00:00:30.000 Hello, everybody. I'm Lou Dobbs, and this is The Great America Show. Welcome. Great to have you
00:00:35.360 with us today. There's a new metaphor for our political chaos in the United States.
00:00:41.280 It's a volcano in central Mexico, less than an hour from the capital, Mexico City.
00:00:46.920 It's threatening 22 million people. Three million are now on alert to evacuate.
00:00:53.320 The eruption is getting stronger. The volcano rumbling, creating geysers of steam and ash,
00:00:58.600 rattling, thundering, rock blasting from its throat, crashing down over lava,
00:01:03.920 flowing out over the rim, and red-hot gravel falling from the sky above the summit.
00:01:09.320 Steam and ash spewing from the volcano's throat, and geologists say they can't predict what happens
00:01:16.160 next. In our capital city, frayed nerves as well. A new whistleblower has emerged. New documents sent
00:01:24.220 to Congress this week reveal a second IRS whistleblower has come forward with new information
00:01:30.900 on the Department of Justice probe of Hunter Biden's tax fraud case. This new whistleblower,
00:01:37.420 the second IRS whistleblower, is a special agent in the IRS International Tax and Financial Crimes
00:01:44.540 Division. The whistleblower alleges that two of Joe Biden's appointees at the Department of Justice
00:01:51.260 interfered in the IRS investigation, trying to block charges against Hunter Biden for tax violations.
00:01:59.520 They, along with another whistleblower, are expected to appear Friday before the House Ways and Means
00:02:05.180 Committee, where they will testify about the rampant corruption at the DOJ, and what they know about
00:02:12.340 interference in the investigation of the president's son. Meanwhile, a Marxist-dim, New York Judge
00:02:19.820 Juan Merchant, is presiding over the Trump's Stormy Daniels case and has set a trial date now. And as
00:02:27.420 expected, his choice of date for the beginning of that trial, highly political. The date right in the
00:02:34.540 midst of the presidential primary season. March 25th, 2024. President Trump is said to be livid,
00:02:42.340 outraged at what is classic judicial intervention in the electoral process. And I believe this is clear-cut.
00:02:49.660 Election interference by a judge. I don't know what else it could be called. And speaking of the 2024
00:02:56.080 election, we're expecting Governor Ron DeSantis to make clear his presidential aspirations.
00:03:02.640 The governor expected to announce at 6 30 p.m. on Twitter with Elon Musk that he's running for the
00:03:09.840 2024 Republican presidential nomination. We take that up with our guest today, Congressman Corey Mills of
00:03:17.620 the great state of Florida. We'll get Congressman Mills' reaction to it all. DeSantis facing an uphill
00:03:23.120 battle, even with big money from the likes of Elon Musk. The latest polling for morning consult has
00:03:30.020 President Trump beating DeSantis by nearly 40 points in a primary. And real clear politics has Trump up 37
00:03:38.320 points. A long road ahead for the GOP nomination. Joining us now, Congressman Corey Mills,
00:03:45.120 who represents Florida's seventh congressional district. He sits on the House Armed Services
00:03:50.320 and Foreign Affairs Committees. Congressman Mills, it's great to have you back with us here on the
00:03:55.140 Great America Show. Before we take up Trump versus DeSantis, I want to first turn to what's on everyone's
00:04:02.100 mind. And that's the debt ceiling negotiations, those talks between President Biden and the House
00:04:07.840 Speaker. Your sense on what's happening and where we're headed.
00:04:10.860 Well, I think that right now, the Republican Party as a whole, you know, Joe Biden and the Dems didn't
00:04:16.400 think that we could come together to get the necessary votes to pass a debt ceiling. And they
00:04:21.280 did the same mistake by H.R. 1 and H.R. 2 and even in the parental rights bill and the D.C. crime bill.
00:04:28.380 So once again, they've underestimated that we're willing to stand for conservative principles.
