46.880 I gotta

01:47:47.140 tell you,

01:47:47.480 they make

01:47:47.740 this look

01:47:48.180 and sound

01:47:48.680 so easy.

01:47:50.860 They're

01:47:51.300 fantastic.

01:47:52.600 Wishing you

01:47:53.000 the best,

01:47:53.740 no matter

01:47:54.080 where you

01:47:54.580 are.
