00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. Lou Dobbs here, and welcome to The Great America Show.
00:00:04.300 We're all about defending truth, justice, and the American way here, and I know you are as well.
00:00:10.120 Welcome to the show.
00:00:11.540 You'll be pleased to know that President Biden is raising taxes.
00:00:15.880 Biden says mostly on billionaires, so we don't have to worry too much,
00:00:20.260 and he promises people making less than $400,000 a year won't pay a penny more in taxes.
00:00:26.980 Do you believe him? Sure you do.
00:00:28.800 This from a president whose inflationary policies and outlandish, unprecedented spending
00:00:34.340 has produced the highest rate of inflation in 40 years,
00:00:39.100 has driven prices up to the point that many Americans are living week-to-week, paycheck-to-paycheck.
00:00:45.880 And Biden has ordered up a new regulation to meddle in Americans' 401k retirement plans,
00:00:52.280 allowing fund managers to consider ESG, that's environmental, social, and governance,
00:00:59.820 political choices in choosing investments rather than maximizing returns for investors.
00:01:07.180 The Senate passed a bill to block Biden's ESG rule, but the president promises to veto it.
00:01:14.140 The puppet president means to destroy this country and our middle class.
00:01:18.760 He is a destroyer.
00:01:21.440 A public research university in Florida has adopted a radical DEI program.
00:01:27.900 DEI stands for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
00:01:31.720 Sounds really nice, doesn't it?
00:01:33.740 But it's a Marxist program, a program that trains students in left-wing protest tactics,
00:01:39.220 that condemns America as a nation of white supremacy,
00:01:42.580 separates students by race, and teaches students about white oppression.
00:01:49.600 Now, when will Florida taxpayers end this nonsense?
00:01:53.940 When will American taxpayers end it?
00:01:56.640 Hopefully before the Marxists destroy this country.
00:02:00.260 And be aware, Biden wants the World Health Organization now to be in charge of our public
00:02:05.480 health system during epidemics.
00:02:07.800 And the WHO keeps ringing the bell, hyping diseases as fast as it can.
00:02:14.740 Remember the rapidly mutating China virus this fall?
00:02:19.140 That didn't work out for them.
00:02:20.900 Neither did, but they tried.
00:02:23.060 Neither did monkeypox, Marburg virus, or now the bird flu.
00:02:28.380 But the WHO is fanning fears as a girl in Cambodia has now died from H5N1.
00:02:36.320 And our Centers for Disease Control say they're ready with several vaccines and treatments if
00:02:42.020 ever they're needed.
00:02:43.800 Of course, if Biden has his way, they'll have to do what the WHO tells them to do.
00:02:50.080 Our guest today is definitely not a globalist.
00:02:52.880 In fact, he's one of the Patriot 20 who stood together to reform the 118th Congress to make
00:02:59.600 it more representative, more transparent, and effective.
00:03:03.560 Our guest is Congressman Andy Ogles, who represents Tennessee's 5th Congressional District, a successful
00:03:10.100 businessman and entrepreneur.
00:03:12.080 And Congressman, welcome.
00:03:13.400 Great to have you with us.
00:03:14.740 And my compliments on your principles stand in the negotiations to elect Speaker Kevin McCarthy.
00:03:21.060 You have made a great difference.
00:03:22.740 The Patriot 20 really served the nation.
00:03:25.800 Your thoughts?
00:03:27.300 Well, Lou, thank you for having me on the show.
00:03:28.940 You know, and absolutely.
00:03:30.300 I mean, you know, I've said this publicly.
00:03:32.300 So if you look at it, for me, it was never about McCarthy.
00:03:35.280 It was about how Congress is run, how the House of Representatives is run.
00:03:39.900 And, you know, and so whether it's a game of Monopoly or a red light, a red light that the
00:03:44.540 children might play in the backyard, or used to at least before they had iPhones and all
00:03:48.480 the other stuff, is the rules of a game can favor a player.
