00:01:18.340 Hello, everybody. I'm Lou Dobbs. Welcome to The Great America Show. Glad to have you with us.
00:01:28.020 And happy Monday. A big week ahead for the Republican Party and what will be a new
00:01:32.600 congressional leader of the 118th Congress. House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan
00:01:38.180 has been nominated to be the GOP Speaker and debate is expected to begin tomorrow. As of right now,
00:01:45.080 it looks as if Jordan is short of the 217 votes required to become Speaker. But I hope the rhinos
00:01:52.820 of the Republican Party can unite behind a great candidate like Jim Jordan. We'll soon see.
00:01:59.960 A big win over the weekend for the governorship of Louisiana. Former Attorney General and Great
00:02:05.640 American Jeff Landry elected governor. Landry winning with 52 percent of the vote,
00:02:11.060 flipping the governor's seat red and avoiding a runoff. And I want to congratulate Governor
00:02:16.660 Landry. We wish him all the best in making Louisiana great again. Godspeed. And the Israel-Hamas war
00:02:23.920 expected to heat up further when the weather allows the Israelis to provide air cover for their
00:02:29.740 invasion force. The Israeli Defense Force warning civilians living in Gaza to evacuate the territory.
00:02:37.460 Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu means to level Hamas. The spokesman for the IDF says despite
00:02:45.440 Israel's warning, Hamas is holding basically hostages blocking civilians from evacuating Gaza.
00:02:53.500 The Hamas terrorists are sick, sadistic, and will never be forgiven for their despicable barbaric
00:02:59.220 attacks on innocent Israeli civilians. The United States has posted a second aircraft carrier force
00:03:06.340 in the eastern Mediterranean to address the threat of Iran. The USS Eisenhower joining the already
00:03:14.000 present USS Ford. The move comes to prevent Iran, Hezbollah, or Syria, or anyone else from opening a
00:03:21.760 second front against Israel from Lebanon or other nearby nations looking to intervene in the Israel-Hamas war.
00:03:30.260 Joining us now is Tom Fitton, the head of Judicial Watch. And Tom, it is always great to have you with us
00:03:35.800 on the Great America Show. Israel is at war against Hamas, the terrorist group. Your thoughts, first of all,
00:03:43.460 about what is happening right now.
00:03:45.980 Well, it's an awful situation. This is a terrorist attack like no other, certainly for Israel.
00:03:52.280 It'd be as if 40,000 plus Americans were killed in one day here in the United States.
00:03:58.120 And, but, you know, as you know, Lou, as being an observer and a reporter for decades, there's this
00:04:06.860 crazed antipathy to Israel and to the Jews and to Western civilization, which they represent there in
00:04:15.300 the Middle East by this transnational extremist leftist movement. And it has powerful allies and
00:04:23.880 supporters here in the United States. And now we're seeing them justify and excuse
00:04:30.380 these atrocities, which include, you know, killing babies, beheading them.
00:04:36.040 I mean, now we're arguing over whether they're burning them to death or beheading them. That's
00:04:39.500 what the left wants us to focus on. And now Biden sent Blinken, the Secretary of State, to Israel,
00:04:48.460 Israel, where today he's lecturing them on avoiding civilian casualties after what happened
00:04:54.020 on Saturday. Who wants to purposely engage in civilian casualty making? Who wants to purposely
00:05:03.020 kill innocents? No one in Israel wants to do that in the Israeli government. So this is just more
00:05:08.920 equivocation and immediately seeking to justify not only the prior attacks, in my view,
00:05:16.640 but to protect Hamas from the consequences of their evil ways.
00:05:23.980 I can't even imagine what it must be like for Israelis living with the Gaza Strip day in and day out,
00:05:34.120 knowing somewhere in their hearts and minds that there will be a night where Hamas terrorists cross
00:05:43.080 the line and come to murder Israelis. And it happened. And now they're at war. And now CNN,
00:05:51.500 of all the networks, global, describing Israel as having committed war crimes as their citizens are
00:06:02.660 being slaughtered, their children, their babies beheaded, as you noted. It's outrageous. And I have
00:06:10.900 to say my blood is boiling at the ignorant fools who are sitting at a desk at the New York Times,
00:06:19.740 the Washington Post, at CNN, and other organizations as well, as you well know, describing these animals
00:06:27.840 as militants. They're terrorists. It couldn't be more plain. It couldn't be plainer. It couldn't be
00:06:36.640 simpler. They're terrorists. And yet they want to argue about that as well, because apparently they
00:06:43.320 don't want to offend the baby killers and these vile monsters who call themselves Hamas.
