Mawlus Darkblade is a new DLC for Age of Sigmar and Age of Dawn, and it's a great addition to the campaign. I'm back from a week off, and I'm feeling a bit better now, so I thought to get back into the game by getting back into Warhammer Total War 2.

00:00:00.960 Greetings, Laddingtons. I am back. I'm back from a week under a severe bubonic plague man-cold, but yeah, I'm feeling a bit better now, and I thought to get back to the video production by getting into good old Warhammer Total War 2,
00:00:23.540 because we have a new DLC, which I talked about in the recent Forest video log. I talked about Mawlus Darkblade. If you haven't already checked that out, I encourage you to do it.
00:00:37.260 Just search on my channel for Mawlus Darkblade, or yeah, it's like two videos in the latest playlist, so you can check it out so you know who Mawlus Darkblade is, so you get a good feel for the books, etc.
00:00:52.460 So, as you can see, we have a new epic background here. Unfortunately, I showed in a recent video log titled Snow at Last, but it started raining the day after, so we do not have snow in Middle Scandinavia now.
00:01:12.220 But we have a snow here, at least, so it's something, I suppose. Anyway, let's get into the campaign.
00:01:20.940 Also, again, thank you to Jan for gifting this fine DLC to me. Most heartfelt gift.
00:01:28.220 So, first and foremost, you can see here, they have new art for each character. So you see Tyrion here is looking much more aesthetic than he did before. Same thing with Alith Anar.
00:01:43.160 So, very good job on this. 0.99
00:01:49.880 And now, who is this mad cunt, you might ask? 1.00
00:01:52.800 Son of Haggrief. 1.00
00:01:57.260 Mawlus Darkblade. Here he is, the man himself, the man of the hour.
00:02:02.560 So, what do we have here?
00:02:05.340 Yes, starting position, apparently here, down in the Sea of Dread, even though his hometown is up, well, in Nagaroth, in Haggrief.
00:02:15.920 But I'm sure we can get there eventually.
00:02:18.920 So, initial challenge, hard.
00:02:23.400 Yeah, it's good. An extra challenge.
00:02:26.780 Then I will play on Legendary, because I've played enough of this to be, yeah, to want the strategic challenge.
00:02:34.420 But I don't know if I will actually make a series on this, or if I will just make a video, an overview of it, having a look at it.
00:02:43.360 So, basically, a lot of different traits here.
00:02:48.260 He's possessed by the demon Tzarkan, as I mentioned in the book review slash forest video log.
00:02:57.760 Allied with the Witch King himself. 0.91
00:03:02.540 Here is the Witch King Malekith, for those of you who are not aware. 0.97
00:03:07.500 And, yeah, extra income from mines.
00:03:12.180 Always good, I suppose.
00:03:13.540 And then, cheaper cold one, knights and chariots.
00:03:21.240 Good stuff, good stuff.
00:03:22.980 So, I suppose we'll just get in to it.
00:03:25.780 Darker. 0.81
00:03:35.680 A demon cruel beyond compare. 1.00
00:03:39.380 Imprisoned by fools, who sought to harness his dark might. 1.00
00:03:44.400 All soon perished. 1.00
00:03:49.160 Till, the demon could not slip his chains.
00:03:54.400 Millennia passed.
00:03:56.680 Then mortal greed pound him once more.
00:04:00.940 The drinker of worlds was loose.
00:04:03.520 Yet, in a twist of fate, Tzarkan's liberator became only another cage. 0.64
00:04:13.640 Raging at their undesired bond.
00:04:17.000 Demon and host enact vengeance upon this world.
00:04:22.240 All shudder, save for the Skaven.
00:04:31.940 Deep in their under-empire.
00:04:35.440 Noisome warlords plot to seize this hell-sent power.
00:04:40.840 The Eshin master assassin must hunt it down. 1.00
00:04:46.300 Else lose his night lord's capricious favor.
00:04:49.880 A fate every Skaven fears.
00:04:54.140 So, Sniksh's poison blades will find their target.
00:04:58.620 Whomever it may be.
00:04:59.860 The Witch-King knows well where Tarkhan lurks. 1.00
00:05:05.440 For its host dances to his tune.
00:05:10.280 Malekith promises the Elixir to subjugate the Demon Shade. 0.99
00:05:15.460 If the fabled scrolls of Herkati are first brought to him. 0.73
00:05:21.680 Tarkhan's possession has cost Malus' Darkblade dearly.
