00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody, and welcome to The Great America Show.
00:00:03.120 Lou Dobbs here, and delighted you're with us.
00:00:05.880 We finally heard today from the president no one in his or her right mind would ever believe.
00:00:11.680 Almost two weeks after that first balloon was detected, four balloons shot down since February 4th.
00:00:18.840 And if he got anything right with his remarks today, it was purely, in my judgment, by accident.
00:00:24.520 He said nothing about the balloons that was verifiable or specific,
00:00:28.720 and his purpose seemed to be to absolve China of any culpability.
00:00:34.420 Biden said he isn't looking for a cold war with China, and isn't that a relief?
00:00:40.020 And then a reporter asked if he's compromised by family business in China.
00:00:45.040 He said, give me a break, in true Biden style.
00:00:49.780 Lovely. What a leader the impaired puppet president is.
00:00:53.200 It's truly sad to watch Biden and the corporatist-owned media play pretend games with one another.
00:00:59.920 Sad, too, the Biden administration's silence on the Palestine-Ohio derailment two weeks ago.
00:01:06.660 Governor DeWine says he asked FEMA for help, but the Biden regime said they couldn't help
00:01:12.200 because the derailment didn't destroy their houses.
00:01:14.700 Even though many of the homes are contaminated with hazardous chemicals released in that crash,
00:01:21.720 the groundwater affected as well.
00:01:24.420 We did just a quick check here on the Great America Show on other derailments,
00:01:28.760 and I think you'll be as surprised as I was.
00:01:31.780 16 by our count, 16 derailments since the beginning of the year.
00:01:36.400 A truck crashed two days ago spilling hazardous chemicals in Tucson.
00:01:40.420 And yesterday, another Norfolk Southern train also carrying hazardous chemicals derailed outside Detroit.
00:01:47.640 No reports of any leaks there, mercifully.
00:01:51.020 You'd be forgiven if you actually thought the country was suddenly under some kind of assault.
00:01:55.840 Balloons, train derailments, and truck crashes,
00:01:59.120 and two F-16 jets had to be scrambled to intercept Russian MiG fighters and two bombers Thursday.
00:02:05.960 We're being tested, all right, folks, and don't doubt it will continue.
00:02:09.820 In one form or another, at our borders, our airspace, at sea, and from within.
00:02:16.000 The Marxist Dems have become a fifth column in this country,
00:02:19.700 and they're running the government and the country into the ground.
00:02:23.100 For example, Biden today ordered all federal agencies to produce an equity action plan
00:02:29.620 and use huge sums of federal money to carry it out.
00:02:33.500 His executive order directed the OMB to reserve money, billions and billions of dollars, money in the budget.
00:02:42.500 But there is no budget, which by law should already have been delivered.
00:02:47.560 Domestic policy or foreign.
00:02:49.960 This is a mess under this Biden regime.
00:02:53.440 And it's important for all of us to remember, this president is outright illegitimate.
00:02:58.640 He won the election through the interference of the Marxist Dems, the deep state,
00:03:03.960 and an attorney general who knew Biden was lying about Hunter's laptop and refused to intervene.
00:03:10.800 The combination of all that and more changed history.
00:03:15.720 Fortunately, some states are trying to protect their voters and their election systems,
00:03:20.280 and Alabama is among them.
00:03:22.460 Alabama's secretary of state campaigned on electoral integrity, and he won.
00:03:27.520 His name is Wes Allen, and he's hard at work early in his first year in office
00:03:32.060 and has already withdrawn the state of Alabama from the voter registration group called ERIC.
00:03:38.160 He wants the state to maintain control of their elections
00:03:41.160 and all the data that belongs to the state's voters.
00:03:45.200 Secretary of State Wes Allen, great to have you with us here on The Great America Show.
00:03:49.840 Congratulations on your election.
00:03:51.920 First, how does that feel?
00:03:53.920 Yes, sir.
00:03:54.560 That was our first official act in office, and I campaigned for 18 months all over our great state,
00:03:59.540 all 67 counties.
