The most magnificent building in the world, even though it doesn't exist anymore, is present in the game, Assassin's Creed Origins. And it's pretty cool that we can visit this building in this day and age.

00:00:00.240 Greetings and salutations, my dear legionaries. Today I thought to recommend a book that my friend Elessar, Elessar Music, recommended to me.
00:00:12.460 So I read The Darkening Age, The Christian Destruction of the Classical World, a while back, and I found it quite interesting and well-written. 0.88
00:00:21.860 It isn't overly anti-Christian, it just brings to light some events during the centuries after the birth of Christ that can be interesting to behold when talking about the Christian and classical legacy of Europe.
00:00:40.880 And one thing in particular I thought was very interesting, and that is in chapter 6, the most magnificent building in the world.
00:00:52.780 And apparently we can actually go to this building in this day and age, even though it doesn't exist anymore.
00:01:00.860 And that is the Temple of Serapis in Alexandria.
00:01:04.780 So, let's head on into Alexandria in Assassin's Creed Origins.
00:01:12.000 So here we see my aesthetic character being out and about in Alexandria.
00:01:18.520 So we are actually at the reconstructed Temple of Serapis.
00:01:22.220 Now, in the book, The Autor, she describes how the Christians decided to tear down this Temple of False Worship. 1.00
00:01:35.880 And obviously quite a tragic thing when magnificent buildings are disappearing like this under religious intolerance.
00:01:47.500 So, anyway, I thought to just show this building here and now, and I think it's really cool.
00:01:54.720 Tips Pickle Haube to Ubisoft for including it in the game.
00:01:59.220 I thought it was a really neat detail, especially since figuring out that this building was actually present in the game.
00:02:06.320 So, now you have hopefully learned something new.
00:02:08.900 That the most magnificent building, and the author in the book, she elaborates quite a bit upon it.
00:02:16.760 So, now you know it existed, but it does not exist anymore.
00:02:21.560 And it might be prudent in this day and age, when Notre Dame has just almost been destroyed,
00:02:28.860 that we can appreciate ancient and beautiful buildings.
00:02:32.780 And then lastly, since we are already in Assassin's Creed Origins, I thought to quickly recommend the game.
00:02:41.140 I think it is much better than Odyssey, even though I made the Let's Play series in Odyssey.
00:02:46.640 But I played the whole game, and I must say I'm not overly impressed, especially compared with how good Origins was.
00:02:53.240 So, definitely, if you haven't played Assassin's Creed Origins, you should do so.
00:02:58.680 It captures the feel perfectly, and it's a very beautiful game.
00:03:03.160 And additional points for including this fine temple.
00:03:08.520 So, anyway, I just thought to make a short video illuminating you to this fact.
00:03:13.940 And, yeah, I wish you all a good day ahead.
00:03:17.720 And if you do want to check out the book, it is an interesting read.
00:03:22.240 So, yeah, thanks for watching, XXO.
00:03:25.480 Boom.
