00:00:00.000 Hello, everybody. Welcome to the Great America Show. It's great to have you with us. Thanks
00:00:06.220 so much for spending part of your day, part of your evening with us. We truly appreciate
00:00:10.240 it. The big story of the day, the Diddy case. We finally have a verge. We're going to get
00:00:14.640 to that. So much more to talk about. New data shows that assault on ICE officers is up 700
00:00:21.020 percent since the radical Dems have gone after these ICE officers who are just simply doing
00:00:28.100 their job. The Democrats are launching a new project. It's called Project 2029. I thought
00:00:33.640 they were so against President Trump or his alleged association with Project 2025. CBS
00:00:40.760 settling a multimillion dollar lawsuit with President Trump. So much to talk to. Record
00:00:46.680 revenues with tariffs coming in. And Dr. Fauci may be in a little bit of trouble. RFK Jr.'s
00:00:55.400 got some words for him. We're going to bring that to you. So much more to talk about. Stephen
00:00:59.340 Miller going back at Elon Musk. We got it all for you. But let's start with the story of
00:01:04.560 the day. Sean Combs, also known as Diddy, former rapper, disgraced rapper, I should say,
00:01:11.900 found not guilty on counts one, two and four. He was charged with five counts. The first count
00:01:17.920 which he was found innocent on was racketeering. My opinion should have never been brought in
00:01:23.300 the first place an absolutely absurd charge. I'm not justifying Diddy by any stretch of the
00:01:28.440 imagination. The man is grotesque and disgusting. But racketeering had nothing to do with what Diddy
00:01:34.120 was doing. Rico came from a 1970s organized crime control bill that was signed in by Richard Nixon
00:01:42.960 that was to get organized crime under control. The mobs, the gangsters, it was to rein them in.
00:01:48.560 It was to bring in associates of head honchos and get them to flip on the heads of the mobs
00:01:56.300 or these organized crime families or gangsters or whatever you want to call them.
00:02:01.580 That's not what Diddy was doing. He was running these prostitution type freak off things,
00:02:09.520 transporting drugs. He wasn't doing organized crime. He wasn't doing anything with the Rico
00:02:17.580 Act, which is why it was such a massive waste of time. And I think the prosecutors in the
00:02:23.740 Southern District probably knew that this might have been part of their ploy to help Diddy out a
00:02:29.040 little bit. Now, some of you may know, but the woman leading this case, I believe it was a full
00:02:35.060 slate of female prosecutors going against Diddy. But the head honcho for it was a woman by the name
00:02:41.960 of Maureen Comey. Last name spelled C-O-M-E-Y. Now, you're probably wondering, is there a relation
00:02:48.700 to that one James Comey, former FBI director? Well, yeah, it's his daughter. Same prosecutor in
00:02:55.240 the Southern District of New York who headed up the case against Ghislaine Maxwell as well.
00:03:00.180 Ghislaine will be out of jail one day. She's not seeing a life sentence. She'll be out one day
00:03:03.980 serving a decent sentence, but not a lifelong sentence. So, Maureen Comey, not guilty on
00:03:10.740 racketeering the first charge. Second charge and the fourth charge are both the same, sex trafficking
00:03:15.840 by force, fraud, or coercion. Found innocent on all of those charges. Found guilty on counts three and
00:03:23.020 five, which is transportation and engagement of prostitution, which came from testimony from two
00:03:29.340 victims, one of them being his ex-girlfriend Cassie, also an artist at the time as well. So,
00:03:35.660 that's counts three and five, which he's found guilty on. Those carry a 10-year maximum sentence
00:03:41.220 on each. So, right now, he's looking at a maximum, which is probably will not what it will be, a maximum
00:03:47.760 of 20 years. Now, Diddy's attorneys have asked that did he be allowed out while he awaits sentencing,
00:03:54.560 offering to post as much bail as they want. Now, the appeals judge, where this case will next go next,
00:04:03.960 because Diddy's lawyers are almost guaranteed to look at appeal, is now weighing the options.
00:04:10.200 If he didn't think Diddy had a chance on appeal, I don't think he'd be weighing, possibly letting Diddy
00:04:15.180 out on bail. So, it's sort of interesting. Maureen Comey, did she throw the case? Why is she still
00:04:24.420 in the Southern District of New York? What is she doing there? I think there's a lot of questions
00:04:30.060 that need to be answered, but this is certainly not a good day for the prosecutors. When you go from
00:04:37.160 life behind bars down to looking at a maximum of 20 years, a federal time, so you do 80 percent,
00:04:45.980 so not even a full 20 years. And that's if the judge grants the full 20 years, which is probably
00:04:50.960 unlikely. So, if the judge grants 10 or 15 years, what's he really looking at? Eight years
00:04:57.140 with good behavior and the possibility of winning an appeal. So, not a good day for
00:05:06.380 these prosecutors. Maureen Comey, but what do you expect? The daughter of James Comey.