00:03:53.080 The rules of a game can even determine the outcome.
00:03:56.260 And for too long now, the rules of the House of Representatives have been working against
00:04:00.260 the people of America.
00:04:01.580 The rules of the game have been essentially guaranteeing growth in government and growth
00:04:07.000 in spending.
00:04:07.480 And so what we stood up for, it wasn't about a person.
00:04:10.300 It was about we have to have the ability to cut spending as a rank-and-file member.
00:04:14.980 And what that means is I'm just not a member of leadership.
00:04:18.600 I'm a rank-and-file member.
00:04:20.340 And so if Mark Green, a fellow Tennessean, a congressman, he's chairman of Homeland Security,
00:04:25.440 if he had been running for speaker, I would have wanted the same rules changes.
00:04:29.380 If Jim Jordan, a friend of mine, had wanted to be speaker, I still would have wanted the
00:04:33.940 same rules changes.
00:04:35.220 And so that was what we were fighting for.
00:04:37.880 And, you know, we can get into the specifics, if you'd like, on some of those substantive
00:04:41.600 changes.
00:04:42.640 But the true winners here in this was the American people.
00:04:48.480 Absolutely.
00:04:48.960 And again, my compliments for taking a firm position on those opportunities to make sure
00:04:56.840 that there's greater transparency, greater representation across all of the committees,
00:05:01.760 including the Rules Committee, the most powerful committees in Congress, whether it's Ways and
00:05:08.760 Means, the Judiciary Committee, or the Oversight Committee.
00:05:14.660 This was a very important moment in history.
00:05:17.600 And I think everyone was delighted to see Republicans show a pulse and great passion about things that
00:05:24.700 matter to the American people.
00:05:27.020 So again, my congratulations.
00:05:28.660 Let's turn to, you get to Congress, you're underway, and the next thing, Rachel Maldives takes
00:05:38.440 an interest in you and starts talking about your resume and the fact that you were mistaken
00:05:47.480 about your major in college.
00:05:50.660 And you would have thought that that was a really big deal.
00:05:54.640 Your thoughts about that?
00:05:55.940 To be clear, I wasn't mistaken about my major, but long story short, and this is one of those,
00:06:03.380 you know, I come from a working class family.
00:06:06.380 I was the first person in my family to go to college.
00:06:09.700 I was not the first to graduate.
00:06:11.840 So in my senior year of college, I dropped out and I helped support my mom and my three
00:06:18.840 brothers, and she actually, she just had her GED.
00:06:22.800 She went on to get college courses, the remedial courses.
00:06:26.980 She went to college.
00:06:27.760 She graduated, became an occupational therapist, and started her own business.
00:06:32.540 And so as the eldest son, I did what an eldest son should do.
00:06:36.980 It's biblical.
00:06:37.500 I put my family first.
00:06:39.960 And so all I lacked was my last semester of college.
00:06:44.680 And so back then, you didn't have online learning.
00:06:47.980 Some colleges, not all, would have a distance learning department.
00:06:51.920 And so this literally was done over the phone and by way of email.
00:06:55.220 And so I contacted the university and said, I've got about a semester to go.
00:07:00.060 I'd like to finish my degree.
00:07:01.540 They said, take these four courses and write your senior paper and you graduate.
00:07:06.420 I did that.
00:07:07.640 And they, about two, maybe three months later, they mailed me my diploma.
00:07:11.840 I got it here in my office.
00:07:13.640 It says Bachelor of Science on it.
00:07:16.100 I've never questioned it.
00:07:17.380 I've never looked at it.
00:07:18.440 It's been in my safe.
00:07:19.560 I only got it out because of these questions.
00:07:21.220 Well, it turns out that at that time, they did not issue my full diploma of political science and English and all that.
00:07:30.980 They did a broader degree.
00:07:32.580 I'm okay with that because I really, I did this for my children.
00:07:36.820 At the point at which I went back to college, I had already been successful.