00:06:51.900 Your thoughts?
00:06:53.240 Yeah. You know, Lou, as you talk, we have these extremists out in the street that are,
00:06:57.280 you know, Palestinian, pro-Palestinian, and, you know, they justify outright the terrorism,
00:07:03.820 right? They support it and they celebrate it. What's worse, that or their sophisticated allies
00:07:11.620 in newsrooms and in State Department offices and international organizations across the world
00:07:19.160 who kind of burnish that by talking about, well, Israel should, you know, seek peace or Israel
00:07:26.660 should avoid civilian casualties, as you point out, suggesting Israel taking basic measures of
00:07:33.020 self-defense in extraordinary circumstances are, quote, guilty of war crimes.
00:07:39.620 I think they're two peas in a pod, and that's how you lose a civilization, by not only these
00:07:46.260 revolutionaries on the street justifying mass murder of innocents, but those in positions of power
00:07:52.660 who kowtow to them, enable them, and kind of, you know, pat them on the back indirectly
00:08:00.680 through comments that they think can pass muster, but really fall from the same tree.
00:08:09.200 And not so long ago, Jake Sullivan, I mean, you mentioned Tony Blank and the Secretary of State
00:08:13.480 rationalizing their call for constraint as if that were the appropriate response when you and I and
00:08:25.620 everyone associated with this broadcast knows that retaliation is the only rational and, I believe,
00:08:35.700 moral response to this tragedy, to this cowardly attack by Hamas.
00:08:44.000 And Tony Blank, who said initially on Twitter, on X, as it's now known, posting a statement
00:08:55.780 about, please be restrained in your response to the murder of your citizens, the calloused
00:09:02.620 acts that you've witnessed, the barbaric action witness, please constraint.
00:09:11.280 He had the judgment then to delete those posts, and now he's in the Middle East carrying the
00:09:19.200 same message.
00:09:20.240 It is ignorance.
00:09:21.400 It is beyond.
00:09:23.760 It's unlimited mediocrity in terms of diplomacy.
00:09:27.620 It's unlimited stupidity.
00:09:30.460 And it's unlimited lack of concern and empathy for people who have just been wronged mightily
00:09:40.740 by a terrorist group, which this administration refuses to recognize as such.
00:09:47.200 Well, that's, you know, there's that moral equivalency that takes place.
00:09:51.360 And of course, you know, it does, as I keep on saying, they advance the revolutionary agenda
00:09:55.280 with that type of approach as well.
00:09:57.660 The terrorists go in and engage in these vicious atrocities that really don't have much modern,
00:10:06.780 there's not much of a way of modern comparison, at least in the Western world.
00:10:12.540 And what's the response?
00:10:16.600 Well, we have to be careful.
00:10:18.400 You know, we can't go too hard against these people, which, of course, advances their agenda,
00:10:23.060 right?
00:10:23.820 They get violent in ways never seen before in humanity by, you know, by the modern man.
00:10:30.040 And what's the response?
00:10:32.300 Well, let's listen to what else they have to say now.
00:10:35.220 And that advances the ball just as much as the violence does.
00:10:40.300 And I tell you, the Biden administration has yet to confront its funding of Iran and its
00:10:50.480 appeasement of Iran as helping incentivize this attack.
00:10:54.520 They should be held accountable for that.
00:10:56.860 And of course, what do we expect from Blinken?
00:10:58.400 What do we expect from Biden?
00:11:00.980 You know, Blinken helped politicize Russia and its involvement in U.S. politics by lying
00:11:10.760 to protect Hunter Biden over the corruption there in his laptop evidenced,
00:11:17.640 which obviously implicated Joe Biden.
00:11:22.340 And so you've got Joe Biden and Blinken compromised by corruption.
00:11:25.940 And of course, people like Iran and Hamas look at the United States and they take our measure,
00:11:31.960 right?
00:11:32.720 And that measure is informed by their corruption and weakness.