00:05:27.100 He cannot refuse.
00:05:28.300 To the rat-infested Southlands, he must go. 0.62
00:05:35.260 Rat Deathmaster and Druki Tyrant.
00:05:40.160 Bound for battle, but neither knowing it yet.
00:05:45.020 All the world will quail when Shadow meets Blade.
00:05:51.180 Though Haggrif remains under my control, the Witch-King has dispatched me here to gather the scrolls of Herkati. 1.00
00:06:04.700 I must quieten my mind and let nothing distract me.
00:06:11.340 Just off these shores, a Black Ark stands ready to unleash devastation upon my enemies here and across the waters in the Southlands. 0.99
00:06:23.480 The jungles and mountains of this place appear to house many sites of Arkane power.
00:06:30.820 I shall harness them for my lord Malekith. 0.98
00:06:35.200 And he will grant me what was promised. 1.00
00:06:39.040 Shut up, demon! 1.00
00:06:43.580 Curb your thirst for souls. 1.00
00:06:47.260 The Asur are mine to annihilate. 1.00
00:06:50.560 Their islands will not protect them. 0.69
00:06:52.880 My affliction is both a terrible curse and an immeasurable source of power.
00:07:03.140 But soon I will have greater control.
00:07:06.260 I will do what I must to ensure that I return to Naggaroth in triumph!
00:07:17.780 Alright, another epic introduction by a very cool and soothing voice the narrator has.
00:07:27.540 Not this particular Malekith, but the guy in the introduction sequences, always very well done.
00:07:36.340 And some cool artwork as well there.
00:07:39.060 I think one of those shots will be the thumbnail for this video.
00:07:44.020 And as I said in a recent video on Warhammer, they are bringing back the old world.
00:07:51.620 And this, what we see here, is actually the old world.
00:07:54.420 So, it's highly joyous for all true Warhammer bras.
00:08:00.420 And this particular mission is actually an addition to the story of Molly Starkblade, so to speak.
00:08:07.460 So, this isn't part of the books.
00:08:09.380 But I really like that they can use this opportunity with this game to tell another Molly Starkblade story.
00:08:19.300 So, let's look at how they play here.
00:08:24.420 Okay, so we need to take elixirs.
00:08:26.420 I have come for you, Asher.
00:08:29.780 You are weak here, far from home.
00:08:33.860 Your powers dwindle while mine grow. 0.99
00:08:37.380 My lord, Charkhan is a powerful demon that resides within you. 1.00
00:08:50.580 His control is strong, but with his curse comes great powers and abilities to use against your enemies.
00:08:59.540 Yes, so, as I was going to say, the dark elves and high elves are bitter enemies.
00:09:08.820 And their rivalry continues on, even in the colonies.
00:09:13.860 So, up here we have an elixir.
00:09:16.740 And it costs us 600 to, I suppose, regain control of ourselves.
00:09:23.860 So, yes, some different gameplay mechanics there if we let him have too much of, say, the demon inside.
00:09:37.060 So, they had also made an update to the Black Orcs.
00:09:45.460 So, apparently this guy can level and stuff and he can also attack coastal settlements.
00:09:52.180 So, what I will do, I will keep this episode quite short because this is just an overview.
00:10:01.300 And you might ask, why do I not make Let's Plays on Total War?
00:10:05.860 Yes, it's because Total War is more of an acquired taste as opposed to Assassin's Creed where you can get into the game and you understand the game more at once.
00:10:23.060 So, I want to continue on the Assassin's Creed Unity Let's Play when we are in Paris and running around there.
00:10:30.740 So, I think it's more easily accessible for most subscribers to watch.
00:10:35.380 That's why I want to continue there.
00:10:36.900 And then, as a celebration of hitting 100,000 subscribers, I want to play The Witcher 3.
00:10:46.580 And that's also a very good game to showcase the power of gaming in a good way.
00:10:53.420 That you can show European folklore in a very attractive way.
00:10:58.280 So, Malarnur is also a new sort of character.
00:11:05.240 He's a beast master.
00:11:06.740 So, that being said, I will just get into battle here against Amon Air.
00:11:14.840 I don't think it will be any problem here at all.
00:11:21.100 Actually, I'm just going to put him there.
00:11:23.920 And put him in there. 0.95
00:11:28.460 And then we charge.
00:11:35.020 Okay.
00:11:35.880 So, we don't get any support here except that we have the Soul Rain, Sky Cauldron and Kain's Lash.