00:07:40.100 I wanted to show my children that as a poor kid from a poor family, that I could overcome adversity, that I was going to finish my start, and I was not going to let the system or anything get me down.
00:07:52.420 All I needed was 12 hours in my senior project, right?
00:07:55.220 And so I did this for her because we had a baby girl at the time.
00:07:58.460 And so for me, this is all nonsense.
00:08:00.300 And it should be noted, going back to our first topic, is that I stood up and I had the courage to say enough is enough, and now I'm a target.
00:08:07.360 So that being said, we have a country to run.
00:08:10.520 We have a border that has 300,000 people coming across it every single month.
00:08:15.860 We have the Chinese flying balloons over our airspace, right?
00:08:20.620 Well, yes, we do.
00:08:22.140 And I just wanted to give you an opportunity to put that out there.
00:08:26.020 And the fact of the matter is, well, let me just say, what I hear you saying is what most of us said.
00:08:34.400 Give me the damn degree.
00:08:35.580 I don't care what it says on the rest of it.
00:08:38.320 And by the way, talking about you being an economist or whatever, let's be really clear.
00:08:44.480 Even the left, as brilliant as they are, they don't make economists with four-year degrees.
00:08:49.880 If you have your degree in economics from a college and four-year school, you're not an economist.
00:08:58.640 That's reserved for PhDs, and that's it.
00:09:01.780 I think the most frustrating part about all of this is that we have an administration that's dysfunctional.
00:09:07.140 We have a border that's for us.
00:09:09.040 And when we're talking about these side issues, look, the last decade, the last 15 years of my career, there's a body of work there that you can examine.
00:09:19.100 And you either like it or you don't.
00:09:20.720 So let's go to the issues before us, and that is China, the Financial Services Committee, the bills that you've passed.
00:09:28.160 I want to get first to the China Select Committee, Mike Gallagher, the chairman, saying that we have to act with urgency.
00:09:34.740 I couldn't agree with him more, and the House obviously is doing just that.
00:09:39.280 I do, at the same time, wonder why in the world we're talking about strategic competition when what we're talking about is geopolitical conflict
00:09:48.740 and the way in which this country responds to losing at least $600 billion in intellectual property every year to the communist Chinese.
00:09:59.340 The fact that we are absolutely overwhelmed by the insinuation of Chinese nationals into our colleges, our corporations, and science laboratories all over the country.
00:10:14.940 And, by the way, balloons that fly over us almost at will, apparently.
00:10:20.520 Your thoughts, and this is really about the conflict that exists between the two nations now, in my opinion.
00:10:28.340 Yeah, and I think that that is an important point, the very fact that we are at conflict.
00:10:36.200 We have an adversary in China.
00:10:39.020 And so, you know, we're talking about China, but I'm going to bring in COVID, and I'm going to bring in Sentinel.
00:10:43.780 We now know that the COVID virus was not inadvertently leaked from a lab.
00:10:52.300 You just had one of their scientists say, given the protocols in place, even in China, it would be near impossible for it to leak accidentally.
00:11:02.020 But let's set that aside for a moment.
00:11:04.200 We now know it came from China.
00:11:05.820 We now know that they try to cover it up.
00:11:07.700 We now know by the lack of communication and reaction, notifying their partners around the globe, they let this thing spread.
00:11:16.620 Why?
00:11:17.020 I believe because they wanted to see if it would cripple our economy.
00:11:21.060 Would it bring us to our knees?
00:11:23.480 They did a pretty good job.
00:11:24.800 You don't think that –
00:11:25.580 That was an intentional act by COVID.
00:11:27.440 I agree with you entirely.
00:11:30.520 And by the way, there is – you know, we now know – I think when we say we, and we're talking about the American people, the American people knew that this was an intentional act on the part of the Chinese.
00:11:41.500 They knew the damn virus came from Wuhan because that's where the virology lab was.