00:11:38.420 And so, you know, in Israel, you know, if I were Blinken, and I think honest friends of
00:11:44.140 Israel should be saying, well, why weren't you strong enough?
00:11:46.440 And now we hope you finish the job here by making sure that Hamas is no longer a functioning entity
00:11:52.940 on your border so Americans aren't killed in large numbers in your territory anymore.
00:11:58.600 You know, that's the sort of advice we should be giving Israel.
00:12:02.460 You know, you need to make sure that, you know, you protect yourselves adequately before demanding
00:12:10.340 American blood and treasure, because you've had plenty of it.
00:12:14.340 And I don't know why you didn't protect yourself adequately.
00:12:16.960 Why did you let Hamas run Gaza for years thinking they wouldn't do something like this?
00:12:21.720 And why did we permit the United Nations and the assorted parties to insist on a Gaza Strip,
00:12:31.060 to insist on putting Israel in an unthinkable, vulnerable position, asking them to basically
00:12:42.660 coexist with their sworn enemy who hate them pathologically?
00:12:49.020 And there's been no deviation from that reality, yet that's what the, as you call them,
00:12:55.700 the globalist left precisely wanted.
00:12:59.200 It's time for the United States to say the hell with what they want.
00:13:03.120 Let's deal with what is, and what is, is an awful and terrible, barbaric group that you said
00:13:12.280 had no, you know, there's no comparison to Western civilization.
00:13:17.800 But the greatest parallel to what is Hamas today is ISIS, and only a number of people
00:13:24.660 have said they're far worse than ISIS, as unimaginable as that is.
00:13:28.940 We are talking with Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch.
00:13:31.940 We're coming right back, and we're going to have a couple of latest developments from the
00:13:37.120 Israeli-Hamas war.
00:13:39.940 Stay with us.
00:13:40.660 We'll be right back.
00:13:41.380 We're back talking with Judicial Watch's Tom Fitton.
00:13:50.020 Tom, there is, I'm pleased to report that Israel did not hesitate to absolutely disable to take
00:13:58.700 out Syria's two international airports in Damascus and Aleppo.
00:14:06.140 It is the kind of strike that I would have expected them to make, and I would expect that
00:14:10.660 we'll see more strategic targets taken out from any country that decides that it will be the active
00:14:19.340 enemy of Israel and its citizens.
00:14:23.520 The savagery of ISIS, as we're talking about, is there any limit in your mind as to what Israel
00:14:32.360 should do here?
00:14:33.680 Any limit to the statement by Prime Minister Netanyahu that every member of Hamas is dead?
00:14:42.540 Yeah, I mean, you know, I don't know what exactly that means, because Hamas is going to have
00:14:48.580 a lot of supporters in the civilian population that obviously are not going to be a threat
00:14:54.120 other than ideologically.
00:14:56.040 You know, the question is, does Hamas have a power structure and monies and activists that
00:15:03.400 would be a threat?
00:15:04.200 And certainly, you know, you can have never-enders who believe in Hamas or that extremist religious
00:15:11.740 hatred for Israel in principle, but, you know, they shouldn't have guns, you know, or be in
00:15:20.120 a position to engage in terrorist attacks.
00:15:23.540 And that means decimating and destroying the organization.
00:15:28.020 Hamas has to be annihilated, in my opinion, just to be straightforward about it.
00:15:32.020 And there is, there's sort of an atmospheric right there.
00:15:36.000 I mean, I say that, Lou, because what they say is, well, you can never kill an idea.
00:15:40.740 Well, I agree, but you can't kill an idea.
00:15:42.780 You can kill a terrorist group.
00:15:45.320 Yeah, and you can't kill them two dead.
00:15:50.240 I mean, the proposity of all of this is straightforward.
00:15:57.220 Who is supporting Hamas?
00:16:00.320 Who is supporting Hezbollah?
00:16:02.940 Who is behind all of this?
00:16:05.920 And it's Iran.
00:16:07.400 Why do we play a game about their not being responsible and being responsible where?
00:16:15.060 I mean, how, you know, as far as I'm concerned, Iran, its refineries, its oil, they frankly
00:16:23.800 should no longer be a member of OPEC because they wouldn't have oil.
00:16:26.740 They wouldn't have refineries.
00:16:28.740 They wouldn't have infrastructure.
00:16:30.720 And the devil take the hindmost.
