00:00:00.960 Hello lads, welcome back to the Wednesday Patreon Q&A.
00:00:05.320 First question of the day is from my man, Liam.
00:00:09.460 Now, big shout out to Liam, as you can see on this picture he is highly testosteroneous.
00:00:15.580 And he asks, what do you wish you knew when you first started lifting?
00:00:20.560 The short answer is, I wish I knew how to properly squat, deadlift, bench press and military press.
00:00:28.140 And that is also my main advice to many of you.
00:00:32.920 So, what you should do is go to a gym, preferably a powerlifting gym.
00:00:39.300 Get a personal trainer there and get 3 or 4 private sessions where he goes through the motion and teaches you how to do it properly.
00:00:48.640 So you know from the beginning and then you just train at getting a good technique.
00:00:52.660 When the technique is good enough, then you can start your ascent upwatch.
00:00:56.120 Just, you know, adding weight, adhering to a progression schedule.
00:01:00.220 Now for me, I was extremely fortunate in that I had my glorious brother, massive shout out, who wrote me a schedule when I first started lifting.
00:01:09.420 He made a handwritten note for me on a paper with the whole schedule.
00:01:15.740 So I utilized that, had it in my pocket the entire time.
00:01:18.640 So yeah, absolutely glorious.
00:01:21.520 And that is obviously something I recommend as well, to have a progression plan going forward.
00:01:26.720 So you just don't go into the gym and do whatever you feel like.
00:01:29.680 So to answer the question, I wish I knew how to deadlift, squat, bench press, overhead press.
00:01:37.260 And from the beginning, because I've spent so much time just, you know, tweaking my bench press technique, tweaking my deadlift technique or squat technique.
00:01:45.800 And obviously you can't expect to nail the technique on, you know, a few private sessions or whatever.
00:01:51.820 But it can be a start at least.
00:01:53.560 I wish I had done that.
00:01:54.600 And now obviously I can't offer such a service now because I'm always at different places, etc.
00:02:00.940 But in the future, maybe it would be a fun thing to do some private training in the flesh, so to speak.
00:02:07.900 But until then, find some sort of local powerlifting gym and ask someone who has good numbers and good mass to show you.
00:02:16.700 Because the personal trainers at commercial gyms, they are usually in need of a personal trainer themselves.
00:02:23.000 And they have some sort of certificate from a week-long education and then they get their diploma saying that they have completed the course.
00:02:30.700 But, you know, for me, I trust the guys who've been putting in the intensity and the pressure over a long period of time.
00:02:36.200 Who has, you know, perfected their technique and who has, you know, the mass and strength to show for it.
00:02:42.100 So that is my main recommendation.
00:02:44.180 If you're new in the gym, learn the basic heavy compound movements as soon as possible and as well as possible.
00:02:50.980 And then the next step is, adhere to a plan of progression so you know exactly what to do in the gym.
00:02:58.020 So you just don't do whatever you feel like for the day because if you don't know that you're progressing,
00:03:03.760 you can't know that the body is being forced to getting juicier.
00:03:07.980 So that is the answer to that very good question.
00:03:13.000 Now the second question is, do you have any lifting advice for plateauing?
00:03:17.120 Carbohydrates is your friend when it comes to breaking stalls.
00:03:23.160 So you just view carbohydrates as fuel for the body, just as faith is fuel for the soul.
00:03:30.020 That's in my favorite quote.
00:03:31.660 So utilize the carbohydrates as a means to increase the power of your body, basically.
00:03:41.640 You load up with ammunition in your weapons so you can become more powerful.
00:03:48.700 So view carbohydrates that way.
00:03:51.380 So if you want to get like massive, juicy, don't go with this low carb thing.
00:03:58.760 It's not good.
00:03:59.900 In my humble view, at least, I view carbohydrates as a primary source to break stalls to ensure your progression in the gym.
00:04:07.180 Especially in the pushing exercises.
00:04:08.880 So if we're talking about the bench press or the military press, add some extra carbohydrates.
00:04:13.160 Long story short, carbohydrates is your way to break stalls.
00:04:16.780 Then there was obviously some other glorious questions, which I aim to answer at a later time.
00:04:22.620 One was in regards to my thoughts on Julius Evola.
00:04:26.320 I've talked a bit about him before, but I'll do a separate video on what I like with him and what I don't like with him at a separate stage.
00:04:34.080 Now, lastly, if you do appreciate my videos, if you do appreciate this particular channel,
00:04:40.080 I would very much indeed appreciate it if you sign up to become a Patreon in the link, the first link in the description.
00:04:47.200 And the point is to give one septim a month from a lot of different guys.
00:04:51.980 That is the point of these kind of services.
00:04:54.480 So that would be awesome indeed.
00:04:56.500 And then obviously, if I don't answer your question in the Wednesday Q&A,
00:05:00.600 it's usually because I get an idea for a coming video or because I need to think more about it.
00:05:06.140 So, to conclude the questions for this video,
00:05:12.440 learn the basic compound movements and break stalls with carbohydrates.
00:05:18.840 XXO.
00:05:19.700 Boom.