00:11:46.340 And the fact that the cognoscenti, the elites of our federal bureaucracy, are now confirming that really doesn't mean much because the American people are pretty tough to fool.
00:12:01.100 And what we have to deal with now is that a million Americans died because Xi Jinping refused to warn the American people and, in fact, took affirmative actions to make sure that virus did spread.
00:12:12.000 And the United States has not responded to what was actually an act of war.
00:12:18.360 Right.
00:12:19.300 Well, then, so we know we have a direct attack from China by way of COVID, asymmetric warfare.
00:12:27.400 And so now you look at the Sentinel crisis and you look at our southern border.
00:12:30.640 You know, over the last five months, they seized enough Sentinel to kill 100 million Americans.
00:12:39.200 Think about that for a minute.
00:12:40.180 Roughly a third of our country, if that was unleashed on our streets, could potentially be dead.
00:12:45.440 So they unleashed a deadly virus.
00:12:47.220 They're poisoning our kids and our inner cities with fentanyl.
00:12:52.280 Even now, you've got to be careful.
00:12:54.000 I mean, this was, what, maybe two months ago, give or take.
00:12:56.980 There was a middle school teacher who confiscated a bag of what looked like sweet tarts from a student.
00:13:04.000 And apparently he sniffed it to see if, in fact, it was candy or was it drugs.
00:13:08.480 And he overdosed on fentanyl, a secondary inhalation, by simply doing his job and trying to protect the students at that school.
00:13:16.260 Ladies and gentlemen, they're intentionally supplying the Mexican cartels with fentanyl precursors and the agents that are poisoning our kids.
00:13:25.340 And so there was a time, 10, 15, 20 years ago, when you thought about immigration and the border crisis, well, that's New Mexico or Arizona or Texas, right?
00:13:35.600 It's their problem.
00:13:37.060 Every small town in America is now a border town because fentanyl has swept this country and it's killing our kids.
00:13:44.760 Every town in America right now is collateral.
00:13:50.180 It knows that they are collateral damage to everything that the communist Chinese are doing.
00:13:56.140 And I'm saying communist because I want everyone on this and this audience, believe me, knows my feelings about what is happening in China and what they are doing.
00:14:06.820 But explicitly and fundamentally, I have a very big issue with the language the Republican Party has chosen here because this is the stuff of the left, to play games with language because if you control language, you control thought, and you control thought, you control the issue.
00:14:26.140 And for them to refer to China as a competitor, an adversary, I want to be very clear how I feel, Congressman, and I want to remind the audience.
00:14:36.820 China is our damn enemy.
00:14:39.220 And it's that simple.
00:14:40.360 And if we don't have, you know, I watched this under the Bush administration because of ethnic and religious sensibilities overwrought in the White House under George W. Bush.
00:14:54.200 They didn't want to call the enemy radical Islamists, which is what they were and are.
00:14:59.340 The fact of the matter is, when you don't have the guts to name your enemy, you don't have the guts to go kill your enemy and stop them cold from injuring the nation.
00:15:10.620 And that's what we've got to get to.
00:15:12.780 And there's got to be, and I realize it's going to take some time for some people in Washington, D.C. to mature, no matter the fact that they've got the best of instincts and purpose here.
00:15:22.800 But either we grow up and understand that we're contending with enemies.
00:15:28.020 Russia right now is an enemy.
00:15:30.660 The People's Republic of China is participating, is an accomplice in the murder of 100,000 Americans every year and killed 1 million Americans.
00:15:42.940 Are we going to, why would we not confront those realities?
00:15:46.380 We are grown men and women in this country, and it's time to get through with the nonsense.
00:15:53.020 Yeah.
00:15:53.880 Well, you know, and so let's assume for a moment that maybe not all of your listeners are convinced that China is an enemy.
00:16:00.180 I think they are.
00:16:01.500 I think your listeners know they are.
00:16:03.580 But so you've got the fentanyl that we know that they're intentionally poisoning our kids and our communities with.
00:16:08.760 We have the COVID virus.
