00:00:00.400 Greetings my esteemed audience. We are checking in from good old Lithuania, from the illustrious
00:00:08.080 nation of Lithuania. Now this is the mighty castle of Trakai. I've actually been here before,
00:00:14.640 I decided to return to it to absorb some epic energies. Now we'll return to said castle in
00:00:22.880 but a moment, but first a message from the sponsor of this video. And the only reasonable
00:00:28.480 course of action is to sponsor it via legiogloria.com. This is also the very reason I visited
00:00:36.080 Lithuania, to plan and design coming releases. Speaking of which, we have just had four new
00:00:42.960 absolutely aesthetic releases, 100% marine wool, again made in Lithuania. So do head over to the 0.96
00:00:49.440 homepage and check them out. It is the good stuff, I am very happy and proud to present them. So do
00:00:56.640 head over to legiogloria.com and see if you find anything that you like in particular.
00:01:03.440 Now back to the video. First stop on our little journey is the Lithuanian Museum of Ethnocosmology.
00:01:10.560 Shout out to Aki Sederberi, who wrote about it in his excellent book Holy Europe. I wrote a review on it,
00:01:18.240 you should definitely read my review and then read the book itself. So the museum was unfortunately
00:01:24.320 closed by the time I got here. My flight came in too late, I'm afraid, but I could stroll around
00:01:29.840 on the grounds at least and absorb the mystical energies. So the stones, they were surrounded by
00:01:37.280 planets. So our solar system is quite epic indeed. So what you see before you is a stone formation and
00:01:45.520 then just in a circle around it are our esteemed planets. And they also had some nice wooden statues
00:01:54.800 of Lithuanian spirits and gods and I decided to pray ever so quickly because if I gain a lot of power
00:02:03.760 the Lithuanian people will benefit from it as will all European peoples. So it can always be good to
00:02:09.760 communicate in a respectful manner if you go to a place and you encounter some some spirits or gods.
00:02:16.320 So this is me paying my respects. Now onto a somewhat similar topic. I thought to mention
00:02:22.640 to anyone in Lithuania, if you have a position of influence and power, please do change your flag
00:02:28.960 into this one. This is epic, beautiful and heroic. This flag however, it's not particularly epic at all.
00:02:36.400 It tells me nothing. It gives me absolutely no sensations of anything. So the beautiful flag,
00:02:42.000 which you see before you right now, this is a source of pride. It tells a great story worthy of respect
00:02:48.160 and admiration.
00:02:57.760 So
00:03:09.200 We'll be right back.
00:03:39.200 We'll be right back.
00:04:09.200 Now, before getting back to Trakai, I thought to ever so briefly mention this fine church
00:04:19.980 you see before you right now.
00:04:21.920 If I pronounce it correctly, it's the Passaislis Monastery and Church.
00:04:27.040 If any Lithuanian is watching this, please correct me in the comment section, just in
00:04:31.240 case my pronunciation is off.
00:04:33.240 So, an esoteric observation when visiting this fine church, by the way, it's built in 1664,
00:04:41.840 so a few centuries after the conversion to Christianity.
00:04:45.720 So, if I compare this church, just the feels of it, to a church in Spain, for example.
00:04:51.820 I've visited my fair share of churches in Spain.
00:04:54.880 There's a completely different feel, and I would say there's a certain lack of enthusiasm.
00:04:59.600 And I do believe, and take this with a pinch of salt, I'm just speculating this is only
00:05:04.840 an esoteric take.
00:05:06.900 There is a certain lack of enthusiasm in this particular church because of the nature of
00:05:12.740 Lithuania's conversion to Christianity.
00:05:15.080 It wasn't done willingly, as you probably know, the Teutonic Order, they fought hard
00:05:21.100 against the Lithuanians, and they used the lack of Christianity of the Lithuanians as
00:05:27.300 a cause for war.
00:05:29.660 So, Lithuania, the nation in Europe that held out the longest against Christianity.