00:04:33.340 And we've come together now and passed one of the most conservative and physically responsible
00:04:37.820 debt ceiling increases that I've seen in my lifetime. Things like going back to fiscal year
00:04:43.160 22 as our baseline numbers, looking at instead of doing a three and a half or four percent increase,
00:04:48.960 but a one percent increase per year, looking at calling back appropriations or allocations that
00:04:54.560 are not used like things in the COVID vaccine or COVID pandemic, where there's hundreds of billions
00:05:01.200 of dollars that are out there. The executive order that Joe Biden signed that is a complete bypass
00:05:07.040 of legislation to the tune of 500 billion dollars in tuition bailouts, the 87,000 IRS agent allocations
00:05:16.140 and some of the funding in the IRA. You know, these are all things that are not the D.C. dance of five
00:05:21.260 to 10 years down the road. But these would be clawbacks to the tune of one point two trillion dollars
00:05:26.720 in fiscal year 24, knowing that it's only a one point four seven trillion dollar increase to begin
00:05:32.920 with. So when you look at this and you look at how we've rebalanced our baseline finances to 22
00:05:39.660 with that one percent, you're talking about a nearly four point eight trillion dollar
00:05:43.860 decrease in our budget, which is a lot of money, as you know. And so when you look at that,
00:05:51.140 you start looking at the RAINS Act, which stops overregulation of businesses.
00:05:54.600 You start looking at securing our borders so that we can slow down on draining down some of the social
00:06:00.660 programs that need to exist, like our Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security. These are things
00:06:06.320 that have to occur to allow the GDP to exceed our national debt spending. And Speaker McCarthy
00:06:11.640 has stood strong on this, as has Republicans who are in solidarity and unified. And we're not going to
00:06:17.640 deal with the threats of defaulting. If Biden wants to default and the Democrats want to default,
00:06:24.600 that is on them. But we are at the table willing to negotiate to get a solution in place. And I
00:06:30.540 don't care if Hakeem Jeffries wants to bring his discharge petition, which he doesn't have the
00:06:34.220 numbers for, but we will not sign a clean debt ceiling to draw more money and more stress where
00:06:40.380 every child being born right now is saddled with one hundred thousand dollars in debt per person.
00:06:45.040 Yeah, it's this is a crisis and no one wants to acknowledge it because corporate America is having its way
00:06:52.320 with the Biden regime. Those borders are wide open. The the what we got. We have an estimate of six
00:07:02.320 to eight million illegal immigrants will have been allowed into this country by the end of this year.
00:07:09.260 That's extraordinary. It is punishing to taxpayers and they are outright competitors for wages
00:07:16.940 with working Americans and their families. It's outrageous. And you guys and I should say it
00:07:25.520 differently. All of you in the hundred and 18th Congress are making a real difference right now
00:07:32.380 in just the tone you're setting and these investigations and standing fast. I want to point out to a lot of
00:07:39.300 folks having raised in this bill spending to a trillion and a half dollars with those conditions
00:07:47.720 is smart because the way for Joe Biden to get that debt ceiling raised is simply sign that bill. Right.
00:07:57.240 Right. That's exactly right. And one of the things that you just touched on, I want to reiterate to all the
00:08:02.160 listeners here, is that, you know, you talked about getting control of the six point one million people who's
00:08:07.460 crossed our borders since Joe Biden has taken control and how that threatens certain job
00:08:12.240 competition. Well, that's why it was so important for us to ensure that work requirements was entered
00:08:17.600 into this debt ceiling, whereby if you are an able bodied man and woman who is able to get out into the
00:08:25.000 workforce, you shouldn't be incentivized by the federal government not to work. You should be given the
00:08:30.640 opportunity to actually have jobs that allow you to work to get yourself out of poverty. And so, you know,
00:08:36.460 the idea that, you know, Joe Biden's threatening to veto this just based on work requirements. Now,
00:08:43.240 bear in mind, this is the same individual who proposed the 20 hour work requirements back when
00:08:46.980 he was a senator. But it's also the same guy, you know, that in the videos are out there who threatened
00:08:52.280 to get rid of Medicare, Medicaid, not three times, but four times as he's actually shown and proven.
00:08:58.040 So the hypocrisy, which probably isn't even a hypocrisy at this point, because he can't remember what he had
00:09:03.060 for lunch. But the reality is that Joe Biden has actually requested the very things that are in
00:09:08.740 our bills and now threatens to veto them when it's protecting the American workers.