00:16:33.720 They would never again fund terrorism against innocents ever again.
00:16:39.460 That, to me, is the limit.
00:16:42.300 That's where I would go.
00:16:43.980 What do you think?
00:16:44.780 I think, you know, with Iran, we should commit ourselves, and we should have done this long
00:16:50.480 ago, to regime change.
00:16:51.700 And we don't talk like that anymore.
00:16:54.160 I mean, it's really how we settled the conflict with Russia in many ways.
00:16:58.380 It was, you know, regime change.
00:17:00.780 And, you know, that wasn't organic to Russia.
00:17:02.780 That had a lot of help from the United States and, you know, Pope John Paul II and Poland and such.
00:17:10.240 You know, and there are – every regime has an opposition, right?
00:17:17.080 And the last thing the State Department wants with these terrible regimes is regime change
00:17:22.940 because they like stability.
00:17:24.840 They like appeasement.
00:17:25.880 And I think, you know, as long as that regime's in place in Iran, ping-prick strikes or whatever,
00:17:34.960 you know, that's not necessarily going to get us the results we want.
00:17:39.500 And so it doesn't mean you go to war against Iran.
00:17:42.040 No.
00:17:42.740 But it means you commit to regime change.
00:17:44.640 And there are ways of doing that.
00:17:46.100 And that's what we used to be able to do.
00:17:48.700 The left hated it.
00:17:49.980 So we stopped doing it.
00:17:51.400 Yeah, I think there is another thing we can do that's even more effective and perhaps quicker results.
00:18:00.280 And that is – I'm not talking about going to war.
00:18:03.040 I'm talking about destroying their entire petroleum industry, period.
00:18:06.820 I'm talking about destroying the enemy that supports such – you know, the Hezbollah and Hamas
00:18:15.860 and the killers of babies and wives and children in Israel.
00:18:23.500 This is an outrage.
00:18:25.340 I want the United Nations to talk about that outrage.
00:18:28.700 I don't want to hear this political nonsense emanating for the Rights Council, the Human Rights Council.
00:18:33.500 This is a sickening charade.
00:18:36.500 And it's about – and no one, neither party, is talking about the charade.
00:18:40.880 Well, I guess it's because we have a pretend president and a pretend United Nations and a pretend Human Rights Council.
00:18:49.280 When we've got real monsters in Hamas and Hezbollah, wannabe monsters in Syria,
00:18:57.260 all are arrayed against the state of Israel.
00:19:01.260 And the world should be coming to their aid, not sitting here acting like – with their preposterous sophistry
00:19:12.020 with language that has no content or meaning.
00:19:16.540 Going back to the Obama administration, there's always been this anti-Israel element in the State Department
00:19:21.940 and our foreign policy establishment.
00:19:24.600 But with Obama, you got the radicals, right?
00:19:27.160 And that's why they came up with this nuke deal with Iran to legitimize Iran's regime and weaken Israel.
00:19:34.980 And Biden's followed up on that.
00:19:37.620 And on top of that, the radical leftists have emerged more forthrightly during the Biden administration
00:19:44.760 with this Hamas caucus in Congress and all of these academic and college students coming out in support of terrorism.
00:19:56.240 And that's Biden's base, too.
00:19:59.120 So they've got this – they're in bed with the Iranians for foreign policy establishment and radical reasons.
00:20:06.920 And plus, they've got this radical base behind them.
00:20:09.060 So this administration may say or do the right thing from time to time as this issue emerges.
00:20:17.720 But we know where they are.
00:20:19.140 And they're not going to be any other position different than where they are now with respect to appeasing Iran
00:20:24.600 because of the reasons I've outlined.
00:20:27.020 So it's going to be – let's just hope nothing worse happens over the next year or so.
00:20:35.440 And if there's a new administration of Democrats or Biden, we're just going to keep on keeping on with this awful situation we have in the Middle East.
00:20:46.320 That's why I don't hope that nothing worse happens.
00:20:49.380 I want something worse to happen.
00:20:50.800 And I want it to happen to Hamas and Hezbollah and to Iran.
00:20:54.640 That's for sure.
00:20:55.300 I want a lot worse to happen.
00:20:58.320 Yeah, I hope Israel doesn't do something proportionate that leaves Hamas in place.
00:21:04.880 That would be a disaster.