00:16:09.840 We know that they intentionally let spread around the globe and try to hide it as long as possible.
00:16:14.980 And then you have this balloon that at first we were told it was a weather balloon.
00:16:20.400 It was a blind weather balloon that blew off course.
00:16:23.400 Oh, wait, there's more.
00:16:24.540 They find one in South America.
00:16:26.640 And so then as the media starts reporting, we find this thing is like, you know, two stories tall.
00:16:31.660 It's two or three buses wide.
00:16:33.460 You know, apparently it can move or some nonsense.
00:16:36.360 And so, oh, by the way, it is a spy balloon.
00:16:38.660 And so the only reason why this administration took action is because the American people were outraged.
00:16:45.500 This was embarrassing.
00:16:47.180 Whether you're a member of Congress or you're a teacher or you're a stay-at-home mom or you're a doctor, it doesn't matter.
00:16:53.280 Americans were outraged.
00:16:55.320 And this just speaks to this administration and their feckless leadership.
00:16:58.500 I mean, the global leaders are looking at us and wondering, are we still the same United States?
00:17:06.820 You know, you didn't have these problems under Trump.
00:17:09.120 You know, you didn't have Putin marching across or trying to march across Europe.
00:17:12.780 You didn't have China making such aggressive postures towards Taiwan.
00:17:16.980 Why?
00:17:17.240 Because they knew we were strong.
00:17:18.820 It matters who leads.
00:17:19.960 It matters who's at the top.
00:17:21.520 Biden is not truly leading this nation.
00:17:23.520 I think one could even argue he's not even really running the country, but that's a whole separate conversation.
00:17:27.400 And so our enemies are on the move.
00:17:30.340 And if we were in their position, we would do the same thing.
00:17:33.500 Because right now, under this leadership, under this administration, we are perceived as weak.
00:17:37.380 I would argue we're not weak.
00:17:39.180 We just have weak leadership.
00:17:41.380 We have just weak leadership, as you say.
00:17:44.500 And there is no question.
00:17:45.980 This president is impaired.
00:17:48.160 He is a puppet of the Marxist faction of the Democrat Party, which is now a huge proportion of the Democrat Party.
00:17:56.740 And we have to come to terms that with this puppet president and the Marxist policies that are being followed, we are watching de facto the third term of Barack Obama as president of the United States.
00:18:10.220 There's a reason we haven't heard from this man.
00:18:13.220 He can't be found anywhere.
00:18:15.420 He's not engaged.
00:18:17.140 He missed Black History Month, we're crying out loud.
00:18:20.280 Where was he?
00:18:21.240 What is so important that he has to hide out?
00:18:25.460 Because big questions now are arising about the character and the motives of this administration, fully compromised, and there is not—how in the world does one explain this president drawing down almost half of the strategic petroleum reserves while trying to kill fossil fuel?
00:18:44.440 Does that not sound to you like a purposeful effort to absolutely hamstring this country and stop our ability to be mobile, to move back and forth, and to see whether or not they can destroy the economy?
00:19:03.660 It's 55 percent of this economy that depends on fossil fuels.
00:19:08.140 That's right.
00:19:09.140 Well, I mean, you know, we're not going to see, you know, true inflationary and recessionary pressures fully ebb or, you know, go away, if you will, until we get back to energy independence.
00:19:24.040 Everything in this economy runs on fossil fuels.
00:19:26.800 The turbines that go on the windmills are made with fossil fuels.
00:19:31.680 I mean, the batteries that power the electric cars are made with fossil fuels.
00:19:36.220 So even your green energy is dependent on oil and gas.
00:19:39.580 I mean, when you look at the carbon footprint that goes into the production of green energy, it's kind of hilarious.
00:19:45.560 And so, look, we should be—if for no other reason, for national security reasons, we should be energy independent.
00:19:53.060 If that's natural gas, then fine.
00:19:54.600 If that's oil and, you know, petroleum products, fine.
