00:00:00.000 hello everybody and welcome to the great america show it's great to have you with us on yet another
00:00:07.160 beautiful day in america thank you so much folks for being with us here on the great america show
00:00:11.720 thanks for spending part of your evening with us here on the great america show as always it's a
00:00:15.860 delight to have you with us and it's an honor to have you here so folks the rhinos are at it again
00:00:21.980 just when you thought the senate rhino establishment couldn't get any weaker couldn't become any
00:00:27.640 scummier after 14 full days out of session folks john rathun has returned to work and he's
00:00:35.440 reportedly no longer considering the save act the save america act congresswoman anna polina luna
00:00:42.240 who's been a stalwart conservative a stalwart america firster blowing the lid off of yet
00:00:48.400 another disgraceful backstab by the senate majority leader a direct message to the american
00:00:53.080 people on x and napolina luna posted quote just so america knows after two weeks recess john
00:00:59.740 thune no longer considers the save america act and there you have it folks rhino john thune once
00:01:06.120 again after months of dragging their feet floating fake solutions pretending to fight for election
00:01:12.220 integrity john thune and his rhinos have officially thrown in the towel on president trump's signature
00:01:18.040 voter protection bill to which president trump said he has no interest in signing any other
00:01:22.300 legislation until that bill is passed. So now it's up to President Trump to hold his ground as well
00:01:28.760 and keep good on his word, as he had said, that he's not interested in any other legislation
00:01:34.120 until they pass the Save America Act, because he says it's about election integrity.
00:01:38.180 After all, he was the victim of a rigged election in 2020, almost a victim of a rigged election in
00:01:43.180 2016, and I believe was a victim of a rigged election in 2024, in which it was too big to rig.
00:01:50.560 So, of course, President Trump has got to have to stand on ground here.
00:01:53.860 He's going to have to stand on honor.
00:01:55.940 He's got to stand on his word that he has no interest in any other bills, not funding Ukraine, not funding Iran war, not funding Israel, not funding anything else. 0.98
00:02:06.720 Until these rhinos in the Senate come to the table and pass this damn bill so that we can ensure no more elections are stolen. 0.97
00:02:13.520 So that we can ensure that no more illegals are voting in our elections. 0.99
00:02:16.600 so that we can ensure the voter rolls in every single state, including California, 1.00
00:02:20.680 are cleared of dead people, of people six feet under for years.
00:02:27.520 I don't think that's too much to ask for for the Senate majority leader,
00:02:31.580 unless, of course, he's compromised and he's in on the rig,
00:02:35.180 which is very well possible considering the background
00:02:39.740 and what we've seen from the previous majority leader,
00:02:43.620 Senator Froghorn Leghorn, Mitch McConnell,
00:02:45.500 who somehow is still there.
00:02:48.980 The guy can't speak, can't walk, rolls around in a wheelchair all day. 0.98
00:02:52.860 It's sad. 0.99
00:02:54.660 But it's also sad to see that that's our politicians.
00:02:58.260 That's who's running this country.
00:03:00.080 That's who's in charge of policy.
00:03:02.480 So when John Thune came in, I expected he's cut from the same cloth
00:03:06.820 and he was going to be the same person as Mitch McConnell was
00:03:09.900 and pushed and pushed and pushed for Rick Scott,
00:03:13.180 who, in my opinion, and the opinion of many others, would have been a far better candidate, 0.99
00:03:20.660 would have been far superior to this scum in John Thune, this rhino in John Thune, 0.98
00:03:27.560 who, to this day, has not shown who he really is, number one, and number two, what he brings to the 0.99
00:03:36.220 table that's different than Mitch McConnell. Now, what does John Thune have to say about it? Well,
00:03:41.620 John Doon says there may be other pressing stuff.
00:03:44.640 Those are his words, quote, other pressing stuff more important than election integrity.
00:03:51.120 Now, this is according to Punchbowl News, who has the pulse on what's happening in Washington, D.C.
00:03:58.580 They have the inside scoop.
00:04:01.200 According to Punchbowl News, the Senate, they say the Senate will come off the Save America Act this week and may not return to it anytime soon, if not at all.
00:04:08.720 When they start voting on ICE and Border Patrol budget resolutions, SAVE will no longer be the pending business.