00:05:13.620 Stephen Miller in the news lately. Elon Musk also. Elon Musk can't seem to contain himself.
00:05:18.780 His anger, his hatred for Donald Trump all of a sudden, and the Republicans. Stephen Miller last
00:05:25.020 night on Laura Ingraham going back at Elon Musk and his dismay for the big, beautiful bill that is
00:05:34.780 bound to get passed by the House any day now, any moment now. We're just waiting for them to do some
00:05:40.120 procedural stuff, but it's expected either later tonight, tomorrow at the latest for passage.
00:05:45.820 Here's Stephen Miller with a little rebuttal to Elon Musk.
00:05:50.000 Campaign for fiscal restraint yet voted for the big, beautiful bill. He is furious for a lot of
00:05:56.600 reasons, but is mostly citing the failure to rein in costs and spending. Your reaction to this tonight?
00:06:03.540 Well, this is the largest spending cut, Laura, in American history. Think about what's in this
00:06:10.100 bill. The largest tax cut and reform in American history. The largest spending cut in American
00:06:15.580 history. The largest welfare reform in American history. The largest reduction in federal spending
00:06:22.120 ever achieved in a single bill. And then it also includes the most robust comprehensive border
00:06:27.240 security and immigration enforcement package we've ever seen. One that will allow us to deport
00:06:32.220 millions upon millions of invaders. To oppose this bill is to support the invasion. To oppose this
00:06:37.900 bill is to support the continued giveaways and freebies to cheaters and scam artists. To oppose this
00:06:44.240 bill is to support a 68% tax hike on the American public. And it's also to oppose this bill is to support
00:06:51.860 a deprivation of all of the tax benefits that president Trump is fighting to deliver the middle
00:06:57.980 class. Like no tax on tips, no tax on social security, no tax on overtime. The Senate passed
00:07:02.780 this bill just today demonstrating that they are fighting for president Trump. They are fighting
00:07:08.960 for his agenda. They are not going to listen to an outside voice that does not represent the interests
00:07:14.500 of the American people or the interests of the Republican party. And the house is going to rally
00:07:19.060 behind President Trump to pass this bill for America. He's absolutely right. Elon Musk has got
00:07:26.220 to get his act together and get back on his meds or whatever he's on. He's acting a fool. And I think
00:07:32.700 the people who are shareholders of Tesla are going to start to get tired of it. They're going to start
00:07:38.920 losing more money and more money because this man is acting like a fool. Because of his hatred for
00:07:44.840 whatever, it's really unclear what his deal is. Coupled with that new data analysis shows that
00:07:52.460 attacks on ICE agents are up a whopping 700%. Since these Marxist dams and illegals are holding these riots
00:08:04.160 states all across America, 700% thanks to the Marxists and the people, the mayors and the
00:08:16.240 Democratic governors, the Karen Bass's, the Gavin Newsom's, who are allowing these people to take
00:08:22.700 over our streets and cities like they did in Los Angeles, which forced Donald Trump to send in the
00:08:26.940 National Guard and the Marines. And we saw how fast that dissipated and they started to act a little
00:08:33.900 bit more orderly, but up 700%. That's a disgusting, disgusting thing. And the Democrats should be ashamed
00:08:40.460 of themselves looking to launch apps to let people know where ICE agents are. You have Democrats calling
00:08:47.880 for ICE agents to take off their masks, to let these people see their faces so they can try to go kill
00:08:54.420 their families. I thought the Democrats were for masks. Remember during COVID, you had to wear a mask
00:09:00.380 to go to the bathroom? If you wanted to see your loved ones, you had to wear a mask or stay six feet
00:09:05.680 away. Now, all of a sudden, they're not in favor of masks? Which one is it, you Marxist dams?
00:09:12.520 You guys all remember Project 2025, the alleged Project 2025, which the Democrats said, they swore that
00:09:20.700 Donald Trump was a part of, and it was all part of Donald Trump's radical agenda, and this and that.
00:09:27.940 Well, the Marxist dams are back. And of course, no original thought of their own.
00:09:33.440 They've got an idea. Notice I said no original thought of their own. They're looking at launching
00:09:38.920 something called Project 2029. It's where they'll unveil their radical agenda on what they want to do to
00:09:46.300 America moving forward. Sort of oxymoron. Democrats berated the Republicans. Whatever think tanks were
00:09:57.920 involved with this Project 2025, berated them. Berated President Trump for his association with them.
00:10:06.380 And now, all of a sudden, they've got a change of mind, and they want in on this Project 2025.
00:10:12.160 That's the Marxist dams for you. Truth, justice, and the American way.
00:10:19.980 We saw it a little bit today. Yeah, rhymed a little bit.
00:10:24.460 Donald Trump settling a lawsuit with CBS of Paramount over that edited 60-minute interview.
00:10:29.520 Remember Kamala Harris? She did an interview on 60 Minutes where she said one answer.
00:10:34.580 They paused, they chopped it up, and made it sound completely coherent.
