00:00:00.140 It's Thursday, and I'm just going to leave it at that.

00:00:09.320 I guess that's what it is.

00:00:10.380 How do we make Thursday every day?

00:00:15.200 All right, let me tell you about American Financing.

00:00:20.660 American Financing, if you are looking to buy a home, now is the time.

00:00:26.980 But please don't overspend.

00:00:29.240 Please don't get in over your head.

00:00:32.200 Please think about the future and how dicey things could get.

00:00:38.160 American Financing does not work for the bank.

00:00:41.020 They don't take any kickbacks from the bank in jamming you into a loan, and that's where everybody gets into trouble.

00:00:47.220 These are honest brokers that work not on commission but are salary-based, so they really are truly looking for the right loan for you.

00:00:55.500 If you need to refi, you want to consolidate, or you want to buy a new home, now is the time.

00:03:53.060 yeah yeah

00:03:56.640 jazio cortez on how the senate just did not take this bill seriously they did not take this bill

00:04:12.180 what they asked you to vote on it go vote on it you brought it up vote no no you're not taking it

00:04:20.240 seriously i'm saying you can vote on it right now no we got to talk about it wait a minute you got to

00:04:29.020 talk about it all of you guys have endorsed this you proposed it you said it was the most important

00:04:35.560 thing elizabeth warren came out and said it was the freaking moon shot it was as important if not more

00:04:41.640 important than going to the moon which i think a lot of democrats might relate to because i think

00:04:49.600 they've been deprived of oxygen for a while like you would if you lived on the moon he this is craziness

00:04:57.700 we're going to talk about that coming up in just a second but also the guy who i mean if we had 0.99

00:05:05.540 a scale and we could weigh the balls on a person i would think that jussie which is a stupid name 1.00

00:05:16.220 smallette equally as stupid uh i think he might win i i have a theory that he would not be nearly in 1.00

00:05:26.180 as much trouble if he would have not gone on abc and said yep i mean i'm just you know the police are 0.99

00:05:33.520 looking and i'm just so beaten up about this and i believe it and i think that just irritated the

00:05:38.780 police and the mayor so much that this guy had the balls to go on television and say that when it

00:05:45.480 wasn't true acting like the victim after he already faked acting like a victim correct is really

00:05:51.120 frustrating so really frustrating then when they dismiss the charges earlier this week he just

00:05:57.600 ratchets it up he's if you were innocent why did you pay ten thousand dollars that seems like a pretty

00:06:05.740 bad deal for a guy who's been vindicated okay so he gives up his bail money of ten thousand dollars

00:06:13.860 then he goes out and says again i've been completely vindicated which was not the deal i think he's even

00:06:22.900 in more trouble and then this is what his attorney says yesterday listen to this clearly you think the

00:06:31.700 police are not telling the truth about jussie are you going to sue we're weighing our options now for

00:06:36.560 jussie what's really important is he really just wants his career and his life back again he did not

00:06:41.640 ask for any of this he was a victim of a crime this has completely spiraled out of control and become

00:06:47.780 a political um event at this point and his goal and focus right now is just getting his life back

00:06:55.080 on track he has not even started healing from the initial attack because he's been dealing with

00:06:59.260 everything that's happened since then oh my oh my oh my so they're weighing their options there we don't

00:07:05.580 know we might sue the police you might sue the police forget the bleach you are just putting gasoline

00:07:13.580 all over yourself you're just and you're in a match factory it's crazy i mean they were lucky

00:07:20.680 enough to get the whole case sealed at this point even though the fbi is looking into it and we more

00:07:24.960 may come out but if they were to actually sue and open themselves up to all of the evidence coming out

00:07:31.180 anyway please please do it please do it please because this there needs to be some justice here and

00:07:37.660 you know again i i wasn't there we know that we know what he said happened didn't happen however

00:07:45.160 right like we know for a fact two white guys did not do not do it we know because we saw we have video

00:07:52.380 of the two people who were accused the two brothers with you'd be buying the bleach buying the rope

00:07:58.720 buying the mega buying the masks buying everything everything what were they doing were they were are

00:08:06.960 they are they uh some sort of profits where they bought that stuff because they were going to reenact

00:08:13.600 it in their own home just for fun later but they saw this event coming i mean what what what is the

00:08:20.420 other reason i want to know just that guys if this isn't true which the brothers say it is

00:08:27.880 guys if this isn't true why did you go out in the middle of the night to hardware store and buy all

00:08:35.720 this stuff what did you do with that what what what crazy list has those items on it except for let's go

00:08:47.080 throw bleach on somebody throw a noose around their neck shout you know this is trump country

00:08:54.120 what else yeah there's not a lot of them no you'd have maybe maybe well because you had an incident

00:09:01.400 uh similar to this recently in which you went to a yard sale and wanted to buy a blank canvas right

00:09:10.080 well no i just i look he's one of the campus just wanted canvas and you picked you picked up a painting

00:09:15.500 and it was very controversial yes you know me i'm into recycling right you're a big environmentalist as

00:09:23.020 you were just talking about with a green new deal yeah huge and uh so you picked up this painting

00:09:29.360 yeah at a yard sale i didn't buy it for the painting and i'm sorry i started seeing it after i got home

00:09:36.280 and i thought okay it's clearly unfinished right it's clearly undone unfinished and uh it it looks like

00:09:44.940 the way german propaganda used to make jews look it's like the artist wanted to make hitler 0.95

00:09:52.020 kind of look like that rat kind of guy yeah they used to make jews look like the victim of his own 1.00

00:09:58.280 propaganda correct then he's holding this piece of paper and i'm guessing it doesn't say anything on

00:10:03.840 it yet because it's unfinished i'm guessing but i'm thinking it probably was going to say uh you know uh

00:10:11.800 infanticide not rejected by the senate and so then there's this hitler kind of looking down at this

00:10:19.680 paper like what and then up above and it looks like the looks like the artist was just like i'm

00:10:25.120 just gonna throw this on here because i just i don't know if this is gonna work and it says wait

00:10:30.120 you mean i only had to call it planned parenthood right i mean an offensive uh controversial piece

00:10:38.400 of art i i thought and you as the 100th most important person in the world of art would know

00:10:44.160 yeah that that's a very controversial thing but again you just bought it at a yard sale for the

00:10:49.380 canvas correct nothing to do with this right perhaps these two brothers yeah were looking to

00:10:55.500 design a hat but had no blank hats okay they needed a white hat to be able to design their incredible

00:11:04.080 artwork on the only hat they could find was red and the only way to get it to white was bleach

00:11:09.700 ah so they bought a red hat they bleached okay red hat all right and the rope was simply like you

00:11:18.000 know when you um uh when you have like sunglasses and some people put the little little piece of

00:11:24.740 like you know a string on the back so like they can hold it around their neck yeah when they take

00:11:28.780 them off sure perhaps that it's chicago it's a windy area perhaps they were concerned this hat would

00:11:35.700 blow off of their heads so you put rope on the back of the back of the hat and tied it to maybe

00:11:40.320 still i think you're onto something in case well you tied it onto your waist well it wasn't just like

00:11:46.160 the glasses that just kind of hangs around your neck well it's young and around your neck it would

00:11:49.980 you know the hat could still blow off so you'd have to tie it to like your belt that's a good

00:11:55.160 fashion accessory first of all it's sexy i mean that's the one you could start there okay

00:11:59.520 we could start there that is higher rope i think that's i think that's very logical i think maybe

00:12:06.540 we should we should reenact this we should we should get a hat we should bleach it let's try it

00:12:11.220 use the rope let's try it around and see if because i mean if you did you watch making a murderer season

00:12:15.780 two by any chance no i did not uh it's on netflix of course and one of the big focuses of the second

00:12:21.240 season is they try all these other scenarios out that they think could explain the murder and they

00:12:28.120 just basically reenact let's do it can we do it tomorrow can we do it let's get the hat let's get

00:12:33.980 the bleach let's get the rope uh and uh will uh the making of the jesse smollett non hate mongering

00:12:45.700 friends that he had right right that's the great title i don't know if netflix takes it but maybe

00:12:53.140 right we're gonna do that tomorrow uh by the way the tmz founder uh let me play the audio here

00:13:00.200 um he said he's never seen anything like this is not the way celebrities are usually treated

00:13:05.480 i have never seen anything quite like this in my entire career nobody understands what really

00:13:13.280 happened here other than a few people in the state's attorney's office you're exactly right this

00:13:17.560 is bizarre makes no sense i've seen celebrities being handled differently sometimes more harshly

00:13:25.840 and sometimes less than the average joe but this case is different from the way all celebrities would

00:13:32.460 be treated there is something fundamentally different in this case i have never seen this

00:13:37.900 kind of a disposition where the state's attorney secretly says go to jesse jackson's for the weekend

00:13:43.760 spend a couple hours you know working on camera shots and then we'll call that community i've never

00:13:48.700 seen anything like that it's different from other celebs well you know now that's that was it's

00:13:59.260 probably the bleach and the hat thing right and the rope around the belt i think you you might be

00:14:04.380 on to something we'll pick that up on tomorrow's program booker had a town hall yesterday that was

00:14:10.440 pretty interesting he's he's i think right now you could just put him in the white house why even

00:14:15.660 have the election after that town hall it was so good well because we have to keep a democrat sure

00:14:20.440 we're gonna have we're going to have socialism but we want it to be democratic that's what we

00:14:26.180 okay so we want to we want to at least have the did you read that appearance of a vote did you read

00:14:29.680 the article about how uh the nazis weren't socialist the national gosh socialists were not socialist

00:14:37.360 as i was reading i was like they will literally do anything anything anything they will even say

00:14:42.760 the words that you know mean things that they don't it's crazy it's incredible it is unbelievable

00:14:49.020 it goes to my snowball yesterday on the uh the news and why it matters i talked about a snowball

00:14:55.520 and they've been making this giant small snowball and rolling it up the hill and they're like we're

00:15:01.380 gonna get it to the top and it's gonna roll down the hill and crush everything and it's just stopped

00:15:07.020 and they keep pushing and they keep adding to it and it stopped and i think it's about to roll back

00:15:12.980 on top of them we'll give that here in just a second first let me tell you about simply safe

00:15:37.360 guy who was just trying to help his friends who had rental apartments and there was this uh this

00:15:43.180 string of burglaries that were going on in the neighborhood and he's like you know what let me

00:15:47.780 see if i can come up with something and so he did he came up with this this burglar alarm that was

00:15:52.240 completely wireless because they nobody everybody was renting and they couldn't drill holes in the walls

00:15:57.600 and they couldn't have contracts and everything else well it took off in this neighborhood and

00:16:01.460 that's when he went i i think i have something here and he did simply safe home security an amazing

00:16:39.820 i have to tell you i um last night we watched uh green book have you seen green book i have not

00:17:00.640 one best picture right i don't i have no idea oh by the way we've got to get a movie review i was

00:17:07.420 invited to go see a screening of dumbo which i'm really nervous about because it's one of my

00:17:13.400 favorite movies but also really excited about it too right yes i'm very worried about it though

00:17:17.580 because it's tim burton and tim burton always misses the heart by this much just barely misses the mark

00:17:26.200 uh and you've been saying this for years this is one of the first like pop culture observations i can

00:17:33.380 remember from you really yeah i don't you've always every tim burton movie you say the same thing

00:17:37.260 it's but it's true he's not every single time but most time 99 percent of the time like edward

00:17:44.600 scissorhands i think hit it it hit the heart just right usually it just misses it and and you're like

00:17:53.840 well no no all you had to do was just a little bit of this and it would have hit the heart dumbo is

00:18:00.700 all about heart and i couldn't go they scheduled it twice and i just i just couldn't make it so i