00:09:13.680 Well, I'm going to have to remind everybody that I'm the guy who said, I don't think that there
00:09:19.640 should be a fight over the debt ceiling for one reason. Well, actually, two reasons, but one principal
00:09:26.180 reason. One is that this president, I don't think anybody can name a single instance in which
00:09:32.160 President Biden has acted, initiated, or made any decision that is in the national interest.
00:09:41.420 And I can't help but suspect that he is absolutely indifferent to whether or not we see a catastrophe
00:09:51.040 in the markets as a result of a debt default if it comes to that. That, to me, is the great mistake
00:09:58.540 in this discussion, because it's giving him credit for caring about something I think he would, in fact,
00:10:04.660 intend. I hope I'm wrong about that. And I think that you and everyone in the 118th Congress
00:10:10.340 are right to pursue it. But this man is not rational. He is nothing more than an impaired puppet for the
00:10:20.400 Marxist Dems, who run the Democrat Party and himself. It's a very high stakes issue. But you
00:10:28.120 had to do something because otherwise the country will be even further down a chasm of disasters
00:10:37.720 created by this president. Well, that's exactly right, Lou. And again, if the president was serious
00:10:43.140 about trying to get a debt ceiling increase, then why did they not come up with a single plan?
00:10:49.020 You know, the Republican Party and the House are the only ones who are passing real legislation.
00:10:54.600 Let's talk about what the Senate has done under the Democrat leadership and Chuck Schumer.
00:11:00.520 They passed one major bill, and that major bill, in my opinion, they proposed was to make March,
00:11:06.660 I think it was, or May, I can't remember which month, Maple Syrup Month. I mean, that's the importance
00:11:11.260 of what the Senate is doing right now. And meanwhile, they want to attack a conservative debt ceiling
00:11:16.880 bill that gets the job done. But to your point, Lou, I think you're right. He doesn't care if it
00:11:21.880 falls into the quagmire of a debt default. It almost works to his advantage as he continues to try and
00:11:28.300 weaken us militarily, economically, and politically. But I think the bigger issue that we're going to
00:11:33.520 face here is that it's continual lies. I know Secretary Yellen has said that the fiscal cliff is on
00:11:39.780 June 1st. But I actually think that if you look at when this debt sitting is occurring, one of the
00:11:44.680 questions that I had is that, does that take into account all of the actual federal taxes that the
00:11:50.080 U.S. government is going to be taking in, and how that actually starts to reflect moving out. So this
00:11:54.380 could be something where they're telling everyone in a fear-mongering tactic that June 1st is this
00:11:59.700 scary day, which, hey, if it is, let's get the deal done. But I still think that they're exaggerating
00:12:05.940 that. And it could be mid-June to early July, if you think about what type of income actually is
00:12:12.340 received by the federal government to what our expenditures are. But here's the scary part,
00:12:16.960 and I'm just going to put it this way. We've already paid, to date, almost $600 billion just
00:12:23.360 this year in interest payments alone, no principal. You're now starting to talk about the fact that
00:12:28.660 we're spending a trillion-plus dollars a year in interest, not on principal. This is a real issue
00:12:36.140 that should not be a Democrat or Republican issue, but an American issue. So we have to get control
00:12:41.280 of the federal government and their overspending. We have to get the checks and balances in place,
00:12:46.180 but we also have to return and allow industry and market to drive policy that sees domestic
00:12:52.420 production growth and stop the reliancy on nations like China, Russia, and other adversaries that are
00:12:59.400 flooding our market with their goods, but not promoting American production, which enables us to
00:13:04.840 be able to exceed. Again, I'm a former business owner. My account payables cannot exceed my account
00:13:10.420 receivals. If it does, it's called insolvency. That is what we have been for far too long. So it's
00:13:15.460 time to get control over it. It's time to put the reins on things and start actually steering it and
00:13:19.600 get course correction. And that's what this debt ceiling increase that the Republican House has
00:13:23.480 provided. I couldn't agree with you more. We are talking with Congressman Corey Mills. We're going to
00:13:30.480 take a quick break as The Great America Show continues. Stay with us. We're coming right back.