00:10:37.860 Even though you couldn't really tell the difference between when she spoke and Joe Biden spoke.
00:10:44.240 As for the readouts of it, neither of them made a lick of sense.
00:10:52.020 So Donald Trump sued them for $20 billion because of their deception to the American people,
00:10:58.480 for their lying to the American people, and looking to steal an election, quite honestly,
00:11:03.640 if you ask me, why else would you edit content that has to do with a candidate before an election?
00:11:11.560 So Donald Trump settling this afternoon, $16 million being paid by CBS and Paramount in that beautiful, beautiful lawsuit.
00:11:21.740 Once these people start getting held accountable, and now this is just one of many,
00:11:25.280 that Donald Trump has settled for millions of dollars.
00:11:28.460 Maybe these people will start being held accountable for their actions and realize that words have consequences.
00:11:36.260 And when you lie to the American people, you ain't going to get away with it.
00:11:40.880 Turn it out to some tariffs.
00:11:43.500 The United States has brought in a whopping $121 billion in tariffs so far this fiscal year,
00:11:51.160 and they're on pace to close out what we just closed out in June for another $27 billion.
00:11:59.820 $27 billion in one month.
00:12:02.100 That'll be a new record for the month of June once those numbers come in.
00:12:07.740 So what's Jerome Powell doing?
00:12:09.200 Is Jerome Powell going to cut some rates and let this economy prosper?
00:12:14.160 Whereas almost every country in Europe has favorable rates to America?
00:12:19.180 Or is he going to continue to crush and continue to try to hold down the American economy?
00:12:27.200 Which one is it?
00:12:28.140 Because I know if Kamala Harris were in office right now, he'd be running to cut rates,
00:12:34.240 just as he did months before the election, to try to make it look like Kamala Harris and Joe Biden had this thing under control,
00:12:41.500 when we all know they did it, which is why they were so resoundingly lost the 2024 election.
00:12:49.660 The popular vote, the Electoral College, they lost it all.
00:12:55.540 But you and I know that because we're here smiling about it today.
00:13:00.400 So which one is it, Jerome Powell?
00:13:01.780 Are you going to cut the rates or are you going to continue to allow America not to be competitive
00:13:05.200 on the world stage as it comes to lending and borrowing money?
00:13:09.340 Speaking of money, President Trump announcing this afternoon that he has made a trade deal with Vietnam,
00:13:15.860 one of our biggest trade partners over in Asia.
00:13:19.860 President Trump says details are to follow.
00:13:22.700 So he's now got the big ones, China, and he's got Vietnam, Canada.
00:13:30.200 We'll have to wait for them to come back to the table.
00:13:31.580 They're acting a little fools right now, too, but also working on some deals over in Europe,
00:13:36.800 working on the peace deal between Ukraine and Russia.
00:13:39.300 You have the Gaza-Israel 60-day ceasefire where they're going to work out a final plan
00:13:46.080 to have a permanent ceasefire there.
00:13:49.120 Iran and Israel have a ceasefire there as well.
00:13:53.480 Everything is going very smooth and good pace right now, in my opinion.
00:13:59.880 July 4th, just a few days away, two days away, President Trump is going to be kicking off
00:14:05.120 the 250th year anniversary of America alongside our good friend Lee Greenwood,
00:14:12.000 who's going to be our guest here in just a few moments.
00:14:13.720 He's going to tell us all about it.
00:14:16.100 He's going to be joining President Trump in Iowa for that, for the kickoff of it.
00:14:20.800 But a big celebration as Donald Trump is the most patriotic president, in my opinion, we've ever had.
00:14:26.480 Before we get to Lee, I want to turn to RFK Jr. and some news, perhaps some news that he has broken
00:14:35.080 on a recent interview with Tucker Carlson just released yesterday, where RFK Jr. believes
00:14:42.740 that Dr. Anthony Fauci may have some criminal activity, criminal behavior as it pertained to COVID.
00:14:52.200 Take a listen.
00:14:52.680 Because he got immunity.
00:14:55.800 Why did he need immunity?
00:14:57.720 Why did he need a pardon in advance?
00:15:03.440 What do you think the answer is?
00:15:06.040 I would be speculating, but I think he was vulnerable.
00:15:14.240 I think he had a lot of liability on creating the coronavirus.
00:15:19.780 You know, he was funding precisely that research at the Wuhan lab.
00:15:26.400 And he was giving them the technology.
00:15:29.580 He was giving them, you know, he gave them not only the technology,
00:15:34.480 the precise technology for developing that pathogen.
00:15:37.520 Very interesting.
00:15:42.480 But of course, Joe Biden, or at least the auto pen, gave him some sort of immunity that he now has,
00:15:49.420 which I believe Donald Trump and his administration are looking into.
00:15:53.300 As a matter of fact, RFK Jr. may possibly have an idea.
00:15:58.560 The truth commission.
00:15:59.220 So it sounds like Fauci is beyond the reach of the law at this point.