00:19:59.200 If it's nuclear, fine.
00:20:00.800 We have an obligation to our country and to our sovereignty to be energy independent and to not be reliant on our enemy, like we are when it comes to green energy and rare earth metals in China.
00:20:12.620 Absolutely.
00:20:13.220 Absolutely.
00:20:15.120 And I want to turn to Janet Yellen for crying out loud, the Treasury Secretary in Ukraine telling Zelensky that, in her judgment, the U.S. taxpayer has a moral obligation to pay for Ukraine for as long as it takes.
00:20:32.660 I'm just stunned to hear a U.S. Treasury Secretary talking about Ukraine again, when, in point of fact, her responsibility should be right now to an ailing economy, to a financial system that is under significant stress, and should be here trying to restore prosperity, trying to rescue people from the immense damages and injuries from high inflation.
00:21:00.260 The highest inflation in 40 years.
00:21:04.860 Well, again, to your point, you know, this is not her lane.
00:21:09.780 There are people in this administration who are tasked with that responsibility.
00:21:15.040 She is the Secretary of the Treasury.
00:21:18.300 She has a job to do.
00:21:19.740 I would argue she's not doing a very good job at it, but that's, again, a conversation for another day.
00:21:24.780 But I would much prefer to see my secretary here in the United States figuring out how we're going to defeat the inflation, how we're going to have a soft landing when it comes to recession, and how we're going to turn this economy around.
00:21:35.980 But the problem is, is the answers to those questions are fundamentally go against the agenda that this administration has.
00:21:44.560 They want us on our knees.
00:21:47.220 They want us bowing down to the elites in Europe.
00:21:50.420 I will not do it.
00:21:51.780 I will not comply.
00:21:53.220 This is the United States of America.
00:21:54.960 And going back to the Patriot 20 that stood up and fought for the rules in the House of Representatives so our country could have better outcomes, I will fight and fight for this country as a member of the House of Representatives to my last breath, because this is the greatest nation on earth, and we have a right and an obligation to fight for our children's future.
00:22:13.180 And that is exactly what's at stake and what this nation will be in the future.
00:22:18.900 But right now, the real issue for this country is an existential one.
00:22:24.400 What in the world are we going to do about a government that is fighting its citizens every day, that is weaponized against those citizens, whether it's the Department of Justice, whether it is the FBI, the U.S. military can't find recruits because they are a woke institution now rather than a fighting core.
00:22:48.200 Our military readiness is an ebb, and we can't afford it because we're facing two nuclear superpowers and soon to be perhaps a third in Iran.
00:23:02.580 And I consider North Korea to just simply be a satellite of communist China.
00:23:07.960 Your thoughts?
00:23:08.920 That's right.
00:23:10.240 Oh, I totally agree.
00:23:11.800 When you look at military preparedness and readiness, and again, I think there's some question as to when you look at the armaments that have been sent to Ukraine, what is the plan to replenish those defensive weapon systems?
00:23:30.520 Right now, I don't really see one.
00:23:32.020 I don't know why that our defense industry isn't running 24-7 to try to, you know, some of these armaments take a long period of time to make.
00:23:42.460 I mean, this isn't a donut that you just make overnight, right?
00:23:45.080 They're complex systems.
00:23:46.340 They cost a lot of money.
00:23:47.780 They take time.
00:23:49.880 You have to have supply chains that ramp up.
00:23:51.940 So it's not like you can just turn it on and suddenly you've got all these new missiles or stingers or whatever else out there on the shelf.
00:23:57.620 Like, it takes time to ramp up that production.
00:24:00.420 Meanwhile, we're depleting our own supplies, our own reserves.
00:24:03.360 And so, again, like most every issue with this administration, they don't have a plan.
00:24:10.280 They have an agenda, but they don't have a plan to see us through these controversies or, quite frankly, through these crises.
00:24:16.900 And so it's concerning to me as a member of Congress.