00:04:15.660 That means Thune would need to hold another procedural vote to restart the floor debate. 0.98
00:04:20.380 So it brings the question, why has Thune allowed it to drag on this long without a damn vote? 0.68
00:04:26.940 If it's going to fail, bring the vote to the floor and let the chips fall where they may. 0.99
00:04:32.120 Let the American people see what scumbag senators are voting against election integrity. 0.93
00:04:40.040 Why don't you want to expose them, John Thune? 0.98
00:04:42.520 Why are you protecting these people?
00:04:45.720 Who are you protecting?
00:04:48.060 Bring the vote to the floor and let it fail.
00:04:51.460 So that each and every American, when they go to vote for their two senators in their state,
00:04:56.700 they know who is in favor of election integrity.
00:04:59.500 They know who is in favor of the Save America Act, and they know who's in favor of getting rid of corruption once and for all in this country.
00:05:09.520 Now, as you and I sit here, I don't think I'm being irrational.
00:05:15.100 And I don't think it's irrational as us, as Republicans, as Americans, to demand integrity from our institutions.
00:05:23.540 to demand integrity from the very institution that our taxpayer dollars fund each and every
00:05:29.600 single year. In my opinion, it's the biggest waste of money ever spent. I think money in
00:05:35.380 Ukraine, and I say this to a grain of salt, money in Ukraine is probably better spent
00:05:39.620 than is spent to these people running Congress. I mean, you can't think of a bigger waste of money.
00:05:47.920 yet we allow john thune and the rest of these rhinos get away with it 0.99
00:05:54.400 now punchbowl says thune does not commit to holding a vote to get the back uh onto the 0.81
00:06:00.020 save america act after the budget resolution and fISA reauthorization are done don't even get me
00:06:06.220 started on fISA the senate the punchbowl says the senate will come off the save act this week
00:06:10.920 to pass a budget resolution and will require another vote we don't have another pressing
00:06:16.400 stuff in front of us, this is John Thune's words, then we'll see about getting that going.
00:06:27.300 So John Thune cares more about getting FISA through the very thing that they used to spy
00:06:33.320 on President Trump, the very thing they used to try to destroy President Trump when Obama
00:06:41.960 a wiretapped Trump Tower, that very thing,
00:06:47.340 that's what they're worried about getting through 1.00
00:06:49.580 because that's what Lady Lindsey Graham wants.
00:06:59.300 It's just so sickening that this is what it's come to.
00:07:05.720 Now, President Trump called the bill,
00:07:07.580 the Save America Act, for a reason
00:07:09.100 because that's exactly what it does.
00:07:11.960 Saves our country from chaos, saves our country from unchecked illegal voting that the Democrats, quite frankly, have used to help steal elections in the past.
00:07:24.040 And with full Republican control of the White House, the House of Representatives and the Senate, there is zero excuse for this failure.
00:07:31.420 And to Mike Johnson's credit, Johnson got it through in the House, got it passed, came back around, got it passed again.
00:07:39.600 with that slim majority he has.
00:07:45.200 Now, prominent conservatives are calling for John Doon
00:07:47.880 to be ousted all over Twitter today, all over Twitter this week.
00:07:52.280 And quite frankly, I agree with him.
00:07:54.940 I mean, how long are we supposed to put up with this?
00:07:57.700 We put up with it far too long with Mitch McConnell
00:07:59.880 and look at the situation it's got us in with him.
00:08:04.060 we stuck on with that
00:08:08.680 I'm going to be nice and be polite
00:08:11.380 and be respectful but we stuck on with him
00:08:13.440 for far too long
00:08:14.360 and what did it get us
00:08:17.160 two impeachment cases to President Trump
00:08:18.980 that got sent to the Senate
00:08:19.960 of course acquitted
00:08:22.520 but that's where
00:08:25.120 hanging with Mitch got us
00:08:26.460 no meaningful legislation passed through
00:08:29.380 and now as time continues to pass by
00:08:31.860 and pass by
00:08:33.480 and pass by some more, still no plan.
00:08:38.020 President Trump literally, literally had to go lobby for himself
00:08:43.280 for the big, beautiful bill. 1.00
00:08:48.160 And had to kick John Thune in the rear end to get his ass to work 1.00
00:08:52.180 for the big, beautiful bill. 1.00
00:08:56.320 What's the point of having a Senate majority leader?