00:16:04.500 Yeah.
00:16:06.340 There, I think generally, unless there was a truth commission, you know, which they did.
00:16:13.720 And as you know, in South Africa, they did it in Central America after the, you know, the 1980s wars there.
00:16:21.280 And they were very, very helpful to those societies.
00:16:25.020 And, you know, I think we should probably do something like that now.
00:16:28.800 And in those cases, what happens is you have a commission that hears testimony on what exactly happened.
00:16:36.040 Anybody who comes and volunteers to testify truthfully is then given immunity from prosecution.
00:16:45.160 And, but, so that at least the public knows who did what.
00:16:49.280 Yes.
00:16:49.540 And people who are called and don't take that deal and purge themselves, they then can be, they can be prosecuted criminally.
00:17:05.220 Americans have a right to know.
00:17:07.480 We all suffered.
00:17:09.780 Some people went through hell and back during COVID.
00:17:12.980 We all have a right to know what took place and what happened.
00:17:17.080 Who's responsible for it all?
00:17:19.540 Who's responsible for leaking it?
00:17:21.060 Who's responsible for creating it?
00:17:22.480 Who's responsible for funding it?
00:17:25.040 Was the U.S. government funding it?
00:17:27.520 Did the U.S. government create it?
00:17:30.660 These are all questions that I think Americans have deserved answers to.
00:17:34.580 And not just Americans.
00:17:35.840 Millions around the world who lost their lives because of the China virus.
00:17:41.580 What role did Fauci play?
00:17:42.940 And why was Fauci given such immunity?
00:17:46.620 Immunity is given to people who have committed some sort of crimes.
00:17:50.560 At least that's what we're told.
00:17:53.680 People who have something to worry about.
00:17:56.180 Why was he pardoned?
00:17:58.040 If Fauci did nothing wrong, he wouldn't have needed that.
00:18:00.560 He wouldn't have needed immunity.
00:18:01.740 A preemptive pardon?
00:18:04.920 He wasn't a target of anybody.
00:18:09.880 If you look at some of the people that Donald Trump had to pardon, it's because they were targets of the Marxist left.
00:18:15.860 When Donald Trump left office in 2021, January, you saw what the Marxist Dems did to him.
00:18:22.540 You saw what they did to his people.
00:18:23.960 They tried to make their lives hell.
00:18:26.960 That's a different case.
00:18:29.100 The Republicans were only going to go after Fauci to find out what exactly happened.
00:18:33.140 Which, as I said, we all deserve answers to as Americans.
00:18:39.180 Over a million Americans dead.
00:18:41.680 Millions globally.
00:18:43.440 And still to this day, Anthony Fauci walks the streets.
00:18:47.940 Handheld high.
00:18:49.220 Millions of dollars richer in his bank account.
00:18:52.160 All from COVID-19.
00:18:54.920 Hasn't paid any sort of repercussions.
00:18:57.460 Hasn't had to answer questions to anybody.
00:19:01.880 Still just a free man.
00:19:03.740 And so many people have suffered.
00:19:05.300 Died.
00:19:06.180 Kids' lives ruined.
00:19:07.680 Kids taken out of school.
00:19:10.520 Kids not allowed to have childhoods.
00:19:14.340 Because of this evil, evil man.
00:19:17.180 I like to call him the witch doctor.
00:19:20.460 So I think it's time for answers.
00:19:22.700 Whether it be RFK Jr., whether it be President Trump, whether it be a Senate committee, a House committee, someone has got to get to the bottom of this.
00:19:29.780 Someone has got to get answers to what Anthony Fauci knew, how long he knew it, and what he was funding.
00:19:36.160 As I said, folks, our guest today is the great, the great, great American, Lee Greenwood, a patriot.
00:19:45.180 He's going to be joined by President Trump.
00:19:46.840 He's joining President Trump tomorrow at the Iowa State Fair to kick off the 250th anniversary of America.
00:19:53.060 He joins us just after this quick break.
00:19:55.880 Stay with us.
00:20:02.340 Lee, as always, it's a delight to have you.
00:20:04.560 I appreciate you coming back on.
00:20:05.940 Very timely appearance for you here.
00:20:09.240 We're sitting here Wednesday, July 2nd.
00:20:12.060 Tomorrow, you're heading to Iowa with President Trump to kick off the America 250 event.
00:20:17.720 Tell us a little bit about it.
00:20:18.740 I'm excited to be there with the president again.
00:20:21.580 I've sang many times for him, of course, all the way back to 2016 and his appointment to me as a trustee for the Kennedy Center.
00:20:31.680 Getting firsthand and close to him enough to have casual conversation is astounding for a farmer from California.
00:20:38.720 And so, yeah, we'll be in Iowa, the heartland of America, at the State Fair.
00:20:43.160 And it's going to be a great kickoff because everybody's talking about the 250 for America, but that's next year.
00:20:50.340 So we have a whole year to do this.