00:04:01.080 And one thing I heard loud and clear from the people of Alabama as I traveled all over
00:04:05.760 was that they want safe, secure, and transparent elections.
00:04:09.120 Alabama does a very good job as it pertains to our elections process.
00:04:13.600 And so I heard it from north to south, east to west, all over Alabama.
00:04:19.140 And when I brought up the issue of ERIC, it was very concerning to the people.
00:04:24.820 And, of course, I was elected on November the 8th, 2022, and one of my promises was that
00:04:30.640 I was going to withdraw us from ERIC and get us out and manage our own voter registration
00:04:36.320 here in the state of Alabama.
00:04:37.720 And that's what we've done.
00:04:38.520 A number of states, over 30 states, use ERIC.
00:04:44.500 And that includes all sorts of personal information about voters.
00:04:49.480 What was your reason for wanting to do that, withdraw immediately from ERIC?
00:04:55.160 Well, you know, every 60 days, all of our driver's license information is downloaded to ERIC,
00:05:03.640 which is a private, out-of-state group.
00:05:06.840 And I just don't feel, I feel that our information does not need to be going to this private,
00:05:12.780 out-of-state group that's, you know, not one of those groups that, you know,
00:05:19.320 the states don't have an everyday way to monitor what's going on with ERIC.
00:05:26.780 No auditability there.
00:05:28.920 And so your name, your date of birth, partial Social Security, other information,
00:05:34.220 your email address is going to this private, out-of-state group.
00:05:38.380 And one of the most concerning things, Lou, that we saw and we found is that information
00:05:44.260 from children, minors, those who are not yet 18, is going to ERIC as well.
00:05:49.400 And so that's a major red flag.
00:05:50.920 And when we would explain that, it would have great concern on,
00:05:58.440 the voters would have great concern over what ERIC was.
00:06:02.980 Well, I can imagine certainly why they would have that concern.
00:06:08.140 And I know that a number of secretaries of state across the country have expressed that concern.
00:06:15.540 There have been, in my opinion, very slow to react to those concerns, that is, do what you have done,
00:06:22.320 which is to withdraw the state from ERIC.
00:06:25.160 And I want to commend you for doing so.
00:06:27.820 I just believe that it's, to me, it's irrespective.
00:06:31.500 And I'll do this on a number of levels when I explain my position.
00:06:36.780 And that is, one, I believe that the states should have absolute control over their voter information
00:06:43.160 and certainly their DMV information.
00:06:46.540 There's just no excuse in the world to me to be sharing that kind of information, as you say,
00:06:51.220 particularly with minors.
00:06:52.600 But so many states have done it, and I don't see the cost savings.
00:06:56.320 Maybe you could explain to me and this audience why 30 states or a handful more are going with this outfit called ERIC.
00:07:07.520 Why can't they do it themselves, and why wouldn't it be better to have that control?
00:07:12.420 Well, that's a great question, Lou, one that I don't have the answer to, but why other states are doing it.
00:07:17.560 But as far as Alabama is concerned, we're going to take back control over our voter registration.
00:07:23.080 And there's a misconception out there, Lou, that we have some computer or some server sitting in our office here
00:07:28.620 in the state of Alabama, in my office, that where we can check our information or check Georgia's information
00:07:36.400 or check these other states that are a part of ERIC and compare them to each other.
00:07:41.720 And that's just not the case.
00:07:42.960 So we send the data or have been sending the data, the driver's license information,
00:07:48.700 and ERIC runs their algorithms and sends us the information back.
00:07:52.840 And so that's the way Alabama has received the information before.
00:07:58.240 And so we feel like that we can manage our voter registration and we can do a good job with it.
00:08:03.060 And, you know, I'm a former probate judge, Lou.
00:08:05.060 Probate judges in the state of Alabama are the chief elections official in their respective counties of Alabama.
00:08:11.820 And so we've got lots of experience running elections.