00:13:35.460 This is a warning, my fellow Americans. The news just broke and it's grim. The banking collapse of
00:13:45.280 2023 is now more devastating than the banking collapse of 2008. First Republic, PacWest, Silicon
00:13:53.300 Bank, just a few of the latest casualties in this banking crisis. And don't wait for the email
00:13:59.040 reading, quote, sorry, your account has been frozen, end quote. Take action now to protect what we've all

00:14:59.460 We're back talking with Congressman Corey Mills. Congressman, you were just talking about this
00:15:05.060 should be a Democrat and a Republican issue, as is the case for so many issues, including the border
00:15:11.700 foreign policy. It isn't. We are watching a president who seems determined to destroy this
00:15:18.280 country with every act that he undertakes. Every step he takes seems designed to do the worst for
00:15:29.640 America. I think the days of Republican and Democrat are pretty much over. We're looking at Marxist
00:15:36.920 Democrats. We're looking at Republicans who are divided between RINOs and conservatives, some moderates.
00:15:48.240 But it's a different world. And I just don't think that we can count on the goodwill of the loyal
00:15:53.980 opposition, because it's neither loyal and not simply opposition. It's an adversary.
00:15:59.780 Well, I think that you're exactly right, Lou. And I made this exact comment when I was on the trail
00:16:05.800 during my campaign to 22. And I said, we have to look at things for what they really are today.
00:16:11.400 It's no longer Republican versus Democrat. It's no longer conservative versus socialist. It's now
00:16:16.160 America versus anti-America. And that's really where we are right now as a nation. We have to start making
00:16:21.160 decisions whereby each of our thoughts is based on constitutionality and the principles that allow us to
00:16:28.420 get back to American exceptionalism. We have to start thinking about the ideas of securing and
00:16:32.700 protecting our sovereignty to making sure that our streets are being properly policed and that we are
00:16:39.700 not seeing crime run rampant to where our American citizens are scared to actually do their day-to-day
00:16:45.140 duties. We have to provide opportunity. And again, we're a nation which is about equal opportunity,
00:16:50.680 not equal outcome. That is the difference between equity and equality. Equality is about the ability
00:16:56.280 and the outcome that you are allowed to get based on your work performance. Equity is nothing more
00:17:01.420 than a socialist ideology that talks about redistribution. And so, you know, I think that
00:17:07.600 you're spot on when you talk about, one, the fact that there isn't really a Democrat-Republican side.
00:17:14.060 It's the America-anti-America side. But also, I would say that in this 118th Congress, and especially
00:17:19.480 with the freshman class that we had coming in, of which a large majority were combat veterans such as
00:17:24.820 myself, you know, we're really constitutionalists at the end of the day. You know, we respect and
00:17:29.760 understand that the seven articles and 27 amendments are our safeguards and our guardrails,
00:17:34.520 if you will, to how we perform and operate for the American people. But again, I go back to the
00:17:39.820 original thing, which is that I will never be a politician. It's time to be statesmen. It's time
00:17:44.880 to be real representatives. It's time to look at what is best for the American people, not an ideology
00:17:50.180 or a political agenda that drags us into the abyss. And so, we have to start now getting back to that.
00:17:56.300 And, you know, I'm proud to say that, you know, being a part of this conference, being a part of the
00:18:00.900 118th Congress, I really, truly believe if you look at the bills that we're passing and we put on the
00:18:05.980 floor, that's exactly what we're doing. Securing our borders, getting our debt under control, making sure
00:18:11.600 there's no over-regulation of businesses so they can thrive, making sure that we protect life, making sure that we
00:18:17.540 stop the unelected bureaucrats who think they're lawmakers from violating our rights and our liberties
00:18:22.380 and start actually holding adversaries accountable and stop calling them competitors and start calling
00:18:27.080 them for what they are. Stop this interventionist ideology or mindset, but also not getting into the
00:18:33.320 difficulties of being an isolationist, being protectionist, building our military, stopping the
00:18:38.520 DEI and the CRT and the ESG, stopping these social experimentations and the, you know, this predator-prey
00:18:45.360 mechanism whereby our children are being utilized. So that's what this 118th Congress stands for,
00:18:51.200 and I think that you see it. I think that great representatives like Congressman Jim Jordan and
00:18:56.220 others see it, and I'm very proud to be a part of this. Well, it's good of you to include me in that
00:19:03.300 illustrious list. I have to say, I am so fearful of Joe Biden. Right now, he has got this country,
00:19:12.580 as we used to say out West, by the tail with a downhill drag. I don't see how we can do anything
00:19:20.940 very expediently, very quickly to stop what is a march toward disaster. What are we going to do?