00:24:19.340 And I will say that when you look at 2022, you're seeing the groundwork being laid by both sides of what's at stake in the 2024 election.
00:24:29.260 We have to maintain the House.
00:24:31.440 We have to win the Senate.
00:24:33.560 And ideally, we have to win the White House.
00:24:36.080 And I fear, if we don't, if we don't win all three, that the future of this nation is at stake.
00:24:42.380 We've certainly got to keep the House.
00:24:44.260 We certainly have to win the Senate.
00:24:45.700 But we've got to have the right candidate who can win the White House and can lead us out of this mess.
00:24:51.760 Look, I think the road ahead over the next year and a half is going to be bumpy.
00:24:55.740 I think it might get worse before it gets better.
00:24:58.420 But this is America.
00:24:59.580 We will prevail.
00:25:00.560 We've seen tough times before.
00:25:02.060 But this is where you, the listener, have to get engaged.
00:25:06.620 You have to make sure that your representative, whether it's on the school board or the State House or the State Senate or your member of Congress, they need to hear from you.
00:25:14.580 And they need to hear that you are expecting the America of your grandparents and of our founding fathers, not the America of Joe Biden.
00:25:24.000 Well said.
00:25:25.180 And that America is changing rapidly.
00:25:28.220 We just we have a report here that migrant apprehensions at the southern border have hit the lowest point in two years.
00:25:36.280 This at a time, which is typical, by the way, at least a small decline in January, as you know, Congressman.
00:25:42.400 But the reality is that we have somewhere between four to six million new people living in the United States in the course of only two years under the Biden administration.
00:25:51.960 Well, in just fiscal year 2022, you had two point three seven million border crossings.
00:25:59.380 And so, like you said, I mean, that's roughly two and a half million people crossed into our country in one year.
00:26:06.320 Three hundred thousand on average now a month.
00:26:09.620 I mean, when I look at, you know, prior to being a congressman, I was a county executive slash county mayor.
00:26:15.300 Some states call them county judges.
00:26:16.700 But I essentially was the elected CEO of my county, you know, I have a county of one hundred thousand people.
00:26:24.200 So every month, the population three times of my own community is moving into this country unabated.
00:26:32.160 Most of them needing some sort of social services, which, by the way, you and I pay for.
00:26:36.980 And so this is not sustainable.
00:26:41.200 There is no way that we as a country can absorb that many people.
00:26:45.620 And look, you know, this may sound harsh, but this is our country.
00:26:48.900 Right.
00:26:49.440 We get to choose who comes in and who gets to come in in 2023 may be different than who gets to come in in 2024 and 2025 based on our own needs.
00:27:00.100 So this idea that somehow America is held to a different standard than the rest of the world, by the way, no one else in the world has, you know, border lack of border security in the way we do, unless you're going to some sub-Saharan African country that is a third world country.
00:27:17.140 But when you look at Europe, when you look at Mexico, when you look at Canada, their border security, their laws are far stricter than ours.
00:27:24.820 I said, but yet because we're America, land of the free, you know, we are criticized because we don't want to just let everybody into this nation.
00:27:32.040 But what you've got to realize, the same people that are calling us names want to see us destroyed.
00:27:36.180 Yeah.
00:27:36.820 And so this is our country.
00:27:38.980 Yeah.
00:27:39.200 And that's a great point you're making.
00:27:41.440 And by the way, any American who has to apologize for saying it's our country, do you think that anyone in China apologizes for their border security?
00:27:51.300 Uh, Xi Jinping is embarrassed to say, you know, this is our country.
00:27:56.240 No, he's talking about that country and its future.
00:27:59.340 And he is moving that country forward in his vision, uh, of how to get there and what it should like, uh, should look like.
00:28:07.780 And by the way, that doesn't include much, uh, much of the United States.
00:28:11.840 We are in the view of the Chinese, a declining power.