00:08:58.480 if Trump himself has to do all this.
00:09:05.680 And it's sad, folks, 0.99
00:09:06.680 because the Republicans are just as worthless 1.00
00:09:08.600 as the Democrats, just as worthless. 0.99
00:09:12.420 I mean, they could raise a trillion dollars 0.98
00:09:14.560 and they would find a way to screw it up.
00:09:20.920 And we've watched them screw it up.
00:09:24.140 They could raise all the money in the world,
00:09:25.820 which they've been doing.
00:09:26.620 As a matter of fact, the National Republican Congressional Committee, the NRCC,
00:09:31.940 raked in a record $47 million in the first quarter of this year,
00:09:35.680 topping the Democrats by nearly $2 million in the midterms.
00:09:39.240 It was the best March fundraising the NRCC ever recorded,
00:09:44.020 with about $21 million in donations,
00:09:45.900 capping off the fourth quarter of the House GOP's campaign arm.
00:09:51.560 Historic fundraising.
00:09:52.540 the nrcc raised a total of 164 million just over 164 million during the current campaign cycle
00:10:00.760 and has 72 78 million dollars cash on hand with less than seven months to go until the
00:10:06.880 midterm elections but what good is that money if these people are no use
00:10:10.740 congressional republicans have outraised democrats on an average of five straight quarters
00:10:17.700 The first time in a decade that it has outraised the House Democrat campaign arm in the first year of the election cycle.
00:10:26.040 The DCCC ended their first quarter with $45 million raised.
00:10:31.260 Now, they have their own problems with ActBlue and their fundraising arm.
00:10:38.260 The Republicans have their corrupt one, too.
00:10:40.800 I think it's called WinRed.
00:10:41.760 and act blue they were on capitol hill this week comer and i think a hundred something times
00:10:47.580 they pled the fifth straw donors donations coming in from gift cards i mean just the craziest
00:10:56.020 craziest stuff and they get away with it because they're the democrats folks we're fired up tonight
00:11:03.120 here for the great america show we're live so let us know where you're tuned in from we're going to
00:11:06.640 try to get to your shout outs your questions your concerns let us know if you're enjoying the show
00:11:10.160 There's so much more to get to. We have a deal made or semi deal or we'll tell you about it with Iran coming up.
00:11:18.200 Ron DeSantis is looking for a new job and he's interviewing the very unlikely contender.
00:11:24.420 So much more to get to folks here on The Great America Show.
00:11:26.860 We have a new Fed chair coming in soon who was before the Senate today.
00:11:32.160 We're talking about all of that and much, much more on the other side of this quick break, folks.
00:11:35.460 The Great America Show continues in less than 60 seconds.
00:11:40.160 We'll be right back.
00:12:10.160 There you have it. President Trump writing on Truth Social, quote, based on the fact that the government of Iran is seriously fractured, not expected so, and upon request of the field marshal of Asim Muneer, the prime minister, Shabazz Sharif of Pakistan, we've been asked to hold our attack on the country of Iran until such time as their leaders and representatives can come up with a unified proposal.
00:12:34.180 I have therefore directed our military to continue to blockade and in all other respects remain ready and able.
00:12:41.940 We therefore extended the ceasefire until such times a proposal is submitted and discussions are concluded one way or the other.
00:12:49.520 President Donald J. Trump.
00:12:52.260 So they have an extension of the ceasefire, but the blockade stays in place.
00:12:57.300 Now, I don't think President Trump, I don't know the right answer here on what should be done and on how it should be done, to be honest with you.
00:13:05.680 And I'm not going to pretend like I do.
00:13:07.020 I'm not going to pretend like I'm one of these professionals on Fox News who goes out there and says this is how it should be done.
00:13:12.180 I don't think any of us really know.
00:13:13.480 I don't think President Trump himself knows how this should be handled.
00:13:18.300 I mean, it's literally a balance scale.
00:13:20.600 Do you demolish the entire country or do you let them come to the table to make a deal?
00:13:25.540 And somewhere in between the two is the truth.
00:13:28.600 And somewhere in between the two is the resultant of what it should be.
00:13:33.520 I think it's probably one of the toughest decisions President Trump has ever had to make.
00:13:37.480 But if you think about it for a second, what he's done here, I think it's perhaps one of the most brilliant things he's ever done with this blockade of the Strait of Hormuz.