00:21:06.580 Yeah.
00:21:07.160 Proportionate is not what this should be.
00:21:09.420 And I think Bibi Netanyahu has made that very clear.
00:21:12.340 You also get peace by victory, right?
00:21:15.280 That's the only way.
00:21:16.540 The left likes you to pretend that you have peace without victory.
00:21:19.800 That's not peace.
00:21:21.500 I once asked Henry Kissinger if he ever considered victory in Vietnam as an end strategy and goal.
00:21:35.160 And you know what his answer was?
00:21:36.820 No.
00:21:38.100 The answer was no.
00:21:39.540 That was never the goal.
00:21:41.260 And that's how we get to, you know, the 21st century and the long war doctrine on the part of these halfwits who want to be perceived as some kind of military genius.
00:21:52.340 And they create a doctrine that turns out to be nothing more than a rationalization of failure for the United States military.
00:21:58.460 And still it persists.
00:21:59.800 And by the way, I've got to tell you a guy I want to give all the credit in the world to.
00:22:05.360 His name is Corey Mills.
00:22:07.000 He's a congressman from Florida.
00:22:08.660 He is rescuing Americans in Israel, in Gaza, wherever they are.
00:22:15.900 And he's rescued 35 Americans.
00:22:19.040 This is an American congressman.
00:22:22.160 Not talking, not posturing, not playing silly, mindless, two-faced games in a back room with a closed door.
00:22:32.540 And I want to say I think he is the example for every American and for every damn congressman who right now is worried about what K Street and the Chamber of Commerce and the Business Roundtable have to say.
00:22:49.760 We're talking with Tom Fitton.
00:22:52.120 He's the president of the very important watchdog group.
00:22:54.980 I think the most important in Washington, Judicial Watch.
00:22:58.120 When we come back, I want to find out what he thinks is the greatest danger right now at our southern border that's wide open, 2,000 miles of it.
00:23:07.460 And guess what?
00:23:09.060 Terrorists are flowing across that border.
00:23:11.560 And what is happening to all of those illegal aliens?
00:23:15.300 By the way, the estimates are between 8 and 12 million illegals in this country since Joe Biden took the presidency.
00:23:25.860 We'll be right back with Tom Fitton.
00:23:27.500 Please stay with us.
00:23:34.040 We're back now with Tom Fitton, the head of Judicial Watch.
00:23:37.740 I want to turn to our border.
00:23:40.280 2,000 miles wide open.
00:23:42.440 It's under the control of the cartels, not the Department of Homeland Security.
00:23:45.860 And there's a welcome wagon every quarter of a mile down there to greet illegal immigrants that have been brought here by various NGOs, nonprofits, to the tune of about 8 to 12 million.
00:23:58.680 That's the best estimate in the course of less than three years of the Biden administration.
00:24:03.040 Your thoughts about, as we watch what is happening to Israel and the conflict that has resulted, what do you think about our border and where we stand?
00:24:15.100 Well, do you, I mean, Israel shows that you need border security.
00:24:20.860 Either you have a way of figuring out who's coming across your border or you don't.
00:24:26.140 And Biden has let millions come across.
00:24:30.780 They check a box as they walk across the border.
00:24:33.680 And they're free and clear.
00:24:35.060 Even worse, they get cash to go in and they're moved in with taxpayer money throughout the border.
00:24:40.100 You know, when Biden asks for more border money, right, to help secure the border, he's asking for more money to process more illegal aliens.
00:24:49.040 He's not asking for more money to turn them away or otherwise deport them.
00:24:54.240 And that's what's happening now on the border.
00:24:56.420 We've got border towns across the land in Texas and Arizona, California, you name it, who, for all intents and purposes, are controlled by the cartels and the human traffickers because of the sheer numbers of aliens that have crossed into the border areas there.
00:25:18.860 And now, you know, the only way the Biden administration pays attention is when their Democratic allies up north in Chicago and New York start yelling about it.
00:25:31.520 But when you have what is it going to be six million probably by now or by the end of the year at this rate, at this rate, right, six million foreign nationals allowed to enter into the United States illegally by administration.
00:25:44.360 I tell you, the fact that Republicans haven't even pushed impeachment on this yet is such an indictment of their approach to Biden administration corruption and abuse and really treachery when it comes to defending and upholding our constitutional system and protecting our nation.
