On today's show, Glenn Beck is joined by Pat and Stu as they talk about the Trump pardon, the pardon of Donald Trump, and how it affects the future of the country. Glenn also talks about his recent knee surgery and how he plans to get back on the air soon.

01:28:19.660you know i want to start uh with uh a personal note here um i want to thank megan kelly and tucker
01:28:28.860carlson you know when i started the blaze the idea was because we were the only ones doing anything
01:28:34.860like this it'd be there were there were people like adam curry who was way ahead of the uh the game
01:28:39.600who had done his own show online but nobody had put together a bunch of talent and done a network
01:28:46.380um and we started a television internet and radio network um you know when nobody was doing it
01:28:54.320and my goal was to get people to join together i i worked at fox i worked at cnn i don't want anyone
01:29:04.400telling me what i can and cannot say and that is that's been our our uh overarching rule uh at at
01:29:13.120the blaze we don't tell the talent what to say we will tell the talent you know if they if i started
01:29:19.840because this happened to me when i was at premiere um and still am uh they're a great company to work
01:29:25.620with i remember i used to use the lord's name in vain much more this is when i first started the show
01:29:31.840and was first you know finding christ and it was in my it was just in my lexicon and uh uh they said
01:29:40.840you know you're gonna lose stations in the south if you continue to do this but if you want to that's
01:29:46.580fine we just want to let you know and uh i said oh that's a bad thing and you know taking the lord's
01:29:52.800name in vain probably something i should work on um and that's the only thing we ever do to our talent
01:29:58.240um is just tell them give them information um and then let them decide that is so important
01:30:07.400that no one controls an individual's voice in today's world um that's why so many people are
01:30:16.900independent my goal was to gather all of the voices and put them all and i didn't want their money or
01:30:23.780anything else i just wanted one place so everybody could have one price on a on a you know like a cable
01:30:30.540network and we could have the best shows it hasn't worked out that way um uh you know we've had
01:30:36.380several great great talent join us uh the biggest probably is uh mark levin uh that was the first big
01:30:44.060one to to join with the blaze and this idea um and we have we have to come together and i talked to you
01:30:55.760yesterday about the problem at uh youtube by this fall you probably will never see any of my
01:31:06.360youtube videos recommended you will have to go to youtube.com slash glenn beck to find they're not
01:31:13.180recommending we we had 90 million um 90 million views two months ago um or impressions and i don't
01:31:25.400remember how many tens of millions of actual views on the shows that has been cut in half in one month
01:31:33.940that was cut in half this month it looks like it's going to be cut in half again this is an
01:31:40.700algorithm this is something they are doing to shut us down and silence my voice and i know it's
01:31:48.200happening to others as well um and by the time we hit election you're just not going to see our points
01:31:54.260of view you're just not going to see them so you're going to have to search them out well i wanted to
01:31:59.860take a minute here just to thank megan kelly and tucker carlson for um all of us getting together
01:32:06.740and now in our in our feeds once in a while if megan's got a great show that i think you're going
01:32:13.940to like uh i will put a megan kelly show in my uh feed and a tucker carlson show in my feed
01:32:23.520to expose people to those shows if they don't happen to follow them and they are going to do
01:32:29.360the same thing with my show in their feed um and i just can't thank you know these are two of the
01:32:37.300biggest talents out there and for them to you know agree to join with me and me join with them
01:32:45.720uh to expose each other's audience to voices we find important uh is is beyond business
01:32:55.440and so good for the country and i just wanted to thank tucker and megan for for doing that
01:33:01.800and alert you that their shows will also start occasionally not all the time but occasionally
01:33:07.360will be in my feed so you can hear the shows that i think are important for you to hear from them
01:33:13.220uh also last night we tried something different on television um because we are going to be
01:33:22.400expanding the show not only going to continue to do our wednesday night specials um but i also
01:33:28.040uh want to branch out and do some history things this summer we did a pilot i think last year
01:33:35.000on how did we get to be this country that just listens to the experts we did one episode it did
01:33:42.660really really well uh so i think we have six episodes that will be coming out this summer
01:33:47.980it is fantastic it shows you exactly what's how did we get to where we are in our schools
01:33:57.540how did we get here in medicine how is it that nobody listens to themselves anymore or common sense
01:34:05.240it is a it's a brilliantly designed system that was put into place a hundred years ago and you never
01:34:13.560noticed it well we've tracked it and a great series on history on experts is going to be premiering
01:34:22.520uh audio only uh this summer it'll start in a couple of weeks um and then last night uh on television
01:34:30.900i started a history show it's called the beck story and it's taking you into our vault uh which we
01:34:39.660have tens of millions of dollars uh of of artifacts that uh i have collected david barton has collected
01:34:48.540uh and the american journey experience which is part of mercury one has collected they just got some
01:34:55.280amazing things yesterday um but we have it's it's the largest library um on the american founding
01:35:04.340outside of the library of congress and the national archives it's significant we're now digitizing it
