00:03:40.160 the man convicted of killing George Floyd, filed a petition this week seeking a dismissal of the
00:03:45.040 state murder charges against him, arguing that it was unlawful for Governor Tim Walz to assign
00:03:50.600 Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison to prosecute the crime. Back in April of 2021,
00:03:56.440 Chauvin was 50, was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of George Floyd in police
00:04:00.740 custody in May of 2020. There was one problem with that. An autopsy later revealed that there
00:04:06.820 was both fentanyl and methamphetamine in the man's system, which may have been contributing
00:04:11.080 factors to his death. Floyd would, of course, not comply with police orders and stay in the squad
00:04:15.920 car, prompting Chauvin to eventually get on top of him and use a police maneuver that's
00:04:20.960 been taught to police officers across the country. Some big news today out of the Supreme Court.
00:04:26.800 Chief Justice John Roberts, of all people, folks, allowing construction work on Trump's White House
00:04:31.880 ballroom to continue, at least for now. Roberts issued a stay in place until the Supreme Court
00:04:37.260 considers whether to pause the lower court's injunction. If the Supreme Court didn't intervene