00:26:05.220 Most Republicans, I've decided now, are basically milquetoast, passive-aggressive blowhards.
00:26:12.180 They haven't got a spine as a conference.
00:26:16.160 They can't come together around a man who is to be Speaker of the House.
00:26:22.320 They can't find it in themselves to put the republic first and the politics behind them.
00:26:29.680 This is a moment of ignorance in American history.
00:26:33.540 And the Republicans are not going to fare particularly better in history than the Marxist Dems, in my opinion.
00:26:40.480 What are your thoughts?
00:26:41.220 Well, you know, there are opportunities they could have taken, certainly under the McCarthy Congress, too, and a lot of the Biden administration's abuses and corruption that we've been talking about on this program, whether it be the abuse, abusive prosecutions of Trump.
00:26:58.100 The border crisis, the censorship of Americans, you name it.
00:27:03.440 And they had a leverage point with the debt.
00:27:06.080 McCarthy refused to do that.
00:27:07.680 He worked with the Democrats in the House to get a debt limit approved in a way that helped Biden and prevented him from having to engage in any reforms or any restrictions on his abuses.
00:27:22.920 I've got to ask you, have you ever seen a more blundering negotiator than than Kevin McCarthy?
00:27:36.120 He goes into a, quote, debt ceiling negotiation and comes out not with a number and a ceiling.
00:27:42.800 He comes out with, you know, a shattered debt ceiling.
00:27:47.640 I mean, think about it.
00:27:49.140 There is no debt ceiling as far as he's concerned as he walked out of that negotiation.
00:27:54.320 Either that or Joe Biden should have been the author of Art of the Deal.
00:27:59.660 I mean, it's it's incredible.
00:28:01.620 But I want to go back to the border.
00:28:03.940 You you and Judicial Watch have come out with an interesting report, a fascinating report.
00:28:08.960 The Biden border crisis.
00:28:10.780 I'm going to use the subtitle as well.
00:28:12.560 New data and testimony show how the Biden administration opened the southwest border and abandoned interior immigration enforcement.
00:28:21.880 Your findings are astounding.
00:28:25.960 There is no deportation of anyone for any reason, apparently, in the country, according to your report.
00:28:33.860 Is that right?
00:28:34.420 Yeah, and there and a lot of this has come out from to their credit that the.
00:28:41.920 The House Judiciary Committee finally was able to extract some information that had been hidden from the American people.
00:28:50.320 But it looks like anyone who's deported, it's almost accidental.
00:28:55.080 Or maybe it's the worst of the worst of the worst.
00:28:57.800 And, you know, somehow the machine worked in a way that results in them being deported.
00:29:03.320 And frankly, in these days, you never know if people are even being deported for the right reason, even the fact that no one is deported.
00:29:09.860 Right.
00:29:10.500 Right.
00:29:11.140 But I mean, the headline that we have is most recently they failed to deport ninety nine point seven percent of the two point one million illegal immigrants that freed into the United States over the last two years.
00:29:26.760 Unbelievable.
00:29:28.260 Unbelievable.
00:29:28.820 And as they say, there are no accidents.
00:29:31.600 This is Biden policy.
00:29:33.280 And you were talking about accidental deportations.
00:29:35.820 I truly believe that an American citizen has almost as good a chance of getting deported as one of these illegal immigrants.
00:29:43.680 And I've got to ask you before, you know, as we're concluding here about the speaker race.
00:29:49.860 And it comes down to the with the enthusiasm about Steve Scalise suddenly that the Republican conference kicked out Kevin McCarthy, a speaker.
00:30:01.280 And now they want his handpicked successor, another rhino to be the next speaker.
00:30:09.240 And and apparently that is what the future looks like.
00:30:14.580 Your reaction.
00:30:15.660 So I'm not taking, you know, many have said that I should be speaker.
00:30:19.920 I don't want to be speaker.
00:30:21.680 Well, I'd go for it.
00:30:22.940 I do want them to follow judicial watches lead.
00:30:25.640 OK.
00:30:26.840 And whether they're rhinos or whether they're hardcore conservatives or folks who kind of fought with us like Jim Jordan, I want them to commit to doing something now.
00:30:38.540 Not next year, but now defund the Biden regime now.