01:35:12.820putting it all online i'm going to be asking you to help uh preserve this history yourself
01:35:19.800uh in a very special uh way that you will actually be doing it i'll explain that as we get closer to
01:35:27.800uh july um but uh last night we started on a controversial piece of history i wanted to teach about sputnik
01:35:37.680because i paid a lot of money to buy the i think it's the third or the fourth uh prototype of sputnik
01:35:47.880they only made four of them uh and uh the last one burned up in space i bought one at auction uh it
01:35:59.440came up they never obviously come up for auction because the only other only other sputniks one is in
01:36:06.020the air and space museum in washington and the other one is in the air and space museum in moscow
01:36:11.720the other one is sitting in our vault in dallas texas uh which by the way going to be opening up
01:36:20.220for the public this fall we'll give you more information um when we got it my uh staff came
01:36:30.460to me after about a month because we take the research that we've already done before we buy
01:36:36.500uh an object and then we expand it and so we have the provenance and the whole story behind everything
01:36:42.700that we have and the story started to fall apart and we didn't know wait a minute did i just
01:36:50.500pay i think the final price the hammer price was 300 so it was almost 400 000 for a fake
01:36:59.660we talked to experts here's a little clip from last night's show i noticed that the what was it we
01:37:08.360saw the picture where the right antennas are the wrong way this picture in particular we we noticed
01:37:14.420that in some of the other auctions and some of the other models that currently are here in the united
01:37:19.620states and one in russia the antennas are actually facing a different direction uh ours is the only one
01:37:26.240mounted in this particular fashion uh we also have a a few other issues uh we have a charging plate
01:37:33.620on one of the sides of the object that doesn't exist on the other three models which i mean it could
01:37:41.500have just been a different way to charge sputnik right because in 1950 no i know no there wouldn't
01:37:48.460have been a charger no there's a charging plate on this it was some sort of port to either receive
01:37:54.940information or to possibly power uh something inside the unit but the point is that there is a
01:38:01.020particular plate on the outside that shouldn't be there because it's not on the other model
01:38:05.260there are only three made four i mean four but what the one burned up in space
01:38:11.680well so there were three lab models that we can confirm the serial number says that this is number four
01:38:19.500but no one has any record of this fourth existing during that time period so this may not even be
01:38:27.180okay we bought it as one of three or one of four but the fourth one burned up in re-entry
01:38:34.780one of three and then you found out that there's other lab models and this isn't even
01:38:42.680one of those so i spent a ton of money i'm not telling my wife at this point
01:38:50.580is what i bought real or not and if not where did it come from time to roll up our sleeves and get to
01:38:59.580work so we take you through and we talk to the best space experts i mean the one of the guys is
01:39:09.280he's the guy who verifies everything for the smithsonian uh another one is an expert on
01:39:16.120everything in russia uh we talked to the family where this sputnik came from uh over in i can't
01:39:24.100remember the czech republic or someplace uh and the answer uh was not satisfying it wasn't devastating
01:39:33.520but it wasn't satisfying i'd like to hear if anybody watched the show last night
01:39:38.260please call this was a prototype this was a pilot uh for a series that we want to do and i'd just
01:39:44.860like to hear if you liked it or not uh please let us know because we really don't want to produce
01:39:51.060something that you don't like and are not going to watch um but it it contained this mystery behind
01:39:57.200it and the history of sputnik and the space race and everything else it by the way you can watch it on
01:40:03.340youtube tonight at 6 p.m uh on my channel believe me they're not going to push it out you're going to
01:40:09.880have to go to youtube.com slash glenn beck and uh find it it airs at 6 p.m tonight on youtube
01:40:17.520seems like that'd be a real problem if uh if it's not legitimate uh wouldn't it and it seems like
01:40:25.760you might have an issue with the auction company yes yeah we did have some conversation the auction
01:40:32.140company stands by it they're like look this this is the you know this is who we talked to yada yada
01:40:37.760we couldn't get a hold of the family member that they had the uh documentation to and that was that
01:40:47.000was one of the big sticking points was uh we can't get a hold of them do they even exist uh and they
01:40:54.780kept saying yes yes yes yes yes eventually we got a hold of them and flew them in for an interview
01:41:00.540um and uh and and they they verified uh but it's all just so history is so weird did they just have
01:41:10.900the sputnik in their attic or something it's just like yeah so the story buried up there under some
01:41:16.360blankets and uh i know well the story is that one of the guys who started uh what is it the jet
01:41:24.260propulsion laboratories um he's one of the big names along with warner verner von braun um he did a lot
01:41:33.540of work um uh after you know you know in the late 80s he started doing work uh with the soviets and
01:41:42.760the czech republic etc etc and this model was given to him and he had it in his home you know someplace in
01:41:51.660europe but part of the family doesn't remember ever seeing it but he had a lot of yeah like a warehouse
01:41:59.740of stuff and other members of the family said no i yeah i remember seeing it you know you know when i
01:42:07.000was younger i i remember he showed it to me uh and it's and he's dead uh and so we don't we don't know
