Judicial Watch Director Tom Fitton joins the show to discuss the latest in the Israel-Hamas conflict and the growing threat of a second Israeli invasion of Gaza, as well as the new Republican nominee for Speaker of the House of Representatives, Jim Jordan.
00:20:27.020So it's going to be – let's just hope nothing worse happens over the next year or so.
00:20:35.440And if there's a new administration of Democrats or Biden, we're just going to keep on keeping on with this awful situation we have in the Middle East.
00:20:46.320That's why I don't hope that nothing worse happens.
00:21:41.260And that's how we get to, you know, the 21st century and the long war doctrine on the part of these halfwits who want to be perceived as some kind of military genius.
00:21:52.340And they create a doctrine that turns out to be nothing more than a rationalization of failure for the United States military.
00:22:22.160Not talking, not posturing, not playing silly, mindless, two-faced games in a back room with a closed door.
00:22:32.540And I want to say I think he is the example for every American and for every damn congressman who right now is worried about what K Street and the Chamber of Commerce and the Business Roundtable have to say.
00:22:52.120He's the president of the very important watchdog group.
00:22:54.980I think the most important in Washington, Judicial Watch.
00:22:58.120When we come back, I want to find out what he thinks is the greatest danger right now at our southern border that's wide open, 2,000 miles of it.
00:23:42.440It's under the control of the cartels, not the Department of Homeland Security.
00:23:45.860And there's a welcome wagon every quarter of a mile down there to greet illegal immigrants that have been brought here by various NGOs, nonprofits, to the tune of about 8 to 12 million.
00:23:58.680That's the best estimate in the course of less than three years of the Biden administration.
00:24:03.040Your thoughts about, as we watch what is happening to Israel and the conflict that has resulted, what do you think about our border and where we stand?
00:24:15.100Well, do you, I mean, Israel shows that you need border security.
00:24:20.860Either you have a way of figuring out who's coming across your border or you don't.
00:24:26.140And Biden has let millions come across.
00:24:30.780They check a box as they walk across the border.
00:24:35.060Even worse, they get cash to go in and they're moved in with taxpayer money throughout the border.
00:24:40.100You know, when Biden asks for more border money, right, to help secure the border, he's asking for more money to process more illegal aliens.
00:24:49.040He's not asking for more money to turn them away or otherwise deport them.
00:24:54.240And that's what's happening now on the border.
00:24:56.420We've got border towns across the land in Texas and Arizona, California, you name it, who, for all intents and purposes, are controlled by the cartels and the human traffickers because of the sheer numbers of aliens that have crossed into the border areas there.
00:25:18.860And now, you know, the only way the Biden administration pays attention is when their Democratic allies up north in Chicago and New York start yelling about it.
00:25:31.520But when you have what is it going to be six million probably by now or by the end of the year at this rate, at this rate, right, six million foreign nationals allowed to enter into the United States illegally by administration.
00:25:44.360I tell you, the fact that Republicans haven't even pushed impeachment on this yet is such an indictment of their approach to Biden administration corruption and abuse and really treachery when it comes to defending and upholding our constitutional system and protecting our nation.
00:26:05.220Most Republicans, I've decided now, are basically milquetoast, passive-aggressive blowhards.
00:26:12.180They haven't got a spine as a conference.
00:26:16.160They can't come together around a man who is to be Speaker of the House.
00:26:22.320They can't find it in themselves to put the republic first and the politics behind them.
00:26:29.680This is a moment of ignorance in American history.
00:26:33.540And the Republicans are not going to fare particularly better in history than the Marxist Dems, in my opinion.
00:26:41.220Well, you know, there are opportunities they could have taken, certainly under the McCarthy Congress, too, and a lot of the Biden administration's abuses and corruption that we've been talking about on this program, whether it be the abuse, abusive prosecutions of Trump.
00:26:58.100The border crisis, the censorship of Americans, you name it.
00:27:03.440And they had a leverage point with the debt.
00:27:07.680He worked with the Democrats in the House to get a debt limit approved in a way that helped Biden and prevented him from having to engage in any reforms or any restrictions on his abuses.
00:27:22.920I've got to ask you, have you ever seen a more blundering negotiator than than Kevin McCarthy?