00:20:52.480 And so the kickoff tomorrow will be exciting.
00:20:55.320 But I think pre-climatic because we're like we're focusing on next year, aren't we?
00:21:00.340 And then, of course, July 3rd and then the July 4th appearance there in Washington, D.C.
00:21:05.880 for the president and the flyover with the B-2 that dropped bombs in Iran.
00:21:09.940 You know, so we're we're all about really current news.
00:21:12.580 And yet we're focusing on next year already.
00:21:16.080 Now, you'll be you'll be in D.C. with the president as well on on the 4th.
00:21:20.000 I'm not sure whether I will or not.
00:21:21.740 Now, that'll be up to the president.
00:21:23.020 But I will be there tomorrow.
00:21:24.660 I think there's probably a good chance that any sort of patriotic event there is, Lee Greenwood is by the president.
00:21:31.340 I say this to everyone.
00:21:32.720 I saw you in MSG back when President Trump was just a candidate.
00:21:36.920 And it's like everywhere he goes, he doesn't care.
00:21:40.340 It's Lee Greenwood's got to be there if it's some sort of patriotic event.
00:21:43.960 So I think that's probably a great honor for you.
00:21:46.120 And it's a great honor for this country to, you know, to have you there.
00:21:49.340 Last time we spoke, Lee, you had just come out with a new version of God Bless USA, the rock version.
00:21:53.860 And what you said to me was you've charted everywhere, but you want to chart on the rock charts.
00:21:58.160 I think your dream came true.
00:21:59.620 Isn't that correct?
00:22:00.700 We did.
00:22:01.240 And we went number one immediately.
00:22:03.020 A friend of mine named Drew Jacobs from Detroit.
00:22:06.000 And we got a couple of friends from Detroit.
00:22:07.500 Kid Rock's from Detroit.
00:22:08.460 We just opened a new nightclub called Detroit Cowboy down in Nashville.
00:22:13.580 So, yeah, it was a pretty cool recording.
00:22:16.240 I kind of liked it.
00:22:17.000 My kids liked it, too, because I was hesitant.
00:22:19.080 I don't like to change how I wrote that song, which was in 1983.
00:22:22.480 So you go way back.
00:22:24.560 Song of the Year in 1985 in Nashville, the country music community, the military loves it.
00:22:30.040 And they know what it represents for the people.
00:22:32.220 The citizens of America like it for unity.
00:22:34.580 And all that has happened and transpired in those past 40 years.
00:22:38.700 But the new rock version, it kind of felt good.
00:22:41.220 It was like up to date.
00:22:42.660 And my kids are 30 and 26.
00:22:44.680 They said, Dad, we love this.
00:22:46.260 Okay, cool.
00:22:46.960 I play it everywhere I go.
00:22:49.580 You know, regardless if I'm at a party or if I'm out on my boat, I jam it up because I love it.
00:22:54.100 So before we got on here, I said, Lee, facetiously, I said, Lee, I can't understand why the Democrats hate America so much.
00:23:02.660 We saw what happened with President Trump's birthday extravaganza in D.C. for the birthday for the U.S. Army as well.
00:23:11.600 They went absolutely crazy.
00:23:12.780 They're going crazy about a parade in D.C. now for the military.
00:23:17.660 And you simply said to me, they don't hate the country.
00:23:20.420 They hate Donald Trump.
00:23:21.700 Explain, please.
00:23:22.460 I really believe that's true.
00:23:25.160 Of course, we know that the president stands for the people.
00:23:28.280 He got the popular vote.
00:23:30.140 And he's the kind of guy.
00:23:31.940 I remember back in his first term as president and the 45th president of the United States, he said, I'm going to drain the swamp.
00:23:38.380 And actually, what we've done is unify the swamp.
00:23:42.120 Actually, the people that are still there believe in what Trump is doing.
00:23:46.040 And, of course, now the Senate has passed that bill, moved on to the House.
00:23:49.260 I think the House will probably pass the bill.
00:23:50.840 The president will have what he wants on July 4th and be able to sign that bill into legislation.
00:23:55.040 And then we are moving forward.
00:23:57.660 And as he said, America is really going to prosper for this.
00:24:00.960 And I thought there's so much confusion thrown at us from the left.
00:24:03.880 But it's time to be, once again, proud of our country.
00:24:07.960 I'm proud of who we are as Americans.
00:24:09.960 When you wrote this song back in the early 80s, I'm sure never did you think it would become so political.
00:24:16.560 And I'm not saying you made it political.
00:24:18.120 I'm saying it made it political sort of between the left and the right divide.
00:24:21.740 Donald Trump plays a song.
00:24:22.860 So, therefore, the Democrats must hate it.
00:24:25.180 They must hate Lee Greenwood.
00:24:26.160 But it's part of their equation that they can't like it because Donald Trump likes it.
00:24:32.280 Meanwhile, you hear it now, anytime Donald Trump is at a military base, anytime he's at a military installation, anytime he's around our troops.