00:13:48.380 He literally, and I said this to you guys yesterday, I believe, he's literally hit them with an Uno reverse car.
00:13:54.660 They've shut down the Strait of Hormuz from everyone coming through.
00:13:57.020 So Trump says, that's fine.
00:13:58.700 We're going to shut down the Strait of Hormuz from your boats.
00:14:02.000 You guys think you own it?
00:14:03.060 Well, guess what?
00:14:03.540 We think we own it now.
00:14:05.440 And it's now the Strait of America, by the way.
00:14:08.280 Call Google and tell them to change their maps.
00:14:11.260 And it's literally the most brilliant thing in the world.
00:14:14.960 You don't want to let anyone else's ships go through.
00:14:16.900 That's fine.
00:14:17.460 Yours ain't going through either.
00:14:19.200 Says who?
00:14:19.960 Says me.
00:14:20.540 and i just think it's he doesn't get enough credit
00:14:25.880 for the brilliance of what it is for the brilliance of hitting them with what they've
00:14:35.480 tried to hit us with and so CENTCOM ordered the enforcement of the blockade in the Strait
00:14:41.040 of Hormuz tonight despite any ceasefires that we have with them so that continues to stay in place
00:14:46.800 nothing really changes and if iran acts up they're gonna be met with fire and fury
00:14:54.060 so i hope they're ready for it turning back here to some politics back home
00:15:00.020 new report out shows florida governor ron de santis is begging for a prominent role inside
00:15:06.220 the trump administration is interested in three high level positions i was turned over within
00:15:11.800 the Trump administration continues, a former primary rival, which is DeSantis, is looking to
00:15:16.840 maybe make his way back in the good grace of President Trump. We all know President Trump
00:15:21.420 is a man who forgives far too often, especially DeSantis, a man who stabbed him in the back.
00:15:27.120 If you really think about it, Trump was not in the wrong there. DeSantis knew Trump was running.
00:15:31.500 We all knew Trump was running, and he couldn't announce it because of various political reasons,
00:15:36.600 various lawsuits that were going on, but DeSantis Danwell knew, and he decided to run anyway,
00:15:42.460 thinking that he had the backing of Fox News and that the Murdochs were going to save him, so
00:15:46.620 he decided to run, and it was probably one of the biggest mistakes he did, because we all
00:15:51.660 found out that Ron DeSantis is not this approachable person. He's rather weird,
00:15:57.400 and he's not who we thought he was. Axios is reporting this afternoon that President Trump
00:16:04.040 has told some of his closest advisors and his friends that Florida Governor DeSantis is begging
00:16:08.840 for a job in the administration. Now, DeSantis will be out of job come January because his second
00:16:14.500 term of governor will expire, and he's just limited to two terms in Florida, the way it should be.
00:16:19.960 According to sources, Axios spoke with one of those positions as U.S. Attorney General.
00:16:24.860 Trump telling one confidant, quote, Ron is begging to become an AG. Trump appears to be open to making
00:16:31.060 DeSantis, America's top law enforcement official, but wants to give the acting attorney general,
00:16:35.560 Todd Blanche, a shot first, which I disagree with the president on, because from all reports,
00:16:40.280 I don't know Todd Blanche, I've never met the man, I never spoke to him, but from all reports we've
00:16:44.260 had, people are saying that Blanche is the problem that was behind Pam Bondi, and I'm not totally
00:16:51.680 opposed, to be honest with you, with DeSantis becoming the next attorney general. I went
00:17:00.180 through a period where I greatly disliked him for running against President Trump, 0.99
00:17:04.040 and I think he made a fool of himself. But I think there's definitely 0.88
00:17:08.140 a job in there somewhere for Ron DeSantis. I don't think he's a bad
00:17:12.220 guy. I think he was guided by the wrong people.
00:17:16.740 I think those of you who are married out there,
00:17:20.440 the wives who are listening, don't get mad at me for this, but I think he relied
00:17:24.380 on advice from his wife, to which all
00:17:28.200 My married friend said they have no choice.
00:17:31.280 Men have no choice.
00:17:32.100 They have to listen to their wives.
00:17:34.260 So I think, you know, he took some bad advice, and it ultimately led him to running. 0.98
00:17:40.980 Now, the president, as he said, wants Blanche to start actually indicting the people who tried to destroy his life with the bogus lawfare cases.