00:27:36.120He goes into a, quote, debt ceiling negotiation and comes out not with a number and a ceiling.
00:27:42.800He comes out with, you know, a shattered debt ceiling.
00:29:11.140But I mean, the headline that we have is most recently they failed to deport ninety nine point seven percent of the two point one million illegal immigrants that freed into the United States over the last two years.
00:29:33.280And you were talking about accidental deportations.
00:29:35.820I truly believe that an American citizen has almost as good a chance of getting deported as one of these illegal immigrants.
00:29:43.680And I've got to ask you before, you know, as we're concluding here about the speaker race.
00:29:49.860And it comes down to the with the enthusiasm about Steve Scalise suddenly that the Republican conference kicked out Kevin McCarthy, a speaker.
00:30:01.280And now they want his handpicked successor, another rhino to be the next speaker.
00:30:09.240And and apparently that is what the future looks like.
00:30:26.840And whether they're rhinos or whether they're hardcore conservatives or folks who kind of fought with us like Jim Jordan, I want them to commit to doing something now.
00:30:38.540Not next year, but now defund the Biden regime now.
00:30:44.420Jim Jordan, he wants to pass a continuing resolution that would fully fund Biden through April.
00:30:52.600So, you know, I don't want speakers to come in, even those who I would like personally, and then put us back at square one.
00:31:00.980But my view is the speaker should follow judicial watches lead and draw a line in the sand at something.
00:31:06.920We're not going to fund the border invasion anymore.
00:31:10.000We're not going to fund Trump prosecutions anymore.
00:31:12.520We're not going to fund censorship anymore.
00:31:14.300And some of that's in these appropriation bills.
00:31:16.880But unless you leverage these shutdown fights and these manufacture deadlines to get those those those reforms through, that's that's your only way you're going to get it done.
00:32:25.580Either way, we have to take emergency measures to protect our system of government and our constitution.
00:32:30.080And I don't see too many Republicans interested in doing that.
00:32:34.220And that's why I kind of highlight these principles that people should be requested to follow, because otherwise we're going to have more of the same.
00:32:43.600I mean, if we have Speaker Jordan come in and he fully funds Biden for the next six months and Jack Smith gets all the money he wants to put Trump in jail, Biden gets all the money he wants to censor Americans and to allow millions more to cross the border illegally, are we better off or are the same with Speaker Jordan versus Kevin McCarthy?
00:33:09.760I think that's a great question, and I think it's in part answered.
00:33:16.160I think there's no question that that will happen under Scalise.
00:33:21.320There's a reason for all these good rhinos.
00:33:23.800And that reason is, as you know, K Street, the lobbying interests in this country and as well, an indifference to no matter what their lip service, their own constituents in the national interest.
00:33:41.520I mean, it is a frightening moment in American history, and I'm I'm not about being an optimist or a pessimist.
00:33:48.200I am as pragmatic as I can possibly be.
00:33:51.140I think that I think there is no question right now that if we don't have Jim Jordan decides he wants to endorse Scalise instead of fight for the speakers.
00:34:01.400If we have people who won't even fight for what they know is the right thing to do and maybe not the most pleasant or desirable thing for that individual, but won't do it for the country.
00:34:15.740And I'm going to your answer will be our concluding thoughts today on this show.
00:34:19.900We always give our guests the the last word, Tom.
00:34:22.900Your listeners have to remember they're not wind up toys that, you know, you can just presume are going to do the right thing and you can come in and check on them in two years.
00:34:31.380You've got to constantly be communicating with your members of Congress, your senators and frankly, your family and friends to get them to get involved as well.
00:34:40.740I mean, internal vigilance is the is the price of liberty here.
00:34:44.400And Judicial Watch will keep on doing what it does separately because we don't rely on those politicians.
00:34:49.260We always encourage them to do the right thing and press them to do the right thing.
00:34:53.060But we've got independent obligations as a civic organization and citizens have obligations as well to manage and ensure that self-government is operating well.
00:35:04.660Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch and a wise man as well as a great American.
00:35:15.860And thank you, everybody, for being with us.
00:35:18.020Our guest here tomorrow on The Great America Show is Devin Nunes, the CEO of Trump Media and Technology and the former chairman of the House Intelligence Committee.