00:18:08.240 sent marissa who is also a big disney fan and dumbo is one of your biggest one of the your favorite

00:18:14.360 movies disney nerd would probably be a better no there is no disney nerd thank you uh dumbo i

00:18:21.520 wouldn't say it's one of my favorites because it's so sad just like bambi i'm not a fan of emotion

00:18:26.160 quite like that oh my gosh well i don't like bambi either but the man in this scenario is the one who

00:18:32.340 likes the crying oh my gosh dumbo is so sweet it was so sweet emotional was it good okay so a lot of

00:18:40.960 the reviews are saying it missed the mark i 100 disagree though i thought it was excellent i thought

00:18:49.580 it was excellent because did you see um beauty and the beast live action did you like it i was okay it

00:18:56.060 was boring because it was the exact same as the cartoon so everyone's saying they don't like the

00:19:00.900 new dumbo because it's too different but it's refreshing to have something different i don't want

00:19:06.600 the cartoon in real life form the shot for shot remake in real life yeah it's not a good i kind of

00:19:12.520 like i kind of like it sometimes sometimes i'm like okay but i kind of like that there's they're

00:19:18.060 they're doing it you know right back to the uh the original i kind of really like that dumbo though

00:19:24.940 you can't it was only 70 minutes it was a short it was short so yeah it was 70 minutes so you have to

00:19:30.580 add more uh and then and also the animals don't talk in this one right the animals the

00:19:36.580 animals do talk talk in real life either marissa just so you're aware you don't know that and you

00:19:40.800 have to uh you have to dump a lot of dicey scenes today like the crows yep i mean the crows are like

00:19:48.220 they didn't make it in the film yeah i'm not surprised i don't remember the crows the crows are

00:19:53.160 singing i've seen and i've seen this fly i've seen that fly and you're like oh boy this is not going to

00:20:00.760 fly uh oh so yeah yeah so the black crows are not in this one uh so you've you've changed it but

00:20:11.060 all all i care about is the heart between dumbo and the mom mom it's still there and i think it's

00:20:20.360 unbelievable some people don't agree with me my husband didn't agree with it but i thought

00:20:24.920 that the the heart they gave dumbo was just so the animation it was like he was real it blew my

00:20:31.760 mind disney is killing it with the animation i think 70 minutes you know what is enough for some

00:20:37.240 movies though let's be honest about it not disney movies for example the new freak i know this is my

00:20:42.160 my jihad in life the new avengers movie is three hours and two minutes this is you're not okay wait

00:20:49.520 wait wait wait i would agree with you if they were doing you know uh captain america three hours

00:20:54.860 fine this is you don't you don't appreciate marvel movies this is all of the storylines coming

00:21:02.240 together that's what they do all the time they just throw all it's not they have a giant blender

00:21:06.960 and they take all the action figures and they throw it in and turn it on high and that's every

00:21:10.040 marvel movie it's really not all three hours is 14 marvel movies that's how much you all of the

00:21:16.200 movies are have led to this one storyline yeah i know it's the greatest crossover event since i got

00:21:22.860 no i just you can't tell it in i mean it's like telling the lord of the rings i hate to compare the

00:21:29.620 two but it's like the lord of the rings it takes three hours to tell that story no it didn't it took

00:21:35.260 way longer than three hours to tell that story they can't this one is taking about five six movies that

00:21:40.240 series i know i know i know and this one is you know it's comic book so it's not exactly

00:21:46.100 you know it's not lord of the rings so they're only doing it in five hours instead of how long

00:21:51.900 16 hours how long are these comic books is they're longer than the black book of communism

00:21:56.660 no but i just don't understand because it's years it's decades of stories they're telling what each

00:22:04.160 movie feels like decades that's the problem wrong on that i will tell you though if i were disney i

00:22:09.920 would be freaking out right now on what captain america has come out and said have you heard this

00:22:17.760 he's glenn that's a movie he's not even real yeah i know that's unbelievable he is you know the nice

00:22:24.100 thing about the marvel movies is they're not political at all they're not and they have just good

00:22:31.620 values and it's just good captain america has said he feels guilty for not not speaking out about

00:22:40.620 politics so he's gonna start his own uh super pack and he's gonna start speaking out shut up

00:22:46.780 shut up i don't care if your super pack was for you know donald trump or against donald shut up 0.98

00:22:54.720 captain america shut up you're listening to glenn beck walt should be he should be thawed and 0.99

00:23:02.380 defrosted and brought back to life just to say that shut up anyway uh let me tell you about uh let me tell 0.98

00:23:09.260 you about something that i think you really need because people are um following you and this is all

00:23:15.200 going to surveillance capitalism uh and every keystroke every single keystroke you make can be found by

00:23:24.120 google and everybody else it's all stored unless you have a virtual private network and i i know you

00:23:30.360 have nothing to hide or anything like that but this is to this is to predict you with 100 certainty

00:23:38.560 i just don't like this at all i'm not comfortable with people storing this information on me

00:23:44.820 norton.com slash vpn is your solution it starts at three dollars and 33 cents a month if you sign up for

00:23:51.820 a year you download the app you put in the password one time and then it gives you a virtual private

00:23:57.960 network that stops all these companies and all of these people from collecting all kinds of data on

00:24:05.100 you it will protect you from thieves it will protect you from this kind of surveillance norton.com

00:24:12.640 slash vpn do it now when you're a little kid you probably loved comic books and when you're a

00:24:18.820 little kid you probably loved when people spoke in high voices because of helium well it's helium

00:24:23.080 thursday so get ready

00:24:24.460 this is the glenn beck program um for some reason glenn and pad have decided to dedicate

00:24:43.460 a segment once a week to helium thursdays this is a segment in which they discuss something

00:24:51.800 while sounding like they're on helium this week on helium thursday they discuss the green new deal

00:24:59.300 hello pat hello glenn i want to talk to you about the serious issue of global warming and the new green

00:25:08.960 green new deal or the green new deal whichever right right so i don't know if anybody saw um aoc's speech

00:25:17.920 yesterday but i believe that it needs to be taken seriously oh and we're treating it with the utmost

00:25:25.560 seriousness all right so may i quote she said yesterday people are dying people are dying

00:25:37.280 and this is not an elitist issue this is a quality of life issue you want to tell people that their

00:25:46.780 concern and their desire for clean air clean water is elitist tell that to the kids in the south

00:25:54.780 bronx which are suffering from the highest rates of childhood asthma in the country tell that to the

00:26:01.900 families in flint who whose kids have their blood ascending in lead levels their brains are damaged for

00:26:10.100 the rest of their lives but didn't have anything to do with climate change by the way call them elitist

00:26:16.360 you're telling them that those kids are trying to get onto a plane to davos people are dying

00:26:25.360 they're dying and the response from the other side of the aisle is to introduce an amendment

00:26:34.260 for five minutes before a hearing in a markup

00:26:39.200 will no one take this seriously can you take it more seriously than putting it up for a vote

00:26:47.600 i don't i don't think you can i don't think you can uh i noticed that uh daisy harano daisy head maizey

00:26:57.960 yes uh she was asked if she wants to have it both ways because she didn't want the vote but she 0.99

00:27:05.620 is a co-sponsor of the bill and so she was asked yesterday even by katie tur on cnn if she's trying to

00:27:15.300 have it both ways yes and she said no this is an aspirational document oh it's aspirational i

00:27:24.400 thought you wanted i thought you wanted it to be a policy well why would you put the bill together

00:27:29.700 with all of the policies in it if it was just aspirational because i do know an aspirational

00:27:37.060 document but they seem to hate it's one that says something like uh all men are created equal

00:27:44.640 and endowed by their creator or something like that if this is just aspirational why don't you take

00:27:50.920 that document and stick it up your aspiration

00:27:54.900 that's my question to daisy head maizey well we talk about cost but we're gonna pay for this said

00:28:07.700 acasio cortez whether we do the new deal or not because towns and cities are going underwater

00:28:15.920 which ones i missed that report

00:28:20.960 oh there's lots of them there is malibu is underwater pretty sure

00:28:28.800 huh uh there is um um um um is miami miami's gotta be underwater yeah atlantis is underwater

00:28:42.560 that's true so there's lots of them anyway she says we're gonna pay for them and we're either

00:28:48.800 gonna decide if we're gonna pay or react we're gonna react and pay or be proactive and pay

00:28:56.860 she says i'm very sad that the government knew that climate change was real back in 1989 when nasa

00:29:06.200 was reporting this and the private sector knew it even before they knew it back in the 1970s

00:29:15.360 so we had to wait around until the time i was born to address this issue well but in the 1970s

00:29:26.680 it was global cooling right we were going into an ice age i know that so we're just taking it

00:29:33.860 please pat are you taking this seriously i am i am very concerned i wish it didn't have to cost so

00:29:41.860 much but i'm gonna turn 30 this year and for the entire 30 years of my lifetime we did not make

00:29:49.920 substantial investments to prepare our country for what we know is coming so we have a choice now

00:29:57.540 lower the cost now and pursue the new the green new deal or realize that it will cost far more

00:30:07.820 if we do not pass it this has been helium thursdays on the glenn beck program

00:30:16.280 powerful i think it's i think it's much more powerful it is it is it's at least you can at least

00:30:27.880 you can deal with it it gave that story the gravitas it deserves yes don't you think yes because they're

00:30:33.580 they're always saying that we just won't deal with things and and we should deal with them we 0.93

00:30:39.120 should deal with them seriously i think it is i think it is incredible that these clowns 0.58

00:30:44.920 actually put a bill together and then okay let's pass it all right we'll get it when was the last time 0.65

00:30:54.180 the democrat said okay you guys created a bill you did the border wall go ahead pass it let's vote on

00:31:04.280 it right now right they've never done that no never done that i wish they would i do too okay great

00:31:12.400 let's put everybody on record let's put everybody on record go ahead and what does ocasio cortez say

00:31:18.460 she says that she told everybody how to vote she said she told everybody that they had to vote present

00:31:26.720 that was the way to do it so are you telling me all you people running for president of the united

00:31:32.600 states that ocasio cortez is telling you how to vote that's what she's saying democrats oh she's saying

00:31:42.000 that she's telling you how to vote god i can't wait for this i can't wait for this fall oh man this

00:31:47.120 is gonna be so have you heard my snowball theory yet uh yes that the snowball has gotten so big and

00:31:53.380 they're pushing it uphill and it's about to roll back on yes yes because it's collecting all kinds

00:31:58.820 of stuff where it's becoming you know i talked yesterday about the creepy valley or the uncanny valley

00:32:05.220 do you know what the uncanny valley is no uncanny valley uncanny valley is a thing in cgi and animation

00:32:12.080 and we all have experienced it for instance you know when you went to see um the polar express

00:32:20.360 it was good but it wasn't it was just a little creepy the tom hanks character was just a little

00:32:26.560 creepy not creepy but just a little bit it wasn't off-putting it was off-putting it wasn't it wasn't

00:32:31.860 warm it wasn't you didn't want to embrace it you know what i mean yeah it's because they were trying

00:32:36.860 to make him look too human that's why pixar and everybody else when they do cgi they will make

00:32:42.820 their eyes really big they will distort the human features because as you get closer to looking just

00:32:49.620 like a human there's something innate in us that says ick when it's not exactly right we say ick

00:32:56.520 there's something wrong with that and that's called the uncanny valley so as you get closer and closer

00:33:01.180 to um you know having this human as cgi gets better and better and goes up this hill all of a sudden it

00:33:09.340 reaches a point to where it's too close but not right and it plunges down and it creeps people out

00:33:15.700 that's what's happening with the democrats right now they are the american people are compassionate

00:33:24.440 they're fair they don't want people to be racist nobody wants to be around nazis nobody wants people