00:17:48.060 This is the area where former Attorney General Pam Bondi came up short.
00:17:52.620 Todd has about 90 days to show what he can do, an advisor telling Axios.
00:17:57.060 But DeSantis appears to prefer two other positions to U.S. Attorney General, Secretary of War or the U.S. Supreme Court.
00:18:06.820 Now, before Trump ultimately selected Hegseth to run the War Department, he thought about appointing DeSantis instead, the report says.
00:18:13.660 Now, if Hegseth ordered a part in the coming months, Trump would strongly consider DeSantis as his replacement.
00:18:19.520 But DeSantis' ultimate dream is to be one of the nine Supreme Court justices
00:18:22.880 who'd especially love to replace the great Clarence Thomas
00:18:25.760 should he decide to hang up the robe.
00:18:28.880 Now, another source telling ICOs DeSantis is 100% not interested in the AG job,
00:18:33.880 but he would be interested in two things,
00:18:36.040 War Secretary or Supreme Court, either being his dream job.
00:18:40.280 The source added that DeSantis and Justice Thomas
00:18:42.340 almost have a father-son relationship
00:18:44.500 and would be a hell of a legacy for Trump.
00:18:47.340 Team Trump seems to agree with DeSantis that the Supreme Court of,
00:18:51.100 or the Secretary of War, would be a better fit than Attorney General.
00:18:56.360 Quote, there's a big reason the President wouldn't pick Ron to be his Attorney General.
00:19:00.880 There's way too high of a chance he would try to F over the President,
00:19:04.480 another advisor telling Axios.
00:19:06.560 Trump needs someone of justice he absolutely trusts.
00:19:10.320 But the Department, the Defense Department of the Supreme Court,
00:19:14.060 something else, sure.
00:19:14.820 So we wait and see. I don't necessarily agree with that because you're going to fire the attorney general at any point.
00:19:21.780 He's going to fire a secretary of war at any given point that he feels necessary.
00:19:28.260 So I don't necessarily agree with that assertion. And I think he would be a hell of an attorney general.
00:19:33.760 I think that if DeSantis wanted to repair his reputation, save face, it's very easy for him to do.
00:19:44.380 Head on in, beg for that job of attorney general, take the job as attorney general, be confirmed, which I think he'll be confirmed with no issues.
00:19:53.560 And I mean, steamroll every deep stater that he can see.
00:19:59.300 Every deep stater that comes his way, every deep stater that wronged this country, bam, gone, bam, gone, bam, gone.
00:20:05.520 And that's a way for Ron DeSantis to repair his reputation with the country, to repair his reputation with MAGA and America First, because they all feel that he wronged them.
00:20:21.300 We're taking a quick break here, folks.
00:20:22.960 One more quick break on The Great America Show.
00:20:24.560 I promise there's more to get to.
00:20:25.780 Kevin Warsh is going to be the next Fed chair. 0.98
00:20:27.840 He was on Capitol Hill today, and he had some fun with some of the dumbest Marxist Dem senators. 0.96
00:20:32.920 We got it all for you on the other side of this break. 0.99
00:20:35.300 Don't turn that dial, folks.
00:20:36.600 We're coming right back, I promise.
00:20:43.900 Thanks, everybody, for staying with us here on The Great America Show.
00:20:46.640 Let us know where you're tuned in from, folks.
00:20:48.180 We appreciate each and every you guys joining us for a live show.
00:20:53.060 So Kevin Walsh is going to be the next Fed chair.
00:20:55.400 He's going to be confirmed by the Senate in just probably days
00:20:59.100 to take over for failing, outgoing Fed chairman, Jerome Tulate Powell.
00:21:05.820 President Trump was on MSNBC, or rather CNBC.
00:21:09.980 It's a little bit more conservative arm this morning to talk about it
00:21:13.000 and to talk about the possibility of raising interest rates
00:21:16.500 and what it means for the economy. Take a listen.
00:21:18.340 I want Kevin. I think Kevin's great.
00:21:20.380 He's central casting in a true sense.
00:21:23.300 I think he's going to do a great job.