00:24:39.440 And Lee, every single time I hear the song queued up, it gives me the chills.
00:24:42.100 I, you know, I have to say, just because my association with the president has dropped me an awful lot of attention, I really don't get hatred from the Democrats.
00:24:53.400 I, you know, I think I'm so positive about America's unity and that I stand for the military.
00:24:59.700 Maybe I just bring a fresh picture to what the president wants to present for the rest of the people of America.
00:25:05.560 And that makes me very proud that I can serve that as an ambassador for this country, if you will.
00:25:11.240 And speaking of that, I will probably end up going to Israel at the request of Ambassador Huckabee, who is now in place in Jerusalem, for a celebration of America soon.
00:25:21.580 It was going to be in July, but we're going to postpone that, I think, till September.
00:25:26.060 So that's going to make me proud, too.
00:25:27.440 So kind of kind of an ambassador for the country.
00:25:29.700 I love it.
00:25:30.740 Yeah.
00:25:31.060 And like I said, I think it's excellent.
00:25:33.260 President Trump also appointing you back now to the Kennedy Center board.
00:25:36.500 Is that correct?
00:25:37.500 Yeah.
00:25:37.720 I'm now a trustee again with 32 other people who are going to attempt to make the Kennedy Center once again the most prestige performance venue in the United States, which it started out that way.
00:25:50.240 And it just kind of went awry and they started having strange performances there.
00:25:54.980 I think they put the building under ear repair, disrepair.
00:25:59.080 And that's kind of disappointing because I had a walkthrough with the president and we saw exactly what needs to be fixed.
00:26:04.520 And that's going to be fixed.
00:26:06.020 And, of course, with the opening of Les Mis, you can see the kind of entertainment that's going to be more family oriented and the way people can come and visit once again in this beautiful venue.
00:26:15.660 And it's one of the most beautiful in the country.
00:26:18.180 Do you think that hatred for Donald Trump, it seems that America's lost in my, at least my opinion, a sense of patriotism that I think we've always had.
00:26:29.040 And it breaks my heart to know that because we all know what this country's went through.
00:26:32.640 We all know what the men and women who fight for this country every day go through.
00:26:36.840 We know the history of the country.
00:26:38.520 We know what happened on July 4th.
00:26:40.740 Do you think the country geared by a certain person or party has geared towards less patriotism and less respect for this country?
00:26:50.200 We see American flags being burned all over the country with these stupid riots.
00:26:55.040 Do you feel that way or is that just me?
00:27:00.000 I hate to say it's just you, John, but I will say this.
00:27:04.820 Everywhere I go, I see American flags flying.
00:27:08.180 I feel the positive influence of our president on the American people.
00:27:13.940 Not that he's going to win over a lot of people who may not like him or don't like what he stands for or who he is as a person.
00:27:20.380 You cannot dislike what he's doing for America.
00:27:25.360 And so I do feel a more positive influence of patriotism.
00:27:29.460 You may not see it.
00:27:30.880 I know that media focuses on the very small things sometimes.
00:27:34.640 And when somebody gets murdered, it naturally takes precedence over everything else.
00:27:39.560 I understand that.
00:27:41.400 But I just don't want to have our view of America changed just by biased media and every other media except yours.
00:27:51.960 No, you're right.
00:27:52.800 You know, you're probably right.
00:27:53.840 It's because I see things in the granular and I have to deal with it.
00:27:56.620 You, unfortunately, are able to sit there and tune out as much news as you possibly could throughout the day.
00:28:02.580 I, unfortunately, have to be embedded in it.
00:28:04.700 And it literally kills me, Lee, to see someone burning the American flag because I think to myself, if this country is so bad for you, if you hate this country so much, it's so easy, Lee, to get up and just go wherever you think you're going to be more free.
00:28:17.640 We're not holding you captive here.
00:28:19.400 As a matter of fact, Lee, there's a line at the door to get into this place, not a line to get out.
00:28:24.720 Let's just live our life.
00:28:25.920 Let's live our life as free Americans.
00:28:27.480 Be positive.
00:28:28.480 You know, I know this Fourth of July, people are going to look for a vacation spot.
00:28:32.040 Go find your best spot.
00:28:33.460 You know, go get a boat, get on the lake, drive somewhere because flying may be too expensive.
00:28:39.180 You know, take your family out.
00:28:40.740 Make this a time when you can get together and celebrate America.
00:28:43.740 Grill in the backyard, put up a flag, play some football, whatever.
00:28:47.840 You know, have a great time.
00:28:54.700 So what's your vision, Lee?
00:28:55.960 What do you what's your vision now for America as we celebrate this amazing day in America?
00:29:01.880 What's your view for America?
00:29:03.680 What's your message for America?
00:29:06.040 We view Thanksgiving, the holiday, as a time when we get family together.
00:29:10.320 But we can do that the July 4th.
00:29:11.760 We can do that Veterans Day.