00:19:28.760 Deport eight, 10 million illegal immigrants? I mean, is that what we're going to do? No one wants to even
00:19:34.560 talk about that. That's how intimidated the Republicans are on the issue of illegal immigration
00:19:41.860 and border security. We have to secure that border. You mentioned fentanyl. My gosh, this is, you know,
00:19:48.580 100,000 Americans a day, a day. It's bad, but not that bad. 100,000 Americans a year are simply
00:19:58.780 collateral damage, and there's no war on drugs. There is a wide open border, and Joe Biden, for
00:20:05.560 all the world, looks like he has signed a treaty with the drug cartels. He's turned over control
00:20:11.540 of our southern border to the cartels. That's exactly right, and let's just go ahead and paint
00:20:17.040 the picture with facts on this. You know, in 2018, these same Mexican drug cartels had about a $500
00:20:23.080 million a year revenue stream. Let's go to last year under Joe Biden for the full year of 2021,
00:20:29.500 whereby it's now increased to a $13 billion a year industry, of which 40-plus percent is just in the
00:20:37.900 child and human sex trafficking. You know, we talk about, and the Democrats want to say all the time
00:20:42.700 that they care so much about the health crisis. You know, that's why the pandemic was so important,
00:20:46.960 and, you know, COVID was such a pivotal moment. Well, why don't we talk about the fact that we spend
00:20:52.760 tens of billions of dollars to treat infectious diseases around the world by USAID and all these
00:20:59.140 other organizations, and yet we're allowing our borders to be open right now. That's allowing
00:21:04.260 some people from countries that have the highest transmission rates of tuberculosis. I mean, we have
00:21:09.440 a human crisis at our border. We have a national security crisis at our border. We have an economic
00:21:14.620 crisis at our border. I mean, we're allowing more people to come across per day than we utilize
00:21:20.000 during the D-Day invasions. We have to recognize this for what it is, and that's why when it came
00:21:25.260 to HR2, which is the most conservative border bill that's ever come to the floor, that was even
00:21:31.280 echoed by Congressman Chip Roy and the Texas delegation. This really gets us back to those
00:21:37.720 Trump policies, if you will, the remain in Mexico, the finishing the wall, the supporting and providing
00:21:44.200 a more robust asset and allocation and manning for our CBP and our ICE, you know, ensuring that we can
00:21:50.080 actually stomp out what is going on and label under the FTO, the Foreign Terrorist Organization,
00:21:56.300 you know, things like our Mexican cartels that are actually here to do us harm. But this is not just
00:22:00.780 the Mexican cartels. This is a bigger picture of things, and I've warned about this for five-plus years.
00:22:06.040 China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, some of our greatest adversaries, they are using these open
00:22:13.480 borders in an effort to try and go ahead and attack and kill Americans through the utilization of
00:22:18.400 fentanyl. And we know that in the Darien Gap, there are mainland Chinese who are printing fentanyl pills
00:22:23.660 in between Honduras and Panama who are allowing these to be mulled in at a, we will pay your fee,
00:22:30.920 it's for the ferry, if you will, to come in and utilize that to poison Americans. And as you alluded to,
00:22:35.760 100,000 Americans are dying a year. That's more than any war that we're involved in or any war
00:22:42.600 that we're trying to utilize as a proxy. We need to start understanding that the real threat to our
00:22:49.120 democracy, the real threat to our American sovereignty, and the real threat to the American
00:22:53.600 people is here on our own shores. And that's why our founding fathers understood that we must protect
00:22:58.860 our constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic, domestic being the key right now.