00:33:32.560 to have sexual harassment so they've done all these things and they're getting closer and closer to like

00:33:39.040 you know the heart and they're like yeah this is this is this is us this is us this is us and it's going

00:33:45.640 up and then all of a sudden it goes too far and you're like oh wait a minute there's something really

00:33:53.740 wrong here and even if you can't put your foot finger on it it's just in all places with abortion

00:34:01.280 it went compassion compassion compassion compassion to uh-oh there's something wrong here i don't feel

00:34:07.000 good about where this is headed same thing with jesse smallette and we saw it with with um the me too

00:34:14.460 movement with um uh what's his name uh the supreme court justice uh um kavanaugh kavanaugh people were

00:34:23.620 like okay no this is a really good thing the me too movement then it started to get really creepy

00:34:28.100 and then it hit kavanaugh and it fell apart they're standing behind this giant snowball of social justice

00:34:34.860 green energy all of this stuff they've made this snowball it kept getting bigger and bigger and

00:34:40.720 they're just about up at the top and they're thinking we are going to roll it down into that

00:34:45.040 valley and we're going to crush everybody but the snowball i firmly believe has stopped

00:34:50.880 it's not rolling back yet but it's stopped and they're pushing harder and harder and pushing more

00:34:56.640 snow on it more things on it and they don't realize that that snowball because they keep doing this is

00:35:02.900 going to roll back and crush them what do you think of that i think i think it's a pretty good analogy i

00:35:08.260 think i think that could happen i hope it happens because otherwise we're doomed they always that

00:35:13.160 snowball goes over the top and down the other side we're done it's a it's a real problem yeah

00:35:17.380 it's done one way or another it's going to wipe it's going to wipe one one way or the other it's

00:35:22.120 going to wipe everything out it's either going to wipe out all this social justice you know there is

00:35:28.440 there there is no difference between male and female there is no right and wrong uh it's all about

00:35:34.480 social justice reverse the power pyramid of the most you know intersected being the most powerful

00:35:42.000 all of that if it rolls down the hill towards us they get to the top and it rolls down it that's

00:35:49.200 the world we will have but i have a feeling the american people are being creeped out by it it's

00:35:55.880 really hard to get anything meaningful out of this conversation without helium right see that's exactly

00:36:01.660 right exactly right all right let me tell you about lifelock it is um the most wonderful time of

00:36:08.860 the year if andy williams were still alive he would be doing that for people who are trying to steal

00:36:13.080 your uh information the most wonderful time of the year i can get their information no uh i was just

00:36:22.820 oh i went the whole song no no i don't think i went too far already it started to creep me out

00:36:27.740 and the snowball started to roll back on me anyway um this is the time of the year where they can get

00:36:34.400 your uh tax id numbers they can get your social security number they can get absolutely everything

00:36:40.780 on you this is a very dangerous time this is the time that you want lifelock lifelock.com use the

00:36:48.460 promo code back and you're going to save 10 off your first year but lifelock.com is the is the group

00:36:54.140 that actually watches everything you can have people just monitor your credit they can monitor your

00:36:59.560 you know credit cards or whatever nobody can monitor absolutely everything but lifelock is

00:37:06.380 the only one that is out there that is really trying to look at everything banks will protect

00:37:11.780 you on one one thing credit card companies on another but they won't put them all together that's

00:37:18.540 what lifelock does and if they see that there is a threat out there if your information is being used

00:37:24.480 they have u.s based specialists that work to fix it it's lifelock.com use the promo code back

00:37:30.760 lifelock.com 1-800-LIFELOCK 1-800-LIFELOCK use the promo code back and you'll save 10 off your first

00:37:38.000 year promo code back 1-800-LIFELOCK or lifelock.com this is the glenbeck program

00:37:46.620 welcome to the program um we have um tomorrow i'm going to be in salt lake city and i think

00:37:56.540 uh the two shows that i've promised to be at uh are are sold out i'm going to try to go to some

00:38:02.080 other um theaters and um and greet the audience at unplanned it is a new movie um that exposes

00:38:11.380 planned parenthood for what it is i want you to know when i say this this is one of those things

00:38:15.500 that i'd be driving in my car and i'd listen to and go yeah i should do that but then i'd never do

00:38:19.480 it because on the weekend i want to just i just want to unplug and i don't want any heavy issues

00:38:25.580 and i don't want to go to a movie that's heavy this is not a heavy movie i'm telling you it is

00:38:30.740 the most bizarre thing it will no no wait hear me out it's the most bizarre thing it will be one of

00:38:36.420 the heaviest things that you and your family could ever talk about and witness in especially in that 22nd

00:38:43.280 period and it will solidify your kids absolutely solidify abortion is murder um however you walk 1.00

00:38:52.320 out not heavy it's not like watching schindler's list or one of those movies you're like oh this

00:38:57.760 is going to be a dirge but it's good for me it's not it's you walk out feeling really good it's really

00:39:04.980 a positive movie all the way around there are no there you know the the women going in for the 1.00

00:39:10.940 abortion they're not torn apart the women working at the clinic they're not torn apart uh nobody

00:39:18.560 really it's just this is what this is and it's so grotesque you know you see it really you begin to

00:39:28.420 see it for what it really is this is a money-making venture period this is all about money and it's

00:39:35.020 grotesque so anyway i'm going out to salt lake because um you know there's this divide um between

00:39:44.940 uh religions and it's silly now i'm not talking about theology theology is another thing we can

00:39:51.040 argue about theology all we want but when it comes to life and everything else we are in this together

00:39:57.520 and if we're not we're toast and i think that with the country the way it is every person of faith and

00:40:05.720 i don't care what faith it is every person of faith if you believe that we have had divine providence

00:40:12.620 and protection in this country it's about to be gone and we all have to start standing up and the

00:40:19.520 and i really truly believe we can change what's happening with planned parenthood and abortion right

00:40:27.160 now we can change it i think it's going to be i think it'll end in the next 10 years if we do what

00:40:32.460 we're supposed to do i think it could end in the next five um and this movie will play a role in that

00:40:38.440 but we have to stand together please they've added like 10 shows to each of these theaters of

00:40:45.640 unplanned in in salt lake wherever you are there's a thousand theaters that are showing it please if you

00:40:53.400 are somebody uh that wants your children to understand and be forever solidified it is rated r but it's a

00:41:02.680 political rated r and we can explain it some other time uh if your kids are 13 take them to this movie

00:41:11.060 this weekend go as a family and take them this weekend it's critical you're listening to glenn beck

00:41:19.980 san antonio texas has banned chick-fil-a from the airport from the airport yeah yeah amazing amazing

00:41:35.940 i mean we're losing texas man it's it's happening fast texans are not awake to what is really happening

00:41:42.520 in texas they all just roll their eyes and like oh come on texas will be able to stay

00:41:46.320 no they're spending hundreds of millions of dollars to flip this state soros is all over this state

00:41:53.620 and if you lose texas you don't you you don't have a chance for the constitution ever i can't wait to tell

00:42:00.240 you what's what's uh uh happening with elizabeth warren what she said yesterday also we're going to get

00:42:05.400 into cory booker and through the jussie sommelier case uh we'll do that in a second first let me tell you

00:42:10.920 about real estate agents i trust.com real estate agents i trust.com is a uh is a service that you

00:42:16.740 can go to and say hey look i'm looking to buy or sell a house in this area and what we do is we have

00:42:46.540 you're in one of those categories sell your home fast for the most amount of money and find the

00:42:51.040 right neighborhood for your next house real estate agents i trust.com real estate agents i trust.com

00:43:08.780 the fusion of entertainment and enlightenment this is the glenbeck program so yesterday on my tv show i

00:43:20.080 had uh i had dr wilford riley on and uh he's a guy who's just written a new book that's really really

00:43:27.940 good where he has looked into claims of hate crimes and he has found that most of these are not true

00:43:35.380 most of these are not true now this is a a professor from kentucky he's a black guy so he has no axe to

00:43:43.580 grind here uh he's just looking at the stats so what does this mean this jussie smollett case what does

00:43:52.500 this mean to those who really would like to claim that there's a hate crime that's going on for political

00:44:00.160 reasons we're going to talk to him when we come back in one minute

00:44:06.260 this is the glenbeck program all right i want to tell you about the best chair i've ever sat in

00:44:13.740 and i mean that best chair i've ever sat in it's the x chair i've had lots of office chairs i've spent

00:44:42.280 a free foot rest if you use the promo code back i don't even have the foot rest i'm telling you you

00:44:47.020 lean back in this chair and it's as comfortable as a recliner i wouldn't i mean i'd go to a movie theater

00:44:52.700 that had these chairs oh yeah i mean they've now improved all the seating and in these movie theaters

00:44:58.660 and you almost get disappointed when you go in one and they don't have like the leather recliner

00:45:01.940 right uh at least if you're in texas if you're in new york city you're sitting on like a folding chair

00:45:06.080 i know but uh yeah and the x chair would be an improvement that was this is a great comfortable chair

00:45:11.700 so order today you can get the you know money back guarantee um and you know just ship it back if you

00:45:30.940 you'll get a free foot rest as well as the hundred dollar savings eight four four four x chair that's

00:45:35.620 eight four four four x chair all right um i want to pick up a conversation that i was having with uh

00:45:52.040 dr will reilly yesterday um about uh hate crimes tell me about quickly your search on hate crimes and

00:46:01.680 what you what you write about in uh hate crime hoax how did you come up with this what was your

00:46:07.560 methodology and what did you find well in a sentence the pitch line good to be back on with

00:46:13.520 you guys by the way thank you in a sentence yeah the the pitch line for hate crime hoax is that

00:46:18.420 very many probably most of the high profile widely publicized hate crime incidents that we've seen in

00:46:25.300 the recent past have turned out to be hoaxes so we recently saw the complete collapse of the

00:46:30.540 jussie smollett case uh just a bit before that the last my last appearance we discussed covington

00:46:35.340 catholic where the claim was that this group of prep school athletes had surrounded this elderly

00:46:40.420 native american guy they chanted build the wall odd thing to say to an indian they tried to take his

00:46:45.900 drum away uh but eastern michigan there was allegedly graffiti all over the campus targeting african

00:46:51.640 american students air force academy where j silberia literally came to the campus and spoke out

00:46:57.380 against racism one of our top generals uh grand rapids where a young black woman claimed that white

00:47:02.540 men urinated on her uh university of virginia where the fraternities were accused of holding 0.93

00:47:07.060 these sort of underground story of o style rape rings duke lacrosse to wanna brawley i mean you could

00:47:12.820 go back for decades with this sure all of the cases that i just mentioned turned out not to have

00:47:17.380 been real and a couple of years ago as a graduate student in chicago i became aware of this trend

00:47:22.280 because i was actually involved in a hate crime hopes case um the bar velvet ultra lounge velvet rope

00:47:29.400 ultra lounge which was a very trendy it was billed as a hipster bisexual nightlife experience if i

00:47:35.420 recall correctly very chicago but um this trendy bar that a couple of my friends and one of my ex

00:47:41.600 girlfriends would attend from time to time burned to the ground this was i believe in 2013

00:47:45.420 and the claim of the owner was that throughout the bar there were written these horrendous anti-gay

00:47:51.760 slurs um you know gasoline or some accelerant had been used to set the place on fire he had been

00:47:57.920 targeted with hate so i sort of college casually followed that case like most young professionals

00:48:03.000 in chicago at the time and as i did that i became aware of another case which involved a guy named

00:48:07.840 derrick cockaline at the university of chicago uh this was a student activist uh typical cliche guavara

00:48:14.200 type campus radical but he uh claimed that his facebook and twitter page had been hacked and