00:29:12.880 I wrote the song, God Bless the USA, and I put a line in it called, I'm proud to be an American.
00:29:19.480 The reason I said that is my father, who joined the Navy right after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, I didn't know him until I was 17 years old.
00:29:26.640 Four years in the Navy, two years in the Merchant Marine.
00:29:28.940 My mother struggled to keep me and my sister alive.
00:29:31.300 So we were raised on a farm in Sacramento, the capital of California.
00:29:35.060 And boy, things have changed there.
00:29:37.020 But I do realize that I've been given a gift and I've been given a chance to move forward with my life and with American life.
00:29:43.660 And I've lived a long time, believe me, John.
00:29:45.700 And I've seen a lot of turmoil.
00:29:47.220 But when I released the God Bless the USA Bible, which has the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and also my handwritten version of my song, God Bless the USA, which stands for that.
00:30:00.020 We have a brand new one that just came out.
00:30:02.620 This is the patriotic edition.
00:30:04.700 And I'm going to read the very front of it.
00:30:06.140 We are one people united by a common destiny and a sharp purpose, a shared purpose to love our one another and United States of America.
00:30:15.580 You've got to love the country.
00:30:17.300 Don't don't talk about how bad it is.
00:30:19.200 You go somewhere else.
00:30:20.340 You'll find how good this country really is.
00:30:22.580 And they can go to God Bless the USA Bible dot com.
00:30:25.400 Is that right?
00:30:26.040 That's it.
00:30:26.680 God Bless the USA Bible dot com or my own site, Lee Greenwood dot com.
00:30:30.860 You'll find a tab that will send you here.
00:30:33.040 The new patriotic version is fantastic.
00:30:35.700 We're going to go ahead after the show.
00:30:37.100 We're going to go ahead and order some copies for us over here.
00:30:40.580 So do you think, Lee, once Donald Trump, unfortunately, I fathom with this every day.
00:30:45.640 That eventually he's going to have to leave office.
00:30:47.620 And it kills me to think about it.
00:30:49.660 But it's just the way the country works.
00:30:51.360 Right.
00:30:51.580 It's just the way the founders wrote it.
00:30:54.380 What do you think happens after Donald Trump leaves?
00:30:57.480 Do you think this country takes a turn for the worst?
00:31:01.460 Do you think we continue on this golden road that Donald Trump has started to pave for the country?
00:31:08.660 I think if everybody prospers, it doesn't matter who's president.
00:31:12.540 And I think maybe that was the focus for 41 when he lost his election.
00:31:17.820 And and although he was a hero for putting together the Gulf War, he didn't focus on the economy.
00:31:24.820 And that lost him the election.
00:31:26.240 As long as everybody has money in their pocket, gas prices are not so terribly high.
00:31:31.020 And I was recently in Qatar with the president.
00:31:33.600 I sang there as well for the emir at the at the palace.
00:31:36.900 And when you look at our around at the opulence, which is only because they have oil, we have oil as well.
00:31:44.540 And we should be a powerful nation like all of those other nations who have oil because we got plenty of it.
00:31:50.680 So when people's talking about bringing, bringing oil back, yes, we need to do that to once again, get wealthy, get to have the nation be well and prosper.
00:32:00.740 And that will make everybody else in this country prosper.
00:32:03.260 And they'll go, oh, doesn't matter who's president as long as I'm doing well as a citizen of America.
00:32:07.760 God bless the country and God bless those people who are struggling to find a job or find how to how to put their lives together.
00:32:14.560 It's going to get better.
00:32:16.020 Trust the president.
00:32:17.460 Yes, you're absolutely right.
00:32:18.700 It always gets better.
00:32:19.520 Can you tell us you spent a lot of time with President Trump?
00:32:22.460 I've had the honor and privilege to spend a decent amount of time with him as well, both in public, both in private.
00:32:29.360 What the what tell the audience what the general public doesn't see about this?
00:32:34.920 I've told so many stories, Lee, about the man he is, about the person he is.
00:32:38.660 But the Donald Trump you get behind the scenes.
00:32:41.620 I'm I am amazed as his ability to move from venue to venue, interview to interview, press conference to press conference and still have the ability to show up at the Kennedy Center to do something special for a veteran to go and talk to some school kids.
00:33:01.940 Yeah. When you have a chance to speak to the president for just a moment, it seems like he just got out of bed.
00:33:08.000 He's as fresh as he is.
00:33:09.180 He needs to be all day long and probably only slept three hours.
00:33:12.200 I don't know how he does it.
00:33:13.100 He's an energizer, buddy.
00:33:14.220 But I think he's so focused.
00:33:15.880 When I asked him, we were actually in Qatar and he was sitting next to the mirror.
00:33:20.200 We have a moment of conversation.
00:33:22.200 And I said, are you doing OK?
00:33:23.660 He said, I love this.
00:33:25.900 He said, it's what I was cut out to do.