00:21:24.700 yeah if there's time for i've been i've been in favor of interest rates rate rises to stop
00:21:30.080 inflation i think it sort of is effective but there's one thing and and you nobody ever talks
00:21:35.480 about it but me unfortunately so i'm sure it's not correct but i think it is we should be we
00:21:40.700 should have the lowest interest rate in the world when i was a young guy growing up we always had
00:21:45.100 the lowest interest rate worldwide we always did and then uh 15 years ago 20 years ago it started
00:21:52.780 where switzerland and other people had lower rates than us and i just had a thing with uh if
00:21:59.300 you take a look at some of the you know let's call them like elite countries they're only elite
00:22:04.120 because we allow them to walk away with 30 billion and 40 billion dollars a year but i don't do that
00:22:09.440 so much anymore i sort of put a clamp on that with the tariffs and charges that we charge them
00:22:15.640 because they were elite because they're making billions and billions of dollars from the united
00:22:21.260 states larger and other reasons and they run a good operation but it's easier to run it good
00:22:25.620 when you make that much money where we have these massive deficits with uh you you take a look at
00:22:30.920 some of the countries but switzerland is one they talk oh yes we are a small and brilliant well
00:22:37.380 they're brilliant because they pay us almost nothing now they pay a little bit they should
00:22:41.980 pay much more we'll get that up a little bit but if you take a look at uh denmark you take a look
00:22:47.680 good all these countries you need to think of them so good they pay such a low interest well
00:22:52.200 if we charge them and what happened with with me is i charged some of them and they squawked like
00:22:57.720 you wouldn't believe it they called and you we are a small country all of a sudden i realized
00:23:03.100 they're not elite we're elite we're being sucked dry and we can't do that and you'll see that you
00:23:09.780 know we had a little setback with the supreme court they said i can charge tariffs but i have
00:23:13.640 to do it a different way and because of what they did we have to pay back 160 billion dollars all
00:23:19.960 they had to do is add one sentence just one sentence and that's you don't have to pay anything
00:23:25.080 taken in thus far back but because they didn't add and by the way it was a close call too
00:23:30.400 there were justices that were powerful that i was right on the tariffs but because we lost by just
00:23:37.180 two votes you know just little vote two votes we have to pay back 165 billion they could have with
00:23:45.000 a little one sentence you don't have to pay back tariffs that have already been received you start
00:23:50.660 from this point and you do it a different way so we're doing it a different way we're going to end
00:23:54.860 up with the same actually we'll end up with bigger numbers actually but it's a little more unwieldy
00:23:59.580 but it's the way it's been done uh but it's so mr president the supreme court didn't want to
00:24:04.800 save our country with one sentence, $165 billion.
00:24:08.340 And we're giving a lot of that money back to people that hate our country.
00:24:13.320 So I'm not happy with the Supreme Court.
00:24:15.300 I'll be honest with you.
00:24:17.900 There you have it.
00:24:19.180 That was President Trump on the tariffs of the Supreme Court.
00:24:21.140 A huge letdown on that.
00:24:22.520 President Trump said it would be brilliant if U.S. companies don't seek
00:24:25.140 refunds from the tariffs that he imposed that were deemed unconstitutional
00:24:28.640 by the Supreme Court under the way he did it.
00:24:30.880 So
00:24:32.560 Those payments I think are set to go out
00:24:35.320 This week or next week
00:24:36.860 Ruling by the Supreme Court in February
00:24:39.740 Where CBP paid over
00:24:42.060 330,000 importer tariffs
00:24:44.840 Roughly
00:24:46.260 166 billion dollars
00:24:49.200 If I had President Trump
00:24:50.780 I'd tell him to
00:24:51.520 Take a walk
00:24:53.260 Sue us
00:24:54.140 And we'll see you in court
00:24:56.200 If you want your money 0.99
00:24:57.580 Tell the Supreme Court to take a hike
00:24:59.660 just as Joe Biden did when it came to student loan forgiveness.
00:25:02.840 Remember, he told the Supreme Court, go kick rocks.
00:25:07.380 You don't you don't think I can I can forgive student loans.
00:25:10.440 Well, watch me do it. So Kevin Warsh is going to be the next
00:25:14.460 man to take over the Fed was on Capitol Hill today.
00:25:19.700 And he's just as brilliant as you would have expected.
00:25:22.120 I'm deeply grateful to President Trump for asking me to take on this public trust,
00:25:26.840 because that's what it is, a public trust.
