00:00:39.860 Most Americans seem to agree that separating children from their parents, even if their

00:00:43.840 parents entered the U.S. illegally, is a bad thing.

00:00:48.460 However, what if that mom and dad are trying to keep the kids and they're not really their

00:00:57.740 Now, I know this is hard to believe, but in today's world, fraud actually happens.

00:01:02.920 While there are plenty of heartbreaking stories of parents simply seeking a chance for a better

00:01:07.860 life for their children here in the U.S., there are also corrupt, abusive human traffickers

00:01:13.320 who profit from the illegal immigration trade.

00:01:16.860 And so we have to sort all of these things out because we're forced to now because we

00:01:23.100 will not enforce our border laws.

00:01:27.620 So we have all these people coming across and we have to now become judge and jury on everything.

00:01:34.180 This week, the Department of Homeland Security said that since October 2017, over 300 children

00:01:44.060 have arrived at the border with adults claiming to be their parents.

00:01:48.500 They turned out not to even be related at all.

00:01:52.600 Ninety of these fraud cases came from the Rio Grande Valley alone.

00:01:58.140 2017 DHS reported 46 causes of fraudulent family claims.

00:02:03.460 There have already been 191 fraudulent cases this year alone.

00:02:10.260 When the Homeland Security Secretary, Kirstjen Nielsen, pointed out that this is a 315 percent

00:02:17.520 increase, the New York Times was quick to give these family fraud cases context by noting

00:02:23.940 that they make up less than one percent of the total number of illegal immigrant families

00:02:28.220 apprehended at the southern border.

00:02:29.720 Oh, oh, well, if it's less than one percent, oh, we shouldn't care about them.

00:02:35.440 And that makes total sense from the New York Times.

00:02:37.440 Remember, if you're in the upper one percent, they don't care about you.

00:02:41.680 If you happen to be a child who is being taken by someone that claims to be your parents,

00:06:00.960 Now, according to Newsweek, President Obama kept more than double the number of children in detention centers than the Trump White House.

00:06:24.560 And we know this because political activists began sharing a photo of the children that were detained in these cages.

00:06:31.440 And that culminated on Father's Day weekend when the outrage went into a frenzy.

00:06:36.060 Now, these pictures, as you know, were not real.

00:06:39.500 But they saw how quickly they became viral.

00:06:43.640 And so the left decided, here's a hot button we have to exploit.

00:06:47.800 Now, those pictures that originally went viral, what happened?

00:06:54.460 Those pictures that went viral were from 2014.

00:06:58.540 This was happening in 2014.

00:07:02.000 But it's not about Barack Obama, just like this isn't about Donald Trump.

00:07:10.840 And specifically about families on the border.

00:07:14.360 This has been a problem spanning decades and has involved the last four presidents.

00:07:31.040 President Obama, when he was dealing with it, he said that Congress has to act.

00:07:43.640 Now that the president is unpopular with the press, they are making sure to let everybody know that only the president can fix this.

00:09:05.040 So, in other words, in this case in 1997, the Supreme Court mandated that it was unlawful to hold an illegal immigrant child in federal detainment facilities.

00:09:17.960 Now, this is really important.

00:09:20.520 Because if you come with your family.

00:09:23.520 You, by law, with this lawsuit that was settled by the Supreme Court, Flores v. Reno, 1997, you cannot hold the children.

00:09:40.000 They have to be released to a family member or a facility.

00:09:45.420 Okay, so what happened?

00:09:49.360 Well, when that happened and we started splitting families away under Clinton, George Bush tried to fix this because what happened?

00:09:59.200 We started seeing a rise in human trafficking with children.

00:10:03.660 People would come and say, yep, I'm a relative and they weren't.

00:10:08.160 And you started to see a number of children that were being human trafficked.

00:10:12.400 You saw people come over the border saying that they were their parents, they would be released, and the children would go into trafficking.

00:10:22.200 So, President Bush signed what's called the Wilberforce Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act.

00:10:31.180 What did that do?

00:10:32.800 That codified Flores v. Reno.

00:10:37.560 Now, everything was going along fine.

00:10:42.400 We were still separating children and families from the Clinton administration, during the Bush administration, and during the Obama administration.

00:10:54.260 But then there was this sudden, unexplained rush to the border in 2014.

00:11:04.440 All of these unaccompanied minors started rushing into the country.

00:11:08.760 We had to detain them.

00:11:11.940 President Obama put them in cages.

00:11:18.320 They were not only just detaining these kids and putting them in cages.

00:11:22.120 The reason why we brought food and everything else down to them is because the country wasn't prepared.

00:13:08.180 Well, the problem with that was, once you were released, nobody was coming back for their trial.