00:08:14.880 You know, we've got lots of relationships.
00:08:16.180 And that's really what this is about, is about relationships with those probate judges, circuit clerks, sheriffs,
00:08:22.400 boards of registrars, all throughout the state of Alabama.
00:08:25.660 And that philosophy is to work closely with them and to give them the tools and resources,
00:08:30.640 training that they need to execute the election laws of the state of Alabama
00:08:34.480 and to make sure we have safe, secure, and transparent elections.
00:08:38.320 And when you look at this situation across the country,
00:08:44.660 you can hardly say that ERIC deserves a lot of credit for anything
00:08:48.080 because the state after state has election problems of immense proportions,
00:08:53.880 whether it is Arizona, whether it is Wisconsin, Michigan, and the list goes on.
00:09:02.240 Give us, if you will, a sense of what ERIC's response was when the organization response when you withdrew.
00:09:10.240 Well, I haven't talked with anybody from ERIC directly.
00:09:15.240 We have received some emails.
00:09:17.920 Our general counsel is corresponding with ERIC and their leadership
00:09:22.560 to make sure that the withdrawal is complete in April.
00:09:28.540 And why would it not be, I guess is the question I would have.
00:09:32.560 You just simply shut down your transmission of data, and their part's over, isn't it?
00:09:40.880 Yeah, correct.
00:09:42.020 But per the contract, it takes 90 days to fully withdraw.
00:09:46.500 And everything, we fully expect everything is going to go fine with the withdrawal.
00:09:52.400 Yeah, I was getting at whether or not they were resisting this.
00:09:56.580 No, no.
00:09:57.480 Yeah, they didn't put up any resistance on that.
00:10:02.180 And in withdrawing, do you have, you've been campaigning for a year and a half.
00:10:08.300 You've got, you had obviously a clear vision of what you wanted to do.
00:10:12.660 Is this going to cost the state of Alabama any more money, much more manpower have to be allocated
00:10:19.800 because you withdrew from ERIC?
00:10:22.880 No, we don't think so.
00:10:24.360 We're prepared to partner with state agencies all across, you know, the state government
00:10:31.560 with ALEA, which is the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, which is, you know, oversees the DMV
00:10:37.620 and our driver's license.
00:10:38.860 We're looking into using the Social Security Death Index, using and utilizing the United States
00:10:47.060 Postal Service change of address.
00:10:48.680 So we're looking at a plethora of avenues to make sure that we maintain and have the cleanest
00:10:56.040 voter rolls in the country.
00:10:57.800 Because listen, it all starts with the voter rolls.
00:11:00.260 You know, if you don't have a good voter registration, it's not going to go well for you.
00:11:05.480 So we're, we are committed to making sure, you know, our elections are safe, secure and
00:11:10.260 transparent.
00:11:10.780 And that starts with clean voter rolls.
00:11:12.220 You bet.
00:11:13.240 And the, the other secretaries of state around the country, I'm sure are watching Alabama
00:11:19.480 to see how this goes, those folks.
00:11:23.040 And you just raised two issues there with the U.S. Postal Service, getting that information,
00:11:30.200 also getting Social Security information on deaths.
00:11:32.840 That, that brings the information to you.
00:11:37.460 It keeps it in your control against what you can match to see if, about the quality of your,
00:11:43.260 of your voter rolls.
00:11:44.480 That's got to feel pretty good to know you're in charge of the data instead of someone else
00:11:49.260 like Eric.
00:11:50.560 Yes, sir.
00:11:51.180 And, and, you know, like I said before, you know, traveling all over the state, especially
00:11:57.340 given to what we saw in 2020, Lou, going on around the country and other states, people,
00:12:01.840 people are very observant, especially the voters in Alabama and, and they want to make
00:12:06.780 sure that our elections are going to stay strong and secure.
00:12:11.080 And I heard again, loud and clear that one, we want paper ballots.
00:12:15.340 We want to keep paper ballots.