00:28:15.420 And every day, you know what, we prove the point to the Chinese, uh, when they listen to Joe Biden, uh, basically obsequious to, uh, Xi Jinping, uh, and everything that is Chinese and policy and purpose.
00:28:29.860 We are at a heck of a point here.
00:28:33.480 Uh, and we have to say, you know, we, and I, and I got, and I think by the way, Mike Gallagher is a great congressman, a terrific, uh, terrific foreign policy expert.
00:28:43.900 Uh, but he, when he has to say, you know, this is all about the Chinese government, not the Chinese people.
00:28:50.920 Well, of course it is.
00:28:52.560 Why do we as Americans have to say idiotic things like that?
00:28:56.400 We're talking about the Chinese government.
00:28:58.660 We're talking about Xi Jinping and the communist party.
00:29:01.180 You know, the fact that we didn't like, uh, you know, I, I mean that we don't like communism and we don't like what they're doing to the country.
00:29:11.020 I mean, I have no apology to make for being very resentful of China and, uh, and angrily so for killing Americans.
00:29:20.880 And I'm angry with my own country for sitting here and sucking on our thumbs instead of responding.
00:29:26.700 How much, what will it take for this country to strategize and to understand that the time to be bowing to the left and to the phony, uh, nonsense of the CRT ESG left is over.
00:29:42.760 We're Americans and we, we have to start acting like it.
00:29:47.180 We all, and I think you're right, I think, uh, you know, obviously we don't have the Senate, we don't have the white house, but I think legislatively in the house of representatives, we have to put forth good policy.
00:30:01.160 That starts signaling to the American people that here are the problems, here are the solutions. Here's the way forward. Uh, unfortunately, most good policy is not going to be enacted until we win the Senate until we win the white house.
00:30:15.380 So again, 2024 is going to be critical. We have to start having those conversations today, uh, on what the solutions for America, uh, are going to be and what's the way forward.
00:30:25.400 But like you said, no one should have to apologize for being patriotic. No one should apologize because we're acknowledging the fact that China is trying to destroy us.
00:30:33.560 No one should apologize for acknowledging the fact that Russia, Russia is literally on the mark. They want to see Ukraine fall. They want to take Belarus. They want to restore the old USSR.
00:30:44.740 That's a fact. And so there's no reason why you, I, or anyone else to be apologizing for it. And yes, the Russian people are good people, but the regimes are out to displace the United States of America as the sole world power and by George, they're doing a quite effective job at it.
00:31:01.720 And by the way, this administration has done going a long way to help them with that question. Uh, we always give our guests the last word. Congressman, we appreciate you being here, uh, enjoyed our talk and hope you'll come back soon.
00:31:15.700 Uh, but in the meantime, uh, your concluding thoughts, if you would.
00:31:21.280 Well, I would just encourage people, uh, to not be discouraged. You know, when I think about the problems we're facing today, put yourselves in the shoes of our founding fathers, where they were having to fight against a global world power in Britain, where they literally were putting their lives, their fortunes, the lives of their family, their wives and their children at stake.
00:31:42.920 And they stood up and they did the right thing for the right reasons. We, as Americans, we have to get our courage back. We have to be willing to stand up and do the right thing for the right reasons. And yes, you're going to be attacked for it. Yes, you're going to have a target on your back. Yes, they may pick apart your life, but you know what?
00:32:04.320 That is the price of freedom. I'm up here fighting for the future of my children and my grandchildren. And if I don't do this, if you don't join me and other patriots in doing this, then whatever happens next is our fault.
00:32:18.580 And frankly, that choice is not an option for, for good patriotic Americans, as you well know. Congressman, it's great to have you with us. We thank you so much. And we, we wish you continued great success in the 118th Congress. Thank you for being with us.
00:32:36.500 God bless. And thank you. Thanks everybody for being with us. And here tomorrow will be our guest, Greg Kelly, host of Greg Kelly reports on Newsmax, author of his new book, Justice for All. Join us here tomorrow. Until then, God bless you and God bless America.