00:33:28.720 And so I'm like, OK, I'm on your team.
00:33:31.980 Yeah, you're absolutely right.
00:33:33.040 And like you said, things are going to better.
00:33:35.580 Seeing him in person, he's the same person you see out on the stage, a very genuine person.
00:33:40.360 He listens to everybody, listens to everyone who has to say, speaks to everybody and doesn't think he's better.
00:33:45.780 So that's why I hate, you know, seeing how they treat this man in the press, knowing darn well that the person he is behind closed doors is a better person or same or better person, you know, than he is out in the public.
00:33:58.580 And I don't think he gets a fair shot out in the media of genuinely who he really is.
00:34:04.660 You know, I don't mind the negative press.
00:34:08.860 That's their job.
00:34:09.800 You know, if we were all positive in one direction, you wouldn't have any competition in the media.
00:34:15.220 I think you need that.
00:34:17.260 And that's kind of the first lesson, I think, of literary giants is they have to have positive and negative in order to have a point of view.
00:34:24.160 I'm OK with that.
00:34:25.500 I just want fact.
00:34:27.640 I don't want misleading news, fake news, as the president had called it.
00:34:32.280 And it's very obvious in a lot of the places now.
00:34:34.820 A lot of people have been called out for it.
00:34:36.640 And thank goodness.
00:34:37.440 And it'll continue because people thrive from that.
00:34:41.360 Hackers thrive from that.
00:34:42.960 You've seen the emails that come in now that are crazy.
00:34:45.060 I get one every 15 minutes.
00:34:46.580 If somebody says, well, your network is your Netflix, it needs to be reestablished.
00:34:51.360 Click on here and we'll show you how to do that.
00:34:53.520 I get that stuff.
00:34:54.600 Are you kidding me?
00:34:55.640 So the fake news is what bothers me.
00:34:59.420 So if you're going to be negative, that's fine.
00:35:01.280 If you don't like Mr. Trump, President Trump, that's fine.
00:35:05.200 But just tell the truth.
00:35:06.580 That's all.
00:35:07.160 Yeah, you're absolutely right.
00:35:08.100 And case in point in what you're saying, Lee, earlier this morning, while I was still sleeping,
00:35:13.100 apparently there was a lawsuit that was settled between CBS and Donald Trump.
00:35:17.200 Donald Trump had sued them, sued 60 Minutes for $20 billion because of how they misled the publicly.
00:35:23.760 They edited a video of Kamala Harris to push together words and say this.
00:35:28.920 It's like doing this interview right now, Lee, and putting together completely something different.
00:35:32.360 You'd say, John, what the hell is going on here?
00:35:34.740 Yeah, I think they settled for $16 million, I think, something like that.
00:35:38.900 Yeah, but this $16 million, yeah, you're spot on.
00:35:41.480 This is, I think, the accountability.
00:35:42.800 I hate a litigious society, but you've got to have some sort of accountability here, Lee,
00:35:47.820 when you're lying to the American people that this person is this person and this person is that person.
00:35:53.940 It's so misleading that this is like what you'd see in North Korea.
00:35:57.820 Well, AI is in trouble.
00:35:59.560 I mean, AI is troubling.
00:36:01.080 Sorry.
00:36:01.940 And so if I was a fake person, I'd go, so I love the president of the United States.
00:36:09.260 Well, it's not what I meant to say.
00:36:11.060 It's like, it's like, yeah, when people are watching it, I don't think they realize how swift AI can change an interview.
00:36:20.000 And I am thrilled that the president won that particular suit because it was, it was justice.
00:36:26.160 Yeah.
00:36:26.660 Before we wrap up, I see over Twitter, I think it was Rosie O'Donnell, which she's blocked me on Twitter.
00:36:32.060 So she's no friend of mine.
00:36:33.340 I really hope she's no friend of yours, Lee, because then we're going to have to cut this short.
00:36:36.420 But just kidding.
00:36:38.860 She comes out here.
00:36:40.040 She had to move to Ireland because she hates Donald Trump so darn much.
00:36:44.340 She had to go to Ireland.
00:36:45.600 She took a break from Donald Trump.
00:36:46.980 Wouldn't comment.
00:36:47.460 Now she's full fledged.
00:36:48.920 She's speaking out.
00:36:50.580 She's out here saying Donald Trump.
00:36:52.440 And I want to ask you particularly about this because you've followed Donald Trump.
00:36:56.440 So many events that he's performed at, that Donald Trump couldn't fill up school gyms.
00:37:02.780 Kamala Harris was filling up, packing up stadiums.
00:37:05.580 She doesn't understand how Donald Trump won the 2024 election.
00:37:09.540 She believes, Lee, the election was stolen.
00:37:13.580 Well, I wish she could have been to a rally or two.
00:37:16.600 I mean, people don't.
00:37:18.120 My shows are kind of mixed between soldiers, Democrats, Republicans, independents.
00:37:25.000 People kind of like me for what I do because I'm not controversial.