00:12:16.740 We want to make sure that our machines are never connected to the internet or never have
00:12:20.260 any capability of being connected to the internet or any Bluetooth capability that they want
00:12:27.760 to make sure that we have election day and not election month.
00:12:30.780 And we heard that loud and clear.
00:12:32.240 And that's what we're going to do in Alabama.
00:12:34.220 Well, good for you.
00:12:35.140 And is that effective immediately?
00:12:36.720 Is that effective this year?
00:12:39.560 Oh, well, listen, we're going to be making sure that we have a good legislative agenda set
00:12:45.300 forth to where we already have paper ballots, but we're going to put that in state law.
00:12:50.640 And we already have the capability or we already have in Alabama to where our machines cannot
00:12:56.300 be connected to the internet, but we want to put that in state law and state statute to
00:13:00.480 further strengthen that.
00:13:02.180 And then we'll be watching against any kind of legislation that would weaken our elections
00:13:09.040 here in the state of Alabama.
00:13:10.140 So we're going to stay vigilant.
00:13:12.100 Well, I'm going to say again, good for you and good for the state of Alabama.
00:13:16.780 Uh, and voter identification, everyone in the country seems to want it except for the federal
00:13:24.860 government, uh, and elements of the, of the Democrat party.
00:13:29.360 Uh, your thoughts on that?
00:13:31.320 Well, photo voter identification is a must.
00:13:35.100 We can't back up one inch on that.
00:13:36.660 We must keep it, uh, and make sure that we do not have any kind of voter fraud at the polls.
00:13:42.240 Uh, I think if you look at, uh, the polling on that, uh, particular issue, it's very, very
00:13:47.560 high, not only among conservatives, but, but also among those in the Democratic party as well.
00:13:52.680 So people want to make sure that when they walk in and they present that ID, they say who they, they show, they say they are.
00:13:59.400 And we're committed to making sure that we don't back up an inch on photo identification and keeping photo voter identification.
00:14:05.900 It's a must to prevent fraud on election day.
00:14:09.520 I have to say, Wes, in listening to you, you've got control of your voter rolls.
00:14:15.200 You've got, uh, you're not allowing access from anyone else to the information, uh, the voter information, the information about your citizens and including, and perhaps most especially, uh, minor children.
00:14:29.400 Uh, uh, getting that data to them, uh, this, and you've got voter identification, paper ballots, and, uh, only other area I can ask you about, and you've already said that you're not, you're going to keep having election days, not months, uh, in the great state of Alabama.
00:14:47.500 The only other question I would have is, do you have central, uh, counting or do you have precinct counting?
00:14:54.140 How does that work?
00:14:56.060 Yeah.
00:14:56.300 So, uh, in Alabama, like for instance, in Pike County, where I was the probate judge, we had precincts.
00:15:01.680 Uh, we had 34 actual precincts.
00:15:05.320 And then the 35th precinct, that last precinct was what we call provisional, uh, voting, provisional ballots.
00:15:11.960 Um, but everywhere is set up in a precinct style.
00:15:15.220 Uh, so they go to their, they go, they're drawn out in lines or every 10 years.
00:15:20.140 And when we do the census and new redistricting, and so it's a set up in a precinct style voting.
00:15:25.080 And you've, uh, you've not had problems as a result because, uh, states around the, as you well know, states around the country who've gone to central, uh, voting that is bringing in to one, one massive data center, uh, accounting center, tabulation center.
00:15:46.200 Uh, it's just, it's just rife with, uh, the potential for corruption.
00:15:52.980 You're thinking?
00:15:53.880 Yeah.
00:15:55.080 Yeah, so, like, again, we, we do it right in Alabama and, you know, I've got relationships and know a bunch of our probate judges all over our state and those circuit clerks that attend to our absentee, uh, balloting and, of course, the shares, which are in charge of the custody of the returns and custody of the ballots and record record of elections.
00:16:13.980 Uh, so, uh, you know, they do a good job and we.