00:23:03.960 And so securing our border, as you said, Lou, is such a critical thing in order for us to try and
00:23:09.140 get ahead as Americans.
00:23:10.520 Well, we are getting word that there's going to be a very interesting development
00:23:15.720 with Governor Ron DeSantis, who's announced that he is going to be announcing for president.
00:23:24.480 With him, apparently, to announce his run is going to be none other than Elon Musk. Now that's early
00:23:33.220 reporting. We'll see what that means. And we'll get your reaction, Congressman, if we may, right after
00:23:39.500 this quick break, we're talking with Congressman Corey Mills. Stay with us. We'll be right back.
00:23:45.140 And we're back with Congressman Corey Mills. Congressman, your thoughts about the latest
00:23:57.100 entrant into the Republican presidential sweepstakes. And that, of course, is Governor Ron
00:24:03.040 DeSantis of Florida.
00:24:04.200 Well, you know, look, I'm very blessed. As Warren Buffett said, if you were born in America,
00:24:09.400 you'd already won the lottery. I would go one step further to say if you were born in Florida,
00:24:14.400 you'd hit the jackpot. Look, I live in the freest state in the country. I'm very proud to be a
00:24:20.100 multi-generational Floridian, greatest state I've ever been in. I think we have an amazing governor.
00:24:26.040 I think that he's done a great job kind of keeping things on the rails and helping to go after
00:24:30.180 CRT and some of the indoctrination in our schools, the K-3 parental rights bill, though I would argue
00:24:36.620 it should have went through K-12. But the reality is that even with Governor DeSantis wanting to get
00:24:43.720 into this race, you know, we don't need a four-year or an eight-year solution. We're going to need a 12-year
00:24:49.720 solution. And Florida needs to, we've elected a governor for four years, not to run to build up
00:24:56.160 your national profile. What we really need, and I've endorsed very early on, I was one of the first
00:25:01.520 four in the Florida delegation who endorsed our president, Donald J. Trump. What we need is someone
00:25:07.860 who understands truly how the D.C. swamp operates and the big establishment. We need someone who has
00:25:13.680 a proven foreign policy track record. When you look at President Trump's policies, you look at things
00:25:19.660 like replacement of the U.S. or the NAFTA with USMCA. You look at the Abrams Accord. You look at the
00:25:25.120 China phase one deal that saw hundreds of billions back into our agriculture and our farmers in the
00:25:29.260 Rust Belt and across America, understanding food security as national security. But you have
00:25:34.300 something that is even far more powerful. President Trump, unlike anyone else who's entering in this
00:25:40.000 race, regardless of how crowded the field gets, he doesn't have a re-election looming over his head
00:25:46.440 whereby he can make the necessary aggressive course corrections to get America back on track
00:25:51.580 without the fear of a re-election looming or trying to impede him from his decision-making process.
00:25:58.480 Everyone else who runs in this field, they're going to be thinking about, how do I get elected for my
00:26:02.920 second term if they come into office? With President Trump, you get an America First agenda.
00:26:08.360 You get back to the same policies we're trying to pass right now when it comes to H.R. 2 and the border
00:26:14.200 bill. The same policies that we're trying to pass with this debt ceiling that allows our GDP and business
00:26:19.760 owners to actually thrive and increase past our national debt ratios. The same guy who was willing
00:26:25.420 to hold our adversaries accountable and take out individuals like Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi of ISIS or
00:26:30.680 Qasem Soleimani and Abu Mariyah al-Mahandis of the Iranian regimes, but also a person who stood for
00:26:37.420 holding our allies accountable as well, like making sure that Germany and Italy and France, who don't do
00:26:43.320 it now but did under President Trump, paid their 2% of GDP for NATO. We started getting back to a real
00:26:49.460 America First government that allowed us to be able to put the American people as our priority while
00:26:56.120 simultaneously allowing us to be very strong and very respected on the world stage, something we don't have
00:27:01.340 any longer since Biden's botched that damn withdrawal. I personally don't see whereby Governor DeSantis can
00:27:07.680 provide the same level of governance and the America First principles as we can under President Trump.