00:11:45.860 But I do believe we should be able to have this anyway.
00:11:49.540 So, let's get into the battle.
00:11:51.860 Right, we are in the battle.
00:11:55.600 And also, I forgot to mention that we do have one last episode on the Age of Vampires 2 Definitive Edition Vlad campaign.
00:12:03.920 That I will do before doing The Witcher.
00:12:07.560 So, yeah.
00:12:08.580 A lot of gaming as of late.
00:12:10.080 But worry not.
00:12:11.000 I have some regular videos incoming as well.
00:12:14.520 It's just that, again, I've been sick in the bubonic plague.
00:12:19.240 So, I haven't really been able to do any videos.
00:12:24.280 Now, let me concentrate here on winning this battle.
00:12:29.560 So, here we have a new unit.
00:12:33.000 A Medusa.
00:12:37.380 That is straight from Greek myth.
00:12:44.280 And hopefully...
00:12:47.800 No, they are not targeting her.
00:12:51.060 They are some Illyrian archers.
00:12:58.740 They are just standing there getting absolutely wrecked by our Dark Shards here.
00:13:04.500 Then, we also do have Cold Ones.
00:13:13.800 And...
00:13:14.320 Aha, these are not Cold One chariots.
00:13:17.080 These are Scourge Runner chariots. 0.99
00:13:20.420 We will actually place you over there.
00:13:22.960 So, we can flank.
00:13:24.720 And then, I suppose, we'll keep the Cold One cavalier there too. 0.99
00:13:31.660 So, we can get around.
00:13:33.400 The High Elves are quite good in close combat. 1.00
00:13:39.820 And also on...
00:13:42.940 Well, at range.
00:13:44.740 Since they have so many missile units.
00:13:48.500 But we'll try to make the most out of this situation.
00:13:54.720 So, here we have Tsarkan, Lord Ability.
00:14:01.320 But I don't want him to get overly possessed.
00:14:08.000 And these mad guns, they charged in directly.
00:14:11.260 I'm not sure why.
00:14:12.620 Since they're light cavalry and they will get wrecked.
00:14:17.380 And now, hopefully...
00:14:18.800 The blood prize.
00:14:25.200 Okay, so he can...
00:14:27.200 Do...
00:14:30.200 A few different things there.
00:14:33.080 Okay, so here...
00:14:34.400 I can't charge in...
00:14:37.000 There, unfortunately.
00:14:38.040 And they're absolutely wrecking us.
00:14:41.360 Not good.
00:14:43.340 Not good at all.
00:14:45.360 But...
00:14:45.840 It is what it is.
00:14:48.560 So, you see here...
00:14:49.560 I can't charge in because they have...
00:14:51.040 Pikes or spears. 0.94
00:14:53.900 But I need to charge in because otherwise they will get shot to bits. 0.93
00:15:02.500 Alright, ladding tons.
00:15:04.000 Get back into the action.
00:15:07.360 And I will have to disengage with my...
00:15:10.900 With my dark charge.
00:15:13.340 So, they don't get stuck into close combat.
00:15:15.900 Aha, our Medusa has gotten...
00:15:20.620 Trapped there.
00:15:27.000 Boom.
00:15:28.060 And our cold ones...
00:15:30.200 Worst unit ever.
00:15:33.200 They charge and they get routed by some...
00:15:37.720 Normie...
00:15:40.900 Northern sea god. 0.86
00:15:44.240 Absolutely blasphemous.
00:15:45.900 If anything.
00:15:54.680 And here on the right hand side...
00:15:56.720 I have some...
00:15:57.760 Magic from...
00:15:59.900 The Black Ark. 0.75
00:16:11.320 So, the...
00:16:12.520 Dilemma I have here...
00:16:14.280 Is the blood price.
00:16:16.400 I think I will actually do it.
00:16:19.380 Even though it might...
00:16:21.800 Cause...
00:16:22.720 Sarkan to have more...
00:16:24.720 Influence over me.
00:16:26.980 But...
00:16:27.600 It will have to be worth it.
00:16:29.760 Because I need to win...
00:16:31.620 This battle.
00:16:32.220 Alright, I utilized a little edit there.
00:16:37.040 So we can get...
00:16:39.040 Closer to the conclusion of the battle.
00:16:42.400 And...
00:16:43.040 We're out on thin ice.