00:16:18.180 Count those ballots at the end of the night when the polls close at 7 o'clock and then those counties all throughout Alabama.
00:16:24.820 Send those returns back to the Secretary of State's office and the good thing about Alabama, unless it's just an extremely, extremely close election within a few votes, you're going to know who wins and loses on election night in Alabama.
00:16:37.260 Well, that's wonderful.
00:16:39.260 And I'm, I can tell you everybody, I'm sure in Pennsylvania and, uh, Georgia and Wisconsin and Michigan and, uh, and many other states would love to have the Alabama system working for them.
00:16:54.140 Uh, and, uh, and, uh, I, I think that, uh, people of Alabama got to be thrilled with, uh, what they've gotten, uh, what you're preserving here.
00:17:02.680 Uh, so, uh, again, our congratulations.
00:17:06.980 I want to get your sense on the intervention though, uh, into state systems of, uh, of both, uh, balloting and counting.
00:17:17.520 Uh, the federal government seems to be intent on getting control and influence over elections as are a number of, uh, NGOs and not for profits funded by various people, including the dreaded name, George Soros.
00:17:32.120 Uh, but I'm talking about all of them, uh, is it your sense that the American people are winning against those intentions or are we losing?
00:17:43.560 Well, Lou, the good thing in Alabama is, is that last year in the last legislative session, uh, I was in the legislature for a term for four years and I sponsored the bill to ban the Zuckerberg dollars coming in those private dollars coming into Alabama.
00:17:59.980 Uh, and, uh, we got that bill across the finish line because we believe that private dollars did not need to be going into public offices to quote unquote, help them, uh, run our elections.
00:18:11.900 And so, uh, we're very proud of that, that piece of legislation that governor Ivey signed into law, uh, last this past year in 2022, and it protects, uh, our elections process.
00:18:23.280 We don't need to start down that road of letting private dollars come into public offices.
00:18:28.080 One of the main things that government needs to do and should do well is run elections.
00:18:33.320 Amen.
00:18:34.160 Amen.
00:18:35.600 Wes, I'd like to say how much, uh, I enjoyed talking with you and I appreciate you sharing your, your, your thinking, uh, with, uh, our audience.
00:18:44.900 We appreciate it.
00:18:46.080 Uh, we always give our guests the last word on this show.
00:18:48.980 And so if you will, you're concluding thoughts here today.
00:18:52.180 Well, I would just like to, uh, just thank you Lou for having me on today.
00:18:56.880 I appreciate the opportunity to come on and have a discussion with you about our elections and why it's important and why we must make sure that we do everything we can, um, to.
00:19:07.440 First of all, make sure we have elections on election day and not election month.
00:19:11.100 We always have paper ballots.
00:19:12.700 Our machines will never be connected to the internet.
00:19:14.940 Those things are important.
00:19:15.880 And once you start letting, um, letting that get out of your control, like we've seen in some other states, things can go bad in a hurry.
00:19:24.500 And so no mass mail balloting in Alabama and all these other things that you see in some other states, uh, we're going to stand strong in Alabama with the help of our legislature and our governor and here in the secretary of state's office.
00:19:37.020 Uh, and also with the help of our local elected officials, like I said earlier, those probate judges, circuit clerks and sheriffs and boards of registrars, uh, people make the difference.
00:19:45.640 And, uh, and, uh, I look forward to working with them in the years to come.
00:19:49.960 Well, I'm sure that, uh, that's a, a mutual feeling on the part of those, uh, those officials.
00:19:55.380 Uh, Mr. Secretary of state, Wes Allen, we thank you for being with us here on the great America show.
00:20:01.860 Thanks for all you're doing for the great people of Alabama.
00:20:04.400 The example you're setting for everyone in this country.
00:20:07.200 Thanks so much.
00:20:08.340 God bless you.
00:20:09.320 Yes, sir.
00:20:10.280 Thank you, Lou.
00:20:10.840 I appreciate it.
00:20:11.960 Thanks everybody for being with us here.