00:27:13.440 And so what I'd like to see is our great governor to go ahead and remain as governor, and he's welcome
00:27:18.620 to come in in 2028. But right now, what America needs is a proven tracker, a proven CEO, and a proven
00:27:24.960 America First conservative, and that's President Donald J. Trump.
00:27:28.840 And there's going to be a lot of talk about DeSantis stepping in. And somewhat disrespectfully,
00:27:38.880 I think most people would say, because he was, of course, endorsed by President Trump, very important
00:27:45.520 to his being elected initially as governor. And his entire governor is a gubernatorial campaign on
00:27:50.200 President Trump. And he is America First, posting himself up as a Make America Great Again candidate.
00:28:01.760 You would think you were listening sometimes to the Trump agenda, word for word.
00:28:07.120 But we also have now Elon Musk saying that he will support DeSantis. And I think I'd like to get your opinion
00:28:15.900 of what you think the impact of an Elon Musk. He's got, what, I think 140 million followers on Twitter,
00:28:22.060 which he also owns. That's a powerful, powerful person to have their support.
00:28:29.560 It's a very powerful person to have. I mean, look, it's the equivalent of, you know, when you saw in Florida
00:28:35.200 where the majority of Florida delegates actually started endorsing President Trump, even though
00:28:40.260 the governor himself is supposed to be representing the state of Florida, that was a very powerful
00:28:44.560 message. I think that Elon Musk, who is an incredible businessman, he has done the right thing
00:28:51.300 with the Twitter file drops. He's an individual who definitely can move the needle in some regards.
00:28:55.580 But now you're talking about Governor DeSantis getting into a race whereby he's 30 plus points
00:29:02.340 down. You got a guy who cannot win the Rust Belt when you think about the fact that President Trump
00:29:07.440 put hundreds of billions of dollars into farmers' pockets. You've got a guy who, in my opinion,
00:29:12.480 I don't think that he would be able to go toe to toe with someone like President Trump when it comes
00:29:15.980 to the debate stage. And so while it's important, the thing that I know a lot of people are going to be
00:29:20.560 concerned with is, well, how does this work with Twitter, who we knew prior to Elon Musk's purchasing
00:29:25.980 was shadow banning, was intentionally suspending those who had a different mindset, was really
00:29:32.380 targeting conservatives, things like that. I don't think that we would have that same concern because
00:29:36.360 I will say that I appreciate that Elon Musk is really about free speech. I think what Elon is
00:29:42.000 thinking is that there's a misconception that President Trump, while he can easily win the
00:29:46.500 primary, couldn't win the actual general. I disagree with this. I think it's a false narrative.
00:29:52.400 I think that he has the best chance of actually defeating President Biden. And I think that what
00:29:57.400 we need right now is to understand where were we when it came to all the Republicans who was talking
00:30:02.680 about tax reform. You know, there were so many presidents who came before President Trump who
00:30:07.680 claimed they were going to do something. President Trump actually did it. Where was the rest of the
00:30:11.260 presidents, Democrat and Republican alike, when they said they were going to recognize Jerusalem as its
00:30:15.480 rightful capital? No one did it. President Trump stood up there and he got it done. Where was
00:30:20.320 everyone on the Abrams Accord, which hadn't been done since 1994 and 1979 prior to that with Egypt
00:30:25.900 and trying to get and ensure the prosperity and stabilization of the Middle East? President Trump
00:30:31.140 did that. So when we start looking at this as influential as Elon Musk is, and as much as I respect
00:30:38.240 his fight for free speech, I just don't think that it's going to move the needle enough where we're
00:30:42.880 going to see Ron DeSantis even come close to etching out the Republican nominee. We need to unify right
00:30:48.620 now. We need to unify behind President Trump and a conservative agenda that allows bold course
00:30:53.540 corrections for a president who already understands how the swamp operates, who already knows he has no
00:30:58.740 reelection, can make the decisions that need to be made unpopular or not, and a president who will hold
00:31:03.840 our adversaries accountable and get us back to where we are being respected on the world stage. If not, we better start
00:31:09.520 learning Mandarin real quick because we already know that this government is compromised and it is
00:31:15.120 moving towards an America-last agenda that actually advances China, Russia, Iran, and their geopolitical
00:31:20.360 alignment gains and strengths. And so we have to start thinking about a president who can do the right
00:31:24.780 things to hold him accountable. In my mind, that's undoubtedly President Donald A. Trump.