00:48:20.580 these very violent messages threatening him with things that are never okay brutal rape and so on

00:48:25.080 had been sent to him by conservative students so i was paying attention to both these cases and there

00:48:29.480 were a few others going on in the midwest at the time uh at grand valley state a young black woman

00:48:34.240 claimed that during black history month someone had broken into her room i believe and written

00:48:39.360 anti-black epithets on kind of the whiteboard that college students keep

00:48:42.600 uh at michigan tech a white student was suspended for allegedly initially saying he was going to 0.99

00:48:47.980 shoot all the black people on campus it turned out he said he was going to shoot them a smile on twitter 0.98

00:48:52.120 that was photographed using screenshots it was miscropped to make him look like a racist 0.99

00:48:57.660 but as i follow these local cases they all collapsed i mean four or five big name high profile cases you

00:49:04.480 can still find in the velvage ultra lounge case you had a bizarre situation where the owner apparently

00:49:10.400 owed a lot of money to in chicago perhaps people you wouldn't necessarily want to owe money to

00:49:14.780 he'd racked up a lot of debt and he just set the place on fire burned it to the ground

00:49:19.600 and then claimed it was a hate crime so held a fundraiser where he raised something like thirty

00:49:25.360 thousand dollars paid off his debts and opened a new business so the story that actually emerged was

00:49:30.020 kind of a circus as i understand he owns a bar called bonsai bar in chicago today

00:49:33.860 um but following these cases and watching them collapse as they did as i said at michigan tech

00:49:40.900 the student matt schultz turned out to be a complete anti-racist christian guy as i recall no racial

00:49:46.000 prejudices he had actually said i'm going to shoot everyone a smile tomorrow to tone down these racial

00:49:50.640 tensions and a campus activist had taken that message screenshot it and cropped it to make him look

00:49:55.920 like a shooter so after these cases all collapsed i decided to use modern empirical methods which i had

00:50:02.540 access to at that time's data the more advanced spss programs you know data crunching computers as i

00:50:08.320 was a grad student at a good university and see how frequent this stuff was and as i graduated and i

00:50:14.480 went into academia i compiled a full list of these cases i have 516 cases of hate crime hoax and i put

00:50:20.500 the book together and that recently was published on february 26th with regnery a large conservative

00:50:25.600 publisher and i mean you asked about methodology a lot of it's simply looking uh really using google

00:50:32.380 scholar um being advanced j store any of these resources to look for you know hate crime 2016 2017

00:50:41.420 pick up the cases that you see and then see how many of them survive to the end so i defined a fake

00:50:48.900 hate crime as a case where there's a serious report um either mass media coverage or police report about

00:50:55.400 93 percent of the time it was both that turns out to have either never occurred or to have been staged by

00:51:01.680 a quote-unquote victim or to have been committed by people very very differently from those

00:51:06.420 originally alleged to have committed it and they're not infrequent um kind of kind of last point here

00:51:13.000 but i will say i'm not the only person ever to research this it just until this book had been almost

00:51:18.140 an underground thing so you had www.fakehatecrimes.org that's a great resource but that's just an internet

00:51:25.220 site hosted by a couple of independent researchers you have the fake hate map but that as i recall is

00:51:31.280 on reddit or it's taken off reddit now it has its own site but again that's not affiliated with the

00:51:35.400 university but i looked through those resources and i compared them to my list and i found that in most

00:51:39.960 of the cases on those lists were also real they were hoaxes that had occurred they just hadn't been

00:51:44.620 widely documented so using all those tools basically in a sentence i put the book together

00:51:48.640 i sold it and the response to it has been good okay so what how how how common are these how what

00:51:55.700 is the percentage of hate crimes that are hoaxes it's actually a bit i'm going to give an estimate

00:52:01.800 but it's actually a bit difficult to estimate that um so over most of my cases are concentrated in a

00:52:08.220 period of about five years i did a lot of research in 2017 as i started i started in grad school around

00:52:13.180 2012 so you've got 516 cases concentrated very heavily between 2012 and 2017 what an opponent

00:52:20.320 would say someone who argues that there are a lot of hate crimes is well there are 7 000 hate crimes

00:52:26.080 reported every year so that's still only five percent or whatever it might be of the cases

00:52:30.680 there there are two issues with that first of all only about one in ten hate crime cases is nationally

00:52:37.160 reported to the extent where a researcher like myself could ethically see a story where it begins

00:52:42.460 and a story where it ends and put it in the data set so i'm really looking at about 700 cases a year

00:52:47.980 not 7 000 that would even be available to me where you've had that kind of media coverage

00:52:52.480 uh so i mean first of all the most baseline estimate would be okay 516 out of you know

00:52:57.760 seven times five out of 3500 um but that brings in some other questions though uh when you look at

00:53:04.860 hate crime reports in the case of most crimes if you're talking about murder it's hard to ignore a

00:53:09.600 corpse if you're talking about burglary where there's someone in your house the number of

00:53:13.960 reports is pretty much equivalent to the number of crimes uh with hate crimes that doesn't really

00:53:20.140 seem to be true so there's 7 000 reports in a typical year but the rate of conviction in hate

00:53:27.620 crime cases seems to be between five and ten percent so in california in the most recent year on record

00:53:35.000 which is 2016 you had 931 reported hate crimes most on college campuses which i think is interesting

00:53:40.600 but of those only 220 were shot along by the police to the process the prosecution which is a very basic

00:53:48.340 standard that means we have a suspect and we believe this wasn't a hoax we have any kind of

00:53:52.680 suspect and this probably happened of those only 51 led to a conviction and that includes all plea bargains

00:53:58.420 so i guess my numbers would be over five years you're looking at 3500 nationally reported cases

00:54:03.660 i've got say because they're not all in this period 450 hoaxes that's a rate of say 15 but the real

00:54:10.540 comparison to me would be between hoaxes and convictions so i mean if those 3500 cases produce

00:54:17.580 350 convictions the final number would be you have 350 convictions and 450 hoaxes so there's a very high

00:54:26.960 rate of hoaxing in this field i don't think anyone the numbers there are a little estimated but pretty

00:54:32.740 much on point like i don't think anyone could dispute there are a large number of these so i'm

00:54:36.620 going to take a one minute break and then i'm going to come back and i want to talk to you is there any

00:54:39.820 is there any tell that happens in these fake hoaxes uh do they have do they have anything in in common

00:54:48.720 uh but also what i'm going to bring it back to chicago and i'll start here the jesse smollett case

00:54:55.880 with him being um he says vindicated and with half the country i don't even think half the country

00:55:04.600 with 20 of the country they'll look at it as vindication and the other will not what are the

00:55:10.700 ramifications of that uh and what does that tell somebody else who is prone to be a uh hate crime

00:55:18.900 uh hoaxer we'll we'll continue the conversation here in just a second uh this is uh dr will reilly

00:55:25.620 uh he has written a great book called hate crime hoax 23andme is our sponsor this half hour um 23andme

00:55:35.200 is just amazing technology i mean i remember when they said we're not sure we'll ever get to be able

00:55:40.600 to you know dissect the entire genetic code jeez are you kidding me genes say everything or at least

00:55:50.020 a lot about your health um you know if you're more likely to have um disease if you're more likely to be

00:55:58.420 needing insulin at some point in your life all of these things are passed along to us many of them

00:56:06.320 even how we exercise or our muscle mass or or who we are physically and if we know all of these

00:56:13.760 things we can take better care of ourself you also have the other advantage of knowing your ancestry and

00:56:20.220 it's it's truly amazing it's really really amazing i would have never guessed that i had any native

00:56:26.340 american in me at all but someplace in my past i do i'm i'm anxious to find out where that

00:56:34.100 where where what happened how did that happen what which relative when i'd love to know that story

00:56:40.880 23andme.com slash beck 23andme.com slash beck go there now join me on this quest for better living

00:56:49.380 better health and connecting with your past it's 2323andme.com slash beck we break for 10 seconds station id

00:57:04.100 i think what jesse smollett uh doctor everybody is you know everybody's looking at this and i don't

00:57:22.100 want to judge but it looks pretty bad um for jesse smollett uh i mean it really looks pretty open and

00:57:28.960 shut it i don't know what happened in chicago but here's what i'm concerned about it's not as much

00:57:35.160 with jesse or jesse it's much more uh to me about what does this say about justice in our country um

00:57:45.340 you know we don't want to do anything that makes people feel like you can get away with it or

00:57:53.140 or somebody else can get away with it because of their wealth or their status or their color

00:57:58.440 yeah i mean i think at the most basic economic level if you encourage bad behavior you get more

00:58:05.960 of it is it do you think about do you think what's happening in chicago is encouraging it

00:58:10.660 i do to be fair um to put it politely i think that the decision to drop the smollett charges was a very

00:58:18.120 questionable legal decision so i mean in this case there was literally a video of the

00:58:22.820 two nigerian brothers involved in the case that the osandario brothers buying red hats and ski

00:58:28.860 masks and pieces of knotted rope a few days before the assault and this isn't me talking as a political

00:58:34.600 commentator i mean you can literally find that by googling video shows brothers linked to smollett

00:58:39.400 attack buying all items that's from national cbs it's still live on youtube um the brothers themselves

00:58:47.740 say that jesse smollett paid them to commit the attack they have a 3500 signed check from jesse

00:58:55.100 smollett for something like physical development i mean it's not my my initial impression looking at

00:59:02.240 this was this is the strongest criminal case i've seen since oj simpson which became very ironic the

00:59:08.140 next day but i mean the prosecution in this case it's worth noting they've stated bluntly that

00:59:13.720 whatever he might say that's their quote they did not acquit jesse smollett uh smollett still had to

00:59:19.540 pay at least ten thousand dollars in bond he forfeited all of the money that he had with the state

00:59:24.020 um he was given credit for some pretty substantial community service in the past he might have to do

00:59:29.440 more the technique used to terminate the case was what's called a no lay proseki that's not a not

00:59:35.880 guilty it's not any kind of acquittal it's a technical dismissal that's often used with guilty

00:59:40.340 defendants and i mean you literally saw this incredible scene where the deputy prosecutor

00:59:45.520 who was probably told to drop these charges by his boss sort of disgustedly said no we still think

00:59:50.920 he's guilty and then across town eddie johnson good cop uh stood up and said chicago's police

00:59:56.760 superintendent this is a travesty of justice rahm emmanuel who's the leftist democratic mayor of the

01:00:02.360 city said this is one of the most ridiculous decisions he's ever seen so there's no chance that

01:00:07.500 jesse smollett did not do this the real question is why was the decision made to drop all charges

01:00:13.660 against a guilty man essentially it's interesting uh doctor when we went back and the story initially

01:00:19.160 happened we were we thought to ourselves this seems to happen a lot particularly with trump supporters in

01:00:23.960 which they're accused of doing these sort of hate crimes and then we would find out later that

01:00:27.800 they're hoaxes and so we went back and pulled a bunch of these stories and you know we we saw that

01:00:34.000 pattern very clearly however one pattern i didn't really expect to see was how many of the people

01:00:39.740 who were caught in a hoax wound up having little to no punishment for perpetrating the hoax is that

01:00:47.520 common because part of me thinks that this smollett story and the way they've treated it isn't quite as

01:00:53.060 uh uncommon as we may have thought well i mean i mentioned uh just in kind of the intro or i did the

01:01:00.600 brief monologue i mean i mentioned about 12 of these cases so now the only thing that is notable

01:01:04.980 about jesse smollett is that he happened to be a very famous man he was the second lead on empire

01:01:10.300 and he described something so cinematic that this became a national or international story

01:01:15.140 but in every other respect normal middle class taxpayer either leftist or nowadays sometimes alt-right

01:01:21.560 claims that a ridiculous thing happened garners local or even regional media attention