00:16:45.240 So I have to pay the blood price again. 0.99
00:16:47.500 So we can kill Amon here. 0.99
00:16:49.180 It is... 0.99
00:16:50.000 It is...
00:16:51.000 The only...
00:16:54.000 Course of action.
00:16:54.840 The only reasonable course of action.
00:16:56.800 I mean, of course.
00:16:57.760 Then we can actually...
00:16:59.000 Invoke Tzarkan. 1.00
00:17:01.360 And then...
00:17:02.080 Health and fatigue...
00:17:04.460 Are restored.
00:17:05.660 So that is...
00:17:07.000 One option we do have.
00:17:08.260 We could do it if I feel...
00:17:14.540 The need for it.
00:17:18.040 But...
00:17:18.680 It is looking quite good.
00:17:21.540 Anyway.
00:17:22.440 Okay.
00:17:22.920 Victory.
00:17:23.660 Good.
00:17:24.740 It was a tight one.
00:17:26.140 I was a bit...
00:17:27.440 Unsure I would actually...
00:17:29.400 Do it.
00:17:30.420 But...
00:17:30.800 The superior...
00:17:32.200 Skill of...
00:17:33.300 Mollus Darkman here...
00:17:35.000 Gave us the victory.
00:17:36.680 So, yeah.
00:17:38.560 There we are.
00:17:39.720 Pyrrhic victory.
00:17:40.740 Boom.
00:17:42.340 And we will of course...
00:17:43.720 Occupy it.
00:17:45.620 We could loot and occupy. 0.86
00:17:47.540 That would...
00:17:48.660 Be what...
00:17:49.520 Mollus would have done.
00:17:50.800 But...
00:17:51.120 I don't want to...
00:17:52.580 Damage any buildings.
00:17:53.520 So...
00:17:55.520 We gained a banner there as well.
00:17:57.960 Which we didn't...
00:17:59.520 Use.
00:18:00.720 Okay.
00:18:01.560 Hostile takeover.
00:18:03.760 The wealthiest dreadlord of Hargrief...
00:18:05.960 Sent you a large sum...
00:18:07.760 To bribe you into giving up...
00:18:09.280 On your Drachau position.
00:18:12.020 The money would certainly...
00:18:13.440 Be useful and boost your treasury considerably.
00:18:16.560 As it is currently almost empty.
00:18:20.020 Once the mission for Malekith is complete... 0.73
00:18:22.860 Taking back what is yours...
00:18:24.180 Should not pose much of a problem.
00:18:26.260 However...
00:18:27.000 The minds of Hargrief...
00:18:28.740 Could...
00:18:29.080 Keep...
00:18:30.580 The expedition running for some time yet.
00:18:33.220 Okay.
00:18:33.740 So we're being presented with a...
00:18:35.700 Dilemma here.
00:18:36.420 So give up on Hargrief...
00:18:39.740 And focus on the expedition.
00:18:43.400 Also 50...
00:18:44.740 In growth for 5 turns.
00:18:48.460 And 20,000 plus in treasury.
00:18:50.820 That's quite a bit.
00:18:52.600 Or we could exile...
00:18:54.300 This filth.
00:18:55.860 Everything under control.
00:18:57.300 This is a hard question indeed.
00:19:06.860 But I do believe we will take the money... 1.00
00:19:09.800 And then come back and kill the usurper... 1.00
00:19:13.340 Once we get back to Nagaroth. 1.00
00:19:15.420 So boom.
00:19:16.360 Take the money.
00:19:17.360 Okay so...
00:19:22.800 This bar shows how much influence Tzarkan has over Malus. 1.00
00:19:27.380 Some good...
00:19:28.680 Okay we must drink elixirs to keep the demon at bay.
00:19:37.740 Aha and Tzarkan can give us some missions there as well.
00:19:41.860 So it seems that they have...
00:19:44.600 Tzarkan has full possession my lord. 0.68
00:19:47.220 Making you unmatched on the battlefield.
00:19:50.840 However...
00:19:51.960 Your commanders and warriors are more distrustful of you.
00:19:56.000 Resulting in reduced loyalty and troop replenishment.
00:20:00.340 By taking the elixir...
00:20:02.300 You can reduce possession...
00:20:04.180 And increase your control.
00:20:07.840 Right.
00:20:08.620 So we can take an elixir there.
00:20:11.860 And...
00:20:13.300 Yes.
00:20:14.880 I was just going to say...
00:20:16.120 Finishing up this episode...
00:20:19.240 That they have made a very good job...