00:31:30.260 I think there are a host of reasons why Donald Trump is the preferable candidate for 2024.
00:31:36.580 Chief among those is he has endured eight long years, almost eight long years now, of political persecution by the
00:31:47.220 Marxist left without anybody standing up and breaking this cycle of ignorance and viciousness on the part of the
00:31:55.660 Democrat Party. Not one leader in it has stood up for Donald Trump. Very few leaders have stood up for President Trump in
00:32:03.240 his own party. And I think the American people understand fully who are the good guys and who are the bad
00:32:11.000 guys here. And only one of them is wearing a white hat among, as far as I'm concerned, among those people
00:32:17.080 looking to be president at 24, Democrat and Republican. I just can't even imagine why we wouldn't put Donald Trump in
00:32:25.200 the White House by acclimation, unanimous acclimation for all that he has done for this country and for all
00:32:32.000 that the left and the RINOs have done to him. But I'm pretty sure that there will be a real hard knuckle fight
00:32:39.920 over 2024. I just can't. And by the way, among the questions that will be asked if Elon Musk is going to put
00:32:48.160 himself in position of being shoulder to shoulder with DeSantis is, you know, just how free of Chinese
00:32:55.180 influence is he? He has Apple, for example. They have basically their whole company tied up in China.
00:33:03.960 How complicit will they be with Chinese policy? I find it very difficult to embrace the idea that you
00:33:14.720 have anyone who is so conflicted as an Apple or a Tesla. And I give, by the way, I respect deeply
00:33:25.040 Elon Musk. All that he's accomplished with SpaceX, with Tesla, it's remarkable. But I don't want to
00:33:35.680 see that kind of conflict near the president of the United States, or we'd have just basically what we've
00:33:40.800 got now. This president compromised by China, compromised by God knows how many countries,
00:33:47.360 and all of Wall Street and corporate America as well. And Congressman, this is where we always give
00:33:53.440 our guests the last word. And if I may, we'll ask for your concluding thoughts.
00:33:59.760 Well, thanks again for allowing me to be on, Lou. It's great to be able to be on The Great American
00:34:04.240 Show with you. You know, again, I talk about the 118th Congress and our conservative principles.
00:34:09.040 I talk about the fact that we will stand in solidarity and unification when it comes to
00:34:13.360 our debt ceiling, with the fiscal responsibilities, with ensuring that we secure our borders,
00:34:18.960 with holding those accountable for their malign activities, whether that be China or whether it
00:34:24.240 be our own government, as the FBI and State Department, as you know, has refused multiple
00:34:28.480 times to share key documents from the American people and transparency. We will look at making sure
00:34:34.080 that, you know, Biden does not continue on his interventionist path, but that we look at an
00:34:38.720 America First agenda. And through hard work, through determination, through the America First
00:34:43.760 way, we will see our president, President Trump, back in the White House in 2024 and leading us
00:34:50.400 towards prosperity, which is what we need. And I appreciate you being a part of that and for
00:34:54.720 advocating so heavily. So thank you again, Lou. I'm always here. God bless. If you need anything,
00:35:00.080 please don't hesitate. Congressman, thank you so much. We appreciate it, Congressman Corey Mills.
00:35:05.440 And that's all for us today. Please join us back here tomorrow. Our guest will be Professor Paul
00:35:11.120 Bracken, Yale professor, brilliant author of numerous books and articles on political science,
00:35:16.640 business and defense. And one book in particular, The Second Nuclear Age. We take that up with Professor
00:35:24.160 Bracken here tomorrow. Please join us for that and more. Until then, thanks, God bless you, and may God bless America.
00:35:35.440 Thank you.