01:01:26.840 and then is exposed as a hoaxer and nothing happens that is the pattern for uh hate crime

01:01:32.120 hoaxes in fact very rarely are people punished in these cases uh generally when someone is punished

01:01:38.060 what i saw i believe 74 percent of the time was that they received this is in case there was any

01:01:43.380 punishment at all they receive a single misdemeanor charge of something like false report

01:01:48.080 um disorderly conduct that's how that would generally be treated very in the you see the same thing in

01:01:54.480 many fake uh false sexual assault uh cases very rarely is someone charged with the equivalent of

01:01:59.100 what they claimed happened um in jesse smollett's case he was but the charges were almost immediately

01:02:04.840 dismissed and as you said i mean the line in the law is that justice has to be blind but also has to

01:02:10.560 carry a sword so be fair but also be ruthless enough to keep the public peace and when you do see

01:02:17.000 something like the dismissal of 16 felony counts you have to question whether that's happened but it's not

01:02:21.840 uncommon no because it's interesting we have this situation where we the the the glory of being a

01:02:27.880 victim in our society today seems to be so high the incentive to to become a victim is now something in

01:02:33.380 the american culture for whatever reason and yet we don't disincentivize people from faking it because

01:02:38.640 we never we never seem to to punish that behavior i mean that that that is that's a weird structure

01:02:44.340 for incentives and i think it's it's creating a lot of this isn't it yes well i think the two

01:02:49.360 phenomena tie together so i mean first of all you're absolutely right that american culture

01:02:53.160 glorifies victimhood which is odd really when you look opposite of when you look yeah well when you

01:02:59.580 look at a hero story you're not supposed to cheer for the dragon but you're also not supposed to

01:03:03.340 cheer for the prince or princess tied to the rock you're supposed to cheer for the hero being a victim

01:03:07.620 is a temporary situation that you fight your hardest to escape i was poor as a young man now i'm not

01:03:12.800 and that's the traditional understanding of victimhood i do think that because of this idea of

01:03:18.420 intersectionality and now we're almost getting into philosophy but intersectionality on the

01:03:22.180 activist left is the more oppressed you are the more right you have to talk the more value your

01:03:27.740 lived experience has ben shapiro the conservative commentator has done some good monologues about

01:03:32.360 this because of that idea i do think that victimhood itself has gained kind of a premium um

01:03:39.460 in terms of not punishing people for faking victimhood i think that ties to the idea that victimhood is

01:03:45.400 valuable because so many hate hoaxers do happen to be on the political left because many happen

01:03:50.580 to be people of color the question that's often asked is do we want to prosecute do we want a

01:03:55.180 bunch of big upper middle class white and black guys in suits and police uniforms shouting at this

01:04:00.540 person that's in some victim group that claimed they were abused that's now going to say they have

01:04:05.500 a drug problem that's now going to say they were mentally ill that's going to drag the trial out as

01:04:10.140 painfully as possible do we want to be in that position so very often what you see is a bunch of

01:04:14.260 big cops just disgustedly giving up this is literally eddie johnson we start crumpling his hat

01:04:19.060 just giving up and saying okay and that is a problem that is a real problem dr wilfred

01:04:24.940 riley author of hate crime hoax thanks for being on back in a minute you're listening to glenn

01:04:32.640 back okay several years ago i started talking about what was coming in the economy and it turned out

01:04:38.240 to be fairly right i talked about a collapse in the economy if we wouldn't have had a bailout it would

01:04:44.860 have been exactly as i described uh i am telling you uh now i believe that uh the worst of it is on the

01:04:54.220 horizon yet because we didn't fix anything we made things even worse you're starting to see some real

01:05:01.140 problems uh starting in uh the economy in in uh you know a whole bunch of uh product that is just

01:05:10.700 stacking up in warehouses now please please consider if gold or silver is right for you

01:05:17.420 gold or silver they now have the at gold line the legal tender bar now this is something that's been

01:05:22.220 out for years but they've just they this is the new uh 2019 version of it from the canadian mint it is

01:05:28.440 10 individual uh one tenth of an ounce pure bullion and it is in case you ever need to barter but it

01:05:37.700 is an easy almost like a chiclet's case where you can uh that you can use them designed to carry in

01:05:43.820 your wallet or your purse find out if it's right for you goldline.com 866 goldline yummy gold chiclets

01:05:50.920 can't wait uh go to glennbeck.com and see the movie unplanned with glenn this weekend in utah the

01:05:56.760 details are all at glennbeck.com

01:05:58.360 so part of my job in this in this time when everybody seems to be running for something

01:06:13.680 all the time and so you don't know what people really mean until they do it and you can't really

01:06:19.260 trust anybody what anybody says in a run-up to an election because they'll run any direction that

01:06:25.260 they want look at the democratic party running so far left they will eventually when they coalesce

01:06:32.400 around somebody then they will run to the right uh who do you believe when you can't believe the media

01:06:39.420 and you don't really know what the hell is going on what what is really happening and when it comes to

01:06:47.960 uh health care this is costing us so much money as individuals businesses are struggling people are

01:06:56.840 struggling there is real pain and our our health care system is so screwed up now that it's far worse

01:07:04.800 than it's ever been and we're i think the people in washington are going to kill it now there's a story

01:07:13.640 that came out earlier that showed that donald trump said hey we've got to be the party of health care

01:07:18.960 i don't even know what that means we should be the party of the free market that's the way to fix it

01:07:25.940 really open up the free market but i don't think anybody's really talking about that and there is a court case

01:07:33.340 that i'm not sure if if people are just hyping this because they think it'll get votes or if it's real

01:07:41.920 but texas has decided to sue and say you know the individual mandate you said the court said it was

01:07:51.260 not a fee it was a tax and because it was a tax it's constitutional the obama administration said and

01:07:59.920 by the way if you get rid of the mandate then you get rid of the entire health care system because it

01:08:05.660 doesn't work and it the whole thing collapses so texas is saying well there is no tax because it's

01:08:12.700 zero so there is no mandate we should abolish all of it california of course is coming out blah blah

01:08:20.060 blah donald trump has said uh that he is not going to go to court and defend obamacare is this a big

01:08:28.420 deal what does it all mean the other part of my job is to try to figure it out and and bring in the

01:08:34.240 people who actually follow this for a living and know it uh philip klein is an expert on this he's

01:08:39.620 executive editor at the washington examiner he's also an author of overcoming obamacare um what is

01:08:47.720 really happening philip well there are a few things happening i think it's pretty clear that that what

01:08:55.320 happened is that republicans through four election cycles promised that they were going to repeal and

01:09:01.440 replace obamacare and when they had a chance to do it they couldn't uh at the time i said this was the

01:09:08.120 biggest broken promise in american history because never before had you had a promise that uh office

01:09:14.900 holders in one party at every level of government state local federal said we're going to repeal this

01:09:21.320 thing and then they had a chance and they didn't do it and i now that uh president trump is in re-election

01:09:28.240 mode he recognizes that um this is a big problem that he didn't deliver on his promise to repeal and

01:09:36.640 replace and so uh because democrats control the house there's not much you can do so now uh he's

01:09:45.800 looking to the courts i think that this uh particular case and i've written a lot about it

01:09:52.700 um i was a big proponent of the challenge to obamacare in 2012 and i was outraged by um uh chief

01:10:01.720 justice roberts's decision um but in this case i think the argument is much weaker and i don't think

01:10:11.940 that it really has a chance at the supreme court because of the fact that they need um john roberts

01:10:19.420 to uh sign on to it and if he refused to uh overturn obamacare when the mandate had a penalty

01:10:30.240 attached and it was more it had more coercive power and even he found a way to rule that that's

01:10:37.600 constitutional now that the tax is zero dollars uh it's very doubtful that he's gonna somehow

01:10:45.160 revisit that and say he wants to to um uh overturn it particularly because in 2012 when the supreme

01:10:54.240 court originally heard the case nobody had benefited from obamacare yet there was you know the exchange

01:11:00.620 didn't open until 2014 so at that point they could have struck down obamacare and it wouldn't

01:11:07.420 have harmed anyone whereas now if the supreme court were going to strike it down then millions of

01:11:14.900 people who receive benefits would lose those benefits now you and i have a different view of

01:11:21.080 what government's power should be but the reality is that that's going to weigh on john roberts he

01:11:27.200 found a way to enable obamacare the first time he's not going to destroy it now that millions of people

01:11:32.960 depend on it uh for a case that is has a weaker legal argument what do you think philip about the

01:11:39.420 way he handled this there's a story now that's come out um that john roberts i mean he contorted

01:11:45.980 himself into a pretzel um and changed his mind all the things that we had heard rumor of now been

01:11:52.920 verified that he was looking at the image of the court and not the actual law he just wanted to save

01:12:02.840 the and protect the image of the court that that that to me is impeachable as a supreme court uh

01:12:10.980 justice uh you know go ahead i mean it was yeah there's this new book out um and i wrote uh wrote

01:12:19.820 something on it because it's a biography of john roberts and his time on the supreme court and there's

01:12:26.400 a chapter on his deliberations in obamacare and what was pretty revealing to me is that if you read

01:12:33.340 the book if you trust this account then effectively he treated the uh supreme court like a legislative body

01:12:44.420 um and there are many points in the book where it says he was conflicted between his head and his heart

01:12:50.260 what his head said you know the law said versus the idea of overturning a law that was meant to

01:12:58.220 address the health insurance crisis and when they first voted on the the law the it according to

01:13:05.220 the book roberts voted to overturn the individual mandate and actually uphold the medicaid expansion

01:13:13.200 decision and the actual decision ended up being the opposite because of all the horse trading that

01:13:20.200 went on uh the other conservatives on the the bench thought that all of obamacare had to go with the

01:13:27.180 mandate when uh he was on roberts was uncomfortable with that so he went to the liberals and said okay

01:13:35.320 if i say that it's okay as a tax will you sign on to the overturning the medicaid portion

01:13:42.360 so effectively the way it seems as though he decided that he wanted to overturn part of obamacare

01:13:50.940 but substantially keep it intact and then he reversed engineered a legal argument to get to that point

01:13:58.760 and negotiated with the various justices to get agreement on that as opposed to just narrowly being

01:14:06.040 dictated by what is the law say and what is this allowable under the constitution and i think

01:14:12.160 that's very worrisome when you when you look at the future and and and um you know the the reason

01:14:20.180 why i think my personal opinion the gop didn't get rid of obamacare is because they didn't have a

01:14:26.720 replacement and they are looking at repeal and replace i don't want it replaced i want the free market

01:14:32.800 opened up uh i i want the laws that have have made this uh a very profitable game for for uh some people

01:14:42.840 uh to go away let me buy insurance across state lines etc etc just open up the free market donald trump

01:14:51.180 when he says we have to be the party of health care what do you think that means and what do the

01:14:57.460 people is there anybody that is looking at the free market is that chance of ever coming back in your

01:15:03.000 opinion i think it's very unlikely look in in 2015 i saw all of this coming and i wrote my book

01:15:11.840 overcoming obamacare and what that did is it said right now the rights divided on obamacare there's

01:15:18.400 plenty of plans out there contrary to the myth that republicans don't have a plan the in actuality

01:15:24.800 there were a lot of plans there were too many nobody could agree on one single approach so i

01:15:30.180 said okay here are the three basic approaches ranging from reforming uh obamacare to make it

01:15:38.160 less restrictive to what you're saying which i said let's restart and move in a purely female market 1.00

01:15:45.360 direction and completely scrap it right and i said here are basically the three different paths you can

01:15:51.400 choose and republicans have to decide on this and fight this out among themselves now so that when

01:15:59.540 they have a position when they're in a position to do something they could hit the ground running