00:05:35.160 So, anyway, the church itself, it's aesthetic and nice and so, but again, I sense, only speaking
00:05:41.900 esoterically now, so this is not a historical fact I'm presenting, I'm just presenting my
00:05:47.020 own interpretation of the spirits of the place.
00:05:49.920 So, yes, we are schizomaxing a bit.
00:05:51.880 Usually, I keep the schizomaxing to the podcast, but now I wanted to mention it at least, and
00:05:57.220 related to this is that Christianity, it doesn't quite fit with the Lithuanian soul, I must 1.00
00:06:03.080 say.
00:06:03.280 But, again, that's only my own esoteric interpretation of the situation.
00:06:07.800 And here is me at a mighty oak, a venerable old oak, which stands 21 meters tall.
00:06:15.780 So, it's actually named, also, it's named the Oak of the Hill of Peace.
00:06:20.220 So, I do, I do like a good oak.
00:06:23.860 Oaks and birches, my favorite trees.
00:06:27.080 And now, we return to the magnificent island castle of Trakai.
00:06:31.520 The construction began in the 14th century by Duke Castutis and was finished around 1409
00:06:38.960 by the main character of our story, the gentleman you see before you now, Vitautas the Great.
00:06:45.960 Now, the reason he is such a legendary figure, the reason he is the main character of the story,
00:06:51.360 perhaps one of the main characters of Lithuanian history, and a man of significance for all
00:06:59.600 of Eastern Europe, or even all of Europe.
00:07:01.880 He led Lithuania when they banded together with Poland to fight against the Teutonic Order
00:07:08.520 during the Battle of Grunwald in 1410, also known as the Battle of Tannenberg.
00:07:14.240 So, that was a pivotal moment in the history of the Teutonic Order, which lost, as you probably
00:07:22.140 know, and saw the rise, or the continued rise, of Lithuania and Poland when they could cement
00:07:28.700 their authority over the region.
00:07:31.400 And then, of course, as you also probably know, they entered into a union known as the
00:07:36.620 Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, and that was in 1569.
00:07:40.980 So, a while later than the battles against the Teutonic Order.
00:07:46.460 Interesting stuff, for sure.
00:07:48.580 And here we see an aesthetic window of the aforementioned Vitautas the Great.
00:07:54.480 So, when you visit Tracai Castle, you can see the, yeah, again, the main character energy
00:08:00.560 of this fine gentleman.
00:08:02.120 Speaking of the story of the region, we must not forget one of the main antagonists of the
00:08:08.620 various powers in Eastern Europe.
00:08:10.540 So, we have, first and foremost, the Mongols, and then also the Tatars. 0.99
00:08:14.980 So, here we see a small exhibition showing some Tatar culture and aesthetic.
00:08:20.220 So, the Tatars are an enemy of the Poles and Lithuanians and the Russians. 0.56
00:08:25.920 So, in the dynamic of Eastern Europe at the time, the Tatars, they played a significant role, 0.90
00:08:32.320 as did the Mongols. 0.64
00:08:33.640 Now, you might wonder how I first got interested in the history of the region.
00:08:37.680 It's quite close to Sweden to begin with, but it also has to do with the fact that I played
00:08:42.400 Medieval Total War 2, the Teutonic campaign.
00:08:46.080 So, then I got further acquainted with it, and ever since then, I have had a certain interest.
00:08:52.320 And, of course, the Teutonic Knights are aesthetically cool, and they're really good in Age of Empires 2.
00:08:58.740 So, there's that.
00:09:00.300 So, anyway, all that said, I just wanted to check in from my little trip.
00:09:05.560 Hopefully, you found the video somewhat nice, at least.
00:09:09.420 And, yeah, thank you for watching, and thank you for your support.
00:09:13.560 Do check out all the links in the description box.
00:09:16.000 If you are watching on YouTube, perhaps you're watching this on X,
00:09:20.160 then there is no description box, but I'm sure you can find all of the relevant links nonetheless.
00:09:25.680 You can go to thegoldenone.se, and there you have all of the links.
00:09:30.160 So, anyway, thanks again for watching, and I will see you in the next video.
00:09:34.260 XFXO, boom!