00:25:30.560 The president believes that real economic growth in the U.S.
00:25:34.340 and real take-home pay will accelerate.
00:25:37.300 I share the president's confidence in our country and its people.
00:25:42.480 America's economic growth potential is rising as we sit here today.
00:25:47.680 I'm also especially happy that my wife Jane is here.
00:25:51.600 She's been with me for many of the most important moments in my life.
00:25:55.880 I'm grateful for her love and her personal accomplishments.
00:26:00.560 I reciprocate that with somewhat of my own love, though I'm a little more stoic than she.
00:26:06.240 And about every 20 years, I reintroduce her to this committee.
00:26:10.540 She sat behind me 20 years ago, and it was almost 20 years ago to the day.
00:26:16.420 And so let me offer today what I said then.
00:26:19.880 Jane, happy anniversary.
00:26:21.040 i'm also thinking of my late mom and dad they were paying great attention to this hearing 20
00:26:29.900 years ago they're no longer with us but i was always proud of them and the values they taught
00:26:36.140 me and i hope they'd be proud of me today we start today with a note of broad agreement
00:26:43.080 even though we might have heard different narratives at the outset of this hearing
00:26:46.660 This is a time of great consequence for the nation's economy.
00:26:51.980 As a former Fed governor and friend or colleague of the last five Fed chiefs, from whom I've learned plenty of lessons,
00:27:00.740 I'm particularly alert to the challenges and opportunities confronting the institution that I cherish, the Federal Reserve.
00:27:10.480 And we look forward to Mr. Warsh taking over there from Jerome, too late.
00:27:15.960 Powell. Now, Elizabeth Warren was there and she's not very bright at all. She asked him about an
00:27:25.620 aspect of disagreement. Now, you heard the CNBC interview President Trump earlier where he
00:27:30.460 disagrees with President Trump. His response, totally brilliant. One aspect of President
00:27:35.420 Trump's economic agenda with which you disagree. Well, Senator, the Federal Reserve in recent years
00:27:42.320 has wandered outside of its remit, wandered into other areas.
00:27:45.480 I'm asking for something you disagree with Donald Trump on.
00:27:49.060 If I'm confirmed, the Federal Reserve should stay in its lane.
00:27:52.980 Just one. Just one little place where you disagree with Donald Trump.
00:27:56.440 Well, I do have a disagreement, actually, Senator, with the president.
00:28:00.200 I think even this morning he said that he thought I was out of central casting.
00:28:05.640 I think central casting, I'd look older, grayer,
00:28:08.500 and maybe show up here with a cigar of sorts.
00:28:10.560 Quite adorable. But, you know, we need a Fed chair who is independent. That's the only way we preserve the independence of the Federal Reserve. If you can't answer these questions, you don't have the courage. 0.96
00:28:26.800 That's a woman with no personality whatsoever. 0.98
00:28:30.380 Now, when she opened up, she opened up. 1.00
00:28:32.180 We should start with this because this was perhaps the best thing she asked.
00:28:34.700 She asked about the 2020 election and if President Trump lost, what the heck does that got to do with the price of tea in China?
00:28:41.820 Let's take a listen.
00:28:42.580 And your courage will start easy.
00:28:44.680 Mr. Warsh, did Donald Trump lose the 2020 election?
00:28:50.000 We try to keep politics if I'm confirmed out of the federal.
00:28:52.960 I'm just asking a factual question.
00:28:54.640 I need to know, I need to measure your independence and your courage.
00:28:59.200 Senator, I believe that this body certified that election many years ago.
00:29:03.480 That's not the question I'm asking.
00:29:05.100 I'm asking, did Donald Trump lose in 2020?
00:29:07.680 I'm suggesting you in 2020, the Fed made a huge inflation problem and you certified the election.
00:29:14.920 So let me ask you another question.
00:29:16.360 You need to keep politics out of monetary policy.
00:29:17.560 In our meeting, you said you would be independent.
00:29:21.420 There you have it, folks.
00:29:22.740 Elizabeth Warren is greatly, greatly troubled.
00:29:26.360 And I think the only thing we can do is really just pray for her and her
00:29:30.660 well-being as she doesn't seem to be all there.
00:29:34.980 Deeply, deeply troubled. Before we wrap up, let's get some shout outs.