01:16:03.780 obviously they didn't take my advice and all of the fights uh that i predicted um several years in

01:16:12.400 advance played out and nothing was agreed on and so i think it's a real problem and it continues to be

01:16:20.360 the problem because say what you want about the democrats they know what they want to do they want

01:16:25.000 to take over everyone's health care they want the private insurers out of it they want one single

01:16:30.920 government insurer and they want that insurer to dictate prices to doctors and hospitals and everyone

01:16:37.320 to be on the same plan that we know what they want and they're very clear about it and the only argument

01:16:43.000 on the left is how quickly they can get there on the right there's there is this sort of disagreement

01:16:50.280 because you have people that are trying to be democratic light and they're trying to say well

01:16:55.240 let's expand medicaid a little less let's you know provide a little fewer subsidies and the argument i made

01:17:02.840 during the whole repeal debate is look the bill that you're writing that's trying to make all these

01:17:08.760 accommodations to the left is is a twenty percent support it's getting attacked by the left and

01:17:16.360 you know the media so why not go to an actual free market plan that's going to reduce people's premiums

01:17:23.400 if you said that we're going to have a plan that allows people to purchase the type of health insurance

01:17:28.600 that they want it would be a totally you know we'd have a totally different system and that's the

01:17:34.600 problem is that we have a system in which people think either the government or their employer are

01:17:40.520 picking everything up so the normal free market mechanisms that work in every other part of the

01:17:47.080 free market um you know aren't applicable to health care for that reason and the you know i make the example

01:17:56.360 my book like look at the you know look at an iphone right in in you know 20 years ago there was this famous meme

01:18:05.480 on the internet a few years back where it showed a radio shack ad from the 1990s and it had

01:18:12.120 a video camera and a answering machine and a telephone and an alarm clock and all of these things that you could now

01:18:21.480 carry around in your pocket because there is competition um for people to make to innovate

01:18:29.880 and to um find a way to bring down prices and increase quality over time and you know the power

01:18:39.000 of what i carry around in my pocket is drastically different from you know what existed within my own

01:18:47.000 lifetime and there's no reason that that type of innovation can't happen in health care beyond the

01:18:51.960 fact that we have a bit of them in which everything is rigged from the top down and where government

01:18:58.600 sets all the rules or everything has to be rigged through the employer people don't have any choice

01:19:04.920 over what type of insurance they have and you know if republicans don't rally around the plan i could

01:19:12.280 tell you exactly what's gonna happen you're gonna have democrats take over if not in 2020

01:19:16.840 2021 then in 2025 someday and they're going to want to go in the direction of single-payer they

01:19:22.920 may not get there overnight but they'll try to you know they'll expand obamacare they'll end

01:19:29.480 with you know a government plan to obamacare and rig the game so that millions and millions of

01:19:34.920 people shift over to that that's what the argument is on the left right now philip klein executive

01:19:40.200 editor of washington examiner also the author of overcoming obamacare thanks so thanks so much for

01:19:45.000 talking to me um i i want to play something because what he just said is in 2021 or 2025 they will take

01:19:51.240 over and the way he said it reminded me of the trojan horse audio now this is this is such important

01:19:59.640 audio this is what we played at fox and it was inside uh the left who was who was this uh stew do you

01:20:07.880 remember uh jacob something from the tides foundation yeah and he was talking to a group

01:20:15.960 of leftists and and policy makers and he was talking about obamacare and how we are going to

01:20:21.960 do obamacare but don't worry about obamacare come together now where are the secret meetings of us saying

01:20:28.520 okay we're gonna do this but don't worry it's a trojan horse to get us back to a free market

01:20:34.120 are there any anybody that actually believes in that anymore listen to what they said we played

01:20:39.880 this we talked about it almost every night for almost a year and it was dismissed listen to it

01:20:47.240 i someone once said to me this is a trojan horse for a single payer and i said well it's not a trojan

01:20:51.400 horse right it's just right there i'm telling you we're gonna get there over time slowly but we'll

01:20:58.200 move away from reliance on employment-based health insurance as we should but we'll do it in a way that

01:21:03.160 we're not going to to frighten people into thinking they're going to lose their private

01:21:06.680 insurance we're going to give them a choice of public and private insurance when they're in the

01:21:10.360 pool and we're going to let them keep their private employment-based insurance if their employer

01:25:45.400 think what about sticking needles into me would that be a good way to avoid pain i know a lot of

01:25:49.800 people are on that bandwagon no but i want to be like getting a shot right like yeah getting a shot

01:25:54.680 that's a great way to avoid pain yeah um however you might think well what if that needle is lubricated

01:26:00.200 that might not work well that's why they have dry needling if you could just get that needle to be

01:26:06.600 dry when they stick it into you that is the new way to avoid pain well it is dry isn't it i mean i

01:26:13.960 don't know what they're coating it with luckily nothing nice and dry nice dry needles the therapy

01:26:19.320 has small needles injected into the areas of the muscle and will uh supposedly relieve your pain i don't

01:26:23.960 know if that's a whole bunch of needles just right into your right into your body yeah perfect yep 0.99

01:26:27.960 you can try that's like if you have a bad headache i tell my wife all the time i'll punch you in the 0.94

01:26:31.160 stomach and you you won't think about your head anymore how about that no it doesn't work doesn't 0.94

01:27:13.320 charity i wanna i'll throw it over throw it over to you on there yes there it is look at that oh my

01:27:20.120 gosh now this should not piss you off if you lived in my in my town this would not piss you off

01:27:29.320 that is uh it's a nice coin it's a nice coin challenge challenge coin and i guess uh it it comes

01:27:35.880 from the my fire station in your town yes uh wow this is really nice why it's nicer than almost any it's

01:27:46.600 nicer than the challenge coin i have received from presidents it is really nice it's heavy yes

01:27:53.640 beautiful beautiful all carved with the new firehouse on it yeah they have a whole yeah an

01:27:58.440 actual engraving of it and it looks like a very large firehouse well it is it is it's very good

01:28:03.800 throw it back over here because this is this is just my this is my reward for being charitable

01:28:08.280 and every family got one now well they didn't just come in the mail we got a an invitation of

01:28:15.560 very slick full color nicer than some wedding invitations i've ever received everybody in my

01:28:24.280 town got one now remember when you were doing wedding invitations and you were thinking oh my gosh

01:28:30.600 this price of these things is gonna kill me and you were like i can't send out any more

01:28:34.760 invitations because we can't afford just the invitations let alone the food right my town

01:28:41.240 everyone in my town got one and it was for the grand opening of a brand new firehouse now what

01:28:50.280 why would you want to be invited to the opening of a firehouse well you haven't seen a firehouse

01:28:54.280 till you've seen this one this firehouse this firehouse if it cost 10 million it cost a dime

01:29:03.320 okay uh and uh i've gone to the firehouse now i want to make it very clear i have nothing wrong

01:29:09.720 with the firefighters i want the firefighters to that were currently they've been in this like this

01:29:14.120 metal shack okay they've been in there ever since i've lived there i i drive by it and i'm like

01:29:19.800 come on guys we can treat our firemen a little better than this can't we but they've gone from a

01:29:24.440 metal shack to i am not making this up a a firehouse nicer than my house or anyone i know in the

01:29:35.640 neighborhood okay and i live in a nice neighborhood stew you've been to my house yes but did we did did

01:29:43.080 did the the builder chintz on anything in our house no it's very nice very nice very nice very nice

01:29:49.560 now this fireplace or this firehouse uh has uh it's very nice it has a movie theater in it

01:29:59.400 with the automatic blinds that come down and and well you're really manual blinds no you wouldn't

01:30:05.880 want that no beautiful leather seats now this is high quality leather these are beautiful seats

01:30:11.400 and the seats where the head rest is all embroidered with the uh fire seal the fire you know the badge

01:30:21.880 uh on every single seat i don't have a movie theater in my house i don't have those kinds of seats in my

01:30:31.480 house and if i did have those kinds of seats i don't think i could afford to have them embroidered

01:30:37.960 every single one with the logo of the firehouse yeah uh it has this beautiful wolf stove in it and

01:30:49.640 again i don't i mean you want an industrial stove but it has top of the line everything now here's

01:30:56.120 here's my problem this this firehouse literally is nicer than my home much nicer than my home

01:31:07.960 okay if anybody saw my home up for sale it's not cheap and b it's nice this is far nicer are you

01:31:18.120 looking at pictures on the internet yes i'm doing some research yeah far nicer than my home it has a

01:31:24.200 bistro in it i'm a bistro a bistro not a vending machine no it has a bistro in it because we you know

01:31:31.240 the that it's nice to have a vending machine if you're working there for a long time this has a

01:31:35.240 a bistro soda machine maybe yeah it has a full kitchen off to the side but it also has a bistro

01:31:41.800 where you could come in and have coffee and pastries and maybe a little sandwich okay you know uh it has

01:31:48.760 a beautiful patio with a fireplace and outdoor televisions and it's just great nobody's getting

01:31:55.080 into the firehouse i mean because you might want to rob oh i don't know anything in this firehouse so

01:32:01.160 you can only get in with biometric prints so every door is a fingerprint lock

01:32:10.040 because someone might break into the fireplace i don't know i don't know but every lock is a

01:32:15.000 fingerprint lock okay this thing is the doors of this firehouse the door when i when i rebuilt our

01:32:23.400 our uh house up in idaho these people trying to gouge us they were like well these doors are the best

01:32:29.480 doors and the best blah blah blah and i'm like well how much are they they're like oh they're fifteen

01:32:33.640 hundred dollars a door and i'm like i can get them for a hundred bucks let's go let me go to a

01:32:39.000 reclamation site i'm gonna get a bunch of old doors well they won't match well neither do all my kids

01:32:45.480 so what the hell hell these doors just the doors yeah of the firehouse they have these big beautiful

01:32:54.520 uh red doors and don't get me wrong it's beautiful and don't get me wrong i'm glad the firemen do not

01:33:00.360 have to do this disclaimer set with us let me tell you because this is one of those things they do they

01:33:04.600 build these taj mahal schools and if you oppose as pat as there's one pat always references that has

01:33:10.600 two separate arboretums inside of it yes and it's like if you say well is one arboretum enough you hate

01:33:18.520 children yes is is uh you know the nicest doors you've ever seen in the world uh appropriate for

01:33:24.760 a firehouse you hate fire firemen yeah and i know i love firemen they're heroes they're heroes i don't 0.52

01:33:30.600 want them in that metal piece of crap but here's my problem i have less problem with the actual firehouse 0.85

01:33:40.040 than i do with the city here here's what happened they had an open house where they sent us invitations 0.90

01:33:46.440 and i couldn't make it but my son-in-law went to claim my coin uh and he went on a tour uh and

01:33:56.920 this is what was actually said by the person giving the tour no expense was spared here

01:34:06.120 no expense was spared here first of all i know that i walked around while you were building it i

01:34:12.200 walked around and looked through the dusty windows and went i want to live here i'm thinking about

01:34:17.800 becoming a fireman so i can live there three days a week i'll live in a cardboard box for four if i can

01:34:25.960 live there three days a week it's unbelievable there's no bunk beds everybody has their own like

01:34:32.920 suite with an with their own bathroom in it there's an outdoor atrium yes that seems pretty nice yes

01:34:40.600 but i will say now now look when they started planning it yes it was 15 800 square feet yes and

01:34:48.360 you might think to yourself that's not big enough for a fireplace for a fire station i thought we had

01:34:54.120 four fire engines right well no uh it's now it's it was upgraded to 18 000 square feet 18 000 square

01:35:00.920 before it was done uh-huh and uh you know you do have six fire engines six oh we have six however