01:42:17.000i was surprised about its playstation 5 compatibility that didn't seem like they'd have
01:42:21.660that back in those days no that's what we figured out that portal was probably yeah yeah yeah yeah i
01:42:28.580mean it just feels like this is stuff that you should know before you you wind up spending hundreds
01:42:34.600of thousands of dollars on an item right like is this the normal process that you buy this stuff and
01:42:39.320then you have to figure out if it's legitimate no no you get paperwork for it right yeah uh and you know
01:42:46.580the provenance and then but we've had this before we bought a from some auction house we bought
01:42:52.480a compass that was said to be davy crockett's compass and i can't remember why it was important
01:42:59.580davy crockett's compass blah blah blah but uh when we got it we did started doing research on it and it
01:43:08.520had a i think it had a piece of it that was that was uh you know like 10 years after davy crockett
01:43:16.020and then we found out we started doing more research and we found out no this came from a
01:43:20.940friend of davy crockett who didn't wouldn't have been around davy crockett to get that compass uh and
01:43:28.660so it fell apart and we just went back to the auction house and said fake the made in china etching
01:43:33.800on the back wasn't a clue you didn't yeah yeah that's what we really thought that was strange when
01:43:39.900we found that it's weird nick yeah yeah yeah made in north korea we thought wow uh
01:43:44.860all right our sponsor uh this half hour is rough greens you love your dog i love my dog last night i
01:43:54.560made uno's dinner and uh and put it down and he ran to the bowl and he doesn't run a lot anymore
01:44:01.620he loves rough greens um if you know your kibble food is not the healthiest thing for your dog i mean
01:44:09.560you know there's decent kibble food but it's all sterilized so it can sit on a shelf for two years
01:44:16.520that's not good that's like eating a mcdonald's burger that is sat on the shelf for two years doesn't
01:44:22.280mold it can be stable for two years that's not healthy you need to replenish all of that stuff that
01:44:30.040has been cooked out of the kibble food and that's what rough greens is you just sprinkle it on top
01:44:35.280of your dog's food it tastes good to them i haven't tried it have you tried it pat i have not yeah i
01:44:41.200haven't either it doesn't seem like it would be good for people um but whatever is healthy for your dog
01:44:47.000it's most likely in rough greens and they love it uh they want to make sure that you have uh you know

01:46:14.000did you come away with last night um a did you learn and your family learn about sputnik and the did

01:46:28.540old enough that i remember sputnik going up wow yeah thanks so i learned i learned a lot about
01:46:38.460sputnik while i was in school yeah um what i learned is i understand why you didn't want to
01:46:45.360tell tanya what you spent on it until you knew
01:46:47.980you know that would be like like me spending five hundred dollars without telling my husband yeah
01:46:57.580we did this 56 years so what did you come back did you did you did you think it was real or not
01:47:05.840by the end i don't i believe it's authentic you think it's authentic is that what you said

01:49:16.020we should be talking about 40 isn't it weird 40 remember 20 years ago we were talking about how
01:49:22.140someday it might be dow 10 000 and we thought that was crazy i remember dow 40 000 today i remember you
01:49:30.140doing an interview with a guy who wrote a book i think it was called dow 86 000 and it was in 2007
01:49:37.000and he was saying he was going to go to 86 000 you're like i don't think so i think we're in
01:49:41.860some real financial turmoil of right around the corner and he's like glad you don't know what
01:49:46.340you're talking about dow 86 000 right around the corner and then uh 2008 was the next year yeah
01:49:52.340uh anyway um last night i did a show and i'm just sorry to use the program as a focus group but
01:50:01.720we did a show last night on history and it was the first if this is a pilot so if it if it uh rated
01:50:08.680well and and people enjoyed it uh we're going to start doing more and it will all be based on the
01:50:14.000history that we have in the vault um and last night was sputnik i wanted to start with that but
01:50:20.620after i bought sputnik there was some problems with it we found out that some things are wrong
01:50:27.000about it uh and we started calling experts and they're like that's definitely wrong but if you're
01:50:32.840going to fake something that is so wrong you'd never fake it uh you you just know it's so simple
01:50:41.220to get wrong but we don't really know uh whether or not it's it's real but it was the show was about
01:50:49.860sputnik the hunt to see if this one was the the actual russian built sputnik uh and also the
01:50:57.140history and what sputnik meant and we're trying to make shows that will appeal to your family and
01:51:02.940teach your kids history because you shouldn't trust anything that's coming from schools now
01:51:06.980um we have kevin on the phone kevin you watched the show last night yes i did glenn and what'd you
01:51:13.260think well i thought it was great um i uh i i'm 10 years older than you so i do remember it also
01:51:20.980just like your last caller and uh it's uh it's always fascinated me and what's really fascinating
01:51:27.680is what you and david barton are doing with historical memorabilia and this is one of those
01:51:31.700pieces it's just incredible to me i i would love to come and see the museum uh i was at 828 and
01:51:37.740restoring love but i haven't been able to come to the museum i would love to be there
01:51:41.140well we are just opening it uh we've been doing test runs for tours for the last couple of months
01:51:48.400we've not advertised it um but this fall we'll be announcing that we are going to open it to the
01:51:53.980public uh and you'll be able to come see it if you're ever in dallas you'll be able to come and
