00:00:00.000 Greetings you proud sons of the old father.
00:00:07.000 Today I want to introduce you to my concept of culture stack as it were and
00:00:14.000 this is something I do to enjoy life more basically and find motivation in
00:00:18.000 self-improvement in the gym, in the temple of glory, in the temple of Thor.
00:00:23.000 So basically what I do is if we look at the gym, books, music, TV series, films and gaming
00:00:33.000 if we look at those things and try to connect those with each other.
00:00:37.000 So right now my culture stack is in all actuality from the end of Rome until the Viking Age
00:00:44.000 so when the Germanic tribes are beginning to move that's my culture stack right now.
00:00:48.000 So we've got the North Atlantic culture kind of thing so with Britain, Ireland, Scotland, the Norse lands etc.
00:00:56.000 So we can begin with music.
00:00:59.000 Listening now to Ensiferum and you know Viking kind of music, Amon Amart,
00:01:04.000 Croatian for that Irish feel, stuff like that.
00:01:07.000 Now you all know I usually listen to metal either way but it you know creates that extra feel to it.
00:01:14.000 So there is the music part of it and if we switch to books I've bought two new books right now.
00:01:22.000 Viking voices, they're in Ireland as well so I will utilize that before I go to Ireland next time which will be in a few weeks.
00:01:30.000 And then obviously Bernard Cornwell has come out with a new book.
00:01:35.000 If you haven't read Bernard Cornwell's books on Uthred, do so.
00:01:39.000 Highly recommend it, book advice for the day.
00:01:41.000 Bernard Cornwell and yeah a really great author, I love him.
00:01:45.000 No homo.
00:01:46.000 So yeah that's the book advice I have right there.
00:01:49.000 Now I've read loads over that time as well.
00:01:52.000 And then we can go to the TV series.
00:01:54.000 We have Vikings just started a new season.
00:01:58.000 And for everyone it's like oh it's not that historical accurate.
00:02:00.000 Well like nothing is, you take it for what it is, you don't have to watch it.
00:02:04.000 But for me I enjoy it either way even though like it isn't the most historical accurate.
00:02:09.000 And then with the gaming part obviously we got Attila which I'm more or less obsessed with right now.
00:02:14.000 You've seen all the Let's Plays if you haven't already.
00:02:17.000 Check them out, I'll link them below.
00:02:19.000 And then Mount and Blade also to get that immersive feel.
00:02:22.000 So I get, so I'm in that mode all the time.
00:02:24.000 Like in Viking mode like with, in that kind of setting.
00:02:29.000 And then when I go to the gym I'll be like fwoah, I'm a great Varyngian guard.
00:02:34.000 I'm a fucking guardian of Asgard, I'm a Viking warrior.
00:02:37.000 And then also I've switched my training a bit now as well.
00:02:40.000 Now is not the time for me to be shredded.
00:02:42.000 I'm gonna focus a bit more on strongman.
00:02:44.000 I'm gonna try to train strongman at least once a week.
00:02:48.000 Because that's, you know, Nordic Scandinavian kind of Northern European feel to it.
00:02:53.000 So I'm gonna go with that for a while.
00:02:55.000 And then another culture stack as it were.
00:02:58.000 During the summer I'll probably switch back to my culture stack that is the ancient world.
00:03:02.000 Like the Hellenic world.
00:03:04.000 And start to emulate those ideals.
00:03:06.000 Train more aesthetically.
00:03:08.000 Which basically means that I'll be copying more.
00:03:11.000 And try to be lean.
00:03:13.000 And try to get in that kind of mode.
00:03:16.000 You know, watch Troy read some of those books for example.
00:03:20.000 Like this is an example of a book if I'm in that cultural mode.
00:03:24.000 And then also Rome as well.
00:03:26.000 Then you can watch like Spartacus and stuff like that.
00:03:29.000 So basically my point with a culture stack is that you take different things.
00:03:35.000 Put them together to get in the mode of things.
00:03:38.000 Now as it is spring.
00:03:40.000 For me spring time has always been like fucking go time.
00:03:44.000 And also actually with that, with this time period.
00:03:48.000 So.
00:03:49.000 And then during the summer it's more like the Hellenic world.
00:03:52.000 So I'm trying to create a culture stack.
00:03:54.000 To motivate myself.
00:03:55.000 To you know, make life more fun.
00:03:57.000 And always have that motivation in the gym.
00:04:00.000 So now I'm fucking pumped up to train strong man.
00:04:03.000 And to get strong.
00:04:04.000 And you know, be a brutal fucking beast.
00:04:07.000 And then when summer comes.
00:04:09.000 I'm thinking about four.
00:04:11.000 I'm gonna look like Achilles now.
00:04:13.000 So basically to conclude.
00:04:14.000 I take different cultural things.
00:04:16.000 Like books, music, films, TV series, gaming.
00:04:22.000 And put them together and create the motivation in life and in gym.
00:04:26.000 It becomes fucking, you know, great fun as fuck.
00:04:29.000 Like at least for me.
00:04:30.000 So that's a motivational thing I use right there.
00:04:34.000 So right now, glory to the Allfather.
00:04:36.000 That cultural stack is what I'm about right now.
00:04:39.000 So I just wanted to share that with you all.
00:04:41.000 If you like the video, please leave a comment or a like.
00:04:45.000 Means the world to me.
00:04:47.000 And who am I?
00:04:49.000 I'm the Lion of the North XXO.
00:04:51.000 Boom.