01:35:08.840 three are reserve so technically really using three right at any given time and that's the thing i

01:35:15.240 think is is is odd this is not chicago we're talking about here with a fireplace no this is a very small

01:35:21.240 town right and so you're at you're now at 3 000 square feet per fire engine right which is right

01:35:28.600 that's a big fire engine high yeah yeah so now remember this is the town that would not

01:35:35.080 would not even listen to my argument when we went to the tax assessor and they said well you have you

01:35:44.600 have almost four acres of property and your neighbors all have one acre of property and their home is on

01:35:51.880 one acre so you could subdivide which i can't because my house is not high it's long you could subdivide and

01:36:00.440 you could have four houses so we're gonna charge you four times as much but you don't have the four

01:36:06.680 but i don't have the four houses i have one house this is how you pay for a really nice fire how you

01:36:12.520 pay for this fire station and i'm so i'm i'm i'm just i'm outraged that quote no expense was spared

01:36:21.480 and you know we could come and we we were did anyone say thank you that was my question to my son-in-law

01:36:29.160 did anyone from the town when they were giving these speeches say thank you for allowing us to

01:36:37.720 live off of your hard work in a style that you don't even live in thank you for that so you hate

01:36:46.920 firemen wow that's an amazing no i hate this this city is driving me out of my mind because and and you 0.98

01:36:54.040 know what my neighbors i want to go door to door and say what the hell is wrong with you you were 0.80

01:36:59.000 walking around taking those tours and you didn't realize that that was your money no and surely they

01:37:05.000 voted for it at some of course they did of course they did of course they did we need a new firehouse

01:37:10.440 i'm for a new firehouse they were living in a literal metal shack they had their firehouse it 0.80

01:37:18.760 it was a metal barn now there's nothing wrong with metal barns we can do a little better than that

01:37:25.480 and it's very hot in texas and the barn looked like it was made in 1965 but my god they don't have to

01:37:33.720 live in a house nicer than any house of anyone i know they are building a house uh you know about

01:37:42.840 three blocks away and somebody's building it on spec it's 15 000 square feet it's gonna be over

01:37:52.920 15 000 square feet it's it's a 10 million dollar spec house it's insanity wow it's insanity

01:38:00.520 the firehouse is nicer and bigger than that what the hell and by the way both true uh because it was

01:38:11.240 when it was only 15 800 square feet the estimate of the cost was 8.9 million now of course they built

01:38:18.520 an extra home i don't want to on top of the 15 800 square feet so you know it's a lot higher than

01:38:24.280 that at the point how much it costs i have also did not include the cost of the land oh my gosh which

01:38:29.480 was donated which was another two million dollars

01:38:34.200 so you're at about 11 million dollars of the old size and that was an initial estimate

01:38:40.360 my guess is what 15 now this is the town i know it's over 10 million it's got to be over 10 million

01:38:46.040 it is the nicest everyone who has driven by it because i drive by people will come to you know

01:38:52.760 visitors i'm gonna say you gotta drive by this tell me what you think this building is and they're like

01:38:57.320 good lord look at that it's everyone has said nicest firehouse they've ever seen in their lifetime

01:39:05.320 i've never seen anything like it you know how you watch movies and people are living in these great

01:39:11.160 houses and you're like look at that dream house this firehouse is nicer i'd have my kids wedding at

01:39:19.800 that firehouse dear god i'm gonna do that i'm gonna do i demand i don't even i'm gonna marry off my kids 0.98

01:39:27.480 young just to piss them off i not the kids the firehouse i'm gonna have my wedding there my wife 0.98

01:39:33.880 and i are gonna be remarried at that damn firehouse i'm getting some money's worth out of that thing 1.00

01:39:39.800 oh my gosh it just and nobody looks at it they're all like oh this is great this is so great for our 0.98

01:39:45.480 town oh so great for our town so it's your money it's your well it's a lot of pat because this is

01:39:53.480 the road that pat is always stopped on yeah this is the this is actually them spending the pat gray

01:39:57.960 dividend of all the speed this is literally this my town gives out more speeding tickets than

01:40:03.640 anyone else any other town in all of texas if you haven't looked at a map lately some big towns in

01:40:10.920 texas and it's a big state okay i have a little town in a very big state we give out more speeding

01:40:19.960 tickets than anyone else i know i'm probably gonna get one on the way home tonight oh i'm sure now

01:40:25.720 the fireman will be like you know citizens arrest and again i have no problem our police department

01:40:33.080 is great our fire department is great i i put our i put our police our alarm system i don't know

01:40:40.040 maybe i should call the firehouse and see if i can get one of their alarm systems that they put in

01:40:43.880 the firehouse i put in a great alarm system for for the for uh fire and stuff it's like racks of 0.93

01:40:51.320 equipment damn things going off every time we leave town damn things going off and i hear oh the police 0.72

01:40:57.320 are at the house oh so i respect the police i honor the police i honor the fire department but in all 0.99

01:41:06.280 of in everything that is good and sacred can we stop spending other people's money

01:41:16.760 oh you're hitting that's amazing i have the same i have 10 of these same stories i'm more mad at my

01:41:22.360 neighbors i'm more mad at my neighbors we've got to come back to that all right uh back in just a

01:41:26.360 second first let me tell you about uh uh norton you need you need a vpn that's a virtual private

01:41:33.000 network you may not you may not know about it now but i'm telling you in the next two years

01:41:38.920 you're going to know about this and you're going to say geez i wish i would have had that before they

01:41:43.080 are collecting information on you right now and i know nobody has anything to hide etc etc but

01:41:48.680 everything every keystroke even the stuff you delete is logged and saved they can track your every move

01:41:58.040 not not for some nefarious reason just because you're adding to the global collective so they

01:42:04.440 can have 100 certainty on what you're going to do next no thank you that's why i don't have nest in my

01:42:12.440 home yeah i know it's convenient but i you know i live my whole life with just turning up the temperature

01:42:17.080 and turning the temperature down myself anyway vpn it's a secure vpn so no one can track you the only

01:42:26.200 people i would trust with this is norton security i want you to go to norton.com vpn norton.com

01:42:33.640 vpn price starts at 333 a month with the annual subscription you download the app you put in the

01:42:40.200 passcode once and you're on a virtual private network nobody is tracking you norton.com vpn

01:42:48.840 10 seconds station id let me give you my version of this same story in my town they're building a

01:43:06.600 taj mahal uh apparently uh which is it's built as a recreation center okay a beautiful new recreation

01:43:17.560 center that costs millions and millions and millions of dollars seemingly all of that i think i paid

01:43:23.800 for uh i look at my tax bill and so and this is an amazing thing because it's the neighbors that

01:43:30.920 really frustrate me more than anything else they build this now first of all there is a facility

01:43:35.400 nearby which is incredibly similar to this new recreational facility they have it's a gym it's a

01:43:40.920 pool it's got water slides it's got literally you know people don't have any idea texas has gone

01:43:47.000 insane their rec centers have water slides yeah they're amazing it's incredible and they're great

01:43:53.880 they are now if you happen to be the private businessman who invested millions of their own

01:44:02.040 dollars to launch a very similar product several years beforehand literally literally in the same zip

01:44:09.480 code right down the street right assuming they were coming in to compete maybe against other private

01:44:14.840 business people who might try to launch a competing gym or recreation center but instead the town

01:44:20.360 you're paying taxes to launches your competitor okay so they launch a new facility which of course they

01:44:28.280 spare no expense on it's bigger it's newer it's nicer right and then after the after they have the

01:44:37.080 gall to take all of these tax dollars and dump it into a place which we already have in the town

01:44:42.600 they then have the gall to charge us to be members oh my god for it oh my gosh it's and and you know

01:44:50.600 what the reaction is from every person i've talked to in my town about this no did you see how low the

01:44:55.320 prices are for membership they're they're the prices are so low it's much lower than that other place

01:45:01.960 well first of all how bad is that that a local government comes in it undercuts a private business that is

01:45:09.880 already in place and you know what for a not necessary need either by the way businesses is

01:45:15.240 is where they get their tax base it's not from the homes they all want every every single highway in

01:45:22.280 texas you can't build your home anywhere near that because the towns are all saying no there's a huge

01:45:27.720 highway coming here and this is all going to be businesses and that's where they get most of their

01:45:32.120 money for the for the towns to go into business in freaking texas what the hell is happening what is

01:45:42.040 happening and then it's like oh it's so wonderful the prices are lower than the other place well you

01:45:48.600 first of all paid for all of it you the prices aren't lower you've paid them thousands of dollars

01:45:54.760 it should be free it should be free they should be paying you to go oh my gosh oh oh my gosh

01:46:03.240 but don't forget next week next couple of weeks we'll all feel charitable on tax day it's charity

01:46:08.040 it's charity it's good you're listening to glenn beck okay let me tell you about uh what the irs is

01:46:17.560 warning taxpayers about businesses tax professionals watch out for predators fishing for personal

01:46:24.040 information during tax season because if scammers get the hands on your data or a previous tax return

01:46:30.600 they can use that information to screw you even more than the irs is screwing you i'm sorry let me

01:46:38.840 get back to the copy here there is lifelock that help you against one of the predators that is trying

01:46:44.920 to screw you lifelock detects a wide range of identity thefts under uh like your social security number

01:46:58.440 there's a u.s based restoration specialist that will work to fix it now no one can prevent all

01:47:03.160 identity theft or monitor all transactions at all businesses you know what maybe that's why we should

01:47:07.560 have the government do this because they do a better job than i'm sorry back to the copy lifelock is

01:47:13.240 identity theft protection for tax season and beyond 10 off your first year use promo code beck 800 lifelock

01:47:19.960 800 lifelock or lifelock.com promo code beck for 10 off lifelock.com promo code beck

01:47:27.720 unplanned is a movie coming out this friday you should see the movie and if you happen to be in utah glenn's

01:47:32.440 going to be there watching it with you go to glenn beck.com for all the details

01:47:46.520 so pat who gets a speeding ticket every time he crosses into my town i paid for that firehouse 0.66

01:47:55.560 you're talking about no you didn't the pat gray dividend yes that's what they call us no you

01:48:00.280 didn't no you didn't i'll show you my i'll show you my property tax no you didn't you maybe bought

01:48:08.120 the stove but i bought the movie theater i bought the end suite uh uh uh uh uh live-in quarters for

01:48:18.600 everyone i mean how much did just this coin cost that tim got at the grand opening i mean

01:48:27.480 just sending this to 800 or 900 residents of your town wait wait wait yeah wait wait what there's

01:48:36.680 something like 900 residents of your town 900 no my town's bigger than that and that's why you need

01:48:42.920 no my town bigger than that everything right around everything here kind of bleeds into itself

01:48:48.280 how big is my town we have a 15 million dollar firehouse how big of a firehouse does this town

01:48:55.320 need you're telling me it's smaller than i thought i thought we were like 20 000 people oh no no

01:48:59.960 well it is nowhere near 15 what is the population of no it's it's definitely bigger than what pat's

01:49:05.080 saying it's not 900 people but it is 992 people oh my god oh my god it's 992 we have a 15 million

01:49:14.360 dollar firehouse for 992 people and but the good thing about that is it's only 15 000 per person

01:49:22.280 and that includes children oh that's not bad at all that's not bad that's good value

01:49:27.240 now i will say it is on the other hand though we look at it it is 6.7 square miles

01:49:33.480 oh wow so that is only uh 2.14 million per square mile you guys try to kill me i will explode

01:49:42.040 i'm going to explode my town is only six square miles six square miles six square miles and i have

01:49:49.000 a 15 million i am going to town council meetings right now well i am going to the next town council

01:49:58.440 meeting i can't are you are you kidding me we are six square miles and we have a 15 million dollar