00:30:44.420 Jim Jordan, he wants to pass a continuing resolution that would fully fund Biden through April.
00:30:51.740 OK.
00:30:52.600 So, you know, I don't want speakers to come in, even those who I would like personally, and then put us back at square one.
00:31:00.980 But my view is the speaker should follow judicial watches lead and draw a line in the sand at something.
00:31:06.920 We're not going to fund the border invasion anymore.
00:31:10.000 We're not going to fund Trump prosecutions anymore.
00:31:12.520 We're not going to fund censorship anymore.
00:31:14.300 And some of that's in these appropriation bills.
00:31:16.880 But unless you leverage these shutdown fights and these manufacture deadlines to get those those those reforms through, that's that's your only way you're going to get it done.
00:31:29.180 And they've refused to do it.
00:31:30.840 And they know that's how to get it done.
00:31:32.380 But they don't want to do it, which suggests they don't consider it as important as we do.
00:31:37.580 Well, I think that your your strategy is very important.
00:31:43.180 It is it is one path.
00:31:45.280 But I know one thing.
00:31:46.960 This business of taking handpicked successors and a succession that goes.
00:31:52.240 Let's see.
00:31:53.700 2009, we start with Nancy Pelosi.
00:31:56.320 Then we go to John Boehner.
00:31:58.220 Then we go to Paul Ryan.
00:31:59.800 And then we go to what's his name?
00:32:02.480 Kevin McCarthy.
00:32:03.180 And now we were going to go to McCarthy.
00:32:05.440 But now we're going to go to his handpicked successor because there is outrage in the conference.
00:32:10.960 The American people right now have to be thinking, my God, we're lost.
00:32:16.100 Are we lost?
00:32:17.040 I think we have to recognize that our republic is tottering.
00:32:22.400 I run hot and cold.
00:32:23.500 Is it tottering or is it falling?
00:32:25.580 Either way, we have to take emergency measures to protect our system of government and our constitution.
00:32:30.080 And I don't see too many Republicans interested in doing that.
00:32:34.220 And that's why I kind of highlight these principles that people should be requested to follow, because otherwise we're going to have more of the same.
00:32:43.600 I mean, if we have Speaker Jordan come in and he fully funds Biden for the next six months and Jack Smith gets all the money he wants to put Trump in jail, Biden gets all the money he wants to censor Americans and to allow millions more to cross the border illegally, are we better off or are the same with Speaker Jordan versus Kevin McCarthy?
00:33:06.740 I don't know.
00:33:08.720 That's the question.
00:33:09.760 I think that's a great question, and I think it's in part answered.
00:33:16.160 I think there's no question that that will happen under Scalise.
00:33:21.320 There's a reason for all these good rhinos.
00:33:23.800 And that reason is, as you know, K Street, the lobbying interests in this country and as well, an indifference to no matter what their lip service, their own constituents in the national interest.
00:33:41.520 I mean, it is a frightening moment in American history, and I'm I'm not about being an optimist or a pessimist.
00:33:48.200 I am as pragmatic as I can possibly be.
00:33:51.140 I think that I think there is no question right now that if we don't have Jim Jordan decides he wants to endorse Scalise instead of fight for the speakers.
00:34:01.400 If we have people who won't even fight for what they know is the right thing to do and maybe not the most pleasant or desirable thing for that individual, but won't do it for the country.
00:34:14.020 Where the hell are we, Tom?
00:34:15.740 And I'm going to your answer will be our concluding thoughts today on this show.
00:34:19.900 We always give our guests the the last word, Tom.
00:34:22.900 Your listeners have to remember they're not wind up toys that, you know, you can just presume are going to do the right thing and you can come in and check on them in two years.
00:34:31.380 You've got to constantly be communicating with your members of Congress, your senators and frankly, your family and friends to get them to get involved as well.
00:34:40.740 I mean, internal vigilance is the is the price of liberty here.
00:34:44.400 And Judicial Watch will keep on doing what it does separately because we don't rely on those politicians.
00:34:49.260 We always encourage them to do the right thing and press them to do the right thing.
00:34:53.060 But we've got independent obligations as a civic organization and citizens have obligations as well to manage and ensure that self-government is operating well.
00:35:04.660 Tom Fitton, president of Judicial Watch and a wise man as well as a great American.
00:35:11.320 Thanks so much for being with us.