01:50:07.160 firehouse it's only 2.14 million per square mile that's not bad that's not bad and i will tell you

01:50:12.520 this it's a well-policed 6.4 square miles yes it is it is i will tell you i will tell you this is the

01:50:20.680 only town that i've ever lived in i mean the police are they are on it remember when we had this string of

01:50:26.360 robberies and they were sophisticated robberies they were they were they were scoping these houses

01:50:32.440 when we first moved here uh they they had they had so they were so sophisticated that they stayed in one

01:50:39.960 house for almost two days to rob it completely okay didn't they remove the safe they removed the safe

01:50:49.320 from the foundation yes from the foundation i mean it was that these guys the the police department

01:50:55.560 boom they got them i mean nice they are good they are really good sure they should probably should

01:51:02.920 be uh can we do please do the we don't have to believe we don't have to build a new police station

01:51:07.960 too do we oh because this is not a police station fire station this is just the firehouse and by the

01:51:13.480 way again in case you missed it there's only three currently used fire trucks for the town

01:51:18.840 no they're not used they're not used very often yeah they are beautiful um and you know there is

01:51:26.360 a lot of open space in this town uh and i've never heard of a fire in the town has there ever been a

01:51:32.920 fire there did they need any fire department could they be serviced by my town's fire department at

01:51:40.120 least my town has 45 000 people in it uh you know 900 we are not helping your town i'm not putting a

01:51:46.680 scratch on those fire trucks not to help the riff-raff like you in the next town no no you're 1.00

01:51:52.120 not going to the slums with your beautiful fire trucks they're not coming my way that's unbelievable

01:51:57.160 by the way it wasn't there was a town hall meeting wait wait about this firehouse uh firehouse before

01:52:02.040 it was constructed which happened just a couple of weeks before the 2016 election when everyone was

01:52:07.720 super focused on local fire truck issues is that when they did it that's when it happened and you

01:52:13.640 you didn't attend did you no you're not involved in local government and therefore this is what

01:52:18.680 happens you know what honestly is what happens honestly you know now that i know there's only 900

01:52:23.800 of us i'm just gonna have to start having more children and then we'll just all attend because i

01:52:27.720 could change this town 900 people we can change this town i thought it was much bigger than that uh

01:52:33.000 and i i tell you that we have one of the nicest schools literally one of the nicest schools in the

01:52:38.360 nation people people will move into my town which i thought was strangely much bigger i don't so i

01:52:45.080 don't know how people do it but they move into the town just to be able to attend this school and i

01:52:50.040 mean they'll move anywhere from the country into this town because you get full access to the academy

01:52:58.040 i'm not sending my kids to the academy because i went to it it's beautiful there is a have you been

01:53:03.480 to the academy i've i drive by the academy all the time too i've never been inside okay it has a

01:53:09.400 gigantic beautiful fireplace in the lobby of the school of a school of the school okay i've never

01:53:17.240 seen that before crazy and if you live in town you get to go that's your public school well that's

01:53:22.120 fantastic as long as you like a un world curriculum it's like it's like the little red school house it

01:53:29.960 is it literally is it's the little red school house and i'm like what i'm living in texas i know

01:53:35.560 my neighbors how is this happening how is this happening and all the neighbors say the same thing

01:53:41.480 oh isn't it great no it's not great no it's not great what happened has anybody but us complained

01:53:48.360 about the fire i have not heard anybody well thank god tim and my daughter who also live in town tim

01:53:53.560 and my daughter they were the ones that went and they were like this is insane dad you're gonna

01:53:58.680 you're gonna have an aneurysm when you when you actually go inside of this place but i haven't

01:54:03.880 heard anybody say anything but oh isn't this great no no no nobody needs stone archways outside a fire

01:54:13.880 station i don't understand that every time we drive by and i drive by twice a day i look at that

01:54:19.320 stone archways outside a fire station you ever seen a house that nice no no not certainly not not and

01:54:25.720 not even a pretty nice area i live in a very nice area there's no house as nice as this fire

01:54:30.760 station no houses it's i swear to you it is nicer than the houses that the 900 people apparently own

01:54:39.000 well just the stove if it's a wolf stove what are those ten thousand dollars yeah twelve thousand

01:54:43.720 dollars i don't it yes you could get cheaper stoves you could get out come on yes yes yes i know yes i know

01:54:50.440 i know lg yeah they're very nice and they would do the same thing they would heat the food the same

01:54:55.160 way i am you know that is so far down on my priority list because restaurants will have wolf stoves okay

01:55:01.000 it's not just rich people restaurants industrial well yeah but that's an industrial that's a private

01:55:05.880 business yeah i know that i know that they're paying for it i i just get the movie theater you're

01:55:11.160 talking to me about the store i didn't know there was a movie when there's a movie theater in it

01:55:14.600 that's there's the screen comes down from the as the curtains come down and they all sit in these

01:55:21.560 these plush leather chairs that have the shield embroidered on the back of each chair it's insane

01:55:29.240 that's crazy and if you're if you're a fireman like you may have a long shift where you're

01:55:33.080 staying there and like it's somewhat standard right to have like some like little room to

01:55:37.880 watch television comfortably you should see yeah but a movie theater lines you don't need the electric

01:55:42.440 screen you don't need the movie seats and you certainly don't need the embroidery in the movies

01:55:46.600 guys you should see the gym you should see the gym in this thing oh there's a gym in it there's a gym

01:55:54.360 it is a fully the best freaking gym i mean it's like it's like what i mean do we have like arnold

01:56:03.240 schwarzenegger coming to use the gym every day this is a beautiful gym and it's insane and i feel bad

01:56:11.640 because i don't i'm not saying anything bad about the firemen in fact if you're a fireman the

01:56:16.120 disclaimer i know if you're a fireman you need a job in my town okay this is the sweetest i don't

01:56:23.480 think we have any fires but you i've never heard of one wait till you see the firehouse you need to

01:56:29.800 apply to my town and do not tell me what they're offering for salaries do not tell me because my head

01:56:36.760 will explode let me find out a quick commercial break and we'll come back and blow glenn's mind 0.95

01:56:45.400 again oh yeah is it really you're not living there you're not living there uh okay um spring is time

01:57:49.160 burns down all the time i'm just just just throwing this out but as people's homes are burned down to the

01:57:56.840 ground the one thing that is staying and standing and we've seen picture after picture after picture

01:58:00.920 of this in california the fireplace the stone and the liberty safe and you go to their website and

01:58:07.720 you'll see it they open up the liberty safe i mean it's all charred it's all just everything's gone

01:58:12.040 for blocks everything's gone open up the liberty safe and everything's still intact inside and fine

01:58:34.520 time not that i would recommend that as an employer but liberty safe.com liberty safe.com

01:58:44.600 this is the glenn beck program

01:58:53.480 i i i'm sorry to rant i'm sorry to rant on this but i think we've lost our mind i live in a small

01:59:02.440 town in idaho it's just farmers and every time i drive by either a state or a local building it is

01:59:09.640 always the nicest one that's not the way it's supposed to be no it's not and i i drive by this one

01:59:15.720 state building um and it's this beautiful beautiful building and i don't look i don't i don't care i don't

01:59:24.600 care about you know i want our town to be nice i want things but but can we have reason it's you know

01:59:32.200 the schools these schools are built and they are taj mahal's and our education is getting worse 1.00

01:59:38.840 can't we just build a building that is nice utilitarian it's not a palace yeah it can be nice

01:59:47.480 and functional yeah it doesn't have to have you know all these bells and whistles right and no one

01:59:53.720 seems to care this is completely our fault uh because a lot of these things go through in votes

02:00:00.440 with 70 and 80 and 90 percent approval nobody thinks and nobody nobody wants to vote against anything

02:00:06.760 when it comes to every time oh i do every time every time every single time i don't even get

02:00:11.080 like i they're probably things that we like desperately need and i vote against it because

02:00:14.040 i'm so annoyed with the whole process but it's like they will they will they put these bonds and

02:00:18.440 it's always borrowed as was the money for your firehouse by the way what uh it was financed um so

02:00:24.040 they they go and they borrow all the money that they don't have to build these palaces so that they

02:00:28.680 can say look what we've done to this town we've been we've made it nicer it's like well yeah it's nice

02:00:33.720 that you have a nice fire firehouse i got it i mean it's it might help when you drive by you see

02:00:39.160 a nice building i mean i don't know what the value of that is really something but but the idea is that

02:00:44.040 nobody critically looks at these things at all everyone's i mean if you put the word kids god

02:00:48.760 forbid you put the word kids in a bill pass with 90 every time everywhere and we all know and this

02:00:54.760 is by the way when it's going to pass by 90 in a state uh like texas in towns like ours which vote

02:01:01.560 very red that shows that we're not even making decisions on this stuff this is wild crazy

02:01:09.800 government spending for things that are way over the top that we do not need and yet still

02:01:16.520 conservatives will go to the polls and approve them every time you know here in texas things have

02:01:20.840 gotten so out of control here in dallas there is a school district i think it's your school district

02:01:27.400 that has the uh the uh stadium and the athletic center that when cowboy stadium is down no i don't

02:01:39.240 think that's mine but i do know you i've heard this right yeah the dallas cowboy professional nfl

02:01:45.000 uses their gym their equipment their field and their stadium for practice it's like it i don't know what

02:01:54.760 happened to texans but texans have gone insane and those are i mean at least you can make the

02:02:00.920 argument a fire department at some level has a a role from government what does that why on earth

02:02:08.760 is a town involved in building a gym like i well it's in their school it's the school that's the

02:02:15.320 high school football team first is a high school football team that are nicer the stadiums all around

02:02:21.720 texas all around texas the stadiums are nicer than most college stadiums uh and they are nicer than

02:02:29.800 some stadium stadiums right and it's it's really hard to justify because i mean yes a lot of people

02:02:35.400 will go to the games in texas more than in other places but i mean at least with college football at

02:02:39.800 times you can justify the cost as uh because a lot of times it comes back right at least some of these

02:02:44.600 big programs all of it yeah it's not that's what it is pride it's pride through the government

02:02:48.440 yeah you know like what a weird thing for a red state to care about uh and and i was talking not

02:02:53.960 about the the school gym but about the recreation center i was discussing earlier where like you know

02:02:58.440 is it really this the role of a of a government of a town to build water slides to entertain children

02:03:05.120 i like water slides i like children children love water slides is it the government's role to take

02:03:11.640 money from me if i want to go to there are water parks all over texas there are water parks all over

02:03:18.600 the place there literally is a water park within driving distance indoor uh in it's incredible and

02:03:23.240 it's it's incredible the city is competing against a private business it's insane this is texas this is

02:03:32.360 texas what the hell are we doing what is happening in you know illinois all right like what is happening in 0.51

02:03:39.000 in the north what's going to happen to us right now they've done this for years and years and years

02:03:43.720 and they lived off it and everything was fine because it's all going to be growth and more people

02:03:47.880 are moving in and then something happens and then it all falls apart because you run out of other

02:03:52.280 people's money what happens to a 15 million dollar uh firehouse what happens to a uh a school that has

02:03:59.640 just taken a bond out and built some you know palatial palace and then the economy is hit hard what

02:04:06.280 happens your taxes have to go up then what happens to you because you don't have a job or you're you've

02:04:12.760 had to cut back or whatever it's insane we're all carrying around debt that none of us actually spent

02:04:22.200 we just we just went into a voting booth and we're like oh yeah that sounds good without even thinking

02:04:27.560 about it we're on the hook for debt beyond anyone's wildest imagination one of the reasons the founders did

02:04:33.880 not like direct democracy because you see it right here it's half the people controlling all the money

02:04:38.600 of everybody else yep you're listening to glenn beck
